They took $267.44 extra dollars from me
They took $267.44 extra dollars from me. They deny the calculations. First of all, when you login to Fairstone you can see how much goes to Interest. So, I called and I said this is the total amount of money I paid through biweekly payments and this how much it went to Interest. When I asked for the "Payout" amount, the *** just added interest of 67.16 to the current balance. Which doesn't make sense when all previous biweekly payments- the Interest was subtracted using the current balance. This person added an extra 67.16 to the current balance. Also, calculating the Interest and subtracting from the amount I paid in total and then subtracting from the initial loan amount. It totals 200.28 , where the hell is that money going? It obviously did not go to the Interest. The *** was literally laughing on the phone when I was inquiring about this. They stole extra money from me. This is disgusting
The application process was easy
The application process was easy. However, like many here I was never informed by my rep of the insurance. He physically made me breeze through the application while he was there so I missed the costly insurance. Sadly by the time I caught it a few months lapsed. I had lost my job in the middle and tried to process a claim 3 times through my insurance which never happened. After that I decided to cancel the insurance to save myself nearly 4k which also was incurring interest which is so terribly wrong. After missing 1 month of payments from lack of work I was assured if I made a $100 payment they would defer the month I missed. Now I am receiving calls from them weekly to make payments when I am caught up. This company is a scam and do NOT give them your money. Once I get my year end bonus I am paying this off and will never ever return to them again. Loan sharks seem like a better option then them. They are worse then a collections agency.

I paid my furniture off in full and was charged an undisclosed amount in interest even though I was assured that if the payment for the furniture was completed by June 12, no interest would be levied. I settled my account on June 11, 2022. Subsequently, I received a call from Fairstone claiming that I owe an amount in interest because payments made on weekends take three days to process due to their non-operational status during those days. My attempts to reach customer service were futile, and when I finally managed to get through, I was redirected to the collections department. Moreover, this ordeal has negatively impacted my credit rating. I find this company's practices to be dishonest and fraudulent.
Fairstone Financial Inc. is a financial institution that profits from consumers, leaving them financially vulnerable and in a precarious situation. This is how they operate. I wish there was justice in this world, but sadly it often seems lacking. I hope that Fairstone will find fulfillment in providing assistance to a single mom, as this world can sometimes appear too evil and greedy.
I bought furniture from *** and the no interest offer seemed like a good deal
I bought furniture from *** and the no interest offer seemed like a good deal. Buy now and pay equal payments...no interest. Everything was fine until I got calls from their collection department that I was overdue. I pay every month and could not get an explanation. THe paper statements were up to date. Their collection dept told me to call Customer Service. The line would open and be immediately dropped. This went on for 2 days. Finally I got through but then their automated system kept kicking me out. Incredibly frustrating. Finally got through. Absolutely horrible service. I could not get an explanation as to why I am being charged for a late payment. The woman who handles these calls has zero patience or understanding and should not be handling customer issues. After several calls trying to understand the charge, I gave up. It's $101 dollars down the drain. Fairstone is unethical and I seriously think this is how they make their money back...but charging unfairly.

Fairstone offers credit through Bestbuy to buy appliances on fixed monthly instalments. what they dont articulate openly that it will impact your credit score. The credit is a revolving credit and if you pay monthly it could take years before you pay off 70% of your credit balance. till then when the report to credit company it will show high balance on your FS credit card which impact your credit score everytime thee report (according to equifax)) try to call and reason with fairstone but they guy who received a call was very argumentative and rude and make me feel like it is customers fault. will never deal or recommend *** to any of my froends.

I already have a loan with them which i am paying every 2 weeks. When I asked for another smaller loan, they kept on asking for documents instead of saying yes or no to the loan. the receptionist seemed to screen me and not answer my calls and today i made a phone call to learn what had happened and they hung up my call. ***, the person who was supposed to be taking care of my application, completely ignored me and has not left even a message on my phone or send me an email.
Fairstone has Terrible customer service .I never want to deal with them again.. rude and condescending employees
I want to send you a big thank you for helping me when I need it the most. I was suffering with my teeth and couldn't find help anywhere..But then I contacted you. You guys got right on it for me. And within hours the money was in my bank to get going on my teeth. Again. I appreciate all the help. Send you all a Marry Christmas. And a Wonderful new Years.
We purchased some furniture from *** using a Fairstone retail card
We purchased some furniture from *** using a Fairstone retail card. Since purchasing said furniture we have been harassed by Fairstone every single day on both mine and my wifes cell phones by their sales team. Sometimes multiple times a day. They continually call you using high pressure sales tactics to sell you higher limits or to try and transfer your account to a higher interest account type. We are currently refinancing our house and needed Fairstone to provide us with an up-to-date statement that we could use to pay out and close the account. After several calls to Fairstone I was either hung up on multiple times because the representative didn't know how to help or I was told that "they cannot give out statements via email or fax". This policy violates my right to information regarding credit cards and is unlawful. After many attempts to access my information from Fairstone our lawyer finally contacted them and now we have the information we need after 28 days of trying. Please take my advice and never use Fairstone Retail credit services

I called them up and talked to a fellow named ****, who seemed very friendly
I called them up and talked to a fellow named ***, who seemed very friendly. He told me that he could do better then a 10K loan, since I own my own home and he was given the information about my outstanding credit card balance. He said, getting me a 20K loan would help pay that off. He send me forms to sign through email electronically and then I came in to pick up the loan agreement and signed the final paper in person. After paying 15 payments of $848 and giving them over 12K, I decided to go in to find out my remaining balance. I was told I had a 27K loan, which I disputed and said it was for 20K. They then told me I had signed for insurance and my remaining balance was ***. They told me they couldn't help me and made me feel stupid for not reading all of my online loan agreement. I just e-signed the boxes I thought I had to e-sign for the loan. I said this whole thing was sketchy and asked them if they also took advantage of the elderly. Apparently, you don't need to make your customers aware of 7K insurance tacked onto a loan to *** up all your money.

Fairstone Company must cease contact and correct credit report errors.
This company doesn't merit any praise as logging a review requires contacting Fairstone Company, which I've tried multiple times without success. Management has been asked to halt all contact and mailings. Despite disputing inaccuracies, they persist in providing terrible service and accessing my credit score without justification. Their actions are unscrupulous and lack control. They should not be operating in the Canadian market without adhering to proper standards. Fairstone must remove the false information from my credit report and stop accessing it. I have no debt and demand an end to this mistreatment. I've reached out via email to their management to have this issue resolved, but the lack of professional ethics among the staff is appalling.
Worst customer support experience Ive ever had!
Worst customer support experience Ive ever had!I had to wait AN HOUR only to be hung up on by some young punk with an attitude problem. All I was trying to do was get my credit card information all updated because I had gotten an email saying I had missed a payment on this laptop I just starting making payments on last month so I updated it on the website a couple day ago and I still havent been deducted. So I called Bestbuy TWICE, only to be told to call Fairstone. So, after waiting 45+mins to get through calling those 2 times to Bestbuy I was forced to wait another 15+mins trying to get through to Fairstone customer service and when I finally think Im at the end of this whole ordeal I get a worker on the phone who has abit of an attitude and me being a little impatient having being on a goose chase trying to update my info so you guys at Fairstone can get your payment. I asked this guy Id wish to speak to someone who is abit more friendly to make the experience abit more pleasant given the whole circumstance only to be laughed at and hung up on. Now I really dont think you guys at Fairstone condone the treatment of your customers like this so I suggest action being taken so an example can be made of him. If this is to left as is without consequences whose to say this employee wont treat future customers this way and effectively loosing future customers and future business while doing it.Id appreciate a response Thank you

SCAM ARTISTS, received a call yesterday 2 months after getting a rotating loan to increase my loan amount
SCAM ARTISTS, received a call yesterday 2 months after getting a rotating loan to increase my loan amount. I could use the money so why not what can you do for me. Explained I just got the account 2 months ago, how would i qualify for an increase? Have you looked at my account and had opened your loan qualifications and or have run some numbers to qualify myself for more? Is this a cold call? Then he goes on to say they're doing some low end promotion to be entered to win $500 which is just white smoke as an excuse to call you. He goes on to say I will qualify but needs to check my credit to determine the amount. Low and behold my credit hasn't changed in 2 months... so of course I don't qualify for an increase. I asked him 5 times if he ran my credit or if he finally looked at my account to the increase and was TOLD 5 TIMES HE DIDN"T RUN IT. Needless to say I was notified of a credit check damaging my credit next day. This is a money grab, they are only calling in the off chance the new rotating loan they received from *** increased ppl's credit after so they can get more out of their client base. Meanwhile after promising increases that don't happen more time then not because it's only 60 days has damased a wide spread client bases credit. I get it business but WOW how many other idiots like myself had their credit damaged over this cold call BS. Called back to today, after 2 calls today he will try to call equifax to rectify but "no promises" LOL. Just don't answer the phone if they call.

I think it is important for everyone to know what they're getting into before they jump in
I think it is important for everyone to know what they're getting into before they jump in. If there are other options aside from Fairstone, take that route instead. I am a young man with excellent credit who saw the utility of using Fairstone at Best Buy under their 0% interest plans to purchase a . The *** was $1,850.00. Although I have the money to buy it, I would sooner build credit for free which makes more sense to me. Now, 4 months down the road, here we are. Every time I make a payment they, they call me 1 or 2 days later explaining that I have a past due amount plus the interest accrued for that missed payment. I tell them I have made a payment (2x higher than my minimum at that), to which they "add a note" on my account. I personally don't appreciate my account showing all these "Past Due" notes when I am paying substantially more than required. After that, I have to call them. I sit on hold repeatedly as they continuously hang up on me for hours. Finally reaching someone, now I have to babysit and make certain they managed to figure out that I have in fact made a payment, not that I get stuck with pesky late fees for being a good customer. As a fellow consumer, I would like everyone to know that there is no reason it should be this difficult for me (the customer) to pay them. My account is good, my credit is excellent, and I pay 2 times per month. Imagine the difficulty you will face if you are only making minimums. They could easily bully you into paying late fees and take you to collections. Dont do it. Good day

We had a vehicle loan through fairstone and we got into an accident and as honest people we paid off that loan
We had a vehicle loan through fairstone and we got into an accident and as honest people we paid off that loan. We made a claim through our insurance company and even though they got the check on a Monday they still took out the vehicle payment on the following Friday. Now our loan was a little over *** dollars but we had sent the whole insurance check to fairstone. It was cashed and said we would get the remaining balance working 30 BUSINESS DAYS it has now been 64 business days 93 regular days. So it is ok for fairstone to not do what theyre supposed to but if we miss a payment they ruin our credit or take our car. When calling customer service it takes an hour to two hours to get through (due to work at home csr) and because nobody can get through to anyone we have to call multiple times now its a business day and my husband called customer service to see whats going on and they said its not their problem or their area to speak on this matter and to call back and press option 2 so I called back pressing option 1 2 and 3 but low and behold it says theyre not open today yet somehow customer service is. I am ready to say s*** it all and s*** my credit id rather deal with a bad credit rating that deal with actual scam artists who should be ashamed of themselves. So heres to me saying u want my payment yall will get it in 30 business days! If its not ok for me to do it it definitely shouldnt be ok for a business to do it. Hopefully one day fairstone can get their business in check at one time I did trust them after they stole from me I dont want anything to do with them

This is about Fairstone Branch Issues
This is about Fairstone Branch. We took out a mortgage secured loan of $30K in 2019 which was paid off in November . We never received any formal confirmation that the loan has been paid off. Now in 2022 we are in the process of renewing our mortgage and the bank found that Fairstone still has a lien charge on our property with the land and title, Fairstone never process or request for the discharge of the loan on our property with the land and title until now April 2022. We have reached out to the branch manager of the Fairstone branch in question and even after several attempts and promises that she will request a letter confirming that we have in fact paid off the loan. We have heard nothing, now they are literally ignoring our calls. We are at the verge of losing our house as we are unable to renew our mortgage with the Fairstone lien and charge still on the property. The worst part is there is no head office number to call for Fairstone, there is no complaint line and the message I received from Fairstone branch is below. Clearly she does not care. ...Your request for either a signed discharge or undertaking to provide same has been forwarded to me. Due to recent changes to our business, we are now subject to OSFI oversight. Accordingly, Fairstone does not fall under the definition of an institution required to provide either one of the requested items. We will provide a registered or registrable discharge according to Fairstones policies for providing mortgage discharges. Thank you for your attention to this matter, Your Fairstone Team Branch Manager SE Fairstone Financial Inc.

I personally visited a branch at keel st, ***
I personally visited a branch at keel st, ***.It is hard to find the place, there is no sign of fairstone anywhere around the place, so I called the office for navigation, but instead of navigate me he hanged the phone. Called back and ask for manager again, but he hanged again, so now I just wanted to find the place and file a compliment about the guy with the manager, but when I found the place, he invited me to the office from the hall, and I realized he works alone. He offered me seat to sit, and he set behind his desk as well. As I set down I saw an other customer's document and a large photocopy of a customer drivers licence, so just as I landed on the chair I realized I have nothing to do there. Even I have to complain online. Then he started to speak, but I told him I don't want to deal with him anymore, I just wanted to see his manager. Again before I go there I didn't know he works alone. So as I stand up from chair it just came to my mind to shoot a photo of his desk, and as I had my phone in my hand all time it was easy to shoot a photo, but this time he also was up from chair and showing the way out, when he see the display of my phone, so he took it out of my hand, and started to CHOKING ME. He literally has grabbed my neck with his hand and tried to choke me. I tried to escape and yelled for help. 2 other guy came there, and helped me out. I have screeches all over my neck and on my nose. I called the police, filed a report. Now I'm looking for a lawyer to learn about my options.Luckily no serious injuries done to me, however I have been hurt. I have a report of those as well. That guy must be a psychopath, who ever read this before go to this place in person, think twice. I only give 1 star, because you have to rate them at least 1 star to be able to place the order.

Honestly, I would leave them a zero star if I could
Honestly, I would leave them a zero star if I could. Judging from the other reviews this isn't an isolated incident at one location, but seems to be happening everywhere.I myself wasn't the applicant, but was going to be a cosigner. The applicant was my mother.Fairstone, in NS, had "guaranteed approval" for her loan, -if- she: got her credit card balance back under the limit (she did), provided copious amounts of paperwork (she provided it all), her partner got a loan (he did and was approved), and got a cosigner (hello). Then, I also had to provide all the same paperwork, but because my paystub had a spot for tips they couldn't use it and I had to forward a copy of my 2020 and 2021 T4s and they still "couldn't make the budget work". To not my surprise after a month of hoop jumping and circus tricks, they didn't approve her for the loan she had been guaranteed. They even tried to tell her that it was because the amount wouldn't cover what she wanted to do with it, even though two other payments had been made on Other Thing - they told her that didn't matter and it was all based on the amount Other Thing was at the start of the process. Did I mention that it took two weeks for me to get the agent handling her application on the phone, after the inital phone call? Their customer service is a joke, and I'm certain the only reason why my paystub went through the fourth time I sent it was because I had her on the phone and told her I could do it as many times as I needed to. But she was always either on the other line or with another client - and they never call you back when they say they will. The icing on all of this, aside from the hit my own credit took on the check for being cosinger was that they turned around and told my mom that -I- could get a loan instead!? No thanks.I feel like she dodged a finiancial bullet with this company, even if Other Things payments an interest are higher - at least they aren't lying sharks, just normal ones.

Recently, due to the Pandemic and the chance of being laid off I reached out to Fairstone as I have a loan with them which has been paid on time
Recently, due to the Pandemic and the chance of being laid off I reached out to Fairstone as I have a loan with them which has been paid on time, and in full for the past year. I was instructed by the salesman *** whom obtained this loan for me via Fairstone. Well let's just say the following has occurred in the past year, upon recieving the vehicle, wheel studs had started breaking the vehicle due to the Fact that ***, had installed the wrong tires and rims. I had to replace the parts myself out of pocket with still no payment from *** as promised. Other issues with the vehicle are as follows: - non reported damage to vehicle - vehicle pulls very hard to right, even after they claimed to have fixed it - transmission lunges forward, or shifts roughly when driving lurching vehicle forward unsafely - unreadable dash serial number - claimed to have sent money to me but returned due to NSA, No such address? How did they deliver me the loaner vehicle then if they don't have my address. And much much more. I tried to reach out to Fairstone to inform them of these issues and see if they could assist me with *** in having these issues resolved. After several emails , voicemail, attempts the only thing which occurred is the FACT that payments started coming out to create NSF charges at my bank, as they take payments out when they feel like it and do not stay true to their word. I tried reaching out to Fairstone to obtain financing for a holiday trailer to live in as I know my job will be stopped due to the covid 19 issues we are facing. Trying to look into the future and secure a place to live, due to the fact that I have to be out of the residence I rent on May 1st due to the fact it is a resort and they would need this unit back for business booking during their season to regular returning customers. I reach out to Fairstone to assist me with this issue only to be Tricked into a credit check and then told I cannot obtain a loan and we don't finance vehicles. Now how is it that Fairstone, whom hold my loan, have taken payments for a year now, can not find me on the system why would a girl whom works for Fairstone Kamloops B.C. run a report then inform me, (proudly I might ad) that she can't do nothing for me, and can't even find me in the computer but yet gave me a bogus account number. I contact Fairstones SET team, again told can't find my account? I check my paperwork closer, no account number? Since this has occurred my fears have come true, I have been laid off from work, I must be out of my rental by May1st and now I have nowhere to stay with a loan for a total piece of junk. Did I mention the fact that since dealing with ***, Fairstone, and *** that my credit has dropped over 70 points due to these people and their tactics. They should be ashamed of themselves and should have their licenses revoked and or fined for these shady tactics . I can go on with more but why bother they have lied to me, destroyed my credit, marked up the vehicle price $4000.00 than the quoted price. Not one of these companies have assisted me in any way. *** in Miasion B.C, even knowing I was interested in a trailer they had in stock, ,(they actually have 2) explained everything again and the seriousness of this transaction due to my predicament due to covid 19, they run my credit 3 times, but never for a Trailer, then tell me to call back in a month or two and try again. Now with that said, I would be paid at work, or have another option of work where i need a trailer, and would be paid for its use, as well as being paid for my job. - I make 2xs as much per pay now as I did when purchasing the vehicle a year ago - Inforned them I had a co signer as well that could help, paid a year - explained the extra income as well as a good paying job - instead I get over 70 points off my credit score, homeless, and no help

Read full review of FairstoneInsurance on personal loan
I applied for and received a personal loan in September of 2022. As soon as the loan entered my account I paid it off in full using on line payment, That loan was less than 24 hours in my account.
In Jan of 2023 Fairstone took out of my account 311.00$. I called, verified it was an error that the system was charging me for loan repayment. I spoke with a male at the Kemptville, Ont location. Then in February another payment came out. I called again and this time I spoke with a female. She stated she would stop the payments and look into why they were being taken out for a non existing loan.
Then last month I received an email from Fairstone stating I was overdue for a loan payment. I responded by email stating I did not have a loan, explained all of the above, and mentioned pointedly I was already out of 622$ that technically Fairstone owed me.
Erin replied to the email stating that for some reason the system did not cancel the loan insurance when the loan was paid off and this is what the payments have been going to. She sent me a form to sign to cancel the Insurance. No mention of paying back the 622$.
I was just at the bank and was told that Fairstone is showing on my financial record as having a loan in standing and being behind 1000$ in payments.
This is infuriating and completely unacceptable. I want this issue resolved completely or I will seek legal action.
Desired outcome: I want the active loan and payments in arrears taken off of my financial record and I would like to be paid back the 622$ taken from my account.
FAIRSTONE FINANCE HAS PUT SOMEONE ELSES CREDIT ACCOUNT TO MY CREDIT BUREAU WHICH HAS DAMAGED MY CREDIT BUREAU AND HAS STOPPED ME FROM MOVING
FAIRSTONE FINANCE HAS PUT SOMEONE ELSES CREDIT ACCOUNT TO MY CREDIT BUREAU WHICH HAS DAMAGED MY CREDIT BUREAU AND HAS STOPPED ME FROM MOVING FOWARD WITH A MORTGAGE, AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO CALL THEM AND A VISIT TO A LOCAL BRANCH HERE THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT OR DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.
I paid for the invoice. On February 26th, I made a payment online to Fairstone from my bank account, but as of today, it still has not been posted. I called on March 25th and spoke to a customer service representative who told me he sent a message. On April 6th, I called again and was informed by another representative that no message had been received. This payment was for $1,677.07. The bill is now due, and Fairstone claims never to have received the money. I have called Fairstone numerous times. On two occasions, I was advised to go through my bank, which I did, but they reported that Fairstone is not responding. Another time, I spoke to a different representative who said she would check into the issue and call me back, but that did not happen. On April 25th, I called once more and requested to speak to a manager, but was told none were available. Could someone from your Operations center please track this payment and help me resolve this issue? This was posted online on February 25th to account number 0039627. I made the payment for my husband. This bill is coming due soon, and I do not want to incur the interest they claim is 29.99% since I did pay ahead of time to avoid this charge.
I paid off my loan with Fairstone financial yet they continue to bill me for interest. This is not acceptable and im pretty sure its illegal

I have been calling since last August to remove myself from Fairstone's marketing list
I have been calling since last August to remove myself from Fairstone's marketing list. I have had many conversations with their agents and managers who verbally confirmed with me that I was had been successfully removed. Then a week later I receive another promotional offer in the mail which leads me to have to call them yet again to be removed. Clearly they are lying to me and lacking the due-diligence to actually remove me. *** I need this to stop now.

My husband and I decided to consolidate our debt and one of them was with Fairstone. Our notary had sent out the cheques on February 28th. We had a payment go through in March as they said they did not receive the cheque yet. In April I had a bounce in my account as Fairstone tried taking their payment but in my head the payment was already passed. I called Fairstone in Gatineau to ask them if they received it they said no. So then I called my notary and asked them to verify if the cheque had passed they said no. So we decided the safest thing to do is cancel the cheque. I had a lady call me the next day and told me that she had received the cheque and that it would be cashed today. I told her that it was the old cheque and not to cash it as we didn't know where it had went. No one could find it. Mid April I received another call saying we still didn't receive your cheque or payment and this will affect your credit bureau and basically that I need to get my [censored] together. The lady was beyond rude. I said I have no idea call my notary so she did. She was beyond rude with them. To the point where they called me and they said they were going to file a complaint to her supervisor. We are now May 3rd and my payment for Fairstone bounced again. They received the cheque on April 6th and still nothing is settled. It is beyond ridiculous. When I mentioned this to them they said that they would look into it and never got back to me that was two weeks ago. This is 2 NSF fees I have payed because they are totally disorganized. I have never in my life seen something so disorganized. Also, when I call the head office they told me that the company that had my file was in Gatineau and later I had a call from Mont Laurier saying they had my file.
Unsolicited mail
Unsolicited mail. I have contacted Fairstone Financial verbally and in writing requesting to be removed from their mailing list. Advertisement for a financial loan application is continuously mailed to my husband. I have contacted *** and they have advised since the letter has the homeowners name it cannot not be delivered. We have never secured any product with Fairstone or contacted them to inquire into their services.
On January 21, 2022, your branch made an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account in the amount of $150.52 after receiving full payment of the outstanding debt on January 13, 2022. The excess in funds had caused me to receive an NSF paid fee and my card declined while buying groceries for my children. This business has not tried to resolve the issue.
In 2019, I got a loan from fairstone for a computer buy in Red Deer, Alberta
In September, I received a small purchase loan from fairstone to buy a computer in Red Deer, Alberta. The loan term was 9 months. After making several payments, I decided to settle the remaining balance in full. I called fairstone to confirm the exact amount due. They informed me of the balance, which I paid within a week. However, fairstone now claims that the amount was not the full balance and wants to charge me additional interest. This is unfair and potentially fraudulent. I am aware that they record calls and I am requesting the audio from the call where I was told my balance to prove my case.

My wife has a hold on both of her credit bureaus due to identity theft at the end of 2019. Fairstone ignored these notes on the credit bureau and issued credit to a fraudulent party in April. We have been fighting with them and working with the credit bureaus to remove this fraudulent loan since then. We have completed all paperwork required and provided proof of identity to Fairstone as per their process. Due to Fairstone refusing to communicate, the credit bureau closed the file and marked it as fraudulent. However, during the investigation, Fairstone has maintained that this is a legitimate loan despite it being an active fraud investigation between both boards and also in theory Fairstone. It has now been 5 months since this was initially opened and there has been no progress. Fairstone was contacted about this file on the following dates: April 23, April 29, June 24 (four times), June 26, June 30, July 2, July 6 (twice), July 31, and August 6.

Hi, I got a secure loan in September with a former lender, now known as Fairstone
Hi, I got a secure loan in September with a former lender, now known as Fairstone. In 2019, I included that loan in a consumer proposal, along with another credit card debt. Since then, they've removed my online account access. I can't get any information besides a verbal amount, which is confusing. They claim I owe about $200 more than a year ago, despite consistent online payments. I believe I'm entitled to loan information, but I receive no statements or updates. It feels like they're pocketing my bi-monthly payments. Moreover, this loan isn't on my credit report anymore. I want them to provide my account details and explain the payment allocation.

My loan was being paid for by insurance, however Fairstone did not update my address to *** as I requested and have not, to date, sent me any forms. My physical address is in Gypsumville, Manitoba, about 3 hours away from my mailing address. Despite telling fairstone I am still on disability several times they made zero effort to send me the forms required to continue on my disability insurance. They had many opportunities to email the form to me, however instead they kept asking me to call them. I tried contacting them by chat and email several times and they continued to insist I have to call them. I have very bad reception where I live, and no one there seems to want to help me. It is as if they do not want me to have access to the disability insurance. I am positive my doctor would have no issue filling out the forms for them, if they would just send me the forms!

I paid the invoice on Feb 26th but Fairstone hasn't posted it yet
I paid the invoice on Feb 26th, making a payment online to Fairstone from my account. As of today, it still is not posted. I called on March 25th and spoke to a representative who said he sent a message. On April 6th, I called again and was informed no message was received. The payment amount was $1677.07, and the bill is now due. Fairstone claims never to have received the money. I have called Fairstone numerous times. Twice I was advised to contact my bank, which I did, but they reported Fairstone has not replied. Another call was made, and a representative promised to check and call back but never did. On April 25th, I requested to speak to a manager but was told none were available. I am asking someone from your Operations center to please track this payment and help me resolve the issue. The payment was posted online on Feb 25th to account number 0039627 for my husband. The bill is due soon, and I wish to avoid the high-interest charge of 29.99%, as I paid ahead of time.
Fairstone stole $767 from my loan
Fairstone stole $767 from my loan. Then when I called them out on it they started playing games with me. They've also lied about my loan terms while using high pressure tactics and deceptive sales practices. My current loan terms are not what I was told they would be. Now ***, the person from Fairstone that told me she's the only one to handle this case, is now refusing to answer her phone or return calls. I've had to acquire information on my own that *** lied about or was unable to produce. I feel I've done more to get things done regarding my case than she has. I've emailed the *** responded with a written letter. At this time no one that is able to do anything from Fairstone is communicating with me. *** has failed to do her job and that is directly having negative impacts on my credit score. Fairstone is dishonest and will outright *** customers. *** has two investigative journalism pieces on how unethical lenders such as Fairstone operate to rip off and *** customers. Fairstone should be investigated by all regulatory bodies for illegal practices and fraud.

ComplaintsBoard.com I am filing a complaint against Fairstone Financial Inc
complaintsboard.com I am filing a complaint against Fairstone Financial Inc. I was financed through Fairstone when I bought a bedroom set from ***. The agreement stated that I had a year to pay the balance with no interest. I paid the balance in full on December 1st. My due date for payment was December 6th. I got a phone call from the Fairstone office in Airdrie prior to the due date reminding me that my payment was coming due. They asked if I would like to continue with refinancing, but I said I would pay the balance in full with cash at their office. When I went to the office to pay with cash, they refused a cash payment stating that they did not keep cash on the premises. They instructed me that they could only take a certified cheque, money order or e-transfer. My husband paid the full balance of the bill directly through the bank. It was stamped on Decemeber 1st in the full amount I owed. I never received an invoice stating that I had paid in full. In January I was sent a notice in the mail stating that I owed $*** in new charges. The company claimed that I owed a $21 dollar annual fee that they tacked on and I never received an invoice for this. They also claimed that the interest of $*** was for the whole amount of my bill, even though it had been paid in full. My bill states: On your Same AS Cash (SAC) plan, interest charges accrue during the SAC period, but will be waived if the original SAC plan amount financed is paid in full on or before the SAC Plan Expiration Date. When I called the Fairstone office in Montreal I was informed that I owed a $21 dollar annual fee and $*** in interest. After discussing that this charge did not make sense and I did not understand how I was being penalized for paying my bill on time, the representative on the phone said if I paid $299 dollars, they would clear my bill in full. The person on the phone stated that they would not give me a new statement, or email me this offer, nor would they tell me the full name or extension of the person I was talking to. This conversation left me feeling very uneasy, so I discussed this with my husband and we decided to go to the Fairstone office located in our community. I had a meeting with the office representative *** Lobo. After he reviewed my invoice and payment, he agreed that this business practice was unfair. His computer invoice of our bill even showed that the full amount of our bill said paid in full on his company website. He called the office in Montreal and talked to a representative on my behalf. He explained that this was not a fair way to treat a client who had paid the full amount on time. *** apologized that the office did not take our cash when we wanted to pay and pointed out that if they had taken the cash we would know about the extra $21 dollar charge and we could have paid it then. Therefore, he said it was a misunderstanding on their part and he felt they should waive the full interest charges. He then said he would accept a $21 dollar payment from me to resolve this issue. The representative that *** talked to, said they would discuss this with a supervisor and contact him in a few days. On Monday, January 11 *** contacted me and told me the representative from Montreal said they would accept a payment of $299 to resolve this issue. I do not agree with paying an extra interest amount on a balance that I paid in full and because I honored my contract. I feel this is an unfair business practice. Upon hearing this news and trying to reason with the representatives of this company, I have decided to provide the Complaintsboard.com with the details of my complaint. Thank you for your consideration

It is so hard to phone them. No body is answering the phone with the number they gave you. Also they charge me for more than 72% of interest for the unpaid outstanding balance as I was 2 days late. They did not follow their fine print.
This bottom-feeding cave slime of a "business" sends unsolicited mail to your house with PRE-MADE fake cards you can use to sign up for their services. They do this EVERY MONTH unless you: fax them (who even uses fax anymore? What is this, ***?) OR call the 888 number. Spoiler alert: The 888 number automatically disconnects you after pressing 1 or 2 a few times to get service in English, as the wonderful automated message tells you.I hope everyone who works for, or is associated with Fairstone, loses everything they have and never sees another happy day in their life again.
