We had one of your homes delivered from Freedom Homes of Beaver, WV. The sales staff were a joy to deal with, no complaints at all with them. The problems have to do with the home itself. In a previous letter, the problems were addressed with regard to the delivery and set-up of our home without much feedback from your company, positive or negative. Based upon this reaction, as well as the condition of the home at the writing of this letter, we will never recommend any of your homes to anyone we even remotely know. Listed below are a few of the reasons for this: 1)Numerous doors (interior-exterior) do not close-fit well, among these are: in the baby's room (entry and closet)door, our daughter's entry door, daughter’s bathroom door, master bedroom (entry and double doors) the double doors do not match evenly nor do they shut properly, front door (entry and storm), and the utility room door;2)the closet organizers are not supported by fasteners in studs or even wall anchors, recently in the middle of the night, the organizer in the master bedroom fell, startling my family from their rest; 3) fasteners which are on the strips on the floor under the kitchen linoleum are coming up, and with a new baby who is beginning to crawl, this is a definite hazard to him; 4) there is a visible build-up of soot-carbon on the front eve of the house near the front door; 5) at the exterior French doors, there is noticeable water damage to the door facing, trim, wall, and carpet, at one point, it was so damp that we used multiple towels to dry the floor, at present, we are unsure of the extent of damage due to this travsity;6) there is evidence of a chronic leak around the front entry door, again, not sure of the extent of unseen damage and ;7)unknown extent of damage from leak that occurred between the marriage walls near our daughter's bedroom door. Our home is a 2006 Giles Home; model Pearl, dimensions 28'x54', ser. #GM5916. It is our hope and desire that this letter fully expresses our utter disgust with this entire ordeal, due to the fact that this is our first (and hopefully) last home, and it galls us to no end that this is something that we are paying for, and based upon the problems thus far, not being sure as to what the condition and-or status of our home will be in 5, 10, or 15 years.

I also have mold in my closets. The wall above one bedroom door is 3 inches shorter on one side than the other leaving a crack above the door. There are weak spots in the floors. The water heater was tilted causing it to leak. The roof rotted because shingles were loose and there were none in some places. Many other problems too numerous to mention.

We Bought a Giles home back in November and since the day we moved it we all have broke out in a bad rash. The doors don't shut properly the laminate flooring is bubbling (in all the rooms that have that flooring) the pipes under the kitchen sink keep coming apart! All the trim is different sizes and some are warped, the kitchen counter top has gaps, the furnace is kicks on and dims a the lights until it shuts off. The air conditioner/furnace makes bubbling, ticking, and crackling noises when it kicks off. Scared it is going to catch fire. The from screen/glass door slams. I would not recommend anyone to buy one of their houses. Not to mention they didn't ### around the tub or sink. When I get shoes of them about the rash they say they will talk to corporate but since they don't have enough people calling about the same problem there is nothing they can really do. They can come take this house give me my money back

We bought a home in 2009. The roof began leaking within our first few months. The doors and cabinets started falling apart almost immediately. The walls are so paper thin that a small bump will cause a hole in it. This house is a NIGHTMARE. I would never recommend these homes to anyone.

We purchased our home in 2015 after a fire destroyed our first home. I have to say this home has been a nightmare since day 1. All of our light switches have broken and fell off. The front door has been replaced by them twice and still does not shut properly and our kitchen window cracked due to us having to slam the door in the harsh winter to get it to shut. Ughhh! The pantry doors fell off immediately both times they replaced them also. I was promised that padding went under both the carpet and the linoleum. That was a lie. There isnt any under either one. Linoleum keeps pulling up. Cabinets are generic with paper covering to look like wood. The bar counter is curling up and on top of it all we have called numerous times to have it fixed and the company plus maintenance are horrible with communication. The maintenance man called to say he would arrive duting a certain date and then never showed up and willnot return my calls and the company itself deant even know when he will make it here or even where he is working today for that matter. I will never recommend these hones to anyone ever!

We purchased a Giles home in 2014. Withing the first year, our roof leaked causing black mold, falling trim at the marriage line, and damage to the trusses. The plumbing underneath keeps falling apart. None of the doors shut properly. There was no vent for our dryer when they had said they would put one in. We did it ourselves. Our windows do not open and close properly. We have had them replace our front door and screen door twice. And again, our screen door fell off the home and our front door refuses to close properly. Our AC/Furnace kicks on and will not shut off even when the set temperature has been reached. It just keeps running. Our home is no where near level and is sagging in the middle. Also, our shingles are almost all missing since the first 6 months. We have called and complained and they say they will not fix it. It is not covered by our extended warranty. I will NEVER buy another home from these frauds. They can take this home and give me my money back.

We bought a Giles home in Feb '17. Did not get the home delivered until Aug '17. Had a bunch of issue, most of which were corrected by the maintenance man. The biggest problem is the shower in the master bath. The sliding doors do not fit because the fiberglass shower insert is not square. The top is 3/4" wider than the bottom. They have sent the maintenance man out several times, as well as the factory service team. Still not right, and they tore up the moulding, reused them, and left it looking like it had been sprayed by machine gunfire. The corners don't line up and it looks like crap! Also have a 1/4" gap at the bottom of my front door that lets the ants in. The maintenance man said he didn't have the stuff to fix it, but said I could go to Lowe's and get it! What! Lol! There are many other little things ( doors that won't stay open, trim falling off, cheap carpet, etc.) that are annoying, but not major. Another thing that bugs is that they don't return calls! I have left messages with the dealer and never hear back. Been trying to reach someone at the plant in New Tazewell for 2 weeks! Have left at least half a dozen messages and still no answer. Love my home, dispise the sales and service. As for recommending a Giles home...not in a million years! My daughter and her husband are going to buy a new double wide in the spring, and I can guarantee it won't be a Giles! yo

I totally agree on a class action lawsuit! It is ridiculous! I just told my husband today that we needed to do this. We will have to remodel the whole house in a few years, We have already had to replace a lot of things.

We too bought a Giles home, the Game Changer model, in July 2011. We have had nothing but problems out of it. We will have to remodel this home in less than 5 years and we are paying for it for another 10 years. It is ridiculous! The home is not level and doors do not shut properly, we complained to the dealer, Clayton Homes in Pelham, Al, but they never did anything. Within 6 months two of our bathroom faucets popped off causing water to go everywhere. The wall cabinet in the master bath had to be replaced, which they did replace but never fixed the big spot on the ceiling but they never came to check on the 2nd bath when it happened. Neither tub is caulked at the floor and we have to keep a towel down to catch excess water and I am scared of what the damage is gonna be like when we have to fix it. Also wishing 6 months the staples in our den carpet started coming up and we had to just pull them all up, this is the cheapest carpet I have ever seen. In the first year The vinyl in the kitchen had spots where the nails for the sub flooring was coming through and had cuts in them from everyday use. My kitchen cabinets are that cheap pressboard and have all swollen up and are peeling from normal spills. When it was delivered there was cracked walls in every room that they had to replace and the island in the kitchen was out of square Andy they never fixed it properly, just tried to cover it up. The overall design of the this home is very poor, there should have been more thought in the placement of the dishwasher and refrigerators. The furnace blows a contractor every winter and we have to replace it. The laundry room is a joke, not near big enough and again poor design, the laundry room door and the outside door open into each other and is a real pain to use and the location of the dryer vent cause the dryer to have to sit out from the wall and if it is half an inch out too far the outside door hits it when opening and closing. The racks in the closets are not installed properly, they are not attached to the studs and the anchors have pulled out of the Sheetrock, and again poor design. The vent on the roof has been leaking for years, we have repaired it four times and it has leaked into the master closet causing mold. All the trim is different and not flush with the windows. We were told there were no other options for carpet and were not told of the other available options that I have seen online since we had ours built. This has been a nightmare and we regret ever buying this home and will never buy another home from Clayton Homes. I wish they would refund us what we have paid and take this thing back so we could get a better home! And I agree with the class action, they should have to pay for all their crappy construction!
