bought between 10, 000 13, 000 dollars of items thru ebay from abive company.drove from Illinois to buffalo to pickup over a semi load of various goods.I was receipted out and loaded one truck on a thurs. they receipted me out and staged the remaing pallets for me to load first thing fri.morning.I asked about some specifac items and was told they were in one of the many boxes of items i bought. When I got back to Il. and got unloaded on sun.it was obvious without even unloading any boxes I was missing numerous pallats.I called all my contact numbers sunday nite and left messages.customer service, and the counter girl called back monday.but not their boss they could not go find my missing pallets without leaving their regular jobs without the bosses approval. He would not call me back or return my emails until 10 days later then only to ### about me leaving negative feed back on ebay not to call about all my missing items.with the way they did it and waiting for so long to start hunting my items(@ a month) they can barely find anything and refuse to just refund all the money that I have paid for things and do not have.

I agree totally! This is the WORST company I have ever experienced on EBAY! Empire Liquidators sent me a wrong item, I contacted their customer service (which is no real customer service!), they were awful! They told me I could ship the item back and I would be reimbursed my shipping charges. They received the merchandise back, but I couldn't get any where with their company. I faxed them all of the necessary paperwork, and was told by Ami to, 'go ahead and leave them positive feedback and let her know when I had done that and she would take care of my refund'. Well, against my better judgment, I went along with it, but there was no refund or shipping reimbursement; just a lot of frustration on my side of it! I eventually won my dispute on paypal and was credited my initial charge, but never my shipping return charges, but this took two months from the original purchase date for all of this to happen accompanied by a whole bunch of rude customer service and the run around from Empire Liquidators.

I agree also, I bought an item on ebay and did not bother to read the item description (mainly because I should not have to) and as I live in California they took 5 days to get the item to me which in my mind is completely unacceptable time frame, I don't care where they are. After arriving it turns out that it is an opened box item that must have had a previous owner? What the &^$&^$ ?

Who sells this stuff? I called and demanded an immediate refund in full and the customer service person told me that I would have to ship it back and leave a positive feedback! Well, I had already left the negative the minute I opened the box so that was out, and I definitely was not going to pay for the shipping back to them simply because they say that it was exactly as advertised. I gave the girl a piece of my mind and simply went on Paypal and got my money back by filing a claim. Take that Empire Liquidators!

You are 100% correct. These people are as bad as it gets. Drove 1200 miles to pick up equipment. Only one item was available. Said they were sold by accident. Then the boss ran out of the office when I turned my back. These people should be in jail. Never returned my money. It has been over 3 years now. The fact that they still exist is a hard to understand. The city of Buffalo must be part of this scam or they would be gone a long time ago.

Let me give you people on the internet a quick summary of how Empire Liquidators is. I've worked there. I don't have a full scope of the entire warehouse, but I can give you some insight. The items that are listed come from a big box of stuff. All of this stuff is either broken, or has some defect with it. I'd say about 75% of the items are broke, or defected. 20% of the items, nothing really wrong with it, just maybe a scratch or something. 5% of the stuff looks like there isn't anything wrong with it at all.

I don't know how they receive or pay for their boxes of stuff. Some months the stuff will be complete junk. While other months, there are some actual worthwhile products in there. They all get "tested". Testers inspect the items to see if it works or not and they give a small description of their testing probe. The listers, I have to be honest, they don't care so much. At least when I worked there. They might of have changed their policies or whatever. But when I worked there, we didn't give a crap. We needed to list at least 25-30 items a day. Of course we did minor inspections to see if the products were obviously broken. Well, take for example a common product, a catchers net. This was a very common item. We have a template of it where the picture is already taken of it, and a description. I never even opened the box to see if everything was in there. I just listed it to get it over with and get a +1 listing.

Right now I see almost all of their listings are of tools. And there are hardly any sporting goods. That's how they work, they get different stuff all of the time. So, slapping a tool on e-bay wouldn't be as easy as listing a catcher's net. And it looks like now that the items they have on auction aren't hard at all to list. So the complaints of broken or missing pieces might have gone down.

Another thing. Some of the big boxes of stuff or gaylords, some would be filled with pure junk. Absolute broken junk. It was a real pain in the ### to list this stuff, but we had somehow make 'lots' of the items or groups of items. For example lot of 3 broken lacrosse sticks. From my speculation they sometimes would take these big boxes, filled with junk, and sell them. Kind of like a mystery grab bag. But in all fairness they do provide a picture of it.

Now let's get to the warehouse. From my understanding they employed ex-convicts. I remember working with an ex-child molester, but he didn't do anything. Just a sample of the people who are testing your goods. Listers are normal people. There was a slut there, probably still is working there, but that's a different story. I'd say 90% of the listers, and testers and other workers are losers. Not the computer nerd loser, but actual loser - not doing so good in the looks department, no real education, white trash folk. The warehouse is located in "south" buffalo. this is where most of the white trash of the city dwell. Not much else to say about this place. Would I work there again? Definitely not. When it's cold out, it's cold inside, hot outside, hot inside. It's dirty and dusty. Co-workers are crummy and not fun to be around. Right now it wouldn't seem too bad at all to list items. But when they start getting boxes full of pure junk. It's so annoying to list these items. I'm not being a whiner either. They get new people ALL the time. Maybe they should invest in buying a revolving door. Oh and stay away from the sporting goods. Broken nets, missing pieces, holes in stuff, etc. I wouldn't buy any of the sporting goods. Also any items that have pieces to it are more than likely going to be missing parts or pieces to it. Stay away. On the other hand you can get some pretty good deals in their electronics.

I worked there back in 2009 and was "laid off" come to find out that they were just trying to get rid of me because of the accident (cut my hand open on broken glass in one of our boxes). But as the above posted yes the people other than the Listers are convicts in the "work" program. The place is a [censor] hole and most of the items are [censor]. This place should have been shut down a long time ago.

Wow, I am so glad I found this blog. They have this DuPont laminate plank flooring that I really desperately need, but I need it NOT to be damaged, I mean what good is it if all the corners or planks have damage? Its a 7 hour drive for me to go up there and I called because I only need 3 boxes but they were rude and very unhelpful. The girl on the phone was an idiot. I don't want to waste 14 hours of drive time plus gas to get up there and find I just bought a whole pallet of crappy, damaged flooring, then have to file a Paypal dispute to get my money back. As for not taking the time to describe stuff accurately on eBay, I have been on eBay for 15 years and I currently work in a warehouse listing on eBay, too...I know it's hard but if you can't take the time to freakin' describe the item enough to say if it's broken or not, get the EFF off eBay. I can't believe eBay hasn't kicked them off by now but since I am a Top Rated Power Seller, I think I will contact customer service and have them take a closer look at Empire Liquidator's operations. We do not need skanks like them clogging up the eBay website. It's bad enough out there as it is.

I knew these crocks, I had a very bad experience with them, They lost a lot of business and moved to a very small warehouse at 1791 Fillmore Ave Buffalo NY 14214
The Woman in the office who is suppose to handle customer service has no clue what customer service is and I think she hates herself that's why she has a miserable demeanor, she sits on her fat ### doing nothing to earn her salary, playing with her ugly dry hair and cannot in any way resolve any customer dispute, The warehouse in big miss and the warehouse workers are lacking knowledge and experience, If you see any of there posting on ebay and look at the retail price they post in the Item description block and compare it to any price on the net or in your neighborhood hardware store you will know how crocks they are, most of the time it's doubled and more, they claim to return item within 14 days, yes they they will return it but you will never get your money back and the story goes on and on, I never buy anything from them even if it's the last Item on earth.

I read every listing word for word and look at all of the pictures before I bid and I really never have any problems. I spend about $6000-$10, 000 a month with them and I resell everything for a profit. The stuff they sell is all store return items that might be perfect or might be broken or damaged. That's why you have to read the listings...

This company is great. To the people complaining, its clear they don't know how to read a listing. They list the items as opened box and mark any damages. I've bought over $5, 000 in just the last 3 months and have been able to return anything without any questions asked. Gene at the front desk is amazing, and funny.

I worked at this place for 6 months because I was desperate, and I have no idea how I made it that long. They treat their employees like dirt, and pay them dirt. They can't manage to hold employees for more than 2-3 weeks, the good ones quit and the weak ones get fired with no real chance to improve. Consequently literally 80% of the employees are brand new at any given time and have no idea what they're doing. Everyone there is absolutely miserable all day, unsurprisingly.
The company effectively gets in all the stuff home depot or sears was going to throw in the garbage, but sells to them dirt cheap instead. Effectively the employees sort through bins of garbage to see what they can get away with selling. Most of the stuff is broken or recalled. Much of it is returned items that may be ok. Once in a while some stuff is just junk the store couldn't manage to sell even at clearance costs.
The employees test the garbage to see if it's still usable and then throw it up on the internet.. Employees do a quick glance over of the item and will describe if there's any noticable defects, and note whether it powers on. Usually the employees are not trained to test whether some of the items work effectively beyond that.
I will say this- if you need a heater those usually work and the get a ton of them and sell $300 for like $30, so for some things it may be a steal. But most of it is garbage, and I'd never support this company, they have terrible work ethic. This was without a doubt by FAR the worst job I've ever had.

After winning an Ebay bid for a stove top, they put an additional line on my charge card just to bring the amount up to list price. Overt Fraud and rather stupid actually. The non-working stove top was returned at my expense and both charges reversed, the fraud being reported, causing my CC to be cancelled and regenerated.

They stored the purchases till there was a semi load to be shipped to me. on the last load they ended up shorting me out of #3600 + in merchandise and I also had to pay for a full semi shipment that was only half there. was told there was nothing he could do. do not buy from or trust them. especially the guy who handles my account. his name is Pat. called the people I was told to call and never got anyone or a return on my message. revenge will be sweet.

Wow! I was thinking of purchasing something from them on e bay! I am so glad I did my homework now! I read these reviews and after what I have read I wouldn't take anything from them if they paid ME to get it out of their warehouse. Thank you everybody for letting me know before I purchased anything from these people. I have not had a bad experience from e bay yet and now I am going to research every one I buy anything from!

I buy from there all the time and love the stuff. If everything is so bad why is the feedback rating so high? It appears from my view that 10s of 1000s of people seem to love the place. Ex-employees should never be allowed to post complaint about a company that's why they are "ex employees" the one above actually uses misogynist tones about woman in his writing. I think Empire Liquidators is awesome and so do the vast majority of people that buy from them obviously.

Sorry but I was in the worst place in my life while I was working for this company. I was working 80 hours a week in a combination of jobs and this was the absolute WORST employer I have EVER had. In my entire life. I had worked for the same people for years previously and to this day. Never have I been treated as poorly as I was with this company. It is absolutely asinine the way they treat their employees. And the boss is completely racist and unprofessional.

I agree, ex employees should not be allowed to air grievances under the "I don't work there anymore" type of thing. Job separation exists on many levels and one-sided comments from released employees should be taken with the appropriate grain of salt. In any case, I buy from there all the time and as a reseller, I can assure you that all most all of the stuff is as advertised. This type of material offers the right buyers an endless well of savings and opportunities, the problem seems to be that it also attracts the type of buyers that should not be using this type of service as well and that's where the disconnect comes in. I live in Buffalo and they have been around in one form or another for 20 years. The numbers show that 10k+ people a year like them and 10-20 have an issue. That's the official eBay numbers anyway. So the 10-20 people in the last (top of page and down dates) 8-9 years is hardly a valuable list. I see the same thing in my business every day. People do not want to read and adhere to policies that are stated clearly and they want to blame everyone and everything for issues at the backend. As for ex employees? Well, I could type about that for hours but I will spare you the time. Just my 2 cents

not only is the stuff bad. they will fire your if you put it in the handyman pallet, also the manager is drunk everyday and they are prejudice 100% ! The owner talks down to employees and only cares about listing junk! They hire guys from halfway house cause we desperately need a job and u think you on the road to redemption but going through them you not, they fire you and don't tell you why? the end they'll have another employee do it, the drunk boss and owner don't say ###!

My experiences have been very good...3 e-bay purchases ...Merchandise was as advertised, shipped quickly...Actually no complaints...Great bargains ...You have to realize...This is " all "salvage" merchandise...It got to them for liquidation...For a "reason"...Read the descriptions...Look at the pictures..."closely" ...You probably won't have any problems...As stated...Mine were very satisfactory...Exactly as described & pictured...If...I would of had a problem...Who knows ? ...After reading the negative comments... Recently, what i have noticed...The shipping costs have skyrocketed dramatically...Maybe that is where they are going to make up "profits"...Do your homework diligently...You might be like me...Be very satIsfied...

i WAS LOOKING AT A COUPLE ITEMS THIS COMPANY HAS ON EBAY, THEN WANTED TO KNOW WHERE THEY WERE BASED WHEN I FOUND THIS SITE. I ALSO READ WHAT FORMER EMPLOYEES ARE DESCRIBING THE PRODUCT ORIGINS. THEY ARE GETTING THIS STUFF BY THE TRUCKLOAD AT AUCTION. (I'VE BEEN INVOLVED WITH THIS STUFF FOR A FEW YEARS). THE HOME DEPOT STUFF COMES FROM GEORGIA, PRIMARILY CUSTOMER RETURNS BUT THERE ARE OCCASIONAL SHELF PULLS, DISCONTINUED ITEMS WHICH ARE NEW. USUALLY A TRUCKLOAD WILL HAVE ABOUT 15% TO 25% DEFECTIVE, BROKEN OR MISSING PARTS.
TO THOSE WHO BUY $10K. MORE OR LESS; I'M GOING TO LET YOU IN ON A LITTLE SECRET WHICH ISN'T SO SECRET ANYMORE. IF YOU HAVE A RESALE NUMBER FROM YOUR STATE YOU CAN BUY TRUCKLOADS OF HOME DEPOT ITEMS, WALMART ITEMS AND OTHER NATIONAL CHAINS WHICH SELL THEM DIRECT THROUGH A COMPANY CALLED B-STOCH. B-STOCK HANDLES THE ADMINISTRATIVE PART OF THE AUCTION AND MERCHANDISE IS SHIPPED OUT FROM THE STORES WAREHOUSES. YOU EVEN GET TO SEE A MANIFEST OF EVERY ITEM IN THE AUCTION YOU ARE BIDDING ON AND THE RETAIL COST. THEY HAVE YELLOW, GREEN OR RED STICKERS ON ALL THE ITEMS THAT WERE RETURNED. THE COST OF TRUCKLOADS HAVE GONE WAY UP IN THE LAST COUPLE YEARS, ESPECIALLY TOOLS.
IT IS A LOT OF WORK BUT YOU CAN AND WILL MAKE MONEY. SET A PRICE ON EACH LOAD YOU WANT TO BID ON AND DO NOT GO OVER IT. YOU CAN WATCH AUCTIONS FOR A FEW WEEKS, DOWNLOAD MANIFESTS AND PRETTY MUCH FIGURE OUT WHAT PRICE MAKES SENSE FOR YOUR CUSTOMER BASE. REMEMBER, THERE WILL BE A SHIPPING CHARGE FOR THE TRUCKLOADS FROM ARIZONA, ILLINOIS OR A STATE CLOSE TO THERE AND GEORGIA.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE, I HOPE YOU ALL DO WELL. I LOVE SUCCESS STORIES. I'VE EVEN HELPED MY COMPETITION GET OUT OF CLOSING DOWN AND BANKRUPTCY TO NOW MAKING MONEY.
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE KEY TO THIS BUSINESS, YOU DONT HAVE TO GIVE CASH REFUNDS BUT YOU WILL NEED TO OFFER STORE CREDIT WITH A WEEK OR TWO. ENJOY

Do not buy from Empire Liquidators! They will rip you off! Do not pay attention to positive reviews as they are posted by the management of Empire Liquidators. I purchased a microwave on eBay that had been "tested". It was defective when I received it. I arranged for a return, shipped it back to them, and return delivery was documented by UPS. Empire Liquidators says they never received it, will not refund me and have been absolutely terrible to deal with. Avoid them at all costs!
