We contracted with Greystone Kitchens in November
We contracted with Greystone Kitchens in November . They finally started the project in February . They won't finish the project and don't respond to our requests.
A renovation job started in February was supposed to be done in 6-8 weeks
A renovation job started in February was supposed to be done in 6-8 weeks. We really need your help to finish this work. It's been seven months now and the work has stopped. I'm not getting clear answers or any answers at all about when it will be finished. I uploaded a detailed complaint (PDF).
We hired Greystone Kitchens in March to redo our kitchen
We hired Greystone Kitchens in March to redo our kitchen. They said it would be 4 weeks to start. They didn't start until June. They told us the project would take 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Now on week 6, no one is showing up to complete the work. We've called, emailed, and went to their office. We are at our wits end. We need our house done. I don't know what else to do.

Contract was signed with Greystone on 2/6 for a Kitchen/Master Bath remodel
Contract was signed with Greystone on 2/6 for a Kitchen/Master Bath remodel. They said it would take about 6-9 weeks, but it wasn't written down so we trusted them. They told us work would start in 4-6 weeks. It's now week 17 and the job is still not done because of scheduling mistakes, no communication, mistakes, and bad quality. They said Demo would start on 4/20, so we rented a storage pod for our stuff at the end of March. Work started the week of 4/20, but then stopped for 2 weeks because City permits weren't approved and Greystone didn't tell us. We tried reaching out to them many times for a solution, but got nothing. We're about 80% done, but it feels like the project is taking even longer with new excuses every day. Our expectations haven't been met because of more delays, bad customer service, and no transparency. Please help.
We signed a contract on January 30 and gave a deposit of $32,647.00 (half) in order to get our kitchen, master bath, and guest bath
We signed a contract on January 30 and gave a deposit of $32,647.00 (half) in order to get our kitchen, master bath, and guest bath remodeled. After a few reminders, they finally started demolishing on April 19. They said it would take two and a half to three months to finish. We agreed because it would be perfect timing for my spouse's birthday, our anniversary, our grandchild's birthday, our summer family time, and reunion. Today is July 26, and our kitchen still doesn't have all the cabinet doors. The team made holes in them and put the bathroom handles on, so they had to take them out and send them for repairs (it's been five weeks and still no doors). The crown molding is also not done yet. I emailed *** (the owner) on July 13 and followed up on July 16, but still no response. They won't give us a completion date. My spouse and I have seen the schedule change over and over for the worse. Please help us get this finished.
I signed a contract for a renovation on 12/3, and the original price was $54,100
I signed a contract for a renovation on 12/3, and the original price was $54,100. Since then, there have been some changes and the price went up to around $68,929.46. I am owed some refund money for items I bought that were supposed to be covered in the contract. So far, I have paid $66,825. I still owe about 2% of the balance, which is around $2k. They sent me a letter saying they might file a lien this month. On December 31, I responded to an invoice stating that I don't have to pay the final invoice until they complete the project in my house and I am satisfied. There are still some things they need to fix, like a leak issue in my hall shower and installing a kitchen cabinet door that they lost and I paid to have redone (they owe me reimbursement). They also need to touch up a cabinet that they painted, but another painter splattered white paint on it when they were painting the baseboard by the cabinet. They need to repaint the frame of the master bath door entrance, which they recently had to redo because the previous worker was being aggressive (I have a video of it). They also need to repaint the frame of the pocket door in my parent's bathroom because it fell off the rail and trapped my mom inside until I opened the door for her. The main issue here is that they keep harassing me to make the final payment, even though I have told them I won't do it until they finish the project. I want them to stop bothering me about the final payment and not put a lien on my house. I have told them that I will gladly pay them once the job is complete and I am satisfied. I have attached a part of the contract that states the responsibilities of the contractor, specifically letter (d), which they have not fulfilled. They asked me to send them a final punch list, and they only completed 2 or 3 items on it yesterday.
On September 1, I gave a deposit of 50% for a kitchen renovation
On September 1, I gave a deposit of 50% for a kitchen renovation. I chose cabinets and countertops after they measured and designed my home. From September to December, I continued to select small items and make adjustments to the design. There is no project manager overseeing the entire job, only department managers with their own responsibilities. Despite repeatedly asking, I couldn't get any answers about the timeline or what comes next. I expressed my frustration to multiple departments, but received no response until I made the final hardware selections. I thought, "Great, what's next?" Still no response. Instead, a few days later, I received an electronic bill for the quartz I chose in September. I had been paying for upgrades every time I made changes, so I was surprised by this. I spoke with someone named *** and she said the manager would contact me. However, I didn't hear from anyone for over a week. Then, *** called and asked which selections of overage I wanted to choose. The change order would cost either *** or *** for my original choice. There was no empathy, understanding, or concern for my questions. They only seemed interested in their department's responsibilities and collecting money. What's going on here? Is this how everyone is treated? There's been no conversation, no project manager, and the general manager isn't managing. I've already paid $18,678 and $9000 for the appliances, but no one seems to care about anything except collecting money. If I cancel, they say it will cost me 20% of the total project. I'm seeking a resolution here.
1. There has been NO project management by Greystone
1. There has been NO project management by Greystone. Two visits by project managers early in the process and one visit at the end by the lead sales person. This project has been going on for over a year.
2. Not only has there been no project management, the contact person has been changed numerous times and at this point I’m not even sure who we are supposed to contact. This has lead to many misunderstandings with the project and has made communication very hard. It ever got to the point where we started sending our messages and emails to the owner to get responses.
3. Anytime something would go wrong, numerous complaints about the floor contractor, issue with water pressure now on outside spigots, insufficient preparation of walls prior to painting, there are numerous more issues that could be listed that go beyond the normal construction issues. COVID was what we got when issues were brought up. Because of COVID there were problems with getting good people.
4. The last site visit was on Aug 27 and all issues were gone over to take care of the final issues.
5. The last day that a worker was here was on Sep 22 when the chipped sink was replaced. I sent an message notifying Greystone that the floor right in front of the sink they had replaced was damaged and that we had not heard about the water pressure issue.
6. Received no message back, however on Oct 8 I was called by Greystone that final payment was expected and got a message that the water pressure was not anything that was done by them and that the floor issue would not be taken care of prior to final payment.
7. Received notification of a lien to be placed on our home. I do not believe the project is done, especially the floor issue in the guest bath, where the damage is where work was done.
I signed up with Greystone Kitchens on April 3, and they promised to finish the work by mid-June
I signed up with Greystone Kitchens on April 3, and they promised to finish the work by mid-June. But after reading other complaints on ComplaintsBoard.com, it's clear that they knew mid-June was never possible. The job included a new master shower, a new cabinet in the master bath, guest bath, and a new kitchen pantry cabinet. They were also supposed to restain all the cabinets in the house to a slightly warmer color, repaint the entire house, and install a gas line for a new gas range. However, after we signed the contract and paid half the amount, the delays and excuses started. Nothing was done correctly the first time. As of March 31, 2022, the work is still not completed.
Our main complaint is the damage they allowed to happen to our kitchen cabinets. They subcontracted the work to River City Jax, a company that wasn't even incorporated until July 21. They didn't start the staining until mid-September. From the very first day they attempted to stain our cabinets, we called to complain and requested a new contractor. The cabinets were not sanded before applying the stain, so they looked terrible. It was clear that they had no real experience. But our complaints were ignored, and we were told they had no one else to do the job. They gave River City Jax four attempts, which only resulted in doors covered in overspray that can't be removed. In a meeting, they agreed to have the cabinets painted after discussing it with their in-house restainer (even though they had previously claimed they had no one). You can find more details in the supporting information.
They initially said we would get new cabinets, but now they're saying they will only address the issues that need correcting. However, nothing is in writing. The following still needs to be addressed: the kitchen cabinet paint is already cracking, crown molding is missing, hardware in the master bath is missing on two out of three drawers, there is stain in the kitchen floor grout and backsplash, stain in the interior of the cabinets, yellowing of the marble on the shower seat, and a bad interior paint job with drips everywhere. The baseboards and some doors were not painted, and there is paint on every door handle. The kitchen was never primed, so the stain is bleeding through, and there is paint on the floors. Please refer to the document for additional items. I really need help with this.
