I was in the process of downloading a pdf free book from Download-Geek, when I was asked to fill my email first, then my visa number to verify. Clearly mentioned nothing will be withdrawn.
The instant I submit my visa info, the page switched to gamefoo.net instead of my book download.
What's more astonishing is the fact that the site has nothing to do with books but free movies.
My visa was debited 1$ by gamefoo.net. which is normal procedure but normally, they're supposed to give-it back.
Moreover, I checked and the account I registered is non existent at their website. I checked google, noticed the scam alert. and immediately asked my bank to freeze my cc.
With the new advertising trend on internet, any programmer can hijack a page and scam their clients.
They - gamefoo.net - tried to scam me as well for $1 and then $39.95 but my bank saw this thinking it was a scam and alerted me to the potential fraud. I told them I did not charge anything to them and they investigated it all determining it was a scam and credited my money back to me and sent me a new credit card. In this instant, my bank was on top of the scammers before they were successful.
I think they just did the same tio me, although I don't know where they would of grabbed me at. But right now I want to sue their asess!
