slow speed 2kbps for 1mbps connection
I renewed Hathway – Regular “64 kbps unlimited” connection to Free way – xtra 1:2 “256 kbps unlimited” with customer ID 194137 on September 17, 2007 for half yearly package and paid the full amount in advance. I was guaranteed net speed in-between 120 – 140 kbps but right from the day one the speed was around 20 – 30 kbps. On registering complaint several times, it took Hathway internet three days to send the technical representative to resolve the issue but even the tech representative was unable to resolve the issue and promised to get back to me within two days with resolution. Upon pursuing the complaint they say the complaint is in-process and the tech representative will be there by the end of the day. Still waiting for the tech representative to respond!

I am one of the most troubled customer of sickest connection called hathway vadodara gujarat. I have renewed connection since last 13 days but till date hardly 4 or 5 days I can used. Every day whenever trying to get connected always finds hopeless message server not found and every time there is network problem. When complaining only polished answer given like ho jayega or ab problem nahi hoga etc etc.
When technician came he did something and network work for that particular day but on the net day or day after the same problem of network persists. I request all of you not to go for hathway vadodara.
Especially during rainy seasons their network is almost not working so it is better for such hopeless service provider to close their offices for this rainy season’s month. They promised 256 kbps but are not in apposition to provide 10 kbps forget 256 kbps, once they received the payment. I wonder and probably doubt that owner of vadodara hathway internet has some problem with us ofr with our area. Let it clear.
So. Barodians! Beware of hathway broadband. They will have all the marketing gimmicks to cheat and attract you. Finally, u will end up repenting,... Only to look at the modem and blink, whether it will blink... Or not!

delay in installation
I have paid a cheque of Rs.1798/- for a new Hathway connection, they said the installation would be done within 3 - 5 days, it has been 9 days but the installation is still not done..It has been very ridiculous service, the excuse I am getting is its raining so they cannot put up the cables..
When I call up the customer care they are not sure what to do and they give me the Mulund Branch nos. as I reside in Mulund. The executives at Mulund branch give me false promises that it would be done today/tomorrow and this is going on since last 5 days..I work for a USA company and hence I need to work from home sometimes.
Even today they assured would be done by 2pm but surprisingly no one turned up till now...I never thought such a brand would give a pathetic service.

We r the users of hathway internet. It has been good service we received till may-2008. But now facing lots of problem which was not acceptable in any cost.They are providing poor service. They will never tell actual cause of any prob regarding connection speed. Every customer in a same area will have different response from them, I mean to say they are not trusted.Please ensure service about speed of internet while opening an account in hathway, because we & so many of my friends faced lot of problems.

I am a hathway csutomer having broadband connection under account no 161124. The internet has since closed functioning from hathway for last so many months. I had surrenedered my modem to their office at Eladams rd on 7.9.2009 and they isssued a receipt no 18740 .I was told I will get refund for the modem and unutilised portion for payments made by me within 15 days. More than 3 months are over and I am yet to hear from them. The telepphone numbers [protected], [protected], [protected] are also not operative and when I telelphone no response. what is this. Could you refund my money soon.

Believe me friends, Hathway has nice plans but their services are poor. Better the plan, poorer the services. Hathway Muambai and their branch office at Thane give such answers that you feel like taking favour from them. They always give committment of call back for unresoved issue but never do so. At times, they also give false information. I am a customer of Hathway since November 2007 and just because the plans are good I am not switched to any other services but if you call them for any change or updates, you will remember god at every bit of second. Hathway, Mumbai doesn't have a toll free number for customer care or billing querry. Their executives never follow hold procedure. They never greet properly. They are confused with terms like prepaid and postpaid. Hathway never update the information on time and so customer end up calling them 10-15 times for the same querry. Hathway's executives are not ready to listen to the customer's problem, they always want to tell what they have to say. I wanted to change my plan with lower rent plan and I end up paying minimum Rs. 100/- for follow up. I also have recorded phone calls for this issue. Now they have changed my plan but I am still getting a bill of previous plan and when I called for the new bill they are asking me to ignore the bill and suggested me to collect the updated bill from the branch office. If you ask about escalation the executive will give you a number but the concern person is always "not on his seat" or "out for lunch" then we again have to call after 25-30 minutes to get the same or alternate answer and wasting more money on phone calls. I really don't understand, the way Hathway advertise themsalves, why they are not starting a toll free number line for their customers. Their mumbai billing querry number: 022-[protected] is always busy and system message asks to leave a message and then another message we get is "The mailbox is full". I really don't know does Hathway think that their customers are fool or they know their own services are poor?

I had hired internet services of M/s Hathway Broadband Internet on Jan 16, 2007. The package was for six months with 3GB download capacity. During these six months the service was never reliable. It had lot of interruptions and the service practically came to halt in the month of April 2007. Due to these problems we were unable to utilize even 50% of the download capacity offered by the package, apart from the agony
caused by the inturrupted services.
Despite being aware of the problems faced by us, Hathway sent a
reminder for renewal of the package, for the service that was
practically non-functional since April 2007.
After prolonged communication, Hathway confessed that they are unable to provide these services in our locality. They even agreed to refund all the money that was paid by us for this package.
As I was out of India, I had told Hathway not to take away their equipment (Modem) till I return to Mumbai. Based on my experience with them, I had told them to take the Modem only after sending the refund cheque. However, their technicians visited our house in my absence and took away the modem by misleading my 80 year old mother. After taking the situation in their control Hathway is ignoring my requests for the refund as agreed earlier.
So far, I have written 40 emails to Hathway on this issue which should have been resolved long ago.
After the delay of more than six months and prolonged commnication with Hathway, I have finally received the refund cheque Jan 04, 2008.
In this case I would say that "Justice was delayed but not denied".
I have my own experience. I had to take the Hathway connection because MTNL line was faulty and in my complex Hathway has a monopolistic tie-up with the builder. In the beginning, the connection was OKay but it started giving problems after sometime. Because I had no option, I continued with the service and even renewed my subscription for an another year. There were more problems.
In the last week of August 2008, I receieved a pamphlet informing that another faster and more service was available.
On inquiry, I was informed thatthe new service was indeed so and that if I took the new service, I may get refund for the old service and that the new service will be available within 24 Hours.
I fell for the offer and issues a cheque for Rs.1124.
No body turned for providing the connection. When I tried contcating the sales executive, he sounded ignorant of the problem and assured to do something but nothing happened.
I waited for a week but still no contact was made. When I tried calling the helpline, it was an arduous task to get through. I would always end in a loop and the only way to come out would be to hang up in frustration. I persisted and a number of trials and wasted calls, I was able to talk to someone, who very rudely asked me to contact the concerned sales office.
It was the same story. Finally my wife was able to talk to someone and it was agreed that the order would be cancelled and we would given a refund cheque in two weeks. But that cheque is still elusive.
I do not know what to do.

I have not seen anything worse than this "Set Top Box of Hathway". Hathway is the most stupid Cable operator service in the world.
Hathway's Customer service reps are all bloody cheaters and Hathway is the biggest fraud company in the world.
They cheated me by promising that their cable clarity is better then TATA Sky or DISH TV. It has been nearly a month since I have put Hathway, out of 30 days it might have functioned properly for hardly 2 days. Hathway is the biggest hoax Cable operator service... Sir, I have requested your hatchway person Mr.Suresh APHB, Moula ali, Hyderabad to install hathway STB(HUMAX). But he sold me cisco co.STB for Rs.1500/- + Rs.100/- for installation charges on 16.10.2009 stating that cisco STB is better than Humax. But from next day onwards it is not functioning properly.I have complained so many times but he is not responding whenever I call him he is switching off his mobile. He fooled as well as me and you by behaving such a manner being working in an established company.
I request you to kindly intervene and do justice by advising your person to replace the STB with Humax STB wich is authorised STB of Hathway Company.

I am having hathway broadband connection. I lodged a complaint for no internet connectivity on 30th sep 2007 at 8:15 am. After that I called up number of times to them but they are not able to rectify it. Every time they give me an excuse that in 1/2 hour we will call back you but they never. Till the time (3rd oct 2007 11:15am) there is no response from their end.
Their customer service is such a bad and also technical support.
Same here... I have their internet connection too...Their Customer service is worst i have ever seen... The numbers that were given to me during installation to contact if any issues arises are not at all working...The Numbers are dead and the remaining numbers go on voice recording...

I have been the customer for Hathway internet in India for the last five years. My customer account number is 84729. Off late the broad band internet connect goes off very often (at least once in a day). The call center is the backbone for any service provider, surprisingly the call center number of great hathway internet is engaged for days together some times. I have a doubt that they must be working with very few lines for call center, I don't understand how they want to survive with such a mean management to increase the lines. Initially while taking the order they say that this company belongs to Hinduja group. It is really a shame for the group with this kind of a service and service infrastructure.
I wish I had searched on the internet for "hathway sucks" before buying a prepaid. I paid 618/- on 6th April but till date haven't received the connection. I must have made calls worth more than 618/- calling them from pillar to post but of no use.
Rajan Raheja Group has diversified into a wrong field I guess.
I would like to join you too.I am planning to file a suit against t hem in the consumer court. They have appointed staff for less salary calling them "technical"... The guys at the call center are taught like parrots to speak to the customers. Absolutely hopeless service. My connection was having frequent disconnection and i chased them like anything to get it rectified at the end of the day they call me up and ask me to renew the connection whereas i have not used the same for the past one month. I asked them for an extension of validity and their reply is that i should renew first. This the the way they do business and cheat and hold their customers. The speed promised to me was 256 kbps but when i check it in online speedometer it shows 128 to 138 kbps... Totally a fraud company minting money from customers like us. Lets teach them a lesson. The employees cannot be blamed.We got to hit the head!
Hey Guys! I am having terrible time dealing with HATHWAY BROADBAND BANGALORE people. I had opted for 512k blast in the month of May 2007. By end of the month i wanted to upgrade to 'Freeway' - 256kbps, unlimited download. I had paid them 1120/- (Inclusive of taxes). I though that they had changed the plan to Freeway, but due to internet connection being so slow i phone called them. Thats why i got to know that they had changed my plan to 64kbps Thruway connection. Since then till now they haven't changed my connection.
And you know what? They have sent me a bill today, even after i canceled my account with them.
I am planning file a suit against them at the consumer court to fight against such MONEY SUCKERS. How many of you would like to join me?

I am staying in vij'ngr b'lore... We had taken hathway broadband service with a tariff plan of 512 kbps... 3gb download... 3 months validity... For rs 1500 /-...
From past 40 days we are using it... But for only 15 days we got the service and remaining 25 days there was no service at all.
We called the customer care so many times... They told that there was some problem in our area and within short time they will fix it... But still it is not... We are fed off with this service...
Finally we have decided to deactivate the service and go for other service providers.
Hathway broadband service is the worst broadband one can ever imagine. I took a 2 month 2 GB free connection, it was prepaid. I dont get any network even 10% of the day. Since last 15 days I've been calling the helpdesk people at least thrice a day, everyday they utter the same thing - it will be fixed within next 12 hours. These 12 hours are never coming. I'VE PAID MONEY AND I'M NOT GETTING ANY NETWORK. Forget about the speed.
Even the manager was so scoundrel that when I sent an email to him describing the situation, he promised that he'll fix this within one day. He never did that. If I would have enough time, I would sue them under consumer protection act. I've removed my network and going for Airtel from the next month.
getting no signal from last 2 month!
I am digital TV subscriber and using Hathway Set top box which was purchased in my mother name Ms. Ratna Zutshi. (Ward No. 2, Mehrauli). We purchased set top box from our cable operator in March and since then the box is not working properly. But from last 2month we are getting NO SIGNAL caption on our TV screen. We have complained to our local cable operator (Exotic cables) and Hathway customer care center, in fact have called them several times but no body has till date responded to our problem.

I had booked for a Hathway Broadband connection by paying Rs.1686/- vide receipt No.5276 dated 9/6/07. The amount was collected by their representative Ravi (Mobile No.-[protected]) at Girinagar, Bangalore. He said that the connection would be operational within 4 days. However, 17 days later, despite innumerable phone calls and SMSs to Ravi, His Supervisor- VenkatGiri([protected])and to Call center 080-[protected]; neither the connection been given nor the money been refunded. The behavior of Hathway and its representatives has been totally callous and irresponsible. They do not even have the decency to call and update the status in fact they do not even answer calls. At call center they promise a call back in an hour which has never happened. I wonder if in the name of new connections - Hathway.

I had taken a broadband internet connection in bangalore in december 2006 for a month. On the termination date the engineers failed to collect the modem. After repeated contacts they sent an engineer to collect the modem and terminate the connection, after 1 1/2 months of following up. And then nothing happened! No refunds. I got a hathway broadband connection almost a month back and my connection is up very rarely. What prompted me to write this complaint here is that, as I write this email, it is going to be 72 hours since my internet connection is down and I have made nothing less than 20 calls to their so-called "customer care".
Every time they pacify me with things like "sending someone", "look into it" and so on. Interestingly, there aren't any responsible or sincere souls working in this division. I feel cheated after paying the money for this prepaid account and getting nothing in return. Totally undependable service. Even when I called the senior engineers in hathway, they gave me the same stories like a recorded message.
In fact, the customer care only needs either a recorded message repeater or even better, a parrot to repeat the same things over and over again.
This atrocity is going on in the HSR layout area in Bangalore. Also, I know atleast 3 others in the same area who are going through the same agony and pain.

broadband connectivity problems!
I stay in HSR Layout Sector 1. I have been using Hathway Internet connection for a few months now. Recently (around 19th April 07) my internet connection stopped working and I came to see the worst face of a service provider. Please read below :
1) The so called service line is always busy or disconnected.
2) After a few days I could get to their operator who said the connection would be restored in 2 days.
3) Even after 25th Apr the internet was not working.
4) On 1st May I logged another complaint. I was told there was NO record of my previous complaint! Airtel is better in this regard.
5) On 2nd May I got a call saying they would take another 2 days to restore the service and when I asked for written answer they rejected it!
I suggest people avoid Hathway.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

It is true, they are not even ready to learn from past, it works like a charity organization. anyway it is closing time for all cable operators. let their staff use personally.
Now they have suddenly incaresed the Tariff rates without even communication this to me! I am being a postpaid customer have no choice but to pay the amount. Man, In India consumers are made fools by each every service providers. I have told them to disconnect my connection immediately. This is very bad!
The speed from Hathway is really horrible. Most of the times, the internet doesnt even work.
Every week, atleast 2 complaints I register with Hathway. Almost all time, the issues have been resolved within 1 or 2 dyas. If the internet is not working, I suggest you all to give a complaint, take a complaint number & escalate to the nodal officers. Atleast some hope you will have doing this.
As mentioned in the connection plan of Hathway... of recieving 256 Kbps.. you alll will be amazed to read that I am recieving only 12 Kbps...

no money refund from hathway internet!
Hathway Internet took 2117/- rs on 8th Nov 2006 for new connection and promise to give new connection in 2days. but after 15 days they said they don't have feasibility and will refund my money in 2 days. Already 1 month gone i keep calling all hathway people but no response. Hathway Internet cheats their clients!

Dear Custoemers, i would like to inform you all that atleast hathway is ok, but pls dont ever try to take the internet connection from tataindicom broad band, they have worst connection, no proper responce very pathetic service,
this is all i say because im an employe of tata indicom broad band, i see so many pepole cheated and if the customer is ignoring to pay the bill for poor service they send the legal notice from court if then no responce they have roudies under them they visit to customer place directly & torcher people to pay the bill use all abusing language this is all i have seen on my own sight so pls do not go to tata indicom my humble request.

Yeah it happened to me i applied for hathway connection. Their agent come and collect money about 1200 and then gone after 10-15 days of continuous calling to their engineer, clerk to manager i got to know connection is not feasible and then the real run started to catch the hathway people for refund of money. I think i almost forget the count after 80-90 calls the situation is even their customer care disconnects my call, think of the attitude these guys have, because of my hectic work schedule i couldn't got time to take proper legal action and moreover our system is so complicated when i inquire i found its too difficult to legally lodge a complaint. Guys i give you a serious advice if u want to go broadband go for only AIRTEL at least they response u well and act otherwise ISP's like Hathway, Tata Indicom are terrible and if somebody knows the exact procedure to sue them please let me know i have the receipt that hathway provided with me and phone numbers of their Hierarchies Including clerk to manager (Think of the torture).

Hathway internet is just cheating company. They don't have any customer service and nobody will attend the call, even if they attend the call, they don't know how to resolve the problem. I am unable to connect to internet for the past 3 weeks and i am not able to get them resolve it.
My sincere advice to anyone is don't ever get hathway connection even if it is offered free of cost. It is such a WORST network.
shaddy services provided for internet broadband connection!
I recently took a new internet broadband connection from Hathway Internet. The connection has been down since last week, but nothing has moved inspite of repeated reminders to the concerned authorities. The installation took more than 10 days as against promised to have the complete installation of modem including the wiring etc done within 24 hrs max. This is inspite of talking to there topmost authority at Hyderabad, giving numerous complaints etc.
The local authorities at Hyderabad does not even entertain phone calls and never act as promised by them. I took a 256 kps speed connection but actually getting something 64kps speed connection.
Overall its been a pathetic experience... a cool advice is not to take Hathway internet connection. Should opt for some other services available.

I had applied for an interenet connection from Hathway in the month of Jan. Their sales executive came to us and sold the package. I made the payment and still now i haven't got the connection, when i call customer care they hanp up the phone. I tried reaching their corporate number but no one from Hathcway even care to cll back and say please collect your money we cann ot give you the connection.
I am not worried of my money, but Hathway besing such a big company, its service sucks. Yes Hathway Sucks, I need some one from the company to help me on this.

I used hathway connection for a 2month 3rd month i was not paid and disconnected till the date i get notified by hathway of due payment and keep on sending message of due payment they not taken the device and not even calling for payment to collect, it's 1yr 4months now.
Really it sucks in the Bangalore...there is only contact no. to contact them...and you will find only one person to take the call in the billing and technical department both... customer care is totally fake... Salesperson are the biggest lier... after taking the connection they behave like the HITLER...
they can disconnect your connection without any prior information and a week before the due date of bill...
I will recommend to go with airtel/bsnl if possible...
Please do favour to your self. NEVER EVER subscribe to hathway internet. One of worsts. I have subscribed to 1 Mbps plan in Mumbai. I don't get more than 250-230 kbps. Big time cheats. I spoke to their customer service but no use. I have decided to take some action against them. Lodging police complaint and going to consumer court. I have also initiated social awareness about them to educate people about their services.

Yes, I do agree with the above complaints. Hathway people are bloody fool. I want to give suggestion to them that if they are having the business all over than why the hell they do this kind of cheapness. I am also suffering from the same problem. I have given complaints so many times only to shift the connection in the same office but these people are bloody rascals. They don't know how to run a business. So why should they open the office of service provider.
net is not working properly
I am amit mahajan staying in kothrud pune. We have an hathway broadband internet copnncetion. But the service is very poor. We have an 8 to 8 conection, but net is rarely working.
And customer care service is very poor... I tried so many times but no way.
And wen I called the customer care person is not taking properly.
From last week the net is not working.

We are not getting the speed as at the contracted level of 512 KB and getting a speed of only 70-98.
For installation, I had to put up with a couple of no shows before someone finally turned up to install. After waiting for 3 hours in the morning, I threatened to call the Mumbai office. The technician who came to install late in the evening told me that he had met with an accident in the morning. I had been living long enough in Hyderabad to fall for that.
Now, when it came to closing my account, I had to call the Customer support a couple of times and they promised to send someone, and surprise, no shows again (2 times). Finally I left the hardware with my neighbour and vacated the house.
Now I am getting bills for the past few months at one shot!
Even I also face the problem in Hathway bangalore, The person who is in customer care Dept really they are not responsible and I can say they don't know anything apart of collecting money.
I have quarterly plan of 128kbps they changed it to monthly w/o informing me and even more surprising is that when I asked customer care Dept about the twice monthlyy then they toldl some other story andwhen third time also got the Bill then I escalate it then came to know that their is no sync up between customer care Dept and Billing Dept.
Both of the Dept what responsibility they are handling I don't know.

Nature of Complaint;
Dear Sir,
I, the undersigned, would like to bring to your notice the malicious, negligent and wrongful act done by your employees.
It has been 1½ month now that I have been repeatedly complaining about the faulty and non functional internet connection to your Customer Care Department since the day of installation.
My recent complaints No. are – 1730509 – 8th August 2008 & - 1746249 – 12th August 2008
Since 12th of August 2008, repeated complaint has been given with the above complaint No. 1746249.
The Customer Care department has not done any thing till today. Every time I call up they have the same reply that a Service Eng. will come to your place and repair the defect. The Service Eng’s. visited my place but were not able to start my connection.
In spite of my repeated approaches, in person & writing the Zonal Office at Kandivali (East) and Main Branch (Lower Parel)
Have not made my connection functional till today.
The fact is that the charges for the monthly connection are taken in advance, neither the Zonal Office nor the Main Branch have rectified the fault and made my connection functional.
When I, enquired with the, ‘Service Eng.’ at your Zonal Office, Kandivali (East), Gokul Nagri 2, he was not at all interested to talk to me and not ready to take my written complaint.

I wonder that the Customer care people don’t even know about their M.D [ Hathway Cable & Datacom Pvt Ltd.] because on asking for your (M.D) contact details & Email ID, they inform that they are not aware about it.
It’s like a ‘Tata employee’ saying that he is not aware that
Mr. Ratan Tata is the M.D of Tata Group.
Not only this, they are not even ready to give the details of the person accountable for the non redressal of my complaint.
Prayers;
I hope that you are enlightened about these facts. I request you to make your staff Customer Friendly and train them for accountability & efficiency at work.
I also demand that the company should waive off the charges in the bill for the time my internet connection was non functional.
The company should reimburse the coast incurred by me in pursing this complaint till to-date. The amount works out to be Rs. 500/-
I hope the company will compensate for the Inconvenience & the Mental Strain caused by the non functional internet connection during the course of my complaint.

Hathway service sucks. The service is very poor. The modem gets disconnected frequently. the connection gets lost, The customer care service is of no use as they keep on saying that the issue will be resolved. but no one comes and resolves the issue.
The cutromer care is teh worst.
I ahve been having a connection problem for teh past 5 months and i must ahve called the customer care at least a 1000 times. The voice ceneter is not at all healthy to speak with, they do not visit the house to reparir at all, there is huge communication gap between the service executives, i am so fed up with the hwole hatway way of working, its an absolute pain and a beigger pain tpo deal with the service executives- they are not helpful, not polite and are so rude to speak with. i have decided to terminate my connection with hathway - if they cant refund me, i throw the money back at them so that they cna invest with the same in training their service executives more corteous - the whole mangement is loose and useless.

Its the same story in Coimbatore too...The customer care is too bad...I spoke with Anu, Aarthi, Surya, Prakash, etc...Also with Jeevitha in Chennai office, who is highly irresponsible with her answers...I have been calling a salesperson named Ashok who always promises me that he will come to my place in 10 minutes or 1 hour; but never did that for atleast a week's time...After that i placed a complaint/request to provide the internet connection. The next day came the most irresponsible salesperson named Vinoba...He is a guy filled with dirty promises..I have told him several times that i will be registering with him only if the customer service is good and wont encourage false promises...He shook his head like a pendulum and grabbed my money and went away...The cabling guy Siva came to my place and analysed the possibilities and told me that it will take a maximum of two days to do the cable work (for 200 metres). I agreed and also asked him not to delay beyond that. Only after that the real problem started. I have been chasing Vinoba, the salesperson and was calling the customer care and explaining the problem 'n' number of times. No one has responded properly and atlast i managed to get a call from Mr. Nirmal, who calls himself as the head of the customer care. He too is not aware of whats going on and told me that he will be calling back. I requested him to provide me the higher official or a responsible person who can take action to make things work. No one including this guy has given me the number, instead asked me to mail the complaints. The same day i went to their office in Coimbatore and met Stephen.J, Network Engineer, who calls himself as the Tech. head of Coimbatore. He too tried to avoid me initially by just talking with some of his colleagues about my problem in the name of clarification. But I made a statement clearly that something has to be done to take an action against the irresponsible persons and to give proper reason and to promise that it wont happen again by a responsible person if there is anyone in Hathway. To conclude, we should take this issue to the consumer court and make them to realise that they have to work for their money that has been paid by Hathway through us.
