Seems like I am not the only one, but over the past 10 years, Timeshares were sold to thousands of people in Ogunquit, ME. (me being one). To make the sale they offered (Two for one) meaning you pay full price for a timeshare, and they give you as an incentive another week free to complete the sale. This was honored for the first 2 years. Then they "changed managment companies" and this was no longer allowed.
Currently they are advocating the new "Points System" instead of the weekly system. This is also additional cost to get in (which they obviously want you to buy into some other scam which they would never guarantee anything outside of "trust me").
I would love to get a list of everyone involved so that we can approach a legal team and do a class action lawsuit against the mgmt company. They have serious attitudes to think that they can just back off of a signed contract without providing something for their customers.
I have contracts to prove my side of it and would love to hear from others who have the same issue. I recall speaking to about 10 other members at the pool one year venting about the same thing.
I also heard that Interval International dumped them as a company and now they are advocating to work with RCI wich is more properties but inferior with regards to quality.
I think this should also be brought up to the Ogunquit (and/or) West Yarmouth Better Business Bureau just to start with.
Upset with poor service from what I hoped to be a "reputable company" ...

Signed,
Concerned Owner at the Falls of Ogunquit with Inn Season Resorts.

Bloodsuckers. And you can't get a vacation IN season. How ironic. I'm planning on lodging a complaint with the Attny. General or whomever. My elderly mother was suckerd into buying these "points", which are useless. The yearly "maintenance" fee is for WHAT? They couldn't explain that. Nothing is actually owned by the timeshare holder. Tell it like it is on Facebook or Twitter. That is where I told them the conversation was going to START when their extremely rude customer rep. told me "this conversation is over!". We are now stuck with a useless POS which we are paying $10, 000 plus $600 yearly maintenance fees for. I can not believe this company has not been sued.

Three years, more than $8000 up front, three "maintenance" fees later, and we still have had no vacation with these scammers at InnSeason Resorts. To add insult to injury, today we wasted yet another hour attending a meeting with a "customer service" person who said the only way we could get a vacation was to pay an additional $6500. We're ready to get our attorney after these dishonest people, and I'm curious if anyone knows what happened with the Attorney General investigation and/or the Better Business Bureau reports mentioned in 2010? From Also Fed Up.

I wanted to take a moment and respond to “Also Fed Up”. This complaint was actually brought to our attention a few weeks ago. Our Customer Relations Manager has been in communication with “Also Fed Up” since that time. We are sorry that they were disappointed with their purchase but pleased to note that we are working on resolving their questions and getting them on vacation. Our CRM, dzukowski@innseason.com noted that he would be pleased to respond to any other questions about InnSeason Resorts ownership.

I am ready to contact BBB and Attorney General with a complaint myself. I purchased into the point system at Inn Seasons in 2007 with 90, 000 every other year. I requested enough points for a 1 bedroom peak season. Since then, i have tried to get August in Ogonquit only to be told that is 110, 000. In addition, I have tried to swap into II with no success, as many of those resorts peak season are over 100, 000 points as well. I have never used my 90, 000 points. I have attended two owners meetings where they have tried to get me to buy into the RCI points system for an addtional 1, 900. I refused to give them any more money and looking into how to sell or drop my membership, since I never use it and pay annual maintenance fees of over 500.

The worst decision I have ever made! We have 90, 000 points, purchased in 2006 and have not once been able to get a decent stay during the summer. Then, I get calls inviting me to their "classes" to teach me how to use the points better (as if I'm an idiot) and get the hard sell again on buying more points for thousands of dollars. That how I got in this mess to begin with! I really despise these people. It's a scam. They sell way more timeshares then they have the inventory for.

I have had an equally hard time booking vacations with Innseason. We bought at Pollard Brook in New Hampshire because we love the area but ever since then he haven't been able to book a vacation there once. Also there was a lot of talk about bonus time, that we could get a discounted rate if we booked within 14 days of travel, that has never worked.

Fortunately we've been able to exchange with Interval. We've done 3 exchanges with them and all of the places have been wonderful! We done a bunch of timeshare presentations since we bought and we really wish we had bought through some where else! Innseason doesn't see to care that we're dissatisfied.

I have never tried to use the vacation club. Shortly after we purchased it, my husband became very ill and couldn't go very far from his dialysis clinic. Since then he has passed away. I have asked several times if they would buy back their points or if they could recommend a broker but all they can suggest is to donate the points. The group they suggest donating to is also a scam. I'm having a difficult time keeping up with the maintenance fees and have been in collections with two different agencies now, both very rude, obnoxious and pushy bordering on harassing. Now they've changed collection agencies again and I have no idea who I'm to continue paying the monthly fee. There are reports that when the accrued maintenance fees get too high, they just foreclose and take the membership back, claiming it's to the members' benefit rather than losing the maintenance fees. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to let them, just to get this off my back. I really feel this was a scam from the start and I'm very, very sorry I ever agreed to participate.

Every time I go to use this great plan I supposedly bought, I can't! They never have anything available, or even the great 4 airline tickets which you got to show up at the resort and listen for hours, are essentially worthless because the fees you have to pay for the places you want to fly to are exorbitant and I can go cheaper on my own, buying my own tickets. If you choose to get the hotel instead and drive the discount is $50.00 off of an extravagant hotel rate that again I can get cheaper elsewhere for time periods I actually want to spend there.
I am stuck paying for something that is truly worthless. A very expensive mistake! Also went to their great info session on how to use their plan and found myself being sucked into more, but this time I walked away! Shame on these people! This money could go on my sons college education!

We are one of the victims here, we never able to make the booking the date and time we want. All we do is just paying the maintenance fee to benefit the non-members. The thousand dollar fee we paid is more than the hotel fee we pay for a week. That's ridiculous. They said they will expand their locations years ago but it never happened, it is totally a scam. we stopped paying the fee a year ago and now we are in collections. How we can stop this nightmare?

Let's get together and file a class action suit for violation of the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act! How do we find each other? I'm sad to think there are so many of us who were scammed.

I'm ready. I consulted a lawyer, who gave me the name and number of a Boston law firm 'fighting a class action suit" against InnSeasons. Three days after I called them, I was called by InnSeasons and found out that law firm REPRESENTS InnSeasons! Am waiting for a return call from my lawyer. We need to use a Massachusetts firm, since InnS is based in MA, and MA has very good consumer protections. My email: gemini.nancy@cox.net.

I am a stage IV Vietnam veteran cancer Patient. I own a week with Inn Seasons. When purchased article 11 clearly stated that were no restrictions on sales, Now I am in estate planning. Paid $250 to my lawyer to transfer the deed from my deceased wife (died of cancer 2011) and myself to myself, my daughter, and my son (both of legal age) with rights of survivorship. Had no problem under NH law and the transfer was recorded without a hitch. Sent a copy of the new deed to the management company, heard nothing. This year paying the maintenance fee The correspondence was addressed to myself and my wife ( I find this offensive as she has been dead five years. I contacted them to correct their records and they refuse telling me that transfers must be approved by them and after paying $600 fee they would change the record. They say my son and my daughter will be refused access and refused recognition until they approve such transfer and the predatory fee be paid. For what correcting records? Refusing to recognize a proper exchange under NH law. I intend to do anything in my power to put them in their place. My unit is Pollard Brook in Lincoln NH. My only hope is I live long enough to do so.

Every year since VRI took over management they have pushed for us to go to the points club where you get nothing but a promise for your hard earned money. Now when they get someone to faithfully pay the dues they won't let go and try to force them into the club upon transfer. My unit in the main building had several deeded owners because it is the oldest. It was the last to receive renovations. Newer units got them first because they are used for the club members. The older units are mostly elderly like myself who shy away from legal action. I believe this to be racketeering telling one whom they must use to transfer the property, giving them their cut from that or forcing you into a situation where you stop paying your dues do to refused access thus they can foreclose and make all point where they have full control. I agree with others here that a class action suit is necessary and I never thought I would say such a thing. Their charge for transfer is $600 ... my lawyer charged the going fee $250. Why is the builder still on the board?

YES! We definitely could file a class action lawsuit against them as they 100% violated the Maine Unfair Trade Practice Act. I'm looking into it on my own, but it would be awesome to get a bunch of us to take them down!

It's one of the biggest, most costly mistakes I have ever made. I only used the limited "points" about 5 times over the last 12 years after paying over $12, 000 for "membership". I'm stuck with over $500 per year in maintenance fees. I spoke to an attorney and he said it's virtually impossible to get out of it. I stopped paying maintenance fees; it negatively impacted my credit score as it was turned over to debt collections. I'm not going to pay another dime so they can take me to court. I will be looking to get involved in a class action lawsuit to fight this unethical scam in hopes of preventing it from harming others.

I really wish I had seen all this BEFORE buying into this fraudulent company.
Their salesman directly lied to me and I didn't find out they were lies until much later and everytime I have an interaction I find out there was another lie.
Sickening.
Misleading their buyers seems to be the only way people buy into this.
Shameful.
Purchased in early 2018, have yet to use a single point or day.

I will repeat: we need a Massachusetts attorney, since that State has good consumer protections. And the club is based on the Cape, in Massachusetts. But how do we get this started. My attorney is in Bristol RI, so he is of no use. Do any of you live in Massachusetts?

I live in Massachusetts. I complained to the Massachusetts AG and they put me in touch with my local DA’s office who told me to contact the Massachusetts Bar Association. It is a vicious cycle.

My beef is we already had a timeshare and was followed and flagged down as we pulled out of that timeshare by a guy in a Jeep. He was pushing us to checkout the Edgewater Beach Resort. I had a bad vibe from the get go but my husband said we should just check it out. We reiterated that we are not in the market for another timeshare; as we could not afford to own a second timeshare. They offered to exchange our current timeshare for this one. They added that our current timeshare was removing all the in-room hot tubs as an additional lure. We ended up declining and left. This encounter wasn’t sitting well with me, things just didn’t feel right. We talked more in the car as we drove away. My husband convinced me to go along with the trade-in of our current timeshare. We returned a short time later and signed the agreement. It was the biggest mistake we have ever made. Edgewater never took ownership of the trade-in, as we had agreed on in the agreement we signed, and we were stuck with both. We were 7 years in before our deed was registered. We cannot find any lawyer who will take this on. Massachusetts is not consumer friendly as you suggested. They kick the can even given all the complaints surrounding timeshares.

The issues with Inn Season Resorts isn't isolated to Maine. I had a timeshare at Cape Cod Holiday Estates in Mashpee and after paying to transfer them the Deed to get this "wonderful ability to access RCI properties if interested in something outside the direct Inn Season Resorts", I've never been able to find an opening in their Genius.

If someone is working on any class action, please contact me on this site and I'll join.
