Terrible experience Beware
Order number GBD1955364
Ordered shed 12’ x 8’ 25th of may delivered 1st June missing parts; both doors and the roof missing, one gable end broken, delivery driver on video call at time of delivery and for whole duration of delivery had no interest in me the customer, I suspect this is why he drove away with some of my order still on his truck.
Parts to be delivered couple of weeks later but delivery driver reported that nobody was at address and nowhere safe to leave parts. I have Ring doorbell and my front & rear gardens are enclosed with fences and gates, regards anyone calling at my door Ring recorded nothing other than myself, family members & the postman on that day, so it would be reasonable to say that the delivery driver had not called to attempt delivery at all.
Nearly two weeks later missing parts delivered along with gable to replace damaged one, gable end delivered was for wrong side despite having sent pictures to help identify which side needed replacing.
One week later correct gable delivered.
On starting to build the shed I discovered that I had not been supplied enough rails to finish the panels as had only been sent rails for 8’ x 8’ instead of 12’ x 8’ shed also missing was the gap fill times 2 for rear of shed. As I had started the build I could not wait another two+ weeks for parts to be sent so had to buy four lengths of 27mm x 44mm x 24000 from B & Q.
When doing the roof felt I followed instructions as given; measuring shed then adding 140, shed was 3570 + 140 x 3 which leaves the felt short by 130 on the last strip from a 11m roll I also found that four of the six sills were unusable due to being twisted and bent. I contacted Customer services again on 3rd September and was told over the phone that parts were ordered and would be sent within two days. I then received an email requesting pictures which I provided. 11th September I contacted Customer service again as nothing had arrived to discover that none of the items had been ordered at all. Ordered over phone after a lot of debate and received two weeks later.
As others have reported build quality is very poor gaps between panels, roof supports not thick enough to support 8 foot roof (sags in middle). Customer service poor. Valued as a customer again poor.
As advised on other reviews here, do not buy from this company service & quality is awful.
Date of experience: 25 May 2023
Recommendation: Buy from somewhere else please
Disappointing Experience with Garden Buildings Direct: Late delivery, wrong parts, and poor customer service
My first interaction with Garden Buildings Direct was pretty good, I must say. They sent me a notification at a rather late hour, around 9.30pm, informing me that the delivery was gonna happen the next day. This was a bit of a change from the original date they had previously told me, which was 2 days before. The following morning, I had a long phone call at 9.00am just to confirm the original delivery day.
Well, when the big day finally arrived, I was faced with a bit of a pickle. They only went and delivered the wrong end panel, can you believe it? I mean, my partner spotted the mistake right away as soon as they dropped it off at the kerb. So, we called them up straight away, hoping they would sort out a redelivery for us. But no, they flat out refused! Can you imagine that? It took a whole 5 days for me to finally give in and call them again, because I couldn't for the life of me upload any images of the problem on their website. I tried on my phone, my tablet, and even my laptop, but no luck. Eventually, after a lengthy phone call, they agreed to send out a replacement panel. And guess what? It took a whopping 6 days for it to arrive!
Now, I decided to give them a ring to complain about the ridiculous amount of time it took and the fact that their website was about as useful as a chocolate teapot when it came to resolving complaints. So, two whole weeks later, my builder could finally start working on the shed. I spent my precious Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday assembling the darn thing, only to find out that there was an issue with the glazing. Can you believe my luck? The size on the packet didn't match up at all! So, my partner (who happens to be the one whose name is on the account) gave them a ring to report the problem. And what did they tell him? They asked him to email them a picture of the issue. So, he did just that. But guess what? Another whole week went by and still no sign of those replacement parts!
I had to call them again at the end of the week, and let me tell you, it was quite the argument with their representative. I kept telling them that their website was a complete and utter failure, but they just wouldn't listen. Finally, they sent me an email saying that they were taking action. But seriously, it's been a whole 4 weeks now, and I still have a builder on standby who's gonna have to come back for a third time. And let me tell you, he is NOT a happy camper! And to top it all off, there's still no guarantee that the replacement part will actually arrive. So, folks, let me give you a word of advice: BEWARE before you make a purchase from these guys!
Nightmare Experience: Poor Product, Lack of Social Distancing, and Terrible Customer Service
is severely lacking. From the start, the purchase process seemed smooth, as they were eager to take my money. However, the delivery of the shed was delayed by a whopping two weeks, which I suppose is understandable given the current climate with Covid-19.
The day before the delivery, I received an email emphasizing the importance of social distancing. They insisted that we stay on the property while the shed was dropped off at the kerb side. I had no issue with this request, as I understand the need for safety precautions.
To my surprise, when the shed finally arrived, there were two people in the van. It was clear that they were not from the same household, as one of them was being trained. Unfortunately, they were unable to maintain social distancing in the cab of the vehicle or when unloading the shed. I must clarify that this was not their fault, but rather the fault of the company for not adhering to government guidelines regarding Covid-19.
As if that wasn't enough, when they unloaded the shed, lo and behold, the roof was missing! I immediately contacted the company, and they assured me that they would either deliver the roof the next day (Friday) or the following Tuesday. They promised to send me an email later that day to confirm the details. However, to my dismay, no email ever arrived.
Frustrated, I called them again on Tuesday, only to be informed that they had no materials available to make the roofs for the specific sheds. They estimated a delay of 10 to 14 days. I requested written comments regarding the social distancing concerns I had raised, but I am still awaiting a response.
Finally, on June 2nd, 2020, my roof arrived. It took us quite some time to put the shed together, but when we finally finished, we encountered yet another problem - the doors don't fit properly. I sent them a lengthy email detailing my dissatisfaction, but I am still waiting for a response.
To put it simply, this company has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. The product itself, considering the amount of money I paid, is of a poor standard. Furthermore, their organization and customer service leave much to be desired. I am deeply disappointed and would not recommend Garden Buildings Direct to anyone.
Disappointing Quality and Construction: A Review of Garden Buildings Direct's Shed and Greenhouse
I bought a shed and greenhouse from Garden Buildings Direct because they promised faster delivery times. Let me tell you, I was sorely disappointed with the quality and construction of both items. The shed was a complete mess. The panels were all wonky and the batons were overlapping the edges, making it a real pain to put together. I had to do some serious cutting to make it work. And don't even get me started on the plastic windows. They didn't fit properly because the panels were all wonky. The company's solution was to send me new windows, but that wouldn't have solved the underlying problem. I had to shave down the plastic to make it fit. It was a nightmare trying to join the sides and roof because the panels were so poorly constructed. Honestly, it was a waste of money.
Now let's talk about the greenhouse. Oh boy, where do I even begin? The materials they supplied were flimsy beyond belief. The base had legs, which made it completely unsuitable for hard surfaces. And even if you managed to find a suitable surface, the base itself was too weak to support the sides. It took four people just to hold the vertical parts in place. And let me tell you, the pictorial instructions were a joke. The company clearly had no clue about this product. It felt like they had never even seen one erected before. It was probably just some cheap thing they imported from China and then sold without any knowledge or advice. After a lot of struggle, I finally managed to put it together. But guess what? On the first windy day, the plastic windows blew right out. It was a nightmare trying to get them back in, and it involved a lot of deconstructing. My previous shed lasted a whopping 37 years (with a new floor and two new roofs), but I highly doubt that either the shed or the greenhouse from this company will last more than a year.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against buying anything from Garden Buildings Direct. Their products are of very poor quality, and their customer service is equally terrible. Save yourself the trouble and find a better company to purchase from.
Terrible Customer Service and Poor Quality - Avoid Garden Buildings Direct!
I'm in the military and I needed a shed, so I decided to buy one from Garden Buildings Direct. I spent a whopping ?908 on it, so naturally, I expected top-notch customer service. Imagine my surprise when I received a text at the crack of dawn, 8am, mind you, informing me that my shed would be delivered on the 8th of July. They asked me to call and confirm the delivery, so I spent a good 45 minutes navigating their phone system, only to receive another text saying it would actually be delivered on the 9th. Frustrated, I spent another 45 minutes on the phone, explaining that I had already booked the 8th off and couldn't do the 9th. The person on the other end put me on hold for a whopping 20 minutes, only to come back and tell me that it absolutely had to be the 9th.
Finally, the day of delivery arrived, and what do I find? The shed was delivered in bits and pieces, and the quality was abysmal. Now, my dad happens to be a carpenter, so he knows a thing or two about wood, and he was appalled. I immediately called Garden Buildings Direct to explain that I wanted to return the shed under their 14-day no-fuss return policy. But guess what? They told me I had to pay an additional ?77 for the privilege. Now, hold on a minute! There was no mention of this charge on their website. I mean, come on, I bought the shed online, so I haven't even seen it in person. I should have every right to return it without any extra fees.
When I called to express my frustration, I was greeted with a lackluster "Justin Garden Buildings." I informed them that I wanted to return the shed and explained my reasons - the poor customer service and the shoddy wood quality. But all I got in response was silence. Can you believe it? After a moment of awkward silence, they finally told me that I had to pay ?77. Well, let me tell you, I made it crystal clear that I would not be paying a single penny extra. After all, I've already been out of pocket by ?908, and this is definitely not the kind of service I expected.
To make matters worse, their returns policy conveniently fails to mention this charge. And guess what? There's no way to access their complaints department, they're not even listed on Companies House, and there's no way to complain online or over the phone. Outrageous, right? So, I demanded to speak to a manager, but all they did was add a note to my account. Big whoop!
Now, let me tell you, my job is incredibly stressful, and I'm seriously considering just paying the ?77 to get rid of this absolutely dreadful company and their abysmal customer service. Trust me, folks, for the sake of your own sanity, do not buy from Garden Buildings Direct!
Disappointing Quality: A Review of the BillyOh Expert Tongue and Groove Apex Workshop from Garden Buildings Direct
We bought a BillyOh Expert Tongue and Groove apex workshop from Garden Buildings Direct, thinking it would be the ultimate storage, workshop, and hangout spot for our British family. Boy, were we wrong!
Just like the other honest reviews, the final product turned out to be a prime example of shoddy workmanship. The tongue and groove cladding, which sounded so fancy, ended up being a cruel trick for those seeking a high-quality shed. The parts seemed to have been stored in a damp place, as they arrived warped to the point where you could use them as a spaceship to travel to another planet! The panels were so poorly put together that it was impossible to tell if the problem was with the joist or the cladding. Either way, the walls and flooring had more gaps than our 7-year-old's teeth. The floor, walls, and roof, which should have been sturdy and weather-resistant, relied on pre-constructed panels of good quality. Unfortunately, what we received wouldn't have passed any kind of quality check.
The trouble with a product like this is that you invest so much time and effort into it before realizing what a colossal mistake you've made. By the time you reach that point, there's no turning back, even if you've already built a solid base that perfectly matches the shed's dimensions!
Now, we find ourselves having to invest in exterior builders caulk to fill in the gaps between each panel, and then apply some kind of stripping. We're also reinforcing the frame with 4x2's, because it's clear that the original construction won't hold up. To make matters worse, we'll have to lay a solid plywood floor over the flimsy one that was supplied. And let's not forget about the windows – we'll have to replace them with thicker perspex for better durability. It seems like we'll have to practically build a whole new shed over time, but maybe, just maybe, the doors will be salvageable.
All in all, our experience with Garden Buildings Direct and their BillyOh Expert Tongue and Groove apex workshop has been a major disappointment. We had high hopes for a top-notch shed, but instead, we're left with a headache and a lot of extra work. It's safe to say that we won't be recommending this product to anyone else.
Beware of Garden Buildings Direct: Shoddy Shed Quality and Terrible Customer Service
I bought a BillyOh shed from Garden Buildings Direct about 4 years ago, and let me tell you, it's been a real shocker. Right off the bat, there were missing parts in the delivery, but after waiting for over a week, they finally sent them out. So, we managed to get around that little hiccup.
Now, let's talk about the quality of this shed. It's downright abysmal, especially when it comes to the roof. Take a gander at the pictures, and you'll see what I mean. Instead of using proper OSB wood, they decided to go with flimsy plywood for the roof panels. Can you believe it?
Well, this poor choice of material has caused the roof to bow, which means rainwater doesn't run off properly. And let me tell you, that just makes the whole situation worse. The standing water on the roof, thanks to the bowing, has led to dampness and mold on the inside. And I don't need to tell you that that's not a good sign at all.
So, I reached out to Garden Buildings Direct to report this issue, and let me tell you, their after-sales service is just as terrible as the quality of their sheds. I sent them multiple pictures of the problem, and all they seem to have is a laundry list of excuses or things they need to "investigate" before addressing the issue. It's a real headache, I tell ya.
Here are some of the gems they've come up with:
1. "The shed is less than 2ft from a wall on one side." Now, I'm no expert, but I fail to see how that affects the roof.
2. "The lifespan of the felt is 5 years, so this is just wear and tear." Well, let me tell you, nowhere in the shed's documentation does it say anything about a 5-year lifespan for the felt. And besides, this wouldn't even be an issue if they had used proper OSB panels for the roof instead of flimsy plywood.
3. "How was the shed treated and when?" I told them I treated it with their own product within the past year, but I still can't figure out how that would prevent the roof from bowing. Can you?
It's pretty darn clear that they have no intention of resolving this issue. So, I'm left with two options: either shell out around ?200 to completely replace the roof or cut my losses and get a new shed altogether.
Now, when you consider that I paid around ?650 for this thing 4 years ago, that's just not good value, no matter how you slice it.
My advice to you, dear reader, is to steer clear of this company if you're in the market for a shed or garden office. Their products are shoddy, and their customer service is even worse. Save yourself a boatload of trouble and shop elsewhere for something that'll actually last longer than 4 years. Trust me on this one.
Avoid this company at all costs - terrible customer service and no interest in resolving issues
NEVER, EVER USE THIS COMPANY.
I recently bought the BillyOh Mini Master storage shed, and had so many problems with the order, coupled with a business that has no interest in resolving to the customers satisfaction - There is no chance I would ever buy anything from them again.
The Good
The shed was delivered on time.
The Bad
The shed base we ordered with the product was 14inches too wide, resulting in the shed not fitting on it properly.
There were bits of the roof missing, meaning we couldn't make the shed waterproof whilst we waited for them to send us a replacement shed base.
We were promised a new shed base delivery on a Thursday - didn't come. Then promised for Saturday - didn't come. It was eventually delivered the following Tuesday, meaning we had a shed that wasn't waterproof and was stood on damp ground for 10 days from when we assembled it.
I asked them to send the shed base via courier to get it to me faster. They flat out refused. They will only deliver via their own drivers and WILL NOT send to you any other way, even when at fault.
When the replacement arrived, it wasn't a complete shed base but 6 shorter pieces of wood. Meaning they expected us to take apart the previous shed base that was nailed together, and reassemble using the new bits of wood.
They have a company policy of no refunds, and DO NOT offer compensation or partial refunds when they are at fault.
Refused to let me speak to a manager/director, got told 'they'll just tell you what i am'.
In order to get a full refund the product HAS to be in the original condition, disassembled before the will collect it. How on earth are you supposed to send it back in the same condition it arrived after realising there were parts missing?
Easily spent over 2 hours on the phone with them trying to resolve.
The summarise
We spent ?450 with them and had a horrific experience.
Terrible customer service.
Don't care about resolving issues.
Company policy of no partial refunds is a joke.
I would never, ever use this company again.
If you're considering buying anything from this company - don't.
Nightmare Experience with Company - Strongly Advise Against Purchasing from Them
This company is an absolute mess. I strongly advise against purchasing anything from them.
I forked out a whopping £3k for a summerhouse with a side shed, but the whole experience was a disaster from the get-go. To start with, the correct technical drawings needed for construction were nowhere to be found. The main floor bearers, which are essential for starting the build, were missing. That should have been a clear warning sign right there. Let me tell you what I ordered (Order #GBD***):
- I went for the 19mm Tongue and Groove floor option.
- I chose 28mm walls for the thickness.
- The roof option I selected was the 11mm Tongue and Groove.
- I opted for shelving on both sides.
- For the gutter option, I went with the premium one side.
- I added the BillyOh Deluxe Padlock and Hasp.
- I also included the BillyOh Silicone and Gun Set.
- To make things easier, I got the BillyOh Value Assembly Kit.
- Lastly, I went for the BillyOh Deluxe 50mm Padlock Protector.
The delivery arrived on Tuesday, 4th May.
I started unpacking everything on Sunday, 9th May, ready to begin assembly. That's when the problems started. There were no instructions or technical details included in the delivery. All I had was a PDF download from their website, which referred to these crucial documents. I tried to match up the incomplete picklists with what was delivered, only to discover that the correct floor bearers were missing. These bearers are absolutely necessary to start the build, so I couldn't even begin assembly until they were finally sent on 28th May. I exchanged numerous emails with different people, but they kept sending me the wrong technical documents or different versions of the same ones. It was incredibly frustrating, and it's clear that their customer service has been outsourced, resulting in a decline in the quality of service they provide. It's also evident that their warehouse lacks proper quality control, otherwise, my order wouldn't have had so many errors.
The following two weekends were spent struggling to follow the abysmal instructions. The instructions often referred to the technical document for accurate measurements and spacing, but these documents simply didn't exist. As a reasonably competent DIYer, I managed to make things work, but someone without the right tools or experience would have been completely lost. Finally, after much effort, I managed to get the roof on and moved on to fitting the doors. And guess what? I only received 6 hinges and 2 door handles for a 3-door building!
That's when I also noticed that the gutter kit was broken and warped. On top of that, the padlock protector I paid extra for doesn't even fit the door frame. It's too wide to be screwed in properly, which just goes to show how poorly designed it is.
To make matters worse, the 3ft and 4ft shelves I purchased at an additional cost are completely unsuitable for this building. The instructions indicate that they should be fixed to a purlin framing support, but those supports are only present in the corners of this particular building. The walls are longer than 3ft and 4ft, so the shelves are essentially useless.
The build quality is atrocious, and they are selling items that don't even fit the building. This is highly misleading and I will be reporting it to Trading Standards.
I had to plane one of the doors because it was a whole 10mm wider at the top than at the bottom.
I cannot stress this enough: avoid, avoid, avoid.
Warning: Terrible Quality and Dishonesty - Avoid Kybotech Ltd/Garden Buildings Direct!
DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Ignore all the fake reviews written to try to dilute their bad scores elsewhere. This company, trading under the umbrella of Kybotech Ltd, supplies poor quality wood and in my case, omitted 4 key parts(and several other pieces) that were integral to the building of my shed. They will not pay for the extra wood and labour it cost to supply and fit these parts ourselves.
They are obviously used to customers complaining because there is a generic reply to fit all scenarios. In fact, their standard reply to a bad review on Trust Pilot is that they'can't find your order number' ie implying that the bad review is fake and that the people complaining didn't buy products from them - don't fall for that misdirection, it's as see-through as my shed.
The BillyOh sheds appear to be the very worst of their products, though there's stiff competition. My builders had a lot of extra work to do, not only with buying and fitting pieces Garden Buildings Direct didn't send but trying to repair and level everything off. Nothing lines up. The windows are so thin and nasty, they're one step up from clingfilm, in fact, clingfilm would have least left it watertight.
We are in troubling times and people are supporting businesses in good faith, expecting decent service and goods fit for purpose in order for them to keep trading. But when you have a company that is so inherently dishonest, you lose all faith in people.
I spent ?2,268 so I wasn't looking for a 'udget' shed. But I have wasted my money. I can supply photographs and emails and of course the receipt to back up everything I'm saying.
I read the positive reviews on Google before I purchased, but these are going to be looked into. They are obviously fake.
The message is - do not buy products from Kybotech Ltd or Garden Buildings Direct, you will waste your money, or, in my case, pay out more for goods they didn't supply.
After seeing my reviews(and I urge everyone to leave honest reviews of their experiences everywhere) I was asked to email my phone number with them and they would ring me to ''scuss this further' ie to make them look as if they care.
I emailed my number as requested, but they didn't ring. Margie Fuertes of the Resolutions Team(bet she's kept busy) offered me an insulting ?30 on the proviso that this payment would be
'ull and final settlement to put this matter to a close' - Oh Margie, I've only just begun.
?30 wouldn't cover the cost of the wood we've already bought, the wood we have yet to buy for the door frame, the cladding to cover the numerous knot holes, or the 6 days of extra labour - albeit at a reduced rate.
The wood is poor and dirty and some of it is warped which is odd because we paid extra to have it pressure treated. Time will tell if they did treat it, but I'm now doubtful.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY ELSEWHERE. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Review: Disappointing Quality and Poor Customer Service from Garden Buildings Direct
So, I decided to take the plunge and purchase the Billyoh Winchester log cabin from Garden Buildings Direct. I was drawn to its design and the fact that it was under 2500 mm, which meant no planning permission was needed.
Before making my purchase, I read all the reviews and had some concerns about the quality of the cabins based on what I had read. I spoke to one of the sales representatives about my worries, and he assured me that the negative reviews were from people who didn't know what they were doing. He claimed that their cabins had no problems except for those caused by the customers themselves. As a carpenter, I wasn't too concerned and went ahead with the order.
However, there were a few issues with my order. Firstly, the cabin arrived later than the promised delivery date of May 5th. The roof gables that came with the cabin were the wrong size, and when I opened the various packs, I found them soaked with black mold. The packing lists inside were unreadable. Additionally, the floor and roof, which I paid extra to upgrade to 19mm thickness, turned out to be a cheaper 4" T+G board instead of the 6" stated in the parts list. Furthermore, there were two different batches of floorboards supplied, which varied in width by 1/4". This made it impossible to match the floor, which was in two pieces. It would have been much better if the floorboards were one piece for added strength. Due to the wrong size of the floorboards, I was short over 40 pieces to complete the cabin. I requested these missing parts on May 22nd, and it took them 10 days to send them to me due to a "glitch."
The company recommends that the cabin be fully assembled within one month of purchase, but that's nearly impossible considering the time it takes to receive all the correct parts. Additionally, they didn't send enough roofing felt, and 25% of the 44mm timber side walls were split, twisted, and looked like driftwood. The T+G floor and roof boards had more shakes and knot holes than I have ever seen in timber.
If you do decide to purchase from this company, be aware that the timber they use is of the cheapest quality available, with splits, twists, shakes, and an abundance of knots.
When I tried to speak to a manager to resolve these issues, I was put through to Carlo, who claimed to be a manager but clearly had no idea what he was doing. The other members of the customer service team were also unhelpful and seemed illiterate, only responding to emails with their email template. They just sent me in circles, and it felt like they were monkeys fed peanuts.
The customer service team was useless and showed no interest in resolving my problems. They didn't return my calls as promised, and I spent over 10 hours on the phone trying to rectify all the issues. I sent over 30 emails and was passed from one person to another.
Frustrated with the lack of progress, I decided to contact the CEO of the company directly for a resolution. I found the CEO's contact details online and reached out to them. Surprisingly, I received a delivery date for all the missing parts within four hours. It's a shame that I had to email the CEO to get a response, which only confirms the comments about the uselessness of the customer service team.
To sum up, this has been the worst online shopping experience I've ever had. It's important to note that the CEO of this company used to be part of a family that owned another log cabin company, which was known for its superior quality. It seems like Garden Buildings Direct's policy is to send out subpar products and only send additional parts once the customer complains. If you make the mistake of using this company, be prepared to fill all the knot holes, shakes, and splits with wood-colored filler. You'll also need a sander with plenty of 80 grit sandpaper to smooth out the rough timber and remove scratches and black mold.
Consider yourself warned - you'll regret it if you choose to buy from these clowns. And don't be fooled by the 3-star plus reviews, as most of them are for items other than garden buildings. Take a look at the reviews specifically for Billyoh products.
Garden Buildings Direct Complaints 11
BillyOh Corner Summerhouse
From March when first Ordered until 02/08/2024 I have had nothing but trouble. The firm are rude, unknowledgeable in dealing with anything other than they are right, and nothing you say is listened to I have been swore at and the phone put down I've asked for someone in a higher position but I'm told they can neither give me their name or telephone number...
Read full review of Garden Buildings DirectUnsafe Playhouse Purchase: Broken Promises, Sharp Screws, and Poor Customer Service
I've tried everything with this company regarding the condition and safety of the playhouse I purchased for my grandson. They keep making empty promises that a manager will call me back, but all I get are emails with photos and generic responses from their customer service center located overseas. My grandson actually got hurt by the screws they provided, and you can clearly see in the photos that they are black, sticking out of the wood, and sharp. The screw holes on the slide are bigger than the screws themselves, so when any weight is applied, the slide just falls down. The handrails are split and sharp, and the metal on top is really rough and sharp too. I'm going to report this to trading standards because it's just not right. Whenever people complain on public platforms, their usual response is that they can't find the details of the order. I filled out the review they sent me via email, but they never published it. They even blocked me on Facebook! This company clearly filters their reviews. I strongly advise against buying from them.
Terrible Experience with Garden Buildings Direct: Ruined my Son's Birthday with Shoddy Playhouse!
This company, Garden Buildings Direct, is absolutely terrible! They completely ruined my son's birthday by sending us a shoddy playhouse! I wish I could give them zero stars!
They claim to be willing to send replacement parts, but they don't offer any kind of compensation. I've spoken to at least three different members of their customer service team, and they all admitted that they receive complaints about their gingerbread max house, as well as nearly all of their other playhouses!
If you want a refund, they'll only give it to you if you dismantle the playhouse. Can you believe that? What a joke of a company!
The problems we've had with this company are endless. First of all, there's absolutely no communication after you've placed your order. You have to constantly chase them down just to find out when your order will be delivered. It's incredibly frustrating!
And let me tell you about the quality of their products. The hard plastic on the playhouse split when my 2-year-old son lightly knocked on it. I mean, he didn't even hit it that hard! He's definitely not the Incredible Hulk or anything!
This company is absolutely diabolical. They just want to take your money and send you rubbish! Not only were the parts delivered already split, but they even sent us the wrong parts! And when we reached out for help, they were of no assistance whatsoever.
If you're thinking of ordering a playhouse, please, please, please do not order from Garden Buildings Direct. They completely ruined my son's birthday, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same disappointment.

Garden Buildings Direct: A Nightmare of Shoddy Workmanship and Missing Doors
Oh boy, where do I even begin with this whole Garden Buildings Direct mess? Let me tell you, it's been weeks and I'm still dealing with the aftermath of their shoddy workmanship. I mean, seriously, who needs doors anyway? Apparently, not Garden Buildings Direct, because they conveniently forgot to include them in my order. And that's not all, folks. Nails and screws were also missing, like they just vanished into thin air or something.
But wait, there's more! The build itself had more gaps than my memory after a night out with the lads. And you know what that means? Water leaks galore! I've got more puddles in that thing than a rainy day in London. And to add insult to injury, those cheeky buggers left the nails on full display on the inside. It's not just unsightly, it's downright dangerous. I've already had a close call with a rusty nail, and let me tell you, it's not an experience I'd recommend.
And let's not forget about the wood. Oh, the wood. It needed a good rubdown, if you catch my drift. It was rougher than a hangover on a Monday morning. And don't even get me started on the measurements. They were all over the place, like a drunk bloke trying to find his way home after a night at the pub. I mean, come on, Garden Buildings Direct, get your act together!
Now, let's talk about the doors. After waiting a whopping 10 working days, they finally arrived. But guess what? They were bashed and broken. I couldn't believe my eyes. And to top it all off, they were the wrong ones! I mean, seriously, how hard is it to get a simple order right? It's like they're playing a game of "Let's see how many ways we can mess up this poor bloke's life."
And now, the cherry on top of this disaster sundae. I can't even get hold of anyone from Garden Buildings Direct. It's like they've disappeared into thin air, just like those missing nails and screws. I'm losing the will to live, I tell you. It's a good thing I've got a sense of humor, otherwise, I'd be crying into my pint right about now.
Listen, my fellow humans, do yourselves a favor and don't waste your hard-earned cash on this company. Those photos on their website? Total lies. They're as far from the truth as I am from winning the lottery. And don't even get me started on their fancy words like "quality innovative products" and "tongue and groove boards interlock to form a tight seal." It's all a load of rubbish, my friends. They're masters of misadvertising, and it's downright criminal.
I wish I had gone elsewhere, I really do. But it's too late for me now. I'm stuck with this disaster of a garden building, and I'm taking this further. I've got some photos that could fill an album, and let me tell you, they don't do justice to the damage. This company needs to be held accountable for their misselling and their criminal ways. Don't let them get away with it, my friends. Spread the word and save your fellow humans from this Garden Buildings Direct nightmare.
Garden Buildings Direct: A Nightmare Experience with Flimsy Sheds and Terrible Customer Service
This company, Garden Buildings Direct, should seriously be considered for a shut down by trading standards, I reckon. I recently purchased one of their Billyoh plastic sheds, and let me tell you, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. This shed is as flimsy as a wet noodle, mate.
To make matters worse, we had some major issues with the parts, I tell ya. Two of 'em were the wrong sizes, and to top it off, one of 'em didn't even have pre-drilled holes. Can you believe that? It's like they didn't even bother checkin' before sendin' 'em out.
Now, here's where the real fun begins. We've been goin' back and forth with these blokes for nearly two months, tryin' to sort out the mess they made. They promised to provide replacement parts, but now they're ignorin' our emails like we're talkin' to a brick wall. It's absolutely ridiculous, I tell ya.
We've sent 'em photos, videos, and even the part numbers, just like they asked. But instead of takin' responsibility and fixin' the problem, they keep comin' back with more questions and demandin' more photos. It's like they're playin' a game of hide and seek, but they're the ones hidin' from their responsibilities.
It's crystal clear from the evidence we've provided that the parts don't fit, but they just don't seem to care. I reckon they never had any intention of replacin' those dodgy parts in the first place. Now, we're stuck with a shed that's missin' its metal internal support. Brilliant, ain't it?
Honestly, I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. I wouldn't recommend Garden Buildings Direct to anyone, mate. Their customer service is an absolute nightmare, and I've wasted so much of me precious time dealin' with their constant barrage of questions. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of these jokers. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Disastrous Delivery and Faulty Parts: A Nightmare Experience with a Log Cabin Summerhouse
I paid ?1,500 for a 10 by 10 log cabin summerhouse. It arrived and was dumped at my front door in no particular order. Just individual bits of wood plopped down. There was no way to go through it all and ensure it was all there, literally hundreds of wood dumped at my front door. I offered the delivery driver a hand to take it round the back but he said no - it goes here. The first problem was that the starter slat was for a 12 ft summerhouse not a 10ft. Second was that i had upgraded to 28mm think walls and paid extra, I got two window frames 28mm thick and one 19mm thick. The slats wouldn't fit in this. Next I had one Wall slat missing so couldn't finish building that wall and lastly I had one roof beam broken. My "Summerhouse" now sits outside getting soaked from inside to out with the rain as my "Parts" which I was assured would be here within 3 to 5 days are still being made to order. All in all if I could send this heap of junk back i would. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.
I paid a whopping ?1,500 for a massive 10 by 10 log cabin summerhouse, you know, the kind where you can relax and enjoy the summer vibes. But oh boy, let me tell you, the delivery was a complete disaster! They just dumped all the wooden bits right at my front door, no organization whatsoever. It was like a chaotic mess, with hundreds of pieces scattered all over the place. I mean, how am I supposed to go through all that and make sure everything is there? It's a real head-scratcher, I tell ya.
To make matters worse, when I tried to lend a helping hand to the delivery driver and suggested taking the stuff around the back, he flat out refused! Can you believe it? He insisted on leaving it right there, as if my front door was the perfect spot for a wood dump. Talk about customer service, huh?
Now, let's talk about the actual product. The first issue I encountered was with the starter slat. Turns out, they sent me one for a 12 ft summerhouse instead of a 10 ft one. Like, seriously? How can they mess up such a basic thing? And that's not all, my friends. I had upgraded to 28mm thick walls and paid extra for it, but guess what? They sent me two window frames that were 28mm thick and one measly 19mm thick. Can you imagine the frustration? The slats just wouldn't fit in those flimsy frames, leaving me scratching my head once again.
But wait, there's more! One of the wall slats was missing, so I couldn't even finish building that wall. Can you believe the audacity? And to top it all off, one of the roof beams was broken. So now, my so-called "Summerhouse" is just sitting outside, getting drenched by the rain. It's like a sad, soggy mess. And to add insult to injury, the replacement parts that were promised to arrive within 3 to 5 days are still being made to order. Can you sense my frustration?
Honestly, if I had the chance, I would send this heap of junk right back to where it came from. This whole experience has been a complete nightmare, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. So, my dear friends, take my advice and steer clear of this place. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.
Review: Terrible Experience with Garden Buildings Direct - Don't Waste Your Time!
So, I decided to get a playhouse for my daughter's birthday, right? I was pretty stoked when Garden Buildings Direct said it would arrive a whole week before her big day. But guess what? They sent me another email saying they couldn't deliver it until the day after her birthday. Talk about a bummer, man!
Finally, the day came when the playhouse was supposed to arrive. But when I opened up the package, I couldn't believe my eyes. More than half of the main parts were missing! I mean, seriously? No roof, no door, and not even the entire back part! What a letdown, dude.
Naturally, I called them up to complain. They were all like, "Don't worry, it'll be with you before the end of the week." Well, three weeks went by and still no sign of that playhouse. Can you believe it? I had to call them again, and this time they promised it would definitely arrive on Monday. So, I waited all day, man, but you know what? It never showed up. What a bunch of liars!
I gave them one last chance and made that final call. They had the nerve to tell me that the driver got injured while lifting the parts. Yeah, right! They said it would be delivered the next day, but surprise, surprise, it didn't happen. I was so fed up, dude.
Their excuse this time? The driver apparently quit in the middle of the delivery. Can you believe the audacity of these guys? I've had enough of their nonsense, man. Garden Buildings Direct is a total joke, and I wouldn't recommend ordering anything from them. Save yourself the headache, dude.
Terrible Quality and Unreliable Wood: BillyOh Carmen Log Cabin Summerhouse Review
Bought a BillyOh Carmen Log Cabin Summerhouse from this company. Should've sent it back when it arrived, mate. The wood is rubbish, and the whole structure ain't sturdy at all. Putting the felt on the roof was a proper nightmare, 'cause it's so weak. Only had it up for 3 weeks and the wood is already shrinking and splitting. The floor shrunk so much it curled up, so had to spend more dosh on a floor we could actually walk on. Today, it rained for the first time since we put it up, and guess what? Rain is coming through the grooves 'cause the wood has shrunk so much. The windows are made of some weak wood, and the trims were already bowing before I even put 'em on. The plastic they provided for the windows is so thin, it's bending like a noodle. Called 'em up, and they said they could replace the damaged wood, but honestly, the whole thing needs replacing. A cheap garden shed is better made than this, mate. It's only been 3 weeks, but I'm gonna seek outside help to get my money back. It's all set up and treated, but there are so many faults, especially the rubbish wood quality. They shouldn't be allowed to sell this product, it's not fit for purpose. £2245 is a lot of money, especially when you work your arse off for it. Don't waste your cash on this log cabin, mate. Read the other reviews, unlike me, 'cause they all say the same thing - poor quality and rubbish wood.
Beware of Garden Buildings Direct: Faulty Playhouse and Dishonest Tactics
I purchased a Billy-Oh stilted playhouse from Garden Buildings Direct about 9 months ago when we moved to a new house. Everything seemed fine during the summer months, but when the children went inside it last month (February 2019), we were shocked to find that the roof was covered in mould. Not only that, but the mould had also spread to the middle strut on the back wall, and the floor was completely soaked. We immediately contacted GBD to complain about this issue.
To our surprise, their response was rather dismissive. They simply stated that this is just one of those things that can happen and suggested that we wipe it down with a soapy cloth. Now, I don't know about you, but how on earth is a soapy cloth going to solve the problem of a completely saturated floor? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Furthermore, they mentioned that we could have upgraded the floor and roof, but we consciously decided against it. Why, you may ask? Well, it's because their website clearly states that their products are 'pressure treated' to supposedly prevent these kinds of issues. Unfortunately, it seems that their claims are far from the truth. We've made numerous attempts to get this matter resolved, as we firmly believe that spending £500 on a playhouse is not a small investment.
However, instead of taking responsibility for their faulty product, GBD has now shifted the blame onto us. They have audaciously claimed that it's our fault for not treating the wood as soon as we received it. According to them, the treatment they use only lasts for a measly 4-6 weeks. Now, let me tell you, nowhere on their website or in any of the documentation we received was there any mention of this requirement. It's as if they conveniently forgot to inform us about it. It's truly frustrating to deal with a company that resorts to such dishonest tactics and refuses to assist their customers once they have their money in hand.
In light of this experience, I strongly advise people to look elsewhere for their garden building needs. Don't be fooled into thinking that you're getting a quality product for your hard-earned money from these individuals. Unless you're willing to shell out extra cash to 'upgrade' every aspect of what they offer and come up with your own ways to 'treat' your playhouse, I suggest you steer clear. Who knows, maybe next they'll have the audacity to claim that their playhouses aren't even designed for children!
Review: Terrible Experience with Garden Buildings Direct - Avoid at All Costs!
I ordered the Billyoh Tessa Summerhouse Cabin from Garden Buildings Direct back in April, and they estimated that it would be delivered within 7 weeks. However, I had to wait a whopping 14 weeks before the summerhouse finally arrived. Let me tell you, this so-called summerhouse is nothing more than a glorified Wendy house. I mean, seriously, the big bad wolf could probably blow it down without breaking a sweat!
Now, here's the real kicker. I shelled out over 4 grand for this thing, so naturally, I expected a product of decent quality. Boy, was I wrong! The old garage that I had to tear down to make space for this summerhouse was actually in better condition and of higher quality. Can you believe it?
To make matters worse, when I checked the terms and conditions for returns, I found a telephone number listed under the returns section. It claimed that returns could be arranged between 8am and 10pm. Well, guess what? That's a load of baloney! The telephone number turned out to be a dead line. The only way to contact this company is through their sales telephone number. Surprise, surprise!
And let me tell you about the customer service. When I finally managed to speak to a call handler, they treated me like dirt. They accused me of lying and had the audacity to say, "I don't know what you're worrying about. You have 14 days to return it. Call back tomorrow." Can you believe the nerve?
It took me five phone calls and four emails just to get someone to arrange the return of the summerhouse. And guess what? They had the gall to inform me that I would be charged triple the delivery cost to have the pile of wood kindling removed and refunded. Oh, what a joy!
So, let me give you some advice. Stay far away from Garden Buildings Direct. Find another company to purchase your product from. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Terrible Quality and Poor Customer Service - Stay Away from This Company!
I had to give this company a measly 1 star, and honestly, I wish I could give them even less. The delivery was on time, so I'll give them credit for that, but when it comes to quality, I can't believe how they can sell such rubbish. I hired a contractor to build the shed, and after spending some time on it, we all realized that there were so many issues with the parts. I mean, seriously, almost all the panels had holes in them. Every single panel had boards with holes or massive knots that would pop out with just a light touch of a finger. Some panels even had broken boards or support beams. It was a disaster.
The truss didn't fit at all, so I had no choice but to ask the contractor to stop halfway and take it apart. I contacted customer care and they told me to list down all the issues and send them pictures of the faulty parts. They had the audacity to tell me that since wood is a natural material, it's okay to have knots and broken boards, and that it doesn't affect the structural integrity. What kind of logic is that? Who in their right mind would want to store their belongings in a shed that has so many holes in it? It's absolutely ridiculous.
They had the nerve to send me a guide that described the "acceptable limitations and characteristics of wood." Even in their own guide, it clearly states that any holes larger than a 5 pence coin are not acceptable. I told them to take this piece of junk back, and I was even willing to pay for the return charges or get a replacement with good quality stuff. But no, they refused to take it back or replace the faulty parts. It's a complete rip-off.
I strongly advise you to stay away from this company. I wasted a whopping £950 on this shed, not to mention the £200 I paid the contractor. It's a total scam.
