We changed our internet and cell provider to Eastlink in December. They didn't cancel our service with our previous provider as promised. We therefore continued to receive and pay invoices from that provider to be told we would be credited that amount. This is now May 25th and they haven't done that. I was told at the initial complaint in March to fax all my invoices over which I did and was promised a credit would go through on our account.
Today I contacted them and was told that faxing isn't they way do it and I need to go online to submit my claim! I was on chat with them for over 40 minutes.
So disappointed!

Was listening to music via Wi-Fi internet connection and suddenly lost connection. Called to inquire and "Chris" says it's a fibre op line problem. I asked how that could be when fibre op is not even offered in my area and he rudely replied that all eastlink service is fibre op whether it's offered or not. Asked if there were any more questions and hung up before I could decide if there was or not.
Called back hoping to get just a recording to say how long the outage would be or at least a different service person but no... I get Chris again. I mentioned he hung up before i was done so he asked what it was. Asked my question and he says they don't answer that. When it's fixed it'll come back on and I'll be good to go was his answer. Then he asked if I was done with my questions now. His whole attitude was rude and uncalled for. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said there wasn't one available. So is that why he gets away with being so rude? EASTLINK IS treading on thin ice as it is due to unexplained outages and or poor service in general and then you make me speak with that sort of service rep? I worked at an inbound centre for the US for a few years and that wouldn't have been accepted.

I have been with Eastlink for almost 2 years and within those 2 years, my bill has gone from $81 to $109. I have not changed nor upgraded. My service has not improved but has been sufficient. Unfortunately, where I live there are no other providers unless I want satellite which is the same amount in rate plans.
They know that they have no competition and I'm am being milked for all its worth. Trust me if I had options I would be thrilled to cancel with East link.
rural connect install cancelled
I had called to have rural connect hooked up, was informed I would have to pay $100 deposit up front, paid it via visa, as I was told it would be instant, the day before, was not contacted to let me know the installation was cancelled that my deposit wasn't received in time. I missed a full day of work 8-5:30, waiting for an installer that was never going to arrive. Called at 4:40 after I used my very valuable wireless data to check the link in the text, that informed me of the cancellation. Was rebooked for 2 weeks away... That is ridiculous, 2 weeks is insane. I asked for my deposit back and the customer care person said my install would then be cancelled. I also asked to speak with a manager and was put off, saying they ONLY deal with rural connect sales and billing. Denial of speaking with a manager, stating there's nothing anyone could do for me. I'm very unsatisfied with the service today, Eastlink was my go to, always pleasing to speak with, not at all was I was expecting to get from you folks.

Just so people know if you have wireless cable and move, you better check your bill Today i noticed i have been charged for 9 months for an additional outlet I dont even have. Their answer was they can only credit me for 3 months. It is up to us the bill receiver to notice. that's a bunch of crap! This is the third time this has happened to me in 5 years. every time I move it happens. Seriously thinking about switching companies. i just lost 6.85 per month for 6 months due to our responsibility of paying attention to the bill

This complaint is more commentary than hard core [censor]ing. I have spoken to your customer service department in regards to the situation.
We had a technician service guy come to our house this morning. Not the usual fella that comes. He was punchy and choppy in manner which was fine, I understood it, he wasn't rude or anything, just under pressure. He said he was doing both service calls and maintenance today and had a full day.
He came to fix our pixelated, interrupted television service. He said the signal was weak and he did his thing inside and outside to boost the service both with the internet and television issue. Wonderful! He explained the waves of strength and where it needed to be.
I asked him if he was going to change out the PVR before he left, a request I made when I called, since he was coming anyway, to swap the two, the basement one with the living room tv modem and he did that. He however left a plug hanging out of our pioneer sound system and said this plug (for I don't know what) shouldn't be in there anyway. Yadda, yadda, yadda...technician speak. I asked what it was for and shouldn't he plug everything back in and he basically eluded he was doing me a favour doing this switch, because usually Eastlink charges $27 for the service of moving the devices. Well, I said, "what if it doesn't work the way we had it?", he asked how old my kids are, (17 and 23) "they'll figure it out." was his response. He wasn't there to put other systems back in play, he said in words to that affect.
I have three accounts of varying sorts with Eastlink. Two of them are business related. One thing I do with people in my business is, under promise and over deliver if I can. Today however, I got the bums rush, so to speak. I could see he was overbooked today and stressed but by the end of today, I do not have Netflix back up (likely a password issue) and my sons Xbox has no picture because this fella could not give me a few more minutes of his time and make sure all the ingredients were working whether they were Eastlink products or not. Not cool.
Like I said, he was an okay guy, he just needed to make the experience better so I am not calling you back with a problem of his making because he couldn't be bothered to help me with the other components and plug everything back in. You just don't leave it to the customer to muddle through the rest.
That's my rant. Not pissed or anything but not happy either. ...nor are my sons.

About 6 months ago I had a problem trying to get wifi removed They tried to do it over the phone and broke my hone {vip} and knocked me offline They could not fix it so I said you broke it you fix it They sent a guy to fix it Which took about 5 min Ok Great A week later I got my new monthly bill and they charged me $80 to fix what they broke I called and complained about what They broke So I should not have to pay $80 They said they would get back to me after about 20 min of argument About a week later I got a call say they have decided to refund my money Ok great 2 weeks later when I go my new monthly bill my bill was $13 more per month So I called again and they said they made an ajustment to my account...So they got there money back this way and more A SCAM then today I was on the net and Eastlink popped up with another scam Spin the dial and try to win a Samsung phone I spun and it said Congrate you have won so I went on with it when you try to collect your NEW phone HAHA you get directed to another scam site Los Vegas but no way to collect phone. This happened months ago also and I won famous face cream Just pay $6.95 shipping I did and guess what I never received face cream Another scam. You ask why am I still with Eastlink is because I am in a Eastlink installed apartment building and I have no choice Always check your bill and Never reply to eastlink scams online
Warning Eastlink is sending bills to people who never had their services, when you call them about it they make up excuses and give you a run around and don't fix the problem and before you know it you have a bill from some collection agency causing you to have a bad credit rating . Also they remove TV channels and lower your internet speed, so you have to keep checking your services.

I have been with eastlink for many many years. They recently, without letting me know about it, raised my bundle price by more than 30% each month. I maintained payments each month the amount that i was paying all along, and finally got a letter from them with an outrageous overdo balance. Now i know that i was one month in arrears, but when i got the bill from them with numerous months of the newer increased rate, and the arrears, it seemed insane. i should have had an arrears of about $155.00 but instead, it was about $400.00. i called to complain, but they just said that i had to pay all arrears before they would even entertain the idea of a lower rate. Are all companies as inconsiderate as EASTLINK.

I purchased a cell phone from Eastlink. It stopped working. I attempted to go into a Eastlink store for assistance but they were of no help whatsoever. They sent me across the street to a cell phone repair shop. The repair shop couldn't correct the charging issues I was experiencing. After contacting Eastlink's customer care via email, here is the reply I received:
"Thank you for your recent reply, as requested the service has been suspended, If you are willing to get another device due to the issues that you are having with your device, We would be willing to give a 25 dollar credit towards your bill due to the inconvenience, If we can assist you further, please reply to this email."
That is the saddest excuse of an email that I have ever received from a company. They mention a $25 credit but that would only cover my $25 re-connection fee if I elected to purchase a new phone with them. No mention of that in that terrible reply.
I would strongly suggest that you stay away.

My mother has had cable for many years, she had been living in the seniors units in Hythe, AB and has now moved into the Hythe Pioneer Home. Apparently it must be 7 years ago that Eastlink had bought out Persona, Persona had established a seniors discount and this was applied to thier monthly invoices. In December 2014 I had her cable moved from the respite room in the Pioneer Home to a permanent room in the Pioneer Home (she moved from the west wing to the east wing). On her December 2014 bill it is still showing the seniors discount but now on the January bill there is no discount. I spoke with a supervisor with Eastlink, his name is Kevin, and he proceeds to inform me that Eastlink does not have that policy (seniors discount) and out of good faith he is going to give mom the discount of $20.00 for six months only. He said that she shouldn't of had it anyways, so my argument is that if they did not have the seniors discount why was it NOT taken off 7 years ago. How can they take back something like this with no written notice. The cable is not the same as the neighbouring towns (it is substanially less) but yet they are charged the same for the service that is provided in the other towns. How can these company get away with this, this is all totally unacceptable.
Eastlink supply a wireless modem/Router then charge $10 a month to keep the wireless turned on the router, if you logon to the router and turn it on yourself, every 30 minutes they send a signal down the cable to turn it off again, in NS where I live im stuck with them I have no other provider to turn to

My family pays big bucks from high speed wireless internet, home phone and and tv from Eastlink. I am very dissatisfied with Eastlink's service.
Some of the problems including-
Very inexact appointment times for a tech to come to your house (between 12 and 5). I waited 5 hours while the rest of my family got to go to the beach and they simply did not show up. They never called to say they couldn't make it and there was no apology. Big f*****g waste of my time.
I need my parents permission to speak to them even though I'm over 19.
We have been having problems with our wireless for more than a month, it randomly doesn't work and sometimes its works. You can never rely on it.
I was talking to internet support and the woman said she was going to help me and then she simply hung up and the phone wouldn't work for about 15 mins after that.
They are making us pay for a service that we aren't even getting reliably. I can't even count on them to come in the very inexact time scheme they give us.
Right now the "On Demand" doesn't work.
Their next appointment for a tech to come out was tomorrow but I will have to waste my day again while my family goes swimming and has fun and maybe they will not even bother to show up.

I waited twice for over 2 hours for someone to answer my call. The person answering identified themselve as being in South Africa and didn't speak English that was comprehensible. After my last unsuccessful call, after waiting 2 hrs, we decided after many years with eastlink that it was time for a change. Purple Cow is our choice. They offer text msg service that is, after a 5 minute wait, successful correcting or explaining how to adjust my settings to fix any issues we may have. Works great with the inexpensive fire stick.1000's of channels.
Eastlink has become a company that pays other countries for our service, lose of local jobs and customer service employees who actually work to correct the issues. This decision by eastlink creates a bigger profit for the them by paying other countries, who in turn pay their employees low wages. I received a call from the Eastlink telemarketing company back in early December 2008 asking me to switch cable services. They told me if I would agree to get their digital cable and internet service they would give me 4 free months of the digital theme packs. I agreed and had the service installed. Ever since I signed on with this company I have had nothing but problems ranging from rude and disrespectful customer service agents to having to wait up to three weeks for technical support to come a fix any problem that was occurring with my internet or cable. BUT the most disappointing and angering of all is that fact that this company did NOT honor their promise to give me four free months of digital theme packs; I was cut off in March. I called and expressed my frustration and was simply told that they never ever given such a promotion to anyone, basically calling me a liar. I am not the only one that has experienced problems with this company. I hope that whoever reads this will think twice before trusting anything that Easlinks tells you as the truth.

I have tried getting through to customer service phone number for a total of 9 hours over 2 weeks. All just to change my service address because I moved. I work long hours outside of their office hours and cannot make it in. The online chat doesn't work. The text help doesn't work. I have no service now for 7 days... And counting. June 28-July 7

Have been using Eastlink internet for the past 4 years but i noticed have not getting my billing notification. I called your customer service department and got no satisfactory reason.

We used Internet service at Eastlink, which was fine.
After we sold the home and cancelled our service, we were billed for security equipment. We never received any security equipment or had a security service with Eastlink.
I've contacted customer service twice, and this issue has yet to be resolved.

Had an appointment today for installation aug 9 from 12-5. Ok made arrangements for this no problem as were on vacation. Tech called at 3:00 to say he couldn't come. Was a beautiful Friday afternoon so likely story. I just decided to leave bell to go to Eastlink and now I'm second guessing that decision. Terrible.
having travled all over north amearica eastlink has the WORST cable system I have ever seen. every week is a new problem with the cable tv. I would not recommend eastlink to anyone. I am sorry that where we are it is our only option.

Being the only high speed and cable company in Omemee, they decided not to provide service to my house, when my neighbor has it... crazy.. they say I am not in their service area, I get my neighbors wifi... this is stupid... the only supplier will not supply...
