scam and bad service!
I purchased a 2002 Jeep from Drive Time in November 2007. I was in a hurry as my old vehicle was having problems. I also have poor credit. The sticker price on the Jeep was over 16, 000. Two days later & too late. I found several other Jeep Grand Cherokee's at other dealerships that were 2004's, for around 12, 000. I called Drive Time to see if they would help me out & they said they could not do anything for me. Now I'm having problems with the transmission & power windows & can't get any help from this company. They are very rude & do not seem to care. They refer me to their repair people who are too far to get to.

My advice to anyone considering Drive Time... NEVER, EVER be late... not even one day! I had an unfortunate circumstance where I had to go out of state for a funeral-my aunt passed away. Honestly, my finances are tight. My payment was due right before I left. I called and told them I would be a day late, and got a lecture. The day that I was supposed to go in and pay, I found out that my aunt passed away. I stuffed some things into a suitcase, got the neighbor to watch the animals, and off I went on a 14 hour road trip. I used my payment money to get to the funeral.
I got back into town, and the repo guy had been calling the clubhouse manager of the condos where I live, wanting to take the truck. I called him back, and he told me he wasn't allowed to accept payment, that they wanted the truck back. This was the first payment I had been late on-so I called the dealership.They told me to come up and talk to one of the 'managers'-and told me they wanted the truck.
I went to talk to this manager-she was in a closed door meeting at the time with another employee. They were in a glass office-the cashier called her and told her I was there to see her-she took almost an hour to get to me. The two ladies in the glass office kept staring at me, one with dirty looks. Then they emerged, and the lady I talked with went to her manager, or that's who he claimed to be.
To make a long story short, they told me that I may not be able to keep my truck, even though I guaranteed the one late payment and the next one that was due. This is the kicker:
THEY ARE DEMANDING DOCUMENTATION THAT MY AUNT DIED... Like I'm some wayward infant. They completely humiliated me. I kept explaining my situation, and they are still telling me that they can't guarantee I can keep the truck. I think they believe that just because my credit is subprime, I deserve to be humiliated and treated like a 2-year old. I felt like a scolded child who was completely helpless while the two 'managers' sat there and browbeated me for 30 minutes. It was all I could do not to bust out crying.
They didn't seem at all satisfied until I told them that if I ever had to make that choice again, I would not go to a funeral of a close one. Instead, I would make that payment-the hell with my family. They are telling me it is up to corporate to determine if I can keep the vehicle. When I talked to corporate yesterday, they told me that it is up to the dealership. I am being given 24 hours to produce whatever documentation they deem necessary to prove my aunt died. I wonder if they can exhume my aunt's body and get the DNA? Wonder if that's what they'll ask for next...
I've been lucky-the vehicle I bought is actually in good condition and very nice. From what I've heard, not everyone has been lucky. Most of us go to this type of dealership for the same reason-our credit is messed up. They need to learn to treat people with dignity. I really can't believe that they are making me go through all of this. I'm ready to just tell them to come get the truck, rather than having to endure another verbal spanking from anyone at that dealership who thinks it is necessary.

I purchased a Ford 2006 Freestyle SEL March 4th 2016 here it is May 2nd 2016 the first night I had it less than 12 hours my son seen a roach now I have nothing but roaches in my car when I had to call them they said is not covered by my warranty and that was less than 24 hours after I got it I haven't autistic son that is petrified of the bugs any bugs for that matter they said my warrant was not covered by it they gave me a problem about my oil change my transmission slips and I can't even check my transmission fluid to see if it's low I get a letter every week sometimes two or three and I don't have insurance when I do I completely agree with it please include me in a lawsuit please feel free to contact me lisacoker41@gmail.com thank you for your time and consideration in this matter but I can't give up the car because I have nothing else and it's I put everything I had invested in this car

Companies that deal with high risk clients hear every excuse in the book as to why people don't make payments or return rented property and they don't want to run the risk of getting accused of targeting any one group so they are strict with everyone. It is not DT's fault that their customers have shown themselves to be untrustworthy in regards to borrowing money, and while they might not have the best customer service they need to be tought with their high risk customer in order to keep losses down. I don't know anything about their collections department, but if they are calling and harrassing customers for payments against the law you should document and file a claim. The fair debt collection act is very specific in what it allows a lender to do in regards to collections. In regards to the prices of their vehicles, DT probably makes the same as any other dealership after you figure in how many of their customers default on loans and don't pay in full. There are more expenses incurred in high risk lending so if you are in the market for a car and you have poor credit there are only two options pay a higher price and interest rate or pay cash for a cheaper and less reliable car.
i have just had a child and ill be out of work for 6 weeks all i get for matenity leave is 1000 dollars so i called drivetime to have 2 payments moved to the back of my loan these S.O.Bs told me since i do not have an income for these 6weeks they could not help me, but when i go back to work to call them and they would be willing to work with me then what bull when i go back to work i wont need there dang help. Having bad credit bars you from receiving quality customer service in every industry. Your credit automatically tells a creditor that you are a risk. You, and all other DT customers are high risk. The system that's used when financing people with poor credit is based upon a risk, reward system. The higher the risk (bad credit), the higher the reward (higher rates and poor quality vehicles) yields greater profits for the dealer.
On another note, how did you get a 2005 Camry from DriveTime? 99.9% of their vehicles are domestic (produced within the United States). I'm astonished by the fact that you returned a Toyota. Also, the proper spelling is m-a-l-t-r-e-a-t-m-e-n-t, not mal treatment.

Bought an 05 Camry from drivetime. After one day check engine light came on. The vehicle was not fairly priced and was not mechanically sound. Just because your credit is poor does not mean you deserve mal treatment. Life happens and when things are bad it is very easy to ruin your credit. Thank God, they do have a three day vehicle return agreement. The car has to be driven under a certain number of miles and in same condition as purchased. Tou do have to pay a restocking fee of $175. The thing that really makes no sense to me, is that I paid cash down payment, but for some reason I have to wait seven days to receive a check.

Your credit has kept you from purchasing/leasing/financing a vehicle from a better dealership. Be glad that someone is willing to release a vehicle to you without full payment upfront. This business is based upon the risk reward system. The higher the risk (you, because you have an established history of not paying those who loan you money), the higher the reward needs to be (Banks/dealers charge you so much because they are assuming all of the risk, therefore, you don't get to bargain with selling price, interest rate, or monthly payment) for the seller because they already know that you probably won't pay the money back.
Quit complaining about how poorly you were treated. The girl that went out of town, boo hew. You owed a payment, you didn't make the payment, you suffered the consequences. You are an adult, take responsibility for your actions. Do not complain when your vehicle is repossessed if you are in default. Your contact, which you should have read prior to purchasing, clearly states that you are required to pay on a certain date. None of this should come as a surprise to anyone.
Let's be honest...you have the right to [censor] and moan about how you were treated. People with lower credit will always be judged. Your credit is always a direct result of your past. Bite the bullet, make the payments, and move on. I have seen people benefit from financing vehicles with Just Right Auto Sales, JD BYRYDER, and Drivetime. You can only blame yourself for your credit. ### DRIVE TIME! I have never experienced a more ### group of attitudes. Every person in that building had a sense that they were doing me a favor. When they told me what I qualified for, they then began to tell me that regardless of a cars dollar price, I couldnt get into the one I wanted. No. Instead, I had to look at the ones they wanted me to look at. If I wanted to get into another car at the same price, suddenly, my down payment went up. Deciding NOT to buy a car from these people was the best decision Ive made in a very long time. They RAPE people on a DAILY basis there. Whats the most ###ed up part about it is, they have a sense that we should be thankful for the BUTT ###. Thank you Drive Time. Could you please RAPE ME HARDER! I ended up buying a car at a regular dealership. I only got RAPED with a little dick there. My advice, RUN! RUN away and never even go close to those ###s. I purchased a vehicle in San Antonio, TX 4 months ago. Reading the other complaints I would hope in time that the State of Texas wakes up to the unlawful practices of DriveTime.
Though my car is running very well, it is not because of DriveTime's mechanics. In fact the mechanics had no idea what they were doing and literally cut my horn wires.
My only reason to go to DriveTime is because I am self-employed and the dealerships in Texas want to see "real employment", why the State of Texas does not see self-employment as real is beyond me. My point I needed a car for my business, I didn't have to put very much down, I am happy that I chose wisely. My biggest complaint is that now after paying on time each month and today only being late 2 days I have had corporate call my shop over 3 times. Yes, their extremely rude their tactics are awful. Even after the manager wrote that payment was to be made on a certain date and not to call, corporate "nazis" and I am being very nice here called again.
As I stated to corporate - read customer service tactics, it pays to be nice, I am going to make sure that I don't refer anyone to DriveTime and I am going to do it until I can trade the car in or as some just give it back. Its funny to me how they state there is no grace period but state it only that the interest will compound daily yet still state they will come after the car.
Please State of Texas wake up - shut DriveTime down or at least investigate how many illegals are working for this company. There are laws.
Drivetime is extremely unprofessional, rude, law breakers. This company filled in my name on paperwork and submitted with a unrelated signed form saying I gave permission to have my personal information released to them from my employer after I have had this car for three years. I am current in payments etc.. even though the car has not run in two years. It stems from the fact that I do not return phone calls when they start calling the day after the payment is due. I usually wait a few days to make the payment because I am so disgusted with this company. They violate the law every month...I encourage anyone who has done business with this company to checkout: http://www.driveslime.com and offer your stories / comments etc...to expose these people and bring them to justice.

The comments here are so familier to me. I too had a car from DriveTime, as did my son. We both went through the same things with them as everyone else here has. If we were one day late with our payments, the calls would start (even if we called them first to make arrangments). I once even accused them of not putting notes in their records of the conversation we would have with their customer service because with every phone call, they acted as if we had never spoken to anyone before that. We too got tired of the phone calls and stopped responding, or even calling them when we were late with our payments, because it did no good to speak to them. As far as the conditions of the cars when we first bought them; my son had immediate problems with his car overheating, and when he took it to DriveTime mechanics, they told him that the problem was not theirs to fix , because it was not part of the warranty (that was only a week after purchasing his car from them), and when he called the dealership where he bought the car, they acted like they were perplexed as to why their mechanics would say they couldn't fix it, but he was never able to get the mechanics to agree with the dealership people, so the problem never got fixed by them. The first hour after I bought my car from them, I was driving down a busy street and came to a stop at an intersection. The car started making a horrible scraping and clunking noise. I pulled into a parking lot and my son took a look at it and found that the brake caliper had lost a bolt (good thing I wasn't on the freeway). When I called the dealership, I was told that they would send a tow truck and have it towed to their mechanic shop, but that it would take three days to get it fixed. While waiting for the tow truck, my son walked to the nearest car parts store, bought the needed bolt and fixed the caliper for me (so why would it have taken DriveTime three days to fix it?) By that time, the tow truck had never shown up, so I called DriveTime back and told them that my son had fixed it. But they hadn't even called the tow truck yet - after an hour had passed! The car ran ok for the first couple of years after that, then it started having transmission problems - something a 4 year old car shouldn't be having already. It would not shift right away (automatic), and when it did, it would slam into gear and the engine light would come on and I would lose my passing gear. When I turned off the engine, and restart it the problem would dissappear until the next time it did that. One time it got stuck in first gear. From day one, I was suspicious that the car had been in an accident because the car always pulled to the left while driving, and when I first purchased the car, I found paperwork from a collision repair shop in the glove compartment. I suspected that the car had been in a roll-over accident because it had an area of unmatched paint from the front passenger side of the car up to the roof.
Three years later, I am now driving an older car that I purchased with cash, as is my son, and we no longer have to deal with DriveTime's harrassing calls. I am so happy to have a car sitting in my driveway that belongs to me, even it is an older car, and it is in much better condition than the one I had from DriveTime. If I have to make repairs to this older vehicle, it is nothing in comparison to the outrageous payments of over $400 a month that I was paying DriveTime, plus my insurance is much, much cheaper too! If anyone can dump those DriveTime cars, I say do it and do it now.
I agree all Drive Times should be investigated and closed. I bought my car almost 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with them every since. The car I purchased had a bad transmission and igination and was suppose to be fixed and never was. We had to spend $2,500 to get to get teh transmission rebuilt and we explained it to them they said we qualified on getting a credit for half of what we paid and now it has been over a year and nothing as been credited and so on. I have written letter and called so many times I get even more upset thinking of all teh time we have spent on this crap. They also failed to tell us that the car had been stolen before hand but what should expect from a company that rips people off. If you are smart you will never purchase a car from them in any state that they do business in. I have paid almost $22k for a car that Kelly Blue Book at the time of purchase was $12k. The company is a joke and should be reimbursing all its cusomers for the damages and stress it as creadited in our lives. I have never been able to get a hold of anyone at corporate or teh location we purchased the car from, it seems that they lie and give you fake names when you speak to someone because if you call back to follow up on something or you return thier call that person does not work there and myserously they regard your calls to them and enter notes but somehow they all disappear. BEWARE of this company and I ask everyone to spread the word to everyone you know and ever met not to buy or do business with them EVER.
Drivetime needs to be shut down in Florida as well. That place reminds me of Satan...in the way that they are all nice and sweet in the showroom and promise you anything to get you to sign the paperwork, but as soon as you are off the lot, the horns come out and it suddenly gets very hot. Now, my vehicle has run pretty good in the two years we've had it. The main problem is stemming from the fact that it is a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am and has a anti-theft device called Passlock, and since we do not have the original key, sometimes when you go to start it up, it will detect that you are tampering with the car and shut off the fuel supply, therefore, not allowing your car to be started, or "stolen" and you have to wait 10 minutes to try again. This can be very annoying. This isn't even the biggest problem I have though. I was told by the salesman on the lot that it was very important to pay the first 6 months on time, to establish a good payment history and after that time if I had issues, they could help me out. Well, that was just a crock of crap now wasn't it? The bi-weekly payments are sometimes hard for me to do and I asked if I could do montly and I would even pay a little extra and I was told NO. Okay, fair enough. So, I was a little short on my payment so I paid the full payment and half of another. The following payment I did the same thing, plus some extra for fees and such. Corporate keeps calling me and its pissing me off. Once before my husband went in the dealership to make a payment and he was late by a day or so and they had someone come out and talk to him...for almost half an hour. Sheesh. It's like you can't just pay up and be done, they have to lecture you and everything. Banks who loan you money are more flexible than these bloodsuckers. I'm like, well I could call them back, but I don't feel that I should have to, since I have paid up my payment to them. What could they want besides harassing me over the phone? Also, I got tired of trying to be up front and call them if I knew I'd be short or late on a payment because they sit there and say "can't you borrow the money from someone?" Um, no, if I could I would've by now. Besides that, I pay a total of 410 a month for a car that was 4 years old when I got a hold of it. I've paid less for a newer car, even with my credit. The point is, when I got this car I was in pinch and I didn't have alot for a down payment. When I pay this vehicle off next year, I will never come within a foot of a Drivetime dealership and I would never refer anyone I cared about to them either. For those of you who know what I am talking about, when corporate calls you and they leave a message, they sound the same each time, like it's the same person calling, but they leave different names. If you call and ask for the person who called you, they are mysteriously never there. Weird.
drive-time is refusing payment
Purchased a car from drive-time last month. Made first payment on second payment was 10 days late. Tried to make payment and drive-time is refusing payment. Wants car to be returned. Drive-time refuses any type of arrangement. Has sent out for repossession. Drive-time in San Antonio is refusing to give me the phone number to the main office to try to make arrangements.

Don't feel bad about it, I made my payment on time for 2 years (early) and recieved collection notices and nasty phone calls from a guy in San Antonio named "Domingo" in the collection department. Later this year when my account was still current I got a demand letter for a $1686.00 dollar payment that wad due along with my regular payment of $424.00 or surrender the car. This amount was not written on the contract nor did I recieved a letter. Well I got a notice from my Credit Protection agency stating Drive Time Charged Off my loan as a loss.
Of course they reported the car to the police Department as a repo and I surrendered it last month to avoid being arrested for their stupidity.

drivetime preys on people who need help
I purchased a vehicle from DriveTime in October '06. The people in the showroom were very friendly, really too friendly. I bought a vehicle because I needed one. If I could have purchased the same vehicle new, it would have cost me less. The price I paid for the '01 Ford Focus was a rip-off. The bluebook on the vehicle was $3300 less than what I paid for it. I was told the vehicle had just one previous owner, a little old lady in Sarasota.
Why didn't I listen to the horns and sirens that were going off in my head? I needed a car. The check engine light was on when I started the car to leave. When I said something to a salesman outside, he said not to worry, they go off all the time - OK.
With 1 week, I was driving and the gas pedal wouldn't work. The car didn't have any acceleration. A few feet later the car died, on a busy road. When I called DriveTime and asked for help, they said I had to the Warranty Department. I did and they were closed already for the week. It was 3:20 on a Friday afternoon. When I called the store I purchased the vehicle from, the Sales Manager seemed to know exactly what was wrong - the compressor.
This is real nice, I live in FL, it is hot and humid here 11 months of the year. The salesman wouldn't help me and when I spoke with the manager, I was told someone would contact me back, that was 3 weeks ago. I filed a Lemon Law Complaint with the Better Business Bureau but haven't heard anything yet. When I took this car to a real mechanic, I was told: "The oil hasn't been changed in at least 9000 miles, the tires are bare, the compressor is out (like I needed to know that) and the brakes would go out.
Now, when I spoke with someone from the Warranty Department the following Monday, I was told the oil was changed the week before I purchased it, there were new brakes, there were 2 new tires on the car. I'd really like to know where those 2 new tires are, they're not on the vehicle I have. I thought I was the only one who got the shaft, I didn't realize it was everyone who went in there. Also, this car, according to a vehicle history report I received, not the non-existent one from Experian, this vehicle has been bought, repossessed and resold more times than I had the patience to weed through.
DriveTime preys on people like me, who need help. Yes, they do not give a crap about the vehicle they've sold you. But, if you are late on a payment, you'd better have Caller-ID, they are on you like a fly on you know what.

I fell for the Drivetime ads and was supposedly approved for $735 down, $435/mo. When I approached the dealership I noticed right away how the inventory was all these older model cars. My radar was going off to leave. So I went through the paperwork and stated I was looking for low mileage and at least 2017 and above. They told me I only qualified for a 2014 Jeep with 70,000 miles and I’d need $4000 down! I left, went to CarMax and was approved and rode out same day with a 2020 Kia Soul, with only 9785 miles! My down payment was $2000! Go to CarMax. They have a huge inventory of wonderful low mileage cars. I’m telling everyone I know to NOT go to Drivetime.
My husband brought 2008 Honda Accord. We haven't had the car for 5 days and decided to return it because it is to small and we stay on a dirt road and the car sits low. My husband had called Drive Time and they told us we can switch the car out and asked how many miles is on the car. He told them and they said that we were only allowed 300 miles during the test run. My husband wasn't aware of that and they told him that we would be charged 1.00 per mile which added to 248 dollars and that would be deducted from our down payment. I have never heard of anything like this. So in other words we would have to come up with more money in order to be placed in another vehicle and when the company did his paperwork, they put the wrong SSN on the application and the finance company had called and told my husband that he needs to go back to the place where we purchased the car and redo the paperwork. Drive Time can say what they want and try to make it look like they are actually trying to help people, well you help people by not trying to use the fact that people needs vehicles so I"ll sell you whats available to you but its a bad deal. Being thoural is essential and not only that why is it that difficult to be switch out a car. This is rediculous. Everybody is not the same regardless of what Drive Time say. People do need second chances, but don't use it as a tool to bully your customers. Its degrading enough when you are already in a bad situation and then find out that a reputible company that comes on TV and make themselves look good but only to find that there are hidden issues in the contract that makes it difficult for the the customers. I'm sorry Drive Time. What we are dealing with sounds like a rip off to us. How are you going to charge someone for mileage. This is not a rental. So for us yes it looks like we are going to have issues with this company also. We were really trying to get back on our feet. Dianne B

On Saturday, April 8 I was at Drive Time in Waukegan and I received the worst customer service ever. I am legally blind and I was told that I could not purchase a car in my name and using my credit without a driver’s license. I explained that I don’t have a license due to my disability and I was still denied the right the purchase a car. I was actually asked why I needed a car. Drive Time does not respect the rights to accommodations or the buying power of individuals with disabilities. I went down the road to Rosen and received top notch customer service AND I was able to purchase a nicer vehicle at a lower interest rate….in my name, with my credit.
First off you approve everyone then after you dont help the person if they need the payment less, its my first car and its the worst place i could think i can build my credit and also i only had the car for 2 months and it had over 5000 worth of issues on it the first 2 weeks of getting it and the car was forced on me without me asking for that one. They pick your car not YOU

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... IT IS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE! I understand sometimes our finances get in a rut and you have to do some things just to survive but buying from this place will cause you more stress than you had before. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this place, starting with the wrecked car they sold me that they patched up good enough just to leave off the lot and then things start to fall off the vehicle within a week. After purchase I made my first payment in October 2015, month later (November) I was given a referral bonus (which I had no idea I was receiving) but because I was not aware I had to cancel my auto-pay they debited my bank account and caused several transactions to not clear my bank as well as being charged NSF fees with my bank. Well the following month I went to make a payment and I noticed I was charged a NSF fee by DriveTime for the payment they tried to debit that they had already received from my referral bonus. And by the way when you ask to speak to a supervisor they tell you they don't have supervisors, everyone is an equal employee, but when the CSR needs assistance with processing information or they have questions they say let me put you on hold to talk to my supervisor. This company needs to be SHUT DOWN! It's already bad enough they RAPE, ROB AND KILL you with the interest rate, which I thought such high interest rates were illegal as well as raising the prices of these vehicles to outrageous prices. But what's even more sad is that I've seen countless reviews and reports of bad business from this company, but no one from the corporate office ever replies to address the issues (non executive employees don't count). They are just blatantly in your face saying: "we do not care about our customers", "we are only here to take your money", "we don't care if we give misinformation or we don't give any information", "At any expense rip off any and everybody that you can". Please educate yourselves before you purchase a car from these people, don't be blinded like me. I use to ask myself when I first bought this car and all the issues started, "I wonder how RAYMOND C. FIDEL- CEO, MARK G. SAUDER -CFO and JON D. EHLINGER- EVP can sleep at night knowing their consumers/customers are not being treated as if they value all that high interest and money they receive from selling over priced vehicles. And it dawned on me, they're sleeping pretty good off our dime while many of their customers miss sleep due to their bad business practices. If all possible stay away!
We have had the same issues with drivetime, we bought a 2006 dodge ram in 2010, the day after we bought it the vehicle started surging while at a stop, the air conditioner then went out. The vehicle went in for warranty, they fixed the air conditoning at the AAMCO where they warranty it in Sanford Florida. 2 weeks later the air conditioner went out, and they would not cover the repair, we contacted corporate office for warranty and they told us that they would not cover it but we could maybe pay half and they would add the rest to the vehicle contract. The vehicle is like all the others that we have read about, drive it off the lot and it breaks. When they sell you the vehicle they brag about the warranty... lmao what a sales pitch that is, they might as well put a hammer, screwdriver and pair of pliers in the trunk for you, cause you would be better off... Stay away from Drivetime! this company should be shut down and forced to pay for all of their gimmicks...

Most of you people are weird. I don't work for DriveTime, but I'm considering a position with them. The most common thread I have found here is, "it's too expensive". Ironically enough, you know exactly what the "out the door" price is and what you're bi-weekly payment is, too. If you don't know what your budget is and you're just getting a car based on impulse, then that's your ignorant way of dealing with life and that's probably why your credit is bad to begin with.
DT does not prey on people who need help. It's you that needs the help. YOU all walked into the dealership and YOU sat with one of the sales people and YOU signed on the bottom line. With some of the credit scores I've read about, you don't have a chance in hell of getting a traditional loan from one of the national car dealerships.
If you wouldn't have screwed up your credit to begin with, you wouldn't be in the position you're in. You people eff everything up and then file for bankrupcy. WTF! Who do you think pays that price... It's me and the other tax payers in this country. That's why DT's prices are high and why they have high interest rates. Stop screwing up your world and you wouldn't be in this mess. Stop victimizing yourself and grow a pair. Realize that you're in this situation because of you... otherwise, you wouldn't be utilizing a service like DT. You pay the outrageous interest rates for a year or two and learn how to live your life more responsibly. Then, you refi at a better rate and work specifically to better your credit score and get your payment down.
You can go to DT and get a halfway decent car, at a higher price and have the 6-month, 6, 000 mile warranty... or you can go to an actual dealership. They have an AS-IS lot with cars under $10K... but it's AS-IS... no warranty and if the car is even close to 100, 000 miles (which is what it takes to get on the AS-IS lot)... you won't be able to get it financed.
Not everything works for everyone. If you feel you've been screwed over by DT, get off your ### and make a complaint with the AG in your state. It's ridiculous how lazy and ignorant you people are. It's really disgusting knowing how many of you have already FUBAR'd your lives and credit history and now you want the rest of us to feel bad for you because you buy more stuff you really can't afford.

Drive Time car dealer Phoenix. I have a couple that bought a car from drive time they got behind on payments ,they would calll my house so i decided to put my name on contract and change name on title only, the main office said they would do that and i would need to bring it up to date to do that so i did , they told me at the main office in chandler i could pay 250.00 a month ,so i sent them 250.00 on the 1st.of the month then they call and say im late that i need to pay more ,so i made another agreement that if i would give them a check by phone on the 1st of october i could come in by the 13th to redo contract and pay monthly ,but a week after the 1st they call and say they made a human error and i had to give them 18.00 dollars and if i didnt pay it then they wanted 260.00 from the ones that i was helping, so i made anothetr agreement with them that i would pay 250.00 each month plus 100.00 every friday ,then they call up and tell me i cant do that that i was behind on payments , i also have recorded some of the conversations with them which i had their permissin to do ,the last time they call i asked to talk to the person i talked to on the day before i was informed by another person that he quiot ,so the othe day the guy that was suppose to have quit called and i told him that i was tod he quit then he informed me that the person that told me dont work there, i would not recomend anyone to bye from them they are rude on phone they laugh at you cuss you. They are out to suck you dry they change their likings so beware!
purchased a car in June from Drive time - I let them know immediately about noises. It still is not fixed, going in the shop a third time. Warranty won't cover issues that are clearly with this car/year. Yesterday, my grandson and I almost got killed when the car did not move in the intersection. It happened about a month ago
Sold a lemon. The vehicle they dold me was in a accident but claims just a used one. Constant repairs since April 2023 when they kept the SUV almost one month with low reimbursement on Ubers. Plus financial charged in Illinois are very high. Also lawyers keep calling drive time.
The company who bought drive time known as bridgecrest call 3 or 4 times a day after we have talked to them about when our next payment would be made i call it harasment..the lease agreement is a joke..these people know we are on a fixed income and drivetime knew it when they sold us the lease..

This company is predatory lending company. You purchase a vehicle for $21, 000.00 and end up paying $70, 00.00. You make payments of $418.00 per month and only $88.00 goes toward your payment. This is so wrong on so many levels
Vehicle sold to myself and grandfather at 12K mark up price the vehicle is worth 1200.00 . We feel like we were taken advantage of, the staff never let us pick another sales person brought keys to our sales lady, stopped every thing and took us to a Kia Forte.
Me and my fiance purchased a car from drivetime they never told us it was once a rental car we have had nothing but trouble with it we've contacted them asking to get something else they pretty much said to bad we want our money we keep paying on it the blue book value is 6k at best we still owe 14900 on it the price keeps going up and up

I brought my car from this car lot in 12/2018, and from a week when i purchased the vehicle it has been problem after problem first it was the headlights then it was the tracking keeps slipping and now the check engine light is on. I want to give this vehicle back with no strings attached i would rather walk.

HMMM, I love these DT complaints, so like i tell everyone else. the only person you have to blame is...YOU! They state in their contract the price, the interest, and the total amount that they are going to charge you for a car. Guess what... you agreed to all of that by signing a CONTRACT with them. DUH! So all these talks about suing is dumb. if you didn't agree to the terms and conditions, you would not have signed the contract and thus would not be in this situation to begin with.
So what did we learn? Spend a few minutes shopping before you drop $ 16, 000 on a vehicle.
PS: even $12, 000 is a bit too much.
