On 8-19-2006 I received a collect call from my wife that she had locked herself out, her purse, and the keys are in the car, I accepted the call at that time nobody advised me of the cost of the call. On 10-1-06 I received at&t's bill which includes (legacy ld intl, inc) bill, they had charged me $36,76 for the minute that I talked to my wife. I called them (188-553-4218) and asked, what was this charge for, he told me that it was for the collect call that I received on8-19-06 from a payphone, I got upset and said, for one call, yes he said and that was their rate, I said (you guys are thieves and steeling from us with these kind of charges) then we hung up.
Please if you can help or give me some kind of resolution for this matter smb. Show all the consumers to know about this company.
Thank you very much,
Samuel.
They are still going strong... billed our Verizon bill for 6 seperate collect calls at $25.25 each plus taxes. These calls went to our answering machine and we never accepted the charges. 2 of these calls were 1 minute apart and each was billed for 5 minutes.
I called them as so many others have... RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, SARCASTIC, ... you have read the stories. I talked to "JEREMIAH". I finally had enough and hung up. Realize they are long time con men, liars and thieves. They are in business because most people probably don't fight them and just pay.
We are long time ALTEL/VERIZON customers. I called them and flat out told them they would not be rcving payment for any portion of the calls. I would in no way, shape, or form give in to Legacy. The customer rep was very polite and removed the calls from my bill and explained that we would most likely be getting a letter from Legacy. Jeremiah should take a lesson in customer service! A letter from Legacy is fine with me. I am disputing all calls with them. We are lucky, no refund from them is necessary...we have never paid them and absolutely will not. Let them blow smoke all they want...
Just got ripped off by Legacy Int. for $69.00 for two 5 min Calls. Oh boy! Who can we contact to complain? FCC? Their rep was a real rude A...hole! Let's put them out of business... welcome any feedback at leewmerrill@gmail.com.
I just got off the phone with my boyfriend who is in the local jail, they say we have 15 minutes to talk and it cost $1.50. They only gave us 5 minutes to talk and then ended our call. I'm in tears, and I want my money back. I'm afraid to see my bill :(
I too have been swindled. While camping, I made 6 calls to my daughter from a payphone. On the payphone it was stated that use of a credit card would be an additional 50 cent charge. Since the phone would not accept my change i decided to go ahead and use my credit card. Boy, was i surprised to see on my account, that each 3 to 4 minute phone call was totaling anywhere from twenty to thirty dollars. Im looking at nearly 170 dollars in charges! It said plain as day right on the phone 50 cents more for credit card calls. Isnt that some form of false advertisement? I could have had a 5 hour conversation with a rice farmer in china for that kind of money. why hasnt anything been done to these filthy criminals. Doesnt somebody know an investigative news reporter that can give this company a swift kick to the scrotum (figuratively of course). $170! Oh well, i guess we just wont eat this month! INFURIATED!
I got charged $107.05 for 4 calls that I placed to my boyfriend because I forgot my cellphone broke and I forgot my house keys and was trying to get into my apartment. The only reason I used the service is because it was late and no where was open to give me change. The first 2 calls, I put in my debit information and then it told me they were unable to process my call at this time. The 2nd calls went through and I was only on the phone for about 2 minutes. The first time telling him I was locked out and to come downstairs. The second time, was to tell him I got food so dont start cooking dinner. The next day I checked my balance cause my application for school didn't go through and on my statement it shows they charged me $17.44, 5 times and $12.43, 3 times. I didn't even place that many calls. I dont make money where I can afford $107 for a phone call. That money was needed, especially now that I have to buy a new phone cause the one I had broke. Now I only have $50.00 in my checking and have to dip into my savings. I've emailed the company about it because I cant call cause theyre closed at the moment. But this is really upsetting. I'm hoping the money will be credited back before I miss the deadline to pay for my new student deposit for school.
The P.U.C. of state of California has nailed them. I just got a letter from Legacy that all overcharges will be refunded. I got a postage paid envelope from them, and I have to state that I was overcharged, and will be refunded. Once their check will clear, then I`ll be a believer... Their contact info in this matter is:[protected] toll free Luis M. Garcia is their customer service Manager

We have 12 calls billed on our frontier bill, from Legacy. I have called them twice about the total. We were told by the partys' mother that was going to call us, that he had a prepaid calling card, and to accept the calls. So we waited for 1st call, and did accept the call. It went like this: Will you accept a call from soandso, from location soandso? We did 12 times. All incoming calls were worded this way. Not one of them said: Will you accept a collect call from soandso, etc. Had it been worded that way, we would have refused the calls. They keep bs-ing their way through their billing, and that the bills are collect and correct.
No, I don't think so. I have informed both Legacy and frontier, and now on this internet site: I won't pay these ludicrous charges. Collect calls are required to state that they are collect. These calls did not. Therefore this is robbery and theft by Legacy LD INTL Inc.
JFK International to a Chicago cell, less than 30 seconds - no answer, no message left. I was charged 31$. INSANE.
They did me wrong also. $22.95 for a one minute collect call from a local number. I spoke to a representative from Legacy to no avil. I informed my carrier and told them I would pay my normal bill but not this price gouging horrific charge from Legacy.
overly priced collect calls - my wife was probably 80 miles from home and used a pay phone for a collect - call - i think we talked about 3 to 5 minutes - my bill was $29.03. The company should give a cost estimate prior to committing to the call or length of call.
I received an emergency collect call from my son today. The call lasted less than 2 minutes. I told him to go check something and call me right back, which he did (collect). Again, the call was very brief. Just checked my credit card and already I have been charged for the calls, $25 each! That is $50 to talk to my son for less than 5 minutes. I stumbled across this website as I looked for the contact information for Legacy. It is very troubling to see that this company has been ripping off hard working people for at least 10 years. Can you image how much money that is? I am speechless!

I was contacted by my bank's fraud division about a charge of $23.00 to my debit card from this company. This was done about 4:00am. I had to call and put notice to bank that this transaction wasn't
Made by me. Now I have to cancel my card and wait for new one. Inconvenience! Plus theft of funds. I see from reviews of this bad company done before
It's been since the beginning of November and I've sent countless emails with the proof they've asked for and no one is responding to my refund request I was charged twice and have funds sitting on a phone number that is no longer in service they tell me the same thing every time I call and no one has called yet.
