Disappointing Experience with Legacybox: Poor Quality, Missing Recordings, and Unhelpful Customer Service
Wow, just take a gander at all of these new-fangled reviews! Can you believe it? I mean, I ain't the only one who's been through the wringer with this here Legacybox thingamajig. I just wish I had come across this here website earlier...
I ain't much of a reviewer, but I reckon I ought to share my two cents about my experiences with Legacybox. I done sent them my tapes, and I was real excited about having them digitized so I could relive some old memories. Now, I knew they was having some issues with the workforce, but I was patient and understanding. However, things didn't quite turn out as rosy as I had hoped.
Let me tell you, I'm just downright disappointed with how things turned out. I done gave them some feedback in hopes that they could make things right, and maybe give me a refund. But, nope, they just wanted to argue with me and keep my hard-earned $250-$300 (I could've sworn it was $250, but it's been so long I can't rightly remember!).
I wrote this feedback to Legacybox, 'cause as a business owner myself, I value my customers' feedback, and I hoped they would do the same. Take a gander for yourself...
First off, the time it took to digitize my tapes was longer than the original estimate they done give. Now, that weren't the worst of it though. The quality of the work just wasn't up to snuff. Let me give you a few examples:
1. The video was all wonky and off-center. It weren't cropped properly, so the viewable area was all askew.
2. Some of my tapes only had a little bit of recorded video, but they done sent back an hour-long file with the extra bit just bein' a blank blue screen. Seems like they could've just edited the video down to its proper length.
3. The video quality was subpar, and there were all sorts of digital glitches and bits missing. I sent them some high-quality digital tapes, and I shouldn't have seen that much of a degradation in quality.
4. They didn't do nothin' with the aspect ratio of the recordings. Some of my tapes had mixed ratios of 4:3 and 16:9, but everything was recorded at a 4:3 ratio. So, all of my 16:9 recordings ended up looking all squished and compressed.
5. The biggest issue of all was that some of my recordings just weren't included in the digitized files. Can you believe it? How could they just forget to include some of my memories?
Now, I was willing to overlook some of these shortcomings, but once I realized they didn't digitize everything I paid for, I knew I had to take things into my own hands. I found an adapter that lets me connect my camera to my computer, so I'm just gonna do it myself. And, because of that and the missing recordings, I asked kindly for a refund. I'm happy to talk more about it if need be, but I hope they take my feedback to heart and do better in the future.
Oh, and to top it all off, they got two more things that just boggle my mind:
1. They didn't digitize one piece of my media, but instead of refunding me, they just offered to digitize something else "free of charge." Now, hold your horses, if I done paid for something you couldn't do, that ain't free. And, they should just refund the money instead of offering to digitize something else. It just don't make no sense.
2. They sent me an absurd amount of spam emails. I mean, if they put half as much effort into their work as they do into their spam, they'd be much better off.
All in all, I just wanted to share my experience with Legacybox. Maybe they'll learn from their mistakes and do right by their customers in the future.
