EHarmony
I disputed a charge after being billed for more than i was originally told. This amount was for $44.85. My CC did investigate and reversed the disputed amount in favor of eHarmony. They are now harassing me for thus payment already made. There is no phone number to call so repeated emails saying I owe with no remedy offered than “pay” again. I’ve provided them with proof of payment and the letter from my CC but to no avail. I’m totally locked out of my account also.
Desired outcome: Have eHarmony quit emailing me for money I’ve already paid and give me access for what I’ve paid.
Being conned into a 2-year subscription for an online dating service
If, as you say, I selected the amount to pay based on the following: “your subscription price charged as a single, monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payment. The amount calculated, including any payment fees or sales tax, are displayed directly below the respective selection field.”
WHY ON EARTH are eHarmony charging me for a 24-month long subscription? Why was I not therefore only charged at the maximum of semi-annual payment”?
On 27 June 2022 I feel I was fraudently charged for a 2-year subscription after being high-jacked from an initial dating site (Silver Singles) that offered a "free one-month trial" to the eHarmony site where after clicking on a "sign up" button I was completely shocked to realise that I had been conned into signing up for a 2-year contract at the incredible price of AUS$702.65.
Between July 4 and July 26, I wrote 3 emails to eHarmony to contest what I was charged and even offered that I'd be happy to pay for the “semi-annual payment” for 6 months, therefore for a QUARTER of the cost but each time eHarmony replied that their policy was "no refunds", and each time they never addressed the issue of eHarmony being a front for Silver Singles.
Their system prompts anybody signing up to inadvertently be jumped to the longest most expensive option when subscribing, all the while having lulled the prospective user into only taking a one month free "offer".
Desired outcome: I refund of AUD$527.00 being 3/4s of the 2-year subscription price, as I am willing to pay AUD$175.65 for one quarter of this amount being the standard amount for the “semi-annual payment” for 6 months.
I would like you to "match" me with men who have faces, photos, some credibility, some integrity and some substances in their profile.
I am at a loss to understand how your online dating site keeps "matching" me with faceless identities.
I would like you to "match" me with men who have faces, photos, some credibility, some integrity and some substances in their profile.
I would like you to "match" me with men who have faces, photos, some credibility, some integrity and some substances in their profile.
Below are 3 screen shots of the first 9 "matches" that you have kindly matched me with. So far, all I can say is that there is NO WAY I will recommend your online dating webisite. Here is your chance to redeem yourselves and do the right thing. After all you keep promising me "every 14 minutes" What a load of crap!
Desired outcome: I would like you to "match" me with men who have faces, photos, some credibility, some integrity and some substances in their profile.Below are 3 screen shots of the first 9 "matches" that you have kindly matched me with.
holding my account hostage and collections
I would like to file a complaint with your organization about the dating site Eharmony. They are thieves, scammers, and hostage takers! Once you sign up for their supposed profiles, their supposedly current members no longer are active, seeking relationships, international scammers, truck drivers, disabled, unemployed, and live over 100 miles or more. None of these profiles I am interested in.
I have reached out to the company numerous times directly they send me the standard emails stating I am locked into their services for a year, and if I do not turn off automatic renewal I could be stuck in for another year. I tried to turn off my profile however they locked me out from turning off my profile and scammed me for $422.80!
I have called my credit card company blocking them from charging my account, they are now sending me to collections.
Please I do not want to be charged for their thievery services, have my perfect credit ruined by this scammer company nor will I give into their strongarm tactics.
If you read the reviews from other people, we all have the same issue with this company.
Please let me know how I can receive my refund and not be held hostage to a dishonest organization.
Thank you.
Bettina Stroll Pass
Desired outcome: A full refund of the funds and release of liability to them. They are threatened with collections for their fraudulent activity.
Cancellation policy
Florida Law states that you have a 3 day right of rescission on goods and services. It is a Florida Statute. Florida Administrative Code 501.205 is the right of rescission. It guarantees by law that residents of Florida may cancel any time within that 3 day period. I notified EHarmony within that period and they refused to cancel my account.

Desired outcome: Cancel my account
Charged £65 for a personality profile
I cancelled my membership within the 14 days cooling off period and they have charged me £65 for a computer generated personality profile. When you sign up they make you tick a box to access this profile, if you don't you have to wait 14 days .. so past the cooling off period.. until you get all the membership access (ie see pictures, write and read messages).
The personality profile is utter tosh, not worth £65. I have requested a full refund but to no avail.
Desired outcome: Full refund
Please refund both payments and stop the debt collection process.
In May, 2022, I got a membership online. Unfortunately, I managed to make two accounts and paid one payment on both. When I realized my mistake, I tried contacting eHarmony to get this sorted out but they are very difficult to contact. So I stopped using their service while I was stupidly awaiting a response from them. THEY NEVER RESPONDED OR ACKNOWLEDGED MY REQUEST.
I contacted eHarmony trying t get this cleared up since there appeared to be two accounts. I asked them to contact me directly but they never responded. Since they kept both payments, they need to refund one of them or, frankly, at this point, both since they are double charging. This is wrong!
Why they did not respond is beyond me. So at this pointe, I view the debt collection they started as harassment. They do not supply any meaningful or legitimate way to contact them. I value my credit reputation, and what they are doing is reprehensible. They blocked access to the account AND want to collect 3 payments for something they did not deliver. Nor did they ever contact me as I requested so that this mess could have been cleared up in the beginning.
No, I am not going to give them any additional funds. And, frankly, given what I have read about eHarmony, I find their response totally unacceptable and totally unethical.
Desired outcome: Totally delete ALL of my information from eHarmony.com.
eHarmony scamming people
I am starting a class action law suit against eHarmony for Australians please email me at eharmonyclassactionlawsuit at gmail.com
Too many Aussies have been stung by this scam site, it needs to stop! it won't cost you anything, but it will cost eHarmony a LOT! lets make this happen.
please email if you feel you have been wrongly done by eHarmony, together we are strong and can and will win this!
Desired outcome: Win the class action law suit and stop eHarmony from scamming Australians
You would have better luck on J4Charm.com
Eharmony is one of the lamest sites I have ever dealt with! You expose yourself to all sorts of scam when you join them, especially fake profiles, automatic renewals at an outrageously expensive rate or sudden ban for no reason. There are bunch of legit sites without all these tricks and hassles. EHarmony don't offer any real service and don't produce any results. By "results" I mean at least dates in real life. Most of the profiles have fake photos and lie about their location. On top of that, there are bots who "drop you a message" now and then just to keep you interested and hooked.
Not possible to "call" a match
If someone sends a message to you or vice versa it's simple to respond. But if you want to talk to the match this is no obvious way to do this, and if you send your cell# or email the match is deleted from being able to correspond w you in any way, forever.
Allegedly there is a "secure call" feature that allows users to contact each other securely. But this feature isn't discussed anywhere on the mobile site nor the full desktop site. I googled "eharmony secure call" and saw some 3rd party services that say they do this for a fee, but having paid around $400 for a 6 mo membership I assume somehow somewhere there's a way to do this. The problem is it isnt explained anywhere. So you're left to fend for yourself which in my case has now resulted in 2 deleted matches
eharmony seems to be a dating service that charges its users money to _prevent_ them from meeting people who are interested in them.
I am reporting this shady tactic to the BBB and w any luck maybe I'll get a refund
Desired outcome: A full refund. Also eharmony should do the due diligence of offering a better and more honest user experience to its customers.
Yearly subscription
I signed up for their yearly service at the end of May. I also signed up with several other dating sites. It is now August. I do not need these dating sites anymore. So I cancelled my subscriptions. No problem with any of them except eHarmony. They were billing my Paypal account every month, a little over a hundred dollars a month! Since I had other sites, I was not as vigilant as I should have been, but caught them just before they were taking out another hundred dollars. I emailed them that I did not require their services anymore after two months. They emailed me saying, according to their agreement, I could not get a refund because I went beyond their cancellation date! This is totally unacceptable. They owe me around 300.00. What is my recourse, can I take them to small claims court? I appreciate your time and help. Thank you
Desired outcome: I want what they owe me, about 300.00

Desired outcome: Full refund $11.94 Cancel that account and refund fully.

eharmony dating services
I joined eharmony 3 months ago and despite changing my perimeters to include people who drink etc., and widening the age range and search area to include the whole world, I am still being offered the same two and a half pages of matches. In addition the matches mainly comprise of the same people suggested when I joined. This is also the same when I look to see who's viewed my profile... which has lots of photos and information, again bizarrely, it's the same people who viewed when I first joined.
Eharmony is not fit for purpose and is a rip off.
I don't wish to give fodder to a dating agency that promises so much and delivers so little, so I'm going to delete all my information and write off the remaining 3 months and the money I paid.
This company should be taken to court for fraud. BEWARE.
Desired outcome: Total reimbursement for money paid and an additional amount for wasting my time and effort and for lying in their advertisements.
Refund
I bought a 24 month eHarmony subscription but then changed my mind under the 14 day full refund policy. They decided to only refund part of the amount over a personality profile which I did not purchase and did not use. This profile was created when I originally bought my first subscription and they resent something I had already paid for 2 years ago. They then refuse to refund the full amount. I paid about £100 and they refund £40.
Dating service
Bizarre place. Very few of the matches were genuine. Seems to be loaded with scams. Complained online and they cut my matches to two, totally out of the context of my stated acceptable standards. Set all the requirements for the broadest match possible. Matches the travel limit. A waste of time and money. Solicitations. I am paid up and want to delete my account. No response from eHarmony. This site is sad and pathetic. Evidently, they are playing off of people's loneliness. One image recognition search showed a woman living in the south who stated she was contacting me from New York. her picture was about 30 years younger than her stated age. The messages appear to have been written by more than one person. What a joke.
Desired outcome: Get my account deleted and then I can take a shower and wash this scum off of me.
Cancellation of subscription
I bought a 24 month EHarmony subscription but then changed my mind under the 14 day full refund policy. They decided to only refund part of the amount over a personality profile which I did not purchase and did not use. Desired outcome: Full refund
Ignorance of a complaint re: unfair charge
I have subscribed to the site on the 19th June at the total cost for 6 months (so called Premium membership) of £140.55. Read terms and conditions which stated that if cancelled within 14 days from the date of the sign up no charges will be incurred. On the 23rd June I decided that I don’t like the site snd no longer want to be subscribed to it and so I’ve contacted eharmony’s customer service requesting the cancellation of my subscription and profile. Received the response that they have processed it but as they have provided a so called Personality Profile which I didn’t request or was made aware of (the site doesn’t offer an option to opt out of this) they will be charging me £65 for this as they have now reverted my subscription to so called Basic one. I responded saying that I’ve never requested this Personality Profile and so I’m not happy to be charged for it. In response I got an email stating that the fee cannot be waived. I have then requested this to be logged as a complaint and to be passed on to their complaint team which was completely ignored and I got the similar as previous response, stating that the fee cannot be waived and referring me to their very confusing terms and conditions. This is literally taking advantage of people and charging them for nothing really as I’ve only been using the site for literally a few days?! Plus, my complaint has never been addressed and so I’m disputing this charge and want a full refund.
Awaiting your response.
Regards
Agnieszka Pekala
Desired outcome: Full refund of £65
False advertising
eharmony put an ad out on Spotify. It claimed if you were a Bristol resident you could access 5 days free membership. Offer open until today.
I have sent 6 emails asking how to subscribe to do this.
There is no consistency in the response, my emails are clearly not being read properly. There is no 5 day free membership.
This is a clear case of breeching legal rules on advertising.
How do you intend to address this or I will seek legal action. It's a cut and dried case of false, misleading advertising and discredits your website.
Customer care asks for evidence. Surely you know what your marketing team are doing? A broken system. All about love? No, all about profit.
I wait for a response.
Desired outcome: Fulfilling 5 day free membership as advertised on Spotfiy for all Bristol residents
Online dating service
Just when I thought this had been resolved, just today, I got a notice that eharmony has turned my account over to RFGI, a collection agency. I kept the documents for your office for two months, and an issue with my phone deleted them from my archives. I believe your office told me that the debt was forgiven, for want of a better word. I had been informing eharmony of my intent to no longer use their services since about last December. They ignored me and did not provide a proper place on their website for me to unsubscribe. I did everything I was told but the button was not there. I believe this was done deliberately in order to defraud me of the cost to subscribe. The amount is 215.40. Please help me! The account manager for RFGI is Samantha Anderson and can be reached at [protected] or rfgionline.com. Thank you for your help
Desired outcome: Forgive the amount turned over for collection agenty
eHarmony
I signed up for a 6 month deal and found that after a about 3 weeks I didn't like the site. I cancelled my subscription and then cancelled my account and profile and asked for a refund which I was refused. They allow you three days after you pay this fee up front to cancel to get a refund. How can you possibly know after three days? This site is nothing but a huge scam and I will never fall for that again. It is terrible how they take money in advance and then when someone isn't happy with the service, they won't refund any back! What a racket!
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of my money or at least 5 months worth!

About eHarmony
One of the things that sets eHarmony apart from other dating sites is its unique matching system. Instead of simply allowing users to browse through profiles and message each other, eHarmony uses a proprietary algorithm to match users based on a variety of factors, including personality traits, values, and interests. This means that users are more likely to find someone who is truly compatible with them, rather than just someone who looks good on paper.
Another key feature of eHarmony is its focus on long-term relationships. While other dating sites may be geared more towards casual hookups or short-term flings, eHarmony is designed to help users find lasting love. This is reflected in the site's comprehensive personality questionnaire, which takes around 30 minutes to complete and is designed to help users understand themselves better and find partners who share their values and goals.
In addition to its matching system and focus on long-term relationships, eHarmony also offers a range of other features to help users connect and communicate. These include a messaging system, a "What If?" feature that suggests potential matches based on users' preferences, and a mobile app that allows users to access the site on the go.
Overall, eHarmony is a well-established and highly respected dating site that is ideal for singles who are serious about finding a long-term partner. With its unique matching system, focus on compatibility, and range of features, eHarmony is a great choice for anyone who is looking for love online.
