JELD-WEN I honestly wish I could give this company -0 zero stars

I honestly wish I could give this company -0 zero stars. I purchased my entry door with 2 sidelites on November 9th. $5000.00 I was told I would receive my door in December before Christmas of course I didn't receive my door. I had to constantly call customer service and I told my doors was being finished and I would receive a call to have them installed in a week. I didn't receive my doors until February. March the frame of the door and sidelites had bubbles and had chips. I call service order took pictures, and I was told it was the paint and it was not covered. I was told it was due to the elements (duh it's an exterior door) I was given $300.00 to purchase paint. However, I could find the exact FIR wood color. Now to date May 4th, 2022. My door and sidelites color have faded. I had my exterior door for almost 2 years looks like I had it for 20years or more. I will never purchase from this company again, and I would never recommend this company to anyone. I was super excited to finish of my new home with a new entry door, and I'm annoyed and disappointed every time I look at my door.

I have JELD WEN windows in my house. Every one of them has a broken seal. JELD WEN will not stand behind their product. They will not fix my windows. I am a general contractor of 45 years, I will not recommend nor would I ever use well *** products again! Total garbage!

I purchased Jeld Wen bifold closet doors at *** The holes for the pivot pins were not pre-drilled into doors for installation in three of the four doors I purchased. The hinges connecting the doors didn't have screws in all of the holes for some of the hinges and for one hinge there were no screws for either door. Tried to return the doors to *** but couldn't because I had already stained them. Silly me forgot to check for the pivot pin holes. Will not buy *** ever again, and probably not going to shop a *** either.

This company JELD-WEN OR MMI DOOR is one of the worse I have had to deal with in a very long time. I bought (2) of their doors last fall, after our business had a total loss fire. I bought these doors for the rebuild. They have been properly stored and wrapped for extra protection and now that we are ready to use them, one of the half windows with blinds is full of water. These are exterior doors, and should be able to handle the rain. Not only will this company or companies not stand by their faulty product but to replace just the window unit is more then just buying another door, different manufacturer. DO NOT USE EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES PRODUCTS, THEY DO NOT RESPECT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR FOR THAT MATTER THEIR PRODUCTS. IF I COULD LEAVE A MINUS STAR I WOULD.

JELD-WEN We purchased $10,000 worth of Jeld- Wen windows for a houseboat

We purchased $10,000 worth of Jeld- Wen windows for a houseboat. And every single one of them condensates. Jeld-Wen refuses to honor its warranty because they say condensation is a natural occurrence. Its a natural occurrence, all right when something is not properly sealed. Basically we purchased aluminum framed, double hung , cheaply made, expensive c*** to put it mildly. I really thought Jeld-Wen made a better product than that. When first installed we had to go around and silicone the bottom of the windows because they leaked when it rained. It condensates where the top and bottom frames come together, all along the bottom ***, various spots along the sides and tops of the windows. All of the framing is loose and comes apart at the corners. Sometimes you actually have to push in the corner of the frame to be able to open the window. Jeld-Wen has no accountability for the quality of their s*** products. I am a very displeased customer. I would not recommend *** windows to anyone. Very poor quality and no accountability from the company. Their warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on.

Junk steel 6 pannel door. Dimples on the steel pannels front and back, glue or foam hand prints on front and back of the door. I had to sand the glue or foam off the door and prime the door. The screws were screwed in to the hinges at angles so when you tighten the screws the hinges would move and the door would be out of line. The brick mold nails were showing through the frame and some completely missed the frame and brick mold ready to fall off. I went through 7 doors to get this halfway decent junk. I thought I would try other door brands to spread the sales around but I was wrong and going back to my other brand of doors!

The vinyl windows and patio doors are the worst product I have ever seen! Jeldwen has replaced the doors and glass panels four times in the past two years! All the panels have had debris in them ! And the windows all leak! I have asked for a refund and they keep giving me the runaround ! Their warranty means nothing!

Please help! I ordered a Jeld-Wen door through HD August and I'm still waiting for the door to be delivered. HD continues to give me estimated delivery dates which are then pushed back. by Jeld-Wen. This is unacceptable! I feel robbed, this unacceptable. Please investigate this as soon as possible. These scammers need to be stopped!

My door makes loud popping noises throughout the afternoon. I called Jeld Wen and they took no responsibility. They are aware of this problem and claim its not a defect so theres no fixing it. Buyer beware. I would not recommend their doors unless you live maybe in ***? The girl I spoke to sat quiet on the phone because theres nothing she can do. Awkward silence for us both and I ended the call.

JELD-WEN Our home was built in 2017 and we already have to replace all of the windows

Our home was built in 2017 and we already have to replace all of the windows. ALL OF THEM. Our windows are warped and bowing. We've had 6 panes replaced due to broken seals. They take on excessive water in the tracks. The outer frames on the south facing windows are puckering outwards. What is even more frustrating is after one Jeld Wen rep told me we had a lifetime warranty and would replace them. Only to later on receive a call from an apparent "manager" to take back that offer. Even more so, she continued to yell at me and belittle me because she argued our windows were installed incorrectly. Not once has Jeld Wen offered to send a rep out to inspect our windows. Naturally, the contractor who installed them denied any wrong-doing. You would think that Jeld Wen would at the very least have a rep come out and look at the windows. I could at least accept this if they actually would have done that. Rather, they just go based on a couple pictures and a few emails to deny warranty coverage. Obviously we are left without any sort of assistance and have no choice but to replace all of our windows. We will certainly not go with any Jeld Wen products!

I suppose i cant give zero stars. Contacted customer support 3 times now (once via phone call and 2 online). And NOT A SINGLE RESPONSE back. Windows have mold, weatherstripping is cracking and disappearing, doors are horrible and falling apart. Metal is rusting. The Attorney Generals need to look into this company who states lifetime warranty and wont stand behind their product even with plenty of opportunity to do so. I can only imagine how many thousands of consumers are wasting money with this company. Purchased through *** who said they were Top of the line! Liars on both counts.

I have used jeld wen interior doors for years, no complaints, but the last few I have purchased are total garbage, none of the routered hinges are correct, to deep, not deep enough, huge gaps around the hinges, missing screws, looks like my 14 year old son routered them out, spent more time fixing them, than if I built my own door frames and a blank door and router the hinges myself, total garbage, I will never buy jeldwen again, Ill buy blanks and build my own

Purchased 2 bi-fold patio doors in 11 , each time the doors came in they were defective, each time the company showed no urgency to resolve these issues, after 5.5 months I can now open these doors, the cladding is still not adhered to the core, the technician said you will need to paint and seal them, I would not have had to do this if they did not sand the exteriors to get the residue they came with off.Horrible company, terrible customer service, every one of their technicians have told me a different story, This is our third set of these doors, and they ALL leak, despite their website saying they need no painting and no maintenance.

How does this company stay in business? Ordered 4 windows and 3 sliding patio doors through *** Ordered 3/25/2022 order number H8526-290395.The four windows arrived on June 6,2022 without any phone call or notification that they were going to be delivered. We were out of town and a neighbor signed for them (he probably shouldn't have). On June 21st our contractor came to install. Unfortunately, he didn't thoroughly inspect before installing. One window was delivered broken so that was not installed. Of the three windows that were installed they were all defective. There are gaps on the straight edge piece on the fixed widow, caulking is oozing out of another window, there are scratches on the exterior of all the windows and marks that don't come off the white vinyl on the interior, and it is obvious that the seals were not installed correctly. There seems to be no quality control. Since the windows were installed (they shouldn't have been) *** is submitting a warranty claim. Hopefully a Jeld-Wen rep will come out to the house and see the shoddy workmanship. However, from their track record of closing complaints satisfactorily, I don't have high hope. A major investment for c*** My suggestion - stay away from this company, they are obviously having problems.

JELD-WEN DO NOT purchase a Jeld Wen exterior door!

DO NOT purchase a Jeld Wen exterior door! My door is less than 4 years old and it is a complete eye-sore on the front of my house. The random, blotchy fading on the bottom 1/3 of my front door is absolutely terrible. They only offer a one year warranty and offer very little in terms of a solution problems after that one year. The first customer service representative gave me base and stain information to purchase from Sherwin Williams. After visiting 3 Sherwin Williams stores, I found out that they have no product that matches the information that was given to me. The customer service rep I spoke with today said they have base and stain for touch ups that can be purchased. This is FAR more than a touch up problem. She proceeded to tell me that a different department would be in touch with me to discuss how many of these touch up kits I might need to purchase to attempt to repair 1/3 of my door. I find it appalling that I need to purchase anything - they should provide them to me at no cost because it is not my fault that their product failed after 4 years. If you are in the market for an exterior door, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT purchase a Jeld Wen door!

Buyer beware. This company customer service has got to be the worst in the industry. I will never engage in business with this company again. Placed my order for (5) Windows & (1) Transom and 6 1/2 months later (4) Windows and (1) Transom showed up. No excuses, zero communication they kept delay they delivery date 30 days every time I called. So that means 3 x 30 day late. Once I identified there was a Window missing, I was told another 3 weeks. This has held up completing a 10x11 room...can you imagine what it would do if your building a house ? Disaster!Typical of Companies that Over Promise and Under Deliver just to get an order..$8,500 and still nothing And as I read the other poor reviews, I am concerned about their quality and warranty support. If your considering buying Jeldwen run !

I bought the Jeld-wen french doors with the blinds in the center of the glass and have had them for about 8 years. One of the blinds came loose on one of the corners inside the glass.I contacted Jeld-wen and sent them the information information they asked for and received a replacement in a few weeks.

The only reason I choose one star is there isnt a choice for no stars. I ordered $12k with of doors through HD December 28th from Jeldwen. We called the local rep from *** to make certain if the order was placed their deliver date offers would be hit. He supposedly called Jeldwen and confirmed that they felt comfortable making delivery plus or minus a week. No longer that 2 weeks past the promised delivery date. Since January 28th they have promised the doors will be delivered next week. Now its April 3rd and still waiting. *** doesnt seem to care either. *** is really good at taking the order and demands 100% payments at the time of order but wont insist that Jeldwen delivery the doors. The excuses go on and on and on. I am so disappointed with *** for selling us a product that has such bad quality, service and delivery reviews. When you call Jeldwen customer service, they just say the doors are in production as we speak and you will have them next week. Absolute liars and thefts.

JELD-WEN Bought 2 - 8' patio doors and 2- 5' sliding windows in january

Bought 2 - 8' patio doors and 2- 5' sliding windows in january . Living in the upper midwest winters can get cold. We are concerned about energy usage is why we replaced our doors and windows. The first winter we had frost on the lower patio doors on the inside of the glass. Temperature reading was the low 30's on or near the lower inside of the glass. Had a service rep come out and we were told this is normal. That the house needed to breath. Of course i agree. But not to the degree of freezing on the inside glass. In the summer of 2019 and forward we are experiencing water filling the lower window frame again on the inside ( where the window slides ). This during blowing rain. Water does not drain out through the weeping holes and overflows into the house on our woodwork. We have soak it up each time we get a storm. I have contacted Jeld-wen many times and they keep saying they need additional information. Which we send them. Still no resolution. WE made a HUGE mistake when buying Jeld-wen windows and doors. Customer service is lacking customer satisfaction. Product is junk. My advice is spend a little more and get much better quality. DON'T BUY JELD-WEN. You'll regret it. Like we do.

We purchased Jeld-Wen sliding sliding patio doors with insert blinds in 2013. The blind on the stationary has not adjusted for approximately 3 years. The sliding side blind completely broke and will not even go up and down. After several emails I was informed they would send just the blinds and I would have to call a glass professional business to take the doors apart and insert the blinds. Much to my surprise a transport truck showed up with an entire sliding door and an insert door for the stationary side. The sliding door was NOT new. It had several gouges and scratches. The paint was very chipped and the glass had a huge scratch on it. The door I wanted replaced is in much better shape than the one they sent me with exception of the blinds. I have informed them of this and have had no response. Now I have to find a way to dispose of this used door they sent me. Plus I'm stuck with doors that the blinds will not operate at all. Very unhappy with this company. Luckily I have legal shield whom I will be contacting to see if they can help me with this issue. Do not use this company for any of your future window purchases. I would attach pictures if I could. I will be doing so on any other complaint site I can find.

JELD-WEN DO NOT BUY A JELD-WEN DOOR

DO NOT BUY A JELD-WEN DOOR. We purchased 2 doors from them. Custom ordered. Paint, Hinges, door lock sets , Aluminum clad trim. We spent 4k on 2 doors. The worst quality I have ever seen. The doors were missing paint. The aluminum cladding is not cut right. It is crooked. My entry door window was crooked by about 20 degrees. Aluminum clad had scratches in it. Our french door had the wrong hinges, was sent without the door handle set and had missing paint. It had paint all over the windows. The astragal kept the door from shutting and sealing. It has been a nightmare. Home Depot took picture of all of this. I have been in contact with the store manager for the past 2 days and today Jeld-Wen told the store manager that there were no such defects when it shipped yet home depot took pictures of all the issues before I even came to see the doors. I have siding people waiting on the doors. My house is exposed right now and can't do anything with the *** they sent out. Worst company and customer service I have ever dealt with. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. DO NOT DEAL WITH JELD WEN OR ANY OF ITS SUBSIDIARIES. One of the worst decisions I ever made for my home was to ordere their doors. The bad reviews you see, I believe are 100 percent true. The good reviews I no longer believe.

JELD-WEN I'm always will to give good reviews, and give credit where it's due

I'm always will to give good reviews, and give credit where it's due. I can't think of the last time that I ever gave a negative review, as I know understand how businesses operate and once in a while, there's bound to be a slip up or something falling between the cracks... However, this is absolutely the worst customer service that I've EVER experienced with ANY company. Their online system is flawed, their vinyl window product is garbage and don't stand by their product. They claim to get back to you within 3 days; they've only responded to me by email (weeks and months of waiting), My last request for a reply was April 23, and it's now June 17. They claim that the window out of warranty and is only covered for 2 years, even though their online warranty forms state otherwise. The vinyl on the lower portion of 3 windows in our home from a newly built home bubbled up within the first year, by the second year it got so bad that the windows get stuck when attempting to crank them open/closed. I have to manually push/pull the window from the outside, while my wife operates the crank from the inside. It's an absolute garbage product. We live in Ontario, Canada ... NOT Death Valley. I'm probably going to have to pay out of pocket to fix the issues with their poorly craft products. I just want to do my part to save others from similar headaches. The sunlight/heat should not be warping this "quality" window like this. The product is garbage, DO NOT buy!

JELD-WEN I ordered a Jeld-Wen exterior pre-hung front door with two sidelights from Home Depot back in April

I ordered a Jeld-Wen exterior pre-hung front door with two sidelights from Home Depot back in April . Prior to ordering, HD sent out a person to take measurements, then I chose the style I wanted. HD sent the information to Jeld-Wen. Approximately five weeks later, Jeld-Wen sent the door to HD, who checked it over and called them to let them know the measurements were not correct. Jeld-wen then told HD they should saw off part of the door and make it fit, which HD told them they could not and would not do (rightfully so!). HD called to let me know this, the door was sent back to Jeld-Wen and they told HD my correctly sized door should be in another month. I spoke with a HD rep on June 23, who checked online with Jeld-Wen and they said the door should be delivered no later than June 30th. I called HD today, they did not have the door and called Jeld-wen while I was on hold. He was told Jeld-Wen had NO RECORD of a delivery date for my door! I already have an installation appointment for July 13th. Even if the door miraculously arrives before then, I told HD I want to cancel this order immediately. I do not trust this company whatsoever. HD is working on getting this order cancelled. I truly hope I don't get stuck with a $5,000 (including installation) door that I no longer want. I wish I had looked at the Complaintsboard.com ratings before choosing this company. While I cannot rate based on the actual product, I am leaving a one star rating for terrible communication and customer service, and for trying to force HD to accept an incorrectly sized door.

This company has the most unprofessional customer service people, terrible quality control, and consumers should beware. I purchased an exterior 4 panel door that won't slide or lock for a new construction home. Despite being under labor warranty, the company would not send a technician to my home to repair these issues as there is no deck. When I questioned a customer service rep about the fairness of having an expensive exterior sliding door that does not lock nor slide in a new home that is still under construction, he HUNG UP on me. In continuation of trying to solve this issue, I chatted virtually with a service tech. He was great. He immediately determined my door had a manufacturing defect that would involve extensive work such as shaving the door and touching up paint, however since I don't have a deck they deemed it dangerous for a tech to come service it even though still under labor warranty. My labor warranty will run out prior to the deck being built. I wrote an email to the company asking if they would honor the labor warranty once my deck was built since the defect was found prior to it expiring, and they didn't respond - they merely sent an email with shipment notice of parts to be used to repair the door myself. I have no knowledge of how to do such a thing. I bought this door new, and should not be expected to fix a $5000+ door that was not manufactured correctly. I have never written so much as a bad review of a product, but such business practices should be criminal - and I highly discourage people from buying from them.

JELD-WEN We built our home in 2016 and installed Jeldwen products for all of our windows and patio doors

We built our home in 2016 and installed Jeldwen products for all of our windows and patio doors. We have had nothing but problems since the day they were professionally installed. First, the automatic window locks would just pop out when the window is being opened, causing the lock to break off, leaving a gaping black holes in the middle of my white vinyl windows. Then the "guts" of one window just fell out! I wasn't able to properly shut my window AT ALL! Not only that, but t he windows in one room frosted up so badly the first winter that we had 2-4" of ICE buildup on the INSIDE of my brand new house! Lastly, our gigantic patio door has never shut properly, rendering it basically unusable. The screen doors never worked at all. We've had the technician out to our home 3 different times and he slapped together what he could so my window would shut and popped some filler stuff in the broken window locks but nothing has been done about my patio door, one of the "fixed" window locks popped off, and I have a broke sash on my patio door. Jeldwen says despite these have been ongoing problems since day one, we are past our warranty and they will not fix any of it. I was led to believe I had lifetime warranty on my windows - but apparently that is not the case. I am so disgusted with this company. We spent a LOT of money on what I was told were good windows. I have HUGE windows in my home and they are totally unsuable. I cannot open the windows in the summer, and I have to put plastic or removable window caulking in the winter. We don't get to use the patio door and have to walk around the entire house to go to the lake. NEVER would I recommend this company to ANYONE.

JELD-WEN Although anyone and everyone that I have encountered to resolve my issue have been great to work with, the issue/problem remains unresolved

Although anyone and everyone that I have encountered to resolve my issue have been great to work with, the issue/problem remains unresolved. I bought a brand new built construction home in 2016. Jeldwen windows were purchased by the builder. All windows except for the largest one in my condo are air tight in the winter. Within the exception of a larger window that leaks cold air and has a terrible (I mean really bad) draft. This isn't just a small air leak, but instead pretty significant enough that even attempting to insulate myself with window gap fillers with individual window draft seal tape/foam doesn't even help. The windows within the window frame itself have been replaced along with other components. Draft is still present. Not to mention its more than difficult to replace the parts without scratching the vinyl on the window frame. I've asked to set up an appt with a technician so they themselves can see or even look at the problem, but Jeldwen prefers to have reps deal with it time and time again before you can get a technician to diagnose and understand the issue. I don't feel its appropriate to shrink wrap a large window in winter to keep my my home from losing heat when this is a very new home. Furthermore my ultimate goal by writing this on here the Complaintsboard.com website so others can see how difficult it is to use their so called "warranty services" when one buys into their business offerings. I do have an relative who is a builder and will never use Jeldwen because of such problems and low builder grade material that is not very energy efficient. Very disappointing. I truly hope as Jeldwen advances their current products they produce that they up their game to ensure every window sold is energy efficient and offer technicians to come into home to truly get a handle on diagnosing the issue.

JELD-WEN Disappointed with Jeld Wen French doors purchase and issues with missing parts and quality.

I'm dissatisfied with my purchase of two custom Jeld Wen French doors. After a 12-week wait and spending $7600, the doors arrived with numerous issues. The contractor found parts missing, such as the metal plate for the security pin. The paint job was subpar, with primer visible and smudges around the glass. Incorrectly, one door had four holes for the handle and lockset instead of two, forcing me to buy extra hardware. The store manager's response to these problems was unhelpful, suggesting a return with another lengthy wait. Additionally, one door lacked a hole for the security pin, requiring more work to drill into the metal. The doors, when closed, don't align properly, affecting my security system. To top it off, one door was the wrong style and of lower value than what I paid for. The manager's solution was to involve the contractor who placed the order. My advice: invest in quality doors from a reputable brand and avoid this hassle.

JELD-WEN NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Awful. They give you the run around on their warranty and we believe at this point that they do not intend to perform on their warranty now or at any time in the future. We paid approximately $30,000 for 11 panels of windows back in the spring, which were finally delivered in August. We have been waiting since August for them to rectify defects and replace window panels that they delivered, which were defective (visible scratches, dents and chips). The company said that we should go ahead to install them and that they would provide replacement panels in the next two weeks. After what seems like an impossible attempt at reaching anyone with any update, a re-delivery was finally made October 15-- however, those were similarly damaged, and the workmen took them back. We were told that they would provide new ones "shortly". On the rare occasion that I was able to get any feedback, we were constantly given the run around. I was repeatedly told that someone would contact me in 24-48 hours. Or next week. Or in the next 10 days. Or that as soon as the technicians received parts, they would contact me in a week. Or in 2 weeks. We were at the end of our rope and asked that they just settle for a discount on the panels rather than make us wait without any deadlines, so we could move on. Jeld Wen declined the discount and insisted that they were going to deliver the new replacement panels very soon, and that we should just wait. Nothing every happened, and nobody contacted me with any updates, regardless of multiple attempts and complaints to the distributor, except that we should just keep waiting. After I sent a complaint to the company, someone finally left me a voicemail on 11/20 and said that the panels were going to be ready on 11/30 and "as soon as" they were ready the technicians would contact me for installation. Nobody has contacted me since November 30, and this is entirely consistent with their M.O. since August and is not surprising. We are done waiting and have moved on. We understand that they are just making this process difficult so that they do not have to honor their warranty and we will eventually just go away. NEVER use Jeld Wen. I would caution anyone considering purchasing windows from them to expect absolutely no customer service whatsoever if there are any issues with the products. And these are very expensive products. DON'T BUY, DON'T DO IT.

My name is [redacted] Address [redacted] I'm filing this complaint to express my frustration from the experience I had with a window order. I went to a store on August 17, and spoke with the window associate to buy six windows from Jeld Wen. The associate informed me that the windows should arrive in eight weeks. The computer showed an arrival date of November 3. However, 10 days later, the date on the store's website changed to November 11. Upon calling the store, they confirmed the new arrival date. On November 5, I called again for confirmation and was assured the windows would arrive on November 11. On November 8, I checked again and was reassured by the windows and doors department that my order would arrive on time. Yet, the next day, I was informed the shipping date had been pushed to November 29. This has caused significant inconvenience as I have contractors scheduled for installation based on the previously confirmed arrival date. If I had known the company would not honor their commitment, I would not have ordered from them. I cannot cancel my order, but the company seems to change the arrival date without notice. I ordered Jeld-Wen windows from *** #*** on May 16, 2022. The Jeld-Wen representative, ***, and the *** representative, ***, stated that "delivery would be within 100 days", by August 24th. The receipt states an "estimated arrival date of 6/10/2022". I have spent all of July calling, texting and emailing both *** and ***, weekly, then daily. I finally received a response last week from *** after escalating to a *** manager, ***. The windows that were scheduled to arrive next week would arrive "11/14/2022", (see email July, 29), he stated it was due to the custom "Sea Foam" color. So we changed it to a standard color, black, which resulted in a delivery date of Jan, 4 2023 (see email Aug 8). We then requested to switch to vinyl windows for quicker delivery, he responded it would be no faster ( email Aug 9th). We have contracted with this company for their windows on their promised delivery date before winter. We have given them 3 options: wood in Sea Foam, wood in Black, or black vinyl. None of which they state they can deliver before October. Because of the delays in the entire window industry, switching companies will not get us windows before winter. There is substantial cost to this delay. I will not be able close my house to the elements before winter. My framing will soak in *** warping & getting damaged. My sheathing may weaken or have to be replaced. My fasteners will rust. The building and occupancy of my house will be delayed a minimum of 6-9 months. This will result in 10's of thousands in costs and damages. I need windows and doors by the end of September.

Bought a sliding patio door from Jedl-Wen v-*** through a dealer.The door is clearly defective. 1. The track that the door rolls on is loose and is a major safety hazard due to tripping.2. The astragal is very loose.3. One of the panels is difficult to slide and makes a grinding noise due to a poor fit with the top track,Contacted Jeld-Wen for warranty support. They have been completely unhelpful.March 28: Initial contact. *** rep *** rejected warranty support because a serial number is required. She was unable to provide valid instructions for locating the serial number for this door.April 18: The original dealer, 84 *** was able to get Jeld-Wen to acknowledge their warranty. *** rep *** promised *** parts would be in stock and a technician would contact me on May 5.No contact until June 1: Jeld-Wen claims the parts had to be re-ordered.June 1: *** rep *** promises to have a supervisor call me. hired this company to cut and install a door that I ordered from them. Not only did it take around 6 months for them to cut the door and install it. The cut it wrong and now I have a gap on the bottom of my door where air can come through. I told them about the issue and I set them measurements and pics. The never even sent someone out to look at it. All the did was send me some insulation parts to possibly repair it myself. I didnt spend the amount of money that I did to get shoddy work and to have to repair it myself

Also other parts needed to resolve dirt coming into main living room window daily, and now that spring is here I discovered a safety issue with bedroom window not locking. I called ***, left a message for her to get tech over here ASAP, she called saying my glass should arrive last week, did not dispatch, and just yesterday she did dispatch the current repairs to be done over a week later.I specifically asked management the first time to speak with production and ask that the replacement window be examined BEFORE shipment, supposedly it arrives again damaged, or does not arrive, what ever the truth is.I have traveled home from *** where my son lives, fighting for his life with brain cancer. times to accommodate the replacement, to then be told the above. Damaged or has not arrived even though I called and spoke with scheduling who said window arrived, now waiting on confirmed scheduling. This has cost me time with my son, gas money etc. no one cares!I have called headquarters leaving messages for someone to return call. I have yet to speak with headquarters. The door was purchased and MMI sent out an installer and the door was not aligned with the lock. There for we have asked that the installer come back and adjust the door. We have made calls for weeks. Emails were also sent. It has been over a month that I have waited and my door lock motor will soon break and I will not be able to secure my home. I continue to be told that I will be called back and that has not happened.

I ordered about $3,000 worth of windows from Menards on 06/22/22 and the order was confirmed to be shipped on 07/27/22. Order Number: ANTG30166931 Then the ship date slipped to 07/29/22. The next time I checked on the order, the ship date slipped to 08/03/22. When I checked on the order status on 08/02/22 in the morning, the ship date was still set for 08/03/22, in the afternoon the same day, the ship date was pushed out to 08/10/22. Today I went to the store to cancel the order, the store manager said the person from Jeld-Wen said the windows had already been built and are on the truck. I called Held-Wen support today and was told the windows are in a status of scheduling. I have a builder, I waited for two year to get, starting to build on my site and no clear understanding of when the windows will be available. So now the builder is not able to move forward because we do not know when or if the Jeld-Wen-Wen windows will arrive.Having the ship date continue to push out does not provide any information of when I will receive the windows or if they have even started to build them. If the windows have not been built< I may want to cancel the order.

April 11,2022 Jeld wen was to provide me with a replacement slab door for the original french doors I purchased that arrived damaged, they did send me a replacement slab which also arrived with damage I am unable to use these damaged doors. The first door is unable to lock in to place the mechanisms do not function and the second replacement slab the weather stripping has a big hole in it due to improper packaging for shipping. I have email this company several times with no response. If they could resend the slab again with proper packaging this would be great

I ordered 13 doors from *** 6/30 but they took months to arrive. I filed a warranty claim early July 2022 on one door and they are not honoring the 12 month labor warranty saying that the months I waited for the doors to arrive is part of my warranted period, when I did not have the door.I would like them to replace the door and provide the labor as warranted.

New Home Construction: Issues with Doors & Windows We spent thousands of dollars on Geld Wen doors and windows for our new home construction project (6,000 Sq ft home). We've had issues with nearly every door in the house. I called Geld Wen after moving into our home back in 2019 and it took several calls/weeks to get a team onsite to assess issues during early 2020 (doors would not close without using body weight and using deadbolt, inconsistent gaps between double doors, water coming in under doors, large windows in front foyer appearing to have gaskets peeling away. After calling GeldWen subsequent to the first tech visit, I was told that there was a complete write up of the issues but they were unable to share with me. After pleading for an update, I was finally told that there were door framing issues; however, when the techs arrived in July, they said that was not true and if it were, GeldWen would not even attempt to adjust the doors. The guys were here and made some positive adjustments which helped with many of the doors; however the living room replacement door going to deck, which is identical to our front door, has a significant gap between the permanent door vs. the door that opens into the living room. After I reported issues with our front door, I was told that that this model is not typically used for a front entrance door as they do not dead bolt into the floor and ceiling frame. Therefore, I want our front doors replaced with a standard front door that has the dead bolt in the floor and ceiling as expected. I also want all of the other issues addressed. We've been patiently waiting for these issues to be fixed for the last 8 months and we're not seeing a little progress. I've made more phone calls than I care to mention and I want a senior Geld Wen rep at our house to resolve these issues once and for all. We purchased a large amount of windows and doors from this company, spending thousands of dollars and deserve to get better treatment than what has been delivered so far.

11/6 date of transaction, never received the doors or windows, estimate arrival date 3/12 which was not correct received later than this.$4,856.40 amount of transaction for windows and sliding glass patio doors for a home that is over $500,000.00.When the doors were installed by the contractor in June the screens for the patio doors were not there. Numerous trips back and forth to the *** were needed to pick up screens that never were the correct ones, different colors, the first time they were picked up on 10/29, the screens had to be returned for there was factory damage to one of the screens. Attaching email from *** as proof. *** at *** said to contact Jeld-Wen via email to get this resolved and and they needed pictures sent. This was done in April 2022. Then they sent 4 more more screens, which were delivered outside and not even telling us in May 2022 which are the wrong color as well. So we have doors installed no screens.

I purchased a JELD-WEN front door with a double glass insert (SKU [protected]) at the end of 2021 from *** and it was installed on Jan14, 2022 (Warranty start date). In May I noticed that the frame around the glass was all deformed by the eat and I reported this finding to *** which had me file a warranty claim with JELD-WEN. However, the company claims no responsibility and mentioned warranty limitations and installation oversights. The product is sold as an external door and I was not informed of any specific disclosures or warnings about installation at the time of purchase but it turned out that:The door can only be utilized in shaded areas or protected by an awning The door cannot be painted a darker color (they custom paint it *** for a cost and never mentioned it)The door cannot be utilized in conjunction with a storm door The door cannot be facing south How can you sell this product as an external door? Is this product even at code with fire safety if it deforms in sunlight? The door that I replaced was 40+ years old and had no sign of heat damages whatsoever.

Ordered a Jeld-Wen French Door through Lowes. It is damaged and and the latch is defective. I received it in this condition. Lowes refuses to take responsibility and Jeld-Wen refuses to take responsibility. Jeld-Wen says the door is guaranteed for a year, but not for labor. I received it this way. They sent me a part that looks defective. I can't replace it and no one can tell me who can, Jeld-Wen suggested I call UTS. They didn't call back. Lowes won't help because I didn't use their install. How do I get help? I am too old for dealing with these unscrupulous businesses.

I have numerous times called *** and emailed then to get a email back from s *** claim # G22A24 The stickers are still on the door and only one side of the french doors are faulty and the seal has let go. I want to get fixed asap before the blinds in the middle get discoloured. I explained to them out basement flooded a couple of yrs ago and cannot locate billing. I also went to *** and lowes *** to see if they had a copy of *** at their end. I was told they could only go back 2 yrs. as it was purchased on the credit card which since has been closed off now. im sure they can tell by labelling on it. I just cannot get a response *** has been assigned this case and I have sent pictures to them regarding the issue. pls help

JELD-WEN Windows and screens are defective - do not function properly

Windows and screens are defective - do not function properly. Unable to open some windows. Unable to close some windows. Screens are difficult to install. Screens are too loose and do not fit properly. Problem History: Problems with windows and screens functioning correctly from the start. 12/31 - A Replacement sash was ordered for a cracked glass. Service was set up to replace the sash and inspect/measure screens. 2/5 - Tech replaced the sash. He found another sash with cracked glass. The tech ordered another sash, 4 screens and a RH handle. 2/6 - Parts were ordered and a new service was set up to install these. 3/13 - Tech went to installed these, but advised he had the wrong parts. 3/14 - Parts were reordered and new service was set up. 4/19 - Tech replaced the sash and found he ordered the wrong size screens. He re-ordered 7 screens (in 2 sizes) to be shipped and specified no additional work was needed. 8/1 - JELD-WEN was notified by the contractor that another casement sash had cracked glass in it and that 5 of the screens that were to be ordered were not received. (Found only 2 of the 7 had been ordered.) JELD-WEN ordered a replacement sash for unit with the cracked glass. JELD-WEN ordered the 5 missing screens per the tech report and his measurements. On 9/17 the tech replaced the sash with the cracked glass and installed the 5 screens. 11/19 - Contacted JELD-WEN. Problem with windows and screens functioning properly. No response from JELD-WEN 7/22 - Again contacted JELD-WEN re: windows and screens not working properly. (3 windows will not shut, 1 crank broken, several windows stick when opening and shutting, 19 loose screens) 7/29 - JELD-WEN said they would send out a service tech. No service tech visit has been set-up. 8/31 - Contacted JELD-WEN again. No service tech visit has been set-up. 9/17 - Contacted JELD-Wen again. No service tech visit has been set-up. 10/10 - No response for JELD-Wen. No service tech visit has been set-up.

I purchased a JELD-WEN window through Lowes in *** on 12/10 (purchase number ***), model number HU6965BLVSL27272, I was promised delivery in 14 weeks (would have been March 14th 2022, I have been told ever since then 2 more weeks, told one time was loaded on the truck would be there in 1 week. The purchase is for new home construction. My contractor is within weeks of completing home. However the exterior siding and interior construction has been on hold 7 weeks. This delay has resulted in extensive amount of money and costs by postponing construction. We are homeless. I NEED THE WINDOW NOW!

The lack of organization at Jeld-Wen is astounding. Our order (***, PA1059512) from November has still not been fulfilled and yet nobody at the *** can give us a straight answer where our missing items are. The warranty claim order (CE1744081) on the missing items has not arrived either and now the warranty claim has been delayed multiple times and we are being told late July 2022. How can Jeld-Wen expect customers to wait 9 months for their order to be fulfilled?! Every time we reach out to the ***, we get a new representative who is not familiar with the claim and gives us a different answer. At this point, our new construction project is on hold which is costing us money every day. WHAT A NIGHTMARE IT HAS BEEN WORKING WITH JELD-WEN. STAY AWAY!

The entire door and frame we received is creaking and crackling for hours a day everyday. We ordered the door on 6/19 through Home Depot via a credit card. The cost of the door was $3312.88. It was installed Friday August 28th. Once it was installed we noticed that the door was warped. We opened a claim with Jeld-Wen and our installer went through all the procedures to prove this and they are replacing the door. We have also noticed that the door constantly creaks and crackles. At first we thought it was the door being warped or even the wind so figured once we get the screen door it will be ok. The screen door was installed and it still creaks and crackles. At the time the installer came he was checking it out and its the entire door doing it. It doesn't matter if it's open, closed, cold, hot, windy, calm it creaks all day long. Our installer sent a notice about this on the existing claim and they came back with an answer of the door 'tinkles" because it is not cemented in. This sound is not a "tinkling" sound. it sounds like someone is cracking their knuckles all day long but louder.. Today we also sent a picture because the wood trim around the glass is warping. Their response was "The doors that you have are not rated for direct exposure to the elements and to paint the door a lighter color and buy a vented screen door". This is an exterior door. it should be rated for all elements as it is sold as an exterior door. I am deeply disturbed by the responses of this company. A door is not supposed to creak and crackle all day long. An exterior door is not supposed to warp in sunlight. This company needs to stand by their product and they are not doing that. I have asked for a full refund from customer service and they are stating there is nothing wrong with the door. They have not offered to send someone out to look at it and prove to me this is not a defect. I have attached a voice recording of the door crackling that I hear for hours a day every day... I am hoping a complaint with the Complaintsboard.com will help them look at this differently and make this right.

JELD-WEN We purchased and installed a french door in July

We purchased and installed a french door in July. Water leaked through the door, and the frame is cracking. Problem still not resolved A french door was purchased at *** in June , the door was delivered in July and installed. A few months later, we had a storm, water leaked in between the 2 doors. I called *** and they told me I had to call the manufacturer I called customer service around 12/7 and sent pictures at their request of the door open and closed, a close up of the threshold where the water was coming into the house 12/8 They requested a copy of the purchase order 12/9 I emailed that the door frame had water stains and mold 12/11 A different rep requested pictures of the door and the door sweep 12/14 Another rep requested more pictures 12/16 I sent an email to confirm the rep received the pictures I spoke to the rep by phone and was told the "wedge pads were not installed properly" therefore it is not covered under the warranty. Rep notified they would send instructions, wedge pads, and door sweep replacement. I also told rep that issue regarding cracks in frame was not resolved. 12/23 I replied by email that we did not install wedge pads. Door was delivered with wedge pads already installed. Also noted in email that the issue with the water stains and mold was not resolved. 12/26 emailed regarding cracks in frame getting worse 12/27 emailed more cracks in frame I have not had any phone calls or emails since 12/26 I received the wedge pads and installed them per instruction. The door would not close. It is recorded on video that the door would not close. 1/16 Since I did not get a response from Jeld Wen, I spoke to the dept manager "Jeff" at ***. He told me he would call the company and would get back to me. He also said the company would probably tell me since I didnt get it "professionally installed" that the door wouldnt be covered under warranty. I do not have to get a door professionally installed. This isnt the only similar complaint regarding these doors I did not hear anything back so I called again and was told to

JELD-WEN Garden door leaked water kitchen floor needs to be replaced

Garden door leaked water kitchen floor needs to be replaced. They will not replace door. contractors will not guarantee new floor w/existing door Purchased large garden door 5 years ago. Payed just over $8000 for it. Have a 10 year warranty. Have had several claims through the years for problems with door frames cracking and window blinds not working. They have sent several new inserts that we have had to replace ourselves. This past summer we realized that our hardwood floor at the back door has severe water damage from long term water leakage. We have a mat at the back door so we didn't realize till now. My house insurance has agreed to pay for the replacement of my kitchen floor. I had 2 contractors of my own come and look at my floor and door and my insurance company had their own contractor as well. They all came to the conclusion that the door was the issue. You will find attached the findings of the contractors and my insurance company. I contact Jeld-Wen and they sent out technicians to have a look. They pointed out a few things on the door that they "think" may have caused the leakage. In summary they would do things that would be a "process of elimination" as to what might be the problem. I had asked that JeldWen to replace my door and pay my deductible as in reality they should be paying for my floor replacement(but my insurance has agreed to). I received a call from them stating that they would not do either as they feel it is a maintenance issue that was my responsibility. According to them 1.my door was supposed to be shimmed up when it was first installed and it was never done That was not my responsibility. That was the responsibility of the installer 2: The weather stripping was faulty and somehow that is my responsibility as well In summary they are taking no responsibility for the defects in their door and now I have a damaged floor that has now bowed up and my door doesn't close properly and will not lock unless I put all my weight and push in the door. I have an alarm system and when I set the alarm it is unable to lock that door. It just keeps turning and turning. This is concerning as I have children that stay home alone and I can never guarantee that that door is fully locked when I leave. I don't think I am asking too much. Their door has been faulty from day one and now I have serious damage and need to replace my entire kitchen floor.

My windows have gaps and leak cold air which leaves thick ice buildup to the point where I can't open my windows if needed to escape, We built a house the summer of 2019 and moved in December 2nd. Our Jeld-Wen windows leaked cold air so we contacted our builder and he had the Rep from Jeld-Wen windows come out and they determined all of or most of the windows were missing some of the felt so the Service Tech came to our house February 3rd and "patched up" the areas where there was none. Work order(SR-XXXXXX). The end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 winter, our windows were doing the same thing, leaking cold air but it was worse this year. I contacted Jeld-Wen Customer Service and they asked me to fill out a form and send pictures of where the ice was building up, so I did along with some videos, work order(SR-XXXXXX). I didn't hear anything back so I called Customer Service and they kept telling me it was still under review, They wouldn't help me at first because my windows are not etched in the glass with their logo and I didn't have receipts so I had to get ahold of my contractor to get it, which wasn't easy. I emailed all the information they requested only to receive my denial under warranty letter. I was not accepting that letter because we were having the same issues and we felt like we were not being taken seriously so that's when I contacted the sales Rep, Chris Wirsbinski through email and he brushed me off saying he doesn't handle warranty issues and sent me back to customer service with no follow up call from him ever! I received my second denial under warranty letter and this angered us because the issue is obviously not corrected and some of the "patched" felt did not stick and fell off the windows. They tell us to turn down our air exchanger because this is only condensation but it is not just condensation, it's way beyond that. I have spoke with other professional window dealers and they tell us it's not normal for new windows to ice up like that and it is a safety issue if you can't get out of ur bedroom window in case of a fire. I find it very inconsiderate and worrisome that the people I contacted at Jeld-wen never seemed concerned or cared! We are very dissatisfied and disappointed how Jeld-Wen just took our money and ran. We only wanted the windows fixed before next winter arrives. We do not want to deal with this issue next year and certainly do not want another high heating bill because we strongly feel there is defects in the windows.

JELD-WEN Poorly made windows

Poorly made windows. Leak water, stress cracks, silicone all over windows, chunk cut out of vinyl frame etc. and it is not getting addressed. My builder purchased these windows for my porch. The windows came with one of them being defective. It had a chuck of the vinyl cut out of it during production and their own quality person marked it with a green marker. You could not see this marking until the windows were slide open, so the builder installed the window and I saw the defect after. Jeld-Wen will not own any responsibility for this and say that since it was installed it was our fault for not seeing the defect and rejecting the window. If they knew it was defective - and they did (the marking of the defect) then it is their fault and it should have never been shipped. If the defect and marking of the defect was visible before installation, the window would have been rejected. The windows leaked water and damaged my window sills with water stains as the sills overflowed with water and spilled over onto and down my walls. It was learned that the weep holed were not punched alll of the way through and that was the issue. one of those windows still leaks water into the sills and I am told this is normal and I need to deal with it. No other windows in my home do this and no other porch windows do this, so clearly there is still something wrong with it. The glass from one of the window separated from the vinyl, so they had to reglaze it. I have silicone finger prints, spears and droplets all over my windows that needs to be removed. I have a stress crack in one of the wondows that needs to be replaced. I have sent numerous emails with picture and completed Jeld-Wen-Wen forms to their customer service representatives and they continually say they never received them causing me to do it over and over again. When I call them, they always say, oh, here it is - no one attached the emails, pictures or forms to your file. They customer service is a wreck and this is a little evidence of that. I have had to call numerous times because of no response to my email inquiries and I literally sit on hold for over two hours each time because they have up to 40 people in question waiting to talk to a representative - another sign that this company has quality and customer service issues. I want my issues resolved in a timely manner. I have been dealing with this stuff for seven months now and they think giving me the run around will make me go away. I also want full reimbursement for my defective window.

JELD-WEN Sometime in early 2020 I came home from work to find that a large pool of water had leaked in from my patio door

Sometime in early 2020 I came home from work to find that a large pool of water had leaked in from my patio door. There was damage cause to my hardwood floor as it got wet and then when it dried it warped a little causing the sides of the wood panels to "curl" and therefore making the gaps between the wood panels larger than the rest of the floor. I contacted Jeld-Wen and on January 10 I paid the $200 for labor to inspect my leaking door. There was still warranty left on the door parts.There was an appointment made on February 3 to repair the door but got postponed due to Covid 19, there's nothing anybody can do about that.On Friday March 20 there was another Jeld Wen appointment. I take a vacation day off work so I could be home. The technician shows up, looks at the doors and tells me that the wrong parts have been ordered/sent for the repair. Nothing is done on this day except the technician blaming the water leak on a few different scenarios/people, none of which were affiliated with Jeld Wen. The scenarios ranged from me not cleaning out the drain holes on the bottom of the sill plate, to the door not being installed correctly, to the seal not being installed correctly. On June 15 Jeld-Wen makes another attempt to repair the leaking door. The glass inserts were removed, sealed and replaced. Sometime after this visit when I had a chance to use my backyard, I noticed that a yellow replacement part was put back in to replace a white part, very unsightly. Soon after that I noticed the white paint peeling off from around the glass insert/molding that was removed. In October we had a combination of wind and rain, the first since June at our location, and our door leaked again, enough that we had to place a larger towel down to soak up the water. And then a few days after the rain storm, water was still coming out of the door when I would open it. This is very disappointing since my hardwood floor around the door has already been damaged from the water of the previous leak, and now I'm worried about additional water damage. On Nov 16 I arrived home from work to find to find that a lot of water had leaked in and was going under my hardwood floor. There is going to be additional damage to my floor now. In summary I want the door to be repaired or replaced. I want what I paid for when I purchased the door, which is an all white door, with no leaking water. Also, since there is damage to my flooring, I want these repairs paid for by Jeld-Wen. I have lots of pictures and video if anyone needs to see them. Product_Or_Service: Twin Patio Doors

Every window in my house has seal failure, hazy windows installed in 2007 I purchased a home in 2018 that was built in 2007. Every window in this house except for 1 is hazy, I can barely see out of them when the sun is shining. I contacted Jeld-Wen about this. They asked me to compile a list of the numbers on each window and send them. I did this, I received a response from Phillippe Cavanagh in the QC office. He told me that the transferrable warranty expired in 2017. I asked him what is causing this haze as I have never had this before in any of my other homes. He would not answer the question. I asked several times and I received the same answer "As previously mentioned, Unfortunately the warranty no longer covers the product that you have. (Warranty was transferrable for 10 years. Expired 2017)" I asked him 4 times, the cause, I kept getting the same answer, so I assumed the answer was automated. I called left him a message, he called me back and said that his supervisor would respond to me. His supervisor Nathael Lapierre, emailed me agreeing that it is strange that all of my windows have this issue and that normally the warranty is longer and would cover this but in the case of the transferrable warranty expired in 2017. He stated that competition normally doesn't cover any warranty for transfers in ownership" ( I have not researched this). Nathael is going to have Phillippe contact me so they can kindly provide me with a quote for replacement with and without labor costs. All of this at my expense. I could swallow this if it was 1 window in my house. It is 99.9% of the windows in my house. This tells me there was an issue at the manufacturing stage. If this is (and it certainly is) a manufacturing defect, why are they not standing behind their product. Every building supply store that I have visited recenlty, who sell Jeld-Wen windows, I have inquired about Jeld-Wen's warranty, they have all told me or showed my the paper that states: Limited Life-Time Warranty. Why again are they not standing behind their product. I am disappointed that such a big company cannot stand behind their product. That because of a transfer of ownership, its their loop hole not to work with me to bring this to a satisfactory conclusion. I would expect more from this company. I would expect them to stand up and agree that if all windows have seal failure, something certainly went wrong when they were manufactured. I would expect them to say, "How can we make this right?" To date: I have not received the Quote for replacement, a cost I should not have to bare because I am the 2nd owner.

Jeld-Wen falsely advertises doors in multiple Jeld-Wen provided online and print medial that it cannot manufacture in order to lure in customers. I purchased a Jeld-Wen door at HD order HXXX-XXXXXX. On HD's website item number XXXXXXXXX shows a direct glazed glass door. Jeld-Wen is unable to produce this door. Looking at customer images, all doors came in with a raised panel frame around the glass despite the product image being direct glazed in the photo. Upon multiple contact to Jeld-Wen providing DFC-866DG-MG and SPC-866DG-MG and all other of their own part numbers in the catalogues they produce for their vendors, Jeld-Wen stated they cannot reproduce the door that is 1. on HD's website 2. On the rear cover of the 2019 produced print brochure jeld-wen made for HD, 3. on the quote hd provided showing a picture of the door that was to be delivered, 4. on brosco's jeld-wen produced documentation (page 274 and 272), 5. on jeld-wen's own website documentation on direct glazed doors. When speaking directly to Jeld-Wen they said direct glazed of the wendover glass is not possible. However, they have product codes such as SPC-866DG-MG, SPC-866DG-TPZ, SPC-866DG-KP, SPC-866DG-DRF all which are direct glazed decorative glass. They directed me to lowes, which states they don't sell jeld-wen. Home depot said they can't get the door. BMC said that all jeld-wen (and most manufacturers) use ODL glass. This is rather interesting as ODL, who supplies jeld-wen, makes a flush mount frame. When speaking to Jeld-Wen reps, they said such an option wasn't possible. How then can one of your local stores produce a flat frame (not a direct glazed still) yet the factory cannot and you both use the same supplier!?! Additionally, the product offered on HD's website is a smooth fiberglass door with black cherry stain. Ordering an unfinshed smooth door makes it impossible to stain as it comes with a paintable only primer. So how the heck did Jeld-Wen produce a smooth door with a stain and then make the consumer unable to reproduce it? Their solution is to upgrade to a FIR door at a cost and again no direct glazed option available. I am charging Jeld-Wen with false advertising. HD said they would order another door, however, Jeld-Wen maintained the same one with a frame around the glass would be provided despite what is in the picture in the attached quote not having such a frame. Despite what is on HD's website and print material not having a frame. You are advertising something which you cannot produce on sale at 830 and when someone tries to customize it now it is over 1200 dollars to produce what is pictured for 830.

JELD-WEN Purchased door with issues since installation, warped door found, claim denied by Jeld Wen

Purchased a door with issues since installation, finally found it to be warped, and submitted a claim to Jeld Wen, which was denied. Bought the door in Nov/Dec 2019, along with a storm door. Called on Dec 12th to express my concerns before leaving the country. The door had issues 1-2 weeks after installation. The contractor confirmed the defect three weeks ago (Feb 2020). Jeld Wen requested proof of purchase and photos, then stated that the presence of a storm door voids the warranty, offering to replace only the front slab. As a single parent, I'm frustrated by this response and the implication that the warranty is void, especially since there's still time left on it. I've been told that a storm door shouldn't affect the warranty, and the issue is with the door itself, not the storm door's window frame. The door was installed in Colorado's winter, so warping due to heat is unlikely. The storm door is currently the only way I can lock my front door, which is a significant safety concern. Jeld Wen's website claims their doors are warp-resistant, but my experience disagrees. I hope they resolve this issue.

JELD-WEN Refund sought for incomplete patio door order from a retailer, redirected to Jeld-Wen

I want a refund for my incomplete sliding patio door that was ordered from a retailer which redirected my request to Jeld-Wen. I ordered a Jeld-Wen replacement sliding patio door, complete with screen, from a retailer online. This was on 6/6. The store received the door on 6/29. When I went with my installer to pick up the door, my installer noticed a note taped to the frame of the door stating the screen door was back ordered with no expected ship date. The store receiving person made a comment about not seeing that before. I accepted the door with the assurances that the screen door would soon be shipped. At no time was I ever informed of any issue regarding the availability of the screen door, either by the retailer or Jeld-Wen. This was in July, and my installer went ahead and installed my door. At this time I noticed that there were multiple scratches and blemishes on the door finish not from the installer as I watched him work. I never commented on them as I was happy to have a door. My installer, trying to be a good guy, attempted to put my old screen door on my new door, but it didn't fit. Oh well, different brands and all that. I made several inquiries to the status of my screen door; 'it's still on back order,' was all I was hearing. The Assistant Store Manager, with whom I had been dealing, sent out a screen door saying it would fit. It didn't. The frame of my new patio door is slightly larger than most doors (meaning slightly less glass, not bigger overall) I liked the wider frame but that means there's slightly less room for the screen door frame. It has to be the screen door specifically for my model of patio door. By the end of August, I was getting perturbed; still no screen. I again contacted the assistant manager at the store. He told me that Jeld-Wen's door screen manufacturer had been shut down due to Covid, but they expected to begin filling back orders soon. Not my problem. Do I understand their issue? Yes, but that doesn't get me a screen door that I ordered in good faith. I felt that this had become a retailer issue with Jeld-Wen that apparently no one was willing to rectify nor is seemingly sorry about. Early September, the assistant manager called me saying he ordered just the screen door under my original order number, and it should be shipped by the end of October. Okay. Then I get a text thanking me for my order, but it's not shipping until 12/31. Now, the earliest ship date is 3/24. On Nov 23, 20, I filed an Installed Customer Complaint with the retailer asking for a refund in order to purchase a different door from a different supplier. The retailer bounced this to Jeld-Wen. After the initial call from Jeld-Wen, I've had to initiate every line of communication. I heard on 12/28 that Jeld-Wen had denied the refund request. Everyone keeps promising to 'check with the plant on the screen door' but as of now, I've not heard anything. I'm attaching a copy of the original invoice for the door and for the labor involved with the installation. A new door would involve twice the labor. And, I'm to the point where I feel justified in asking for an inconvenience payment.

JELD-WEN Purchased Jeld-Wen doors arrived damaged, awaiting partial refund

We purchased new Jeld-Wen doors, which arrived damaged. We are waiting on a partial refund. Double exterior entry doors were priced at $2,659.64. The purchase date was in June, and it was expected to take 4 to 6 weeks for manufacturing and delivery. Upon delivery, the doors, though the packaging was intact, had a dent and blemishes. After contacting Jeld-Wen, they agreed to manufacture a new set. By November, the replacement doors arrived but did not fit due to mismatched hinge cuts. We opted for a partial refund instead of waiting for another set. Despite agreeing to a 50% refund in December, after much follow-up, we have yet to receive it. Our experience has been marred by poor customer service and unfulfilled promises.

Continued mis-delivery of parts for completion of installation of new windows. This has been an issue since August 13. Attached is a letter of complaint with attached correspondence to the Jeld-Wen Customer Care department which was sent to Mr. G S. M, President and CEO of Jeld Wen Windows and Doors on January 5th: January 5 Mr. G S. M President and CEO Jeld Wen Windows and Doors *** Dear Mr. M I have been along term customer of Jeld Wen products installing both standard and custom windows and doors as we have remodeled our home over the past 20 years. I have invested in the neighborhood of $20,000 or more in product from your company over the years. During this past summer of 2020 we did a major addition to our home and used, exclusively, Jeld Wen for double hung windows, patio doors, and French doors based on our previous satisfactory experience with your company. I am very sorry to say we have been far less than satisfied with our recent experience both with the quality of the products as well as the level of customer support we have received. We still have outstanding issues that I first addressed with your customer care representatives in August, almost 5 months ago. Following is a copy of the e-mail string that started then and has yet to be resolved satisfactorily: --------------------------- 11/22 5:31 PM To: *** Jessie, I have forwarded to you separately three of several correspondences previously sent to Jeld-Wen regarding the issues with our double-hung windows and sliding glass patio doors. 5 of the 6 windows ordered with tan jamb liners came with white liners. The numbers you requested for the double-hung windows are as follows: 1) Upper: G/Lower: G 2) Upper: G/Lower: G 3) Upper: G/Lower: G 4) Upper: G/Lower: G 5) Upper: G/Lower: G There does not appear to be similar numbers on the patio doors. They are on Menards order number *** dated 5/29 with SKU number ***. These are two identical doors. One was shipped with a damaged screen that needs to be replaced. This has been requested several times through Menards. The other needs to have the bottom rollers replaced as per the technician that was sent out to replace the wrong colored window jamb liners. As per the other correspondence e-mailed to you, the technician arrived with one set of jamb liners that were the wrong size! When we asked about the difficulty in sliding one of the patio doors he indicated the rollers needed to be replaced. He knows what we need. You know how to contact him. Please get him the required parts to finish this job properly! As per the other e-mails we have lost patience regarding these issues and the multiple times we have had to address them with Jeld-Wen. You need to take responsibility to get this taken care of. My next correspondence will not be with customer care. It will be addressed to officers at your firm, the complaintsboard.com, State and Federal consumer protection agencies, managers at Menards, including John M and my attorney.
