My name is Channing Collins, and I have been a tenant at Huntington Cove since May 2019. I am writing regarding a serious issue I am currently facing with my lease and recent eviction filing.
As of November 22, 2023, an eviction notice was filed against me due to my inability to pay November rent, which has been compounded by late fees and attorney fees. I want to emphasize that I have consistently paid my rent throughout my time here, even if it was sometimes late. I value my home and the community at Huntington Cove, and I would like to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
Since my lease ended in January 2024, I have been paying month-to-month, which has resulted in additional financial strain. Unfortunately, my attempts to renew my lease without a co-signer were unsuccessful, despite my credit score being in the fair range and my long-standing history as a reliable tenant.
I have paid as of this date $5200 additional in rent that is four and half months worth of rent if my lease had been renewed. The lack of compassion and unwillingness to come to an agreement regarding renewing my lease is devastating.
Claimed loss: $5200
Desired outcome: I want to renew my lease and have one month free.

Considering your dire financial situation, in addition to the filing of an eviction, I would suggest that you contact the property management company in order to determine whether there are any prospects of coming to an arrangement to clear or even reduce the debt, given your long term tenancy. Furthermore, should you be in a difficult situation, you can seek help from groups supporting tenants or lawyers that can protect your rights during an eviction process.
