Internet service stopped prematurely
Internet service stopped at my home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. I called Direcpath, the internet service provider contracted with our apartment complex, and reported the problem. I was told they had a "major problem" that involved both Direcpath (as a third party provider) and AT&T, whose network Direcpath uses. The outage had continued until the time of this writing. Despite many calls to Direcpath, there has been no repair. I was finally told today (6-25-22) that because Direcpath's contract with our complex has expired, they discontinued the service. My apartment complex management states that Direcpath was to continue the provision of internet service until mid-August 2022, at which time we are entering a contract with a new service provider. I contacted AT&T (the only other entity my complex allows) and am told that I am ineligible to receive their internet service (via Direct TV or Uverse) because our complex is under contract with Dircecpath. I have no options other than AT&T's Direct TV Streaming service which is considerably more expensive or do without. As I used my internet service for computer communication and television - indeed, my contact with the world outside my apartment - I have no choice but to opt for the AT&T streaming service. I had to purchase a new telephone with hotspot capability in order to use the Direct TV streaming service and my laptop computer.

In Lanier Club Apartments. I have had direct path Internet since I have moved here over a year ago. The Internet connection is horrible can never stream any TV show or video games. I just received a new invoice I have been paying $55 a month which is still ridiculous for such bad Internet but To be told when I called into customer service this evening now my bill has gone up to almost $81 and I'm told there is no promotions available all you get is someone that does not speak English and you can get nothing across to them. I ask for a supervisor of course none available. I want a resolution this is ridiculous to not have other options for Internet for the apartment complex. I want to make a formal complaint this Internet company direct path is horrible and is ripping people off forcing them to pay $80 a month for Internet service that is terrible and you cannot hardly even connect to I request a resolution ASAP

Due to Covid, all of us are working from home and internet is an essential commodity. I have not had Internet for 8 days in the last month. That too weekdays and working hours. You call their customer service and the ineptitude of the people and their response time is horrible. My apartment is locked into their service for God knows what reason. But based in their service, I feel this business might file bankruptcy anytime. Horrible service. Just horrible.
The worst ! My sons live in Gainesville and it’s horrible and now they are trying to go up to $80 for internet the service is not worth $10

This company sucks, not only is the customer service department inept but you can't even pay the bill online. They have it where the info is saved there but you have to call in every time to make a payment and when you call they always try and charge more than the email that they sent telling you what to pay. This company is fraudulent, incompetent and really shouldn't be in business. Not only that the internet starts to lack when it rains hard.

This is the worst company I've ever had service with. My modem is a piece of junk. It shuts off completely then restarts. The service drops allllll the time and the signal is terribly slow. Sometimes I go almost a week without service. They never have an available technician when you need them. You always have to wait a week before someone comes out. If my apartment complex would stop being so cheap and allow more service provider I would not deal with Direcpath to begin with. Now I can't wait until my lease is up so I can move somewhere with better internet service providers. I am waiting for my service to come back on as I type this complaint. This is ridiculous.

This company is a complete joke! I've been living in this complex for 2 months and have yet to be able to use the Internet service! I have called the company several times and had an appointment set up and the technician never showed. I called to find out what was up with the appointment and they told me it was canceled...yet no one had the common sense to call and inform me.

The internet goes out way too frequently and the customer service is never any help and they all use the same lines when you call. There is never any management or resolutions offered. They don't even do surveys for the customer service and I have complained about bill adjustments for the inconveniences and never hear anything.

I signed on for the internet service. My Town home complex was available to receive this service. They came in and set up the service. Representatives setting up the service were great and customer service representatives were friendly over the phone. The problem I encountered was slow speeds and a constant disconnecting with a long wait time for technicians to come out and troubleshoot the problem. We are talking about a weeks wait. This happened several times. I paid my bill on time ... all the time. That was not the problem. I complained that since I was not getting the service that I was paying for ... I wanted a refund for the days I have been out of internet service when I should have been receiving it. This went on and on. I eventually called them up and told them to cancel my service. Next thing I know I get a call from Credit Protection Association to pay an amount that I was erroneously billed for . So much for getting any refunds for any out of service times. They wanted their equipment back and I sent it back but that was a struggle in itself as when I asked for the shipping label once I never got it. I called them again ... same thing... never got it. I called a third time. I eventually I got it. Since all that transpired my credit was negatively effected so I am currently in the process of now trying to get this resolved. Look... the service is terrible, If you have another option for internet service I suggest you go that route because this company clearly has problems.

I just moved into an apartment building which has an exclusive contract with DirecPath for TV service. I called yesterday to set up my account and arrange for service. I spoke with Douglas. Douglas set up my account and told me that the technician would be here some time today between 8am and 5pm to do the installation. I thought it was appalling that he could not give me a smaller window, but he kept saying that it depended on what worked for the technician's schedule between 8 and 5. I waited today as instructed by your employee Douglas. No technician, no phone call fro anyone. I wasted my entire day doing as I was told by Douglas. When I called after 5pm to ask what was going on, I was then told that that's not the way it works for my apartment building. Now I need to wait for 24 to 48 hours to get a call from a dispatcher to tell me when my appointment is. I find it completely appalling that I am told one set of instructions by one person to waste my entire day to now be told I have to wait another 24 to 48 hours for a phone call from a dispatcher to tell me when I can have an appointment. No clue as to when the appointment will be, so I guess I am supposed to be ready to drop everything until DirecPath finds it convenient to give me service. I am sorry that I must do tolerate this treatment and complete lack of respect for customers. Get it together.
refunds my monthly payment, then claims I did not pay, then gets collection agency
I received a notice from Credit Protection Association today (4th notice) for a charge of $65.66. I canceled my service on 7/16/18 and I paid full amount prior to canceling. I thought this was a scam but I decided to call DirecPath to confirm. Sure enough, they put me to collection agency because I did "not" pay them the last months fee. DirecPath charges you month in advance and I paid the full amount. Since my bills aren't due officially until the 20th, I was refunded when I canceled on the 16th (which I was not informed) and then they recharged me on the 20th. Since I was not aware I was getting a refund or was getting charged later on, I thought I've paid everything. Today, I found out that DirecPath sent my bill to the collection agency because I never paid my last months bill. I was in shock.
I'm not sure how refunding me what I paid in advance and then charging me that amount 4 days later on makes sense? In addition, they did not inform me that was going to happen. So from my perspective, I paid my bills and that was the end of it. Boy was I wrong. I'm so glad I did not wait any longer to check.
Please be careful with direcpath. They have terrible customer support system and they will send you to a collection agency although you paid. They will just refund you your money and then claim that you didn't pay.
PLEASE, unless your apartment situation is dire and there is no other place to go, do not live in a place that only has DirecPath as your option. Internet services they provide is a whole another issue of it's own.

I'm being ripped off for an internet connection that I can't even use.
In January I called about my issues, and I was told they were looking into the problem. I call at the beginning of August when the problem becomes too much (lagging for over 72 hours as of now). I was told to call back in a few weeks if it doesn't improve, and it's actually gotten worse in those few weeks. I can't even connect to any servers to use speedtest.net properly.
If you're finding a place to live, ask about ISPs. If you can't get anything better than DirecPath, find somewhere else to live.

Honestly. Within three months my bill went up one hundred dollars. I'm paying $186 for internet only. Do yourself a favor and never use them. And don't expect to be able to log into your account either. They'll claim they can't help with that. The internet sucks. Is never fast. And a total rip off. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. They throw on late fees like its no big deal. And the late fees are insane. There is no grace period with them.
I have been trying to get my refund back since September of last year. I have called many times and all they tell me is they can put in a dispute claim. Still nothing has been done and I have not received my money.

I experienced the worst customer service I have ever received in my life today. For 2 weeks in a row, my receiver has been down with error 775. I called Direct-Path to report the issue again and to schedule a technician visit. The operator tells me that they can only provide a 4 hr window for a technician to come. The previous time a technician came they gave a schedule time from 8 am - 12pm. My fiancee had to talk 1/2 of work and stay home. The technician didn't come until 11:45 am. We wasted 4 hrs of our WORKING DAY waiting for a technician to come fix something that wasn't even our fault.
Now, for a 2nd week in a row I'm experiencing the same issue. I called and asked to talk to a Supervisor. I was transferred to Supervisor Joey (extremely rude and condescending individual) who after I explained the situation tells me that it is my problem if I can't stay home for 4 hrs, but he cannot guarantee me an early appointment. I explained that we both work and couldn't talk another day to wait for a technician. He then tells me that there isn't anything he can do and that he will have to schedule me with a 4 hour window and that I needed to make arrangements to make it to work. If not, my three receivers will not be fixed. I find it quite shocking and disturbing, how a supervisor will handle a call like this.
I understand there are policies companies' abide to, but you should never make the customer feel that you are not trying to help them. I've been waiting for my service to fully work for 2 weeks, why was it so hard to ask to get an early appointment on the list and not have me go to the process of having to take another day of work to get this handled, while I'm still paying the bill. It is completely ridiculous the lack of understanding that I experienced. The way I was talked and handled, goes beyond my understanding.
I wish I didn't have to deal with Direct-Path and will be looking for a way to end my contract. I don't understand how Direct TV could associate to this company. The service you experience with you call Direct TV is quite different to be honest. They always look for ways to assist their clients.
Direct Path is a complete joke. Their staff is extremely rude and makes no attempts to help the customer. Instead talks over us, argue and use a condescending tone while interacting with us. I will not recommend this service to anyone and will make sure to place a formal complaint.
I encourage Direct Path to find some flexibility when dealing with clients that are experiencing technical issues 2 weeks in row. Taking 4 hrs of a working day (cause you can't come on Saturday) for two weeks is quite absurd.

I moved into a complex serviced solely by DirecPath, mistake #1. Upon speaking with the rep and asking a many questions as possible, my fiance is a sports and tech fanatic, we decided to go with the best available package at the time., 5 months later the company upgraded the cable service in the area but because we were existing customers we weren't eligible for the new package pricing, mistake #2. Then, because I caused such a fuss we were given a "rendition" of the package, but they need to verify the billing info... Btw nothing changed, mistake #3. Months later the internet stops and I call the service line only to find out the billing info was "missing"... However this is an paperless billing service, so, to activate there had to be account info., needless to say I updated and 3 days later the cable was back on. Now, 9 months later, the account is AGAIN deactivated for none payment and there's no billing info... Wtf.

6 months ago I was promised a 200 gift card, never came, I spent over 12 hours in 6 months trying to get what I changed service for, lie, cheat, steel, they committed fraud, then they denighed they promised me one, filing a fraud lawsuit. I signed up in June for a bundled services, they promised me a visa rewards card if I sign up, I never received a card, I was then promised a 250 card because it never came, I never got it, when I contacted a supervisor, they lied and said, I was never offered a rewards card, they need to be shut completely down because of fraud!

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I was charged an extra month of service after I cancelled my service in march and turned in my modem. I was given the go around for months after saying that I did not owe this amount and it would be taken care of. They then turned my amount due over to collections and refused to help me. They also told me back in february that I would be awarded a credit to my account because I did not receive service for 3 weeks. As a college student, that is not acceptable. I missed many homework assignments and no one seemed to care or want to help fix the problem. Now here we are in september and they are saying that because my service is now disabled, I will not be receiving this credit. I paid the collections payment because I am done dealing with this awful company. Never use!

I canceled my contract with DirecTV and have attempted to secure recovery kits for all 4 devices multiple times. I have been told many different things from your representatives ranging from: you need to call back each time and request a new kit because we can not send more than one to you at a time, you only need to send one and you can keep the others, you need to send one to use and the rest to another address, you will need to purchase shipping equipment yourself and send it to...
At this point both my husband and I are very frustrated with this recovery process. We simply want to return the equipment to your company and remain in an amicable relationship with DirecTV as we have enjoyed services in the past but simply can not afford it at this time. In the future we wanted to be able to return to DirecTV when our financial situation changed but at this point it is difficult seeing that happen as we have ran into such difficulties with this process. It certainly seems as if salvaging this relationship is not important to DirecTV which is very disappointing. I certainly hope my feedback will help with serving others in future.
How can this be resolved? Please send me the last recovery kit for the last mini genie so that I can return 1 master genie and 3 mini genies and avoid any fees associated with not returning this equipment.

I moved into my apt complex that only serviced directpath for internet and in Jan they switched over to comcast directpath/directv were hooked up together at the same time one person, and when i cancelled my direct tv and direct path they sent us a return equipment package which i did direct tv said they received equipment and gave me a credit i was due no problem, i was due a credit from direct path and have talked to them 4 times and they said we will send your credit in 7 to 10 days that was in Jan 2016, after ten days i called and they said it again, still do credit after being told this 4 times, now they say the did not get equip, because all equip was not suppose to be sent in one box one to direct tv and one to direct path, no one told me this and now they say they have to try and tract equip down in direct tv warehouse, this is B--S all equip came together and no one told us none of my neighbors that the equip to be returned in separate boxes they only sent one box i want my credit refunded, this is not my fault it is direct path mishandling my # is [protected]

I just got off the phone with DirecPath customer service and they informed me that it would take them 4 days to have a technician come to my apartment and fix a connection issue. This is totally unacceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of concern for the DirecPath customer. If I did not have to use this service I would terminate it immediately!
