Georgia Department Of Labor Unemployment claim # 7063080

Good Afternoon,

I have been out of work since 01/20/2021 due to continued and negligent exposure to covid at the hospital I worked at and now due to the unexplained delays in processing claims in Georgia, I am now homeless. I have went without my life sustaining medication for over 6 weeks and barely have food to eat. I can barely write this letter because I can barely see with no eye glasses because I cannot afford them. Obviously I am in a very dark place along with millions of Georgians.

I had to basically flee back to Pennsylvania for what little help I can get from friends until this catastrophe is over. There are no jobs here as I am seeing that this part of the country is taking this pandemic much more seriously. I have heard rumor that the eligibility determinations are being purposely delayed due to the commissioner feeling there are jobs hiring. If that is truly the case SHAME ON YOU. Somedays I dont know where my next meal is coming from. There is a pandemic going on and I have had friends who have experienced covid and the everlasting effects.
ly

I am a healthcare worker that worked mostly through the pandemic until it was obvious that the management I worked for was not concerned with our repeated exposure.

My first claim date is dated from 02/09/2021. (Confirmation # 7063080) It was supposedly assigned to the "Interstate Claims Unit". As a healthcare worker I have worked in different states for my job- LET IT BE NOTED THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO WORK SINCE January 20th, 2021. I filed my original claim on Jan 29th and was referred to Georgia by Pennsylvania DOL (Another delay which I will get to and fully apply for an appeal to get my back pay. For now, my main concern is MY IMMEDIATE NEEDS AND BEING ABLE TO EAT AND SEE. I cannot believe my quality of life has come to such a demise. I feel the GDOL is to blame.

I have sent numerous emails and called repeatedly. Obviously I am sure you must know that NO ONE returns emails or calls. I have gotten through to the department 2 times this whole time. I was lastly told that I was on the "bottom", whatever that means. The representative told me that 2 months is such little time to wait. This has created an even bigger alarm to me. Are you telling me I will have to wait a year like this? Do you want me, a healthcare worker who risked themselves every day during the start of the pandemic to continue to beg and bum and be homeless when we know there is funding provided and you want to delay processing claims?

I might also add as I sit here in complete degradation, how offensive I find it that when you do call in and are put on hold for 1 hour and 30 minutes, only to be disconnected, that you must listen to fraud scare tactics the entire hold period. We are only calling to get what is ours. What we have paid for our entire lives for needs such as a time like this. A message like this leads me to believe we will find a fully staffed fraud department and no one left to process claims.

I have NEVER had unemployment in my whole life.

I am writing this to respectfully ask SOMEONE, ANYONE to process my claim and release my funds as soon as possible. I must hear from SOMEONE soon. I will not stop here. As high as I must go, I will continue and I will publicize my story. Because I cannot find email addresses for the Senators and Governor, I am sending them personal copies of this letter.

Respectfully,

Cecelia A Bruce

Georgia Department Of Labor Pua denial

confirmation #: 472116

Gwinnett county

PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP

Hello, I am filing this complaint in regards to my UI claim which was denied and PUA denied as well December 12th, 2020. Unfortunately, My reasoning for not working was due covid, my 1 year old son tested positive for COVID-19 Attached proof as well. This also spread to my immediate family and I. The temp agency stated they did not cover covid pay. However after several attempts made to contact my recruiter, I was informed by the manager (Emanuela Rendini ) that my recruiter (Kimberly Berman) was no longer employed at the temp agency . I was never contacted about an offer for a assignment, or to continue working after I was cleared. This accusation is 100% false information. I was told the policy is you cannot be assigned to a new assignment if the assignment was ended abruptly. However due to me and my family getting covid, there was no choice.I WAS WRONGFULLY TERMINATED AND YET STILL DENIED.I provided proof of emails in my claim yet still denied which does not make sense. But also my letter stated I'm possibly eligible for a different program. I am asking for help please any update is appreciated

Desired outcome: My decision to be looking into, appeal looked into or any update!!!

Georgia Department Of Labor After approving PEUC in November 2020 still no funds have been sent to me

I was approved for PEUC back in November last year and here it is four months later and haven't seen any money released to me. I've emailed several people including Mark Butler but get no responses. I've contacted a lawyer and the lawyer talked to someone at the GDOL and was told I had to file again - which I did but still complete silence from the GDOL why I haven't received any funds for last year's PEUC.

Mark Butler should be FIRED for not doing his job and lying to the press. I'm glad to see the federal government is telling him to do a truthful audit of their department.

Desired outcome: Payment of my PEUC ($4,290) that was approved last year.

Georgia Department Of Labor No answers

I haven't worked since May of last year. My hours started getting cut in April due to covid. I was receiving benefits until November. I have had no money come in for 4 months. Last person said I have to wait for a hearing cause my last job said I took retirement. Retirement got me no money and only means flight benefits. I sent in a letter explaining this and also a copy of a note from my doctor since I am unable to wear a mask for health and psychological reasons.
I need my hearing so I can get the benefits that are owed to me. I can't pay rent, bills, or by food.

Desired outcome: A hearing and unemployment benefits

Georgia Department Of Labor No response to claim and incorrect 1099

Georgia Department of Labor — Response time for support - I was locked out of my account was not able to get back in - Then I had to reapply for UI and was able to get back in - My 1099 for 2020 was wrong and can not get assistance - it shows more paid out than I received in 2020 - Go laid off in 2021 and have reapplied and have not received a determination letter yet - What I don't understand is why the DDS can stay open but UI has to stay closed and they are not reporting to work to help applicants/answer phones -

Desired outcome: A determination letter and to be paid what my 1099 shows they paid me

Georgia Department Of Labor Response time for support

I applied for unemployment benefits way back in August and after finally getting an email stating an examiner was reviewing my claim I got denied because I apparently quit for a lesser paying job. I specifically requested the examiner call me the day they reviewed my claim and they didn't. I filed an appeal almost immediately back in December. It is now March and I still after multiple emails and phone calls have not spoken to a single person who is able to help me.

Desired outcome: I speak with someone from GDOL who is able to assist me and help me receive my much needed benefits.

Georgia Department Of Labor Unemployment insurance

For one year GDOL, Butler and Kemp have denied the delay of processing claims and sending payments to claimants. Excuses are given and blame is pushed to claimants. Butler told Kemp that UI didn't need to increase the 2021 budget when it is obvious they need to increase staff. We demand more from all those involved and you should too. Hire more staff and train the staff you currently have better. You have no one but yourselves to blame especially after the SCUBI attempt.

Desired outcome: Hire more staff, fire Butler, better training

Georgia Department Of Labor Unemployment benefits

Received letter of confirmation in Dec 2020. Signed up for employ georgia and I started submitting my weekly certification on 01/02/2021. I have been submitting it every week since. I still have not received any payments or any communication regarding why I'm not being paid. I have called and left messages and have waited on hold over an hour only to be disconnected. Still no response from gdol and no way to contact them. By far the most incompetent, useless organization I've ever "tried" to deal with. I guess they have more important things to worry about than people not getting benefits during a pandemic. Go figure.

Desired outcome: Get paid my benefits or at least have some let me know why I'm not getting paid.

Georgia Department Of Labor Unemployment division

Hello i am still calling, emailing, and entering my weekly claims for the last year. Not a single response. Does anyone even work for the Atlanta branch anymore? This is a very troubling time for most americans but seeing how Ga Dept of labor has zero response to any attempts for help getting my issue resolved is sad. I've emailed every single person possible. Even got an email back from other offices saying they are unable to assist in UI problems and they would forward the email. Still nothing. I am at the end of my rope why isn't there a single UI employee doing their job!?

Desired outcome: Anyone from UI to respond and help me.

Georgia Department Of Labor Interstate claim

After working (2 Times) in Athens, GA for contract work in 2020, I was laid off both times after job was completed and I returned to my home in Florida. I filed an Interstate claim with GA in 03-Jan 2021. I then get a email from GDOL Employee telling me that I can collect from Florida UI Benefits for 26 weeks but only 14 Weeks from GA. I knew this was false Information because I read the GDOL handbook and I had made the Maximum amount earned to collect GA UI $365 a week for 26 Weeks. A week later (Mid January) I than received an Email from GDOL Claims Investigator claiming I quit a job other than lack of work (This was False Information) Within a day my EMPLOYER RSCS Staffing Manager Sent the GDOL Employee an Email claiming hat I have never been terminated for Cause. All my employment going all the way back to the Summer of 2018 is from RSCS (my only Employer). I was then Cleared to collect GA UI Benefits for 26 weeks max benefits. I called in over a 5 week span to collect my GA UI Benefits Jan-09 to Feb-13. I have not seen a dime. I Have since reported to GDOL that RSCS has Hired me again and I have traveled to Baltimore MD and started working on [protected], for a 3-4 week job. I have saved all these Emails (legal Documents) from GDOL and I can verify that the above statements are true and correct. GDOL Employees will not respond on when they are willing to start paying me my Benefits. I would prefer to be treated fairly. If GDOL does not want to release what I am Entitled by LAW (UI Funds and Information) than GDOL should send me a letter explaining why, so that I can take all this Information (Legal Documents) and let my Florida Officials deal with it.

Desired outcome: By Law Those are my Funds. GDOL owes me 5 weeks of UI Benefits

Georgia Department Of Labor Overpayment unit

While receiving UI benefits for 2020 I received a letter stating I had an overpayment. When I finally spoke with someone I was told it was for 2018 and it carries over. I was laid off from my job in 2018 and was approved for unemployment. I did not receive a severance pay. I only got my last check with unused vacation time. The last benefit payment I received November 10, 2020, they deducted half. I have not received any unemployment for the last 12 weeks and there is no explanation as to why. The overpayment unit does not provide a number, email or any form of being able to reach them on any statements they send. I have called, left messages, emailed the commissioners' office, emailed my assigned location but have not heard from anyone. I recently mailed a copy of proof but have not heard back as of today.

Desired outcome: I want my unemployment benefits plus any amounts that was deducted.

Georgia Department Of Labor Employer

I am just concern with issues that I was having at y job, Dutch House Wrens Ga.
* First thing I was employed at Dutch House and was getting a paper check then when the Pandemic started it closed for two months then we we return back to work on May 19th, 2020 he received the help for small business and the empolyees came back to work on that date and he was paying cash instead of paper checks and the employes recieved no help from the empolyer after he recieved the loan to help his small bussiness and went on fishing trips. To this day we were not getting a paper check and he just recently asked SOME employees if they wanted paper checks starting in January so he will possibly qualify help again.

* Second thing I was the manager which I had a lot of responsibilities and was only getting paid $3.00 an hour plus tips but the cashier when she was at work $8.50 yet, when i ran the cash register and had to stay late to close down the register and take money bag to employer I was only paid $3.00 an hour he made it perfectly clear he paid no over time but he would want me to come in early and stay late to close down register and restuarnt and take him the money bag without extra pay.

*Third thing I was Diagnosed with COVID on December 29th, 2020 and i was out of work with covid and I took him back a doctors excuse that I was negative but yet there were two other employees that tested positive and they had no doctors excuse and I was told directly by empolyer that he called where I was tested at to make sure I had a negative test even though I already brought him a doctors excuse. He did not check up on others like he did me and I felt like I was being discriminated and working in a hostile enviroment because some of the employes said they were uncomfortable with me being there after having covid and here again two other employees had it and they did not get the same treatment as I did. I was singled out. After, having covid he made the comment to me he would rather loose one person instead 3 or 4 people making me feel uncomfortable me being there he would being the owner of the business never wear a mask and he only shut down the business for Thursday-Monday but we are already closed on Mondays. He did not bring anyone to cleanbut me and another employee heard him say That his son, his sister and he had covid but yet, he took no precautions himself. But here again I singled out. There were three employees that were there that made me feel uncomfortable because of things there were saying about me having covid and actually told the employer that if I came back they would not. After, having covid I also was diagnose with bronchitis that turned into pneumonia and i called into work which I've never did the year and half I was at work. He and other employees felt the need to come by my house and take a picture so he says with there being a lot of vehicles in the yard, but yet the people I rent from have 6 vehicles so, I did not have a party that he text me and told me the reason I did not come into work because I had a party. If what he told the employees that he had called the doctors office to make sure I was negative even after bringing him and excuse saying I was negative and telling the employees that he had taken a picture I feel is an invasion of my privacy. After, him sending me the text and insinuated that I had thrown a party was the reason I called in sick which was not the case at all becasue ive given him every doctor excuse I've had that I did tell him by text "What party are you talking about Bruce? How do you know where I live, I have never told you. but if you did know where I live you would know the people I rent from always have cars in there yard plus mine. You never seem to have a problem with anyone else but me. Its funny how you expect me to bring you excuses when I'm out sick with covid but yet no one else has to bring excuses. But I feel like this is a personal thing you have against me but if you dont trust me I don't need to work for you."and he return a text saying " Lol..thats fine.. I want key today before we close." I did not take him his key that day because i was sick but when I started feeling better I took it to the resturant and pure his saying so, I gave it to another employee. The empolyer also felt like he needed to talk to other employees about me saying things like uestion why I didn't wear makeup on some days?, he said I was dipsy even though I have very bubble personality, he would constantly ask other employees what was wrong with me and tell them that I was own drugs and I Know for a fact I have never done drugs in my life. It was to the point that other employees noticed how was he acting towards me and this made me feel very uncomfortable. We have 17 employees that works for the employer and me and another lady are the only two who can run the registers in the restaurant, he sat me and her down in his office one afternoon and he told us if the register comes short he would take it out of our pay, no matter how much it was and him knowing he doesn't pay us as he should. The two times that it was a high dollar amount with me it was actually an adding error and he made me feel and when I found the error he never apolozige for the things he said because I am not a theft.

These things as well as not taking taxes out on me so I couldnt draw my unemployment or special help with the pandemic made me feel like i was discrinated against, I work in a hostile environment and he was just not a good employer. He looks out for himself not his employees. He would go on trips or not be at the restaurant and leave me in charge as the manager, or ask me to go get things for the restaurant and there was no extra pay.

Georgia Department Of Labor Unemployment

I have contacted Georgia DOL in multiple ways: email (DOL, state rep, governor, DOL commissioner), phone, complaint and information forms. In more than 2 months, I have received ZERO contacts back. I have not received payments since before Thanksgiving, have not received the additional payment since September 20, 2020. I had to apply for full unemployment as of December 1st (was partial unemployment prior to that and laid off due to COVID), which was completed on December 7th. I have not received any additional updates on this. When I attempt to reapply it states that a submission is already pending. I need information or a way to escalate in order to obtain payment.

Desired outcome: Information on Status
