I am very suspicious of Leeds Mattress stores. They are popping up throughout California, I mean ALL over! This is more than a mattress store, I know this not only because of the poor service and flimsy mattresses they sell, but also because of the bourgeoning amount of locations which are popping up in remote areas of CA. I have been to Leeds only a handful of times and don't see how that many locations are sustainable, considering how poorly Leeds operates as a mattress store. There are never ANY customers, I mean no one!
The public should know that Leeds is more than a mattress store, but a front for some other activity, which has nothing to do with boxsprings and beds.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.

Despite the "conspiracy theory" tone, there were also good points brought up. Even 4-5 years ago I noticed the over abundance of Leeds locations in the SFV, and wondered why they needed to have so many, so close together. It doesn't seem to make good business sense to keep so many in the current economy.

Neil- Our situation with your Santa Monica store is very bad. The manger claims there is no authority above him and we are stuck with a bed we dont want. Frankly, I am shocked you would have someone better suited for the DMV managing your store.
It is clear to me that you are trying very hard to differentiate yourself thru service. Until I spoke with this person on the phone a few minutes ago I would have given you high marks for service. 11/16/10 we ordered a king temper-pedic. You even gave us a loaner bed. The tempur-pedic was delivered a few days ago. We hate it and it is hurting us. My wife is in tears. We are too old to put up with this kind of pain and want to exchange the bed for another that was similar to our old bed. The managers words were "no you cant return it you must put up with the pain for a while, I did for 2 months. Its our policy to not take back beds for 2 months." He further said that he is the final authority at your company so we were stuck.
First of all no one said we couldnt return the bed whenever we want. The salesman did have me sign a form agreeing to pay a restocking fee. I am fine with that. I want to exchange this bed now. Your manager has taken a client (me) who liked Leeds Mattress and has created very bad feelings. I hope you can step in quickly. If you cant you will have a public relations issue to deal with in Santa Monica.
I have spoken to michael keller on saturday afternoon, he has gotten a hold of me.The situation is that with in three days he was not feeling great with his new mattress, there is a break in period of at least 60 days so your body can get used of it.We then offer a 30 day comfort exchange.I waived all of those for him as a courtesy and he has the decision to wait out the adjutment or come in and select a new bed.Either way I thank Miachel for his business and Im sorry his wife is having a hard time getting ajusted to it.It happens to many clients and can be very frustrating.Selling mattreses is not easy and we pride ourselves on what we do.Most peoplle will spend a third of their life in their bed.We must advise to change your bed every so many years because the longer you sleep on your tired mattress the longer it takes to adjust to a new one.The posture in your back gets used of the way you sleep and cant adjust to the new comfort right away.It is a very important purchase and worth the adjustment.You will end up loving your mattress and wishing you changed out your bed sooner.The hard part is getting used to a new bed, some are luckier than others.They love it the first night.I am neil leeds and I am available at my office at [protected].If I am running around store to store.Please leave a message, I will return your call. with in 24 hrs. I did indeed speak with Neil Leeds. Neil is the most knowledgeable and passionate person I have ever spoken with on the subject of mattresses. He cares very much for his customers and his business which he started by himself with nothing and grew to a success. I am very impressed with Neil. I have no doubt in my mind that we will be completely satisfied with either our current mattress or a replacement. He suggested I give it some time and see if we get used to our mattress choice. I will speak with him this week regarding what we are going to do.
I think Neil is a honest businessman in a very competitive business. Since getting involved with this complaint I have researched Leeds Mattress and Neil and have heard story after story of his generous nature and giving back to the community. Leeds is the only place I would ever buy a mattress.
I don't understand the complaint about Leeds opening new stores? That is what a retailer is supposed to do!
I just spent $825 on a mattress at Leeds and I hate it - It is not returnable and I can't seem to get any help concerning making this right. Since I got the new mattress - I have not been able to get a good nights sleep, my back is sore and my neck is stiff from sleeping on the new mattress. Oh my goodness I feel horrible for spending close to a thousand dollars on a mattress and end up sleeping on the floor. Somebody out there please help me.

First--We are very happy with the mattress that we purchased on Feb.21, 2010---The Store was Canoga Park, California..As is our custom, we rotate the mattress every two months and have a mattress pad covering it..The Mattress is a SIMMONS BEAUTYREST WC (27121) along with the Box Springs(50093)..."Mike" was the salesperson and was truly very professional..Further we have purchased other mattresses at the same store..
PROBLEM;;;; We noticed that one corner sewing is UNRAVELING..We visited the Canoga Park Store and it seems that LEEDS does not have any responsibilty and that it is up to aTHIRD party inspector to determine the cause of the unraveling..We have the privilege og PAYING $ 50.00 for this inspection..Now, it is my contention tat since we want to KEEP the mattress, that a service person would come in and re-stitch the affected areas and check to make certain that this is a single aberation..

On Feb. 21, 2010, we purchased a Simmons California King Mattress. It is a WONDERFUL product and have had many good "sleeps" on it.. However, during our normal cleaning, we removed our mattress cover to wash it and noticed anUNRAVELING in one corner.. This has not affected the mattress, but we are concerned that it may be a harbinger of things to come..We have the TEN year warranty from Simmons..Visiting the Store at Canoga Park, California, we were told that it has to be inspected by a THIRD PARTY wh will determine what is to be done..For this we have the "privilege of PAYING $ 50.00..Now, again, we love the mattress and all we want is to have this "UNRAVELING' halted..The store employees are helpful and the area general manageris "nice", but no cigar..The sales order # is CP18630..We hope that this will be taken care of with NO expense to us ..The Invoice # is 106919...I will thank you in advance for a quick and satisfatory solution .. We paid for a king mattress set (Leeds Glendale, CA), never took delivery, and now Leeds is out of business. Any help would be appreciated.
My husband and I bought a icomfort mattress from the Huntington Beach store, and we have nothing but trouble with the mattress, the top mattress keep sliding off the bottom mattress. I have fallen out of the bed and thank God I did not break any thing I am a senior citizen and on a fixed income..I keep thing that my husband would think of a way to keep the top mattress from sliding off the bottom. I do not want this mattress but I cannot afford to buy another mattress. I just hope I do not fall off my bed

Go to your local hardware store (I.E. Lowes, Ace) and buy some rubber tape or grip tape. They commonly sell it for tool boxes. Put some on your Serta Boxspring and that should keep the mattress from sliding.
