ID.ME Verification and UI claim process
I filed an unemployment claim two weeks ago and have yet to receive any confirmation of its processing. My PIN was locked and despite long hours waiting on hold to verify my identity to unlock my account, I have been denied for frivolous reasons! I have called and left a messages at several field offices and non have returned my call.
An outside entity is therefore preventing me from filing for unemployment insurance that I am entitled under State and Federal law!
Desired outcome: Unlock my PIN
Denial of benefits due to covid issues
I applied for benefits in December 2020 after contacting the DOL and explaining what was going on. My child's daycare closed for 2 weeks or longer due to COVID tests and positive results, I had to stay home with my child during this time and my employer told me that I had no COVID pay to use, even though I should have been offered 10 weeks at 2/3rd pay. I asked the DOL if there was any assistance I would qualify for and explained that it could only be for 2 weeks or so while I waited for daycare to open back up. I was told that it was fine I could apply for assistance and told what exactly to apply for and to make sure that I put daycare closure on my application. I got a letter of denial today from DOL stating that I should not have applied for benefits while I was out on a leave of absence, according to them obeying the laws of COVID and quarantine this was an elective leave of absence. How is obeying the COVID guidelines set forth by the government and our state elective? I have since lost my job "because" I applied for assistance and now I am being denied. The COVID assistance was set in place to keep things like this from happening and keep people from suffering while we abide by the rules. Since December I have blown through all of my savings to pay bills and make sure that I was able to provide for my family. I have had to push bills, change dates, and fall behind on bills that I was normally caught up on and now I am being told that it was my fault. I filed an appeal but who knows how long this is going to take to get any kind of answer. The DOL is there to assist people so why are they giving out wrong information during such a critical time and making people like myself suffer even further.
Desired outcome: I want my benefits that I am owed.
Impossible to contact
The Dalton office does not answer or return phone calls. The main office does not answer or return phone calls or emails. I have sent hundreds of emails to UI customer service, and have heard nothing. I have made hundreds of phone calls to my local office and the UI customer service line. The customer service line does not work, and my local office does not answer or return any phone calls. Honestly, it is mind-boggling to me that this office is still closed as Ga has been reopened. I understand they are dealing with large amounts of claims, but if they can't handle it, they need to outsource or hire more people to meet the needs of the people of Ga. I just want to speak to someone about my benefits that I still have not received after being approved in March of 2021. It's ridiculous that I may lose my house simply because the DOL cannot handle the volume of calls and emails they receive. Incompetence is dangerous, and the Department of Labor's incompetence is costing Georgians their livelihood.
Desired outcome: I would like a case manager to contact me immediately about my benefits.
Website is always down
In addition to all of the other filing complaints, delays, lack of service available, I would also like to note that the website is of the poorest quality and security.
The website to file the claim does not load. This goes on for months. It is not my computer - I have checked the settings and on a rare occasion it will load without changing any computer settings.
This of course exasperates the stress and problems requireing request for back pay and appeals.
Desired outcome: fix the website - loading and security
unemployment benefits
I have been waiting since January 28, 2021 to have my unemployment processed. February 8, 2021 received email that claim was processed however awaiting determination. On my portal though a determination letter is posted that allows benefits. Have not received one payment since January 28, 2021 and when I called on March 9, 2021 was told to be patient that I would be contacted by a representative shortly to proceed to next steps. April 21, 2021 was validated through IDME. To date have still not received anything from GDOL or any unemployment payments.
Desired outcome: Process my Claim fully
Unemployment Department and Commissioner of Department of Labor
THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR REMAINS CLOSED, YET GOVERNOR KEMP IS OPENING UP MOST BUSINESSES. It is not easy getting someone on the phone at the Department of Labor and when you schedule a telephone call, they do not call you back. Even after leaving numerous emails to the customer service of the Unemployment Department and Commissioner of the Department of Labor the issues are not resolved. I am still missing payments that haven't been resolved even though my unemployment was reinstated after doing an application after a year. The Department of Labor is not notifying employees that they have to file a new application. Then once found out, they do not want to pay the missed payments.
Appeal process
It's just a waste of time the Gdol are the worst ever yes ever they don't respond or care I wish it could happen to them
Unemployment Insurance
I am at a loss along with others, and the ineptness of this department. They do not care. I had my last payment on 3-30 and have certified every week, it does not state that you had to re apply, at least not anything I read.
I have called three time have been on hold exactly for 90 minutes, and at that point it rings, and then says that the system is having problems, my blood pressure cannot take THIS. Furthermore, I just had heart surgery in early April and do not need to get upset by this crap.
Please do not vote for this fool Mark Butler as labor commissioner, he needs to go, he is incapable of running this department and making people suffer, this process is absolutely inexcusable.
You have to reapply if it's after March 20, 2021
Getting paid
I received a payment on March 3, 2021. Everything stopped and I read a news report stating we would be extended until September 2021. All of a sudden, at the beginning of April - 2021 - I received payment and also received the extra $300. But - NOTHING since then! I have called, emailed, and screamed until I am blue in the face! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD - FIX THIS AND PAY ME FOR THE OWED AMOUNT DATING BACK TO MARCH 3RD! I am desperate! I have done everything I am supposed to do!
Desired outcome: All monies owed since March 3, 2021
Customer service and unemployment pending eligibility
I have lost all patience with the dol! I have called every day and left countless voicemails concerning my unemployment since I applied over two months ago! Not only will they never answer but they never even call back. So then I started to email the ga dol as well, expressing my desperate need for them to get back to me asap and how ridiculous it is that its taking this long just for pending determination. And still have not recieved one call or email back! People are out here struggling, losing their homes, cant feed their kids and its taking you all months just for pending determination?! Unexceptable! If for some reason I am denied I will have to apply for pandemic assistance in hopes theyre still offering it by that time! Oh but if theyre not im just screwed!? And the fact I cant get in touch with anyone at all to keep this from happening really pisses me off! So I am doing everything in my power now emailing, leaving voicemails, calling every day, and now filing a complaint in hopes someone will finally help me!
Desired outcome: Resolve UI determination and contact me asap!
Unemployment benefits
I lost my job due to covid and applied for unemployment benefits on 1/30/21. I have attempted to contact my local office in Catersville, Ga. I have left 72 voicemail messages and no one has returned my call. The [protected] number for the main department of labor service is busy all day long and you can never get through to anyone. 88 days later I still have received no unemployment benefits.

My name is Kamaria Jackson my claim has been determined since 12/113/20. I received a letter on 04/06/21 it clearly states i am allowed benefit's from 12/13/20. I have been verified, I have kept my information updated, but I have yet to receive any funds and todays date is 04/27/21. this is unexpectable behavior. I have email all offices including our elected official's at the Capital. This is my official letter of complaint. I can be reached at

I filed an UI on Feb 15, 2021. two and half months later, I still have not received the payment. My DOL page shows I still have more than $3, 000 in my account. I received two email messages from DOL, one said that I need to file in NJ, I have nothing to do with "NJ", never been there, never worked there. another message said that sign in and sign the document, but no document could be found. I give the Georgia Department of Labor a "One Star" or no star.

I am having issues resetting my pin that I just was told to reset last week 4/15/2021. I am told again to reset it and go through Id.me. I have already verified with id.me and followed the steps as I was told to again. When you do it gives you an extremely hard time as it states the pages cannot be found and once more that my account has been blocked. I need help as these generic numbers and emails are not providing me resolutions. I attempted to reset it online at the gdol official website and it refers me to id.me again. Some of the phone numbers do not work or emails at all. I called [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], and [protected]. I tried email atlanta.[protected]@gdol.ga.gov and it returns back. I have also called Mark Butler's office multiple times and his assistants email returns back as well
I need some assistance asap as I am officially homeless and had to sleep on the streets and was harassed over 3 times. I would appreciate a form of contact in return. I can be reached at email [protected]@gmail.com and phone number [protected]. Your response is anticipated and appreciated.
Desired outcome: To receive my funding from previous hours and a lot of over time put in over the year and years. I want to be able to have 3 years-5 years to recover safely and comfortably without going to bad managed homeless shelter.
This should be easier for people who kept the economic flow going by putting in time and hours to the earth in all career paths. I think people not being able to access their earned money honestly who were either apart of corporation's and or independent contractors and or entrepreneur's should be provided for without delays what so ever, attitude or forced to go to run down shelters and programs that are moldy or not in operation which is a good majority of all of them. This is tearing down universes and the economy.
Haven't received PUA in three weeks and counting
My name is Tracey Holcombe and I haven't received PUA payments since 03/23/2021, although my benefits have been extended for 79 weeks, I've contacted the U.S. Dept. of labor and haven't received a call or email back, also contacted Georgia Commissioner of the Dept. of labor and haven't heard anything back from his office, this is the first time I've experienced this level of duress from the unemployment office, I know they have employees who can contact people and let them know what's going on with their cases but they opt not too, this is definitely grounds for a lawsuit, I honestly believe they're making excuses not to pay us. This is truly saddening.
UI Assistance is why I am filing a complaint.
I received benefits from 4/20 until 8/20 last year. Had an appeal hearing case closed. The GDOL CSR handling the case informed me not to stop claiming my weekly payments and that they would look back into my case to see if the job they was initially suppose to be the job I was to receive payments under was approved for payments to continue seeing that it was a 1099 job. After a few weeks I was informed that if I sent over documents of how I received payment through my job. why I was let go and the name of my boss then I would be approved as long as everything was good and I wasnt fired. Did all that finally in December I was approved but did not receive that letter until January. Its now going on 34 weeks and nothing. 2 of the GDOL CSR have been in contact with me via email. Still nothing. Also I emailed all documents showing the weeks claimed all letters from them all the employment I have looked for everything they would need to determine I should be receiving payments. But still nothing. If this matter is not resolved by Monday of next week I am going to have to get my attorney on this. That is the last thing I want to do. That is just more time I dont have. I need help. Ihave emailed the commissioner and the GDOL enough that thismatter should of been resolved long time ago. Because its beennow 34 weeks this Sunday coming up I want all back pay from the 1st week claimed I did not receive on until now. This is just gone on too long and I am at my wits end with it. I really hope someone gets back with me by tomorrow being Friday cause Monday you all will be hearing from my attorney. But I have to take this to the news as well. Cause this is wrong what you all are doing.
Desired outcome: I just need my payments to start and backpay.
Georgia Department of Labor
I filed for unemployment in March of 2020. I listed my work history as my recent job as independent contractor, followed by past work history. April 2020 I received a phone call from GDOL staff to process my claim. She informed me that she was going to file i my claim under the job I had worked earlier on in the year. She ensured me that I would receive the same amount of benefits, but this would be the quickest way. I pressed her about the issue, because I didn't want to get in trouble. She insured me that it would not happen. After the PUA settled, I called the GDOL a several times to Inquire whether I needed to be on the PUA. One person told me that I was correct, and if there was an issue they would be in contact with me.
I received unemployment benefits for 4 1/2 months, until I received an appeal court date in the mail. My prior employer, the one in which my unemployment was filed under naturally appealed the claim. Before the hearing 10/23/2020, I try to get in touch with the GDOL to see exactly what I needed to do about the situation. It wasn't until the hearing 11/06/2020that I was able to detest, however I was muzzled because of the nature of the phone call.
After the obvious verdict was reached, I was contacted via email. I answered their questions, and emailed and explained what happened. A week later I received a letter(11/09/2020) in the mail stating that I was no longer to receive unemployment benefits from this employer because my unemployment did not meet the requirements to draw.
I appealed on 12/01/2020 on the verdict and have yet to hear back from anyone. I called several times to inquire about a confirmation email. I emailed 12/29/2020 the appeal board with no contact. I appealed 3/23/2021 and have yet to hear back. From November until the beginning of April of this year I have claimed every single week that I wasn't receiving benefits and have still been unemployed. I have unAble to work the entire time and Unable to receive benefits, or speak to anybody who might can tell me what to do. I logged in on April 13, 2021 to my entire account deleted for unemployment. So all the weeks that I claimed are gone, all my information is gone. I don't like harassing voicemails so I call once a week and leave a message with my number and still nothing.
I could understand if this was a fault of mine. I filed my application correctly, listing my last known employer as an independent contracted. I'm being ignored, overlooked, and now deleted for GDOL staff filing the wrong paperwork. I don't remember who the lady was that filed my case, and surely I don't want get her in trouble. However, I have lost everything I own except for my flesh and blood. I have no home, no vehicle, I have no income, I have been waiting on my federal refund for 2 months. We've got people who have jobs that are receiving unemployment benefits and then there is this.
Surely after a year, things have settled down enough to sort this out.
Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: Paid the benefits that I’ve lost
Payment not received, reset my password.
On April 6, 2021 I went into the system to reset my pin, I reset my pin and was locked out of the system. I been trying to get back in every day almost through ID. me.
