Hollister rude manager

After shopping at hollister for several years, I have to say I am very dissatified with hollister. This weekend, my daughter was in the store in the Concord Mall in wilmington, Delaware with three of her friends and basically got kicked out because there were several of them. She basically put her hand on one of the girl's backs and pushed her toward the door! My daughter had a gift card in her hand and planned to shop at what used to be her favorite store. When I telephoned the manager, she basically
told me that teenagers are not allowed to linger in the store, never explained and never apologized. Not only have they lost our business, but they have also lost the business of several of her friends. That is what happens when you give power to a child. They should be a little bit more careful about who manages their stores! Sounds like discrimination to me!

I agree no one had the right to put their hands on anyone, or assume they were stealing. But i know hollister gets stolen from a lot. I knew people in high school who always wore hollister everyday and i knew they didn't have jobs or have affluent parents. When I asked how they afforded it, they simply told me they stole. So seeing a group of youngsters probably made them think they were trying to steal. Im sorry that happened to your daughter though

Hollister Double billed

I was billed twice at the debit machine, nearly two months later we still not recieved money back. I knew as soon as it happened, but the cashier said she couldn't see it. I called as soon as I got home, no problem they said, send our bank statement showing double billing. So we did, week after week, 3 weeks later we are told it will take up to 21 buisness days.

We continue to get call centre staff who are all "SUPERVISORS" when asked to speak with a manager.

They have said that they have record of reinbursing us, we need to take it up with our bank. Maybe we will have a better response now that our bank is investigating it.

Do not shop at Hollisters unless you can afford to pay twice!

Hollister Over charging at Debit machine

Debit machine froze, when I explained to the cashier that the hand held machine said the transaction went through, she said it did not show up on her computer so we needed to do it again.
When I returned home I found that sure enough I was charged twice. Nearly two months later of Hollisters "call centre" staff telling us it was coming, send more information, we were then told 21 buisness days. On the 21st day when the money was not deposited into our account we called again, only to be told that they had deposited.
Well we asked for proff of that transaction because we did not have the money.
Our bank is now investigaing it.
Terrible customer service, you get the run-around with the call centre, never able to speak with anyone who knows about your complaint or who can do anything about it.

Hollister Embarrassing experience

Hollister Store really don't care about their customers. They turn the music volume is so high, event if you are outside the store you can hear the loud music. Loud music could hurt people eardrum, damage inner ears, give people a big headache, especially to the young people. Loud music could make young people going deft when they get old. When my kids and her friends go there, they are unable to talk to each other in a normal voice, they have to scream at each other due to loud music. It was so embarrassing when they shopped at hollister. I have spoken to the manager about this problem but it seems she did not really care at all. She should care more about what customers need and what make customers feel uncomfortable. This is a big problem and parents must not let your kids go to any stores that have loud music if you really care for your kids.

Correct, and the managers have no control over the volume setting during store operations hours. They are instructed by corporate to turn the music and lighting to a certain level which sets the Hollister store concept and atmosphere. Therefore you should take your complaints to corporate and not the managers and associates because we are unable to do anything about it or change the level no matter how many complaints we get. The music is loud, but it is not set loud enough to damage someone hearing otherwise the company would be putting themselves liable. If you dont like the store setting then yes, like everyone else suggested, shop online or get someone to shop for your or don't shop in the store at all. Cause all stores have their own set-up or operation of how their store is run, some play music loud, others low, others have bright lights, some don't etc. Deal with it.

i agree with her. i work at a&f and we get the same amount of complaint as i did when i used to work at holliser, even though the music is atleast twice as loud & the lights are alot dimmer. if you dont enjoy shopping there, then do it online. it isnt the stores fault you cant handle the cali lifestyle.

well if you can hear the music outside you shouldn't go in. If you have an issue with the atmosphere, then you should simply shop online.

Hollister JESS rude maanger

Manager/ counter girl JESS is rude and the employees wear strapless clothess with huge boobs hanging on counter. must be new 21st century dress code. Wretched..

I come in 4 exchange .but had a question.
****"Can i make an exchange without receipt, it at home, i can get it and come back later if have too."****

JESS took over the counter forcing a store credit cause i wasnt prepared for exchange. i was inquiring so i wasnt ready for exchange.(My Receipt was at home in drawer HA THE ONE time i wanna get organized!)after breaking away from her hateful download on me, i get the clothes 4 exchange she tells me i rude and she dont have to do the exchange.

i tell her "do wutever u want too and ur the rude one".

JESS, manager, throws my shirts in bag and tosses bag across counter my direction. When i ask 4 manager she saays she's it and becomes very clear that she owns the store...Right LOL!

! so i had to get store security to get ionfo off her for complaint and store security said she would not give the store phone number.story gets better cause i return w receipt hours later and next counter girl is rude too...

upon return to this store i had my transaction ready. I am prepared with exchange meaning correct sized items IN HAND(JESS the manager made SURE i knew proper procedure from earlier visit at 1-2pm), receipt, proper ID AND BOTH items in bag FROM Hollister. Handed it nicely with my 15 yr daughter by side."Like to make exchange please."

She says nothing for 3 minutes poking at register and then" That will be 15.$ blah blah.cents"

AS sweet as a possibly could I stated" Are the shirts not the same price ? I just wanted an exchange for the same shirts i brought you.?"

She snarls " You handed me only one shirt"

I remark."Uh no, I handed you the bag and the other shirt is in the bag i guessing it still in there."

She rolls her eyes looks in side the bag and blows her breath going back to poking at the register. I look at my daughter
begin to talk about the music on speaker playing n how I think i seen them at the tavern n Next town over and then ... THE COUNTER lady BLASTS me "IS THERE A PROBLEM?!"

Startled, amazed that this lady 5'2 long straight black hair maybe of foreign desent is behind the counter representing an upscale storefront with an aquamarine halter shirt size DD boobs hanging on counter barking curtly at a customer not even engaging coversation with her. Upon looking at her, acting with GHETTO attitude. Completely floored! Keeping my composure I smiled dand said "No honey we are not even talking about you, " I went back to my conversation with wide eyes.

Now I am waiting for the end of the transaction and waiting and waiting and miss counter girl of the year doesnt say thank you or have a nice day but in the same Ghetto attitude "Is There Any thing else?" ...

Now i am thinking they share JESS's attitude in group meetings and this is how she trains her crew or there is a seriuos storefront problem.
I will not return to that store, nor give my kids money to support the chain when shopping. Now I love to shop and went to Game stop the same day with an exchange and got a totally different attitude. Which happens to be right across from Hollister. AMAZING!

oh yes, I see the imaginary words now. right there! you see it? They were playing a song I recently heard because I was at the Tavern the next town over, and I was talking about who the band was playing the song.

Whatever! I am sure the store has video camera so pull it!

Seems you commented on everything that was the exact OPPOSITE of the story! So YOU are FABRICATING.

I never even argued with anyone there! I never WANTED THE EXCHANGE.. I HAD A QUESTION if I needed the receipt!

I even informed her that I had the receipt at home, if she wanted me to wait I could, and that it was no big deal, I could come back later.

She chose to throw the clothes in the bag and be rude cause I was being nice.

And I NEVER said I complained about the music! NOT ONE TIME! UH HELLO? So who is the fabricator?

I see now why they dragged JESUS to the cross...No one takes the time to listen to the real story and persecute people over things THAT WERE NEVER IN THE STORY! JUST WOW

You... never.. complained.. about... the.. music.. hmmm;

" I look at my daughter

While yes, it may be even difficult for you, the author, to understand your poorly written rant you do indeed claim to have started chittering about the music volume not being to your liking to your poor daughter.
You come off as a big drama queen to me. Could you try complaining about breasts being everywhere? I mean really, that's the one thing your complaint is miss-.. oh wait.
Also, why the girls ethinicity, height, or look was even mentioned, I don't know. Can you say bigot?

I couldn't really make it through half of that due to the poor grammar, but it seems like you had a hard time. I don't know if this was fabricated, and the previous poster claims to be from the store, so I'm going to take their word for it. Some people just have a vendetta against HCo, and seem to think that the people that work there are all the same and that we all have some sort of control over the atmosphere. I worked for 2 years as a model, and now five months of Lead Stock. I work with some of the kindest, and complimentary people at our little store. I find that when the customers are nice, and not sarcastic, everything runs a lot smoother.

I am an associate at this particular Hollister Co. location, and I can tell from reading your comments that you are fabricating a lot of this story as well as exaggerating about the attitudes you recieved in the store. First off, our exchange and return policy is located on the back of each receipt, sometimes it's printed twice on the receipt, which explains our whole policy about returns or exchanges without a receipt. I'm quite sure you shop in a lot of retail stores and a lot of companies will only allow an even exchange when you are returning an item without a receipt. Some won't even honor a return without the receipt so our store policy is quite lenient with that. Second, if you should of been prepared and brought the receipt with you if you wanted the transaction to go through smoothly. No questions or issues would occurred if you had your receipt or some form of proof these items were purchased, if in case they were gifts, but they were not. I'm quite sure your description of "attitudes" were fabricated and exaggerated, no one in the store comes off as being rude or being rude to a customer in that way unless they felt disrespected. I'm quite sure you were a frequent shopper in the store and know the loud music, and dark lighting atmopshere. Take it up with corporate, we have no control over the noise level, climate, or lighting in the store. It's a store concept our store is suppose to look that way, so if you have a problem with it take it with corporate and not us, or bad talk the store in front of us. And third, "ghetto" is an offensive term, I"m quite sure no one was acting or talking "ghetto" towards you in our store. Everyone that is an employee was chosen to be an employee based on their work ethic, personality, maturity, and how they present themselves to others in public. No one in our store comes off or appear to be "ghetto" or "bimbos" As you can tell our store is a California style clothing store, so of course we are going to wear tank tops, and tanks shirts in the store. Most people in our store wear a top or a sweater with it, you might of caught an employee with their top off due to the store temperature, which can be very warm at times. And even if an employee was wearing a tank top I'm sure they wasn't hanging out of it. Because that would violate our look policy and they would of been informed to change attire. So sorry if you felt you had a "bad" experience at our store but it sounds like you are just making up a lot of this. And if you had a problem with our store, managers, or employees you need to email this to corporate not disrespect or slander a manager or an employee online.

Hollister Rabbit fur

My friend bought a little sweater from Hollister & she brought to mine and a lot of others attention that the tag said.."5% Rabbit Fur"... are you joking me? you have to put even just the smallest amount just to jack up your already stupid high prices?
i have a rabbit myself, and even if it was any other animal hair i think it would be ridiculous. it's not like the sweater had any fur on it, just IN it... which is ridiculous and not needed.
seriously so many people i know are disgusted by that store and any other company who puts animal skins or furs into clothing or ANYTHING for that matter.

You realize they just shave the rabbit, right? They don't hurt it or anything. In fact it's quite benneficial to the rabbit otherwise they can overheat and the like. It's just like shearing a sheep, only smaller, and with thinnier shears. :P
This seems like a trivial complaint. Seeing as you (nor I) knows what advantages that 5% could be giving we can't really comment on whether it should or should not be in the sweater. Speak to the manufacturer. For all we know it helps keep the sweater soft.

Hollister overcharging customers online

I placed an order for hollister clothing online on the website.

The company charged me in british pounds which i later found out when they sent me a receipt for the purchase.

I contacted them 4 times with no response to query whey the charge was so much higher than the USD dollar price and why they also charged me in british pounds.

This order was made using a usa credit card with a usa billing and mailing address.

Hollister ignored me for days and on the day the order was shipped they contacted me saying there was nothing they could do to help me.

I suggested they adjust the charge to reflect the correct USA dollar prices but they refused. I then requested a return be processed and they agreed to that but charged me handling fees and shipping fees to return the product.

OUtrageouse - it took 10 email exchanges and they refused to accept their error in the order.

Not only do i have to pay these unnecessary shipping and handling charges - i have to reorder the goods to get a correct usd price and pay for shippingcosts again.

Company has poor service and i do not reccommend ever shopping online with them as they are extremely rigid and unhelpful .

Hollister Horrible & Rude Employees; Can't See or Hear

Hollister obviously hires very young help and does not train them in customer service. I bought a number of items there yesterday (on sale); I asked the checkout person (young woman) if there were any coupons or a credit card I could get that would give me a percentage off the first purchase -- she disparagingly answered, "No."

Additionally, she did not greet me when I came to the checkout. And here is the worse part; upon purchasing my items she did NOT say "Thank You." This is unheard of -- customers are thanked everywhere; at the grocery, the gas station; but NOT at this low-class attitude- laden Hollister counter!

The counter person threw things in a bag; did not fold them neatly...since she did not say "thank you, " I said "You're welcome, " she has so much disdain for the customer and is so self centered in her 17-year-oldish narcissism, she did not even "get" what I was saying, nor did she even acknowledge me or give me any eye contact.

Hollister has shameful training; a horrible store!

One rude employee shouldn't make you denounce a whole chain. They don't have coupons because they don't advertise anywhere. They also don't have coupons because they always have stuff on clearance. If you hit it at the right time you actually get a really good deal.

Hollister Online service

July 20, 2009

I just received an exchange in the mail today from an order I placed 2/9/09. I find this caliber of service to be completely unacceptable. I contacted this support service on the status of the return twice and was never given any information aside from "we will process it when we receive it". I find it difficult to believe that the exchange took 5 months to reach the Hollister warehouse. Due to the inappropriately lengthy period of time that it took for me to receive the package, I was forced to shop elsewhere for the products I initially order from Hollister. I do not usually provide feedback for online orders, but I have never been so disappointed with an exchange. I have sent the products back and hope to receive my refund before December.

Hollister perfume

My daughter loves to shop at Hollister and I allow her to take advantage of their clearance specials. It would be so fun to shop with her at her favorite store but unfortunatley I can only tolerate about 3 minutes in the store due to the heavy scent of perfume. I have had several asthma attacks and a menieres attack (vertigo) after visiting the store. I think the policy of spraying perfume every 15 minutes is absurd. Honestly, I think that someday it will commonplace to see lawsuits from young employees who develop emphazema or breathing problems from working in the kid of environment. No one likes the perfume so why do it! I am very upset about this.

I don't have anything against one of these stores selling perfumes and having samples on hand that get occasionally sprayed, but the entire local mall smells of perfume from these stores' constant spraying practices. Abecrombie and Hollister both spray their clothes at my local mall (Cape Cod). It is impossible to escape the smell because it wafts out of the stores. I shouldn't have to smell it when I go to Radio Shack or Best Buy.
The people who work there are putting themselves at risk for lung problems in the future.

I have never noticed perfume at the Hollister by my house, and I sort of feel jealous and wonder what I am missing out on. I happen to love perfume and have no problem with walking into a cloud of it (Free sample?) unless my mouth is open! Yuck. My disability has me in a chair and although their stores are cramped as hell, I can still get around them so I would imagine if asked they would accomodate not spraying while shopping. They seem to be very compliant with the laws respecting access. I don't think fragrance sensitivity is very common anyway.

Now, as far as working, you cannot imagine how hard it is to find a job when you aren't considered normal. I would suspect that somebody desperate enough to put up with perfume (or whatever) is just that, desperate. Think I will make a trip to the mall today and sample that perfume!

I think it would be smarter to just shop online as a consumer...but if you are an employee and it affects a known disability, they have to make accomodations. Of course they can just fire you...but this would make many problems for them legally speaking. Severe allergies can fall under a disability by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If an employee does have an ADA-protected disability, the employer might not have any choice but to ban fragrances. To say a person has the choice of not working there is correct in a sense, however it could be considered a required accomodation if the employee decides they need the job.

Yeah, I don't really get this complaint. And the mention of lawsuits? If people are developing headaches/breathing problems they have the option to stop working/shopping there.
You don't have to go into the store. The smell obviously doesn't bother your daughter enough to stop visiting.
Would you go into the Disney store and start [censor]ing about all the stuff with Mickey on it? It's what the store is known for and I think you're just looking for things to kvetch about.

the cologne is sprayed every hour and you can clearly smell it before entering the store. If this bothers you then you have the option of not entering the store and shopping online. it is actually an incredibly smart marketing strategy that not only draws customers into the store but has helped to make A&F and H.co have some of the most popular fragrances on the market.

you are an idiot. the policy is to spray every hour, and how would you know that if you dont work there? as for people not liking the smell, its one of the most popular fragrances out there. just becuase you dont like it doesnt mean the company should change their marketing strategy. the smell draws people in and makes them notice the store. most in a good way. get a life.

Hollister Everything

In a regular work day for me (a lead stock) at Hollister includes several repetitive tasks.

1. When I get to work I pull eUSR (Items that have been sold and need to be refilled). Then put it on the sales floor.
2. I pull SPR’s or Priority. (Items that come straight out of shipment and then go to the sales floor if needed.)
3. I then finish processing shipment, which is usually anywhere from 1 to 5 hours of work.
4. I then take a 15 minute lunch break, if that, and then get right back to work.

Then, throughout the rest of the evening, I have a couple more things to do (usually in order of current importance).

1. Pull eUSR repeatedly to make sure it doesn’t get to high.
2. Perform stockroom maintenance (Organizing a list of certain bays, making sure everything is labeled correctly, etc)
3. Fold backstock (Items that were returned, or brought back because they weren’t on the sales floor, including any items that were removed during floorset changes.)
4. Clean the stockroom (Sweeping, wiping down, etc…)

Based on how any given day goes, I could have tons of eUSR to fill, 10 boxes of shipment (which mind you would have more shipment processing hours then I get in a day), and a SPR list the size of my leg. Mind you all this is supposed to be done in 6.5 hours. I actually get 8.5 on Fridays (including lunch break).
I found most Lead Stocks in other Hollisters around here have been doing it since the time that they actually got 40 hours a week. They had recently cut hours before I got my job, and still expected me to get good enough to finish it all within a few months.

My complaint:
I have 32 hours (34.5 if I don’t take lunches), to do a job that has required 40 hours in the past. Stop paying your CEO so much and either give me more hours, or pay me more. FYI: I got written up yesterday for not getting all the backstock put away before I had to leave, and not sweeping.
On that subject: It amazes me you can actually get people with degrees to be your managers. Not only do I work more than my assistant managers and get paid much less, I don’t think they get paid enough either. Part of your company’s problem is that people with degrees ARE getting hired! Anyone with half an ounce of logic knows they could be making much more with that degree instead of working at Hollister. So it pains me to see people with such knowledge, stoop to work for such a Company.

One last note:
You guys lose more money from shrink than from anything else. Here’s a tip from a lowly Lead Stock who doesn’t have a degree: Take those gaudy, god-awful surf boards down from behind the registers and hang them from the ceiling or something. Install shelves in their place, remove your perfumes and colognes from the sales floor, and keep them behind the counter on these shelves. Tada! Probably one of the easiest stolen items just made so much safer. Maybe with the money you’d save, you could actually afford some cameras that do something.

Also, stop being such pansies about things! Grow some balls and prosecute people who steal from you! “If a customer admits to stealing, ask them to leave the store.”(Quoted from the Training video) What the deuce is that? Of COURSE people are going to steal from you!

Hollister: Great clothes, Crappy management.

I was one of those "500 something stores across the country" that got rid of the lead stock positions. That was untill they moved me up from a&f to hollister. I was getting paid around $10 an hour at a&f, getting 5-10 boxes a day. Now I get anywhere from 10-50. (I got 42 boxes one day last month.) Now granted I do have help almost everyday from PTI's or models, but the [censor] of it is that I am getting paid the SAME EXACT amount of money to do 3-5 times the work as before. You would think that working at a higher volume store would move your hourly rate up, but no. I am not complaining about my job, I really do like it..not because of the work...because of the people that I work with. Most of the managers and other employees are pretty damn fun to work with. But I should be getting paid more money to do more work. Actually, at my old store one of the part time employees had a motto. "Minimum effort for minimum wage." I thought it was pretty accurate. So basicly, the lead stock position is "kinda get [censor] on alot", With 10-50 boxes a day they expect me to do the same responsibilities as before. Pulling eUSR, filling out SPR and putting them on the floor, stockroom maintenance, cleaning, helping out train new employees, helping with prep, doing size checks, answering questions, ect. They should spend some time up at HO looking at what they ask of a FTS. Maybe even be a FTS for a day and see how much that we really do and maybe pay us and managers a little more. $10 an hour might be awesome for someone that gets 5-10 boxes a day but not for someone who gets 10-50, and not a manager of a store that gets that amount.

@TKS they shouldn't have written you up for having left over backstock, you should have talked to your DM about that. Having leftover backstock isn't the end of the world. I mean if you were just sitting around doin nothing all day and let it sit there then thats another story but if you were doing your job all day and ran out of time, thus having leftover backstock then you shouldn't have been written up.

You're complaining about having a job.. in today's economy? Tell ya what, quit. Give the job to someone who wants it and is willing to work for their money. Yeah, retail is a [censor] and a half (coming from someone who's worked retail since I can remember) but it's a job. It's money in your pocket. Be glad you are employed.

eh. nicetoknowyou is being a [censored]r. Busier stores get a lot more hours typically for processing shipment and it might take that long and it might not but its alot easier to get done when you aren't the only one doing it. I'm an SM and even i'll say the FTS position does kinda get ### on alot. Which would explain why they just eliminated the position from like 500 something stores across the country.

If you have an issue with your job then quit. I work at an incredibly busy story and my FTS manages to process about 20 boxes a day, pull eUSRs, and fill SPRs. You clearly have a time management issue.

Amen to that! I also am a Lead Stock, and I completely get where you are coming from. I get 39 hours a week, and it still isn't enough time to get everything done. We have been getting 20+ boxes a day for the past two weeks, and it is all I can do to finish it each day. Don't even get me started about the hundreds of eUSRs to pull daily, or the mountains of back stock and go backs they force on me. I have to delegate all the tasks to the PTI, and finish Stockroom Maintenance with enough time for the aforementioned tasks! If I have to work like a manager, maybe they should make me a manager? But wait, I don't have enough college experience.

Hollister was my favorite store until recently. I have spent alot of money in this store. Hollister They critizized my daughter

Last winter break i took my daughter to the mall. She just moved to a fancy neighborhood with fancy kids who wear Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, and American Eagle. She just wanted to fit in. So we went into Aeropostale first . she got two tops then we went to american EAgle. she got a pair of shoes. AS we went into Hollister my daughter looked so excited. I felt happy for her. Until miss perfect walked up. she told my daughter than nothing her would suite her and that she should check out Aeropostale. I stormed out of the store sorry we ever came. My daughter was in peices. The whole mall was starring. I looked at abercrombie and noticed it was worse. You should be ASHAMED HOLLLISTER AND ABERCROMBIE we will never by from you again. You are pathetic.

well i think that they should just fire the employee. the whole store isnt stuck up... well i guess that depends WHICH one you go to but yea if i saw someone say that to a little girl i would seriously confront them and ask to speak to their boss b/c that is unaccepatable... i was overweight when i was 12 and every other girl in my middle school was wearing hollister and abercrombie tees while i was stuck wearing pacsun and wetseal because of the sizes. Like dont get me wrong though i LOVE wetseal and pacsun but i just felt like [censor] b/c i was intimidated by hollister omg imagine if someone sed that to ME when i was 12 i was already on the road to annorexia like Omg that pisses me off

I agree that the employee should not be rude, and yes they can be like that in a lot of Hollister stores, just like a lot of employees in any other chain can be. People have bad days which could have been why they were like that but you should encourage your daughter to be herself rather than the same as everyone else. Also people who wear Hollister are not automatically a '[censored] bag' we just like the brand, so we wear it.

which isnt even true. i have worked at two diff. hco stores in two diff. states, and at both everyone was extremelly nice. idk how many times employees have taken little girls, or grandmoms looking for a gift around the store to find the perfect stuff for them. not everyone at hco is mean or rude just like not everyone who wears black is emo.

"...when hollister is meant for REAL popular people!"
Ha ha ha, Hollister is one of those brands where when I see someone wearing it I automatically put them in the "[censored] bag" category. Could there be a more pretentious brand than Hollister?
I realize this image is of someone wearing American Eagle but to me American Eagle and Hollister are synonymous.

Tell your daughter she shouldn't try fitting in. I'm a senior in high school by the way, not a 12 year old, but I was once a 12 year old and moved into a different country, so I understand.

I got hired instead of another girl that was present in the group interview & she was a million times prettier than i will ever be... also we have to approach you when you enter the store & say the tagline like "Hey, What's up" yes it is annoying but it is part of our job... you also have to unstand that we cannot do anything about the sizes lighting or powerful smell... people complain daily as if there is something i can do... sorry but i can't

I think Hollister is a disgrace. It's disgusting how their 'models' are clearly employed by how they look and not on the service that theyc can provide. I have visited stores both in America and the UK, and I can say that the customer service in all the stores I have visited is awful. I worked in Topshop for four years, and nobody was employed simply on how they looked.
I don't find the staff helpful in any way, infact they are extremely annoying! You can't go into the shop without being approached constantly. It makes you feel akward, and almost makes you think they approach you because they think you may be stealing.
Last week I went into the Brighton store, walked through the door and found one of the sales assistants right up in my personal space, telling me to check out their gifts. I don't want this every single time i walk into the shop...it puts me off! Plus, it is clearly rehearsed and fake behaviour, as I have had the exact same words repeated to me on numerous occassions. A simple hello and a smile is more than enough. On top of this, I approached another sales assistant, asking about the sizing of the jeggings and whether they had different leg lengths. The girl gave me short unhelpful answers, as she was talkig to another sales assistant at the time when i approached her. I asked if she reckoned the leg length would be ok for me, and she simply said 'I'm not sure to be honest'. I was always asked this question at work, and I would always assist the customer to the best of my ability.
On a different occassion in the Bluewater store, I was paying for an item at the till, before I even entered my pin, the girl told me my card was declined. This made me annoyed and embarassed as I dont see how it possibly could've declined when I hadnt even entered my pin, and there was certainly enough money in the account! The staff clearly need to be trained to a higher standard. Also, on numerous occassions, there would be a ridiculously long queue of customers, and the sales assistants behind the till would be standing talking to eachother, when people are clearly waiting to be served. Can I just add, that I have so many people moan about how dark your stores are, it's hard to see the prices and colours of your items!
Finally, I think Hollister has got way too big for their boots, and they need to realise that it isnt all about looks.

Hi,

My name is Aleks, and I have an issue HOLLISTER.

2 and half months ago I ordered an MALE Jacket from Hollister Inc on
their on line web site. What was I delivered on 16 of November was
FEMALE Jacket, whole different ITEM from the one that I ordered. OK,
everybody makes mistakes so I thought it's not a big deal. I contacted
them but they told me "we can not deliver this item now but we can
refund the money back". I said "OK" and sent that ITEM by USPS.

It has been almost 2 months from the day that I sent the item back and
I still haven't got the refund.
They said that they still have not received the ITEM. I have sent an
ITEM 7000 miles from USA by USPS and was there within two weeks. So I
really don't believe in that they still haven't received the item.

Please give me some recommendations for this ISSUE.

Sincere,
--
Aleks

At Hollister the customer comes last! HOW? Because the local store only supplies the consumer with an email address to address complaints and no phone numbers for customer service. So when you email customer service they ignore your emails when convenient for them. And when they finally supply you with a phone number of the District Manager, she/he just doesn't answer the phone and when you leave messages, they won't respond. How do I know this? It's over a month now that I'm having to deal with this BS.

Jack_Hollister said: "well actually hollister DOES have an image to uphold about girls from california being skinny because its true! surf girls from cali. are skinny and fit and have a healthy lifestyle." **GAG**

Does that mean no one else outside "cali" can't have a healthy lifestyle?
did you ever think that their lifestyle might include daily trips to the bathroom to throw up their meals so that they fit that image that you have conjured up in your mind. How your simple minded statements make young girls feel like that have to live up to your (and people like you) impossible image. Do you ever think your stupid statements could lay the groundwork for a serious condition that could lead to something fatal?

OH RIGHT! and they all have perfect hair and sparkly eyes and low IQ's. They are dumb and blonde and real skinny... is that what you mean? Hollister caters to a stereotype? A judgement? Hollister has an image to uphold? And wouldn't you think that if they have a target market of a "california girl/guy", wouldn't they just sell exclusively in California? I don't see any oceans or surfing in Kansas or Iowa or Wyoming? So what business do they have setting up shops in states that don't have the California "lifestyle." Now what point would it be selling california clothes outside what you called the "target market". So what you are saying is that ALL surfer kids are (usually- I think is the word you used) slim? What if there was a surfer kid who lived in California, and was blonde and had a low IQ. What if (s)he liked to eat a whole lot and it was the kind of food that made him/her fat. This kid wouldn't meet your criteria for what your stupid theory states. I guess that's where your "usually" word comes in.
Do you know what is really bad for the Hollister stores? It's narrow minded people like YOU! and I would tell you what to do with one of those ###ed surf boards in the store but y0u'd probably just go surfing not knowing what I am talking about anyway.
Carry on in your vapid lifestyle. You have no depth.

well actually hollister DOES have an image to uphold about girls from california being skinny because its true! surf girls from cali. are skinny and fit and have a healthy lifestyle. Fit and healthy is the image the company wants to advertise. beacause they dont have tv ads the company needs the girls who buys the clothing to advertise it for them instead. thats the reason. Like i mean no offence when i say this but bigger girls dont really give off a positive vibe about hollister because it doesnt look good on them and then people will be turned off by the store.

Hollister Awful everything

I ordered $145.45 worth of clothing from Hollister on August 20th. As of this date, October 13th, they have not arrived. According to US Post Office Tracking, the package has been sitting since August 22nd. Hollister does not care that I have not received it, since technically they did ship the items. However, they should care enough to call the Post Office from THEIR end as the shipper and get this order to me. The Post Office says Hollister uses the CHEAPEST method of ground shipping involving pallets, where hundreds of packages have the SAME tracking number. They sit until a truck is available. Every other package gets priority over this el cheapo method. By the way, the only live Post Office person I got was my local PO guy, when you call the 800 number for Track & Confirm a recording says I have to call the shipper!

So my hands are tied since Hollister doesn't care anymore, they already took my money. I wrote the Calif. headquarters, no response. For a $15.00 shipping charge they need to CHANGE their method. My items could have been stuffed into a $4.95 Priority package for a 2-day delivery. So I fault both Hollister and the Post Office on this situation, but as the shipper Hollister needs to get on the ball and ship like Amazon.com does, in 3 days for half the shipping charge on their items.

This is a big warning to anyone considering ordering from Hollister for the holidays. You would need to spend $25.00 for Air shipping if you want your items quickly. I won't be ordering from them again online, never!

First of all online customer service is BAD. I spoke to about 6 people not one was professional. Not one fixed my transaction. I purchased with a gift card, which covered my purchases. I had a balance that I decided to use in store. .Well I came to find out that mt whole amount on my online wasnt deducted. So with the purchase I made in store made my online insufficient in funds once it was charge. I called to fix it and no one did. I even ended up with a zero balance gift card. Now I have to wait for corporate to get back at me. My xmas purchased is uncertain at this moment. Worst experience ever.

I have spent a lot of money at this store. I ordered online some sandals and a shirt that was on Sale the total amount was $19.50 I ordered it to go with my bathing suit I just bought from Hollister in the Mall. I paid 18 to have it shipped the next day, well not here and I called the 866 number they wont let you complain or speak with someone. The Manager would not give there name. I am very pissed because I needed that stuff to wear to the beach. I will never order online from Hollister again.

Hollister customer service is horrible! Made up some BS crap about if I dont report something missing within 30days it's not their fault. Well guess what, I called within 2 weeks, told me to wait a little more, package is coming. 1 month after I ordered, they told me it should arrive any day. 2 months, we cant do anything now. WTF. Hope they go bankrupt so the person in charge realizes what the damn problem is.

See the problem with the BBB is that anyone can file a report and thus effect the rating, if the matter isn't fixed to the complainers standards the matter leaves a ding.
Also I think your argument does lie with FedEx, definitely not Hollister. I've had problems getting packages from Forever21 and Wet Seal but I'm not about to damn a whole company because of it as it's the courier's fault, not the company.
What do you expect Hollister to do? You say you think they should change things... like... what? UPS has just as many delivery problems (and a horrible reputation) and considering you're having a problem with USPS and FedEx, what does that leave them? Shall they carry it to you themselves?

I dont think i'm over reacting, I just clicked on the better business bureau and checked Hollister Co. And fron a scale from A to F they have a C. I know the USPS Is not the greatest but the packages has not arrive to the PO yet. It is still at a Fedex Locaion Somewhere.
And I really think that after many complaints from their customers Hollister should take action and change their shipping services, that obviously are not the best. I order from Gap, OldNavy, Aeropostale and AE.com all the time and they use the Post office as shipping carrier and i have no complaints.

i think you people are over reacting! first of all, the shipping has nothing to do with the company. They did their part, packed the items and sent them off in that big truck that delivers things. Their job was done. Your complaints should go to the mailing system! second, the kids that work in the store don't run the company. just because you see kids working in the store, doesnt mean the entire company is run by teens. If anything, I think you should be thanking hollister for providing so many jobs for teens because finding a job for a teen is hard these days if you dont have any prior experiences in the workforce. i think too many people have hate on their mind and in their hearts. Lighten up, people!

Hollister Terrible experience

Okay Hollister listen up I hope you realize that your clothing is being worn by children as well as adults. And when a 11 year old girl is asking for a gift card from Hollister it is hard for someone to purchase one when they have only two choices of cards to get... one with half naked man on it and the other with a guy and a girl kissing.

The way that I see all of this...is that some people are taking this and being immature about the situation. Hollister Co is purely based off of Southern California styles. ALTHOUGH...I have vacationed in SoCal and no one dresses that way. EVER. But the point of the style is the beach scene. A cute summery look all year round. AND SHAME on u Hollister employees getting on here and laughing at people voicing their concerns. I mean truely u are the ones who disappointed most. I would hate to see how you are face to face with a customer. It is you shallow, cold hearted, and immature...i-think-i-am-to-good-for-the-real-world people why a place like Hollister earns a bad name. Here is an idea...grow a heart. It feels better beating than a bottomless black hole. Parents have EVERY right to be concerned about their children and what their young eyes are viewing. Sex sells now-a-days and its sickening. To think a girl must spread her legs to become "popular" or to be noticed sickens me. To dress provactive at 11, 12 up until or past the age of 18...girls are demeaning themselves. So yes a parent has every right to worry. I'm sorry Hollister Co employees that all you little girls like to dress like a slut. Your mommies and daddies must not care enough about you to give you some guidance. So really everyone is entitled to an opinion and to see Hollister Co employees not respect it, or attempt to help the situation makes me sick.

Hollister is a store for teens I have gotten gift cards since i was in 4th grade for christmas. My parents are great conservative parents and wouldn't buy something they felt were inappropriate. Just buy it for her and you keep a hold of it. Its not like she will be shopping with out you.

You could always avoid the bare chested male (gasp) gift card and just buy your mall's generic gift card.
Really, it's the store's right to put whatever they want on it (as long as it's legal) and if your 11 year old will be scarred by a picture of boy nipples then perhaps she's not ready to shop there. You wouldn't bring her into VS where there are pictures of breasts everywhere (or if you do why are you compaining about 3x5 pictures of man chest?) so don't bring her where there are pictures of anything you, the parent, find too provacitive. But that's YOUR choice and no fault of the company what you cannot handle.

Hollister is proactive in making the age group 14-18 deaf..LOL

Hollister Co. stores are known to play an eclectic selection of alternative rock and pop music..[15] One investigation measured the level of sound at 90 decibels.[15] OSHA requires employers to provide ear protection to employees exposed to decibel levels 90 or over.

Parents now you know why you have such a hard time getting kids to listen...Cause they CANT HEAR!

I went to Hollister to use my two $25 promotional gift cards that I received when I spent money at Hollister during the Christmas holiday. NEVER did anyone inform me that these cards would expire, and no where on the card does it mention that these cards will expire.
When I complained at the store, they told me that MANY people were complaining and gave me a card to email the main Hollister email address. I obviously wasn't the only one that wasn't aware that these cards would expire.
I sent an email, and their response was that if I had checked on their website or if I had been a "friend" of Hollister on Facebook, then I would have known that these cards were going to expire.
Really? As a customer I have to be the one responsible for checking to see if a gift card is going to expire? Even when nothing was leading me to believe that the cards would expire?
I was going to complain on the better business bureau website, but Hollister is already rated an "F" so I am not going to waste my time. That company obviously doens't care about its customers.
I will never shop there again.

I purchased 2 gift certificates for my cousin's daugher on 12/21 for $150.00. She placed an order days after Christmas and the order was cancelled. Hollister continues to tell me that the balance is back on the cards yet when i try to place another order using these gift cards again my order is cancelled. I call Hollister and they refuse to give me NEW gift cards or debit my visa. This has been going on now for 7 weeks. When I ask to speak with a manager they inform me that they are not allowed to transfer the calls. They keep giving me the same answers over and over again that they cards can be used yet again when an order is placed using these cards, the order is cancelled. This is pure robbery... I am disgusted by this store's ethic's that they will take your money and give you nothing in return.

Hollister e-gift card fraud! I purchased something online in Dec.09 and got a $50 e-gift card. Placed an order using this e-gift card, the order was processed, but cancelled in a few days! I could not get any explanation to this except that "place your order again" (yeah.. considering all items I ordered were on sale, but not anymore!). Better yet, when I called to check the balance I was told that the gift card number I entered is invalid. FRAUD!
