Social influence can significantly shape our decisions due to a natural bias in our brains. For example, a study showed that cookies from a nearly empty jar were rated higher in quality and price because they were perceived to be in high demand. Amazon uses this bias by displaying customer ratings, reviews, and bestseller status to persuade buyers. This invisible social influence creates a sense of safety and validation in following the crowd's decisions.
