Extremely pleased with Goldbelly
Extremely pleased with Goldbelly. Spending nearly $700 on a food order is dicey but so glad I did. All packages, save one, arrived in same delivery. The other arrived later the same day. All items were fresh, carefully packed & were complete. Family sure enjoyed it. Prior to ordering I has "pestered" a sweet employee, whether Nathan hot dogs were natural casing (This info did not appear in the description.). The employee checked, twice for I asked twice, & and said they were and know what, they were This is now my source for obtaining the taste of my youth in NYC and I gather they provide the same service for those raised in other locales.I If you have a taste for the past from your home town, this should be your source as well.

When Covid first caused the lockdown in March, I sent my grandchildren a treat from Goldbelly. I wanted them to know I was thinking of them . They live in Md. and I'm in Ct. I then sent a second treat. One day I got the idea that I should send them on a "virtual culinary tour" of America. Before the next treat arrives, I send them hints about the state of origin as well as the item. Treat #19 arrives this week and #20-22 are already scheduled. My grandchildren have been doing virtual learning since March and will continue until the end of January. I have had fun coming up with clues and they have enjoyed guessing. (I don't repeat states). Thank you Goldbelly for helping me provide a geography lesson for my grandchildren as well as connecting us in a unique way.

I almost considered a quick turn around flight to NYC (from Nashville) just to pick up some *** bagels when I found out *** did Nationwide Delivery. What? They actually deliver a LOT of yummy items from restaurants / food establishments from around the country. Food seems to be the only thing that differentiates the days right now . . and I felt I needed a treat. Ordering through the Goldbelly website was almost TOO easy . . . I was ready to jump through way more hoops, but I didn't have to. My bagels arrived right on time in perfect shape - and it was easy to track them via Goldbelly. It really has made my month (I bought a LOT of bagels) and would certainly consider using Goldbelly for future treats or gifts. THANKS to the GoldBelly team (and *** bagels).
If you're thinking of ordering, stop thinking and just DO IT!
If you're thinking of ordering, stop thinking and just DO IT! Goldbelly provides an excellent service that you can count on to be "as described"! My son was very happy with the "Cake Pops" I ordered as a Birthday Surprise from "Cake Monkey"! The cake pops arrived in pristine shape, perfectly packaged, and by overnight Fed Ex with free s/h! Each individually wrapped "Cake Pop" (like a "hand pie" only better) was so good! Two each of five different flavors, all so yummy we could not decide on "a favorite"! I will be ordering more "food cravings" for the entire family from Goldbelly, having complete confidence that they will, not only provide "the best of the best", but will as well, always "have my back"! I seriously do NOT understand the negative reviews, *except to say perhaps that "no matter what you try to do to please some people, it will never "be enough"!

I discovered Goldbelly on a trip to New Orleans while returning to Central Grocery for another one of their famous Muffuletta sandwiches when I saw that they shipped Nationwide. Upon returning home to NW Washington state, I eventually succumbed and ordered. It was facilitated by Goldbelly and was a vibrant reminder of my love for New Orleans and it’s food. Since then I’ve ordered food from other cities and restaurants that I’ve enjoyed. Pizzas, beef, savories pies, vegan options for my son. I’ve been very happy with nearly every purchase. Is it as good as eating the food at its source? Of course not, but it’s proved to be pretty damn close. My one issue with Goldbelly involved an order of vegan “ice cream” that I ordered for my son during the Covid lockdown that arrived melted and was promptly discarded. It was handled to my satisfaction. Especially in light of the additional logistics obstacles presented by this pandemic. Even in a perfect world, getting ice cream delivered from NYC to somewhere NW of Seattle next day is a wonder. Restaurant owners and staff have a challenge in this economy. I’m happy to try to support those I’ve enjoyed, and those I plan to visit when this storm eventually passes. Until then, I’ll continue to “visit” through Goldbelly. Thrive!
Goldbelly.com Review: Poor Customer Service Model and Frustrating Experience
I recently made a purchase from Goldbelly.com and overall, it was a smooth experience. However, as with any business, there are bound to be hiccups along the way. Unfortunately, my first hiccup with Goldbelly.com was quite frustrating due to their poor customer service model.
Firstly, their customer service is only available through email, which I don't mind, but the problem is that they do not respond in a timely manner. In fact, the one time they did respond, they didn't even address my concerns and instead wrote a generic statement about COVID.
Let me give you some background on my situation. I ordered ice cream which was supposed to be shipped on the 20th, but it was delayed by UPS. Then, it was supposed to be delivered on the 23rd, but by 10 pm, UPS still had not arrived. To my surprise, the tracking information showed that I refused the package at 10:10 pm, which didn't make sense because I was already asleep by then. Additionally, deliveries after 10 pm of perishable items are unacceptable. They then said they would redeliver on the 24th, but it was a no-show. Now, the delivery date is set for the 27th, which is seven days after the initial shipment. Who in their right mind believes that ice cream can hold for 7 days without refrigeration?
Throughout this entire ordeal, I only received one terrible response from Goldbelly.com, which did not address any of my concerns. All I wanted was to either set up a new delivery or receive a refund, but it seemed like an impossible task.
Businesses that work with Goldbelly.com should be aware that their poor handling of these hiccups reflects poorly on them. As a customer, I felt like I was left in the dark with no way to resolve my issue.
At this point, I am considering disputing the charge because there has been absolutely no dialogue with Goldbelly.com. It's a shame because I was initially pleased with my purchase, but their lack of customer service has left a sour taste in my mouth.
Update: It took a long time to get my issue resolved, but it eventually was. However, Goldbelly.com still needs to work on their customer service response time.
Goldbelly Review: No Accountability or Customer Service for Shipping Delays and Spoiled Food
Yo, listen up y'all. I gotta tell you about my experience with Goldbelly. Now, I know we've all been dealing with some crazy shipping delays lately, but that's not even the half of it.
Let me tell you, if you're thinking about ordering anything that's not frozen or baked goods, you better watch out. Especially if you're ordering from a local restaurant in your own state.
I put in an order on April 5 for some BBQ sides - potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, and rolls. I even paid extra for shipping on top of the regular menu price. I requested a delivery date of Friday, April 30 because I'm having a family celebration on Saturday, May 1.
Now, I knew there was a chance the package could be delayed, but I was willing to take the risk. And I understood the restaurant's instructions that the items would be good if refrigerated for up to three days.
But guess what? I woke up this morning to UPS alerts saying my package was arriving today - April 27. That's a full five days before my party, and definitely outside the recommended shelf life.
And you know what Goldbelly did? Nothing. They took zero responsibility and didn't even apologize. They just sent me a link to their policy that says no refunds or recourse once an item has shipped.
I even reached out to the restaurant directly, but I doubt they'll take any responsibility either. And to top it off, they packed everything in paper containers, so it was already leaking despite the short transit time.
So now I'm out of money and I have to go shopping and prepare new items so my guests don't get sick from spoiled food.
It's unbelievable. I'm so tired of there being no accountability or customer service. Goldbelly just lost another customer.
Disappointing Experience with Goldbelly: Delayed and Rotten Lobster Rolls, Poor Customer Service
So, I had a bit of a situation with Goldbelly recently. My in-laws were craving some lobster rolls from their favorite restaurant in Maine, but they live in Rhode Island. I suggested they try Goldbelly, since I've had good experiences with them in the past. They were excited to give it a shot, even though they had to pay extra for overnight shipping.
Unfortunately, the rolls were delayed by the carrier and ended up arriving in a pretty sorry state. They were hot, rotten, and the container was cracked, which made their entire house smell like a fish market. Gross.
Now, I want to be clear that this was not Goldbelly's fault. They have a zero refund policy, but they did offer to either give us a credit or send a replacement. However, my in-laws were so put off by the whole experience that they didn't want the replacement and they weren't planning on using Goldbelly again, so the credit wasn't really helpful.
We asked for a refund and things started to get a little tense. We were eventually put in touch with a senior customer service member (whose name I won't mention), and things went from bad to worse. The conversation was increasingly condescending and rude, and I was really taken aback by the way we were being treated.
After a lot of back and forth, we did eventually get our refund, but not before the customer service rep felt the need to lecture us about the risks of shipping perishables nationwide. I mean, come on. We're not idiots. We know that shipping food across the country is risky. But that's why we paid extra for overnight shipping and trusted Goldbelly to handle it properly.
Honestly, the whole experience was pretty disappointing. I understand that mistakes happen and things can go wrong, but the way we were treated by the customer service team was really unacceptable. I don't think we'll be using Goldbelly again in the future.
Goldbelly Review: Terrible Customer Service and Spoiled Food
I gotta say, I had a pretty rough time with Goldbelly. I ordered a bagel, lox, cream cheese special for an event that was several days away. But boy, did things go wrong. The delivery was supposed to come on Friday, but it shipped late and the weather was bad. I tried calling and emailing Goldbelly on Thursday and Friday, but got no response. Fedex told me that the package was sitting in Memphis, and I was starting to get worried. I tried calling and emailing Goldbelly again on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but still no response. It wasn't until Tuesday evening that the package finally arrived, but it was completely spoiled. I was so frustrated that I had to dispute the bill with American Express just to get a response from Goldbelly. And when they finally did respond, they only offered me a credit!
I was so fed up that I decided to call Russ & Daughters directly. The person I spoke with was so lovely and helpful, and she promised to get in touch with Goldbelly right away. It wasn't until then that Goldbelly finally issued a refund. But even after all that, their customer service was still terrible. Their website and phone machine said that they were available from 8am EST, but I couldn't get a hold of anyone for six full days! I even filed a complaint with the BBB, but their response was just a generic message about high order volumes and email inquiries. They didn't even bother to read my review or explain why they had zero customer service for six days.
Honestly, I don't think Goldbelly should be in business if they can't even send an automatic email for six days. It's just unacceptable. From now on, I'll just go directly to the restaurant.
Mixed Feelings About Goldbelly: Hit or Miss Shipping and Prices
I'm not sure what to think about Goldbelly. On one hand, the food looks amazing and I really want to try it. But on the other hand, the prices are pretty steep and the shipping seems to be hit or miss. I recently ordered some babka for my family and was excited to try it out. I checked the shipping date and it was scheduled to go out that day. But the next day, it still hadn't shipped. I reached out to Goldbelly and they responded quickly, saying that it had just shipped and apologizing for the delay. However, because of the delay, the bread ended up being stale and dry when it arrived. Not exactly what I was hoping for.
Despite the disappointment, I appreciated that Goldbelly was apologetic and offered to credit my account for the same amount. So, a week later, I decided to use the credit and ordered some crab legs for my birthday. I checked the shipping date and it was supposed to go out that day. But the next day, it still hadn't shipped. I reached out to customer service and they told me that the company had run out of crab legs and wouldn't be able to ship them until the following week. I was pretty upset that I wasn't notified of this beforehand, especially since my birthday was coming up and I had planned a special dinner with the crab legs. I asked for a refund, but I'm not sure if I'll actually get it. I'm worried that I'll end up with another credit and have to deal with the disappointment all over again.
I understand that sometimes things can be the vendor's fault, but Goldbelly needs to take some responsibility for the vendors they choose to work with. It's frustrating to spend a lot of money on something and have it not live up to expectations. I hope that Goldbelly can work out these kinks and improve their shipping and communication in the future. But for now, I don't think I'll be doing business with them again.
Goldbelly's Unauthorized Substitution Ruined My Mother's Day Celebration
I recently made a purchase on Goldbelly for a special Mother's Day celebration for my wife. I ordered a double chocolate cheesecake with Ghiradelli Chocolate from Eli's Cheesecake Company for $74. Unfortunately, the cake was delayed by a day, but it arrived on May 9, the Saturday before Mother's Day. When I opened the package, I was disappointed to find that it was not what I had ordered. Instead of the double chocolate cheesecake, I received a candy cookie cheesecake sampler with peanut butter, caramel, and other ingredients that we don't eat.
I immediately contacted Goldbelly to resolve the issue. The representative I spoke with was dismissive and unhelpful. She first claimed that the confirmation email showed the cookie sampler, but I had already emailed my original receipt which clearly showed the correct order. After I pointed this out, she admitted that Goldbelly had changed my order without my authorization. She then informed me that I had received an email the day before at 10:33am, stating that I had to respond by 12pm or the substitute would be sent. However, I was not able to respond within that time frame as I was at work and unable to check my email. I did not authorize the use of my credit card for any other product than what I had ordered.
I was extremely disappointed that I had lost our Mother's Day dessert and that Goldbelly had authorized my card for a product I did not order. The representative kept interrupting me and saying that it was the restaurant's decision and that there was nothing else she could do. She did offer to refund me, but that did not make up for the fact that Goldbelly had substituted my order without my consent. The 'substitution e-mail' also came from Goldbelly, not the restaurant. Goldbelly is supposed to be the liaison to protect our transaction here, not the conduit for unauthorized activity. The representative even said that she didn't have time for me and had to go 'handle' other customers. She wouldn't even give me her name.
This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. Goldbelly is not a company that cares about its customers. It is disappointing to see a company that I had previously spent almost $1000 on in the few months prior treat its customers so poorly. I hope that Goldbelly takes steps to improve its customer service and ensure that this does not happen to anyone else in the future.
Goldbelly's Misleading Promotion and Terrible Customer Service
So, I got an email from Goldbelly offering a $50 discount on a piecaken. I was excited to try it out, but the promo code was not included in the email. I called customer service to place my order, but was told that the offer had expired. I was confused because there was no expiration date mentioned in the email. I emailed Zack at customer service and he agreed that there was no expiration date. However, he only offered me a $15 discount instead of the $50 discount I was promised.
I asked for a supervisor, but never received a callback. I eventually placed my order on a Friday and confirmed that I would like to use the promotion I had received. However, I was charged $85 instead of the $50 I was promised. My emails were ignored and I never received a call back. I finally got through to customer service on Tuesday and was told that the ad was misleading. They rerouted my cake back to them just two days before Thanksgiving, which was very frustrating.
Goldbelly has great marketing and a great website, but their customer service is terrible. They represent various companies, but I doubt that these companies are aware of the negative impact that Goldbelly's poor customer service has on their reputation. I had a negative experience with Goldbelly twice and I will never use their service again. Remember, a satisfied customer shares their experience with three friends, but an unhappy customer tells everyone.
Avoid Gold Belly: Terrible Customer Service and Poor Quality Products
Gold Belly is a company that I would not recommend to anyone! I had a terrible experience with their customer service, or lack thereof. I ordered 24 macaron cookies for $74, which is quite expensive, but I was willing to pay the price for quality cookies. Unfortunately, the cookies arrived in a terrible condition. They were melted, crushed, and there was syrupy liquid running inside the box. The cookies were stuck to the plastic container from the filling melting, and one of the boxes was open, which made me concerned about spoilage. I had to throw all 24 cookies away, which was a waste of money.
I contacted Gold Belly's customer service via email, and I expected a prompt response. However, it took them a week to resolve my issue. They blamed me for the delay, claiming that my email and Facebook message were confusing. I provided my full name, order number, photos, and detailed information in every attempt at contact. However, there was no customer service available by phone.
When I finally heard back from a Facebook representative, I provided my full name, order number, and screenshots of the response from Gold Belly via email. However, the representative did not read my message and requested the same information that I had already provided. They were also rude and yelled at me, which was unacceptable. I tried to file a complaint against the representative, but the supervisor defended them and blamed me for the delay.
It took a week from my initial contact to receive a credit in my Gold Belly account. They do not offer refunds, and they have so many complaints that they delete and hide them on their Facebook posts. They also do not have a review section, and many upset customers post negative reviews in the comment section of Gold Belly's posts. If you search for bad reviews of Gold Belly, you will find many of them. I wish I had researched the company before purchasing.
I posted my review along with a screenshot of the representative's rude response, but Gold Belly deleted it along with other bad reviews within less than 10 minutes. They try to hide the numerous complaints, but they do not offer a quick resolution. Many customers have had to do a chargeback with their credit card company because Gold Belly refuses to do anything.
In conclusion, I would advise anyone to avoid this shady company. I will be reporting them to the BBB, and I hope that others will do the same.
Goldbelly Review: Overpriced and Disappointing Experience with Caroline's Cakes 7-Layer Caramel Cake
Update: I got a response from Goldbelly about my review. S[removed for privacy] W. from Goldbelly reached out to me personally to address my concerns. They apologized that I wasn't satisfied with my Caroline's Cakes order and explained that the cake arrived in good condition based on my photos and description. They suggested that I refrigerate the cake before serving if I prefer a firmer texture. I appreciate their response and hope to find something else great with the rest of my gift card funds.
GOLDBELLY - CAROLINE'S CAKES 7-LAYER CARAMEL CAKE
I got a $100 gift card for Goldbelly, and I was excited to try it out. But after my experience, I won't be using Goldbelly again.
First of all, I was surprised to see how much Goldbelly marks up their prices. I found that most of the vendors I wanted to try had much lower prices if I ordered directly from them. For example, a package of boudin sausage costs $10.99 before shipping if I order directly from the vendor, but it costs $45 at Goldbelly.
Secondly, Goldbelly charges a $25 shipping fee per merchant. So if I want to order a cake from one merchant and pizza from another, I have to pay $25 for each shipping fee. During the holiday season, the shipping fee goes up to $30-$40, regardless of the shipping date.
As for my actual order, I used a $15 promo code to order Caroline's 7-Layer Caramel Cake. The cake arrived on time and was packed well, but it was smaller than I expected. The cake was only 3 inches tall, and the layers were uneven and much thinner than the promo pics. The caramel was gritty and slid off half of one side of the cake within 40 minutes of thawing. The cake itself wasn't dense enough to hold the caramel, and it wasn't good at all. I only had two bites of a $75 cake ($65 + $25 shipping - $15 promo), and the rest of my family only had one bite. The next morning, the cake was a mushy, wet mess with broken down, goopy caramel that slid off all sides of the cake.
I contacted Goldbelly support the same morning, but they didn't seem to care. The rep gave me a $15 promo code to use within 30 days of my complaint, but that doesn't even cover the shipping fee. I still have $15 left on my gift card, but I don't think I'll be using it anytime soon.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Goldbelly to anyone. The marked-up prices and shipping fees make it a waste of money, and the quality of the products isn't worth it. Save your money and order directly from the vendors instead.
Disappointing Experience with Goldbely: Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service
So, last Friday was my Mom's birthday and I was looking for something unique to send her. She's getting older and when she wants something, she'll generally buy it for herself. I stumbled upon goldbely.com and was amazed by the variety of treats they had to offer. It's a bit pricey, but I don't mind paying for quality. I ordered some ice cream bars from a company called #Coolhaus and some cookies from #Monica'sGourmetCookies. I made sure that they would be delivered on Friday and paid extra to guarantee it. The total cost was $139, which was promptly removed from my checking account using PayPal.
I called my Mom early in the morning to wish her a happy birthday and let her know that I was excited about the gift I sent her. I told her it would be delivered that day and that I'd call her again after work. When I called her after work, she said she received the cookies and they were beautiful. She tried a peanut butter one and it was delicious! Thanks to Monica's Gourmet Cookies! However, the ice cream bars were not shipped. The order was "processing". The order for my Mom's birthday that was supposed to be delivered that day at no extra charge (haha) wasn't even packed or shipped. The $79 ice cream bars!
I tried to contact customer service at #Goldbely, but it was marginal at best. I tried calling and using the chat feature on their website, but I had to wait for a long time to get a response. Finally, I received an email at 8:00 pm saying that they were working with Coolhaus to have my order shipped that day and provided a FedEx tracking code. No explanations, no apologies, nothing.
As a first-time customer, my impression of this company sucks! I work for a company that provides exceptional customer service every time, no matter what, so I expect the same. I think this was handled poorly. I paid $79 for some ice cream bars, and the customer service was terrible. I'm sorry #Goldbely, but you lost me here. I think this was a crappy deal for some $79 ice cream bars!
