Goodman Manufacturing: A Disappointing Experience with Defective Units and Poor Customer Service
I recently had an experience with Goodman Manufacturing and I must say, it was not a pleasant one. My air conditioning unit, which is less than 5 years old and still under manufacturer warranty, stopped working during the scorching 100-degree weather. It felt like we were baking inside an all brick oven (home). I immediately contacted Goodman Manufacturing and sent them all the necessary information. To my relief, I received a warranty from them via email. However, my relief was short-lived.
The distributor, who was supposed to order the part we needed, refused to do so because they claimed that the a/c was registered to a gentleman in Florida, but they refused to give me his name. This was beyond horrific service that I expected from a namebrand company. I was left sweltering in the heat with no solution in sight.
To make matters worse, the a/c technician who came to inspect the unit informed me that they do not install Goodman units because they have defective coils and are cheaply made. I was shocked to hear this and felt like I had been cheated. I had trusted the brand and had invested my hard-earned money in their product, only to be let down.
Now that I know about the quality issues with Goodman units, I can assure you that I will NEVER buy one of their units again. I caution you about buying one of these cheaper brands, too. Spend a little more and get a different brand that you can trust. It's not worth the hassle and frustration that comes with dealing with a company that doesn't stand behind their product.
Frustrating Experience Registering Units with Goodman Manufacturing
I gotta say, I had a pretty frustrating experience trying to register my units on Goodman Manufacturing's website. I mean, these were brand new units, so there was no reason why their system shouldn't have recognized the serials. But no matter how many times I tried, it just wouldn't work. I even forgot about it for a while, but when I tried again, it was still a no-go.
So, I figured I'd try calling in for some help. But their phone system kept disconnecting and hanging up on me. I tried filling out their online email form, but I never got a response. And when I tried their chat, I was put on hold for at least an hour (they said it would only be a minute, but come on).
Finally, after all that, I managed to get through on the phone. But by then, it was too late. I had missed the 60 day window for the extended warranty. And you know what? They didn't give me a break at all. I mean, after all the problems THEY caused in getting it registered, you'd think they'd cut me some slack. But nope.
Honestly, if registering the warranty was this much of a pain, I can only imagine what a nightmare getting service would be.
Disappointing Experience with Goodman Heat Pumps: Poor Quality, Customer Service, and Support
I bought two goodman heat pumps from goodmanmfg.com around three years ago. Unfortunately, the first unit failed within the first few months. The compressor was very noisy and it kept surging. They replaced the compressor, but that one also failed. Eventually, they replaced the entire unit. However, the second unit has now failed with the same problems. I contacted Goodman and they replaced the compressor, but it cost me $1200 in labor and trip charges. Even after the replacement, the unit still isn't running correctly. It has very low heat output and is very noisy. I'm worried that it won't cool properly this summer. The unit cost me around $3000 to install, so fixing it will be very expensive. Either the contractor/installer or I will have to foot the bill.
I'm very disappointed with Goodman/Daikin. They don't back up their units and their customer service is very poor. The person from Goodman/Daikin was very rude to me. This alone would make me not buy from them again. Poor units, combined with not standing behind their products and poor customer service, will make me buy from another company in the future. Goodman used to be a reliable company until they were purchased by Daikin. If I could, I would give them no stars at all.
Beware of Goodman Air and Heating Units: A Frustrating Warranty Experience
I gotta say, I've been using Goodman air and heating units for a while now, and while some folks might say they're the cheaper brand, they're definitely more affordable for folks like me who don't have a ton of cash to throw around. I've had my unit for just over 5 years now, and unfortunately the compressor died on me. I was pretty bummed out to find out that the warranty only covered me for 5 years, so I had to pay out of pocket to get it fixed.
I had Pat Walsh plumbing, heating, and cooling come out to install it for me, and they told me that Goodman actually gives a 10 year warranty on their units. But when I called in to try and get it covered, I found out that I wasn't even registered as a buyer, and that the warranty was only good for 5 years. I gotta say, I was pretty frustrated about the whole thing.
I mean, first of all, why didn't Pat Walsh let me know about the warranty and register it for me? And secondly, did they know that the unit was only going to last for 5 years, so they only warranted it for that long? It just seems like these companies have a way of screwing over us customers when it comes to warranties.
Honestly, I don't think I'll be purchasing another Goodman product again. I'd rather spend a few more bucks on a better product that's going to last me longer and come with a better warranty. It's just really sad to see companies making cheap, crappy products that don't last like they used to. We complain and give feedback, but it seems like all we can do is watch these companies get richer and richer.
Anyway, if you're thinking about buying a Goodman air or heating unit, just make sure you ask about the warranty and know what you're getting into. It's always better to be safe than sorry, and to spend a little extra money on a product that's going to last you longer in the long run.
Disappointing Experience with Goodman 4 Ton AC Unit: Poor Quality and Customer Service
We recently bought a Goodman 4 Ton AC unit from GOODMAN in October of 2022. Unfortunately, we have been experiencing a lot of issues with it since then. The unit keeps freezing up, the water isn't draining correctly, and we found out that a part on the unit is defective. It's been a frustrating experience dealing with these problems, especially since we spent over $8,000 on two units within 6 months.
Our AC Company has been trying to get in touch with Goodman to resolve these issues, but they keep getting the runaround. It seems like Goodman is using every excuse in the book to avoid replacing the unit. They even hung up on our AC Company before he could finish his conversation with them. This kind of poor customer service is unacceptable, especially when we've spent so much money on their products.
We've been dealing with these issues since October, and it's been a long and frustrating process. We're worried that we'll end up with another big power bill because of all the problems we've been having. We wouldn't recommend buying a Goodman product at all, and we wouldn't even rate them a one. Their customer service is so bad that we suspect they're trying to get out of honoring their warranty coverage.
To make matters worse, we've had to pay out of our pocket to the AC Company to fix the issues with the unit. It's been a huge inconvenience and expense for us. We've even left a bad review on a consumer site to warn others about our experience.
Overall, we're extremely disappointed with our purchase from Goodman. We expected better quality and customer service from a company that specializes in AC units. We hope that they'll take our feedback seriously and work to improve their products and customer service in the future.
Beware of Goodman Manufacturing: A Warning to Potential Buyers
I was one of those people who thought that Goodman Manufacturing was a good choice because of their affordable prices. Despite hearing some negative reviews about them, I decided to take a chance and purchased some of their best equipment in 2015. I got a variable furnace and a 2 Stage 16 seer condenser, and the installation was done by very meticulous installers. I made sure to register the product for the warranty correctly.
However, after 7 years, I can now say that I do not recommend going for a Goodman. Just this June, my condensing unit suddenly stopped working. It turned out that the fan motor failed, and the compressor was going on thermal lockout. To make matters worse, the PCB in the unit also failed. When I tried to get parts for the unit, I was shocked to find out that NOTHING was available! I was left without AC for over 2 weeks in the middle of 90+ degree weather. This is completely unacceptable!
I don't care about the supply chain issues that Goodman Manufacturing may be facing. What I care about is that they don't stand by their product. If a customer buys a top-of-the-line unit with a warranty, they should come out and replace the condenser if they can't get parts. All I wanted was for them to honor the warranty, but they did not. I warn anyone who is considering a Goodman to beware!
Disappointing Experience with Goodman Manufacturing: Broken Furnace and Unhelpful Customer Service
I am writing this review to share my negative experience with Goodman Manufacturing. I am a dissatisfied customer who purchased a Goodman furnace, which unfortunately broke down after only two years of usage. This was incredibly disappointing, and I was hoping that the technicians sent by Goodman would be able to fix the issue.
However, I was disappointed to find that the technicians were entirely useless in solving the problem that started in September 2022. Despite paying over $500 for their services, there has been no solution provided, leaving me and my family in the cold. This has been a frustrating experience, and I am disappointed that Goodman has not been able to provide a solution.
Adding to my frustration, the Goodman customer service staff has been incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to listen to my concerns. I have asked for parts to be shipped, but they have refused to listen to my request, making me feel like they do not care about their customers' satisfaction. This has been a disappointing experience, and I am disappointed that Goodman has not been able to provide a solution.
As a result of this negative experience, I can confidently say that I will never buy any Goodman products again, and I cannot recommend anyone to use them. It is incredibly disappointing that a company that claims to provide high-quality products and services has failed to deliver on their promises, leaving customers like me to suffer the consequences.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a reliable furnace brand, I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere, as my experience with Goodman has left me feeling disappointed, frustrated, and out of pocket. I hope that Goodman will take steps to improve their products and services so that other customers do not have to go through the same negative experience that I have had.
Goodman HVAC Equipment: A Contractor's Perspective on Quality and Warranty
I'm an HVAC contractor and I've been in the business for 13 years. In all those years, I've only installed Goodman brand equipment. I've done hundreds of installs and only had to file warranty claims 5 times. That's a pretty good track record if you ask me. I've had to replace (2) blower motors, (1) inducer motor, (1) compressor, and (1) coil. The compressor failure was just a fluke, one in 5,000 that failed from the factory in 2 days. But I replaced it for the customer at no charge and 5 years later, it's still working great.
To the person who had 5 failed coils, that's just impossible. It's highly unlikely that 4 coils would fail on the same unit like that. The installer should have checked and replaced the Schroeder valves on the outdoor unit for approximately $5. Chances are, that would have stopped the refrigerant from leaking. I've seen it too many times to count where companies assume the leak is coil related. As for those of you who had to pay for labor when you thought it should be warranty related, you need to find a different contractor. I back all my work with a 10-year labor warranty and I register all the products I install for the customer. I even send them the registration certificate. Why would I give a 10-year labor warranty on junk products? I wouldn't be in business for very long if that were the case.
I've never had a problem getting warranty exchanges on the 5 items I've had to replace in 13 years. The reason I can back my work for 10 years while using Goodman equipment is because I install it correctly. My advice to those of you who have had bad experiences is to find a new contractor, not a new brand. The brand doesn't mean anything if the installer is incompetent. I've seen Trane, Lennox, Bryant, and other brands fail in under 5 years because of incompetent installers. So, do your research and find a contractor who knows what they're doing.
Goodman AC Unit Review: Premature Compressor Failure and Warranty Issues
I replaced my old AC condensing unit with a GSC*** unit from Goodman back in 2015. Unfortunately, the compressor went out this past weekend on 7/22/22. I was quite upset that the compressor failed prematurely, as most compressors have a lifespan of over 10 years. However, I thought it was covered by a 10-year warranty, only to find out that the 10-year warranty offered to registered products, which is not a requirement for California residents according to the Goodman website, was only a five-year warranty. This made me even more upset.
What made me even angrier was not the fact that the compressor failed, but that the cost to replace it is almost as much as the overall cost of the complete compressor unit, including installation, back in 2015. Thanks to COVID and manufacturers who took advantage of the pandemic to raise prices, I am now stuck with a $2,500 repair bill that I cannot afford to pay. However, I have no choice but to pay it, as it is just too hot not to have the AC running.
If you are on a budget and thinking about buying a Goodman, here are my thoughts:
1) Take the time to register your product online to get the 10-year warranty. Do it yourself, as the installer will not do it for you, even if he says he will.
2) California residents should also take the time to register online, as Goodman will only honor a 10-year warranty if the product is registered online, based on my experience.
3) Put money aside each month for AC repairs. Goodman products seem to be lower tier and will require repairs sooner than other products.
4) Take the time to research other products and options. Looking back, I should have replaced the complete system in 2015. It would have cost at least 30-40% cheaper than now, I would have been able to finance it at a low APR rate, and I would not be in the pickle I am in now.
I hope this review helps you make an informed decision.
Goodman Manufacturing Stands Behind Their Products: A Positive Review
Goodman Manufacturing is an HVAC company that has been the subject of some negative reviews. I was hesitant to use their services when my Amana Central Air Conditioner broke down after only four years of use (less than two months per year in Canada). The fan motor kept overheating and shutting down, which could be dangerous if left unnoticed for too long.
I contacted my local HVAC service company and ordered a replacement fan motor. The technician came the next day and replaced the motor, but it overheated and shut down again after only twenty minutes. This happened with the second replacement motor as well. Frustrated, I asked if there was an alternative motor available, and the technician found a universal motor designed for AC units.
I contacted Goodman (the manufacturer of Amana) as my fan motor had a five-year warranty with an additional five years if registered on their website. They questioned me about the service company and where the parts were ordered from. Luckily, the defective replacement fan motors had QR codes on their labels that authenticated them as genuine Goodman parts.
My technician warned me that Goodman probably wouldn't cover the labor cost, but I was pleasantly surprised when they not only reimbursed me for the upgraded fan motor but also the labor charges due to the defective parts.
Despite some negative reviews, I believe that manufacturers should stand behind their products, regardless of their price point. In this case, Goodman did just that.

Goodman HVAC
I bought a new Goodman Air system in 2021. In 2022 I had to spend $1200 on repairs to the unit. This year in May 2023 it quit working. I had Brooks Heat and Air do an estimate on repair cost. They charged me $320 since the freon had leaked out to fill it and find the leaks. Both coils were leaking so they ordered the parts which were under warranty. It took 5 weeks before they arrived. I had to spend $2300 for the installation which the warranty didn''t cover. After the install the unit still didn't work. The compressor wouldn't work. Ordered the compressor which was going to cost me an additional $800 in labor to fix. Meanwhile I had to buy 3 window units to cool my home which cost me almost $1000. After waiting for almost three weeks for the compressor my contractor was told it was another 6 weeks out. It was also going to cost me another $400 in labor because they wanted me to go with a different compressor. So as of today if I go that route I would be into the unit $5500 for a $4000 dollar unit. This unit shoud have been totally replaced but they told my contractor they wouldn't do that. Help me out of with this ripoff situation. Also had to pay shipping for warranty parts.
Desired outcome: I think a partial refund for the labor would be appropriate. I was without air from May 2 until July 27 and because of health conditions it has been pathetic.
Goodman heat pump
Purchased a Goodman heat pump system 5/26/2023, had the system installed and running on 6/15/2023. The outside unit locked up after running for 9 days, not running full time but off and on. Contacted Goodman on the warranty, they will send a new compressor, no filter which needs to be changed because of compressor failure, other parts that are bad capacitor, 410 a freon, pkus the cost of having all this done. It's been over 2 weeks, still waiting on parts, it was 90 degrees in the home Friday, disabled and no place to go, they don't care!
Desired outcome: To have them make good on a system that was manufactured in February 2023
Poor Quality and Customer Service from Goodman Manufacturing
I recently bought two Goodman heaters and I have to say that I am not impressed with the quality of their products. One of the heaters I installed in my house ended up flooding my upstairs shortly after I had new carpets installed. I was shocked to find out that the unit was only two years old and a gasket in the unit that collects condensation had gone bad.
When I called Goodman to report the issue, I was informed that since I had an independent handyman install the unit, it voided all warranties. I was taken aback by this response as I believed that installing the unit to the ducting had nothing to do with the internal components. However, the customer service representative I spoke to was adamant that it didn't matter and that I was out of luck.
To make matters worse, I was also informed that the warranty only covers parts and that I should have purchased a separate warranty for labor. I found this to be incredibly frustrating as it seemed like Goodman was just trying to find a way not to stand behind their product.
Overall, I am disappointed with my experience with Goodman Manufacturing. I expected better quality and customer service from a company that specializes in heating and cooling products. I would not recommend their products to anyone and will be looking for a different brand for my future heating and cooling needs.

Goodman Manufacturing's Warranty Falls Short: Beware of Hidden Labor Costs and Poor Customer Service
I purchased an AC/HVAC unit from Goodman Manufacturing in December of 2014 with the promise of a 10-year warranty. However, I was disappointed to learn that the warranty only covers parts and not labor. This was not made clear to me at the time of purchase.
Last year in May of 2019, the compressor in my unit went out. Goodman Manufacturing provided me with a replacement part, but unfortunately, it went out barely a year later. Now, I am facing the prospect of having to pay for labor again on a faulty replacement part. To make matters worse, they are claiming that they never received my warranty information and that it is not valid.
I reached out to their customer service department for assistance, but I was met with rudeness and they even hung up on me. As if that wasn't bad enough, I am currently recovering from spinal surgery and am having to endure sweltering 95-degree temperatures with no resolution in sight.
I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a Goodman product to run as far as they can in the opposite direction. After doing some research, I have discovered that this is a common issue with this company. It is disappointing to see a company that claims to stand behind their products treat their customers in such a manner.
Goodman Manufacturing's Lack of Responsibility: A Frustrating Experience
I had a unit from Goodman Manufacturing when I first bought my place, but it was dead within a year of purchase. This happened within 8 years of installation. I decided to get a new unit from Goodman, but unfortunately, it failed within the first year. Living in Southern California, where the temperature can reach 100 degrees, I was left with no AC. To make matters worse, there were no parts available in a major metropolitan area.
When I spoke to the general manager at Goodman, I was given a copout answer. They said that they couldn't keep parts there because it wasn't good business. In other words, they hold their parts in Texas and dole them out as needed to all of the hotter locations in the US. They don't ramp up production on the parts to make sure every region has them.
It's frustrating to have a product fail so quickly, especially when you live in an area where you rely on it heavily. I wish Goodman Manufacturing would take responsibility for their products and make sure that they are available to everyone who needs them. It's not fair to leave customers without AC in the middle of a heatwave.
Disappointing Experience with Goodman Manufacturing: Faulty Equipment and Poor Customer Service
We have been using a 5 ton unit from Goodman Manufacturing for less than 5 years now. Unfortunately, we have had some issues with the compressor core failing twice. The first time it failed was when the unit was only 2 years old. We were able to get a replacement core from Goodman, but unfortunately, that replacement core failed after only 2 more years of use. We have been waiting for a replacement part for 5 weeks now, and we still haven't received it. We live in southwest Florida, so not having air conditioning during the summer months is unbearable.
Our service company has been waiting for 3 replacement cores from Goodman, but they have yet to receive them. It's frustrating because we paid good money for this equipment, and it seems like it's failing every 2 years. We thought we were covered by the warranty, but it's been a nightmare trying to get a replacement part. When we talk to Goodman, they tell us how to trace the part order, but they can't seem to make the parts available.
We are extremely disappointed with Goodman Manufacturing. Their equipment is junk, and we would advise anyone to avoid them at all costs. It's not worth the hassle and frustration of dealing with their faulty equipment and lack of customer service. We hope that they can improve their products and services in the future, but for now, we will be looking for a different company to provide us with reliable air conditioning.
Bad Experience with Goodman Manufacturing: False Warranty and Rude Customer Service
I gotta tell you, I had a pretty bad experience with Goodman Manufacturing. Their AC condenser coil only lasted me 5 years, and their so-called "warranty" was completely useless. I mean, come on, if they had just replaced the whole condenser, it would have been okay. But no, they only wanted to warranty and replace the coil itself. What they don't tell you is that replacing a coil is a lot more expensive than just buying a new condenser and having it installed. That's a pretty sneaky way to trick consumers with a false warranty.
So, I called Goodman directly to complain about it, and let me tell you, the customer service rep I spoke to was the rudest person I've talked to in a long time. I mean, I get it, they probably deal with a lot of complaints, but still, there's no excuse for being so rude to a customer.
Overall, I would say that if you're thinking about buying an HVAC unit, you should probably look elsewhere. Goodman definitely isn't good, man.
Goodman MSS9 Furnace: Terrible Quality and Useless Warranty
I bought a Goodman MSS9 furnace from an authorized dealer in 2017. The dealer told me that the unit was of high quality and came with a 10-year warranty. However, in the last 4 months, the furnace has been struggling to keep the house warm. Despite having 5 different companies look at it, including the authorized dealer, no one has been able to fix it. Each time I call for service, it costs me a lot of money. Last night, the furnace tried to start for 15 hours straight while the temperature in the house dropped to 50 degrees. It's still winter here in northern Wisconsin, and I have a stroke victim in the house who needs to be kept warm.
The customer service line is a joke. They don't seem to care about my situation, and the warranty is useless. The service I've received has been terrible. I'm extremely disappointed with the unit, and I feel like I've wasted my money. The furnace is garbage, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Mixed Review of Goodman Heat Pump: Reliable but Poor Workmanship Causes Issues
The Goodman heat pump unit has been mostly reliable for me, but it did have some issues with bad parts that caused delays during installation. After a few years of use, it stopped working due to a loss of freon. Upon opening the main unit, I discovered that two pipes were touching each other at right angles, causing vibrations that wore a hole into one of them. While it was an easy fix to braze a patch onto the pipe, it cost me around $300 and caused a few uncomfortably hot days. This issue was clearly due to poor workmanship, as there was plenty of space for the pipes and no reason for them to be so close together.
I spoke with a local reseller who admitted that they had encountered a dozen or more units with the same issue. In fact, I found the same pictures I had taken posted on another review site. It's clear that Goodman Manufacturing has poor quality control, and I will not be purchasing any of their products in the future.
Despite these issues, I have to say that the Goodman heat pump unit has generally been reliable. It's just a shame that poor workmanship caused such a significant problem. If you're considering purchasing a Goodman product, I would advise you to proceed with caution and do your research before making a decision.
Faulty Furnace: A Warning to Potential Buyers
I had our furnace installed way back in 2004, and since then, we've had to replace the heat exchanger thrice. I'm really wondering how you could let a unit like this hit the market, where people's lives are at stake. If it wasn't for an air conditioning technician who came to check out our system for a possible installation of air, we would have never known. He shut the system down immediately due to the fear of carbon dioxide poisoning. I'm disabled and have limited income, and now I have to spend $600.00 to repair the unit, which puts me in a financial setback. After saving up for so long to get air conditioning, I now have to fix a piece of junk or try to get the rest of the money to buy a new furnace. It seems like my dream of having air conditioning will never come true.
Why don't you folks call back your GMNT/100-4 units before it kills someone? It's really scary to think that people's lives are at risk because of a faulty product. I hope you take this seriously and do something about it before it's too late.
Goodman Manufacturing Warranty Misrepresentation: A Disappointing Experience
I was pretty satisfied with my A/C purchase from Goodman Manufacturing, but that all changed when my unit broke down and I had to use the warranty. They claim to have the best warranty in the business, but the truth is that they only cover the part. Even though the part broke down less than halfway through the warranty period, it was pretty much open-ended for the contractor to charge me whatever they wanted to make the necessary repairs.
To be honest, my home warranty is better than this. I was really disappointed with the warranty misrepresentation. It seems like people aren't unhappy with the service they provide, but they're sickened by the warranty misrepresentation. I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase from Goodman or Lennox. Their warranties are just a puff of smoke.
It's really frustrating when you think you're getting a great warranty, only to find out that it's not what it seems. I wish Goodman Manufacturing would be more upfront about their warranty coverage. It would save a lot of people a lot of headaches.
Disappointed with Goodman System: Inefficient and Poor Customer Support
I recently had a Goodman system installed in September of 2021 to replace my old Luxaire system that was 12 years old and had a 15 seer rating. I was excited to have a new, efficient 2-stage system installed, but unfortunately, my experience with Goodman has been highly inefficient. Despite having the same average temperatures as my old system, my new Goodman system used over 900 kwH more in the past month alone.
I tried contacting Goodman directly for help because my HVAC contractor is so busy and not specifically a Goodman dealer, but all I received were form letter responses. It's frustrating to have a contact page that doesn't provide any useful information. I was hoping to get a distributor name or someone who truly knows how to set up this system, but I was left with no options.
To be honest, I never thought I would say this, but I miss my old Luxaire system. I am so not impressed with Goodman, especially considering that it wasn't even cheap. I read all the reviews on their website, but now I realize what a joke that was. I wish I had done more research before making this purchase.
Heat pump package unit
Purchased two heat pumps three years ago. One unit failed in a few short months. It had to be replaced. The second unit fail recently. They replaced a compressor at a cost to me of $1200 labor. Unit still malfunctioning, now a quote of another $1200 or more to replace more parts. I asked the very rude Goodman/Daikin tech. if it would work correctly after this was all done. He reply was it should. That's $2400 dollars just from me and untold parts from Goodman/Daikin. I paid $3000 for this unit installed. Poor customer service. Don't stand behind their product.
Desired outcome: Replace unit under warranty.

3 ton unit s/n's [protected], [protected], [protected]
Dispute no. 2015155 and 2025920 Original date 12/19/2021
I purchased a 3 ton a/c unit in November 2020. In April 2022 the compressor unit broke down and actually exploded the freon and had to be replaced, in November of 2022 the coil unit in the air handler failed and began leaking and no heat was being generated and had to be replaced and the the fan motor failed in December and needs to be replaced and I am still waiting for the part which they said would take 3-4 weeks to arrive. I had to pay for labor each time a unit is replaced. $1,500 for compressor, $1040 for the coil unit and another $450 for the fan motor. So in less tha 2 years I will have replaced my entire system due to faulty equipment. Also due to waiting for parts I have not been able to use my system fully for 2 months. This would definitely fall under the lemon law if it applied to a/c units. I purchased your unit with full faith in your products. This is unacceptable and most distressing to have to pay to pretty much replace my entire unit. Under these extreme circumstances I request reimbursement of the labor costs I have had to pay due to defective equipment sold to me. I spoke with over two weeks ago to express my dissatisfaction and requested to speak with her manager. She stated a person named Luke would call but it is nearly three weeks and no one has contacted me. I realize I did not have an extended warranty for labor but having to replace an entire system in two years is beyond what would be considered normal wear. I am hopeful Goodman after reviewing my claim will approve my request and help with my costs incurred.
Sincerely,
Richard T. Gargasz

December 21 purchased heat pack system. Piece of garbage and Air Pro Masters that installed it is the worst. Complaints to them and the contractors board get silence. It is NOT quiet! Loudest I have ever heard, does not heat or cool to the floor. Need to turn up TV volume up to 10 points when it goes on and conversation, likewise is voices raised. So disturbing that for months my cats looked up to see what was making all the disturbing noise. Had a 10 year old Rheem before. Should have replaced with like. The average daily temp here is between 95 and 100 degrees. Runs a lot to keep livable temps in the portion of the house.
Desired outcome: Refund of purchase price so I can replace it with a better unit. Or, require a different company to do what is necessary for proper and quiet function.
Terrible product: air conditioning unit
I had a Goodman air conditioner installed. The company that installed it went out of business because the owner died of Covid. The unit has had issues just a few weeks after install. Goodman gave me the name of a company. I called and they were a huge rip off.
I turned my unit on this weekend after winter and all I get is warm air. I called Goodman. They said once the technician comes out the warranty will cover all parts because it is in warranty. He continued to state that if it is a compressor, they would replace the entire unit. This prompted me to ask who covers the cost to install the replaced unit since the original company closed due to the owner dying of Covid? Goodman representative said I would! So I have to pay for installation twice because their original unit is defective? I don’t think so! I’ll sue first! Do NOT BUY ANYTHING GOODMAN
I have a 3 ton HVAC unit, after two years the blower motor went out, The dealer that sold it to me is out of Business after 45 years, so dealing directly with distributor. They said it was back ordered and would take two weeks, why are parts so hard to get and take so long? These are life and death situations, but my dealer swore they were best because of warranty, but just need my parts dang it...
Repeated failure of control board in air handler
Purchased new Amana 2 ton, 16 seer coil, condenser, air handler and thermostat in January 2015. The control board in the air handler has failed 4 times so far and every failure was due to condensation in the unit which fouled up the control board. Every time I have asked Goodman if there were a way to coat the control board in a special silicone spray to protect it during the humid part of the year. The answer is always no. They replace the control board under warranty, but I have to pay labor for every failure and replacement. They do not appear to have any concern about the impact this has on a disabled person on a very limited income. I want a more permanent solution covered under warranty.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of labor costs, permanent solution.
ac unit
I am a new homeowner who had a nice HVAC guy install a brand-new Goodman system in my home (I chose Goodman). The red plastic logo on the outside unit broke off within two months so I simply contacted Goodman to ask for a replacement (it serves their needs well to have free advertising like that) and they flat-out refused after initially telling me it was being sent. What a horrible company. I shudder to think what will happen if/when the unit itself goes out. Already regretting this purchase. Should have gone with another more reputable manufacturer. BTW, this sign is being removed entirely. Nobody needs to know I have a Goodman which is a piece of garbage based on how their corporate headquarters treated me for simply asking for a replacement logo/sign.
warranty
Bought Goodman never again 2 burnt blower motors and now a defective evaporator coil and on top of that my installer said it's all warranted through Goodman for
10 years but now Goodman says they will not warranty the units for 10 years only 5 because a form was not filed within 90 days from install this is bull it's because they are in a class action law suite about having lot and lots of defective coils and so there trying to get out of covering there 10 year warranty on a technicality and because they know there stuff will only last for 5 year and now turning the blame on homeowners for there installing company negligence in not filing there paperwork timely by saying Oh that's the homeowners responsibility to file the warranty paperwork and if the don't we will penalize them for our defective products
Let's face it paperwork or not it should not effect the warranty if there stuff was built rite from the beginning and they felt a 10 year warranty was proper then filing a form should not matter it does not change the MFG date or the install date or the way they make there products
They have not heard the last from me this is just a start
Buy Trane not Goodman and save your self lots of headaches dealing with Goodman's customers service is a joke just a headache
I'm not asking for labor charges or the 10 lbs of Freon that was lost do to there defective coils just to stand behind there 10 year policy and provide the parts to replace there known bad inferior parts for the10 year period they promised
If your looking for Hvac work do your home work ck out the net for all the people having issues with Goodman then buy something else more reliable like American Standard or Trane I wish I did.
