On Friday August 2, 2024, I called my local Domino's to inquire about the $4.99 charge for delivery. I want you to know that the owner of the local store at 733 S. Broad St., Lititz, Pa, phone [protected] was very rude and obnoxious when I inquired about the charge. I was told that being charged $4.99 was none of my business and to not come back to my local Domino's. I have look up why the charge is on my bill and according to the corporate headquarters website, the charge is to offset the cost of maintaining the corporate fleet of cars and gas. My problem with the charge is the fact that my local Domino's doesn't have fleet cars. The drivers use their own cars. The owner told me that he pays his drivers $.50 a mile. I asked the owner where the rest of the money goes. At that point he told me it is none of my business and to not come back to my local Domino's. If you are charging me a fee I have every right to inquire what the charge is for. The owner told me he has been charging the fee for the last two years. If in fact the fee is to maintain Domino's fleet of corporate cars why is my local Domin's charging the fee when they don't have corporate cars? I have never been treated so ruddy by the owner of any establishment in my entire life. The owner seemed upset that someone would inquire about the fee. I feel that the owner is taking the difference and pocketing it himself or as least the how it appears. I have filled a complaint with the Attorney General in the state of Pennsylvania. I know that I am only one person, but I will never use Domino's again. I feel the consumer is being ripped off with this fee to only increase the prophets of the owner. If the fee was going to the drivers I would have no problem with the charge. Domon's code of ethics states that employees, which also includes owners, must always treat each other and customers with respect and professionalism. Integrity and honesty: employees should act with integrity, avoiding dishonesty or unethical behavior. The owner of my local Domino's did not live up the ethics of Domino's.
Desired outcome: I feel that any Domino's that doesn't have corporate cars should not be allowed to charge a fee that is specific to the Domino's corporate standards.
