RUN as far and as fast away from this company as you can! Do not do anything with this company. They are far from honest and when you have an issue they try to claim that you did business with a company called MEB or Make Everything Better. Early July, Ecovole had salesman going door to door offering solar installation. We have considered solar before but have been told we could not benefit due to our trees. We asked the sales rep, Savanna Almendarez, if this would be an issue and she said no. So we invited her in and she presented to us that they could take our average Evergy and create a system that would create an average of what we needed based upon our average energy usage with Evergy. She drew up the contract and it was stated we would pay $156.38 a month if we turned over our solar tax credit to them within the first year. If not it would increase to around $250.00 a month. She said that in the summer months when there was high energy use that we may have to pay a little to Evergy but it would even out in the colder months as we would be paid for energy we put back into the grid. We were paying $233 a month on the Evergy level payment plan so this was a good deal to us and it would be locked in for the next 20 years. They started installing that week but final preparations were not completed for months. During this time, my son passed away so I was not on them as I would typically be to make sure things were done. November (cooler month) we get a bill from Evergy for $150 plus we have the bill for the solar at $156 so we are paying more now that we were. We emailed again for help and no response. We call and email and finally a response. Then one of the original installers came out, said there was no issue, rebooted the system and left. We are still only getting a max of 8kwh a day with 21 solar panels. We contacted them time and time again and we have been told this person will call or this person will call or a tree trimmer, etc. We just wanted them to remove their equipment. We eventually heard from Savannah who initially told us to just not pay the Evergy bill. It doesn't work like that. Someone was finally sent out to trim the trees but the lead told us he was not allowed to cut the main tree blocking the solar panels as he was instructed to only trim the ones directly hanging over the solar panels. Even when we had full sun and warm weather we never even got close to what was promised for kwh. We have filed complaints with the AG and the BBB. Their response on the BBB was that they have no sales people, etc. That we dealt with a company called MEB or Make Everything Better which we have NEVER heard of. We are out $42,000.00 and are seeking help elsewhere. Seriously do not consider this company for solar power or anything for that matter.
Recommendation: Run away as fast as you can
If you have been defrauded or if there has been a breach of contract, you should hire an attorney right away. Keep all records concerning communication between parties, payments made and the performance of the system. You can lodge your complaint with the relevant consumer protection agency in your state and escalate it to solar installation regulators. Reach out to your power company to confirm and strengthen their complicity in this.
