Beware of Oversized Vehicle Charges with Hawaii Car Transport - Disappointing Experience
I had an experience with Hawaii Car Transport that left me feeling quite disappointed. I booked the shipment of 2 vehicles with this company, one of them being a cargo van. During the booking process, I confirmed with them that my van was not oversized. I have been a carpenter for 30 years, so I know how to properly measure my cargo van, and it was not oversized. However, I heard from other people in Kona that I should be careful when my car is out of my hands and my payment goes through because Hawaii Car Transport will charge me extra if they deem it to be oversized. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened to me.
After the payment went through, I received a call from Hawaii Car Transport stating that if I did not pay another $400, my van would not be shipped to Georgia because it was considered oversized. I was promised by the salesman that I would not have this issue, and I even took extra steps to confirm with him that my van was not oversized during the booking process. It was disappointing to find out that I was still being charged extra for something that I was assured would not happen.
When I reached out to their customer service, the response I got was just an apology and an excuse that there were no notes in their system about the salesman talking to me about this issue. The bottom line is that I don't think Hawaii Car Transport deserves any stars at all. I feel like I have been scammed out of $400. I just want to warn other potential customers so that they don't have to go through the same thing.
Efficient Car Transport to Hawaii with Frustrating Customer Service
This Hawaii Car Transport company is pretty good at getting your car where it needs to go, but their customer service can be a little frustrating at times. If you have an existing booking and try to get a hold of someone on the phone, good luck! Sometimes you can wait on hold for over 90 minutes and get really upset with them. But if you call back and press #2 for a "new booking", they'll answer the phone much faster. Just don't let them transfer you to another department, because they probably have the information you need.
It seems that the sales team is much more responsive than the customer service team. They're good at getting you booked and taking your money, but not so good at answering questions from existing customers. If you create a new (fake) booking online, they will call you back right away. It's frustrating, but at least you can get the information you need.
If they could figure out a way to be more efficient and responsive with existing customers, their review scores would be much better. Hopefully they can sort this out, because overall they're not a bad company. They'll get your car where it needs to go, you just might have to jump through some hoops to get the information you need.
Mixed experience with Hawaii Car Transport: Lack of communication and upfront payment
I had some mixed feelings about my experience with Hawaii Car Transport. On one hand, I would have preferred to pay for the shipping in installments rather than all upfront. This would have allowed me to feel more secure about being satisfied with the service before forking over all the cash.
But on the other hand, I was very disappointed with the lack of communication from the company once I had paid. Despite being promised by three different associates that I would receive a phone call to check in on the status of my truck, I never received a single call. Even Pam, who said she personally initiated an inquiry for me, still did not result in any communication.
Eventually, I took it upon myself to contact Matson directly, and that is how I found out that my vehicle was ready for pickup. It was only then that Hawaii Car Transport finally reached out to me saying that the car was ready.
I had tedious waiting time for the delivery, and while Matson may have been somewhat to blame for the delay, I still feel that Hawaii Car Transport could have done a better job of keeping me in the loop. It feels as though the company washed their hands of me after I made payment and did not take their responsibility to their customers seriously. For a month, I had no idea about the status of my truck until I took the initiative myself to call and check.
Overall, I was not impressed with the customer service that Hawaii Car Transport offered. If you are looking for a transportation company, I would advise you to consider other options that might be more communicative and helpful to their clients.
Horrible Experience with hawaiicartransport.com - Unprofessional and Refuses to Cover Damages
This is my review of hawaiicartransport.com. I gotta say, they're not very professional in their dealings. I had a real bad experience with them when they scratched up my 2019 TRD PRO 4runner in not just one, but TWO different places. That's just not right, ya know? But the worst part of it all has been trying to get them to cover the damages. Man, it's been such a hassle dealing with their claim process. Can you believe it? Even auto repair shops in Big Island wouldn't write me estimates for the damage because they said HCT NEVER pays out their claims. I mean, what kind of company goes around treating their customers like that? And of course HCT requires two estimates to be submitted, just to make things harder for us. One estimate I got alone cost me 250 dollars - that's more money out of MY pocket, on top of the damage they caused. It really made me think HCT is just setting up road blocks so they don't have to pay for anything.
While HCT did deliver my car on time, they really dropped the ball on the damage. They don't seem to care about fixing it or making it right at all. I talked to some auto body shops and they told me that HCT doesn't really have a good reputation. Especially with us buying insurance and all, it seems scummy of them to pull something like this. In the end, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I'm not gonna lie, I might even need to take them to small claims court. Just another hassle and more money out of my pocket. It's really just a shame that HCT can't be more professional and own up to their mistakes.
Avoid Hawaii Car Transport at All Costs: Horrible Customer Service, High Prices, and Hidden Fees
Gotta say, all that trash talk you hear about Hawaii Car Transport is actually true. And I'm not just talking about a couple of negative reviews here. No, it's way worse than that. For starters, it's like pulling teeth trying to talk to anyone in customer service. You just sit on hold for hours and hours until you give up. The salespeople, on the other hand, are all up in your business trying to get your money, but once you've paid it's like they've totally forgotten about you.
And let me tell you, they are not cheap. Their prices are way higher than other companies that do the same thing. Plus, if you try to use a credit card they hit you with some crazy fees that can add up fast.
Now, I will say that my car did get to its destination a few days early, which was nice. But the customer service people gave me the wrong information about when it would arrive, so I thought it was late and ended up getting hit with an extra charge. When I tried to get Hawaii Car Transport to reimburse me for it, they just ghosted me. Never responded at all.
I don't write reviews like this normally, but this company really ticked me off. Seriously, don't waste your time with them. The guy in sales, Connor, might try to convince you that they're not so bad, but don't believe him. The low ratings on Yelp are legit, and it's been two whole months since I made a claim about a scratch on my car when I picked it up and I still haven't seen any money from them. Avoid Hawaii Car Transport at all costs, folks.
Disappointing Experience with Hawaii Car Transport: Lack of Communication and Attention to Detail
. Booking my car transport with Hawaii Car Transport through their website was easy enough, but there were a few things that made the process slightly more difficult. Firstly, I had to pay upfront and wait for my booking number and further instructions to be sent to me. I was a little apprehensive about this, as I wasn't sure what other paperwork I would need to fill out to make the process seamless.
Unfortunately, my worries were not unfounded. While my car was professionally cleaned before transport, Hawaii Car Transport still charged me a cleaning fee when my car arrived covered in salty grime. Disappointed by this, I contacted the company in hopes of getting more information, but found that communication was lacking. Multiple calls to them were needed before I finally received any updates on the status of my vehicle.
To add to the frustration, I discovered that the Hawaii Car Transport booking number meant nothing to Matson, so I had to provide them with the Matson Port Number myself. When I finally received the documentation, the recipient and the shipper's names were swapped on the contract. It was fortunate that I was able to get a helpful Matson employee in Long Beach who assisted me in getting the right documents and my car back.
All in all, while Hawaii Car Transport may offer a relatively straightforward booking process, their lack of communication and attention to detail left much to be desired. I wouldn't choose to use their service again if I had the option.
Not Recommended: My Terrible Experience with Hawaii Car Transport - Unreliable and Abysmal Customer Service
The experience I had with Hawaii Car Transport was very disappointing. A few days before my scheduled pick-up, they called to confirm my information and I told them about my appointment at 2 in the afternoon. I requested a pick-up time after 3 PM, and they assured me that their drivers could work around my schedule. However, things went downhill from there.
On the day of the pick-up, the driver called me at noon, asking if he could pick up my car at that time. I reminded him that I had told the company about my availability, and he said he wasn't sure if he could come by later. He promised to call me back, but several hours went by, and I heard nothing. I tried calling the driver, but he didn't answer. I decided to call the company, but I had to stay on hold for over an hour.
Finally, a woman answered the phone, but unfortunately, the news wasn't good. The driver hadn't informed them about my schedule, and they had no idea that he couldn't pick up my car at noon. No replacement driver was scheduled, and I was left in the dark. The woman said she would take care of it and call me back. Unfortunately, several more hours went by, and I heard nothing from anyone.
I continued calling their customer service numerous times but end up being stuck on hold for long and couldn't get through. The worst part is that their office closed for the day, and I had no one scheduled to pick up my car, with no alternative options given to me. It was a nightmare scenario - I was moving in three days and I didn't know if I would have any way to transport my vehicle. I wasted many hours looking for an alternative car transport service that could help me, but I ended up spending more money as the cost of the alternative service was higher.
Overall, my experience with Hawaii Car Transport was terrible. They were completely unreliable, and their customer service was abysmal. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, and I'm disappointed that I had to go through that experience.
Mixed Experience with Hawaii Car Transport: Smooth Booking Process, but Lack of Tracking and Communication
I gotta say, I was pretty satisfied with my experience with Hawaii Car Transport. My vehicle arrived in tip-top shape, and the booking process was a breeze. I mean, I was really taken aback by how quickly everything was sorted out. But, gotta be honest, there were a few hiccups that kind of put a damper on things.
First off, it was pretty annoying that they don't keep you updated on where your car is during transit. Like, come on guys, it's the 21st century, can't we get some tracking information sent our way without having to jump through hoops? I had to put in requests for updates online, and even then, if it was a weekend or holiday, I wouldn't hear anything back until the next business day. Which, let's be real, nobody wants to deal with.
To make things worse, I had to request tracking info three times before anyone even bothered getting back to me. And even then, I had to call them up and ask what the heck was going on. They gave me an arrival date of January 3rd, which was fine by me, but then they went and changed it to the 4th. Okay, mistakes happen, but it was a bit of a pain to have to rearrange plans on such short notice. Especially when the driver offered to deliver my car at midnight on the 3rd. Like, is that even legal?
Speaking of the driver, he had such a thick accent that it was a struggle to communicate with him. And to top it off, when I told him which gate to use to get on the military base where I live, he went and used the wrong one. Which, let me tell you, made things way more difficult than they needed to be.
All in all, I'm glad that my car arrived safely and relatively quickly, but there were definitely some frustrating moments along the way. So if you're looking for a car shipping company that gets the job done, Hawaii Car Transport might be worth considering. But just be prepared for a few annoyances along the way.
Review of Hawaii Car Transport: Delays and Fine Print Limitations for Shipment to Hawaii
I had a deal with Hawaii Car Transport to move my beloved Jeep from Las Vegas all the way to Hilo, Hawaii. First off, I gotta say that the folks at the company seemed pretty excited and responsive to get the Jeep picked up from my home in Vegas and then driven to Long Beach, which was the port from where my car was supposed to set sail to Hawaii. The thing is, my time on the island was limited to just two weeks, so I made sure Hawaii Car Transport knew how vital it was to get the Jeep there as soon as possible because I needed it to pull a utility trailer.
The first bunch of employees I talked to said it was no problem, and they scheduled a pickup of my Jeep in Vegas so that it would make it to Hilo on December 26, one whole week before I arrived in Hawaii. So, to make that happen, they had to pick up my Jeep from Vegas on December 12. My boys worked on some extra add-ons for the Jeep to make sure it was ready for its big trip, but they barely made it in time because they had to take off a day from work. As scheduled, Hawaii Car Transport picked up my Jeep on December 12, but there was a bit of a problem. It wasn't actually delivered to Long Beach until December 15. When I reached out to the folks over at Matson shipping (the guys in charge of moving the Jeep across the ocean), they told me that the ship that was supposed to take my car had already left. And just like that, the delay began.
Matson shipping ended up postponing the arrival of the Jeep in Hilo until January 11, which was three whole days before I needed to leave Hawaii. I reminded Hawaii Car Transport about the tight schedule after the Jeep was picked up, but then they said that they couldn't guarantee when they'd manage to get it to Hawaii (which, by the way, is written in that fine, fine print in the customer contract). That contract also limits their liability to $1,000 only in case of any damage or loss to the vehicle while it's being moved.
If you're thinking of sending your vehicle to Hawaii, I recommend that you go straight to Matson shipping and contract with another transportation company to get your car to the closest port.
Hawaii Car Transport: Non-Existent Communication and Shady Practices - A Big Thumbs Down
This company gets a big thumbs down from me, something that I don't usually do but after the experience I had with Hawaii Car Transport, I felt I needed to. I had to ship my two cars from Hawaii to Colorado and the communication with the company was non-existent from the start. They didn't give me clear instructions on how to drop off my cars and it took me two trips to finally achieve this simple task. I was charged $200 for each car to be stored there before shipping, even though they promise "flexible drop off," they don't follow through on this promise.
When I arrived at the fenced lot where I had to drop off my cars, it was a super shady experience. Their employee was barely equipped with a clipboard, a pen, and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, and there wasn't even an office on his premises. It didn't leave me with a good feeling when we parted ways, but I went ahead hoping that it would all be okay.
Over the next three weeks, I tried to contact HCT in different ways to find out when my cars were going to be delivered, but they didn't answer my emails or phone calls, and their online chat was unreliable. It wasn't until I got in touch with PASHA that I found out I would be contacted once my car was unloaded in California. On Friday afternoon, I finally received an email from HCT stating that estimated delivery would be on Monday, but no other information was provided.
After that, I tried calling HCT, emailing them, and contacting the carrier service assigned to me, but I got no response. I scheduled a “port to door” service and expected my cars to be delivered to my door, but to my surprise, the driver told me that I needed to meet him at a location 20 miles away from my house at 12 noon on Monday morning. I had to scramble at the last minute to figure out how to get there with two other drivers in order to pick up my cars, which was very inconvenient.
All of this could have been avoided if there had been better communication on their part. The HCT staff don't pick up their phone, they don't answer emails or messages, and the "live tracking" doesn't work. Instead of using Hawaii Car Transport, I would recommend using a company like PASHA or any other company that values customer satisfaction and communication. Don't waste your time and money with Hawaii Car Transport!

Beware of Hawaii Car Transport: Terrible Customer Service and Communication
Hawaii Car Transport is not what it seems, so don't be fooled by its flashy website. I recently contracted with them to ship my car, and it was an absolute nightmare. Trying to communicate with them was like pulling teeth - I would wait on hold for upwards of 45 minutes just to get someone on the other end, and when I finally did, they were incredibly unhelpful.
My advice? Skip the middle man and go directly to a shipping company. It's not worth paying the extra hundred dollars for the terrible customer service and lack of communication that comes with Hawaii Car Transport.
In fact, I give them a solid D minus to F grade. Save yourself the headache and steer clear.
Mixed experience with Hawaii Car Transport: A bumpy ride, but it all worked out in the end
I gotta say, my experience with Hawaii Car Transport was a bit of a bumpy ride, but it all worked out in the end. Their estimate for when my truck would arrive in Hawaii was way off - by like a week and a half! But honestly, I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call from them saying my ride was actually ready to go much earlier than expected. That would've been all fine and dandy, except for the fact that I had to scramble to change my flight and hotel reservations (costing me a nice chunk of change) to accommodate the later shipping date that they had originally promised me.
One thing that I found annoying was that you can't see the shipping timeline until after you've already forked over the dough for the service. It would've saved me a lot of headaches if they could make that info more accessible and transparent upfront. But overall, the booking process itself was a breeze - no complaints there. And I did appreciate that HCT partners with Horizon to make sure your ride is secure in a container during transit, safe from the salty ocean air.
All in all, despite the hiccup with the timeline, I'm actually pretty happy with how everything turned out. Would I use HCT again? Maybe, but only if they can guarantee a more accurate timeline or better communication about any changes.
Mixed Results with Hawaii Car Transport: Quick Drop-off, Slow Delivery, Poor Communication
I used Hawaii Car Transport to send my car to another island and some peeps got it right, but others got totes different experience - for us it was a bit of both. The whole gettin' the car ready and droppin' it off process was pretty snappy and we had no issues there. But listen up, we thought the arrival would be similar but it's been a whole week past the initial time they told us and now they're sayin' another week before it gets here. Ain't nobody got time for that.
We tried callin' 'em up and it's like they're playin' hide and seek or somethin' cause it took for-ev-er to get someone on the phone. They said they had a "real time" tracker but honestly we ain't seein' anything close to that. We're super bummed about the whole thing and it's costin' us a ton to rent a car in the meantime. We coulda just paid a lil more upfront for reliable service and saved ourselves the stress and money. In the end, it's just not worth the risk to use 'em again.

Poor Communication and Tracking with Hawaii Car Transport
Communication with Hawaii Car Transport was really bad. It was like they didn't know how to keep their customers in the loop, you know? We had to keep asking for updates, but even then they didn't do a good job of keeping their transportation tracker up to date. It was so confusing - we had no idea where our car was; we didn't know when it arrived in California, when it got on the boat, or when it was going to arrive in Hawaii. Every date they gave us was totally wrong. I mean, I get that they can't tell us exactly when it's going to arrive, but they could at least confirm that it made it from Wisconsin to California, right? Honestly, their communication was really, really bad. I don't think I'll ever use them again. There are so many other companies that do a better job of keeping their customers in the loop.
Buyer Beware: Disastrous Experience with Hawaii Car Transport
I wanna start off by saying that I really had a bad experience with Hawaii Car Transport. I'm telling y'all buyer beware - I shipped my car to Maui through them and what they did with my car made me really upset. They put my car on some dirty lot that was smack-dab in the middle of some cane field. Can y'all believe that they had no covering for the cars or any security measures whatsoever? And, wait for it, no employees too! Five whole miles away from the port - it took me forever to get there!
The route to the lot was terrible, I swear, my car went through so many rocks and potholes. And to make matters worse, there were some industrial activities going on right next to the lot and there's dust and falls out everywhere. It was a complete disaster!
Now, if you think getting through to their customer service number was easy-peasy, boy are you in for a shock. I was put on hold for HOURS...yes, not minutes but HOURS... and I left VOICEMAILS for Rob Aola, but the dude ignored all of them and never called back.
Honestly, once these guys get your money, I don't think they care about you anymore. Getting a human on the phone after they've taken your money seems like an impossible task too.
In my opinion, I strongly recommend you stay clear of Hawaii Car Transport, that's for sure. My experience was disastrous enough to keep me on edge all day. And I don't even wanna hear their name anymore. NEVER AGAIN!
Hawaii Car Transport: Great Start, Terrible Finish - Buyer Beware!
I recently used Hawaii Car Transport (HCT) to ship my vehicle from the lovely state of Hawaii to the beautiful state of California. At first, everything was smooth sailing and the company was on point. They contacted me multiple times, via phone call, email, and text message, to let me know they were eager to do business with me. They were so convincing that I ended up choosing them over other companies. However, once my vehicle was shipped and got to the mainland, the customer service experience deteriorated. I have been trying to contact them regarding my vehicle, but to no avail. It seems there's no one available to talk to me.
The situation is infuriating. I've called HCT a dozen times, and the waiting time is excruciatingly long. Sometimes, the phone just hangs up without any response at all. I find it hard to believe that they are that busy, as nobody has ever picked up the phone. It seems like HCT does not care about their customers once they've taken our money.
I'm still waiting for my vehicle to arrive, and it's stressful not knowing when I can expect it to arrive. Despite their lack of customer service, I am hoping that they will deliver my car safely and promptly. I will update this review if and when I receive my vehicle.
Hawaii Car Transport review: Terrible experience, sneaky fees, and poor customer service. Avoid at all costs!
I used Hawaii Car Transport recently to ship my car from one island to another and my experience with them was not great. I was surprised to find out that they charged me extra for using my credit card! Additionally, they also sneaked in insurance at a hefty price of $195 which, in my opinion, was totally unnecessary since the insurance on my car would have covered any damage that could have potentially happened while in transit.
Although they claimed that cargo is only insured for a certain amount, I later found out that my insurance company had me covered. But of course, they didn't tell me that in the beginning. To add insult to injury, they refused to give me a refund even when I showed them proof that I had rejected their insurance. They still charged me $195 plus an additional 3% for using my credit card.
Furthermore, I was disappointed to find out that their customer service wasn't great either. Once I had given them my money, they wouldn't answer their phone when I had questions or concerns. It was frustrating to say the least. Overall, I believe this company is just plain awful and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
In fact, I think Pasha should consider dropping them altogether. I even suspect that they might be affiliated with Matson shipping, another company that has a questionable reputation. My advice? Just avoid Hawaii Car Transport altogether. They're nothing but a bunch of thieves!
Inadequate Communication: My Experience with Hawaii Car Transport
I had some trouble with Hawaii Car Transport. I booked them to transport my car and they told me it would arrive on a certain day. Well, it didn't come on that day, or the next one. I couldn't get a hold of anyone on the phone either, which made things even more frustrating. When I finally did talk to someone, they sent me to three different places to find out where my car was. Each time, I had to talk to someone else! And then, after it finally arrived, we didn't even get a call to tell us it had come in. We had to call around to find out. The car looked okay, though. I just think that Hawaii Car Transport needs to be better about telling people what's going on. It shouldn't be my job to hunt down my car!
Hawaii Car Transport Review: Good Service, But Attention to Detail Lacking
Let me tell you about my experience with Hawaii Car Transport. I recently had my vehicle transported, and I have to say, so far so good. However, when I went to pick up my car from Horizon on November 25th, 2014, there were some issues that I encountered.
I received a message on my landline the night before stating that my car was ready for pick-up on Wednesday the 19th. However, I was not contacted on my cell phone, which was the number listed as my second contact. I have my phone with me 24/7, and I wondered why they didn't contact me there. I even double-checked my booking document to make sure my mobile phone was listed, and it was!
After a bit of a frantic search to find out what happened caused my car to sit in the sun and rain for SEVEN days, I finally reached Trisha, who was very nice. However, she informed me that they did not have my cell number on file. This was incredibly frustrating, as I had provided it when I made the booking. I expected that they would pay attention to detail and make sure all my information was correct.
Although Trisha was apologetic, it was too late to prevent any further damage to my car due to the weather. She did offer to move it under a tent until I came to pick it up, which I appreciated. However, I was still disappointed that Hawaii Car Transport didn't take care of my vehicle as well as I expected them to.
Overall, Hawaii Car Transport did an okay job, but their attention to detail was lacking. It was frustrating to have to deal with the consequences of their mistake. If you decide to use their service, I would suggest following up with them to make sure they have all your correct information before you transport your car.
Disappointing Service From Hawaii Car Transport - Don't Trust Them To Deliver On Time
So, I'm here to tell you about my experience with Hawaii Car Transport. I gotta say, I wasn't too impressed with their service. When I booked my car transport with them back in November, I made it super clear that I needed to pick up my car no later than January 2nd in Oakland. I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time for the transport, you know what I mean? I mean, that's their job, right? To get my car where it needs to go on time.
But, when I got to the port on January 2nd, they told me my car wouldn't be ready for pickup for a few days! Can you believe it? I was completely in panic mode. I called up Hawaii Car Transport right away and the agent explained to me that the ship arrived on January 2nd, but it takes a few days to unload all the containers of cars. What a load of baloney! That's not what they told me when I booked with them. I trusted them to get my car there on time, and they completely dropped the ball.
Because of their mistake, I ended up having to shell out even more money for hotel accommodations, train fare, and taxi fare. And, to make matters worse, I lost a lot of productivity since I was counting on having my car with me on January 2nd. Can you blame me for being frustrated? I don't want to deal with that kind of hassle again, so I'll definitely be using a different transport company for my next vehicle.
Overall, I wouldn't really recommend Hawaii Car Transport. They might seem like a good deal at first, but you're better off going with someone else who can actually get the job done on time.
