Makeup on actors
I have been designated by the group of ladies (54) in our club to send this message.
Whoever is allowing or instructing the overload and/or gallons of makeup on the actors for Movies and Mysteries should be removed to the construction department. The poor actors have NO facial expressions - their faces are plastic masks sans not one single wrinkle, crack, crease or dimple... NO forehead creases. All members in our club agree and feel like they are painfully watching a bunch of department store manikins.
We are secure in knowing we are not the only ones who feel this way.
I truly hope this will reach or be directed to somebody who has the authority and good sense to at least discuss this issue with the makeup department director
Desired outcome: Our club would appreciate an acknowledgement of this letter.
"Christmas She Wrote" aired December 28, 2021
I don't like how you are bringing gay couples into your movies. I especially don't like it when you just pop one in the movie we are watching with no warning... Its one thing if you advertise that its going to include a gay couple... Then we don't have to watch it at all.
But, when we are watching a movie with danika mckellar in it, and enjoying it, and all of a sudden you throw a gay storyline in there... That is not fair to those of us who don't go along with the gay lifestyle, for ourselves or our children or our grandchildren. We don't want to have them watching movies promoting the gay lifestyle with us and for you to just pop it in there as we are watching a movie, is just not right. You may think it is but a lot of us don't think it is and for you to force it in on us in not right. This is the 2nd or 3rd time now, that you have snuck a gay lifestyle storyline in a hallmark movie we have been watching. We won't continue to watch your movies if we have to put up with this. We won't put up with this and we will go to the other channels that have conservative, wholesome movies, like hallmark has always been in the past, instead.
Desired outcome: Stop popping gay lifestyle storylines in the middle of a Hallmark movie
Why are you re-editing your movies, and leaving out key parts of the story lines? We love it when the writers tie up the loose ends in the movies, but after watching some movies for the second time, we have noticed several important details edited out, which the writers had obviously wanted to have included, to complete the whole happy ending! If you need more time cut, then cut from the scenes of them walking down the street, or driving down the pretty roads instead! Example: In Bethany Kay Lenz movie about her family's B and B, with the secret reviewer as a guest, you edited out that her sister was now going to become the new chef for the B and B, thereby fulfilling her dreams of cooking and also helping to keep the inn along with their Dad. In a Danica Keller movie about a Masquerade ball
, you edited out that the new owner was going to sell the garden shop AND in the end you didn't show that Cameron Mathison was going to get to buy it. You also didn't show that she found out he was the one who bought the beloved book for her after all...very sloppy editing of the story lines! DO BETTER.
I totally agree! with comment!
Agree completely!
I completely agree with this viewer. We are sick of being bombarded with gay and lesbians in the wholesome movies we would like to watch in our homes. We have been loyal viewers of Hallmark all these years. Why would you try to cram gay and lesbian down our throat?
Program content
Sister Swap, aired sometime in December 2021.
Scene where two homosexual males are kissing in public.
This type of content is extremely offensive as well as being innapripate.
Please remove this and all such type of content from your programming.
Hallmark Movies
More and more often I have to turn off a Hallmark Movie due to the LGBTQR+ material that suddenly appears on screen without prior warning. It is your right to support this lifestyle and it is my right to not have it come into my home via the TV. Hallmark has been our safe viewing choice, but unfortunately it is not now.
I ask that you include the "LBGTQR+ Material" on the rating page before each movie. This will save time and embarrassment.
Thank you for your consideration.

Desired outcome: Put a warning on the rating page
GAC channels are now what hallmark used to be before they went woke.
All of the Christmas movies
I like Christmas movies but within reason. We don't need them 24-7 from the week before Thanksgiving until the week after Christmas. Not to mention they are all the same. Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy and girl get together just before Christmas. Find someone to write different ones. Better yet, take some of your signature mystery movies, make Christmas movies out of them. Like a Hannah Swensen Christmas movie, an Auroa Teegarden Christmas, a Postable Christmas. Even better a Christmas movie with dogs. Anything is better than what you currently have
Karen L Schultz
Desired outcome: Better and less Christmas movies
Movies
I'm so disappointed that Hallmark is disregarding their demographic/fan base to appease the immoral appetites of a society that has crawled into the gutter! Why become like all the others? Hallmark should leave the homosexual and lesbian themes to Lifetime and network television. There are plenty of others that will sacrifice morality for money! It's sad that the tradition of Hallmark movies in our family won't be carried on to the next generation. What a shame.
"demographic/fan base" wow that's a good one. you do know people move and the Demographic changes with those moves? so your area may have changed and those types of movies have become necessary to produce due to this change.
Content in movies
Christmas movies
So upset about the recent standards of the family movies. Adding gays and lesbians. Your values of Christianity have left your movies. I am so sad that the world has scoped you up. We use to be so proud of Hallmark for your steadfastness and your backbone to keep your selections clean and moral.
I feel bad for you that you have allowed these changes in your moral qualities.
Desired outcome: go back to your original values
Commercials and Movies
I've always held Hallmark is high regard until this year.
Commercials that leave nothing to the imagination. Cussing. I am so disappointed that I cannot fell or think the same way about Hallmark anymore. I never thought I would see the day that the "family" channel would stoop so low to take their safe haven for families to act as the world.
Same sex couples? This is also the reason I will no longer sign up for tv that only has Hallmark. What a shame you have become. No longer can I sit down with friends and family to enjoy this channel. My family gift was going to be a subscription to Hallmark. I will definitely save my money.
May God have mercy on your souls
I completely agree. What happened to good wholesome values? Family values that many Americans desire to have in their home.
Movies
I have grown up with Hallmark movies and cards and always enjoyed everything this company stood for. The movies were so realistic of everyday normal life and in all areas of life from city to country and poor to wealthy. They were so good to enjoy with the entire family, all ages. Always appropriate and not offensive in any way. I've had numerous fun...

I am very disappointed to see Hallmark including gays and lesbians in the movies. Hallmark used to be a channel that was clean and family oriented - now I am scared to have it on the screen for my children to walk in the room. I know Hallmark must be trying to please a small portion of the population, but these scenes are degrading family values and morality. Please Hallmark, do not follow the filth and corruption of this country!
Desired outcome: Please stop having gay and lesbian characters in your movies
I agree, I am so disappointed to see Hallmark lowering their standards. My whole family and friends are talking about how the values of Hallmark have changed and we are all so sad. I never missed a movie including Matlock and several others, Christmas season, etc. NOW I don't want to watch any 2020 or newer movies from Crown or Hallmark. I use to be so proud of you

Hallmark Christmas movies
I am very disappointed to see the direction of the movies this season. There is no reason to include same sex couples in the scripts. The adding in gay and lesbian couples don't add anything to the script. We do not want to see this. It is obvious that a hidden agenda has taken over. What was family friendly viewing no longer is a reality. Please go back to family friendly movies.
Same sex relationships
I will not be watching nor supporting Hallmark because of the same sex relationships. Its sad. I will not pay for these types of shows to be played in our home. That is one of the reasons our family pay extra money to have a wholesome and family friendly movies.
Gay movie
I won't be watching the Hallmark Movie tonight: The Christmas House. Not interested in a same sex couple "romance"! Hallmark also showed this in the Sister Swap movie and it really was annoying. To think you are enjoying the movie and then a "guy crush" is thrown in the middle.
Either get back to the good Hallmark movies or I won't be watching!
Racism must go. Most of your movies do not reflect the racial makeup of our country.
I love watching the shows on hallmark, but I am very, very, very, very.
Angry that your station has not noticed that the united states and the rest of the world has people off all colors and ethnic groups,
But not in your programs. I am a proud african american born and raised in a in a one of the largest cities in the u.S. And I have lived in several other cities in other parts of the u.S. I see people of many ethnicities everyday but your shows do not reflect the diversity of this country and it breaks my heart. I usually do not see anyone like myself or other minorities unless the main characters are african american. We shop, walk, go to the park, attend school, live in all neighborhoods and do all the things anglo people do but in your movies we and other ethnicities are almost invisible if we are not the main characters in the movie.
I may see african americans maybe once during the christmas season when there is movie that has a predominant african american cast but other that it seems that the only people who exist in your christmas movies are anglo people. We have had to endure racism all around us but that is changing and you need to. When is the hallmark channel going to figure out that all kinds of people make this country what it is!
We have had to fight too hard for equal rights to be out of view in your holiday and other hallmark movies. Our children should be able to see themselves reflected in all facets of the media.
People of other races are everywhere but in your movies we do not see other ethnic groups in the background as they are in our communities. When do you go to the grocery store, mall, park, museum, church or walk down the sidewalk and not see other skin tones, facial appearances or hear other languages. Your station should be ashamed!
I have always enjoyed your feel-good movies but, your programs must reflect the presence of all races of people no matter who the main characters are. We and others should be on the sidewalk, at the grocery store, in the classroom, in the mall, at church and every other public place. We now live in mixed neighborhoods. We are at the marina, on the beach, on the plane, everywhere you see people. Any public scenes including the neighborhood of the main characters should reflect the diversity of our country.
Desired outcome: WE ARE HERE AND CHANGE MUST HAPPEN
I noticed that they repeatedly had African American Women as Company leaders in several of the movies this season. It seemed quite often when a main character had to "answer to" or "report back to" a supervisor or superior, it was an African American Woman. I am not sure if you missed that, but it was in several of them. I appreciate the diversity in our country and would love to see more of it and less of the LGBT stuff. It was overload in my opinion. Hallmark needs to make the focus on different cultures and how they celebrate Christmas. It would be much more interesting than seeing the gay couples. We can see gay couples in our everyday life. This is Hallmark's chance to entertain and educate at the same time. It would be awesome to see how traditions play out in other cultures.
You make a good point. It seems the concentration on alleged diversity has been on LGBT--that's not ethnic diversity, and a separate matter altogether. Hallmark is usually about romances and relationships, and it's either that they need to market romances to straight OR LGBT viewers. On a different note, Hallmark should definitely be able to portray more ethnically diverse movies. There were more movies dedicated to African American communities this year, and that's a step forward.
I agree whole heatedly. Recently I've been having an issue with the fact that Hallmark's cards have a section in their card display that's solely for gay people now, which happens to be a promotion of white supremacy. The large picture, which is the only large picture on the cards displays in particular stores have a huge couple , male White, non-inclusive. They're not covert racists at this point. This is blatant racism. White supremacy and them advertising and only making the white gay male Superior is racist as f##k ! But if we're talking about movies. That gay Christmas movie, was ridiculously White.
Hallmark movies
The family friendly movies are gone! I can no longer sit and watch a Hallmark movie with my family and be confident in its content. So sad to see a lesbian couple kissing. It added nothing to the story line. Hallmark is offending its base to appease a small percentage of society. Please at least mark these movies so I can decide to not watch them. Hallmark will regret this business decision. I will not be going to the Hallmark store so I can send my message with my pocketbook.
Gay scenes don't belong in Hallmark shows!
"Every Time A Bell Rings" was the last straw for us. Gay portrayals have no place in Hallmark shows- we come to Hallmark for FAMILY ORIENTED entertainment, not this new woke garbage that degrades family values! Hallmark was always a safe haven for our family but now we have to monitor its content like all the other streaming channels we have cancelled. Hallmark, you have disappointed us not only as Christians, but human beings. You can't preach family and Biblical values and then produce content that shows the opposite. We truly hope you choose to reverse your decision to give into pressures of a very small percentage of the population. We'll back you up if you do, but cancel our subscriptions in droves if you don't. We were going to submit an entry into your "#1 Fan" competition, but we would not be proud to hold that title now.
Movie content unsatisfactory
Very disappointed in 'Every Time a Bell Rings'. Hallmark is no longer a family friendly channel. Your obvious trend in slipping in more lesbian/gay actors hit bottom with the kiss scene. This movie was rated 'G' which is a farce. We no longer can watch Hallmark movies never knowing when the next scene will be something we do not want our children to see.
Desired outcome: Change ratings to show LBGT. ... So we can delete before wasting 30-45 minutes
I agree. Why should people who don't agree with the LGBTQ lifestyle have to watch it? Once I start watching a movie and am really interested in the outcome - then you toss in a character who identifies as LGBTQ - off goes the channel - don't care about the outcome anymore. Why are y'all destroying the Hallmark channels with this garbage? I have to pay extra on Dish to access the Hallmark Channels - if this continues, I am definitely willing to save myself some money and cancel the Heartland Package - I don't need to watch this stuff and neither do my grandchildren.
Well said.
Christmas movies
Movies have become garbage. Tired of having all this woke garbage to appease a generation that doesn't even watch your movies. And don't buy from your advertising sponsors. All you have to do is look at all the woke movies that have bombed people are tired of catering to 5% of the population that are LGBTQ. Just because your gay and you choose that lifestyle doesn't mean you get to set the rules for the 95% who are not gay. You make it seem like 50% of the population is gay by pushing their agenda.
Hallmark movies 2021
I am extremely disappointed in Hallmark's decision to show lesbian and gay couples in their movies- especially the kissing scenes. I have watched Hallmark faithfully for as long as I can remember, but I will no longer be doing so. Hallmark has thrown away what made them unique- wholesome family movies- a safe television channel to watch with my children and grandchildren. It is sad to see Hallmark has given in to the demands of outside forces to be "politically correct", and in doing so has lost their identity that once set them apart from and above the rest of Hollywood. This is a devastating decline for Hallmark.
Desired outcome: Stop portraying gay and lesbian couples in movies. Go back to clean, wholesome, family movies.
Christmas movie
I have alway waited for my Hallmark Christmas movies every year. You provided heart warming movie for the whole family. But this year I'm so tired of this "push it in your face the gay, lesbian content. "You may be picking up some new watchers but you are losing the Christians If they chose that for their life style fine, but my family does not need to see it on tv. Showing this just encourages kids to try it out and become confused. What's happened to the feel good movies of the past. I hate that it has come to this but my family will no longer be a part of Hallmark movie or ornaments.
Desired outcome: Go back showing content with family values so all can watch

you do know the makeup they use is based on the lighting, complexion of actor/actress, and the era they are acting in. so if it is say mid 15th century well they did historically wear over the top amount of makeup. if it is a movie set in today's world then the makeup would be measured to not be too much only enough to work with the scene.
