Be careful
Be careful. The service department at Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn will give you a quote for labor and parts at one price, but then they will bill you a lower amount. They won't show you the slip that the service technician charges. I was quoted $2250 for parts and labor, but when I brought my own parts, the bill ended up being higher than the original quote at $2450! I had to argue with them to bring it down to the $2250, even though it should have been much lower since I'm only paying for labor. They said the labor rate on the bill was $1950 for me, but what they charged themselves in accounting was different and they refused to show me. The car was put together in less than 8 hours. How do I know? I brought the parts in at 3pm on Tuesday and the next day at 11am, the car was ready. Unless they worked all night to change and install a timing chain, I call it very shady. To top it all off, my car battery was dead the very next day at 7am, and I picked it up on Wednesday at 4:30pm. That's the last time I go to Hawk Ford for service. If I could give no stars, I would.
I've been buying cars from Hawk Ford for 20 years
I've been buying cars from Hawk Ford for 20 years. In early April, I took my Ford Escape, which I bought from Hawk Ford on September 24, back to them. My 2014 Ford Escape came with a 6-year warranty. I brought it in because it was leaking oil from the top of the truck, and I explained to them that the truck would stop working after about an hour of driving and wouldn't start again until it had cooled off for an hour or more. However, they didn't fix that problem. Hawk Ford called me to let me know that the truck was fixed. The next day, after I went to the store and returned home, I parked the car. Thirty minutes later, the truck wouldn't start at all. It didn't make any sound. So, after it cooled off overnight, I got up in the morning and took it back to them, explaining once again that the truck wouldn't start. They kept my truck for six weeks, but no one called me to update me on anything. When I called Hawk Ford to ask about a rental car, they told me that they no longer offer rental cars. However, I had paid for a service contract that cost $3900. I was without a rental car for six weeks, and I still had to go to work. I work for the City of Chicago. So, my question to them was how I was supposed to get to work every day and do my job. Their response was that they don't offer rental cars anymore. I wanted my money back for not getting a rental car for six weeks. I will never buy another Ford car again.

My problem is that they sold me a car with a problem in the engine block milling
My problem is that they sold me a car with a problem in the engine block milling. Now the car won't start and they expect me to pay for a new motor. I can't afford it, and now I'm stuck with a car that I still owe money on, but it's useless after *** miles.
I took my car to Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn on September 16th for service
I took my car to Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn on September 16th for service. They had to keep my car overnight, so they gave me a loaner from Enterprise and said they would cover the costs. They told me I only had to pay taxes on the rental, which was around $8 per day. On the 19th, I returned the rental car to Hawk Ford, and they said they would give it back to Enterprise. However, I got a bill from Enterprise for $106.66, even though it should have been around $30 after 3 days. I've called them many times about this issue, but they keep ignoring my calls.
I went to Hawk Ford's website and filled out their application
I went to Hawk Ford's website and filled out their application. After that, I sent in an offer, got approved for financing, and scheduled a time to pick up my new car. But when I called to confirm the next steps just 10 minutes later, the saleswoman told me that they had increased the price of the car by $10,000. I have screenshots of the approved offer that I submitted, and yet they still added $10k to the price, even though their own website had the sticker price listed. I asked why this happened, and she explained that there was a shortage of cars and tried to convince me to buy a different used car instead. This kind of behavior is clearly unethical for a car dealer.

On Oct 30, 2020, me and my dad went to Hawk Ford
On Oct 30, 2020, me and my dad went to Hawk Ford. We were checkin' out this 2020 Ford Fusion S. They pointed us towards the SE model. They said they'd give it to us for 22,886 with 6,000 in help from Ford. They gave us two options for payments. The first one was 16,886 with 5000 down, and an interest rate of 3.25%. The other deal was 19886 at .9% interest with 5000 down. We said we'd think about it. The next day, my dad went back. He agreed to the first deal with 3.25% interest, but when he looked at the paperwork, it said 7.25%. He didn't know until he signed it. When he showed 'em the paperwork, they said he agreed to it. Even though they told us somethin' else. Watch out for these guys. They're cheaters and liars.
I bought a car from Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn in July
I bought a car from Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn in July. I traded in my 2017 *** Escape for a 2022 EcoSport. However, the EcoSport started giving me problems just two days later. They claimed to have fixed the brake issues, but after two weeks, the same problems occurred again. I contacted the salesperson, ***, and he assured me that he would make things right. They put me in a new car with *** miles on it. However, this car also had issues. The brakes made a terrible noise and there was a rumbling sound while driving. I took it back to the dealership and they said they fixed it, but the car is worse than ever. I just want this problem resolved as it is affecting my health. I am 65 years old and was hoping to have a reliable car for my retirement. I have already sent my paperwork to the state attorney and I'm seeking assistance in resolving this matter.
My car is only getting **** mpg when it's supposed to be 28 in the city and 34 on the highway
My car is only getting *** mpg when it's supposed to be 28 in the city and 34 on the highway. I was informed by *** auto that this was the correct mileage in my recent conversations. I feel like I was wrongly informed and wouldn't have bought the car if I knew this. That's what I was told when I bought it last year. The car is only 8 months old with *** miles. Hawk auto informed me to come get it checked out, but the person I emailed back never responded. His name is ***. I live an hour away, so I don't want to drive all the way over there for nothing and don't want to be charged to fix this when the car should be getting the correct mileage. I've also gotten second opinions, and the other two *** dealers said this should not be happening and *** auto needs to fix this. So I'm extremely frustrated. Please fix this problem.
My husband went to get his truck fixed
My husband went to get his truck fixed. He had the warranty since he's had the car since May. The assistant manager, Paul, looked at the truck and said that the crack in the engine was due to animal damage. We live in a subdivision and not a wooded area. There are no woods around us nor wandering animals. When my husband tried to explain that and show Paul his warranty, Paul would not look at it and continued to charge $1010 to fix it. Paul was very rude to my husband the whole time. When my husband asked to speak with the service manager, Jamie, Paul went to get him and Jamie agreed with Paul and also would not look at the warranty. Also, when my husband asked for a rental car from there, they made him get one at an Enterprise since my husband did not buy his car from that dealership. He had to leave his car there for them to look at it and possibly fix it, so he needed a rental car.
On August 6-8, 2022, we bought a 2022 mache from Hawk Ford in Oak Lawn
On August 6-8, 2022, we bought a 2022 mache from Hawk Ford in Oak Lawn. We paid extra to have the license plates delivered to us since we reside in ***. However, our temporary license plates expired on 11/06/2022, and we still haven't received the plates from Hawk Ford. They rely on a subcontractor to handle the plate procurement process, but it seems like there's been a delay. Now, we're stuck in a situation where we can't drive the vehicle legally without plates, and we're worried about getting a ticket. We've tried calling more than four different people, but our most recent attempts on Friday 11/4 were unsuccessful. No one returned our calls. Initially, back in August, they mentioned that they couldn't speed up the state's plate processing, but we're skeptical about the third-party company Hawk Ford used and their inability to provide us with details about our plate submission. We believe we should be compensated for the cost of the plates and for the inconvenience of not being able to use our vehicle due to the lack of plates or a valid temporary license. We simply want our plates as soon as possible.
I bought a key fob at Hawk Ford and they said it was an original, but it turned out to be aftermarket and wouldn't program to my car
I bought a key fob at Hawk Ford and they said it was an original, but it turned out to be aftermarket and wouldn't program to my car. I also bought one at another place in *** and they sold me an original one. That key programmed with no issues, so I planned to return to Hawk Ford the next day and get my $200 back for the aftermarket keyfab. The service director, ***, still insists it's an original key and offered to program it for an extra $70. I refused, as it's aftermarket. Even after showing him the original from ***, he still claimed it was original. I also wanted to show him that they sell the one they gave me on Amazon for $34.95. When I showed him the picture, he walked away and refused to listen or look. At one point, he even asked me to leave without giving me an answer. He also made fun of me when I spoke Polish on the phone. I have my original key that doesn't work, the new original key from ***, and the aftermarket key they sold me. I compared all the numbers inside, and the two originals match, while the other one is aftermarket. Even the employees at Hawk Ford confirmed it's aftermarket, so I want my money back.
When we bought the Ford Mustang from Hawk Ford, we were disappointed to find that the speedometer displayed kilometers instead of miles
When we bought the Ford Mustang from Hawk Ford, we were disappointed to find that the speedometer displayed kilometers instead of miles. We didn't want the car to register speed in kilometers since we're in the U.S., and the dealership assured us that they would fix it so that it showed miles per hour. They even gave us a commitment fulfillment document. We left with the car and were told to contact our salesmen to arrange for the fix at a local Ford dealer near our home. The next day, we called the salesman and he said he would let us know how to get it fixed after speaking with Ford corporate. We had to call him every day and all we got were excuses. We kept calling every few days, even though we lived hours away. At first, Brian Ihde answered our calls but he just kept making excuses and said he was waiting to hear from Ford corporate. Eventually, he stopped taking our calls and wouldn't call us back. We left messages every week, and then every month. We also tried to reach the dealership manager, but he never called us back either. Since we couldn't get any help from Hawk Ford, a couple of months ago we took the car to a local Ford dealer, Gutwein Ford in Monon, IN, and asked them to fix it and bill Hawk Ford. But even they couldn't get anyone at Hawk to talk to them about it. So now my car still shows speed in kilometers instead of miles, and we want it fixed like the dealership promised, without any charge.
My car has been with Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn for 6 days now, even though they initially said it would only take 1 day
My car has been with Hawk Ford of Oak Lawn for 6 days now, even though they initially said it would only take 1 day. I brought my car in because the front window windshield wiper fluid wasn't coming out. They did a diagnostic, gave me a price, and I agreed to pay. They also told me that the back fluid pump was broken, which seemed suspicious because it was working fine before. I had tested it multiple times and that's why I decided to bring it in for repair.
When I went to pick up my car and tested the repair, nothing happened. The button that activates the windshield wiper pump still didn't work. So I tried pulling the lever towards me to test the back pump, and I noticed that the front wiper went off but the back wiper also started working. It suddenly made sense why they said the back pump was broken. The button that activates it is actually wired to the front!
I took my car back to them and asked for an explanation. At that time, I wasn't upset. It was a strange issue that clearly needed more work. However, now that I brought it back for them to actually fix it, they are charging me an additional $300+ on top of the $300 I initially agreed to pay, thinking the problem would be resolved. My trust in this situation is completely shattered. They told me that parts of my car that were working fine were broken, but if I gave them more money, they could fix it! They assured me that they understood the problem and the repair would cost $329, and that my car was fixed and ready to go. However, I received a clearly malfunctioning vehicle and was charged more to actually fix it.
The repair has taken three times longer than promised, and I've been told that things would be done only to hear nothing by closing time. Not only have they broken every promise made to me, but they keep asking for more and more money to fix the problems. This is completely unacceptable. I can't believe I can't drive to work or school because of windshield wiper fluid.
