iContact Refusal to cancel the annual subscription when service has been withdrawn

@iContact

We paid an annual subscription in Feb 2022 for 5,000 users We delete and clean the lists after each mailout because we have several brands. Yes we have overlap on our lists but we don't deliberately go over the subscriber limit. Last month we went over (team member error) and icontact blocked our sending capability.

Each message is answered by Patrice who is eager to assist but will not resume our service unless we pay to upgrade to the next (very expensive 10,000 subscriber tier). We're a non-profit and have been with icontact for 12 years!

After being without service for two weeks we went to a new provider. Patrice says the annual subscription is non-refundable and we will get our cancellation on April 30th 2023. That's c$300 for 5 months of no service.

In the past it was easy to switch from monthly to annual subscription but Patrice says we need to pay for our 'overage' during November - i.e. to be punished.

I've asked to be escalated to the complaints department and got another answer from Patrice. Does he own the company?

Desired outcome: Cancel the account and refund the balance.

iContact No tech support until next week.

No customer support when their system is failing is ridiculous when I pay more than $200 per month.

The good news is: Emails are not going to spam.

The bad news is: Emails are NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

Zero delivery to all of my test email accounts. Now I have NO marketing on this once-a-year boat show weekend, the biggest weekend of our year--and all because iContact is not delivering emails and they have no tech support available for PAYING CUSTOMERS. I'm cancelling.

iContact Email services

Worked with Icontact in the past for email marketing services. We notified them of cancelation and got our final billing in September of 2018. We then get 4 random charges of $5, 000 each on March 4th. They refuse to reverse the charges saying that we are still using the software despite not logging in at all in 2019.

They are claiming they have established a relationship with a former employee who hasn't even worked for the company in 2019 and he didn't pay some money he supposedly owes them so they illegally billed our card. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and FTC.

Thought I would post an update here. I hired counsel and now their counsel Robert Taylor robert.taylor @j2.com has responded in a threatening manner saying I owe them money. Outrageous obviously but here is where it gets interesting.

He sent a screenshot of a random facebook profile who has in his work history having worked for the FTC. This individual had also posted something negative about Icontact. So this unethical attorney made the leap that this was my account and I will paste his exact language here:
Your client is also falsely pretending to be a federal agent acting under the authority of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in order to disparage iContact (see attached), a federal crime punishable by up to three years in prison.

I am not sure yet if this is outside the boundary of ethical behavior of an attorney. I called the California State Bar. I am told to fill out this form http://www.calbar.ca.gov/Portals/0/documents/forms/Attorney_Misconduct_Complaint.pdf
Will update soon.

iContact Fraudulent charges

When iContact was unable to accurately track our account activity within SFDC as well as Campaign Monitor was able to, I called to cancel my organization's account after about 7 months of inactivity in June 2014.

iContact failed to actually cancel the account and continued billing for 6 more months before our finance department noticed and I ended up calling again. They claim that a "two free months" offer was accepted but it was not. iContact refused to refund any of the charges even though there had been no account login/activity whatsoever in over 13 months (last activity using iContact services was 11/22/2013).

Filed a BBB complaint and they still stubbornly stand by their stance that the customer knew the terms. iContact would not in good faith issue a refund for the illegally charged invoices during a period of time where there is proof that no account activity occurred, and after the fact that I had initially called to cancel the account.

In the event that any other current iContact customers attempt to cancel their account, they will notice that a call must be made with hoops to jump through instead of offering the ability to do this via the web.

iContact operates on a very sketchy business model as we have found out the hard way, and I hope this review rings loud and clear for anyone else considering iContact in the future. STAY AWAY!

iContact Spam and Fraud Company

I signed up for email marketing, and I tried to send one promotional email to my subscribers, but they canceled my emails. Then I called them and requested for money back. They didn't refund. So I couldn't send one email, but they charge me. Please don't trust this company. There are so many companies that can do same job with very low cost. Icontact is trying to get money without doing nothing. Absolutely scam and fraud.

Mine is even better... I bought a One Year only and I just caught they have been billing me for 3 years on my card. They confirmed that I have not used the service since 2014... no use at all! they have billed me 428.40 over 3 years and wanted to refund me the last charge I just caught and blocked on my card of 142.80... not the rest. Shady and poor business practices. I would not recommend this company to anyone now!

My Complaint is far worse than this...After I sent my first Email campaign that the account was suspended by I-Contact and I could not send any further emails out. They did not help me at all with this and continued to bill me $50 a month for nearly 2 years.
When I complained and requested a full refund as I was not able to use the service they refused to give a refund but did say they would as a gesture of good will give me 3 months back. The fact that the account is suspended but they still bill for a service I cannot used in my opinion is theft.
Be careful of this please...

iContact system not working and no tech help

Can't recommend this company at all... system is not working and there is no tech support available on weekends. We are a small company and trying to get an email blast out...can't insert an image, can't change the font color. They must have changed their system yet again ...Have made it so complicated it is not for small businesses any longer. They added tons of bells and whistles plus more useless templates so you have a lot to choose from if you want to send a quick message out with a photo you are out of luck! Added all this stuff, but reduced tech support... If you want to send an email to tech support you must scroll ALL the way over to the right of the screen to find the section to send an email They don't make it easy... You must have tons of free time to read ALL their tutorials and videos to use their complicated service.

iContact Unauthorized charges

The company has charged my credit card in 3 occasions, December 2010, January and February 2011. I decided to call them up and they refused to provide a reason or refund, as they do not process any refunds. They did agree to stop charging my card on March.
I have NOT used their services and refuse to pay any money to these thieves. I read complaints online and it seem that these practice is more common than I initially thought.

iContact Charged $47.00 thru cpipay.com

Just got a charge on my account for cpipay.com, after trying to call the 1-866 number all day (no one ever answers), finally got through. They said the charge was for Emillionaire.com. I never authorized this charge. I went to the emillionaire.com website and called their customer service number. They said they are not affiliated in any way with CPI. So who is lying? I had to cancel my card number with my bank and am disputing the charge. Very shady business...I would steer way clear of these companies!

iContact Online fraud

I had seen their commercial online and usually I never fall for these but this one I did. On Mar/3rd/09 I purchased their program online and they had a special for $1.95. After 10 different other offers, that basically wanted me to spend more money, I only went for $1.95 offer to see what they were offering and I was told on their website that my program was in the mail. A few minutes later I get a call from a sales guy who really tries really hard to sell me something else for $47.

I sternly and repeatedly told him that till I read the initial package I was not interested. After I yelled at him the guy backed off. A week went by and I called Emillionaire.com to inquire about my package and communicated to one of their reps that I had not received it. She said that it sometimes takes two weeks. Today is 4/13/09. I still have not received my packet in the mail.

Today I also got my CC statement, the one I had used to make the initial purchase of $1.95, and it has been charged $47. I called them and I told them that I never received anything in the mail and that they had charged me $47 without my permission. The Supervisor 'Page Morgan', told me that they would be willing to refund $47 but not the $1.95 even though they did send me anything. She would give me her Biz license #.

This is a fly by night operation. Targeted to rip you off. BTW, there call center is Philippines, Ms. Morgan is just some randomly made up name. I hope people will read this and shut this scam down. I would rather give a $1.95 to beggar but these folks are parasites.

iContact SCAM! But I got refunded!

There seems to be light at the end of the long and dark tunnel.

After a month of continuous headaches and running in circles, 800 numbers going out of service mysteriously, recieving emails from their support that apparently doesn't exist if you reply, recieving a phone call from someone connected to eMillionaire and then being hung up on when he didn't like what I had to say and many numerous other instances, I've finally recieved the confirmation I required! Here's the email:

Dear valued customer,

You account has just been refunded, just wait for the amount to be posted to your account in 24hrs time.

Thank you for your patience.

Customer care specialist

Now whether they are ACTUALLY going to refund the money is beyond me but this is what I required to give to my bank in order for them to reverse the charges in case the company didn't. I feel like a huge boulder has been lifted from my shoulders.

I know many of you have experienced what I have in this past month and I hope this information helps you. I posted the number of the mysterious person who called me who said they were from eMillionaire and who hung up on me but I will post it again. Feel free to contact them. I don't think they will answer but it's worth a shot. I called as soon as he hung up on me and it just kept ringing and when I hung up to call again, it was busy for hours. The number is [protected] and it's based in Clearwater, Florida.

I hope some of you others who were scammed into this will find this useful and will be able to get a refund as well. All I did was continued to call them and let them know I would contact the FBI Internet Crime Department, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau if I didn't recieve a refund IMMEDIATELY

Let this be a lesson to all of us.

Call your credit card and explain to them what they're doing to you and the run around they are giving you. They can dispute the charges to your CC and your CC company will contact the bank that emillionaire uses and get your money back that way. Call emillionaire and tell them you will take legal action if this continues.

They did the same to me. I got my refund and then the next month, after telling me they had cancelled the account and I would not be charged again, they charged me again. I called freaking on them and demanded a refund and said I would take legal action against them if they did it again as they already said it wouldn't happen. So far, so good.

Also, don't believe when they say they will put it through to their accountant or that you will get a refund. Demand an email from them saying that. When they just tell you that over the phone, as soon as you get off, they don't do anything about it. Keep on it and demand what is rightfully yours.

Update by Lisa G.
Apr 16, 2009 11:04 am EDT

I would call them and demand a refund as you were not informed of any further fees. Keep on them and don't give up. If you are annoying enough, they will give in. When I spoke to them, I told them that I was not going to get off the phone until they sent me an email telling me I was getting a refund. Once they say you will, Visa can dispute the charges and what that means is they will contact the bank that the business deals with and resolve it that way. I told them I knew it was a scam and I threatened them with the Trade Commission, the FBI Internet Crime and the Better Business Bureau.

It took a month for me to be refunded but I called them constantly and refused to take no for an answer. Don't give up!

$47.00 USD which came to $62.08 I believe Canadian. They've sent me the email stating that I would be refunded in 24 hours but of course that hasn't happened yet. There's been no change to my credit card but my bank is disputing it and will be dealing with the bank that eMillionaire deals with to get my money back. My bank said I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to hear back from them whether or not they were successful. Nobody cares about the interest that we're paying on these balances owing.

What I'm going to do is write to Brock Felt (if he even exists) and send him a bill of my own for my cell phone minutes used in contacting them and being put on hold for long periods of time and also the interest accumulated on my credit card. I don't expect anything from it but I'd like to let him know that we aren't just going to sit back and take this crap. I think I'll give his address to some people and see how funny he thinks it is when he gets a bunch of hate mail.

I noticed a $47.00 charge on my debit card- that i'm sure I didn't willfully incur. The name of the company listed was CPIP, with an 866 #, I called the number, and after a long wait someone answered, I inquired about the charge and was told they are a third party billing company for many companies, he determined the charge was for e-millionaire.com and promised a refund after I said it is an unauthorized charge. I question who is the scammer here... He gave me an out of service number for e-millionaire.com. If the charge is not reversed in 3 days, I will dispute it with my bank. I cannot believe our government cannot bring charges against these companies! It's ridiculous what these people get away with. Think of how many people don't bother to scrutinize their bank statements, letting these companies get away with scamming us out of millions of dollars when it's all said and done. Pathetic. If I had the money, I would spend thousands to bring them to court and hold them accountable- even though it's only a 47.00 charge.

Hi, I recently saw an add when i was on facebook that said i could earn up to $563 per day. Once i followed the links, they asked me to enter my credit card details and normally i DO NOT EVER do this, but i thought, it looked like a genuine site and that it was secure! Well, after going through all the rigmarole, and thinking i was only going to pay $1.95, i sat and read through all the transcripts etc only to get to the other end and their email doesn't exist, i couldn't log in etc!

So i tried typing their website into google and to my despair i found that they are on this website! I'm soooooooooooo scared now that they are going to take all the money off my credit card and i just can't afford that!

So, please buyer beware, DO NOT give them any details! I should've listened to my gut in the first place!

All I did was look at a web site for healtha nd beauty I did not purchase anything and did not even give my credit number and the nest thing that I know is that they have taken 47.00 out of my account. I know that this scam has to be against the law. If they do not give me my money back immediatly I intend to contact newspapers and talk shows across the nation like Oprah. People need to be made aware of these scams. I guess we know how Brock Felt made his millions. Maybe he does not believe that there is a heaven and a hell but there most surely is and it seems like he is hell bound. Mr. Felt you can not take it with you and I may not have alot of money but I would not change places with you for anything in this world. The good news is for me is that I used a prepaid debit card and he can not steal money from me over and over. Mr. Felt I will pray for you that God will save your soul, and that you will undo the wrong that you have done to so many people.

I have been trying to get a refund of over £200 (GBP) since end of march. I keep emailing them and they say they are investigating it. Now we are into May and I've just noticed that they have billed me again, twice, for Management fees. I can't seem to stop them billing me. Only thing I can think of is cancel my credit card. I am lost as to what else I can do to stop them.

I too have been scammed. Two payments of US$47.00
were taken out of my account before I discovered it. ( AU $70.00 each )
My bank cannot put a stop to it.
I have emailed emillionaire several times, and have been told that they will refund both amounts of $47. but have not received it. I then gave them 24hrs to refund or I would take the matter further. That did not help any.
I have now used the information you posted and sent in a complaint to the 3 bureaus. Hopefully something will come of it.

iContact No such money making/fraudulent charges to Credit Card

I signed up for this money making opportunity expecting to receive an e-mail with information on what my next step was. I saved the sign on information to my favorites, but when I go to favorites it just gives me the support address now. No such web site located after several attempts. I called the number that showed up on my bank statement within 48 hours to cancel membership after I found all of the complaints. I spoke to a real person who assured me my account was canceled and when I tried to verify that no other charges would be submitted, conveniently the line started cutting out and then went dead. Now 9 days later I have a $47.00 charge to my card and the number provided with the charge says it is temporarily out of service and to try back in a couple of hours. I have never in my life heard an out of service recording that said to try back in a couple of hours. I just want my money back and no more charges to come through. I am canceling my credit card and placing a dispute with my bank to get the money back and have no more charges come through. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SCAM!

I signed up back in February for the 1.95, and my account was hit for 39.95. I am now in a dispute with VISA to get my money back. The number I called was no good. I emailed the company and got no response. No wonder the guy makes SO MUCH money, he preys on those of us that are barely getting by and want a better life. I wont be letting this go, as I am going to fight this as far and as long as I have to, to get my funds back.

We too were scammed and should have known better! We are out $197.00 and have been told numerous times by numerous people that our FULL refund is being done. Can't get return phone calls, can't talk to anyone of authority---we have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and are going to the Consumer Fraud Department also (both in Tampa, FL). We ARE NOT just going away!

Basically same story. Ooops! My bad. Should have known better. The $1.95 to learn more was just too, too tempting. But I used an account I'm planning to close with very little money in it. A few days later I got a phone call, "verifying" that I had signed up and offering to sell me something, exactly what I don't remember. I politely declined and asked for a phone number contact.
Today I got a notice from my bank that they had made a courtesy payment of the overdrawn amount. So, as of this moment, I'm out the $30 I had in the account originally, the $17 balance of the unauthorized $47 charge, and a $5.00 bank fee for the overdraft.
But here's the sleaziest part: I kept the phone number she gave me. Just called it and it got me Dish Network. Now! That's creative!

iContact Goog income

After £1.45p taken from my credit card on 12th Feb 2009, £28.46p was taken out on 21st Feb 2009, 9 days later. Now on 5th March (over 3 weekes) I get this link to confirm subscription. What a cheeky trick or they are so naive to the fact that someone is making good takings from the name 'emiilionaire'.

First charge was taken by product support, then the next one by 'Goog income'.
All I want is all my money back with ever they are acting for or with.

Below is the first email I'm getting since I signed in to Kevin got his green. I did not sign up with emillionaire at any time. Emiilionaire posp up when u sign into Kevins story. This is a fad then.

**READ MY LIPS. I NEVER SIGNED UP WITH YOU; EMIILIONAIRE. GET IT?*

I shall now try to get them on phone to get me off their list. If I can find their nos. I will get it. Its been left on this complaint trail several times. Or else I can google them. Atleast there is an address to write to now. I really didnt need this crap. Defending something I never signed to in the first instance.

I to believe I am being scammed. Deductions have been appearing in my bank statements over the past few months that I have only been recently aware of. The amount is 47 dollars each month. How do I stop this from happening.? Is my bank able to assist me with this matter.? This is very disturbing. I would appreciate some advice if there is anyone interested to help.

Thankyou. Margaret. Australia.

They charge your card with different accounts like Googincome, emillionaireMBA, CpiPay/n-remedies, cpipay.com / Marqilife / Marqi life and more but it's all the same scammers emptying your bank account. See:

Hi everyone,

My name is MightyMichael Reid yes this is my real name and I too have been scammed by these people. I was looking on careerbuilder.com for a job and found a managment position and applied for it I read that they would only charge my debit card $1.95 USA. I was then lead to believe that I had 14 days to cancel if I wanted to. I tried for two weeks to cancel but only got a busy signal. I then found that after trying to get ahold of them my bank account went into the negative because they had charged my account another $47.00 and did not authorise this.

When I contacted my bank they said that I had to file a police report before they could do anything about it. I then cancelled my debit card for my account becuase I didn't want them to take anymore money from me. I found the number of [protected] on my bank statement to call the company up that was listed as taking the money out of my account. They told me that the company was called EMillionaier and gave me the number of [protected].

So I called them up and spoke to someone they told me that they would give me the money of $47.00 back but would not give me the $31.00 that I was charged for being over drawn on my account they said that wasn't their fault. It is their fault because I would not have been over drawn if it wasn't for them taking my money when I didn't tell them they could. They asked for my card number and said they would have it back in my account in 7-14 business days. I told them to go you know where because I had cancelled that card and they were not getting my new one.

I would sure like everyone to tell their friends and family about all the messages that have been left on here about this company and others that are scamming people. As if the economy isn't bad enough we have dumb people out here taking our own hard earned money.

Rolando FRancisco

Similar to a lot of people I was tricked into thinking that this is real. I called to cancel but was told that they cannot pull out my account and that they sent a cancellation request to their verification department. To find out whether my account was cancelled, I need to go to productcustomersupport.com. The website has nothing and now I am afraid for additional charges that will be deducted from my credit card. PLEASE, IS THERE ANYBODY WHO CAN HELP CANCEL THIS SCAM ON MY ACCOUNT!
