Intoxalock Intoxalock

I would rate zero stars if I could! I had an intoxalock installed for a year. The only positive is that they have service centers all over the place. Everything else about them is horrible! Customer service?... Good luck! For the sale, they will chase you down and be attentive to you until you sign up. Then its bye bye customer service. If you can get someone, their mostly overseas customer reps, thay have little knowledge of the issue. Hidden fees?... Absolutely! They charged me shipping costs for self removal of the device (i'm an electronic tech, but it's not rocket science), because I guess they couldn't profit off of the service center charge! And they had all types of small admin fees! Wtf! They lie about waiving calibration date violations due to acts of god like blizzards, so that they can get a lease extention on you. Very disingenuous and unscrupulous company. And the most important fact... You have to blow, suck, blow on their machine ridiculously hard to submit a breath sample! I mean ridiculously! I felt light headed the first few times I did it! Other companies you just have to blow. And they find a way to charge you for everything! They are grifters praying on our misery and misfortune. Do you know how many times I almost had an accident on a rolling retest having to blow, suck, blow while on a turn, on the highway, at high speeds, on a turn, bridge, tunnel, rain, snow, dark of night, etc? These rolling retests create an unsafe distracted driver situation in general, but this device? Monumentally hazardous! Avoid these people at all costs! Or it might just cost you more than some unforseen fees...

Desired outcome: I just want to warn potential customers about this company.

Intoxalock Intoxalock system on my car

I had it installed at maple Grove auto center on January 14 and the car has not been used. Now it will say I blew to soft, and will go to lock out. I need to use that car on February 28. I called maple Grove auto center montello, and they said they need to reclabrate the unit, but they would need a work order from you. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Intoxalock Breathalyzers

Today is February 16th 2022. I got the unit installed in my vehicle on Oct. 28th, 2021. This is the 3rd lockout that I have had. First lockout was 10/12/2021, second was 12/9/21 and now 2/16/22. I know how to use this unit and am doing it correctly, per my installer and others I have talked to. This costs me $75.00 each time to have it reset. Technical support is a pain in the butt. They want to argue with you that you did something wrong, but when you ask them what, they do not know. FRUSTRATING!

Desired outcome: Refund my Money and send me a new unit, at their cost.

Intoxalock Stranded on side of highway - no help - no alcohol detected - just took my$

I had my device installed the day before Thanksgiving. I drove my car to my family's house the next day, got locked out due to "not blowing hard enough". I took me a week to get it uninstalled. $1500 later including tow charges I got it removed and now they want another $20 ($15 of it in late fees) for "Roadside assistance" that I never received.

This is a total scam.

Desired outcome: Refund and reinstall a working device.

Intoxalock False positive on my device

My name is Jorge Rascon, My phone number is [protected]. I live at 620 Birch Ct. in Rifle Colorado, 81650. My email is [protected]@gmail.com

My customer ID is: 1135532

I did the initial start in my truck everything was normal. 15 minutes later, I had to do it again, and got a fail, I had to re-do the breath, and again it was normal. I did it two more times on the way to work, all was normal. After I worked my full day, I went to start my truck and it was locked out due to a "violation." I called the customer support number to ask what was the problem and explained the whole thing to them and they still said even though the error was the equipment, I was going to be charged $70-75 to unlock my truck to fix the problem.

I had no violations when I started my truck, and no violations even just after the one issue and then no other issues all morning and still somehow I am being blamed for this issue when it is clearly an issue with the equipment.

Desired outcome: I do not want this on my record and I do not want to be charged for this error on your equipment's part. I was clearly not drinking. I would like to be contacted about this and have this issue resolved asap.

Intoxalock the device kills your battery, locking you out

if you live in AZ email your complaint too: ignitioninterlock @ azdot . gov

I recently had an interlock installed in my vehicle using Intoxalock on Jan 19, 2022. in AZ

When I signed up with the company I did not receive documentation or a receipt or a lease agreement until I had my first issue on 2/2/2022.

The issue that I have been running into is the device is constantly drawing power on my vehicle's battery causing it to die. I have a working vehicle that is very reliable but it’s also an older vehicle, a 2009 Volkswagen van.

I can confirm that the battery I am using is a newer battery recently bought through Costco.

But the device that I am leasing through Intoxalock is drawing power constantly and within three days It drains my battery completely. The first time this happened, when I called to troubleshoot the issue I was instructed to disconnect the battery cable. By doing so the device starts a 48 hour lockout. This causes me to have to go to an authorized Intoxalock rep and pay a fee of $50 to unlock it. The need to go to an Intoxalock rep happens every time, even when following the given instructions to disconnect the battery cables. The first time this issue happened was on January 1. And I was stranded at a gas station because of it. I had to tow my vehicle home at my own expense. After the vehicle was towed to my home, I was able to get it started after working on it for hours. I took the vehicle into the authorized Intoxalock rep the next day. They actually told me that this is a very common issue with this device and that a lot of people who have it run into the same problem of it draining their battery. I then asked about what my options are to save the battery.

They told me to refer to a lease that I was apparently supposed to have been given when I got the device installed but never was. Once I told them that I was never given the lease they are referring to, they then emailed me a copy. This lease was only sent to me after my first visit to troubleshoot the battery issue on 2/2/2022.

This was the first time that I had ever seen any documentation from the company. This new document stated that I needed to start my vehicle every day for at least 15 minutes. This is not realistic for me as I work from home and don’t use my vehicle every day.

I asked if there was any sort of battery save mode on the device & they stated that there was, but that it only lasts for 16 hours.

I realistically cannot start my vehicle every day for 15 minutes.

This is also unrealistic if I were to travel somewhere for more than 3 days out without my vehicle. Which I often do. Or for somebody who works from home and doesn’t need their vehicle every day like myself.

Having this type of device that constantly draws power and never goes to sleep is very dangerous. I think it’s a dangerous business practice when the company profits from people getting a penalty from having a device that drains their battery. I have to pay an authorized Rep $50 plus the company is charging $75 every time the device causes my battery to die.

This is not counting the towing expenses people might run into if they’re stranded away from their home like I was when this first happened

Desired outcome: the device should sleep and not constantly drawing power to the vehicle's battery

Intoxalock Rolling testsing

I am writing about breathing issues. I have recently had one of these devices put in and am barely capable of blowing hard enough to get the thing to read that the sample has passed. I want to complain about having to do these tests every 5 to 10 minutes, I have COPD and retesting so often causes me to to feel so faint. I'm afraid I am going to cause an accident by passing out behind the wheel. You aren't allowed to use a cell phone and text and even eating is considered unttentive driving. This device is causing serious problems for me. How am I to drive on the interstate, where it is illegal to pull over? I have specialists I see 45 miles away. So frustrated, I'm afraid of this device.

Desired outcome: Set this thing so I am capable of breaking into it, set timing for retesting further apart.

I had this device installed in my car since December 2021... I had nothing but issues blowing into it. I have asthma and a heart murmur which makes it difficult to blow hard enough... it keeps saying try harder or invalid sampling ,plus while I am driving it keeps wanting a retest and sometimes you can't pull over to do it which gives you a lockout .I almost got into an accident a few times because I couldn't pull over..NOT SAFE...The one time my car was completely turned off and when I got back into my car it said lockout which is bull because my car wasn't even on...A few times I was stuck somewhere for over a half hour because the device kept saying try harder. They need to figure out another way to work this device so it doesn't cause so many issues. Plus it is always draining the battery and causes major issues with the electronics. I understand it is a punishment but damn don't be putting everyone at risk of causing an accident.GET NEW IMPROVED DEVICES

I should have taken jail time. They tried to scam me out of two $75 lockout fees while I had the device (car was being serviced both times, and Intoxalock had been properly notified). Now, over 3 weeks after the removal of the device and the closure of my account, Intoxalock is still charging me a "Roadside Assistance Fee". I find this criminal, given that...

Intoxalock False Lockout

I have been using my Intoxalock faithfully and correctly ever since I received it in June of 2021. I completed my six months and have been working through the removal process. I have now been told I need it 3 more months due to a lockout on December 10. On December 10th it was a normal calibration date. I talked to my calibration site about this. They agree. What can I do to dispute this false calibration?

Intoxalock Intoxalock

Intoxalock was installed 6 modnths ago. I never had a problem with my Subaru Forester until that was installed. For months I had a problem with it not starting, thick smoke coming out of my tail pipes, it almost stalled on the highway. The first mechanic could not find a problem because that day it ran fine. Then New Year's Eve it wouldn't start. My mechanic told me to bring it back to whoever installed my Intoxalock. They had my car for 2 days and finally reported it was a bad wire from Intoxalock. I was without a car for a week and the aggravation of it only starting sometimes was beyond annoying. Maybe they should look into updating. This was dangerous and avoidable. Can't wait to take this off of my vehicle

Desired outcome: Love to join a class action lawsuit

Intoxalock They have charged me for not returning their machine and ruining my credit

The place that installed my machine returned the machine to intaxaloc. I was first charged for the machine then they finally took that off they charged me service for the monthes o didn't have the machine. They have turned it into collections and had hurt my credit for a few years. It's cost me a lot. And I've desputed it on the credit bureaus and it's taken off only to reappear as soon as their collection agency files it again. I've even spoke to the company that installed it for me Wich was working for them and they have had problems with them too.

Desired outcome: 10,000

Intoxalock Went and completed but the device was installed again.

This if under jim's self management while father and son needed this off the propertys in wolxal or california highways. Not a freelance trooper hit and run. Or here scare yourself to death. Yes parents no of him like I did. And ring around prisons to get help. Is hard to undo. By all systems go. Look up daniel kephart and remove ford escape at harrisburg capitol building so all flight attendents dont have to fly factory outlets. It was looking like a clothes line.

Intoxalock Violation 11

I've had my intoxalock for a little over two weeks and I've already had three possible lockouts it charged me $75 customer service is horrible they choose to not educate you on what to do right but wait for you to make a violation and then add a new rule to it even though I read everything and then they tell me they see me doing a false start on the camera but can't tell me when I did it but say I need a lawyer to look at the video I just got one done today on New Year's Day they said I violated two days ago which was 2 days ago so I come here pay for the calibration and drive off go to the gas station pull my keys out and I violated again.

Desired outcome: Answers to my questions

Intoxalock Interlock ignition device

Your machine killed my car, I get it removed next week and it's Christmas Eve and my car won't start and the unit says PWRWeak, so I hook it up to my battery charger because it once against completely drained my battery, now it says lockout violation 5 which means the unit lost power for a period of time, yea?! No [censored] it's because it sucked every drop of juice from the battery and now my ecm battery and iid unit are all dead. So now that I have power to my battery to jump start it and the device gets power again I somehow owe 75 dollars and have to get my car to b calibrated on Christmas Day or it's gets locked out and can't start the car anymore to drive it to the shop to take the machine out in the first place. What kinda scam is this? I went to the calibrations each month I payed your lease fee twice a month, now it comes out next week and suddenly there's this lockout, what a "coincidence" I call the company and the guys says I gotta pay the 75 bucks and get it to the shop and pay the calibration Christmas Day, obviously it's closed idiot! This is my second battery, it fried my starter and literally started an engine fire replaced that too, then it started throwing codes and made my check engine abs and ebrake lights come, messed up my ecm so it improperly communicated with the transmission so now the transmission is Fed and doesn't have 3 or 4th gear. You already ruined my vehicle, I can't wait to get your device out of this car so I can send it off to the junkyard, ur device "ruined" this car, but to top it all off you gotta hit me with 125 dollars of charges with some bs lockout the week before it's removal and tell me you knowingly are taking advantage of me and there's nothing I can do about it, not to mention this devices purpose is to detect alcohol, I didn't blow any blood alcohol content, it was zero but your machine drained my battery so I owe u 75+45, crooked business u guys got there

Desired outcome: I want a manager from Intoxalock to personally contact me remove this ridiculous fee and if needed be of further assistance to set up its removal date as I have the dmv’s compliance release signifying I’ve completed my lease term

Intoxalock Absolutely everything start to finish

This place is a bunch of thieves. They couldnt do a single thing right. They installed the wrong device and let me drive with it for almost 2 months then told me oh its not your device. And the whole time charging me for any random thing they could think of and if i didnt pay it they would tell me the device will turn of my car until i pay. Any time i tried to reach them nobody answered or they would say hold and hang up. Finally i was fed up and told them remove it i dont care about my license i just want them gone they couldnt even do that i had to wait 2 days until someone would "approve" the removal. Do not use this company they dont know anything about IIDs they just rob people and frustrate them

Desired outcome: They get sued or shut down
