Eligo Energy I can tell you my experience

I can tell you my experience. Eligo Energy called me and was giving me their rates of *** cents per KWH. My first bill came for July and used 600 KW bill was for $79.38. They charged me *** cents as they promised. My 2nd month (Aug) my bill just arrived and I used 429 KW and the Bill was $144.79. I looked a little further and they changed their rate from *** cents to *** cents/KWH.This in my opinion is complete fraud and *** "go with us our rate is *** cents." then change it to what ever they want after the first month because they got you now. I'm sorry but *** cents per KWH is highway robbery If I could rate negative I would. Buyers beware is all I can say

Your company will not leave me alone! Getting smart mouth and then left then he went up and down my mobile home beating on it! I called the police. I have high anxiety and ptsd. Now I'm scared he will come back. They have been to my house 8 times! I have no trespassing signs up. He said that wasn't good enough I need to put up a no solicit sign. When entering my mobile home it has two signs no trespassing no solicitation private property. I only rated this place one star if I could give it a nothing I would. I would not have your services for all the money in the world now. HARRASMENT. I will *** this company

Eligo Energy Called first thing Saturday morning while we were still sleeping

Called first thing Saturday morning while we were still sleeping. Identified himself as from PECO and wanted to switch us to a fixed rate electric contract. We just signed up with another electric supplier for 12 months fixed rate. I check the PA website and Eligo's 12 month fixed rate is .02/kw higher than our new contract. We have had no business dealings with Eligo and we are on the national do not call list. There is no legal connection between PECO and Eligo. This call violates the national do not call list. When my wife informed the caller that we had just switched our supplier and that she did not agree to Eligo switching our service, the caller kept on talking until she hung up on him.

My electric bill has increased consistently since January. In May and June, it rose by $100.00 in each of those two months. The bill went from $94.00 in January to $268.00 in May. I was not informed about the end of my contract with the city's aggregate service, and I observed that my kWh rate escalated from 4 kWh to 17 kWh. It's not a good business practice to have such changes without proper communication, as it risks losing customers.

Someone called from Eligo making it sound like they were from Consumer's Energy and I agreed to a contract due to the misrepresentation. I realized the mistake and called Eligo right away to cancel the contract. I was told it was cancelled but I received a copy of the contract and my supplier was switched. After the contract ended, I called Eligo to switch back to Consumer's and I was told it would show up on the next billing cycle. My next bill showed Eligo and a much higher rate. I called Consumer's and was told they had nothing on their records showing the switch back and need notification from Eligo. I feel totally scammed and Eligo repeatedly lies to me.

Eligo Energy It is February 15

It is February 15. I live in the State of Texas where a state of emergency is declared and approved by the Federal Government. I just received a "courtesy call" that I have 48 hours to vacate their grid. During an ongoing life and death situation, where a historic storm is underway that has temperatures at 13 degrees and with the wind chill -4. This is an emergency and I need to vacate because I am in Texas, not because of payment issues! So, I hope whoever reviews their company and is considering using them, my advice is I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AND SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDED! Can't stress this enough, because in the middle of a life and death situation, they will drop you!

A representative from Eligo Energy called my business. After I clearly told them I was not interested in doing business with them, and hung up, they called me back and insisted this had to do with an "existing account." I have never done business with this company, and contacting me multiple times, using deceptive language is harassment.

Eligo Energy I live in an undisclosed location and have DTE as our gas service provider

I reside in a certain area and have DTE as our gas service provider. In 2018, a deceitful company impersonated DTE, enrolling us in a monthly budget plan without proper authorization, using my wife's information. Post-contract in January 2022, our rates tripled compared to DTE's direct charges. It's bewildering how such a company, with a history of lawsuits and financial deceptions across various states, continues to operate. As a recent retiree, these costs are unmanageable, and the company shows no concern for our situation. I advise avoiding third-party energy schemes; they offer no real benefits, just initial teaser rates to lure customers.

We signed a 5 year contract for fixed pricing in 2017. The pricing was competitive - not the lowest but not the highest. However when the contract expired the rate jumped by 68% without a notice or option to renew. Found a new supplier!

Everything I have read is quite true. I am going through the same problem. I was on a three-month contract and called to cancel, but no one contacted me back. The price doubled to $595 the next month and then escalated even higher to $918. Never in 27 years at the same house have I had a bill that large.

Absolute scam! Similarly to everyone below, I was told I was getting a better rate and within months, my *** was over double what it used to be. Not only this, when I got the call, the spokesperson completely lied and told me that she was with PSE&G so I trusted her as my gas provider. Absolutely disgusting!

I just received a phone call from a representative with Eligo Energy. (He claimed that he's a well-known figure in the Energy World...). The representative offered me a rate that is significantly lower than my current contracted rates, but he failed to put this in writing without first reviewing my account details. Not only that, Eligo seemed unaware of the green-power initiative requirement. A quick search while on the phone provided me with the information I needed. This company is not legitimate. Don't be deceived. They are not looking out for your best interests, or doing you any favors. Their primary interest is in obtaining your signature.

Eligo Energy I was on 3 month contract with Eligo at a rate of .0453 kwh

I was on 3 month contract with Eligo at a rate of .0453 kwh. My contract expired and rates stayed consistently low. However, I did receive a bill charging roughly .07 kwh. I called on February 9 to cancel the service but decided to sign another 3 month contract at a rate of .0414 kwh after speaking to a customer service agent. I have now received a bill for .155 kwh that is simply outrageous. I called on February 24 and spoke to a customer service agent who advised that the change had not occurred because I called in the middle of the billing cycle. I was not informed of this on my previous call and certainly didn't expect that the rate would increase so drastically between months. Very disappointed with the dramatic rate increase.

Eligo Energy I feel targeted by Eligo, a third-party firm without a disclosed location, with high charges.

I feel targeted by a third-party firm named Eligo, which operates from an undisclosed location. Their per kWh rates dwarf those of my state's electric supply, and the same goes for their additional charges. Eligo's fees significantly exceed my local electric provider's rates, despite not being the actual supplier. When I contacted Eligo to terminate services, I was informed that cancellation couldn't occur until the contract ended, and they don't issue cancellation confirmations. I requested documentation of my consent to their plan, but was told Eligo doesn't provide contracts or proof of customer agreements. Eligo's practices suggest it's a scam.

Eligo Energy Signed on for a 3 month contract, but was under the impression this contract rate was locked in for a year

Signed on for a 3 month contract, but was under the impression this contract rate was locked in for a year. After i got my last *** in January, my rate went up 5x. Just to be clear, my rate was 0.039/kw and i was charged 0.134/kw. That means my *** went from $199 to $749. My usage went up ONLY ***kw. I called to renew my contract and they said it took A MONTH for that to happen so i would be charged the variable rate for ANOTHER month. My electric *** will be $1400 for 2 months. That is typically what i spend in 7 months. This company is a scam and i have called numerous times and NO ONE will help. They don't have access to send you to their billing department and a supervisor is never available. This company knows what it is doing and how to get residential customers STUCK with LARGE bills. What a garbage company.

Eligo Energy Do not fall for their "scam" rates

Do not fall for their "scam" rates. They will sucker you in, then fail to let you know when your rate is set to expire. That is not entirely on them...it is surely a common business practice. Your energy ***, (gas or electric) will always state when your rate will expire. So, in that sense it is my fault I let it it happen and didn't do anything about it for a few months...but don't expect a big notice about "Your Rate is Expiring!"Which brings me to the 1 star... 5x-6x the rate! I went from .03/kwh to .16/kwh. That's insane! My gas went from .20/ccf to $1.14/ccf ! What the ?!?!?! Are you kidding me? I've "lost" over $500 that past few months because I was lackadasical about signing up for a new plan... I didn't think there was anyway it would be that drastic. My own fault for not paying attention to what I was paying...but holy cow, this company is slimeball city for jacking rates that extreme. They know what they are doing. I'm sure a good percentage of users don't even realize the rate they pay for much longer! AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!

Eligo Energy My electric bills have been quite high for a while now, I know prices have gone up, and assumed everyone was paying such high prices

My electric bills have been quite high for a while now, I know prices have gone up, and assumed everyone was paying such high prices. Come to find out, Eligo is my primary source, not Peco. I called to inquire and was told Peco must of contracted them August , which I do remember getting a letter at which time I promptly called and told them I did not switch and was told I would bd diverted back to Peco. Time went on, life got busy and admittingly I forgot to look again, just assuming it was switched. Eligo records show that I cancelled September , but was never switched back to Peco. The past 6 mths or so I have noticed a substantial increase, $875 a month the most recent when my highest in years past was $400. Someone posted a PSA for everyone to check who was providing their energy bc they were scammed snd lo and behold I have been paying 3x the amount of Peco prices bc I was out of contract. Mind you, I never signed up for anything and was fraudulently switched. I am easily out thousand of dollars and no one will assist me in correcting this.

Eligo Energy Switched to Elligo in 7 with the understanding that they would provide me Net Metering for my existing Solar Panels

Switched to Elligo in 7 with the understanding that they would provide me Net Metering for my existing Solar Panels. I just noticed on my bill in march that I wasn't getting my credit for my solar panels. I contacted their customer service and they said they do net metering and would have someone check it and call me back within 24 to 48 hours. needless to say they never called back so I called them back and got same response again with same result no call back.great customer service. so I called a third time and finally got a call back from a mark in customer service out of Chicago. he told me that they weren't getting the readings from penelec and that I need to contact them to get the readings send so Eligo could credit my account. so I called penelec and they said that they send my solar readings in every month to Eligo and Eligo isn't giving credit and I need to dispute it with Eligo so I Called mark back at Eligo customer service a few times and no call back if this is how they handle customer issues I can't see them being in business much longer. Eligo Energy Price-gouging shysters with horrendous customer service is the best way I can describe this "business", hooking you in with a 6-month fixed rate

Price-gouging shysters with horrendous customer service is the best way I can describe this "business", hooking you in with a 6-month fixed rate only to QUADRUPLE the price per kWh as soon as the rate period ends, with NO NOTICE or warning. Then when you try to call to ask WTF is up with charging 13 cents per kWh when National Grid is charging 3 cents per kWh, you hear "I don't set the rate, I'll try to get a supervisor, please hold." Then, "She's helping another customer and will call you back today." Then, 10 business days go by and you start the calling process all over again. Then, when you finally get a "specialist" on the phone you hear, "Your fixed rate ended after 6 months and then you were charged a variable rate. It was written on your bill that your fixed rate was ending." I looked back at the past several months of bills and there was no such notation. I have racked up a total of 230 minutes of calls with 9 different customer service people at Eligo between 6/29 through 7/24 (I have kept track of every single call) and got absolutely NOWHERE with the price gouging issue. STAY AWAY from this "deal" because it will cost you DEARLY.

Eligo Energy I was informed by Aurora city that my electricity provider would be changed without consent

I received a notice from the city of Aurora informing me that my electricity provider would be changed without my consent unless I opted out. Preferring to maintain control over my utilities, I chose to opt out. Aware of potential fraud, I sent my opt-out notice via certified mail, which was signed for well before the deadline, despite a holiday weekend. Today, I received a notice indicating that my provider had been switched regardless. I expressed my frustration to a customer service representative at the company and plan to follow up with management tomorrow. I'm uncertain about the private agreements this company makes to penetrate the electrical market, as they seem to be involved in various suburban areas, but I am determined to keep my current provider. It's crucial to document your actions, as it can be beneficial if you need to file a complaint with the state Attorney General. I am uninterested in their services, regardless of their energy quality or incentives. I advise others to be wary of their tactics and stay clear of their offers.

Eligo Energy A company is trained to silence complaints by creating deceptive tickets and false promises.

A company is trained to silence complaints by creating deceptive tickets and false promises of corrective action. These tickets are not intended to help the customer but to track conversations with the company. They function like sales pipeline software. The company will deceive and do anything to make you pay increased energy rates. After a contract ends, billing can skyrocket. When trying to cancel, they delay processing and promise a refund that may never arrive. It's a scam with no intention of resolving issues, only to take money, leaving customers helpless. This practice is akin to the extreme interest rates of payday loans in the 1990s. 'Variable' rates are code for 'predatory.' To avoid this scam, urge state representatives to enact laws preventing such business operations.

Eligo Energy We received an enormous electric bill

We received an enormous electric bill...more than triple our normal one. I called our electric company. They explained that we had someone else servicing our account. I stated that we never gave anyone else permission to service our account. They helped me figure out who the company was and how it could have happened. IT WAS A COMPLETE SCAM! Our electric company told us of this scam. The only way they can get your information is 2 ways...1) They can steal the information of off your meter, or 2) they call saying you are paying too much for your electric and if you want to save money, press a number to talk to a representative. Well, once you press a number, and you're not even told or aware this is happening without speaking to someone, you have agreed to sign up for their service. I found the number to Eligo Energy NY LLC, 201 W Lake St, Suite 151, Chicago, IL 60608 888*744*8125. I called them, told them my issue, and stated I wanted a refund for the time they (so called) serviced my account. They said they would have to look into it and get back to me. They called back 3 days laters. Said they were sorry, but someone signed up for the services. I was NOT nice. I told them how I found out what really probly happened. They did not want to give me any money back. I told them I was going to report them to the Complaintsboard.com. They asked if I could give them another day to (dig deeper}. I said ok. They called back 2 days later. They offered to pay me back only 2 of the 8 months worth of charges ONLY if I did not contact the Complaintsboard.com. I said no, I wanted all the money back because what they did was illegal. They said no. Doesn't surprise me that I get on here to make the complaint and they are rated a 1.27 out of 5. I would definitely NOT be a proud owner of this business or it's practices. With all the bad reviews and apparent scams, when is enough enough? This place ought to be ashamed of themselves. After my electric company switched us back as it should have been, our bills have been normal. Before submitting, I had to leave a star rating. They don't even deserve the one, but you can't leave your review without a star. UNHAPPY

Eligo Energy Eligo is a huge scam and this is how it works

Eligo is a huge scam and this is how it works. They will offer you some rates based on 3 month / 6 month and 12 month terms. You will be tempted to go for the shorter terms because they are less but here is why. Every time your term renews Eligo has the chance to make a HUGE profit and this is how they got me. When my first 3 month term was almost up the sent an email letting me know I should renew which I promptly did. Everything was great and I waited a few more months for the next notification. This time nothing came. When the term expired and I got a bill at 4x the normal rate I called them. They claimed they "sent out" two notifications in the postal mail. I got neither of these notices. They won't adjust my term or do anything for me unless I would sign up for a 12 month contract therefore locking me in while they have all the leverage. I declined and signed up for another 3 month term just to see. When I signed that contract I also received a copy but behind the scene the PECO (my energy company) account number was entered wrong and the term was never activated. The thing is they will never notify you about this, instead they will let the meter run for another month until you get a bill and see that it's wrong. Only then when you call them will they say that because of a "glitch" in the system no one is notified when there is a problem. So they hide behind this deniability and pass you around between multiple agents. They will tell you that they have to escalate it to billing. When they return your call over a week later (with the meter running the whole time at the 4x rate) they will will tell you the same thing, that you have to sign up for a 12 month term to be able to get anything corrected even though you have a signed contract. At this point I just canceled and walked away and this little experiment cost me more than I saved. I'm upside down over $800 on this. Never ever ever again will I fall for "Energy Choice". It's a total scam and the companies like Eligo that operate in this space offer nothing to the industry except a way for them to use tricky and unethical business practices to scam people out of millions of dollars a year. This should be illegal and I will be taking this up with the chamber of commerce, my legislators and my lawyer as I'm sure this is class action just waiting to happen. Thanks for nothing Eligo and I will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know so they don't fall for this. The only possible safe way for the consumer to come out on top is to understand that they are in it to trick you and unless you are 100% diligent in your renewals and data entry they will eventually get you. When they do because of the way the metering works they will get you for two to three cycles not just one so beware, you're better off sticking with your energy company and going solar if you want to save money.

After canceling my Eligo Account I heard nothing from them until was contacted by associated Credit Services claiming I had not paid my final payment to them in the sum of $711.47. When I signed up for their service I was informed that iI was not to pay Eligo directly but to continue to pay AEP. I have paid AEP which includes charges for Eligo. Is this demand from Eligo Appropriate and if so why has it not been paid by AEP

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response.[protected]@yahoo.com

Eligo Energy Eligo called and promised me 10c/kwh in Mar '20 for 3months

Eligo called and promised me 10c/kwh in Mar '20 for 3months. After that the rate was floated but they said it could go up or go down. In the more than 1 year since the rate has only gone up and it is now at 18c/kwh which is crazy given that my default supplier Eversource who were 11c at the time came down to 9c. Eligo is a classic scam - running a bait and switch operation with a teaser rate and relying on people to forget and then gouging them. I want a refund for all the months that I have paid such an excess over the market rate.

We were under contract with Eligo Energy and as soon as our contract expired and we hadn't had a chance to check the competitive prices of local energy companies, they changed their rate from .06 kwh to .2 kwh resulting in a charge of $408 instead of $122...so a difference of $286. They completely took advantage of the fact that we were out of contract. I called to speak with a representative and they said they could not help us.

Eligo Energy Eligo Energy PA LLC Spoke to my unauthorised husband about changing our electric service

Eligo Energy PA LLC spoke to my husband, who is not authorized to change our electric service. The account is solely in my name. The service was altered on 05/28 through 12/04 for an introductory period at a reduced rate. Subsequently, my bills increased by 30%. I called on 08/11, canceled the service, and requested the introductory rate to be applied through the current period. I did not authorize any changes. They claimed they verified with my husband whether he had the authority to modify the account, and he affirmed on a recording, which was untrue.

Raised my price dramatically without any notification. Now I'm stuck paying a high price for months till it gets switched over to a different supplier. When I called to question them and stop service, I was just told that a post card had been sent last Nov. saying just that my contract had expired. I never received anything. My price per CCF went from0.249000 to *** in 30 days time and for some reason it going to take 2 or 3 billing cycles to change it. ( or more)

Eligo Energy On 1/31 I made a call to Eligo Energy at [protected] and entered in to a contract for the time period off 1/31-4/30

On 1/31 I made a call to Eligo Energy at [protected] and entered in to a contract for the time period off 1/31-4/30. Confirmation number P0R1255857. I was advised that my rate for 1/31-4/30 would be 0.0299. My rate for 1/30-2/27 ended up being billed at 0.085 (nearly three times the contracted rate). When I made a call to Eligo Energy customer service and spoke to employee #427061 I was advised that they were unable to start the contract until 3/27 because of NYSEG's billing cycles, and that they have now changed to contract date to 3/27-6/27 instead. I have asked for them to honor the original contract rate and was told they could not.

This company has been continually calling me for the past 3 weeks. I have never contacted them nor do I have any interest in their services. They have obviously gotten my phone number from a purhcased list. They are simply spam phone calls.

Every day since last week I get a call from this place demanding to speak to my boss, or anyone who handles our electric ***. I tell them every day we are not interested, then I get a condescending comment asking " If I know what it is they do". Every day I ask to be taken off the call list and every day they assure me they will, then they call the next day I would like to REALLY be taken off the call list. We are not interested in you wasting my time each day with your demands of what I need to do.

I have tried to contact this company to change/update my natural gas supplier but the phone number listed is not valid and keeps disconnecting. I have also tried emailing the company and have received no response. This is the only way to adjust my contract which is currently overpriced based on the comparisons.

Eligo Energy On October 21st I agreed to be supplied natural gas from Eligo Energy

On October 21st I agreed to be supplied natural gas from Eligo Energy. They had contacted me, promising lower rates than my *** DTE. They never explained, that once out of contract, the rates would skyrocket. At this time I did not know, the state of *** had fined them over $3,000,000 for the same deception to electric customers. On 11/1, I was contacted by DTE, with a letter stating I was paying $0.599 per 100 cu. ft. for gas from Elgio, vs. their rate of $0.028 per 100 cu.ft. Over 100% more. I contacted Elgio, and cancelled them, but was told it would take two billing cycles. My *** on 12/29,2021 was $271.28, and on 1/28/2022 was $352.14. These are the only months I have the data for. Each *** was 100% more than DTE would have charged!

Signed up with eligo energy in november, *** did't seem to change that much in the first month, after that I called them to complain and they said that their rate is still lower then consumers. the month after that they're rate shot through the roof. when i called to ask why they said it expires after 4 months. It was only month 2...I asked to cancel and they said ok. Today I get my *** and it shows they are still on it with consumes. I called them and they said I never asked to cancel and they will process it now. they said it can take up to 2 billing cycles to take effect! they said only consumers energy can take care of it. and when i called consumers they said eligo energy can take care of it. meanwhile i'll be charged extra money for at least another 2 months... no way to stop this. pretty unbelieveable.

Eligo Energy We have been a customer of Eligo Energy since 3/1

We have been a customer of Eligo Energy since 3/1. Our contract ran out, and we paid a higher rate for that. On 12/1, we signed a contract for a 3-month term at a rate of 4.86 cents/kwh. When we were charged over 14 cents/kwh for the month of December, we called to clear this up. (This early January call to them was the first of 4 calls through today, January 25.) Customer service stated that we "missed the billing cycle", which cost us about $200 more than normal. We then noticed in mid-January that our local electric company (PP&L) statement indicated that Eligo was STILL charging us over 14 cents/kwh. Calls were made to customer service at both electric companies. So, nearly 2 months later, the rate still has not been changed with PP&L. How long does it really take to make this change? We will not be paying this higher price.

Eligo Energy Energy **** - 6/19 thru 7/22 Had already signed up for auto-pay and they failed to draft from my account

Energy *** - 6/19 thru 7/22 Had already signed up for auto-pay and they failed to draft from my account. After they had an audit of their accounts they claim that they notified Ogre Energy (third party provider) that they found their mistake and that it needed paid.I was not notified about this, since I was no longer with Ogre Energy. I discovered a $90 payment deducted from my bank account during the summer (can't get on my bank right now) and had no idea why someone would take $s out of my account when I hadn't used them for over a year. I had my bank decline payment and I tried to get information from Energy Ogre on how to reach them, account number etc...but they couldn't *** wants payment - which I will try to get - but I really don't feel that their mistake should be my problem. I also don't feel that it's right for a company you no longer do business with can just decide to take funds out of your bank account at will.

Eligo Energy I called to renew my contract in December, spoke to Jordon and was told this would show on my Feb.2021 bill

I called to renew my contract in December, spoke to Jordon and was told this would show on my Feb.2021 bill. When I got my electric bill it was 433.73. I was suppose to have a rate of 0.0549 / kwh. I called and spoke to Joshua and he said my contract wasn't in effect yet. I told him Jordon said my savings would start on Feb's bill, he said there was nothing he could do, this isn't the first time I have had this problem with the company. But last time they gave me a credit, this time I got everything but them fixing my bill. I live in a rancher that's doesn't have a basement and isn't very big. I called Potomac Edison and spoke to Sabrina and she said they where only charging me 55 dollars for January. I canceled my services with them and told them I was filing a complaint with the complaintsboard.com. I would like to receive some of my money for the over charge on my electric. They wouldn't give me anything back. I believe this is poor customer service.

Eligo Energy On January 12 we signed up for a 3 month fixed rate electricity plan at 4.60cents per kwh

On January 12 we signed up for a 3 month fixed rate electricity plan at 4.60cents per kwh. In March we received a postcard from Eligo energy reminding us that our 3 month fixed rate plan was expiring in April and that we would go to a variable rate plan that will change monthly, and that our rate for the next 30 day cycle after our contract ends will be 4.60cents per kwh. It also stated that we could call and sign up for a new fixed contract or stay on a variable rate plan. When I decided to switch suppliers they billed me at 14.5110 cents per kwh for 4/23 through 5/11 when their notice clearly stated for next 30 day cycle after our contract expires on 4/12 would be 4.60 cents. The next 30 day cycle would be 4/12 through 5/12. They billed me 4.60 cents per kwh for 4/12 through 4/23 and then raised it to 14.5110 cents per kwh for 4/23 through 5/11. Our Acct # is [protected] and the account is under *** and Michelle Cannella.

Eligo Energy Energy was my supplier & AEP is my distributor

Energy was my supplier & AEP is my distributor. After realizing that my 3 month fixed rate ($.03/kwh) expired & I have been paying a variable rate of ~$.1/kwh I called to cancel. My billing cycle was from 05/21-06/21-22. I canceled my plan with Energy & demanded a removal of them as my supplier on 06/14. I paid my bill for that cycle & expected for them to drop me as their customer. However on my current billing cycle (06/22-07/21) Energy was still enlisted as my supplier & after calling and requesting billing to make an adjustment (as I cancelled a billing cycle ago) I was told that this is an AEP issue as they did not supply me for the next billing cycle. That is MY business, Energy should not have supplied my power for this billing cycle regardless of what AEP has to say as I ultimately would have been the one without power for that billing cycle. Instead however, agents from Energy denied my adjustment and are forcing me to pay for a service I cancelled.

Eligo Energy On or about 12/7 Eligo Energy contacted my place of business and spoke with a part-time secretary who answered the call

On or about 12/7 Eligo Energy contacted my place of business and spoke with a part-time secretary who answered the call. The salesperson apparently convinced her to change our electric service provider by offering some "low rate" and then proceeded to switch us from who we had been with for several years to Eleigo. As previously mentioned, the person who took the call is only a part-time employee who has no authority or position to make any changes to anything. She is not the account owner nor a part of the business ownership. As the sole owner of the business, I noticed that our February *** had almost tripled and started to investigate the problem which led me to discover this information. I contacted Eligo and they canceled our contract but refused to make any adjustment to the ***, instead, they sent me an audio recording of the conversation between their salesperson and my employee. The recording was helpful in that during the entire recorded call did Eligo ask if the person they were talking to had the authority to authorize any changes regarding our energy supplier. I can provide this .mpg recording if needed but cannot upload it with the complaint due to your upload restrictions.According to the ***, this is considered "slamming" and is illegal. I am not looking for anything other than for our *** to be adjusted down to the rate in effect currently by the provider that we use, which is AES Ohio and which is currently $0.045/kwh.

As others have stated in their complaints, this company Eligo offers a very low rate for 6 months, and then automatically puts you in a much higher rate. All correspondence with this company during signup is over web and e-mail, but JUST the notification that the rate is ending is sent via a postcard, really? So they are paying postage rather than a free e-mail? This is a deliberate fraud. I never received the post card, and there is no proof they sent one nor proof that I received one.In my case the electric rate was more than triple, and by the time you figure it out you are charged one month, and it will take at least another month to change to another supplier. This was almost $1,000 for me for two months of electricity. I would love to see these postcards, I will bet it is something innocuous looking that people will mistake for junk mail and throw away.Eversource can't/won't do anything about it, I called them and they have received many similar complaints about this company. I am contacting the Mass. Attorney General, hopefully their license to resell *** in Mass. can be revoked at the very least. There is no way for you to refuse to pay the ***.Yes, according to the contract they are not technically doing anything illegal, they have just found a very clever technique in the way billing is done to rip people off. I can't see any way that they could make a legitimate argument that what they are doing is above-board.I love how they reply to these complaints as if they are doing nothing wrong, and somehow maintain an A+ rating with Complaintsboard.com. I guess in this way, Complaintsboard.com is falling for the scam as well and enabling this behavior.Don't buy electricity from a sketchy guy in an alley, which is basically what this is.But, prove me wrong, if you guys claim to be legit, refund part of my money, and send people e-mails when their contract is up.

Eligo Energy In 2020, I was guided by Eligo Energy on my Consumers Energy plan details

In what I believe was the summer of 2020, I was contacted by Eligo Energy and the wonderful young lady walked me through my Consumers Energy plan details. She told me I could lock in at a rate of $2.29 mpf which sounded great. She did tell me that this was an introductory offer that lasted for three months and they would contact me at that time to discuss if I wanted to continue. Well, I just received the most expensive gas bill in my life that totaled $242.02. I then looked back through previous billing periods to see what was going on to make sure I wasn't using more gas than the previous year. As it turns out, I was using relatively the same amount, but Eligo Energy had increased my rate to $9.29 mpf. After further research, this was done in November. You think I would have caught it, but I have automatic payments so I didn't pay attention as gas usage at that time was low. In December it was raised to $11.49, but we have been so cold in Michigan I didn't think anything of it. Then I just got my January bill which I stated shocked me being $242.02. So, I called Eligo to let them know that I did some research on it and indeed they were price gouging. I told them the going rate for gas at this point was $3.69 - $4.59 depending on the provider. I would be more than happy to pay the $4.59 (Highest rate) and would look to continue with them in the future. I was told I agreed to the increase and they said they could show me. I said show me the proof because I never got it. Maybe they should have sent it via certified mail or called me. They said it is automated so they were sure it was sent. At this point I was told they could send me a $25 check, but nothing more. I told her to send me the check, cancel my account and I would be contacting the Complaintsboard.com. I find it hard to believe they have an A+ rating with you as they show on their website. Feel free to contact me on my cell if you need more info. I have a voicemail from them as well. End of story.

I have National Grid I live in NYS and I couldn't figure out why my bills were slowly getting higher each month, well they were charging me .209 cents when my neighbors were getting charged .08 thru National Grid.. shame on you charging me 2x the amount. You are supposed to be saving us money, not ripping us off.
