I had a debt with cash money that went to collections
I had a debt with cash money that went to collections. I contacted Debt Control Agency pretty quickly asking about a settlement. Since the amount was fairly low I opted to not do a settlement and I paid the debt in full so my credit would reflect paid in full rather than settlement. Well they turned around and reported to both credit bureaus that I accepted a settlement. I asked them to correct this and now they will not respond to me. They got their money they don't care now. This is completely unfair as a settlement is damaging to my credit and well why should I have settlement on there when I paid the debt in full.

Unauthorized loan taken out with my identity after my driver's license was stolen
Acquired funds via a stolen driver's license (reported stolen) enabled an unauthorized loan to be taken out in my name. The claim was sent to the DCA, which has had it since November 16th. I have been cleared by the credit bureau, and the account with the DCA was 'closed'. However, they are not removing the inquiry from my account and are not responding to calls or emails. I am being hung up on. This has impacted my credit score, which dropped from 784 to 702. I was told the charge would be removed by the end of January, but it has not been. They need to remove this inquiry and respond to their victims.

I noticed me credit score started to drop and didn't understand why. They have $1005 owing to them on it and I have never had any dealings with them or even been contacted.
I had a collection with DCA, and paid it out in 2021, they told me that it would removed from my credit bureau in 90 days. It's been almost, if not more than a year! I have an email where they told me within 2 weeks it'll be dealt with and it's been a month and a half! This is affecting me correcting my credit score. I have email proof that I requested they remove it from my bureau and it's still reflecting.
Debt Control Agency has a tendency to somehow receive *** debts. They are not taken out by the owner and applied. After being told it is *** MULTIPLE times, they refuse to remove it and still contact me. *** I have contacted the Police, and reported this issue to the credit bureaus.

IN 2018 I TOOK OUT A PAYDAY LOAN, I PAID THE LOAN BACK LATE, BUT I DID PAY IT TO THE ORIGINAL PAYDAY LOAN COMPANY *** DURING THAT TIME THE PD LOAN COMPANY CONTACTED DCA FOR COLLECTION (I NEVER KNEW THAT) AS THEY ACCEPTED MY PAYMENT AND I EVEN SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE TO PAY THE ACCURATE AMOUNT WITH INTEREST. IN 2019 I STARTED GETTING CALLS FROM DCA. I ADVISED THEM THAT THE AMOUNT WAS PAID, THEY INVESTIGATED AND *** ADVISED THEM THAT THEY DID ACCEPT PAYMENT FROM ME, DCA SAID I OWED THEM INTEREST WHICH I PAID, AGAIN JUST TO AVOID ANY BAD CREDIT INFORMATION. THEY SAID THEY WOULD REMOVE THE ITEM FROM MY CREDIT REPORT THEY HAD SUBMITTED UNDER AS A COLLECTION ITEM. I HAVE THE EMAIL CHAIN STILL FROM ALL OF THIS IF REQUIRED. TODAY JUNE 25 2022 THIS ITEM IS STILL SHOWING ON MY CREDIT REPORT. I WANT THIS REMOVED!

I have paid an account in full to debt control agency for ***
I have paid an account in full to debt control agency for ***. I have attached the 2 receipts to the file. They said it would be updated on my credit file. It still has not been done. I have called them multiple times requesting a release letter and I still have not received anything from them. I would like to have this updated on my credit report as this is damaging my credit. This has been paid since March as indicated on the receipts that I have attached along with the file number on the bottom. I see they couldn't even spell the address right when I gave it to them. I am tired and frustrated trying to get them to send me a release letter and trying to get my credit report updated. I feel I shouldn't have to chase after them this long to fix what should have been fixed after the account was paid in full. Please help. Thank you

Hello, I received a call from DCA in response to a debt owed by another person. I presume the debtor, *** may have had my phone number previously. However, I do not know a *** and I do not owe any debts to DCA, so I would please ask that DCA cease contacting me. Thank you
They have contacted me and my friends repeatedly until I finally contacted them to request that they stop contacting my friend. I arranged a payment plan and agreed to pay on the 14th of every month I made multiple payments on time and early. Maybe late once. They kept contacting me to remind me and ask me when I was paying after I repeatedly told them that I was paying on a set date and to stop contacting me. This is now *** I do not wish them to contact me anymore and do not wish to pay them what they apparently are owed. Considering I payed off a much larger debt than what I originally owed them at a fraction of the cost.

I first contacted Debt Control Agency On September 1st to pay off my debt to *** I spoke to Amara A. about paying off my debt so I could have it removed from my credit report. After paying off my debt, I asked how long it would take for it to be taken off my credit report, and they responded 30-60 days on September 3rd. However, its been nearly 60 days and the account is still there on my credit report, and I sent Amara another email. This time they responded "DCA does not remove item from credit bureaus , most items remains on your credit bureaus up to six years ." They clearly told me that it would be taken off in 30-60 days when I asked how long it would take for this to be taken off my credit report. I wish for them to honour that. Update Nov 1*** DCA has contacted me and told me that they have requested for the account to be removed and it may take up to two weeks. Will update once it has been fulfilled.

I had an illegitimate account added to my credit bureau reports approximately three years ago
I had an illegitimate account added to my credit bureau reports approximately three years ago. The collections account was regarding a *** loan that I paid in full. I submitted a dispute via *** and ***. I submitted evidence and the account was removed. Today I received an email advising of a collections account, called and was advised that it's for a 2018 *** debt. At this point this is *** an account that was paid in full and this collection account, if added to my report will negatively impact my credit, although I have already gone through the lengthy process of resolving the issue. This company needs to review the documentation, remove my "account" with them and not further contact myself or the credit reporting agencies regarding this loan that was paid in full. Again, I have resolved this with the credit bureaus and the loan was paid in full prior to the original collection account.

DCA has been contacting me for a previously settled account, seeking payment for another old debt.
DCA has been contacting me repeatedly for an account that was paid on October 8, directly to the creditor with a confirmation of payment received email. The person I spoke with said they had confirmed this debt and referred to communication and credit counselling arrangements - which was never done. They have also now informed me that I owe almost $2000 for an account from 2002 at my current address. The person I spoke with said that because the address they have on file is my current address the debt is mine - I have lived at my current address since 2013. My service provider has no record of this and has been my phone/internet provider for more than 10 years with my account being current. I would like both these records purged and no further communication/contact from this business. I have tried dealing with them directly to resolve these matters as I am trying to improve my credit rating and avoid impacts where possible.

On February 4, this collection agency appeared on my credit report. I've paid the exact amount shown on my credit report to this collection agency on February 16. I've fully paid the balance. Now it's been 39 days since I made the full and complete payment. However, this agency has not sent me any document. They told me that I'll get the document within a week after I made a payment. It's been 39 days. I contacted them via email so they at least send me the documents electronically. Nothing. ***. What should I do? They got my money and didn't send me any documents, letter of release, etc. I've been calling them and they give very general answers and ignore my emails. All I want is justice. This is Canada, not some corrupt country. ***. Just send me my docs

I have 2 outstanding collections
I have 2 outstanding collections. I have never receive a letter in the mail. Only incoming calls. During this pandemic everything is slow and i am not making money. However your company does not seem to care and is charging heavy interest. According to the government of Ontario you are supposed to work with me on this situation we are all in. I have made 3 payments $200.00 $300.00 and $2,164.07 and have paid one account in full. For about 10 day's I have been asking for an e-mail or mail from your company showing what I owe, how much I have paid, what is my remaining balance, how much interest I have been charged, and how the interest is calculated on my remaining balance. I have not received anything. I have contacted and left messages with the manager several times and have not received a call back. As I told the gentleman I am dealing with that all I could afford is $200 bi/weekly as long as the company I work for does not increase what I am making. I do need what I have requested. Please contact me.

My brother's credit report mistakenly shows my debt, which I've settled but not yet resolved.
I received a call from my brother about a debt collection agency (DCA) appearing on his credit report due to a debt I had forgotten about. After settling the debt recently, I still haven't gotten a release letter. Despite payment, my brother's information remains on the account, affecting his credit. The agency refused to correct this and directed us to the credit bureau. We need a company letter stating the debt is mine and is settled, as it's impacting his ability to finance a new home.

Starting beginning of January, I was receiving calls from DCA stating to contact them at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX - I returned their calls on numerous occasions and would go in call queue and their system would hang up after 15 mins of waiting. January 21st - I finally reached an agent and was told matter at hand. I explained, I never received a letter about it and would like all details in writing to be able to determine how to proceed with this matter. Was told that maybe I didn't receive letter due to postal issues. I was then told I could send an email request and information would be sent to me through an email. Everything was sent to DCA on Jan 21st to receive written information on the matter - no response. I emailed again on Jan 25th - no response. All communications with company suddenly stopped. Feb 08, 2021 - Received another call from DCA requesting I call them on this matter. I sent them another email requesting a letter or documentation on this matter - and to stop their calls until proper documentation has been received by me. I also informed them that they are not following proper collection procedures.

Hello, I received a phone call from an agent March 10
Hello, I received a phone call from an agent March 10. This is the first time I've spoken to your company. The agent has advised that I had an outstanding debit of $8000.00 from a closed off account valued in excess of $5000.00 with your client from 2019. The address of the alleged debt, I vacated in 2017. I had emailed your Customer Care team requesting an invoice of all charges, services, equipment, and the stipulated interest accurual rate of 30% per annum, so I may review as I believe this account was carried over fraudulently by the new tenants of my old address. I attempted to contact your client, and they advised they are unable to speak to me regarding the old account, that I had to speak to DCA. I received an email note confirming that the statement of charges has been requested. Since then, I have received 4 phone calls from a *** at extension *** on March 10 stating she received my email and demand that I contact her. Again a few occassions on March 11, demanding that I contact her today to discuss this matter. I have clarified on my email dated March 10, do not contact me unless in writing until the statement of charges are received through you and/or your client. ***. I just want an outline of debt, interest to determine if this even belongs to me!

I completed a Debt Repayment Program in December
I completed a Debt Repayment Program in December . One of the creditors was fully repaid by that time. Recently, I reviewed my credit report and noticed a derogatory account listed as DCA [protected] showing a zero balance but linked to a previous creditor as of August 19. I reached out to the original creditor for clarification, but they directed me to DCA. The original creditor confirmed they were unaware of the issue and unable to assist. I contacted DCA, who acknowledged I have no account with them and provided a customer service email for further inquiries. After emailing them on Nov. 18, 2021, they responded today, stating they will not request the removal of the item from my credit reports and that it would automatically purge after 6 years. This situation is hindering my efforts to rebuild my credit. I would appreciate any assistance in persuading DCA to remove this incorrect item from my credit bureau reports.

I filed a consumer proposal on July 17 which included a payday loan company debt
I filed a consumer proposal on July 17 which included a payday loan company debt. Four days later on July 21, the payday loan company sent this debt to collections with Debt Control Agency (DCA). It seems clear that the payday loan company decided to ignore the consumer proposal and forward the debt to collections. DCA has admitted that they received copies of my consumer proposal documents from the payday loan company and my trustee in 2017. They apparently kept my account open, regardless. I satisfied my consumer proposal in Sept 2019. When I checked my credit report in June , I found DCA showing up on my report under collections: "A collection was reported on 07/17 by DEBT CONTROL AGENCY in the amount of $1171. Balance outstanding: $1656. Reference: payday loan company. Date of last payment: 04/17. Collection Agency reference number: DCA reference." My trustee contacted them again and communicated with the payday loan company who said "I have sent a request to the credit bureau to have your account updated to reflect your bankruptcy." I also sent a request to the credit bureau to update the collection entry for DCA to show zero balance. The entry was fixed in July, but then reverted back to showing a balance owing in August. I again, requested the credit bureau change the entry. It was fixed, but then reverted back again to showing a balance owing just last week. The credit bureau says that DCA is sending this update to them regularly, showing that I owe them $1656 and I need to address this with DCA. I tried contacting the payday loan company again to see if she would address the problem, but I received no response. This has been going on since June, and I now need more immediate and documented action to resolve this matter.

I found myself in collections with this company
I found myself in collections with this company. At the time I didn't know I was, so I paid the original lender. However I was charged a service fee for paying my amount in full because I used a credit card. According to consumer affairs Nova Scotia this is not allowed when collecting debt from a collections account, I can not be charged more money than I owe. The act as followed is: Collection agencies and businesses collecting debt can't: collect more money than you owe the business or person who hired them collect from a person who isn't liable for the debt continue to try to collect from a person who proves to the collection agency or business collecting debt they're not the person who owes the debt *** or speak *** to you, your family or acquaintances make contact so often or in such a way that you, your family or acquaintances feel *** contact you on a Sunday, any day between 9pm and 8am or more than 3 times within a 7-day period *** about your credit or a legal action (directly or indirectly) to anyone *** to give information to anyone that could affect your job contact your family and acquaintances unless your family or acquaintance has guaranteed to pay the debt or the collection agency or business collecting debt is looking for your address or phone number contact your employer unless your employer has guaranteed to pay the debt or the collection agency or the business collecting debt is looking for your address, phone number, employment status, business title or business address publish or post your failure to pay a debt or *** to do so start legal action (like taking you to court) without notifying you first Since I was charged a service fee I am asking in good faith this be removed from my credit report. The account was paid in full when notified. My release letter is also incorrect because it states I paid less. Please contact me with a resolution. If not my next step is to file a complaint to consumer affairs.

A collections account appeared on my credit reports and was first noticed in May
A collections account appeared on my credit reports and was first brought to my attention in May . I immediately found this unusual since I do not owe any money to any creditors or collection agencies. The credit reports were showing a collection account from Debt Control Agency (DCA). The original creditor was not identified, the case number is: DDXXXXXX, original balance was $724, and the last balance date was April 24. I contacted the service representatives at the credit reporting agencies and was told that there is no debt associated with my information. I communicated with the privacy officer at the credit reporting agency who could not find any information regarding a collections account or debt and transferred me to the agency's dispute department. I then spoke with a member of the dispute response team who confirmed that there isn't a file with a debt balance in their system, and she mentioned that she tried searching every possible way with my name with no match. So I called DCA, to inform them that the collection account reported on my credit report is invalid and false. They had a discrepancy in their system and refused to disclose the information they had. I spoke to a customer care representative at DCA who also could not find the collections account with the credit bureaus. As a result, I filed a dispute with the credit bureaus to have the collections account investigated and removed. Both investigations resulted in the removal of the collections account from my credit report because it is not valid and I have never owed the creditor anything. Nonetheless, I still receive countless phone calls from DCA regarding this collections account. They have now started falsely reporting this collection account on a family member's credit report. This is a mistake, and DCA continues to contact my family and me although the account does not belong to us. I have asked DCA to stop contacting me and to delete any personal information they may have on me. I also need DCA to remove this collections account completely from my family members' credit report.

Payment arrangements made with original creditor cash money via a debt repayment program prior to collection being reported. Collection agency refuses to report accurate payment amounts, dates and that payment arrangements have been made.DCA collection agency removed collection and then added it again to my report one week later to significantly impact my credit rating. *** tactics to collect a debt that is already being resolved with the original creditor. Report and remove the inaccurate information and do you job.
I had a debt from *** and *** sent to DCA fir collections. Of course I seen it on my credit report. I recently went into credit counseling with *** These 2 debts are part of it. The 2 creditors *** and *** accepted the proposal and I now am paying them monthly through *** I have asked DCA to take these debts off my credit report as they no longer have anything to do with it. And the amount that is reported is incorrect as they have no updated information on it. I want the debt removed from my credit report. They said they would when it's paid. Um they aren't dealing with it.
A loan for $10,094 randomly showed up on my credit report. I did not apply nor take out this loan. I sent a letter to them in March to validate the debt and the letter was ignored and no proof of debt was sent. I would like this debt permanently removed from my credit report and that all credit bureaus be informed. I would like to be sent proof of the deletion as well.
