First, he spends no time with his patients. I stated I had a metal allergy, and when i woke up from surgery, I had metal staples in my leg that were killing me by the second day. My skin actually rejects metal. Secondly, the didn't clean my face after surgery. My husband was disgusted that I had dry blood all over my face when I walked out. The didn't even clean my face under my bandages. I had my surgery on a Thursday. When I went in on Monday to get my bandages off, I never even saw the doctor. The surgical tech/office assistant removed my bandages and finally cleaned my face and removed my staples upon my request. I told her all my issues, she told me should would relay my concerns. Never heard back from her or anyone. Waste of time. His care for patients is obviously least in his mind, he just wants his wallet fattened. Please research your doctors well before getting serious plastic surgeries.

This doctor is horrible! I had a breast augmentation from Dr. Roche in Jan. 2009. I was in severe pain after the surgery and soon after my right breast became swollen and hard. When I went for my week appointment, I was dumbfounded when I discovered that the doctor did not do any rechecks, but rather the office assistant who doubled as a tech. She kept assuring me everything was normal, but I was confident I was having a complication. I did my research and found I had a capsular contracture, which the tech later agreed with. Even after diagnosing myself with this condition the doctor still would not meet with me. I began an unsuccessful laser treatment in an attempt to help the contracture. Needlessly to say one year later I went to another surgeon who corrected the botched boob job. My new doctor informed me that a blood clot had formed in the breast due to trauma in surgery. The insissions on the nipples where also done incorrectly leaving them extremely visible. I was a grade 4 (4 being the worst) and was in pain for an entire year. This doctor should not be in practice! He does not care about his patients and the surgery facility was shoddy at best. NEVER GO TO THIS DOCTOR FOR ANYTHING!
@madatroche I would like to address your concerns. Dr. Roche prescribes pain medications for every surgery patient, along with other medications such as anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers to help keep the patients comfortable. I am sorry to hear that you were still in severe pain after surgery. Did you call the doctor and address that with him? Every surgery patient leaves the office with his personal number for such said issues. It is imperative that Dr. Roche sees his patients following surgery. If for any reason he was not at your first follow up visit, he would have seen you at the next. Either way, the doctor is informed about every patient that is seen. He reviews the pictures taken and reviews the chart notes from the visit. Secondly, Capsular contracture is an unpredictable complication, but it is also the most common complication following breast augmentation. Presently we do not know what causes a capsular contracture to form in one woman and not in another. Capsular contraction is not considered a “botched boob job” this is an unpredictable accepted risk of the surgery. Capsular contracture is difficult to determine so soon after surgery. Within the first few months of surgery a lot is happening. The implants are dropping, changing and healing. Lastly, Dr. Roche does care about his patients, if he didn’t he wouldn’t still be practicing after 25 years. Our surgical facility is fully accredited meaning our safety and standards are just that of any hospital. Dr. Roche does not want any unhappy patients now or in the past. If there is anything we can do at this point please contact our office directly. Thank you
Oh and he mixed up the sizing and made one breast larger than the other. One of my breasts was slightly smaller than the other, so he was suppose to place a slightly larger implant in it to make both breasts proportionate. But instead he put the larger implant in the larger breast leaving me lopsided. NICE.
In any situation you will find unhappy persons.
The staff consists of medical assistants and surgical technician, both are qualified to remove sutures/staples and perform follow-ups with patients. No one aquires capsular contracture one week after surghery. The body goes through a normal healing phase and enduration/edema/swelling is present causing firmness. Patients are aware and informed in their paperwork that follow-up appointments are done with the medical staff, the Doctor is available to see patients always. We never put 2 sizes of implants ina patient, fill volumes are altered if required to help with symmetry differences. Our surgical site is an accredited facility by the AAAHC. We strive to please our patients, but you unfortunately cannot make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time.
I loved Dr. Roche and his staff they were all very nice and they made me feel comfortable with the procedures I was having done. I just wanted to tell Dr. Roch and staff I still cannot believe how wonderful the Rhinoplasty and Blepharoplasty came out. Thank you for the great care and the superb surgery... I experienced no pain whatsoever.
@Mandybear1988 Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words about your surgical experience. We are glad you were comfortable and happy with your results. Be sure to check back with our office often for our latest specials and new services. If you have any other interests, please contact us. Thank you
This doctor is horrible. He ruined my breasts in 2005! Overfilled the implants by 100 cc's and when I inquired about it, the "lady" at the front desk (Sharon) snapped at me, and lied, yes I said LIED and told me that they had a "100 cc clearance" from the manufacturer! I called the manufacturer myself, and although the overfilling of the implant is the doctors right and choice (not mine, I guess) they do not give any type of "clearance". My breasts felt and looked like grapefruits! They were full D's, when I asked for small C's. His incision was terribly messy and left an ugly scar straight across my nipple. Also, when he "weakened the fibers" of my muscle to put in the implant, he made two mistakes. First, he "weakened" them too laterally and caused my left breast to fall into my armpit when I laid back. Also, when I lifted my arm, my one breast went with it. When I inquired about this, and wanted it fixed, Sharon (gotta love her) was extremely rude to me as was he, and they wanted me to get a cat scan to see if it was the muscle pulling the implant up. I found another surgeon who fixed it without a problem. At my last visit to his office, I asked to see a picture of someone who had their implants removed and not replaced, and I was shown a photograph with a patients name on it. If I could remember that name, I would have reported her, but I cannot recall it. Dr. Roche is a money hungry jerk with a staff to match. Do not use this "doctor" for anything! Also, he has had disciplinary action taken against him by the state of Michigan. It's free to check out. I had a printed report mailed to my house. Also, take a good look at his credentials. He is not a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon! Too bad I didn't do my research before I let him operate.
@PoyneDexter I know your surgery was a while back, but your complaint was just recently brought to my attention. You are correct when you state that Dr. Roche is not Board Certified in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Roche is a Double Board Cosmetic Surgeon. Do you know that a Plastic surgeon only needs 55 Cosmetic Surgery cases to graduate? However, a Cosmetic Surgeon needs 300 Cosmetic Surgery cases to graduate. The experience is not even comparable. A Cosmetic Surgeon has an extensive amount of experience over a Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Roche spent 20 years teaching residents how to do surgery. Dr. Roche practiced level 1 trauma for years. He put faces back together after car accidents, gun shot wounds to the face, and so many more traumatic accidents that people unfortunately encountered. He can show you pictures of people that live normal lives now because he is good at what he does. Now, I am sorry that you were not completely happy with your surgery. If you would be willing to contact me I would like to look over your case and see if there is anything we can do to help make your experience more enjoyable. 248-338-1110 Tesia Martin, Office Manager
Dr.Roche is a hack and needs his medical license taken away. He sucks and so does his office staff! They never run on time they always reschedule appointments. Dr. Roche spends no time with patients and he has terrible bed side manner.
@DRTERRIBLE I am sorry you are stating you have had such a terrible experience. Can you please go into more detail about your experience? I ask because it is not normal for our office to reschedule appointments. We usually schedule with enough time for every patient to address their wants and needs with the doctor. Please contact the office as I would like to speak with you. 248-338-1110 Tesia Martin, Office Manager
I found my experience with Dr. Roche very pleasant and am happy with the results I had. I found his staff caring and found him to be very warm and informative. I do not agree with the above comments and have no complaints against Dr. Roche or his staff at all. I am a a recent patient and have no problem recommending him.
@happy in Clarkston Thank you for the recommendation. Dr. Roche and our staff take great pride in their work. This is a very rewarding job. We have hundreds of happy patients. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Let us know if we can do anything else for you. We are constantly learning new techniques and services. Thanks again!
Dr. Roche performed my breast augmentation surgery. I woke up one morning to find my left implant had collapsed. Of course I panicked, calling his office immediately. The nurse/receptionist said " sorry you are going to have to walk around for a week without a breast, but we can't get you in until then"!?! When I arrived for my appointment, Dr. Roche was not available to see me. ( I only met him for 20 min original consultation and on operating table) I was told it would be $2500 out of pocket to repair and that was only if I scheduled with them immediately. The price would go up if I was unable to schedule at that time. I am so frustrated that it wasn't even two years that I had just paid thousands of dollars for initial surgery and now I am being told it was going to cost possible 3k more? The fact that Dr. Roche wasn't available to see me, is even more upsetting and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I am not able to afford the surgery at this time. It has been four months and his office hasn't followed up with me...the entire situation makes me sick! When I am able to afford the surgery, why would I even consider going to him. I wish I would have considered more surgeons prior to making my decision. I would like to advise anyone considering having any type of cosmetic surgery to avoid this Dr.!
@unbelievablePtCare It is unfortunate that one of your implants had ruptured. That is an accepted risk of breast augmentation surgery, but it can be an unpleasant experience if one has to encounter such a problem. I would like to apologize for the stated scheduling difficulty. We do our best to accommodate every patient in every situation, at times we have even extended our business hours to accommodate everyone. I am sorry we could not get you in sooner. When a patient is in fact diagnosed with a rupture, the implant company will normally cover a portion of the re implantation if the company determines the rupture as "not a intentional rupture or self inflicted". This coverage is active for 10 years after surgery.
The fees charged by Dr. Roche would only be for the cost of the anesthesia and facility. Our office strives to keep all of our prices low especially for established patients.
Dr. Roche wants all patients to be happy with their entire experience. I understand you had posted this a while back but if you have any other issues or in need of any services, please consider coming back in for a visit so we can make this up to you and give you a positive experience. Thank you
Please be ware of this ###, he doesn't even deserve to be called Doctor. HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE STRIPPED AWAY FROM HIM. Roche is a horrible Dr. along with his staff (Especially his ###/assistant Tracey.) PLEASE DO NOT fall for his trap as I unfortunately did. He and his assistant will paint a beautiful picture for you and will promise you beautiful results that will not be delivered. They are usually ver nice when you first sit down and have a consultation with them but reality is that they are nice to you initially to attract you and suck your money, you will benefit nothing from their work, that's if you don't end up with a disfigured body part. BELIEVE ME, I'm speaking from a personal experience with them. They were really nice to me, and had a great consultation. When came time for the procedure, the horrible experience started with their Anesthesiologist who was an hour late, had a terrible attitude, looked like he was high when he came in and I felt like he wanted to kill me when he was poking me. I had the surgery and was released home and I was half way dead (Thank God I had a family member with me) I blocked out and collapsed the first night, which is something I wasn't made aware of when I had the consultation, they make it sound like it's a walk in the park, and IT IS NOT SO. I was also told that I was going to have 6 total incisions during the consultation and came to find out that I had a total of 14 incisions when I got home. I was told that I was going to be able to workout 2 weeks after the surgery, and I wasn't even able to walk on the treadmill even after 2 months after the procedure. And The most IMPORTANT part is that I ended up with a disfigures parts that I would have to find another Dr. I could trust to fix. I felt horrible and had no energy to do anything even months after the surgery. I felt nauseated and vomited after every workout I had even after months after the surgery. In addition to that I had gained weight and looked bigger instead of looking smaller as they had promised. I feel down and depressed because of the way the parts they worked on look, I feel like that was such a waist of my HEALTH, MONEY.
Dr Roche doesn't even bother to call you and ask about how you're doing after the surgery, his assistant doesn't even bother to call you (and that is the biggest proof that they don't give a ### about you after the surgery so long as they collected the money they wanted from you) Also the dr. does not see you when you go back for your follow up appt. after the surgery that goes to show you how pathetic this ### is.
PLEASE do not believe the positive reviews you're reading on this page or on any other page written about this Massacre. All the positive reviews you see (ARE WRITTEN BY HIS OWN STAFF) I was told this by a trusted source after I had my horrible experience with them.
Please think a million times before you fall for the traps of this ### and his staff. If you do chose him, you will be tossing your money, self esteem and health in the trash. Please be smarter and more patient than I am, do your research and chose a BETTER doctor than this ###.
I normally don't wish bad things upon people, but this guy will not getaway with what he's doing with people, if his license doesn't get pulled away and if he doesn't get shut down one day, I Know and Have Faith that God will not let him get away with what he's doing.
@ Real Patient I would like to know your identity so I can review your file and discuss your concerns and speculations in person. However, I will address a few of the minor issues here. Here at Dr. Roche’s office we do not set “traps”. We are highly trained professionals and our job is to educate all patients on the entire procedure. Even though most of our procedures are elective procedures, you are still having surgery. Every detail is very important. It is imperative that the patient follow all the pre-operative and post-operative directions. Our Anesthesiologists are Board Certified and work at St. Johns Hospital as well. They RARELY run late and if this indeed happened, I’m sure it was due to being held up on another case at the hospital. No one could change that outcome. Dr. Roche provides a very relaxed atmosphere on surgery days. No patient is ever rushed out. Yes, patients are groggy and even sometimes confused as you were just under general anesthesia and given narcotic medications. We always make sure every patient has a caregiver with them for the first 24 hours after surgery. Regardless of the procedure, you just had surgery. Everyone is dehydrated, medicated sometimes uncomfortable and need a caregiver. Dr. Roche prescribes medications to help keep patients as comfortable as possible but everyone has a different pain threshold. Every surgery patient is discharged with his personal phone number in case he is needed. A follow up call is always made to all surgery patients the following day as well. No exceptions. I understand you had undergone liposuction. You then mention that you had gained weight. Once liposuction is performed, a person still has to maintain the results with diet and exercise. Our office has hundreds of positive reviews. It is impossible for our staff to publish those reviews. If that was possible, every physician everywhere would have hundreds of positive reviews. Aging, I do not know your identity but I would like to gather more information from you and address your concerns with you and the doctor. We do not want any unhappy patients and we would like you to consider giving us the opportunity to resolve this. Please feel free to contact our office. Thank you
I know someone who worked for him, and doesnt work there any more.. OMG THE STORIES THAT I HEARD! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS MOTHER f***ER...
@tracyyyyy Please contact our office directly. I would like to know why you would state that you have “heard stories” about a physician’s office and then go as far as posting this comment. If you indeed know a previous employee and they are telling “stories” about our physician and patients, this is against HIPPA regulation and this person can be held accountable. Patient confidentiality is very important to our office. I would like to ask you to please reconsider your posted comment as you have never received services or had any experience with our office. This comment is untrue and very damaging to our practice. If this was the case, how could we have been business for over 25 years? Dr. Roche has thousands of happy patients.
Would anyone be willing to speak with a reporter about their experience with this doctor?
Please email at kbail@wxyz.com.
Loved my experience again! I have been a patient of Dr Roche for many years and have had a laundry list of procedures done by him and each time- have been extremely happy with my results. I find Tracey equally helpful and very caring. In my last procedure, I have had Active FX, fat/stem cell transfer and breast augmentation. In my very first appointment, both Tracey and Dr Roche took time to speak to me and answer my many questions. Once I had all the information, I was able to make a decision on what procedures I wanted to have done at this time. All I can say is he has kept my face, young looking and now my breast- lifted and fresh. I also find the after-care to be very upscale. The day after my surgery, I received a call from Tracey checking in on me. My first post-op visit, I had no wait, they saw me on time, answered all my questions and I am excited for my next appointment and to see the final results as time allows my body to heal. The office has even thrown in 6 zerona treatments! Two of my girlfriends are watching for those results so that they can schedule this procedure with him if it works! In saying all that- I guess people that chose cosmetic surgery should also consider their own expectations of the results. I think mine are realistic and well discussed at each time I have gone in for another touch up. I can guarantee that I will be back a few more times in my life time! I am quite confident that he has more happy pts than, not. I think sometimes the unhappy ones tend to have the louder voices which is unfortunate because the happy pts are busy enjoying life with their new look. If you are considering plastic surgery- do yourself a favor and visit Tracey and Dr Roche. They extend a very comfortable and informative consultation at no cost!
@Happy again! I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am glad that we continue to meet your expectations again and again. Be sure to check with our office often as we are constantly running specials and offering the latest technologies. When you send referrals make sure they tell us you sent them. You can receive free or discounted services for yourself! We hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again!
I had my surgery in 2005. The staff was wonderful, Dr Roche friendly. However immediately after surgery, I had 1 very high breast. They started treating me for a capsular contraction right away ( SO the comment above about not having a CC that soon is false if his staff was using steroid cremes and shots on me for a capsular contraction) Initially The rude women at the front desk told me "I must be a smoker" . I've never been a smoker, and it was completely uncalled for to insinuate that to a patient! I found out just a few weeks after surgery that I was Pregnant. So they refused to see me at all . I never even got to have my follow up appointments to ensure I was even healing properly. After searching online forums I found 2 (yes 2 women) Who had their surgeries the SAME day as myself (They were friends that went together) and we all had 1 capsular contracted breast and all had to switch to new Drs. One who actually took the time to see me, and make sure I was healing since Dr Roche and his staffs refusal to do so. Please go to someone board certified in the ACTUAL procedure you want done not just certified in other procedures. Save yourself time and money. I can't afford to fix his mistake after giving him my savings . I got 1 great breast, and 1 deformed one. If you are spending the money, save a little extra and see someone that will give patients the care they deserve and the RESPECT they deserve as well. You only get this one body, and he doesn't care what he does to it.
@tiffany I would like to apologize for the said comment from office staff. The said comment is neither professional nor acceptable. Capsular contracture is rare but more likely to happen to women who smoke. It is not known as to what causes the condition to form. It is an accepted risk of breast augmentation surgery and nothing more or less can be done by the physician to prevent it. I would like to explain that Dr. Roche could never refuse to see a patient, unless you had been legally discharged as a patient, in which he has probably done 2-3 times in over 25 years, so I do not believe this was the case with you. Dr. Roche is a Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon. No physician can be Board Certified in Breast Augmentation. Lastly, I know you stated you had your surgery back in 2005. We would like to review your case and see if we can do anything to have you as a happy patient of Dr. Roche’s.
I am very surprised, I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Roche and had amazing results and found him to be very helpful, kind, and invested in my surgery.
@annabell458 Thank you for sharing your experience. Dr. Roche has hundreds of happy patients and you are one of them! We are happy that we exceeded your expectations. You deserve it! Our office takes great pride in patient care and satisfaction. If you ever need anything we are here to help.
One of the worst surgeons and experience ever! I felt completely robbed of my $10, 000+ literally. Was black and blue, Money gone and no results to show for it. DISGUSTED
