KB Home Excessive delay to finish home

We signed a purchase contract with KB Homes on a model home at 26 Rio Grande Lane, Willow Spring, NC 27592 on May 29th, 2022. At the time of our signing, we were informed by the KB sales agent, that the model home would be completed by the end of August, around the same time we would be closing on our own home. We believed this timeline was reasonable because it would not take much time to convert the model sales office to a garage. In fact, we were told by the KB sales agent that they do these model transitions all the time and that it could be completed within 30 days if necessary.

On July 8th we were sent an email from the KB sales agent saying our closing date was going to be delayed one month, until the end of September. There was no reason given for the delay. Needless to say we were very disappointed and would need to find another place to live for a month since our current home would be sold on August 24th. We asked the KB sales agent to get a firm, new closing date and with some persuasion we were given a new closing date of September 29th. Our realtor spoke with the KB realtor and was told our closing had been delayed so KB Homes could complete a model home in another subdivision. There is nothing in the sales contract we signed that says our closing could be delayed until another model home was completed.

After this disappointment, we were in more frequent contact with the KB sales agent to get updates on the new timeline to see if it would be met. Another month went by and there was no work done on the home. Our realtor spoke with the KB sales agent, and he said the transition of the model office to a garage was going to start on August 12th which would give them plenty of time to finish by the end of September. We went by the home on August 14th to see if work had been started but it had not. We spoke with another KB sales agent working there at the time and she said she had heard nothing about the model being converted. We were devastated. We had been waiting 2.5 months for our home to be completed and nothing had been done. At this point we realized that the new timeline would also not be met.

We began looking for another home to buy because we could not rent our apartment for more than a month. We found another home to purchase on September 1st and our realtor sent the KB sales agent a termination letter to end our contract with KB Homes the same day. The closing on our new home would be the same time as the KB home, on September 29th. After sending the termination letter to KB homes we waited more than a week to get a reply. Our realtor called the KB sales agent and was informed in may take 4-6 weeks to get a return termination letter. Our realtor was very upset at this reply since it is against National Association of Realtors policy to purposely delay signing a termination letter.

Finally, on September 20th, we were sent a termination letter from KB Homes. Since we did not want to be under contract on more than one home, we signed the termination letter, even though the letter stated our earnest money would not be returned. Out of curiosity we went by the KB model home in Willow Spring to see if work have been started on the home. The offices had been removed but the garage and landscaping still had not been completed. Also, the water heater had not yet been installed. As we anticipated, the timeline of September 29th would not have been met on the KB home.

Because of poor planning and prolonged delays by KB homes we are requesting the return of our $5000.00 earnest deposit on the KB home.

We believe our earnest deposit should be returned for the following reasons,

1. Our sales contract did not say that our closing could be delayed while another model home is being completed.

2. We were knowingly misled regarding the timeline of our closing. This is likely due to KB Homes management not clearly communicating with their sales agent.

3. KB Homes did not follow lawful procedures during the termination of the contract. Not only did KB Homes delay signing the termination letter, but they knowingly listed the home on the MLS on September 8th, almost 2 weeks before they sent us the termination letter.

Desired outcome: Return of $5000 deposit

KB Home Repairs

I have been dealing with nothing but constant repairs of my home mainly great room ceiling and my entire floors so let’s start with the floors November 2021 it was deemed my my home had soft grout through the entire house as well as numerous hollow tiles and cracked tiles. December 28, 2021 builder sent out the flooring company to complete their hollow tile and cracked tile repair. That job was only supposed to take a day, it turned out to be a week repair due to, the gentleman doing the repair, not knowing what he was doing. I caught him on numerous occasions, watching YouTube videos on how to complete the repairs. The builder failed to tell me that this would be a very messy repair, my entire home, including furniture, clothing, bearing walls were covered in complete dust during this repair to the point my partner got sick because of the excess dust in the air and on our clothing and bedding we had to live in our master bedroom for a week we could not make dinner because our stove sat in the middle of our dining room for a week could not even set up Christmas because we would have to take it down a few days later so they could do their tile repair needless to say we didn’t even get to have New Year’s because the job was completed a day before New Year’s and we spent it trying to clean the entire home New Year’s all the way up to New Year’s eve app for 24 hours. Needless to say the repairs were not done correctly we had uneven tile and additional hollow tiles throughout the home well the builder sent the flooring company back a few weeks later to start additional hollow tile repairs well not only did they get the repairs completed, but they caused additional hollow tiles along with chipping numerous tiles throughout this repair, the floor company tried to cover it up until I mopped and whatever they used to cover these chips even in the middle of the tile and started washing away, exposing the chips that they were trying to hide I let the builder now they sent the flooring company out to inspect the flooring company at that point try to say certain chips were already there, which were not needless to say they sent them back out to to do a chip tile replacement and additional hollow tile replacements. Well here we go again needless to say they completed the repair the cost additional hollow tiles now let’s fast forward to August they finally send the flooring company out to complete more hollow tile repairs. At this point the person doing the repair, use the incorrect grout color I have urban putty, grout color. The guy doing the repair, ended up using antique white grout reported this to the builder. They said don’t worry about it that when they stain the floors, it will hide that OK fast forward to a week later, the builder since the flooring company out to start their extensive grout repairs which consisted of them moving all my furniture out of my home having five people on their hands and knees with razor blades, scraping out grout and repairing uneven, grout lines repairing areas that had little to no grout and making it more uniformed and even flowing throughout the entire home Well that repair was a failure not only did the grout not come out uniformed or even flowing through the entire home they also used the incorrect grout. They ended up using a biscuit grout again. I contacted the builder. My warranty representative told me oh, don’t worry the grout stain will hide all that well at this time, my entire floor grout look like I tried to bleach it because I had nothing but white, grout lines flowing through urban putty, grout lines, but I trusted the builder when they said oh the stain will hide all this well, we had to reschedule the hardening and staining and push it back a week because they had to send the flooring company out to attempt to try to fix some areas in the kitchen that were low, grout lines and uneven. Well, I still have uneven, grout lines but needless to say a week later, they came out and moved all the furniture out of my home again to start, hardening the grout. Then they came back the next day, and moved additional furniture that they moved in such as the bed and dresser so I had a place to sleep and started their staining process. Well the staining process was a failure. The staining company was having difficulties getting the stain to match and blend in with the existing urban putty to where they applied numerous coats of stain to wear it. Now it’s shiny paint with brush strokes in my grout lines and I have white color grout and dark color grout to the point. My grout looks dirty and it’s not dirty it’s due to them using the incorrect grout color in the stain not taking well a few weeks later a they went ahead and sent the flooring company out along with an inspector from the staining company to look at the floors. The flooring company was here to do additional sanding of the grout to make it even flowing due to high areas of grout that formed little mountains or hills in the grout lines and another person filling in a low grout line in my entryway. Well during this process, the inspector came out and told them to stop what they were doing to only go ahead and complete filling in the grout line in the entryway because the entire floor Hass to be stripped and completely redone because of the incorrect grout color plus uneven, grout lines. At this point my warranty rep with the builder scheduled them to come out and re-stain again I had to reach out to a gentleman and corporate is station here in Phoenix, Arizona to let him know the situation him along with my warranty representative came out to my home and looked at the floors. They went ahead and scheduled someone that lives next to him that specializes in custom grout coloring. They came out and looked at my floor grout and asked me at this point what do I want done and saw areas where the stain was peeling from the grout as well as uneven, grout lines along with the grout stain not taking with the new grout well they come back a week later and state that they’re going to go ahead and redo the process again extensive route repairs, hardening, and staining, which will consist of moving everything out of my home again OK well that was scheduled for yesterday which would be October 17, 2022. I’ve already started the process of moving the white stuff out into the garage so the movers can move the heavy stuff such as beds dressers couches tables all to be told by the flooring company that they cannot complete the repair due to the builder, not scheduling the stain company to come out and completely strip the current Hardner and stain from my floor, at this point, I am currently living in my home with just necessities such as a bed a couch a TV for another week. I reached out to consumer relations along with the gentleman that is part of corporate station here in Phoenix, as well as my warranty, representative and partner I told them that I would like my entire floors replaced at this point because of the constant failed repairs the constant scheduling issues to the point where we’re having to push the repairs out for another week reviewing the new schedule they gave me they would be moving my furniture in and out of my home a total of four times during this second repair process consumer relations responded back, stating that they apologize that I am frustrated and I feel that this is an inconvenience and that there’s nothing they can do because our home warranty repairs are done at the local Phoenix division level so there’s nothing they can do at that point. I heard back from my warranty representative and the gentleman that’s corporate stationed here in Phoenix, telling me that they will not replace my floors. They are going by their industry standards and being in my home. None of the furniture Has to be moved out but if I want movers, I can request movers little does he not understand they have to move everything out of my home to remove the current Hardner and stain and then move it all back out again a week later to re-harden and stain the floors for a second time. Now let’s jump to the ceilings. My home has numerous drywall cracking. They’ve sent multiple companies to repair cracks in my ceiling to the point when they painted the paint started not to match the ceiling. At this point I spoke with the home warranty rep, and he came to the agreement to go ahead and repaint the entire ceiling, well the paint was an utter disaster. I had nothing but roller marks, dry, roller marks, roller texture, lines, streaks throughout my entire ceiling. Well the builder sent the painters out again to repaint the ceilings. Needless to say that paint job was another disaster as well outcome was the same , well they sent the painters out again at a disaster. Again, nothing but streaks, roller marks, dry roller marks areas missed, but this time areas of my ceiling that were repaired started to form humps so the gentleman from corporate came out to my home walked walked the ceilings, open windows, blinds doors, etc. saw the streaks then he went to my garage because I had numerous drywall cracks in my garage ceiling that were repaired numerous times that a failed install that a recent repair that was done a few weeks prior has also failed in drywall tape was starting to come down from the ceiling well the spent about two weeks looking for a painter while they have the house sanded and re-textured and have the crack in my garage repaired. They finally find a paint company that they said that they use for their other homes well that paint company comes out and does a good job. No roller marks on my ceiling. Only issue is they missed a spot in the kitchen well they send the painters back out the next day they paint the spot on the ceiling, but at this time the painter told me to take a look at my garage so I go and look at my key. That spot looks great. The painter then walks me out to the garage and shows me the cracked that they repaired. Two weeks prior has failed, and re-cracked again , then they show me the crack in my ceiling that they just repaired in July 2022 failed and re-cracked again so I contact the builder at this point my warranty rep tells me to caulk it and paint it myself. I told him no this repair was just done in July and it failed and y’all just painted the ceilings the day before I want this fixed professionally well, here comes my warranty representative along with the gentleman from corporate they look at the crack in the ceiling and then they look at the crack in the garage, they said that they will not fix the crack in the garage because that’s normal cracking due to vibration from the garage door opener plus the heat in the garage They have the drywall company come out a week later, along with the gentleman from corporate to look at the crack, forming in the middle of my ceiling in the great room again at this point they decided to do what they call a crack tape repair I was advised that this repair would take three days Because the extensiveness of the repair they also had additional cracks reforming again from previous repairs that they also had to repair. The gentleman comes out at the end of September beginning of October 2022 they say he’s the best of the best and he can get the job done within one to two days. He showed up at my home at 7 AM. He completed the cracked repairs by 8 AM , at this point, I noticed, while the texture and mud was drying that you could still see the drywall tape in the ceiling, they told me don’t worry the paint will hide that well needless to say, they sent them back out again to send it down and retexture this time instead of him coming back the next day to sand down the texture, he came back four hours later, while the mud and texture was still wet and attempted to sand well, at this time they’ve already had the paint scheduled. They told me it would be the entire ceiling being repainted so everything is uniformed and everything blends after the ceiling texture dried I noticed the texture was thick on the ceiling. It needed to be sanded. The gentleman from corporate that stationed here in Phoenix scheduled a time and day to come out to my home. Well, he was a no call no show, but apparently he showed up at 8 AM that day to pay a visit to my neighbor because she is also having numerous floor issues but he never came to my home. I sent him numerous emails asking him what time he would be here because I need to go to the vet. My guinea pig was sick and I needed to take her to get looked at no response . I waited another hour for a response still no response I ended up, leaving to take my sick animal to the vet while monitoring my ring doorbell for anybody to show up no one showed up. I ended up getting a response later the next day saying he had a medical emergency and that he would like to schedule the same day. The painters are coming out. I told him well we can reschedule the painting so you can come make sure this is done correctly before they touch the ceilings. He said no he ended up showing at my home the day of the painting at 7 AM contacted the paint company and ask them to sand down areas he says that he’s noticed areas in the ceiling that have little to no texture, and that the texture that stick needs to be even flowing to make it more uniformed and blending in with the rest of the ceiling, and to go ahead and repaint the entire ceiling Well, the painter show up start working on the area and only started painting that area. He said that he was advised by the gentleman from corporate to only paint the repaired areas. I was then on the phone with warranty, explaining I was advised by the gentleman from corporate that the entire ceilings will be repainted due to numerous failed attempts last time Well five minutes later they give the painter to go ahead to repaint the entire ceiling at this time the painting was completed paint wet so you couldn’t really see the ceiling texture that was supposedly sanded, but never was and the painter then showed me the humps reforming in my ceiling in the areas that were repaired Well here we go again so I took numerous pictures and sent them to my warranty representative along with the gentleman from corporate. They went ahead and scheduled drywall to come to my home last a day before the gentleman from drywall came out to look at the ceilings. I emailed a gentleman from corporate and asked if we can go ahead and have the entire ceilings retextured due to numerous issues with the ceiling to where we have inconsistent texture, bald spots, 5 to 6 coats of paint on the ceiling, roller texture, everything well, the next day, the gentleman, their field manager, from the drywall company came out to look at the ceilings, and I talked with him, and I’ve also contacted my warranty representative because I have not heard back from the gentleman from corporate on see if we can get the ceilings retexture I advised him at this point due to the numerous issues with the ceiling, and the numerous times of the ceilings had to be repainted because of past mess ups I would like the ceilings completely retexture. He then stated that he would reach out to the gentleman from corporate to see what we can do. He called me five minutes later to tell me to go ahead and send the drywall guy away and not to complete the repair. They went ahead and got the OK from the gentleman from corporate to go ahead and schedule the ceilings to be completely re-textured , I did advised him that I can stay at a family members while this is getting done. Drywall guy told me with this would consist of is removing all Vincent light fixtures from the ceiling. All furniture would have to be moved out of the air is being repaired the entire walls and floors would be plastic off. I asked them well since I may be staying with family and all furniture will already be out and everything being removed from the ceiling. Could the ceilings be sprayed? He says he doesn’t see why not because the areas that are being repaired would be completely sealed. All furniture will already be moved out, well my warranty guy then contacted me back after drywall left to confirm that they are going to go ahead and schedule for the re-texture of the ceilings. I mentioned about the painting they told me that they cannot spray the home due to OSHA I did reach out to the gentleman from corporate thanking him from deep down in my heart for approving to get my ceilings retextured. We’re finally on track to getting the repairs done properly , and then I did ask him if we can go ahead and get the ceiling sprayed and I can go stay with family since the home is already going to be sealed in these areas and all furniture already been moved last October 13, 2022. I received an email back from the gentleman from corporate. He stated that the texture would be hand applied and does not see any reason why I would need to move out of my home and that they will not spray the ceilings that my warranty representative will reach out to me with further details, at this point, I went ahead and reached out to consumer relations on Saturday to see if there’s anything they can do about getting the ceiling sprayed due to numerous issues in the past with them messing up on painting the ceiling. Well I heard back from consumer relations saying that they don’t know the difference between spraying versus rolling in. There’s nothing they can do all home warranty. Repairs are handled at the division level here in Phoenix, Arizona so yesterday evening October 17, 2022. I got a text message from my warranty representative asking me where the humps are in the ceiling I didn’t again told him where the humps were at that time I asked him why do you ask are they at this point refusing to redo the ceiling texture he didn’t message me back stating they will not read text from my ceilings. They are going to go by the state of Arizona industry standards. Seven minutes later, I received an email from the gentleman from corporate stating that they will not replace the floors and they will not retexture the entire ceilings. They will go by the state of Arizona standards and repair the humps, and any additional humps in the ceiling to bring the ceilings to Arizona standards and that no movers are necessary because he’s been in my home and that movers are available if I need them I replied to his email with a previous video I did showing the extensiveness of the floor repairs and saying this is 100% of my home being redone with grout and the movers are required and then I also sent him a screenshot of his email that he sent to me October 13 basically stating that they’re going to hand apply the texture to the ceiling and that they will not spray the ceiling and this should not require me moving from my home I feel since I contacted consumer relations regarding the flooring issues and trying to ask about getting the ceiling, sprayed at the retaliating against me, and now are refusing to do the repairs that were promised and agreed-upon

Desired outcome: The entire great room, which consists of kitchen, dining room, living room, all the way up to the front door, retextured and painted properly floor repairs done properly without any further issues

KB Home Cancellation of purchase contract: 14906 Coral Snake Way, San Antonio Tx, 78253

The reason we made our decision to cancel our purchase of this home was due to our front entrance of the home being within 6 - 7 feet from the front entrance of the home plan next door. We were never informed that the home plan next door would also have a front entrance that would be side by side next to ours. Of all the homes in this neighborhood that are being built, our home is the only home that has adjacent front door entrances... all other homes are separated by driveways. When looking at the home, it looks like a duplex home. If we were informed of this before concrete pouring of the next door home, we would have most certainly questioned this to our KB Home representative (Donna); However, we were never informed nor given the opportunity to present our grievance regarding this issue. With front entrances in such so close proximity; there is no privacy. Our intention was to never walk from our contract, as we really liked the floor plan of this home, but in the end, we are not comfortable living with no privacy in the front entrance.

Desired outcome: We would like very much that you understand our reasoning for not moving forward with this purchase and request that we are refunded back some or all of our $1,000 escrow and $7474.00 deposit that we pre-paid.

KB Home Contract changed - earnest money not refunded

Homesite : #072, Sauls Glen, Raleigh North Carolina

I signed contract in May end 2022, in early June 2022 the earnest money of $5000 which I gave via check was deducted from my checking account.

Before signing contract the sales agent assured that if any material change happens the earnest money would be refunded.

In July 2022, KB home changed the price of the property and sent me an addendum over the contract to sign. I did not sign it as it was a material change. Also, I was asked by my employer to relocate to a different location so I thought its better not to sign. I informed this to the sales agent, and as a result, KB home cancelled my contract and the sales agent informed me that I would get my earnest money refunded and that it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get the refund. This conversation happened on July 13, 2022.

Its been more than 2 months I did not get my refund, when I followed up with the sales agent, he informed me that they cant refund my money as its not in the contract. When I told him that I never signed the addendum (the 2nd contract after the change) he said that he is just a sales agent and do not have any say in this. This was on 27th September 2022.

I have tried to reach to KB Home Corporate via their email but did not get any resolution so far.

What is my legal rights here?

The sales agent who informed me before signing the contract saying that if there is any material change in the home before closing, and I back out, my earnest money would be refunded, emailed me saying that now they denied refund as the statements are not there in the original contract. Later I followed up on email with the KB home corporate customer care that I had emailed earlier regarding the same. I had made up my mind to fight this case out legally in court and I asked them in the email to reply whether they are refunding or not. In about 15 minutes of my email, the Vice President of Sales from KB Home Durham, NC office called me and I explained to her all that had happened in chronological order. She said that she would conduct an internal investigation and get back to me. After some time she emailed me that after investigation they have decided to refund my earnest money. After around 1 hour of that email I received another contract addendum from KB home via docu sign stating that seller agrees to refund the earnest money and the reason was stated as "Buyer's Remorse". I signed it and sent it back via docu sign, also downloaded a copy of it and emailed it to the VP of sales who contacted me earlier. After few days I got a check of $5000 from KB home via fedex delivered to my home, and I have encashed it. I would like to thank KB home VP of sales for being honest and also would like to advise that your sales agents should be trained to make honest and clear declarations to any customer on any topic so that customers are well informed before signing any contract with you. Earnest money is a negligible amount before your company's reputation and you should always prioritize on being honest through any of your employees be it sales agent or VP of sales, concentrate on transparency and building good relations with customers and public. Thanks, Prithiviraj

KB Home Home

Good afternoon, Sir I know that your time is extremely valuable and I thank you for taking the time to read this letter. In November of 2020 I decided to start the process of buying a home with KB homes and the process hasn't been stellar. I know as a steward of this company, I'm sure that you would want to know about a process that hasn't been the best. In this letter I will be detailing my experiences from the time I applied to just getting my letter to close, from the building practices to communication with your staff and loan officers.

An application of course is pretty easy what wasn't easy to take is that my application wasn't even pulled. I applied in November of 2020 I drove by the site nearly every weekend looking to see what was going on and when I saw that the models were done in mid-January I finally walked in and asked for a tour. I was greeted by your sales agent Tristan he was very courteous and helpful and allowed me to take a tour and then said all I needed to do was apply and that it was a first come first serve basis because there was limited homes and that they will go in order. I told him great I applied in November he asked me did anybody contact you and I said no. Tristan then proceeded to get me on the list to wait to be called to pick a home site. I finally got the call around March I believe and I was told that I would need 5000 in earnest money to secure the site I said no problem. When I was on my way to bring the money in, I was told it changed to 8000 I said OK fine. I had to wait a further three or four months to get into the design studio which happened around June or July of 21 I picked lot 27 initially and we were moving forward. Then all of a sudden, we were not approved. Lot 27 is a border lot which is highly prized of course, losing 27 forced us to pick an interior lot 37 the reason for us being denied despite showing near $150,000 in assets and great scores was because my brother currently didn't have a job Our loan officer asked us to get a letter from the employer, he was currently in negotiation with his former employer but turns out the letter was not enough. We eventually got approved and were waiting on the ground breaking. Before ground could be broke, we had to sign an agreement initially we were presented with an interest rate of 3.7 we signed the documents and we believe that that would be our rate. however, unknown to us we were not locked I told Jaysom that we put aside $50,000 for this project if we would have known we could have locked that 3.7 we would have done so now we're at 4.75.

Let's discuss the home first off, I'm on my third Superintendent. Going through this process I did a lot of research and I requested that the garage be put on the bigger side of the yard I was told by my sales agent Tristan OK no problem.. I wanted this because if an addition was to ever be made that's where you would want to do it, however when the slab was poured, I noticed that the garage was on the other side. The reason I was given for this was 1 you can't have the garage on the side of a drain and that KB just doesn't allow it. I was given these excuses by two different people and I'm wondering why I wasn't told this in the beginning. In my options contract I requested that the master toilet be enclosed but on the blueprints it was not. I requested that every wall be insulated, me and my agent remember this very well that was not done. My dream home is Becoming an actual dream..

My most pressing concern is the installation of the zip system sheathing. The zip system it's a very good system it comes with a 30-year warranty so long as it is installed properly. The system is totally dependent on the exterior barrier marring with the zip system tape, in order for the tape to marry with the sheathing it has to be rolled properly and nails can't protrude so on and so forth. However, in my home there are dozens and dozens and dozens of examples where nails have breached the sheathing, protruding out the zip system or the tape not being rolled even though it states on the tape to roll the tape. I brought these concerns to the Superintendent at the time and he assured me that it would be taken care of I stop by every week to see if it was done it was never done. I even asked the Superintendent could I use liquid zip or the zip system tape to seal the problem areas myself and he said no. Next thing you know the sidings up and I have to eat that. Not having a house sealed properly having dozens and dozens of nails that go to nowhere that are not flush with the sheathing creates spots for moisture gets into the system, the particle board is not pressure treated so when moisture ever gets in there it'll create mold and that could be a mess that can take 10s of thousands of dollars to clean up even as early as a year down the road or less.. For this malicious incompetence I would like the house to be reduced $50,000 I think that this is more than fair to protect myself from problems I'm bound to have down the road. I went the new construction route to avoid these concerns now the very concerns I was hoping to avoid are now a constant thought.

Desired outcome: Price of home reduced by 50,000

KB Home Earnest Money not refunded yet after we cancelled the booking

We have booked a Home directly with the KB Home at Canyon Crest, San Antonio, Texas.

We booked the home on 30-March-2022 and we canceled the home on 11-April-2022 the salesperson has asked us to send an email to [[protected]@kbhome.com] and we sent the email to cancel our booking on the same day.

The Salesperson informed me that the Earnest money will be refunded in 4 weeks. When I checked with the same person on 11-May-2022 then he replied to me that it will refund in 6 weeks and that I need to be patient.

Will they extend the time to refund my Earnest money? Why are they keep extending the time from 4 to 6 weeks?

Desired outcome: We really need our Earnest money of $3,000 to be refunded as early as possible as it is already 5 weeks we are waiting for that money after cancellation.

KB Home Ramp issue and side of our house water is not draining

This is Elias and Melissa Sangare following up on an ongoing issue we've had at our property in the Ridge of Bandera neighborhood (address 11082 Hill Top Loop). Marcos and landscaping came by back on June 29th or 30th to evaluate the yard (between us and our neighbors home). It was stated bc of a small board we had blocking our gate was the issue the water wasn't draining. We removed the board and there hasn't been any change. We noticed (and have stated before) it gets worse when the neighbors water their side of the grass. I don't think we've ever seen the ground completely dry since we've moved in. Something has to be done. Also, no one has come out to re-evaluate the small ramp on the side walk infront of our house. It is now growing grass. It's an eyesore and something needs to be done about that as well. We've been constantly complaining about it since we've moved in. Can someone please take a lead on both these issues and fix them?

KB Home Earnest money refund

Gave $500 earnest deposit to KBhomes in San Antonio, Texas, in early July 2021. Unfortunately, they denied my loan, so I contacted my sales person on July 23, 2021, to request a refund. He stated that KB homes (not sure what department) would be mailing them out on August 2, 2021. Unfortunately, I still have not received the earnest money refund. My email is [protected]@gmail.com. My name is Kevin Alcorn.

Desired outcome: Full Refund

KB Home whirlpool cooking top

My name is Chung Lee, I purchased KB town houses(2 units) in San Marcos, CA in Nov. 2017 Few weeks ago, cooking top(serial no. R63235221 MOD: WFE320M0ES0) at one of units(355 Mission Terrace Ave) was not working. I called KB customer service, they gave me file no. [protected] and have me call Whirlpool directly and I did. Whirlpool technician came on 12/6/18 AND very very rude according to my tenant. Technician said that he can't find warranty paper and left. I thought the appliances are under 2 year warranty from purchase. I just called KB customer service few minutes ago, all I got is recording message. I need to have the problem solved asap. My tenant can't not cook for a month!

KB Homes will not give back a refund of our Earnest Money $2000.00. Treated us poorly because we went with an outside lender. My wife and I are both self employed making obtaining a loan approval difficult. We were able to do so and chose KB Homes to make our dream of ownership come to fruition. We placed the deposit and then proceeded with the process of...

KB Home No refund of Earnest Money

Three months ago my husband and I paid $1, 000.00 earnest money he got laid off a month after. We sent his termination of employment letter to the sales agent of that company and he promised we would get out cheque in the mail. This was the ending of May we had time to leave the country on July 8, 2009 and return on August 14, 2009 and still no cheque. I have been calling the company and no one is able to help me.

When we went and saw this house we had to give them the money right away to keep the house so why now is it taking so long for them to refund us our money.

Homeowners beware of these companies.

I am still trying get our money and my husband is still unemployed.

I've spent four years and over $12K fighting with KB over mold in my home. This is one of many problems I still have, such as a cracked driveway, damaged granite countertops, and a whole litany of other problems.
