Car Booted
My housing subdivision hired this company to maintain parking but they are scammers. Upon moving to my house I wasn't given a manual nor will they show evidence in a manual if you request to see it. My car was park properly and I had a residence parking pass on it but they informed me that I should have not parked in the place I parked because they are designated for visitors and only visitors can parked there at night. But there are no signs informing you of this.
Unethical Business Practices / Fraudulent Charges / Predatory Business Practices
On 11-28-2015, 1:05PM, I paid for parking in the Steamhouse Lounge lot on West Peachtree Street near 11th Street. I opted for two hour parking rather than 24 hour parking, which was the $3 charge. I returned at 3:05PM (on the dot) to exit the lot; to my surprise and dismay I found my car had been booted. I called the number and a guy showed up to un-boot my car for a $75 fee. I asked why they did not give me a grace period of at least one or two minutes, and the guy had no viable answer other than "..not our policy." I plan on reporting this to my bank as a fraudulent charge. It is my belief that the penalty fee should be appropriate to fit the violation. A $75 fine for being one or two minutes late (if that) is excessive to the extreme. I was not parked in the lot illegally (because I did pay a fee to park). If you go to Steamhouse Lounge, do yourself a favor and use their valet parking service or use the metered parking rather than the LAZ lot across the street.
Predatory practices/unlawful booting
On 10/21/2015, I parked at 438 Peachtree St. Their is a Public Parking sign as you enter the lot. There was no kiosk due to construction so I went across the street to the kiosk and purchase a full day of parking. Put my ticket on my dash and went into my work building. When I got back to my car that afternoon, there were two boots. I called the number on the window sticker and told them that I had paid and the boots were put on erroneously. When the technician arrived in a beat up mustang (tape holding his back glass together) with magnetic EPS signs, I requested that the boots be removed. He stated that it would be $75.00. That I had parked there without a permit. I asked him where was the signage that it was a permit parking only lot as I had parked there the week before and it was transient parking. He said that there was no signs but actually the lot was closed. Again, I asked him where is the signage and why are the gates open then? I explained that I was not trying to get out of paying. I paid my money across the street which is a Lanier Parking lot as well. He said that did not matter. Pay the money or I wouldn't get my car. As time was of the essence, I ask for the phone number to call my credit card number into. He said that he would take it. I laughed because surely he wasn't serious. No one in the present day writes down credit card numbers. There are these nifty little POS devices that snap right into your smartphone (maybe EPS should invest in some). I told him I was not comfortable giving my CC number to someone in a ratty car. He said that he had the car sign but you can have those made anywhere. After going back and forth, he said pay or I don't get my car. I still feel violated and extorted. They don't listen to you when you try to explain. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I have filled out one of their dispute forms to no avail. There is absolutely NO signage in this lot to indicate that it is permit parking only or that it is closed. The only signage is a big PUBLIC PARKING sign. To most people, it would simply look like free parking. Beware of where you park in Atlanta because they seem to be everywhere and unscrupulous.
Unnecessary Car Booting
This evening I paid for two hours of parking in stall #576 at Eagle Parking. I arrived at my car around 15 minutes past the expired time. I found Technician 117 walking away from my car, boots already set and in place. Now, I can fully understand being 45 minutes late, however I feel less than 10 (time allotted to put on and document boot) is quite ridiculous. I feel like faith in humanity not resorted. The entire situation seemed very sketchy. Was Technician 117 waiting for my time to expire? Is less than 10 minutes really worth a $75 ticket? This was an example of very poorly conducted business and it was a super unfortunate and disappointing situation.
Medical emergency due to panic attack. Pulled in to lot and paid 3 dollers fee. Came outside and car booted due to back right tear in lane next to me and will not take off boot until paid . Left stranded anno extra money due to emergency bill. Patient in car needing to pick up med asap. No compassion . Left for two hours to punish me for video taping. I had no money and sick son with no way to pick up meds. This happened 3/9/2016 on ralph mcgill. Called police. Private parking and must be civil suit. When asked technician 130 to call his supervisor, he gave me number . Called supervisor to explain situation paid for service but didn't notice back right rear tire was not all the way in my lane. Left message that it could take up to 24 hrs for someone to return call. I needed medication asap. I had no money due to medical bill. He wanted $75 or no removel. WAITING 24 was not an option since I needed patients med. He was mad because I was video taping everything. He pulled his Hoodia over his head. WHY ? No compassion, I followed the rules. They got their money for parking. But wanted more due to the right tire. I offered 3 dollers and was declined. No managers, no customer service, no compassion. That's not the Atlanta I grew up in. I want my money back. I have pics and video. Putting this all over social media and I'm call the news.
Predatory parking services
I recently went downtown atlanta to get an expedient passport from the Atlanta passport agency and was forced to use a paid parking lot near the building. Thankfully the service the agency did not take long and i end up only using the lot for about an hour. I came out to find my car booted and when call the number the guy that came was not intrested in what i had to say. He started out with just saying that if i was going to pay with a card or cash. When i asked him why my car was booted he said that i got the ticket from another customer who had already parked there and that the ticket was non-transferable. Mind you i really didnt take into consideration that on the top of the ticket it said that, but i thought with the guy already paying $25 to parking for the whole day and only using it for a couple of hours that it would be ok for me to use it also for couple of hours. I knew i was wrong for maybe the policy that this company had set up but to not even give me tve option of paying the $25 for the day and nit even offer some kind of consideration when dealing with customers. The guy that drove up to me didnt even look at me while he was talking and was very rude and abrupt talking to me. He had no intention of just talking to me man to man or simple just acting normal to a fellow human being. I really hope for the sake of his own well-being he tones down the abuptive tone and attitude. Lastly it is quite obvious that this company has very preditary way of doing business because this has happened to me before qhen i couldnt find a paying machine to pay for parking. There is usually no one around to help you with the machine but as soon as you leave the parking lot there is someone there to boot your car and try to extort $75 from you.
Hopefully you learned you lesson and will pay to park, as you are supposed to, next time you are using a paid parking lot.
Booted and Extorted for Money
Do not park in any of the lots in Atlanta, as a visitor to this city it is amazing that the City allows such predatory extortion to go on. We had a meeting with an Architectural firm, parked in the lot across the street, PAID for 3 hours. Our meeting was running a bit long so we came down to our car and we had gone 11 minutes past our time (11 minutes) and our car was booted and we had to pay $75 to get the boots taken off. The guy in the truck said he was an independent contractor for the CITY?
Deceptive and Unethical Booting
Like one other victim on this post I too was booted at the Disco Kroger at Piedmont and Peachtree. I parked near the Kroger part of this huge parking lot. There was NO SIGNAGE WHATSOEVER WITHIN 200 FT. OR MORE OF MY CAR.
I saw nothing to indicate I was going to be booted or towed. I walked across the street to eat since I wasn't sure about where to park at Tower Place with all the construction, etc. I had dinner and returned around 11:40 P.M. and found a boot on my car and a bright orange sticker on the window.
I WAS FURIOUS! I don't have a cell but luckily the guy with the sweeping truck saw me and asked if that was my car with the boot on it and I said yes. He said the guy from the booting company was here or just put it on. So I flagged him down and asked why on God's Green Earth I have a boot on my car. He tells me there is a sign that says if you leave the property you will be booted. I said "Where pray tell is this magical sign.?" He points to places in the very far corners and when you come i n to the property at the stop sign and I tell him how am I supposed to see those signs from 300 ft. away? You need a sign within eye-shot if you want to legitimately boot me and he says they have signs and they have cameras in the shopping centers and they know when you leave your car.
I begged him to cut me a break because I don't even have a job and $50 is a lot of money. He says there is nothing he can do. Do I want the boot removed? I asked to speak to his supervisor and he says they are all gone for the day. I'd have to wait till tomorrow so reluctantly I pull out my credit card. He has me sign the receipt and gives me a copy. I see a mini camcorder on the passenger side window. I will call them up and raise HOLY HELL! THIS IS TOTAL B.S.! Legal Racketeering at it's best!
To add insult to injury, I couldn't get the adhesive to come off my window so I had to go back to Kroger since it was 12:45 AM and nothing else was open and but some rubbing alcohol to remove the adhesive! WORKS LIKE A CHARM!
COST ME ABOUT $52 plus my dinner. Found out parking is free at Tower Place after 6! Makes me think twice before going into BUCKHEAD!

unethical parking boot charges
these guys are crooks, pure and simple! we parked at lenox one evening and saw no visible signs regarding any parking restrictions. having eaten dinner we returned to our car with a boot on it, and within seconds, a shady looking guy came out of the shadows in a truck offering to take the boot off if i paid $50. i asked for an explanation, and he pointed to a sign, well out of sight from where i parked my car, that said that these spots were for patrons of one part of the mall, but not the other (the one part did not have available parking, however!). i had no choice but to pay the $50 if i was going to have my car back - pure extortion.
i called Empire parking the next day and several days thereafter but they would not return my calls or address my complaint.
if you are a vendor who hired this company, i recommend that all those reading these posts boycott your business and any affiliated businesses - you are encouraging unethical business practices, and deserve to be punished.

This is very similar to another story posted on this exact website, but it just happened to my gf and I on 6/30/2012. Around 2pm, we went to the Starbucks Coffee at 506 Moreland Avenue in Little Five Points. We bought drinks after parking in a spot with no warning around it. There are 4 spots designated as parking only for a Cleaners and another small business, but we made sure to not park at those spots. We got our drinks, came out drinking them, and then decided to walk around a bit and then come back.
When we did, we came back to a notice on the car telling us that it had been booted and our only option was to call a number. We did, and across the parking lot, I notice a man in a truck who I had seen staring at us pick up the phone. Sure enough, the words on the other end of the phone came from him. He told us it would be a $50 fine and that we needed to come to his truck. I don't see how this is legal at all since we were paying customers of the Starbucks previously mentioned. We told him that both on the phone and in person, but he repeatedly kept saying the phrase "it's on the 7 foot (sic) sign right there". When my girlfriend took a second while I was speaking to him to go attempt to read the "7 foot sign", she had to get within 3 feet of it to physically be able to read it. The font on these signs is such that you cannot possibly view them in a car as you are parking. They have several paragraphs on the sign in microscopic font, and the signs at this location were enshrouded by trees/plant growth, making the text very obscured and difficult to read.
The most sketchy part about this whole thing is that there is someone who is paid to sit there in a truck and wait on someone to physically leave the premises so that he can boot your car. When I told him we were paying customers, with my gf and I both holding Starbucks cups that in essence proved we had just come from the Starbucks in this "business center", he said it did not matter and that "as soon as you walk off the premises, we can boot your car. It's on the 7 foot (sic) sign". As though the guy had some sort of nervous tick, he said the phrase "7 foot sign" repeatedly when questioned to the legality of the whole situation, as though that somehow constitutes a contract between us, the paying customers that this company is supposedly trying to "protect" against freeloading "illegal parkers" according to their site, and the businesses at this small mini strip mall on Moreland. You have to walk over to a truck with a man inside of it. You don't know if he is going to pull a gun on you, you don't know if he is trustworthy or not, just that he booted your car and you can't do anything about it. He also had a video camera filming she and I the entire time we were at his truck. I assume they do this to protect their "technicians" in case they get a combative "client", but how is it legal to film someone that doesn't consent to it?
My issue with this whole ordeal is that we WERE paying customers of this property, so why it is right to boot us (which directly contradicts EPS' vision on their site) is beyond me. If this is to stay at this location, I will NEVER come back to it or give my money to any business / chain that supports EPS. If you can make a living off of treating someone rudely and punishing them monetarily for shopping somewhere and doing nothing wrong, where is the line legally? This is entrapment, this is unethical, and it shames me to think these sort of "businesses" exist in this country that simply exist to make a quick buck by being vultures that prey on people over quasi-legally binding signs being placed in a business that are not even clearly visible or able to be read by a human being in a car, you have to be within 3 feet of them to read them.
To the business owners who think that this is a good method of protecting your bottom line: myself and many others still believe in the old version of America. We will not support your business if you do things like this, and if your goal is to eliminate people who are taking parking spaces from "paying customers", you should learn to not punish people who actually DID support your business and fine those who did not. I will never come back to your business and I will tell everyone I know not to go to any business that "hires" EPS. You WILL lose money from doing this once you anger enough people. Every business has competition, and I can always go get an identical product elsewhere that will treat me better and give my money to someone else. I will be voting with my wallet on this one, and you will never see another dime from me or anything I know.

Fraudulent Vehicle Booting
My car was booted on 12/4/2011 at the EPS parking lot at 880 Peachtree St. NW even though I had paid the $5 parking fee. Had to pay $75 to remove. On December 3, 2011 at 9:30 p.m. I parked by 2001 Honda Civic, NC license ZSB 7664 in space 14 of the EPS lot at 880 Peachtree St. NW in Atlanta. I didn't have a $5 bill to place in the payment box, so I went...

Today, at approximately 11:40am, I was charged $75 by an unprofessional-looking man, in a white car with a magmatic 'Empire Parking Services' sign attached because he claimed I did not pay for my duration in Stall #92 at the 76 Forsyth Street parking garage. Being that I needed to get to work, and he refused to listen to my claim, I let him swipe my credit card for $75 to remove the boot.
At 9:47 I put an hour of time onto Stall #92, but then decided to add an additional hour, so during a separate transaction paid $3 for an additional hour, thinking that my expiry time would be 11:47. It turns out that either the machine was not working and did not pick up my second transaction or that you are unable to 'add time' so my second hour was not counted. I have not been able to get a clear answer because I stupidly parked in a trashy parking garage where the attendants and customer service were unable to answer why my second transaction did not successfully put time on my Stall.
Nonetheless, when I tried to explain this situation to your employee he refused to even talk to me or look me in the eye and was on his cellphone. Like I said, I had to get to work, so let him swipe my card but refused to actually sign the credit card or EPS receipt.
I called trying to explain this situation to your company, but of course no one I talked to was receptive.
I am disputing this charge with my bank as well, and am hoping that institution will recognize how unprofessional, shady and predatory your company is.

I had a similar experience with these crooks. I put money in the slot when I left the lot. When I came back the next morning, my money was still in the slot, but the car was booted. The technician claimed that there was no money in the slot when he checked it the night before. He refused to show a video. He only showed a video after I called the police, and the video showed only the empty receptacle inside the cash box. Of course, that receptacle would only show coins if I had dropped them in – the $5 bill I folded up and stuffed in was still lodged in the slot above. I contacted the Better Business Bureau but had no luck (so far). I called Chris Aughtman, the GM, and he promised to look into it and call me back, but of course he never did. These people are crooks who only care about ripping people off. For them the customer is only wrong, and it’s a crying shame that the city of Atlanta allows them to continue to rob honest people who get lured in by a cheap parking rate. They don’t make their money from the $5 per day fees. They make their money by groundlessly booting cars from out of state. Someone needs to stop them.
all the info u need to know to cost them money

I just got hijacked for $75.00 because they put a boot on my son's car while he was doing a delivery for Uber Eats. This is criminal and I don't like being held for ransom by a private company...not even the city or cops. Ridiculous. I am going to dispute the charge just to give them some grief.
Racist Practices
On the 4th of July Empire came and booted everyone they could while we were watching fireworks in the parking lot. I was standing next to my car watching the fireworks and he put a boot on the tire right behind me. He said I violated the "left property" policy of the lot. How did I leave my property if I was standing next to it? This was the case for dozens of other people. When asking where the signs were he said "you must be a real [censored] to not see the signs." After walking around the parking lot, I still couldn't find a sign. The comments in other complaints about the racism on this evening are absolutely true. He drove around and let the white people go, some without paying and told the Hispanics, Middle Easterners, Indians, Asians, and Blacks that they would have to wait because they're "non-Americans." The icing on the cake was when the guy apparently threatened a man WITH HIS KIDS by saying he had a gun. At this point the police were called. If anyone else was at Buckhead Station (1 Buckhead Loop Rd, Atlanta, Ga, 30350) and witnessed this, an attorney has suggested we file a lawsuit for the discrimination. If anyone wants to complain about this incident, the racist employee is number 117 and the number to call is [protected]. Please call and ask to speak to someone in management regarding this situation. It's 2010, racism is not acceptable.
UPDATE:: Please call [protected] and ask to talk to Chris. He is the owner of EPS and a very down to Earth nice guy. He is trying to sort out the July 4th incident and doing a fantastic job. I suppose it is nice to see that Empire is not just a large corporation, but actually has an owner that cares about his business.

Not at all. AnotherRegularGuy is right about the response from them. I had a problem that was quickly sorted out by calling and talking to them (instead of ranting and raving online). Call and talk to them first. [protected] and ask to speak to a manager.
Lmao he isn't a nice guy he's a complete a-hole who will reassure you and lie to say anything to make you feel like he gives a damn . please dont buy his ### his cell number is [protected]
Booting and Assault
I had the most horrifying experience with one of this company's car booters. I paid for my space, put the ticket in my windshield, and went to my Dr's appointment. I leave the Dr's office around 12:55p and crossing the street I notice an orange ticket on my driver's side window. By this time it is 1:02p, he sees me at the car and asks is it my car? I answered and ask why is it booted? He stated no ticket in the windshield. I stated there is a ticket in the windshield and started looking in my purse for my keys. I get the ticket and show it to him and then he states well it's 1:14p and your ticket expired at 1:04p, so you are 10 minutes passed your time and you have to give me $75.00. I said sir, When I came to my car I was on time, had it not been a boot on the car I would have long been gone. Needless to say this conversation got ugly. He turned away, I followed him to his car and he pushed me. I went to his car door he told me to get away. I told him I needed to have the boot off, he said I had to wait an hour he would be back. I wouldn't move so he shoved me so hard that I stumbled and he slammed his door and drove away. In the meantime people were watching, video taping, and calling the Police. He didn't get away with this injustice to a defenseless Woman! He is in jail and I will be going to court on Monday! I still had to pay the $75.00 to get the boot removed beccause the gentlemen that came to remove it stated they didn't know anything about the situation although the Police and everything were still there. I have been waiting several hours for the Manager to call me back to no avail. How can the City of Atlanta keep letting these fly by night companies do injustices like this to tax paying citizens. My thought is if there has to be a boot system, let it be city ran. That would be revenue that the city can collect and tax payers will not be shammed this way!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The gentleman was never arrested and never assaulted this woman. There is video evidence to prove the woman was the aggressor and the booting technician was trying to defuse the situation by leaving the property because the woman was acting completely irrational.
Unethical, predatory fee collection
On Saturday night, 11/28/09, my girlfriend and I visited the Starbucks at 506 Moreland Avenue in the Little Five Points neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia 30307. We parked in the front parking lot and after buying our drinks, decided to, as we have done on many other occasions, walk around the shopping area while we enjoyed them. Upon our return, we found our...
