Garage door openers - service request #[protected]
Applied online for a service request for garage door openers.
Paid the 85.00 fee
FAHW Subcontractor came out said the doors are to big for their compony to replace the openers. I have 2 16' x 10' doors. I called back in and they scheduled another subcontractor to come out. Same outcome they cannot get a opener for a 10' door.
FAHW sent an offer to contact a door opener of my choice to come out and fix if they can be fixed or give me a written estimate which they did.
This is the 3rd time a contractor had to come out. This quote was for 1764.00 labor and materials.
FAHW sent an email to compare Home Depot online pricing to the subcontractors pricing.
Once I replied to the email with my displeasure, I received and email back stating they would only pay 1300.00 of the 1764.00 and that I had to get the work done and pay for it then get reimbursed from FAHW.
FAHW should be able to have one of their subs complete the work at their budget and they should have to pay their sub. This is why I purchased a home warranty.
Ace’s garage door
10/24/22 we filed A claim for A broken garage opener
A rep from Aces came out and said it needs A new mother board and it will take 30 days to get
Aces scheduled an appointment to come to install after waiting 4 hours, no show, no call
We contacted Aces 4 separate times and told they would check into it and call back, no return calls
Finally reached Aces and scheduled an appointment to install part on 12/12. No show, no call
First American Rafael says he has escalated to the higher ups to handle
1/18 Aces said it has been done and is closed out.
It has most been fixed!’ Said we had to contact first American to reopen
1/17 received A letter from First American dated 1/2 saying they need another 30 days to work on this matter
Desired outcome: Want it fixed and stop being ping ponged between home warranty and Aces.
Plumbing
* On 12/2/2022 I noticed water collecting in water pan for our gas hot water heater, contacted our home warranty company through website, First American Home Warranty, to report and schedule plumber for service, paid $85.00 upfront service fee. Home warranty scheduled Rescue Your Air & Drain plumbing on 12/7/2022 between 8am-12pm.
* 12/7/2022, my oldest son was home for service call, Plumber arrived around 12pm, confirmed that water was leaking from bottom of water heater and that the water heater would need to be replaced, further details to come from Home Warranty Company.
* On 12/8/2022, received notification from Home Warranty Company confirming findings from Plumber, they also confirmed that there was going to be a $895.00 out of pocket expense for modifications to replace hot water heater. Had to agree before new water heater was ordered. I agreed, had asked both the home warranty and plumbing company several times for a cost break down of the modifications needed, was told by the Plumbing company that ventilation and water piping needed replacing, nothing in writing?
* On 12/9/2022, Home Warranty company ordered new gas water heater from Home Depot and scheduled Rescue Your Air & Drain for install/replacement on 12/14/2022 between 8am-12pm.
* 12/14/2022, Wife was home for install, two Plumbers showed up around 10:30am to install/replace new water heater, one of them smelled of weed. Install /replacement was completed around 12pm, check was cut for $895.00, invoice below. When coming home from work and investigating the install/replacement, there was no modifications done to the ventilation or water pipes. All the same components were used, the only thing replaced was gas water heater, confused on what the $895.00 was for?
* 12/21/2022, noticed water leaking from the top of the water heater on the threads where the copper pipe meets the nipples on water heater.
* 12/22/2022, wife called Rescue Your Air & Drain around 8:30am about the leak, was told that we needed to call the home warranty company to schedule them to come back and service. Didn't understand why we needed to go through the home warranty when they did the install. We were also leaving to go out of town for the Holidays that afternoon and needed it to be fixed that day. After going back and forth with the plumbing company they could not help, no exceptions, we had to go through our home warranty company. We were also told by the plumbing company that if we were to go through the home warranty company, they did not have any plumbers available that day to fix leak. Due to the urgency, we ended up reaching out to another plumbing company, Mister Greenway. They came out around 10:30am to service, the plumber noticed right away that the install was done incorrectly, the wrong thread sealer was used on the hot and cold nipples where the copper pipes attached, causing the leak. The plumber also mentioned that the leak would have led to bigger issues if not corrected right away. The total cost to correct was $434.95, $59.95 for service fee and $375.00 parts and labor, invoice below. The plumber had replaced copper piping and shut off valve on the hot and cold sides, pictured below, he also had to replace the hot and cold nipples on the water heater itself, because the previous plumbing company put them on so tight that they broke when trying to remove.
Needless to say the experience with First American Home Warranty and Rescue Your Air & Drain was totally unacceptable. Paying $980.00, $85.00 service fee and $895.00 modifications, out of pocket to install/replace a gas water heater when the home warranty covers up to $1,500.00 with additional first class coverage of $250.00 and no modifications were done to the ventilation or copper water pipes. Then the install was done incorrectly, causing leaks and the plumbing company having no sense of urgency to make it right. Then having to reach out to another plumbing company to fix the issue and paying another $434.95 out of pocket for modifications to fix the leak due to incorrect install/replacement. After looking at the cost of a new gas hot water heater from Home Depot, which is around $800.00 and having home warranty coverage up to $1500.00, I shouldn't have had to pay out of pocket for anything, the math doesn't add up, feel scammed. I've had water heaters replaced in the past through home warranties and never had to pay for out of pocket expenses. I did provide a customer survey through our home warranty company on 12/14/2022 based on the experience and cost, but have not received any feedback.
On an upside, Mister Greenway was able to come out base on our urgency and fix correctly, what customer service should be, definitely worth paying $434.95 to make it right, A+ rating.
Desired outcome: If possible, would like to see a refund of $895.00 from Rescue Your Air & Drain.

Appliance home warranty
I have been waiting since June of 2022 for repairs to my A/C. First American Home Warranty has sent repairmen out and ordered a coil and condenser. I have been told contractor never picked up the parts, then he did and would call me for appointment time. This has been going on since June. I am 77 years old and suffered through 116 degree heat this summer. I am paying them for the premium service plan!
Desired outcome: Complete the work.
Delayed Service from a contractor but forced to continue to use them
I summited a work order for a leak under the kitchen sink Dec 2 2022,
The contractor has yet to attempt to service me or make an appointment.
I have called FAH 3 time about the issue and each time they have put the confidence in the contractor not the PAYING customer. And even disconnected from the call because I was asking for another contractor.
They have proven to me it’s time for me to make a change.
I recommend something with improved customer value and service.
Thanks for abusing a customers trust
John Williams
I got a bill even though they did not fix the issue
Hi,
Customer service is really bad, you have to wait on the call for hours with no option to call back and fix the issues, the only way to reach support is call the billing department and ask them to fix the issue. You can't file a complaint on the support sure site or request anything on the support site. Without fixing the issue they close the case and ask to pay the bill.
Desired outcome: I would like first American to fix the issue and then I can pay the service fee
Re-imbursements
Complaint is about failure to honor contract, contract verbiage, difficulty in responding to correspendence. I had a clog in my main line of my home. First American could not get a response back from a contractor to clear my main sewer line. Contracts say re imbursements will given when needed if an emergency arises. Clogged main lines your whole house shuts down and you cannot use any water or bathroom. I found a plumbing company to come out and unclog my line. The first attempt by using a snake did not work, 2 days later they came back and jetted my line and cleared it out. Per contract verbiage it says they will cover up to 125ft from point of entry to snake or jet a main line. My clog was only 25-30ft. They entry point was inside my home. I also understand I DO NOT have septic coverage and that if my main line was clogged by tree roots, broken or collapsed they will not cover it. My line IS NOT broke, collapsed nor have a tree root in it. It now flows freely. For some reason they keep saying septic, my assumption is so they dont have to cover the fees. I also UNDERSTAND I have no septic coverage. However, the documents submitted clearly state there is NO issue or problems with my septic on the first line. First Am Home Warranty said they will re imbursed me only $89 for diagnostic fees. The $89 was a TRIP charge fee to show up, clearly stated on docs. There were on or about $680 in diagnostic fees to clear out line and see if there was an issue. I AM NOT asking them to pay for anything other these fees which are stated in their contracts. Someone who understand English and can read slowly would see this would be covered and not be denied to me for reimbursement.
I am asking for a phone call from a representative with power to fix this issue as any emails they send you cannot respond too. I am also asking for reimbursement of my fees as I am entitled
Desired outcome: contact by company representative by phone...who can leave me voicemail and I can return the call directly if needed. Refund for fees
Money refunded
This company are nothing but a bunch thieves, called 5 times on the air conditioner never fixed it ,so we opted out for the cash all they paid was $570.00 had the air replaced on our own then we canceled the plan ,just paid the full premium one month ago, they refunded $32.68 out of $786.00 because of the money they where out . Hope we can do something about this company they should not be in business. We also paid a service call every time they sent someone out $85.00 each time ,never fixed would like our money refunded
service claims
I have been trying to get my refrigerator fixed the repair man came 2-3 weeks later fixed the water but had to come back for the ice maker he never fixed it. That company told me to call them back after 24 -48 hours I did but was told they would call me back. It has been weeks with no word. I still have no working water or ice maker. There is water leaking somewhere in the wall to make my carpet wet on the other side of the wall. I called my warranty, and you sent a Plummer at which he totally lied and said there was no leak and no issue as Liz form the company told Alex, but He took pictures with his own phone. I then had to send my own pictures to Alex so he could see what I was talking about. So, I did ask Alex since my carpet is obviously stained then I think it needs to be pulled back to make sure there is no mold. Then the carpet needs cleaned. I clearly think since I have been getting the run around for weeks going on a month that my home Home warranty needs to get this completed ASAP. Before further damage is done. I do pay my premium but not to have to deal with this.
Air conditioner replacement
I've been a paying customer with you for about five years and have never missed a payment because you take it on time every month. I have only filed three claims in those years, one of which is the reason for this letter. My air conditioner went out on August 7th, so I called and requested service. The owner of Pymraid Air-conditioning was prompt and came out the next day to say it couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced. He then said he'd write up the ticket and submit my claim. When I called to get an update on my claim, I was told it had been denied. I asked why, and the phone rep stated flatly, "because it fell." I asked if I could speak with a manager, and he said no, it was final. When I contacted the contractor, he was perplexed because he stated that he had never reported that and that he would call to find out what was going on. He called, and then I got a call from a supervisor saying she was sorry and that there had been a miscommunication with the other rep, that my claim had been approved, and that, from my experience, First American would cover all additional costs except the cost for my brackets, which I agreed to pay for out of pocket, which would be $500.00.
The temperature in my home is averaging 85 to 97 degrees with my two asthmatic children, about whom I have expressed concern to your employee numerous times, and they have proven they don't care. When I called, I was told, "Oh, we haven't ordered anything yet," Things only got worse from there. I had to call every day to ensure that things were moving forward, and as George stated on the call last night, he doesn't understand why this case has been passed around to so many people and hasn't been resolved (Your employee's words). I could honestly write a book about my experience because there is so much more, but to summarize, I STILL HAVE NOT HAD MY AIR Conditioner FIXED AFTER OVER A MONTH. I spoke with the contractor, who informed me he would not install it because you have not paid him for the five previous jobs he has completed. I have also called Dalia Acosta 5 times at ext 6444, leaving messages and all, and she has yet to return any calls or even send an email with an update on my claim. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I need my air conditioner repaired because I have two children and myself who have breathing and bronchial problems, and this is the hottest month of the year, and having one window unit. Ten fans are not helping, especially at night, and I paid for a service and should not have to deal with this from a company that took my money.
Also, as of Monday, August 29th, I was asked to locate my contractor because this company doesn't have a contractor in the area to put my unit in, and I did just that and provided them with all the requested information. Here it is Wednesday, and I still don't have a date of when this will be resolved. I sent another plea for help for my children and dog, who is suffering. This is ridiculous, and I don't know what else to do.
Please provide me an update with detailed information about who and when my air conditioner will be installed.
Desired outcome: I want this company to pay the contractor I had to locate for them so that he can install my air conditioner.
AC compressor repair lasted two months.
My Compressor went out in my AC. The contractor said that my entire system, inside and outside, should be replaced. First American agreed to the new compressor. The contractor replaced the compressor in late June this year. I called the contractor about a week later because the outside unit was making strange noises. The checked everything for leaks and told me everything was fine.
So almost 2 months later, the AC is not working again. Today I had another contractor come out and they say it is the compressor, gone completely out again. They said the new compressor went out because of the problems the entire system has, inside and out. They said a new compressor would probably do the same thing. I asked if First American would replace the entire system? And the told me, “probably not”. They are sending someone out tomorrow to talk to me about purchasing a new system.
This is the second contractor that has recommended replacement of the entire system.
Desired outcome: Replace the system because it can’t be fixed.
Broken dishwasher and scumbag contractor
Sad sketchy company. To save money they hire the bottom feeding contractors who don't know what they are doing. If you like to waste time waiting for people who no show or can't diagnose your problem, this is the company for you. I have struggled through this with several repairs. The latest was a dishwasher that has not worked in over a month. Had a "virtual visit" by the repairman who ordered parts based on my photos - how he could diagnose anything that way is a mystery. I called them twice and they said parts were on their way. They then no-showed to the install appointment - and did not call - but labeled the job as completed with FAHW. When I called the contractor they said the job was done. Funny since they never had been here. Then the story changed, I needed an electrician, not them. The unit has power, they pulled that excuse out of their [censored]. Then they said they would look into it. Infuriated I called FAHW. No remedy there. I said I never wanted to deal with this dishonest company again. I was told my complaint went to the TOP and I would get called in a couple of hours. 2 DAYS later and no call. 4 more phone calls to FAHW, they rescheduled me with the SAME lowlife contractor. Then the story changed - the contractor needed to wait for more parts. They wanted me to wait another couple of weeks for the next install appointment. When I went ballistic they said maybe they would give me a cash credit, they would have to talk to the TOP again and get back to me. I have gotten the run around one too many times, broken promises abound. Clearly there are no ethics to this business. Any company that hires contractors who tell bald faced lies - to them as well as myself - is too scummy for me. I am done. Cancelled today.
Desired outcome: I just want my dishwasher to work. And I would like the fee I paid for the service call that never happened to be refunded or applied to a different contractor who would come out immediately and FIX MY DISHWASHER
Home Warranty not Honored
Q: How do you spell Rip Off? A: FAHW
1) Supposedly, if they can't fix your appliance then they are supposed to replace it. My Washer was making a terrible noise and the tech reported that it could not be fixed. FAHW called me to say they would either pay me out or fix it (after the tech already said it could not be fixed). They offered me $46! Seriously?! So I chose to have it fixed. Except the tech had already closed the work order. So I have to start over again.
2) Last year my jetted bath tub stopped working. They sent an incompetent contractor who literally said, "I don't know how to fix this". He took some pictures and said he would be back. On his way out he requested that I pay him the service fee. Seriously?! FAHW kept asking me to pay the fee after they acknowledged they could not find anybody to fix the bath tub.
3) My fridge went out multiple times for different reasons. Every time I call I need to pay a new service fee. Even after multiple failures, FAHW is refusing to replace the fridge.
Desired outcome: Replace my appliances according to the contract.
Home warranty
I rarely would call a company a 'rip-off', or maybe even elder abuse, but First American Home Warranty has earned that rating!
This has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. We spent countless hours on the phone, usually on hold, trying to resolve 2 issues, neither of which were resolved.
First, our air conditioner wasn’t working, we made a claim, did not hear from the contractor, and after several days spoke to someone about cancelling the policy. They convinced us to wait, and they got a service person out that day. The problem is, the person who came out misdiagnosed the problem with the a/c unit. Because it had taken so long, I had also scheduled another contractor, on my own, to come out. Your contractor said it was a circuit board, and that they had to wait for approval to order it. Meanwhile, the temperatures were exceeding 100 degrees outside. Our contractor did his diagnostics and found that the circuit board was NOT the problem, the parts that were needed he had on his truck, and 2 hours later he had it working.
The second issue is a water leak that is under our concrete slab of our home. We had the home warranty plumber come out, and he basically said that we needed a leak detection service, which he reported back to you. The second plumber finally came out, they did not have the equipment to perform a proper leak detection service. When we called back in, we were told that the allowance for the leak had been spent by having the first two (useless) plumbers come out (or something along those lines.) so the whole process was a total waste of time and did not even start to resolve the problem, which was never even addressed properly.
We paid $517 for this policy, including the upgrade for the A/C. plus the $85 service charge which was not refunded to me. When I cancelled the policy, and asked for a refund of what I had paid, First American Home Warranty refunded only $101, with no explanation of where the rest of my money went.
As a side note, we have had a great business relationship with First American Title, which is why we went with First American Home Warranty. Obviously this was a mistake.
Desired outcome: I would like a refund of the $517 policy cost and the $85 service fee that did not even address the problem.
Double charge service fee in error and then charge you again by Mail
If there is a way I could warn all Americans about this scam I would. I am a retired Veteran and we purchased a new home in May of 2022. It came with a "First American Home Warranty". Wash your mouth out.
We called in two service calls. One for two drain problems, Plumber. One for a condemned wall furnace by the SoCal Gas Company.
When my wife called in and sat on hold for 45 minutes the person on the phone cannot even understand ENGLISH ! ! ! ! He charged her for 3 Service calls at $85 each. we only had TWO service calls.
She called back with her Credit Card Statement and had the EXTRA charge reversed. Guess what, ? They are trying to charge us again ?
BURN YOUR MONEY IN THE BACK YARD AND YOU WILL HAVE MORE ENJOYMENT THAN WORKING WITH THIS PITA COMPANY! THEY STEAL AND CHEAT AND LIE FOR A LIVING !
Desired outcome: We want our account canceled and never her of this again. I have limited years left on earth. I don't want to spend them on HOLD waiting for this FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY to steal money from me.
Wasting people's time - appointments
On 6/27 I notified First American Home Warranty to have my air conditioning worked on as it was not getting cold. Was provided South Placer Heating/Air; called them on 6/28 & scheduled appt for 7/1 between 12=6. They never showed up or called. Called them again on 7/5 & scheduled for 7/6 between 8-12. No show, no call. Called Warranty Company and they called South Placer Heating/Air. They were told South Placer would try and get here that day. No show. No call
On 7/10 I received an email directly from South Placer Heating/Air. They had provided me an appointment time on 7/12 between 8-2. No show. No call. This company should be fined for wasting people's time and money.
Service, repair, customer service, follow through, non service, wrongrful billing
I called for a freezer and microwave repair. I was told that it would cost 85 dollars in total as it would be one call. The girl messed up the dispatch 4 times changing the vendors as she needed one that could do both repairs in the same visit. A Different vendor showed up a day early. Clearly, they didnt get the cancellation. I called and was told to give the check to Sears (the vendor that showed up that shouldn't of), let them repair the freezer, and that the next day the other vendor would come to fix the microwave. This was over 6 months ago. I was told only one check was needed and just tell the other vendor I already paid. I did just that. They are sending me bills for this and they were paid.
I had prior to that, called for a furnace repair in December a couple of days after I moved into this property. We fixed it ourselves the same day and canceled the service. We had to fix it ourselves or go a week and a half with no heat. So we fixed it ourselves as they couldn't come for almost 2 weeks. We were not charged as we never got service. Until almost 6 months later. Now we are getting charged and I have called 3 times and all 3 times they say we owe nothing as they never came out. Yet I got another bill yesterday.
Our outlet outside on the house went out. When it went out so did our pool light. They sent pool repair. They kept us waiting the entire day until 8 at night and never showed. The next day showed up at 6:30 at night for literally one minute. He said you need an electrician. 17 calls and 24 hours of my life on the phone later I am being charged 85 dollars and no electrician ever came out. Later after almost 3 months of calls, I was told they dont repair pool lights. I explained it was the outlet on the house. They were rude and refused to help me. They told me to hire someone to prove it wasnt a pool issue and then they would send someone.
I had to file a new repair and pay a new 85 dollars to get the GFI outlet fixed. as it had nothing to do with the pool - as I explained all 17 times.
Now I am getting bills for all of these incidents every two weeks with threats. I was billed 360.00 by sears and threatened for months by them in addition.
I even have an email from first American stating I owe them nothing from several months ago (I had them email it to me during one of my many long calls) and yet yesterday more bills.
Every call is a minimum 2-hour commitment. It's been almost 7 months and they still have not come to install the oven that was supposed to install early june. They refuse to issue a work order. They tell me every time I call, its in the warehouse and someone will call me.
You cannot file a complaint with them and nobody will help me. This is pure harassment and extortion, and dishonesty.
Desired outcome: I want them to leave me alone. Stop wrongfully billing me, stop wasting my time, and install the oven. I want compensation for all of the time that has been wasted.
New Central Air System
In Oct. 2021 I purchased a new central air system and heating. I payed over $24000.00 . Now 9 months later it stopped working. They are sending a man out to look at it. And want to charge me $75.00 for the service call.
WHY...
Brad Watts

Desired outcome: To not be charged for the repair of a unit less than a year old.
Home warranty - ac service
If there is a minus rating, I would put that for this company. Simply a scam. Our AC was having cooling issues about 10 months back - they sent an incompetent contractor, who was on the site for less than 12 mins and just wanted to run out with the Service Call Fee - he didn’t even try to fix the AC. We called First American again right away and asked them to assign another contractor, which took them a whole week in the sweltering Atlanta heat of 100F. The next contractor put some refrigerant, without diagnosing the issue much. In a few months, the AC now stopped cooling again in the 100F summer heat, with exactly the same issue of line freezing as before. I opened a Service Call for the AC repair again - they first collected the Service Fee, before even assigning a Contractor (Company policy!). The contractor scheduled me out after 10 days for a broken AC, in Atlanta 100F+ heat. Their telephone system makes it impossible to get a person. When I finally did, I wanted them to have a Service Call scheduled asap, the lady on the phone (Lily Ext 3574) continued to rattle out company policies and tell me that I didn’t probably hear what she said. Stay away from this fraudulent company - these bottom feeders are just there to collect premiums and Service Call fees to run their scammy business.
Since their pattern of poor service is persistent, I have decided to file a BBB complaint and, escalate this formally to the FTC, the California State Attorney General and Department of Consumer Affairs. If enough people come forward after reading this review, the California State Attorney General will open an investigation into this fraudulent company. I will also be posting this same review to multiple internet sites - Google, Yelp etc for maximum visibility.
Desired outcome: I would like to have our AC serviced and fixed within the next 24hrs.
Air Conditioning
We have First American Home Warranty and have for a very long time. This company has been reliable and helpful with other claims. I’m hoping we can still feel the same after this horrible experience.
Fast Response Heating and Cooling was the company selected to come fix our AC. We have been without a working air conditioner since the beginning of April. Time-line is below. I’m truly disappointed and feel defeated with how we have been treated by Fast Response and now First American. It’s very uncomfortable in our house and temperatures keep climbing in our area of North Texas. My son is home from college for only two weeks and hasn’t been able to stay with us because we have no ac which breaks my heart, it’s very sad that we are being treated this way. We paid for the out-of-pocket expenses immediately and for a critical service and have been getting nowhere.
To Summarize this experience. My husband reached out to Fast Response and First American for a third time because the ac was still not working, and we were told they could send a tech on the 11th of May or wait for a supervisor on the 12th of May. Because we kept having the same issue with the techs that had come out, we chose to use a senior level tech, hoping this would get solved. I’m disappointed that this wasn’t escalated to a supervisor initially on Fast Responses behalf and or First Americans with a quicker timeframe. Once we did have a supervisor from Fast Response on May 15th, we were told the coils had a restriction and he didn’t have the parts to fix it but would submit the parts required to First American. He also told us not to run the ac for more than 20 minutes at a time because the compressor could fail due to the restriction. We have not run the ac since because we are terrified it could only make our situation worse and prolong it if something happens in that short 20 min. So, at this point we have had no ac going on a month and half. After the tech submitted his report to First American, we were told that the part (valve) is on order but won’t arrive for 5 to 7 business days, they would not offer tracking. My other concern is that the dryers were not replaced when the compressor was installed, I have read that is recommended to avoid restrictions or stuff getting into the line which is probably why we have this issue with a restriction now. The Dryers are not on the list of parts to replace with the valve, only the valve. I fear the problem with the ac will just continue once the valve is replaced.
I spoke to two representatives at First American on May 17 both were very kind and sympathetic to our situation and offered $150.00 to purchase a portable ac unit, unfortunately, that won’t cover that expense in this economy. Possibly fans which would only blow the hot air around. My son would be left without ac in either case. I don’t want to simply take money for something that we cannot use.
Instead, we called Fast Response to see if they could expedite our part and service, but we’re told it could be Friday May 20th but no guarantees. They reminded us that they had 7 days, once again in a very condescending way.
Fast forward to today May 27th which is day 10 and… past the 7 days we have been constantly reminded Fast Response had to have the part. Now the advised us that the part is on backorder and won’t be available until June 2nd. Fast Response’s voice messaging system is often full, and when we do get thru to the representatives, they have been rude and belittling, very dismissive and offer nothing to help expedite the part or an alternative option to fix our issue other than saying they can offer a quote to reinstall a new unit. Or they say, “well there are a lot of people without AC”, some for months and longer than you”. Very shocking to hear an HVAC company, I don’t see that being a sustainable business plan and or a way to keep customers happy.
Fast Response said they could quote me on new AC parts, I did ask for that quote and for the out-of-pocket expenses that wouldn’t be covered. I received that quote the very next day. I spoke to the Gentleman that quoted me who was incredibly nice and helpful. After my phone call I checked the parts that were quoted and those were installed at our house in 2018 and 2021. So those parts should not need to be replaced and if they do maybe they’re still under warranty.
Bottom line is… I understand that there is a shortage in supplies, things are hard to find right now. But I feel that we have been very patient and have tried to be understanding. But we’re at our wits end now. Why has there not been an alternative option offered to us to help other than $150.00 for fans? Possibly a different valve or something, there must be something someone at First American can do. Or pay for us to use a different licensed HVAC company that come sooner. It is about to get incredibly hot in Texas and we cannot keep going thru this nightmare. Our claim has finally been assigned to a Claims Resolution advisor, this only happened this week and today is 4 days from us being almost 2 months without a working ac unit.
I don’t want to get to June 2nd and be told that we must wait another 7 days for a part to arrive or that it is still on backorder.
l truly wish that someone at First American reads this and can do something to help us. It’s getting hotter by the day in Texas. This is truly unfair and saddening that we are being treated this way. I have been a customer for many years. But I’m losing hope in the company.
April 6th Fast Response 1st Appointment. Diagnosed bad compressor. No other parts listed to replace.
April 12th Fast Response sent uncovered expenses. We paid $486.00 out of pocket.
April 29th Fast Response replaced compressor
May 2nd called Fast Response compressor was icing up and tripping the breaker not cooling properly
May 4th Fast Response Came back for service. Said it was an issue with the unit in the attic and sealed it with mastic.
May 9th called Fast Response ac still not working tripping breaker and icing up. Making weird noises. They said they could send a tech Wednesday or we could wait until Thursday the 12th for a senior tech. Also said it could be a faulty breaker.
May 9th electrician installed new breaker. Not the problem.
May 15th Fast Response diagnosed a restriction in coils. Said it would be best to replace the old valve with a piston style. But couldn’t do it that day because he didn’t have the parts and had to get approval. He also did not list any other parts to replace.
Have called Fast Response to check in and they have continued to tell us they have 7 days for the parts to arrive.
May 27th Fast Response called and now we are told the part is on Back Order and will possibly arrive June 2nd Fast Response claims they have booked us an appointment for install if the part arrives. This timeframe may not sound like a long time from today but given this contractors history and being without AC for two months and being told "possibly" June 2nd i have very little faith.
