I ordered the above 2 products on 11/27/24. I checked the status of the items and the website indicated that both items were IN STOCK, so I completed my order.
On December 6, I received the Expansion Pack only. I immediately logged into my account at Hammacher Schlemmer and see that the Air Powered Maze was never shipped and on backorder with a ship date of 2/5/25. I never received any communication that any of the items were shipped or on backorder. I immediately called the company and was told that yes the item is on backorder and would not be received until 2025. They offered to cancel the item which I agreed to and I requested a shipping label to return the unusable Expansion Pack.
After logging into my account today I see that they added a shipping charge of $23.95 to my order which I was not informed of during the conversation. Therefore charging me for shipping a useless item. It makes no sense to send an add on without the item it is intended for.
This is the second year in a row that I have placed an order for this exact item on backorder and ruined my Christmas gift for my 3 year old grandson.
I should have known better after getting burned last year.
Claimed loss: Ruined Christmas for my grandchild and myself, frustration, stress and anxiety, along with a charge of $23.95 for their incompetence.
Desired outcome: For the company to send me the two items I ordered without charge for compensation.
