I am elderly but since joining the bank (I knew the manager locally at the time). I found out 2 weeks ago they had blocked my account, rang up to ask why and got a "know all" woman who said I had a scam. I was horrified as I never give out bank details but was told these scammers could find out - surely that is wrong. I have rung this awful bank many times. Yes I am what they class as "elderly" but not vulnerable as they are trying to make out!
Now when I telephone they put me on hold, leaving me over 30 minutes so I have to hang up. They even rang social services and told them I am not capable of handing money, this is so insulting as I helped run a company for many years and was involved in finance. I am not having these young women being so patronising. Now I cannot get any cash out of the cash machine, despite my pension being paid in every week. I even get phone calls from the supermarkets who deliver my food to say payment declined. I have never been treated like this by anyone and am totally disgusted by the bank. I want to change banks, but if I do not stay till I get satisfaction I will not get any compensation I feel I am due. I don't expect a reasonable reply to this, just some condescending woman calling me "dear" I have no access to my money and not allowed to do my shop on line without them authorising payment. Recommendation: See my comments above and keep away from them if you are older, they seem to think we are all senile!!
