A GOL Employee
Kela Bussey at the Dekalb Career Center rejected my UI claim. The reasoning is I lost my job due to COVID. I am a single mom of 5. My UI didn't kick in quickly enough and my car was taken. She rejected my unemployment saying due to lack of transportation. I AM GOING TO THE NEWS. How can I get a job if I do not get my UI to get my car back so I can get another job. I AM A SINGLE MOM OF 5. THIS IS HOW GEORGIA AND KELA BUSSEY think about the people.
Desired outcome: Reinstate my UI so I can get my car and get to work.
UI insurance claim
I filed for UI benefits April 11th. I am now going on 3 months with a pending claim. I have been unable to reach anyone at the office due to it being closed. The UI customer services number has been disconnected. I've sent atleast 4 emails in that time. I've verified my identity and made sure everything was correct. No one has reached out to me or have I been able to contact anyone and its absolutely ridiculous to wait 3 months.
Desired outcome: GDOL to do their jobs.
Customer service
Their system makes things so confusing. I was approved for PUA and at the end of the "benefit Year" it was really unclear if I had to reapply or not. Their portal already said I was eligible for the additional weeks. I thought they surely would have sent an automated email or letter stating my benefits had been exhausted and I needed to reapply. About a month later they published a docent on their website clairifying when needs to reapply and who doesn't. I reapplied, was approved after a few more weeks, and then a few weeks later I received several deposits for the weeks I had certified for but was not paid. I certified on memorial day weekend knowing the payment would likely show on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Friday came along and still no deposit. I logged into the portal and noticed under claim type it said "UI" and it used to say "PUA". On that page there was a link that said "certify for weekly UI benefits" so I thought ok maybe someone screwed up because my documentation says this is a PUA claim. So I certified on the UI side and my certification was accepted. Two days later on Sunday I certified again the the following week on the UI side and again it accepted my certification
. Still no deposit so I went back to the PUA side and certified and it also accepted my certification. Since the initial deposit in may for back weeks I have not received any payments with no explanation. Over the past 14 months I have left numerous Voice messages and sent numerous emails. During those 14 months they have replied to exactly none of them other than the auto response to emails saying my message has been received and someone would reply within 72 hours.
Desired outcome: Someone please call or email, communication only works when it goes both ways.
Unemployment benefit payments
I am a senior citizen, 73 years old however, my last payment was Jan, 2, 2021. and have been working as a substitute teacher for nine yrs. I was approved for benefits last March. I have continued to certify, refiled my BYE year on April 17 2021. Submitted all info required . I received a letter on May 15, 2021 that my claim is being process. It is now June and no payment, please assist. My claim number is 6192528.
The attachment from Henry County Schools verifies that jobs were not available due to remote learning because of the Pandemic and no jobs were available for full time substitutes. Please assist

Desired outcome: To receive pending payments
Please remove my complaint from public view
Unemployment insurance
I have been trying to find out why my direct deposits stopped and no one responds for the past 6 weeks. My account shows more than $12, 000 available. I have contacted the commissioner, my representative and the DOL customer service department. If the Gainsville office was I would go in person
Desired outcome: Make tie back payments

I was dropped from my PUA claim due to reaching the BYE on April 24 and reapplied the next day, as the GDOL said to do, and I had to supply documents proving my identity on May 9.
The only communication I have received up to now is a physical letter the week after I uploaded my documents stating that my claim was approved.
I have yet to have my account actually updated to a new BYE nor have I received anything from my claims and any attempts to contact anyone via e-mail or messages to their twitter have gone unanswered.
Unemployment Claim Gainesville, GA - approved but still no payments
Hello,
I have emailed and called the Gainesville Department of Labor about my unemployment claim for weeks now. I received an approved determination in the mail on 5/6/2021 for 26 weeks and on the check your claim status via their website it still reflects pending a determination. I have emailed at least 6 times per day and called and left messages daily with no communication from the GA DOL. They don't answer the phone nor respond to emails and I have not had a payment in over 5 weeks. I refiled on April 6 due to my benefit year expiring and received an email on 5/5/2021 my claim was processed and approved.
How can we get anything resolved when you cant go in person and the phones go straight to "leave a VM". My daughter has an approved claim as of July 2020 that STILL has not been paid. No returned calls or emails. What are the employees who work there doing daily when you never get a response from them!
I simply want the payments released. I was employed for 7 years and due to COVID loss my job.
Desired outcome: For my unemployment payments to be released ASAP
Looking for resolution!
Good Afternoon,
I had recently applied for UI benefits and found out that someone else has already filed a claim and was claiming my benefits for several months. I have reported everything and I have yet to hear back about anything regarding my claim. Can someone call me back as soon as possible? Please, I would like to take care of this matter and get things back to rolling for myself. I also found out this person has been applying to jobs and has used my social security number for several things. I feel like I know who the person is because at one point and time we shared a phone and residency. Since leaving the residents I have notice many things out of the ordinary, the individual took my Snap EBT Benefits card for several months. I was not aware that I was even approved. I reported that as well. Thats why Im for sure that individual was utilizing my social to apply and claim benefits as well as start some online banking accounts and prepaid card services to receive money that comes in my name.

I hate to tell you...youre totally screwed. Its already taking people 4-6 months to get their UI benefits . Its absolutely impossible to contact them by phone, email, or visiting the office. This is going to set you back terribly not only do you have to get in touch with the incompetent people there first. Youre going to have to start the entire process over since someone has frauded you smh. I hate to hear it.
About my unemployment
I have been leaving messages to the Statesboro, Augusta, Savannah, and Atlanta offices for 3 weeks going into the 4 weeks. I even try emailing them with no response or feedback. I am out of work due to my employer has no work for me, and I been waiting on benefits for six weeks now, I think it unfair, people need their income to pay their bills. I have my lights were about to be a disconnect, lose my house, and car. I feel like if your eligible you should have received your benefits, just like the DOL website says in 21 days, not 41 days. I have no income to survive out here in this cold heart world. My name is Cynthia roper my email is [protected]@ymail. lcom and my telephone number is 912/244/0222.
Desired outcome: I need my benefits to make my bills asap.
they wont contact you. youre wasting your time. the only thing you can do is hope to god the process it. Took my buddy 6 months to receive his ...im going on 4 months and havent gotten mine still. Ive called every number i could find including our local department. sent 10000 emails. it doesnt matter. they dont care and they dont respond.
1099 g that is not mine
I got a 1099G for 2020 from the Ga. Dept of Labor. I have not received one penny from the Ga, Dept of Labor in 2020 or any other year. I have been retired for over 15 years. I can't get anyone to call me back and their office has been closed for 14 months. I have called them over 20 times.

Unemployment claim
I had a year end in April. I filed my reclaim. I also filed all paperwork that could be needed. My daughter and I are about to be evicted. We have a date set next week in court. We haven't received any information despite numerous emails and calls made to the GA dept of Labor. We are scared. Her school never allowed the students back this pat year. She is only 12 and disabled. My boss hasn't started back. So I have had no income. My tax refund hasn't even been processed. And for whatever reasons I only received the first stimulus check.
Please can someone process my claim so we don't end up in a shelter somewhere next week. I don't even have the money to pay for a moving truck rental or a storage unit for our belongings. We will lose them all.
I appreciate your attention to my issue. Thank you so much,
Kathleen A Chapin

I received a letter stating all was processed!
Post when you received your check
Pua benefits - the whole process!
Filed initial claim for benefits jun. 2020, qualified for pua assistance - provided the information requested and ended up getting denied due to missing income documentation of income received thru march in order to qualify! I had to appeal and did so within the allotted time frame in which I included all income verification to prove I had income during the required time frame! I have not heard anything since my appeal was filed - I have not been given a hearing date, nothing! I was able to schedule an appointment online one time and actually spoke to someone and all they could tell me is that I was in the "que" to be worked and they had no other information! Now I have just lost my husband of 20 years and I am a single parent raising triplets and we have literally hit dire straights here and I can't manage to schedule another appointment via the website it never works anymore! I have left messages everywhere - several career centers and commissioners office - with not one return call! I send emails and get no response! This is ridiculous! When i'm homeless with my kids I will be sure to thank them for putting us there!
Desired outcome: Approve my claim and pay me ASAP
Unemployment Benefits
- Filed on April 22, 2021
- Was told wait 48 hours for further details
- Left approx. 5 voicemails with call back details
- No updates on my benefits
- Impossible to reach anybody via all forms of communication
- Not providing it's duties of a governing establishment for the people
- Essentially waiving my given rights as a U.S. citizen
Upset and frustrated beyond comprehension. If they do not want to do their governing duties, then allow those that would like to obtain a career/or job for working for the public to other people.
Desired outcome: Update me immediately
It can be overwhelming causing lack of retainment.
So, besides being a sounding board for those of us who are frustrated with the GA DOL, how does posting our grievances on this website provide any resolution to our issues?
can start by getting on this petition http://chng.it/yFLRVtKK
Ditto
I am in the same boat. We have a stupid governor. I have called everyday for 10 days and no call backs. I have emailed every day as well and no answers. I don't think anyone is working.
PUA
They are trying to do everything they can to NOT pay us. Now I have no fraud case or no one else using my ID, now they are asking us to go through a 3rd party site for ID verification so next that company can get a breach in the future and have all of our information. Why should we do this? I will send my ID, ss card and birth certificate to GDOL only not to some other site! We all should sue them for this. And then I haven't received anything since March 20th even after re-applying!
Desired outcome: Payments owed
Unemployment Insurance appeal
I should be getting Unemployment Insurance as it was approved where I worked, but due to someone else submitting my name and SS# for Unemployment Insurance for a completely different job and getting declined I had to appeal and have not heard anything from the appeals tribunal in over a month and need the money. The case is so easy to resolve yet I can't get hold of anyone that can help. Is there some way to talk direct to someone who can reconcile my case.
Desired outcome: Receive my Unemployment Insurance backpay I'm due since Dec. 2020
UI claim
I filed for Unemployment after I my BYE date passed. I got a letter informing me to file again. I did. I have gotten no response to emails and I can't get through to any body over the telephone. I've left messages and nothing. I've been doing interviews all week and I have no more income to make it there for the first day of training. Some one please contact me.
Desired outcome: Receive my benefits or get a denial
End to supplemental benefits
GDOL / Brian Kemp -
These blind people are ending extra $300/week EARLY based on nothing substantial! Their reasoning is utterly erroneous. If the HIRING managers actually accepted applicants and at a reasonable wage, there is no doubt their job openings would fill up. INSTEAD of punishing people who aren't being asked to fill the opening (and at a valued wage), get the HIRING managers to raise their pathetic wages and ask people who have the qualifications to fill the job! I can't do anything after applying unless they offer me the job. Why is that so difficult to understand? People need these basic supporting supplemental benefits!
Per Governor Kemp, if Georgia is "opening up", and all businesses are open, then why are the GDOL Unemployment offices still closed? Why is it still impossible after one year of the pandemic to get a human being to help you? He is opting out of the Federal Rescue Act for all types of claims because this state is doing SO wonderful. Then, why oh why, are the GDOL Unemployment humans not in their offices and helping unemployed individuals?
Maybe Governor Kemp can answer this question.
Unemployment benefits
I filed for my unemployment benefits back in January of this year. I am still showing in pending status. I have tried calling both phone numbers hundreds of times. I have left messages when I could get to that point. I also have sent hundreds of emails. I can not get anyone to call me back, answer the phone, or respond to any of my emails. I need this taken care of right away. My phone number is [protected].
thank You

Desired outcome: Get my unemployment benefits
Unemployment insurance need pin reset impossible to get through
I have left numerous e-mails and messages concerning my unemployment benefits and still have not had a call back. The number for the PIN reset number is a dead number and there offices are still closed due to Shelter in Place. This is Georgia people we are open and we all need to get back into the office. This remote working is not working for the GADoL. lack of response is very concerning.
Desired outcome: Call back
