frustrating experience
Don't tell me the wait is 20 minutes...and 90 minutes later I'm still sitting there waiting! Needless to say, I walked out! Was I the idiot for waiting so long?
I can understand that those who have appointments have priority perhaps but no one came to address those of us sitting there and waiting patiently and quietly. They saw us sitting there. Staff even walked by us a few times. Not a word.
Perhaps I should've made a stink at the store but I was too pissed to say anything which is so not like me!
So much for their "just walk in" mantra.
waited one hour for stylist after making an appointment
After making an appointment last week for 1030AM today May 25, 2010, I had to wait one hour before stylist Parwin took me. I walked into the shop 3 minutes before 1030 and Parwin had just started with highlights on another customer. It was obvious she had just started as she only had one foil in her hair. Both Parwin and the manager April said that they are supposed to take customers when they walk in. Well I'll tell you what a good business company would have done - they would have at least waited until the appointment time and if the customer did not show up on time, then take another customer. Both Parwin and the manager April said it is company policy to take customers when they walk in and Parwin said "we are pressured by management to to take walk ins." . In my opinion, this is poor company practice especially since there were two other stylists there doing nothing.
I have my hair colored about every five weeks and highlights every two months. I have spent a lot of money at Hair Cuttury and do not appreciate the way I was treated today. Salon 157 will not have another chance to treat me so shabbly.
Totally agree 100% re: Parwin blowing you off for another walk-in customer - she's done that to me also. I used to have her do my highlights - she's a wonderful person and I was satisfied w/my color. HOWEVER, the last time I had an appt. w/her for 11:00am on a Sunday morning, I waited a half hour and she still hadn't come to work. I was pissed at the waste of my time, so I left and have not had her do my hair since.
This past week I received what was, perhaps, the WORST haircut (if you can call it that) I've ever gotten in my life from another woman in that shop (#57) - the older woman, hardly speaks English, never smiles, works in first space on the right. I don't think she's ever even cut a female's hair before, I've only seen her cutting males' hair when I've been there. Anyway, I only needed a trim off the ends and oh boy - WHAT A FRIGGIN' IDIOT! She DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO HOLD THE SCISSORS! DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT 'NO LAYERS' MEANS (after I emphatically explained NO layers, she says "so you want layers?") WAS AFRAID TO EVEN CUT MY DAMN HAIR! I had to show her how to cut the ends - WTF? I'M NOT A HAIR DRESSER. Walked out of there with my hair no different than when I walked in (except she managed to trim one side shorter than the other.) This was not the first lousy haircut I've gotten from a Hair Cuttery, but I'll tell ya what - I've finally learned my lesson...you DO get what you pay for - NO MORE HAIR CUTTERY FOR ME, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
beware!!!
Please beware before you go to this location. The person cutting my hair butchered my hair. I explained that I wanted a #4 on the sides, blended in, and just a trim with scissors on the top. The cutter (I refuse to call her a stylist) proceeded to clip the back of my head with a #2. By the time she got around to the sides and I could see the length, it was too late. The only response I got from the cutter, I think her name was Luz, was "you don't have to pay. My first thought was...no kidding! When I asked her is she was going to blend it in she stated "that she had already done that". My head looked like my 5 year old put a bowl on my head a trimmed around the edges. I was furious. There was no remorse or attempt by The Hair Cuttery to make my hair look somewhat presentable. I refused to leave the store until I received all of their names, the managers name, and the corporate number. I never got any of that information! The called the police and I was escorted out. My advice! Pay the extra $5 and go to Indulge Salon in the next shopping center (where I would have gone if they were open on Mondays) or Great clips near the Publix. It is my hope that this store fails miserably and eventually closes it's doors. I can only hope that I am there on that final day. Don't make the same mistake as me. Go somewhere else.

The days of the customer is always right are obviously long gone. Sadly, I've found from personal experience that complaining doesn't do one bit of good. Nowdays, the corporate headquarters don't care about individual customers, they are only interested in their bottom line - profits. If more people aren't complaining, then those customers who are unhappy don't matter.
cant cut hair - bottom line!!!
Took my son there recently to get a trim by Ali. When I got a good look at it, I saw that the neckline area was all uneven. We then proceeded to take my son elsewhere to have a "real" haircut to fix her mess!. Though one stylist will not dog out another, all she said was "it was all uneven" as were my observations.
If you cannot cut hair evenly you need to have your scissors, clippers and any thing else that cuts taken away from you...unbelievable that people like this even get a license.

beware
Have had bad hair days all the time after having gotten my hair cut at Hair Cuttery; went to one and got a bad cut and the next girl who did my hair said she thought the girl played a joke on me the haircut was so terrible; next, asked the girl for blonde hair and came out a redhead; next got a haircut and she didn't even so much as brush the old hair off my shoulders; then this final and last time, my hair was about 3/4 inch longer on the right than the left not to mention all the lengths were very uneven...husband has gone there and never satisfied either...these events happened at 5 different Hair cuttery locations...public beware!

very disappointed
I was just at the brand new Hair Cuttery located at the Crossing at Lisbon. Store # 3643, where I have been for the past 2 hours. Anyhow, I went in there at 11:30am and asked for a kid cut and an adult cut & eyebrow wax. I was told it would be an hour and a half wait. Ok, no problem. So we waited. Well, my son was called up to get his haircut and it looks amazing! Nycole K did a great job! Impressed. However, she then proceeded to ring me up. So I inquired as to why I hadn't been called upon for my haircut & eyebrows and she told me that my name wasn't on the list! Holy cow! I have waited 2 hours and left disappointed because I didn't get what I went in there for! I told her I would be back tomorrow, but I am very upset, so I will be going elsewhere to get my hair done. Not quite sure how my name could be left off the list (list is in the computer) and even so, have another salon tech take care of me, but no. Just told, "oh, sorry, your name's not on the list" wasn't what I was expecting from a place that should want business from consumers; especially since it's a new place. They should have never let me walk out the door disapointed.

employee
Keep in mind...this was ayear ago and I have since left...however, the same thing is happening ALL THE TIME to other employees and it makes me sick. I was an employee for haircuttery for 6 years. Myself and a fellow employee were pulled to the back, bullied and written up for situations they felt "suspicious". Such things as...two occasions of receiving $10 tips. Really, they never received $10 tips? Making a mistake once or twice w/ changing the codes. Really? They never hit 100 instead of code 101? Let me tell you again, these were very RARE occasions of very HONEST mistake from 2 very hardworking, honest and loyal employees! THEY HAD PLANNED TO FIRE US OVER THIS! OH YES, and there's the 'magical man' on the phone, you must speak to, from supposed "loss prevention" from another state about all of this. He states there are "nanny cams" or "hidden cameras" in the store that spot these occurences...or the man in the car outside that notes all haircuts coming in and out of the salon. Really? The company is closing stores all over the country but they have people to pay to do this ridiculous job? The maintenance man they hired for us couldn't eve fix a sink, but they got all of this nonsense? HAIRCUTTERY TREATS THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE IDIOTS WITH NO RESPECT AND BULLY THEM OUT OF A JOB. They lie and they DISGUST ME! For you carrying out these deeds in loss prevention to make a buck...you are just as horrible as the man/family that owns this company and allows this to happen (DENNIS RATNER). I only hope this gets out to others who have had the same experience and something is done about it...in court! YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO YOUR EMPLOYEES AND GET AWAY WITH IT!

I agree with everything said, this company is so corrupt in their business practices that I would love to know how many times they have been sued! My story is a long one but basically started at asst. leader because it's the only thing they had open, I have over 24 years experience in management. Long story short the nightmare of a manager they hired when I turned it down left I decided to just take the position to save ourselves from another psychopath. of course I had to be put on a month action plan but when u r hired from the outside your fully trained and making managers pay right off the bat. Basically this manager did anything she wanted, charged what she wanted, got flagged in a audit for giving out wrong coupons, charged a customer for servives she didn't by 70, 00 and the company had to pay her back, have her friends come in and say they are family and pocket the money, all of this was reported to our boss, NOTHING WAS DONE! Why? because she made stylist clock out if they werent busy and sit there at the salon until someone came in and then they clocked back in and did their hair, and then clocked back out. WHY? so the company didn't have to pay them hourly wage, as managers we got in trouble if we had stylist on the non commission list for 2 pay periods. Well needless to say when I took over and my boss realized that I was not making my stylist clock out, why? because its against the law! Out of the blue one day I got fired! I made 2 mistakes, I applied a coupon for the incorrect service, and after working 2 hours over on a Sunday my partner closed out the drawer and left, and right before I put my stuff away my daughter had her boyfriend there and I lined out his forehead, took me 2 seconds, then I realized the drawer was closed and just thought I'll put in a couple bucks tommorrow, he didn't pay me, so I did not benefit from either of these! So 21/2 years of working my butt off with no asst. leader, no key holders, working on my days off and this is how they thank me. This clocking out thing is pretty much a un-spoken rule, and it's company wide. I would love to hear from anyone that had any issues like this, cause I'm pretty much gonna try to sue them!
I know how Chicagoland feels! I coul milk moneydn't agree with her more. They pride themselves on HC values and the rules only apply to some but not everyone. I guess that's how they got as far as they did by being a bully, kind of reminds you of the kid in school that bullies you for your milk money or your last cup cake. How many past employees have been tormented by bullies like this in the work place, I, myself have seen this SL in action, bringing people to tears! WHAT A SHAME TO GIVE THEM POWER111 THEY SHOUL.D BE DEMOTED1111111111111111111
limiting employees of their rights
i've been going to my same stylist for 5 years but just recently left the hair cuttery that she was working for, she is a good person, great stylist and i consider her my friend, but when i witnessed and found out how over worked and underpaid she was there and how unfair she was being treated i decided to never go back to any haircuttery. according to some of the things she has told me, the Ratner company who owns haircuttery is truly not concerned about the well being and moral of their employees. it is basically a "sweat shop" there is no benefits for their employees and harsh treatment and games that these managers play on the employees and clientel. i really hope that people can understand why these people look so miserable at their job. THEY ARE BEING TREATED LIKE DIRT by their manager and corporation. and in this economy there is no where for them to go even though my friend wants to leave there is not alot of salons that are hiring and busy. they are also forced to take services they are uncomfortable preforming or their is the threat of them losing their jobs. they cannot refuse any client or pass them off to a "more experienced stylist" There for that is why there are many bad experiences at Hair Cutteries because the stylist does not have a choice under their managment. They HAVE to do your hair whether their comfortable or not and the managment restrains them of honesty, calling it "discrimination" Wouldnt you rather have someone be honest and not jack up your hair? Or would you want someone to cut your hair whos been working 8hours and have not even been able to take a break to drink some water? This is not an exaggeration, i've seen it my friend/stylist has been through it, and im done going their!

I currently work for a Haircuttery and have been doing hair a very long time. I've worked in different types of salons and I must say at least where I am it is the worst management I've ever seen and I have never come across such immaturity. The policies said to follow are a joke. When u don't meet certain requirements as for your production you get written up. Tell me if ur job is slow and no one is coming in how can u do that? Asking that question a lot never seems to get a true response. Your expected to pull customers out of thin air. I agree with one of the comments made about they simply have no loyalty to their long time employees. U are simply a number and told you are easily replaced. As a corporation these policies are supposed to be followed and the same at every Haircuttery but you will find each one has their own set of rules and what they want to do. A very do as I say and not as I do. Interestingly I know someone who is building a case against them. They have been harassed, discriminated against and is suffering emotional and mental breakdown because of the way they are treated. Also even if this case was not to be won for all u gals and guys working for them you do have a choice one thing I have learned from this person you may not win. It you can take your story to all your news channels and they would be happy to tell it for you. They worry about bad internet reviews wait till their blasted on TV
You took the words right out of my mouth I worked for a hair Cuttery in two locations the last one was the one that was so freaking ridiculous I got fired for taking a lunch break but thankfully I did because when they closed the girls never got their pay at least I got my pay and everything that was owed to me and I was told they were closing not to tell the girls and I didn’t because the girls were [censored] to me
One of the worst hair beauty saloon, they are trying to be a professional but they are the big [censor] in Germantown area, their all beautician experts just only trying to get tips and stuff they dont care of their customers hairs, most of them they cants understand that what the customers are explaining about the hair style. when they finished the hair cut, after talking shower and drying the hairs brush them, some hair look long and some look very short, they never do the right job, I tried them upto 3 time and everytime they were not friendly, and all of them hair experts dont know about the hair cut at all, I dont know, how they get their license.
I will never recommend anybody to go to Hair Cuttery.
That’s what it’s all about they’re all about the titles they don’t care about their clients they only care about money numbers I’m embarrassed to say that I worked for a company who steals from their employees unbelievable
Bought day before, had receipt, pd with debt card. Non opened product. Tried to return to get refund on card They said No. There is no sign posted anywhere that says No Refunds, only store credit . This is not right nor far, bought for my sons birthday and then found out he did not use it. You tell me why with receipt unopened product that I can not get a refund. I do not know of any store like this. Mt. Dora is a small town and I am from here I tell you want my mouth will never shut up over this I will tell everyone I know thats a promise and most this town sticks together. Believe me I am writing to anyone and everyone with a complaint about this. There is no way this is far to any customer. YOU ONLY KNOW THIS AFTER YOU BUY SOMETHING AND OH GUESS WHAT ITS ON YOUR RECEIPT, AFTER THE FACT . REALLY What a way to ripe off people Loraine Keeler
I worked for the hair Cuttery in two locations I would never work for them again well there’s no more they shut down and filed for Chapter 11 and that stylist was wrong you have I think it’s 30 days to return products it says it right on the damn receipt so shame on her she just didn’t want you to return it, because she’ll lose her commission that’s all that’s about numbers
Ok so this is going to be some what lengthy as it took place over two days. On 10/5 I went to a local Hair cuttery for my first time. The company was recommended by a friend. I wanted a cut and color and ended up getting my eyebrows done as well. The stylist and I discussed what I wanted and I even asked if it was possible to go a shade lighter on my over all color. I guess I should add I was light caramel with blonde highlights. He said it would be hard and suggested I stay the color I was. I was ok with that. So we go through the cut and color process. As I am in the chair and he has finished up rinsing the color from my hair he says he will be right back. He comes back with a bottle and says it is more color because my hair soaked up all the color he originally put in and needed more to blend with the high lights. He put the contents of the bottle on my head left it for a few minutes and then rinsed again. He then started looking through my hair while my head was still in the sink. He then tells me again he will be right back. He leaves and comes back with another bottle of liquid. I honestly can not say if he told me what it was or not I dont remember. He put that on my head and it almost instantly began to burn my scalp. I made comment to him that it was extremely strong smelling and was burning. He left that in for a few minutes and my the time he came back my eyes were watering and the smell was over powering. He rinsed my head and asked if the burning had stopped. It had. He then started to look through my hair again and at one point bent down and whispered " your highlights will be more caramel is that ok" I was ok if the highlights were slightly darker so I said yes its fine. Ok so done with rinse and we are back in the hair. I have long side bangs and asked if he addressed them in the cut because I didnt remember him trimming them. He said no I just cut them in with the rest. So I asked if he ould do it now. He did. Now keep in mind that I am use to my hzir looking datker when its wet so thought nothing of it when I looked in the mirror and saw dark hair. I am a brunnett so thats how it looks wet. Ok so after he touches up the bangs he asked if I would like a light blow dry. My reply was yes please. He xried it z little znd said I dont want to dry it to much because of the humidity and didnt want it to frizz. Again sounded ok with me however when I, ooked again it still looked really dark and should have lightened some even with a light blow dry. I said to him that it looks way to dark his reply was dont worry it will lighten up. Ok. So now I guess I should mention that his mother had been waiting oh about an hour for him and he was getting calls from people he said were his face book friends and who were thinking of coming in. Ok moving on. I paid...$203...I went on my way. It is about a 25 minute drive home. As I am driving home and my hair is beginning to dry it is getting darker and getting a reddish pupleish color to it. Of ourse I started to freak out. I got home and started to cry when I looked in the mirror. I washed it several times in the hopes some would wash out but it didnt. So I went from a caramel to a I dont even know what color it was. Ok next morning...the salon opened at 10 am I was there by ten after ten. The gentlemen who did my hair was at the front desk. I said hello as he looked at me like a deer in headlights. I then said to him, please fix this, I know it isnt right and you know it isnt right. He looks at me for a few seconds and then says " its to dark?" I wont say what I wanted to say. My reply was come on itx like 5 shades darker than what it was. He comes around the desk and starts digging through my hair. I am ofcourse crying again at this point. He asks me to take a seat and says he will be right back. He apparently went to call his manager as one was not in the store. He comes back about ten minutes later and says his supervisor said to wait a week so there wont be damage to the hair. Now keep in mind that I am a 40 year old woman and I work in retail. To me the color would have been ok for a twenty year old not a 40 year old. So zt this point I am thinking I have to walk around for a week with this hair. I decide that answer was unacceptable and I go to another location. I was met by a young lady who I told the whole story to and she szys ok lets see whzt we can do. This salon gives little key fob cards that they can swipe every time you come in so they can see color formulas and what no that were used on you durring previous visits. She looks it up and what do you know there is no formula there. So she calls him. She says he told her everything he did and the colors he used. She showed me. The color he said he used was not the color we discussed nor was it the color on my head. I also told her about the horrible xmelling stuff thzt urned and made my eyes water. She said it sounded like a bleach wash but he said it was toner. When she sent through my hair to check the cut the layers were horrible. There was a 2 inch difference all over my head. Some short some long. She also saw no reason to not re do my hair minus some damage caused from over processing. But he made it sound like my hair would break off or fall out. She did re do it. I did suffer some damage. The shocking thing to me was I was told that when they color the hair is to be dried completely so the color can be seen and that the policy is that if I was unhappy with it that day then they would have redone it and I would not have had to pay. I was not told this policy and was kind of shocked when I was told that I could not get a refund because it was now the following day. After all I had been through not even a free hair cut was offered not that I would have used it because I will never return to them again but it would have been nice to atleast have the offer. The girl did her best to fix it but still it is no where near what I asked for. I am no in the process of trying to get a refund. I will let you all know how it turns out.
I write this, I a perplexed and confused as to why a Hair Cuttery stylist would demean a good tipping customer, who was praising her expertise.
On Friday, 8/2/13, I went to a Hair Cuttery, where I had been frequenting, on and off, for 5 or 6 years. There was a brief interlude, where I met "Cairlen" (name changed, as per advice of counsel, to avoid liability) at a erent styling establishment; and those 5 times, I got the best haircuts of my life. And at "Cairlen's" other salon, when I mentioned that I converted from Hair Cuttery to her location, her comment was that she "WOULD NEVER WORK AT A CHOP-SHOP DUMP, LIKE HAIRCUTTERY". The owner of "Cairlen's establishment smiled, when she heard "Cairlen" say that".
When "Cairlen" and the owner parted ways, I visited her where she worked bussing tables, at an "Italian" restaurant (Liability again. It wasn't an Italian restaurant.)
I offered her $100.00 to cut my hair; and she declined; so, I took my roast pork fried rice and left. The next time that I visited that "Italian" restaurant, I again tried to get "Cairlen" to cut my hair; and, again, she declined.
SO, when I needed a haircut, I visited "Lyndsey" (NOT her real name); and I was shocked to see "Cairlen", who had said that she "WOULD NEVER WORK AT A CHOP-SHOP DUMP, LIKE HAIR CUTTERY". And, "Cairlen" pretended that she didn't know me.
On my way out, I told her that it was nice seeing her again.
Needless to say, since "Cairlen" had done an exemplorary job on my 5 haircuts at her other location, when I tried to make an appointment, I was sort of routed to the district manager Kristin, who said that Hair Cuttery was now only walk-in styling's.
When I went there on Friday morning at 8:45 AM, there were also 2 other women waiting.
After I got inside, one of the waiting women said that I had to stop harassing her daughter, "Cairlen"; and I had no idea as to who she was even referring to, or why she didn't speak a word to me, while we were waiting outside for Hair Cuttery to open.
No idea, that was, until I saw the 3 Lower Providence policemen, who questioned me; and told me that "Cairlen" had told her mom, her employer and the police that I Found out where she had moved to; and that I also found out that she had purchased a new car. AND, that I was stalking her. I'm not sure if that meant at her home or at Hair Cuttery.
I need to say that I couldn't give a rat's butt as to where "Cairlen" lives, nor do I give a "frig" as to what car she had purchased. I even said to the police, that I didn't think that with the salary that I figured that they made at Hair Cuttery, that I was surprised that "Cairlen" could afford a new car.
The police checked out my ID and my CCP; and everything was in order.
The police told me that I wasn't allowed back there again. BUT, "Lyndsey" had been cutting my hair, other than the time that I visited "Cairlen" at her other place. Ya know, the place where she said she "WOULD NEVER WORK AT A CHOP-SHOP DUMP, LIKE HAIR CUTTERY".
I will close with my opening remarks of this saga: I am perplexed and confused as to why a Hair Cuttery stylist would demean a good tipping customer, who was praising her expertise. And other than low self-esteem, I'm I was always nice to her and I constantly praised her styling expertise.
Since I'm not the one pursuing "Cairlen", that means that her ardent fan is still out there seeking her out.
There are 2 people who know deep in their hearts that I did nothing wrong; and they are "Cairlen" and myself. GOD also knows that I did nothing wrong. I wonder what GOD now thinks of "Cairlen"
Oh Well, Tomorrow I'll have some roast pork fried rice at that "Italian" restaurant's all you can eat buffet.
Worst experience ever . Went in to get a color. 5 hours later, 3 toners, and bleach job later, because they made my haor orange, and could not fix. I still had to pay. My scalp is buring, and have had a very bad headace sinve that nigjt. 3 days of burinh, and a headace. On top of that they also ruined the entire back of my shirt. I will be sssking legal action, as my docter confirmed the burns were second degree, and headaces were caused by all of the chemicals plaved on my scalp in short period of time. I will never go back amd advise the same for anyone else. There are to many salons to go somewhere where they actually. Be okay with this happening.
I had been to the Hair Cuttery before for a simple trim, and I always came away adequately confident in the work they did. This past hair cut, though, I had not been to a salon in a while, and needed slightly more off than usual. My hair is a little longer in the back than it is in the front, and I asked to maintain as much length as possible, but the incompetent *** working on me cut until it was even, taking some 4 to 5 inches off in the back. What's more, he gave me a blunt fringe without asking, and trimmed in layers that I was trying to grow out. He didn't listen, didn't care about what I as a client wanted, and ultimately ruined my hair because he thought he knew what I wanted more than I did. This is going to take months to grow out and until them, I look like one of the Ramones! Never again, Hair Cuttery, never again!
I have worked for Hair Cuttery for almost 4 years, we've gone through 4 Salon Leaders in the past year. They push you to do services you're not comfortable doing, they push you to sell retail, and make it seem like you're bonuses are easy to make. Which in the the time I've been there they've raised our RPO, and retail numbers which makes it very difficult to get any type of bonus. They expect us to work till we drop, and don't care if you're sick or if a family member is sick. I've had to stay an hour after my shift for meetings that weren't even scheduled, and have been ask to come back to the salon after a doctors appt to have a meeting. Which my doctors appt was after my scheduled time to get off I was still expected to come back. At our salon we've all put in for our vacations well in advance, but seeing a Salon Lead that is no longer there approved them we might not get our request time off. Our employee handbook is nothing but a joke to the company, seeing all the SL, ALS, and RSL all say there is a grey area where they can bend the rules to suit them.
Asked for a trim. Explained I didn't want the style altered; just wanted the bulk trimming out.
Result was a lop-sided cut, one side shorter/thinner than the other.
The back was uneven, a chunk missing, one part noticeably spiked longer.
Paid cash; she put it into the drawer. I noticed she seemed to take too much money out of the drawer.
I later noticed from the receipt that she'd keyed in less than I had given her. She'd effectively "fiddled" the cash register.
She didn't introduce herself but the receipt said "Dana", Westtown Hair Cuttery.
Thank goodness hair grows. I'll know not to let Dana near me again.
I can't tell you how many times I was made to cut my breaks short- or how many times I was expected to work while clocked out. I was always scheduled for like 27-32 hours a week, my pay usually only showed that I worked like 22 hours. you have to attend unpaid required meetings all the time, and you have to stay after work for a half hour off the clock AND follow the manager to the bank after close...ALL off the clock. They give you this "you CAN clock in, but it's going to effect you commission" essentially, you would lose money by being clocked in for those things. I wouldnt send my worst enemy to work for this company. I'm just waiting for a class action to pop up.
Please let me know if there’s any class action suit against this company thank you I got fired because I want to take a lunch break
bad service
i was in need of a hair cut on a fri afternoon 9-11-09 . i called ahead at 6 pm they stated they closed at 8 pm. i arrived at 7pm.i was anxious because i was to start a new job the very next day on the 12 th. when i came in there were 4 stylist in the salon. one promptly called out WERE CLOSED!, befrore i could even get a word out. i was going to pay 20.00 price of cut and the rest a tip.
i had tried to trim my hair myself with a wall trimmer and had wacked it up, i was really dissapointed to say the least.i almost lost it and cussed everyone out, but i held my composure.i stated, (i called ahead !?) she replied no WERE CLOSED! dejected i left mortified that i would be showing up on the job with my hair screwed up. i did.
thanks hair cuttery for such a bad experience. i'll never bring my kids up there again nor will my wife patronize your establishment. i owned a ceramic tile installation business for 10 yrs and awlays treated each one as if they were my only customer. representatives of your salon in jax will only bring negative results for your business here.i don't want any free service or anything. just address the problem, when you give your word . keep it !

bad hair cuts
My husband took our sons, ages 12 and 15, for cuts before school started. The older guy has very short hair, similar to a military cut. My husband had to point out the unevenness of the cut and have the stylist fix it. The younger guy went into the salon with this beautiful "surfer style" sun-bleached blond head of hair. He asked the same stylist to shape the hair and trim it some but to leave the length alone. He came home with what I call a shag. A shag haircut on a 12 year old boy! To add insult to this injury, when my husband questioned about the shampoo that he was being charged for, the stylist said, "Well, we can do it now if you want." When the guys walked into the house I knew something was really wrong when the younger guy had his shirt pulled over his head in an effort to hide his hair. What is wrong with a service industry that can't seem to perform their intended service?! We will never give this company our hard-earned money. Is the damage permanent? Of course not but it sure seems like it in the eyes of a kid.

horrible service and extremely unprofessional
I called this particular hair cuttery on Broward Blvd in Plantation, FL in the Plantation Town Square early in the day to see if I could come in for a spiral perm. I made an appt. for a SPIRAL perm. Went in, got the process done and to make a long story short. AFTER Genny did my perm, which took 4 hours, she casually said, O I gave you a soft perm... I was very confused and a little shocked. I asked her why she gave me a soft perm, she stated she thought it would be better for my hair. I specifically asked for, and repeatedly verbalized to her through out the process that I wanted a spiral perm, with tight, small curls. I look hideous! My hair looks like a mop. There is not one curl in my hair, it looks as if I braided it and took the braids out and just haven't washed it. This is not a perm. A soft perm constitutes as a wave or body perm, it just adds volume, not curls. I called to complain to the manager this morning, she said o yeah, I remember you, you wanted a spiral perm last night, I saw what she was doing and it isn't a spiral. I was astonished that she admitted to not correcting her employee while she messed up my hair. UNBELIEVABLE. I look disgusting, my hair is RUINED and to top it all off, they refuse to take responsibility. I have put in a call to the corporate office, it's been over 12 hours, no response yet. I will fight this until the end and make this VERY public, especially within our community, since this Hair Cuttery is the only one in Plantation, it won't be hard to make it known how horrible they are. The idiot manager's name is Janet and the woman who messed my hair up is Genny.

unjust sexual orientation and firing
on the first day of work, my boss, jammie minor, asked if i ever had a girlfriend, knowing she is checking my sexual orientation. at the time, i let it slide just because i just got a job. this complaint is coming from the address listed above. It seems the manager is biased to her "pet" named doreen. Another is melissa H. The three sided with one another...

Awful, awful experience. I don't mind waiting for service, thats a part of every salon experience. My hair dresser ruined my hair, ruined it. her name is Bethany, she's in her 50's and told me she's be doing hair for over 20 years. I came in for a trim. she took off 4 inches, and left the front of my hair uneven, and dreadful! I asked for long layers and instead I received uneven bangs! On top of it all, she smelled of alcohol and something wasn't quite right with her motor skills, almost as if she was under some kind of influence. I ruled it off, giving her the benefit of the doubt.
I was so wrong! I was so upset I didnt want to spend another minute in there. Luckily the next day I went to another salon--not hair cuttery--never ever again! And another hairdresser was able to somewhat blend in my hacked-up hair cut. Its still not quite right. This is the worst experience I've ever had. I can't understand why she has a job as a hair dresser. I probably would have done a better job doing it myself infront of a mirror at home...that's how bad it was, a nightmare! Now, I have to wait atleast 3 to 4 months before it grows out somewhat and I can get it cut right. The 4 inches that she hacked off will take atleast a year to get back. I am so frustrated, angry and displeased with the service.

Call your state board of cosmotology and report her > she has to have a liscense in you state to work and also register a complaint with the local BBB > I would also be a "friend", even if you are mad, and mail her a note stating your concerns > include a local contact for AAA. If she has parteners or rents space in the a group I would find out whom the owner is: because his/her liscense is also on the line if she burns some one with the chemicals she works with.
scam charges
I'm actually a pretty laid back happy guy. I never really got into my hair until a year ago and on November 2008 I decided to get dreadlocks. Now I went in and met this really nice Hair Stylist named Hollie.
She informed me that dreadlocks start at $65 depending on how long the hair was, my hair was not very long and still isn't now so it was just $65. I was impressed with how nice they looked so I tipped her $10. After that I would come in ever month, sometimes even twice a month to get them touched up.
She charged me $35 and I would always tip her $10 so I became use to bringing $45 with me every visit. Also I would always call her before coming in to make sure she was there. This Hair Cuttery was 30 miles away from me so it was crucial for me to make sure she was there.
On April 3rd of 2009 I called ahead to make and appointment. She didn't answer so I called the salon. The young lady over the phone informed me that all I had to do was walk in before 5pm.
So at 2pm I walked on in and to my surprise she was never there. Not only that but the only other girl that could do dreads wasn't there and I had wasted my time heading up there. I asked why the young lady told me over the phone that I should come in before 5pm and they responded 'we always say yes to get the customers in' Of course I was furious but I do understand business and accepted it because I knew that I didn't mention I needed dreads over the phone I only said I needed to make an appointment with Hollie.
So on April 11th I was in the area and walked in at 10:30 am. I asked if Hollie would be there and they said she'd be there at 11:00am. I said that's fine I just need my dreads touched up and they said it would be $70.
I was thrown back a little. Why would it cost more then when I started? I told them I only pay $35 a visit to touch them up, I didn't even pay $70 to get my dreads started? This lady informed me that the prices went up and now it's $70. I was furious, I called Hollie as I walked off.
Luckily Hollie answered and informed me it would be $45. I did notice that it was $10 more then usual but I'd rather pay $10 extra then twice as much. I made an appointment with Hollie at 11:30am and came in for it.
While Hollie was half done my hair, she came back and told me that her manager said it had to me $70 instead of $45. I was even more furious, I told Hollie it was unfair to charge me not only twice as much as every other month but $5 more then it was to even start the darn things. She said she knows it's unfair and she would talk to her manager.
When it came to pay they charged me $62, I couldn't even tip Hollie. I was so angry, how could you mistreat a strong client? One thing I know about business is to never betray your strong clients!
I handed Hollie's card to her and apologized, I can't let her manager overcharge me. I called other hair cutterys in the area to see what their book prices were, they all said the same thing, $60 to start and $45 to touch up. I was even more furious, I went online to they site and sent them a complaint and I have both numbers to call.
I hope that their cooperate office treat me better then this manager did. If anyone has this horrid problem here are a few numbers I'm going to try in the morning. 1-800-TRIM-CUT [protected]), [protected] ex2, [protected] hopefully you wont need them. Personally I'll miss Hollie, she was very nice to me and my girlfriend.

Oh...and another thing...she charged me a "long hair charge." What the hell is that?! That is why you go to get your hair cut...didn't know it was a negative to have long hair when you go to a salon...dumb mother ###ers...It is because they are Persian and all people from Iran lie, cheat and steal. I don't care if that sounds racist. I have yet to meet one in my lifetime that doesn't do that.
discrimination
This poor Women Was fighting for her life and these two moran decide to harass.. what cowards!
Ms. Miller and appellee, Warren Ratner, began to live
together, apparently at his request. Appellant, at his request,
substantially altered her lifestyle. After living with appellee
for approximately three years, appellant became seriously ill with
breast cancer. He initially supported her, but later rejected her
and ordered her to leave his house. She refused. She alleges that
Warren, and his brother Dennis, then conspired to inflict emotional
distress upon her in order to cause her to vacate Warren Ratner's
house (and his life).
She alleges that, while she was ill from undergoing radiation
treatments, Warren repeatedly woke her up in the middle of the
night admonishing her to leave. She alleges that Warren's brother
Dennis, also an appellee, telephoned her during the same period,
calling her "###, " "[censored], " and a "one-breasted woman." He told
her that his brother "deserves a whole woman, not a one breasted
woman." He told Ms. Miller on at least one occasion, "### you."
She further alleges that Warren repeatedly told her she was a
financial burden and that she was going to die. She proffered that
Warren threatened her with bodily harm if she did not leave his
house and told her that if she did not voluntarily vacate his
house, he would have her put out by the "Woodridge boys."

no customer service
It was a Sunday afternoon and I had called ahead of time around 1:00pm. I asked them if I were able to come in and get a relaxer. I knew you had to come 2 hours before for chemical processes so thats why i called ahead of time. They closed at 6pm. The lady was and indian lady but I didn't get her name. So I asked if there was anyone that could do them. At Hair cuttery everyone can not do relaxers which is very racist to me. It is a shame I have to call a hair salon before I come where people have their licenses and ask if someone can do a relaxer. So since it was so late of a time I asked her if I could make an appt. for that time so there wouldn't be any discrepancies, of course she told me now they only accept walk ins.
Anyways I asked her if I could come in now she told me no come in around 4:30. I came in there around 4:15, of course the girl that I taked to on the phone had already left. To make a long story short the girl at the front desk said I couldn't get my hair done. She told me there were quite a few people in front of me and she doesn't think I would get seen. She didn't even asks the stylist or even try to compensate me. I told her the whole situation and how I would have come in earlier but the lady told me to come in later and she simply said oh well she isn't here. She was very rude. I told her about how I asked to make an appointment, she said oh she probably said that because you can only make an appointment with our master stylist and that is extra money.
I informed her that I had the money that isnt the problem. If she would have informed me of that choice I would have taken it. It was almost an insult as if I didn't have the money?! I asked for a manager and she said that there isn't one but she would be there on monday. I knew that was a lie because there is always someone in charge. But that day I didn't get my hair done I was compensated for the losses in anyway. I was very upset and all around it was just poor customer service. I will never go to hair cuttery again. To put the icing on the cake I saw a couple different white people go in there and they were able to stay and get their hair done hmmmm...

The new commercial " Hot child in the City "
The actress looks like a strung out drug addict. I don't know who came up with that ad, but it is scary.
I wouldn't get my hair cut ther after seeing that ad.
You guys rock. However on the website for altamonte springs is spelled wrong! It's Altamonte, not altomonte springs .
My last day of work for this nightmare company was 10-21-08. I have not yet received my paycheck from them yet, but what I did receive was my bonus check with Void written across it! This company pays an hourly wage AND does NOT give lunch or breaks! They actually get away with this bologne.
One of the worst customer service experience ever. First these guys lie to you and then have to wait for more than hours and after that take customers who come after you while overriding there system. I recommend everyone to NOT to go this Hair Cuttery place.
ROOSEVELT MALL

I been a loyal customer for a long long time but after waiting an hour today... I walked out on them because they lied to me and my family. Stay Away from Hair Cuttery on Roosvelt Blvd is one of them.
PURE INCOMPETENCE, SPITE AND NEGLEGENCE
My problem was at the location in the skylake plaza in North Miami Beach with a chick named Claudia.
Let me start by saying it took me three years to grow my hair long AGAIN after another idiot years ago did the same thing at the same place (it was down to my butt) I came in with the intentions of getting my ends cut and came out basically bald!
I came in and literally grabbed my hair told her this is how much I want cut off. And it was literally under 2 inches off. My hair came down to a v and I was pretty clear when I told her that I grew my layers out and I didn't want layers to just cut the ends. All she kept doing was complimenting how long and pretty my hair was and then She started to twist all of my hair over my face and I asked her what is this supposed to do and she says oh it's to cut the edges and completely chopped it off. Even the hairdresser 2 chairs over said she didn't listen to what I wanted. And when I cried she said I only cut 4 inches off. My hair is a chopped up mess, it looks like a 5 year old cut it and it is on my shoulders and layered, phrasing it better I am butchered. And as I was crying trying to hold my composure before I went off, she says well trust me your hair needed it. I am disgusted with these people.
Now the customer service end, they do not care about it they expect me to go to another hair cuttery and have them cut off MORE to "fix" what she has done. Anyone who sees me laughs at my hair and my confidence is back to the floor. They won't even pay for extensions to cover up this disaster because of their incompetent employee. And they didn't even investigate the district leader (who called me after I called 5 times about this issue after 2 weeks) said oh yeah she did cut it short and didn't listen but we won't help because it's just hair. She sounded like some random hialeah idiot you find in the flea market. Yes it's just hair point is it was all chopped off, it's butchered and it took me three years to grow it .
I will make it my goal to let everyone know my experience and post this everywhere. And also make sure everyone knows my experience and the "wonderful" customer service I got at the end. And even after that pointless call I got from her I wrote to customer service again about her incompetence and nothing.
Save your money and state of mind. Spend your money on people who actually have skill and are not spiteful.
And they also don't let you have time off for a dying family member.
Hair cuttery in Aspen Hill, Maryland
It was monday january 9, 2012 i took my grandmother to get her hair done as usually . It was around 12 and 1 pm when i hear someone screaming in the back room, then a lady came out the room yelling and she said a bad word (f*ck u) and i ask other employees who was the lady and they told me is "the manager"Tania Obrain... wow that manager is not professional by the way she was treating her employees and how she is gonna be fighting with her employee in front of all the customers...
My personal opinion is to change the manager or you guys will loose all your customers..
It's completely illegal to work off the clock, whether they tell you to come in 15 minutes to set up early or they make you clock out at nine to clean and count money. All meetings, if mandatory must be paid, as all training classes. I worked for a short time at a different chain where all of this happened, and the back pay they owe me could be worth quite the pretty penny if I wished to pursue the matter (I don't, I'm glad to be away from them, and chalk it up to a new hairdresser at her first job).
I currently work for a chain that was part of a class action lawsuit in the early 2000's, and EVERYTHING we do is on the clock. We're paid seperately for our closing duties and given extra time (paid) to drop deposits at the end of the night. Our fifteen minute set up time is on the clock too. A mandatory meal break is provided if you're scheduled six hours and the computer won't let you clock in a minute early.
One lawsuit against the biggest salon corporation in America changed some things for salon employees...at least not working for free.
I have to agree with the last comment. It seems that everyone except management can cut hair. The manager at the Green Oaks location cant cut hair at all. She is also lacking in her customer service skills. After she butchered my sons hair i asked her to fix it and she wouldn't. So if anyone goes to the Oak Lawn location, please don't let Tasha cut your hair.
Ok, I have gone to my local Hair Cuttery several times and was satisfied with the service. I went in yesterday and got the worst ever hair cut. My hair was hacked all into the layers on the right side and the left side was untouched. The long layers are still there and I feel like I am leaning to the left now. What a mess...I have to get it fixed but will NEVER go there again. Oh and by the way, it was the Assistant Salon Leader that cut it. I have had cuts from her before. Now, because we are in the middle of a snowstorm...they are closed. I would have gone down there to complain. Can't even find a coroporate office site to complain. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS SALON! Thanks for listening to my rant.
I look like a lop-eared poodle
I went in to Hair cuttery, 4351 Washington Rd., Evans, GA. I asked for a perm, a hair trim, and style--I emphatically stated "no bangs." I left looking like a wet lop-eared poodle, with bangs. Mary cut all my long hair off--my hair is so short it can't be styled. It is cut unevenly and in some places will not hold a roller. Mary said she had worked at Brandywine (a nursing home) and knew how older women liked their hair. True enough, I will celebrate my 60th birthday on Friday with guests from out of state looking like a lop-eared poodle with bangs. I asked for a styling product on my hair and Mary made a lame attempt to squirt something from a bottle with a broken nozzle.

I can't believe in this day and time someone can refuse you service. I am a very sick person and can not sit there all day
I hope that this woman loses her job. I have never felt worse in my life.
I just had the worst experience I have ever had and it was at the Hair Cuttery. I was a walk in and I was sitting waiting my turn. The next hairdresser waited and then another lady walked in and said she had an appointment with a woman named gerry. but the hairdresser was not named gerry because I called back to make sure that gerry was not working. While I was sitting there, the hairdresser said I was not overlooking you the other woman had an appointment. How dumb do they think I am. and then she asked me do I come there often and I understood why they didn't want to do my hair. I hope that nobody will ever go to the Hair Cuttery at ocean view shopping center in Norfolk, Virginia.
horrible experience
I went to hair cuttery in Quakertown, pa to get a hair cut and asked for brown highlights, the lady bleached my hair ( full set ), my hair looks yellow blond brassy and ugly orange-brown, she said oh it's not that bad, she even over charged me saying my hair is long then cut it !, I called and demanded a refund . Beware of cheap chain solons, they are hair and color shufflers!...Horrible experience!. Now I have to pay someone else to fix my hair and wait a while before I can get it back to normal... Hair cuttery NEVER AGAIN!

Hair cutlery
Hair cutlery butchered me.
Hair cutlery stylist in the Orlando FL area ruined me with bad hair processing! See these pics. They should go to jail for assault and battery!
Hair cutlery ruined my hair and treated me bad. They need to drug test.
I went to a haircuttery and they seem to laugh and you and make you feel uncomfortable so why the hell would I want to go to a place where people make you feel like ###,
I agree, I received horrible service an intend to tell anyone who will listen about my experience and will never be back!
Hair Cuttery finally got back to me and we resolved the problem. The girl used the wrong size rods for what I asked for. It looked like a perm that was a month old and already growing out.
This may be a silly question, but did you wash or wet your hair after it was permed?
Hair Cuttery in WINTER SPRINGS, FL --- SUCKS
Stylist dont listen & butcher your hair.
STAY AWAY !
lack of customer service
I have been a longtime client of this salon and have a regular stylist. However on 8-30-08 she was on maternity leave and I had another stylist who turned out to be ''the manager''. I had my usual touch-up and trim, I have shorter hair than most men and have a touch-up and trim every 3 weeks to keep it short. I have been paying the same price since I started having my hair touched up at this salon but this time I was charged a much higher price. When I questioned this the ''manager'' flipped out making me feel very, very uncomfortable in front of the other customers and stylists ! She even went so far as to pull out a price list and circle items and shove it in my direction telling me that when my stylist comes back from leave she will have a talk with her about prices, etc.I was totally humiliated ! I still can not believe how she acted. I usually have my husbands hair cut there as well but I cut his hair myself so I didn't have to go back. On top of that there is no online way to contact the company about problems, you have to call a toll number and leave a message and they are supposed to call you back.

Anyone know a good place to go for color and haircut?
Customer Service and professionalism seems to be lacking in most of the solon workers hired at this establishment anywhere you go.. That's why it is what it is and you pay what you pay. Everyone knows you take your chances at these places. It is very common for a good technician to suddenly disappear. Company policy states they can be no leads or solicitation as to allow customers to follow them.
I have repeatedly encountered techs who do not understand what or how to do a "Stacked Bob." They claim they have to shave the back of my head. If they ere well trained, they would know how to do this cut properly. If I had good sense, I would refuse to allow them to give me a "Woody Woodpecker" instead by angling the sides and just wacking layers up the back of my head. Now when I get up in the morning, I look in the mirror and look like I slept on a board. I have only walked out of a Hair Cuttery once in this situation, . That was due to a very butch technition, who wanted to shave my head, jerking my poor tired neck around during the shampoo. Then why, do you ask, do I keep going back? Because once in a while, I come across a tech who actually gets me and what I want and does a good job. Then she disappears.
While I understand your complaint, the manager was not necessarily "in the wrong" for charging you more. I am a hair stylist, and I ALWAYS charge people the correct prices from the pricing list. Clients love to argue with me about the prices because so and so changed them less. Hair stylists do this a lot of times to improve tips. They think that if they charge less, they will get more money in tips. This is selfish, though, because when stylists charge the correct price, they get dirty looks and crappy or no tips from clients.

I went to hair cuttery on town center prkwy in jax fl. I got the worst hair cut ever. I went back for a redo by the manager renee and she was worse than the first cut she was unproffessional and looked liked a little kid she is too young and does not speak or communicate like an adult. She kept asking personal questions while cutting my hair. I felt like I was being interrogated I let her finish and left . I was at her mercy because she was cutting my hair other wise I would have slapped her .
I agree with your complaint that customer service has really gone down the tubes. I am not one to have my hair cut at a salon such as hair cuttery but time was not on my side... I needed a cut that day. I also was attended by an "assistant-manager" and to my surprise her attitude was quite shocking. I too felt threatened by her when she stopped cutting my hair, starred me in the eye, and proceeded to tell me that what I was requesting was not mentioned in the beginning. I just stated that she needed to brush up on her listening skills. She chopped my hair. I left with an AWFUL cut and a frizzed perm. I have to wear my hair pulled up all the time or have it shaved. I did contact customer service and received a partial refund. Several times I requested from Mary, the district manager, an explanation for not given a full refund. She did not respond to any of them. Definitely in need of more education pertaining to customer service. This salon strives to be in a high standard category but its customer service will always keep it low.
poor service and professionalism
I will think twice before I go to this Hair Cuttery. This was a terrible experience and the customer service was pathetic. My daughter's style was not finished in a professional manner and the stylist did not make an attempt to fix things. Another stylist had to step in and redo part of the hair style because Natasha refused to fix the cornrows. Which, by the way were crooked and the rubber bands for one cornrow had parts of my daughter's hair from another intertwined with it. One would think for $72 (braids $25 (only the front was braided; long hair charge $10; ppt treatment $7.00; shampoo $14; & shp/design set $16 -this was a blow dry and only the back was curled) my daughter would have received a professional style that was complete. Hair Cuttery you really need to get your act together. I will tell everyone about my experience and post this complaint all over the world wide web!
I went many times to the Hair Cuttery (located in The Rotunda) near my home in Baltimore, MD with no complaints at all. They weren't that great cutting my hair, but I mean, sometimes it happens, for haircut I rather go to another Hair Cuttery branch (the one in Towson Mall) instead of the one at the Rotunda because I know they do a better job. Today I just went for hair color, but from the beginning everything was a mess. They make me wait for 30', they were talking about my hair with attitude like they didn't want to do simple color in my short, straight, dark brown hair...they were talking like if I wasn't there at all! The lady (Brie) who finally decided to do my hair didn't give any suggestion, she just denied to behave like a professional even when her license was hanging on the wall... she should hang on the wall a certificate of the Charm School as well...no manners at all... I felt so disrespectful...it's a shame that these people think that they are doing us a favor when they are offering a service and we are paying for it...
I'm totally disappointed with these people...
