I signed online for this card February 2, 2007, thinking that it was a mastercard or visa. I waited two weeks for the card to arrive. Meanwhile then took the 79.95 from my account immediately. When the card arrived I was stunned to see that it was neither a mastercard nor a visa. You have to log into a site and shop for their products and they say they report this to TransUnion. I sent two emails immediately for they was closed. I told them that I thought they were dishonest and that they had deceived me. The very next day I got three emails from this company and also called and was told they would credit me 34.95 back to my account. I said I would contact my attorney general office, then I was place on hold. Okay, we will credit you 59.95 back. I said, you took 79.95 from me, I want all my money back for I never used any of your services nor did I order any of your junk. Needless to say, 20.00 is still outstanding and it will fight for it. I am sorry that you feel you were "scammed". First and foremost, remember that the Horizon Gold Card was designed to help people re-establish their credit. Is this what you are looking to do? It's difficult and very risky to offer high-end items to a customer base that is rebuilding credit. Plus, large items are expensive to ship.

Credit works the same whether you are using a credit card on a shopping site or to purchase gas. Our card is a true credit card that reports back to a major credit bureau every 30 days.

We do have a partner site we can provide you with that offers a Visa. They do require an employment check as well as a credit check. Is your credit score high enough to support being approved for a Visa right now?

Being very familiar with our advertising, I know that Horizon Card Services does not advertise our Gold Card with a Visa or MasterCard logo. That WOULD be deceitful. We also make ALL Terms and Conditions available to applicants during the application process. I've attached a copy in order for you to review again.

We do require all of our customers wishing to cancel to call our Member Services at toll free 1.800.251.6144.

I have received lots of emails from those who have been scammed as I have or have their own doubts about the company. Most have requested a valid number to call. Here is the number to call immediately to cancel.

To those who didn't read everything in the agreement and all before giving up money and personal info..? It does tell you in the agreement that it does not have the Visa/Mastercard logo on it and that it "reports" like a V or MC.
EVERYONE.. READ EVERYTHING BEFORE GIVING PERSONAL INFO OUT..

Yes its an "online catalog" only card. Not a true visa of mastercard. Their stuff is high priced and the interest is high and late fee's are high.. but if you use this for Christmas... say.. "you need to get gifts you have no cash for right now" then yes shop here and pay your payments on time they will report to the credit burea that you are in good standings with them.. but if you don't need to use this type of card DONT.

I agree, with everyone, although it was explained to me upfront that it specific to their products offered online.. the problem that i have is that they dont let you see what they offer before you sign up.. so you sign up and then what? realize their stuff is crap- and then your locked into the contract? i really think they should let you see what they offer before you sign up. to me- that is fraudulent. also- the member id login link is broken. how convenient!

i have a complaint, when i first signed up i was miss lead. my husband called and canceled the card.the money they took out the first time they put back. about a week later i had a few dollars left in my account. the next day i loolked up my acount -78.00 dollars, it was already cancelled, so how are they able to do this when the fund was not there and it was cancelled. can someone give me some advice.

I too have been scammed by these people. They sent me an email but you can vet your sweet rearend I will be calling them today to cancel this supposed crediting card. I hate scamming and liars and they are both.

i applied for the horizon gold card knowing that i would only be able to shop with their online shopping network, but what i didnt know was that they have a plethura of misleading fees. and i havent even spent anything yet and i am being billed what the #@$% IS THAT ABOUT..ALRIGHT SO I GET IT..I dont have any credit so i must really be desperate? NOT! so here is my question to all of you consuners like myself whom have been scammed by this co; I SAY WE BAND TOGETHER AND GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TOGETHER AND SUE THIS MISLEADING CO' RIGHT OFF THE MAP.. i jsu wanted to say that this place is a scam.m ex put in my bank account info and they deducted the money from my account but when i tried to get intouch with them..they wouldnt respond to me..jus let me say that this accoount was in my name not his and i hav a very limited income due to the fact that im disabled with brain damage

just an FYI for you ###s. READ THE FINE PRINT! Do you seriously think that you would get a credit card to use anywhere for a down payment? that would be stupid business practice. So instead of you people just giving money away look into what your signing up for that's why they tell you to READ THE AGREEMENT. Nor does it advertise a mastercard or visa LOGO!

i was a member of urs for about 3 month and u all took 24.95 out of my account twice in one month i di not get reimbursed for it even though u said i would and then i closed out my account and was suppose to get 24.95 reimbrsed and did not recieve that either so u all now owe me 49.90 in money back i would like a response back to this or i will go to bbb and let them know my ssn is [protected]

I have same problem Was thinking I'm getting a acredit card they charge to my account 79.95 and plus they take another payment I never use the card is only junk what they have..how a cancel the card I work to hard to somebody take my money that easy help please

The saddest thing to see, out of all of this, is people who have bad credit, and even one credit I read "am in financial mess and need the card to get straightened up a big." OH MY GOD PEOPLE WAKE THE HECK UP! Earth to America! WOO HOO! Getting a credit card WILL NOT FIX YOUR FINANCES! Let me repeat that, getting a credit card WILL NOT FIX YOUR FINANCES! It will only add to the burden, and what the young lady wrote back, is true, why in the heck would they want to send nice stuff to people with already bad credit?! HMMMM how many credit card companies have you all already scammed money from? OH HELL NO SHE DIDN"T! Yes I did, because I've been there, and I know how you all are thinking. Look, snap to reality it is like this, your finances suck because of decisions YOU made, not amber, not the attorney general, not anyone, JUST YOU! and now it time to suck it up, eat beans or peanut butter sandwiches every single meal, every single day until you get your credit repaired, like I did, except I didnt' eat nothing but apples and rice cakes, and hey! I looked good too at the end! But seriously, you got yourselves into this mess, now get yourselves out. Please, learn to take repsonsibilty, and quit blaming everyone else for your woes! I got the application for this card in the mail, and I knew right away it wasn't a major credit card, but it is still a credit card. Any card that you can buy items with, and helps to rebuild your credit by reporting to even ONE credit bereau, is a credit card, you just can' t use it anywhere but the one store. With all that said, I do believe this company is shady. They won't let you cancel, even though they tell you in the terms and agreements that you have 3 days to do so. The thing that gets me the most, is that you can't use their card to pay for shipping and handling, you have to use a different card. I have bad credit, and I am trying to rebuild it, but I have found other ways, other cards that seem a much better fit for me.

I haven't even been accepted as a member of this company yet and the done took 80.00 off my check card and wont reimburst me my money just charged me another payment of 39.95 on march23 2013 i'm not a member also charged me a payment of 39.95 on feburary1 2013...was suppose to reimburst me that payment kept telling me it was pending.. never did now done took this payment without my permission itz just like they stealing my money...y.

It happened to me and I had to cancel the bank which associated with this transaction. They billed me $4.95 for membership fê but only get the money whenever my bank had the fund available. What kind of company like that?, if they're real they would cancel my membership for membership non-payment. This is a scam, they will get our money no matter what

I applied thinking it was a credit card. That is how it read and was advertised. When I found out I had been lied to I demanded my money refunded. They refunded my money and I warned them if any more money was taken from my account. They would face a lawsuit. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB.

The same thing happened to me about a week and a half ago. when I received this card it said horizon. and I applied for a NET FIRST credit card. I called customer service and was told that i did not have to keep the card but it will still drop my credit score because I ordered the card and they ran my credit but if I kept the card (didn't have to purchase anything from their P>O>S website) that they will report it to the credit company every month and they would continue to charge me. Someone said in a comment that it was dollar store crap and I honestly have to agree with them. Not only are the items crap, they charge you double and the shipping cost... Please if you read this before purchasing the NET FIRST card, """DON'T BUY IT!"""

These people said that i could use this card any time and now i can't even get logged on to their website to do anything. When i first got the card i called them and told them to refund the money that they took out of my acct because i had changed my mind. Well they talked me into keeping it and refunding half well now when i get done, they will do more than refund the rest of what they owe me.

i filled out horizons app, i thought i was getting a regular credit card. this is a misleading offer and i am very upset because i just gave them the rest of the money i had for the month to live on. i see they did this to a lot of people its like highway robbery, I would like to know if something can be done with this frequent problem. tyvm

Well Here goes ...Horizon Gold CRedit Card Thats Right thats the First trick...You think credit Visa/ Master Card NOOOOOO ITS NOT...2nd they want you in your dessperation to forget about the terms agreement involed so its not really avaialbe to read to much later on down the road...3rd trick you can not view there wonderful shopping site until you are approved MEMBERS ONLY FIRST THEN you can see the crappy stuff for sale that you would not even give to your worst enemy. Also your credit does not get reported for 60 - 90 days so expect to be pateint. 4th trick In the mean time watch your credit with them closely. Horizon Gold right from the start Got my address wrong then...maybe so they can delay the cancellation process by the time you firgure out whats going on. then its to late they got your money BYE BYE. it you fight them you will still be paying 20.00 for a piece of s plastic. 5th trick when you stay on with them they said my other credit card company wont pay them there monthy fee of $ 6.00 maintenance fee i have plenty of avaiable funds for them...in the mean time they suspened my account twice with no notifcation...i asked if i didnt check all there mistakes would could you suspending my account effect my credit ...they said yes ...Just think this company pushes how they can help rebuild your credit yeah right beware of this company ... thats another thing they send no statement to you at all...I asked if i cancell would it affect my credit they said it wont be a postive ...when i spoke with supervisiors they had an answer for everthing ...they say now i have to call them to make sure the payment goes through... what an inconvience i dont trust this company at all but it seems i AM STUCK WITH THEM FOR NOW...jUST BEWARE AN WAtch them like a hawk...also there customer service in no good not professional at all...I KEEP PRESSING THEM FOR SOME DECENT ANSWERS THEY SAID SORRY I HAVING a long day iam tried ...I WONDER WHY!1

Dear Consumers

The Horizon Gold Card is nothing more than a Internet Rip-off Scam. They milked my account for 149.00 and told me that my account with them was being cancelled and was being sent to their dispute-resolution section. (nothing about a refund was mentioned) I went to my bank, closed my old account and opened a new one. I know that if they don't give the bank back their money, they will be prosecuted. This is what I suggest everyone should do who has been ripped off by this rogue company. You should also lodge a complaint with the BBB.

My wife receive this horizon gold card in the mail last night. Since im a goggle freak i googled horizon gold fraud just to c who these people really are and if there has been any complaint against them needless to say i came upon this website. There's too much complaint against them so i ripped it up for her. I did a little research on them and this is for the people who have ben scam, here goes. Horizon gold address is 1707 Warren Road Indiana, PA 15701 US. Guess who also resides at this address too, Reliant Holdings Guess who owns horizon gold www.reliantholdings.com and there phone #[protected] this website was created on 12-Apr-2005 the email associated with the website is rekane@reliantholdings.com www.thehorizonoutlet.com Record created on 03-Feb-2006. they havent been in the bussiness long enough in my opinion

I applied for the Horizon Gold credit card because they advertised building up you credit if you had a bad credit rating. I lost my business in 2009 and had to file bankruptcy. The card is a scam because they do not report to the credit bureau. You have to buy their "junk" then pay their enormous percent plus pay a $8.40 for shipping and $8.80 handling on a $7.00 item that I was going to try to see what they did, on something that would fit in an envelope. They charged me $24.95 each month that is bank drafted that I did not authorize. This has been going on since May, 2011 and I now have to close my account just to get out from under it and I hope they try to come after me. THIS IS JUST NOT RIGHT. Everyone should have to obey the same laws. If I did this, I would still have 41/2 years to serve behind bars.
They will not answer the phone, email or snail mail. There is no way to get in touch with them to talk this through. Someone has got to do something to stop this kind of business practice.

I applied on line for a Horizon Gold Credit Card on 9/7/07. In checking my bank balance on 9/11/07 after making a deposit, I found that I had been charged $149.00 by Consumer Trust whom I have never heard of. I got a phone number from the bank, I then called this Consumer Trust Finance . I informed the lady that answered of my complaint, she informed me that this was for a $2500. catalog shopping spree on line. I informed her that I was going to dispute this, as I never ordered this. She then stated that my account had been canceled. I then asked her about my money that had been taken out of my account, I received no specific answer as to whether my money would be returned.
