Amazing selection,fair prices and magnificent customer service
Amazing selection,fair prices and magnificent customer service.Bought a new ceiling fan and Julie from ext.4570 helped me to order accessories separately so I could order just the fan with Sezzle financing. She gave great suggestions and product information she knew without reading! I also bought a great tall lamp with dimmer control and square light globes 13 years ago from Lamps Plus needing globe replacement to replace a broken one and she was able to order it( bought an extra for 2 total just in case and they were inexpensive)for us. Wonderful. One last thing, They offer Sezzle financing which offers great plans and eased my payment options, but Sezzle is cumbersome and not easy to get done technically speaking with little to no help from live assistance, but after several glitches and tries I succeeded and am a happy Lamps Plus customer for life.
Stunning Lamps, Easy Website, but Beware of Local Pick-Up and Bulb Recommendations

We recently purchased a couple of lamps from LampsPlus and we gotta say, we're pretty darn happy with them! The quality of the lamps is top-notch and they look absolutely stunning in our home. We were also pleasantly surprised when LampsPlus offered to send us the correct light bulbs without us even having to ask. Talk about great customer service!
However, we do have to mention that the packaging was a bit of a letdown. It was wrapped up in this weird Styrofoam material that literally fell apart in our hands. It was a mess! We tried to throw it out, but it just disintegrated into thousands of tiny pieces that ended up all over our yard. Not exactly the most environmentally-friendly packaging, especially when we're already dealing with a serious plastic problem in our oceans.
Overall, we're thrilled with our lamps and the service we received from LampsPlus. We just wish they would consider using more eco-friendly packaging materials in the future.

I recently purchased two bedside lamps from LampsPlus and unfortunately, one of them had a defective switch. I was disappointed to find that the quality of the switch was inferior and I don't expect the second lamp to last very long either.
To make matters worse, LampsPlus requires that you return the defective lamp before they will send a replacement. This is quite inconvenient, especially since we did not keep the box. I never would have thought that they were selling merchandise of such poor quality.
However, I did have a positive experience speaking with a gentleman named Mario. He was very nice and competent, and he sold us another lamp while explaining that we would receive a credit once the defective item was returned.
While I can live with the return process, I am dissatisfied with the lack of oversight in LampsPlus's purchasing group. I understand that they may be importing cheap products, but a simple twist of the lamp switch knob would have made it clear that this is not a safe item to introduce to the consumer market.

I was so excited to receive it, and even more thrilled when I saw that the tracking estimated it would arrive in about a week. But guess what? It arrived in just ONE DAY! I couldn't believe it!
However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realized that the lamp was not up to par. It was crooked and I had to put it together in steps. One of the steps required screwing a post into the stem of the lamp, but I could tell right away that the screw was crooked. This caused the beautiful glass shade to become crooked as well. I was so disappointed and knew I couldn't keep it.
Thankfully, the return process was super easy. The representative I spoke with was incredibly helpful and made the process a breeze. The only issue I had was that UPS, which is only two blocks away from me, wouldn't ship the item without their own box. I didn't want to drive to the nearest FedEx, so the representative scheduled a pickup for me. It was ironic that I actually knew the driver who came to pick it up, but everything worked out well in the end.
Overall, I was disappointed with the quality of the lamp, but I was impressed with how easy the return process was. The representative I spoke with was very helpful and made the whole process a lot less stressful. I would definitely consider ordering from LampsPlus again in the future, but I'll be more cautious about the quality of the product next time.

I mean, I get that shipping can be expensive, but that's just ridiculous. So, I decided to cancel my order and look elsewhere.
Now, don't get me wrong, I really like LampsPlus. Their selection is great and their customer service is top-notch. But when the cost of shipping is more than a round-trip ticket to pick it up in person, something's not right. I ended up finding the same product on Amazon for cheaper, and with free shipping to boot. I'm not saying that LampsPlus should offer free shipping, but it's definitely something to consider.
I know that LampsPlus doesn't have control over postal fees, but it's still a bummer. I really wanted to support them, but I just couldn't justify spending that much on shipping. It's a shame, really. I hope that they can figure something out, because I know that I'm not the only one who's had this issue.
All in all, I still think that LampsPlus is a great company. They have a lot to offer, and I would definitely consider ordering from them again in the future. But for now, I'll stick with Amazon. It's just too bad that the post office is killing their business.

My next purchase will either be a floor lamp that I've been looking at for my small dark closet area (the one I found will just fit in the 13" space I have available for it), and there is a beautiful full-size Tiffany Lamp that I have my eye on as well.
My first shipment arrived quickly and safely and was well packed. I am going to love my new items! Thank you, Lamps Plus! I will be adding a comment and photos to my last purchase soon. Terrible Customer Service Experience with Lamps Plus: Lost Ceiling Fan Refund Delayed for Months
I been a customer of Lamps Plus for a long time and I bought a lot of lights from them. I was always happy with my purchases until I had a problem with their customer service. I ordered a ceiling fan that was very expensive and Fedex lost it about three months ago. I contacted Fedex and they said it was their fault and I should contact Lamps Plus for a refund.
Lamps Plus didn't want to use the claim number that Fedex gave me and they wanted to do their own investigation. It took almost two months for them to come back to me and say they needed more time to process the claim and give me a refund. The customer service people were sometimes helpful, but sometimes they were really rude. I had to keep calling them to get them to move forward with the process of getting a replacement or a refund. They wouldn't do anything unless I called them.
When they were finally ready to give me a refund, they sent me an email saying they wouldn't do it. After three whole months, that was their solution? Fedex admitted it was their fault, but Lamps Plus wouldn't take my claim number. I could have just filed a claim with my bank and it would have been resolved much quicker.
I used to love Lamps Plus, but their customer service is terrible. I will be looking for other places to buy my lights and home decor from now on. It's a shame because I really liked their products, but their customer service is just too bad.

confirmation of purchase not honored
I purchased a chandelier from the open box email sent to me by Lamps Plus. After submitting order on line, I received a confirmation for order. The item was listed as sold when I later went back to print a picture of the light from my files. A day or do later I saw the chandelier listed again on the site. Thought to myself they must have found more of the item. 5 days after purchase, I received an email from company stating the item was already sold and I would be contacted by a salesman to offer other merchandise. A call to customer service offered me the same light in new condition for $100 off. Instead of the original open box chandelier I purchased for $89, I could now pay $200 for a new one. When asked for an address I could contact to register a complaint, I was told there was none other than customer service. When asked to speak to a supervisor, I was then offered the $100 discount by the same woman who supposedly spoke to supervisor herself. In my opinion it sounds like a "bate and switch" operation to me.
Trying Billing Credit Card Twice
I ordered a sculpture head from Lamps Plus in late November. They promised me it would be here by Christmas. I get an email saying it will be here in late February. They billed my credit card for $39.91. Today (January 18th, 2011) I receive a call saying that they need to bill my credit card again and it is not going through. My credit card does not have the full $39.91 in it today, that is why it is not going through. They already billed me for this back in November, I watched it come out of my account. They are trying to double bill me. This company is nothing but a scam from the way they lied about it being there by Christmas, to the way they say they never got their money. Don't do business with Lamps Plus unless you want to give them free money.

Lamps Plus only charges its customers when merchandise has shipped. At the time any customer places an order with us using a credit card however, we place an authorization on the customers’ account. The length of time this hold appears can differ from bank to bank. Also, if a customer is using a debit card as a credit card, their bank takes the funds out of their available balance and put it back in if no charge has been posted against it. We can assure you that this order in question has not been charged.
While we do our best to ensure timely delivery of all of our products, especially around the holidays, we occasionally are not able to fill some orders due to factors beyond our control. Buyer Beware. Lamps Plus, a Chatsworth, California based company, had a “lighting consultant” come to my home for an evaluation and “sketch” of Installing ambient lighting. I was not told by their “consultant” about the possibility of incurring major damages in my ceiling to find the safest-best Place to install the lights. Instead of 7 recessed holes, I ended up with a total of 14 holes in my ceiling. Their Vice President of Operations in Chatsworth had Regional Manager contact me and he expressed that there is no way to “xray” a ceiling. My contention is that Lamps Plus should Have “second best” knowledge of where to place lighting before destroying someone’s ceiling. This fiasco, not only caused me to pay $900.00 for “installation”, but an additional $750.00 with a separate painting contractor to repair the damages from Lamps Plus. Lamps Plus did not make me aware that ADDITIONAL DAMAGES would be incurred when this installation took place. For consumers: this company has a communication problem within store level to their installers. Store does not provide adequate information to A consumer that CONSIDERABLE damages may occur when cutting in to drywall. Lamps Plus needs to make the buyer beware of additional charges To shoddy work such as pictured here.

Ive also had very poor service from them- ordered a ceramic fountain -arrived december-of course I didnt unbox due to colorado temps until this summer. extremely poor packaging led to the bowl section rolling out and hitting the ground. Of course since it's 'after 60 days' they will not do anything- and just the bowl part cannot be replaced -so Im out $200. Never expected it to go like this...
VERY VERY BAD customer service. Do NOT buy from LampsPlus
If you were having recessed ceiling lighting installed, any electrician is going to have to make some holes in the drywall...what did you expect? Each light has to be wired and the wiring pulled through. I've done this job myself and it can be a mess.
