A Mixed Bag of Experiences - Unveiling the True Picaboo
Dear reader, let me take you on a journey through the realm of Picaboo, where creativity meets reality. As I delve into the reviews, a mosaic of opinions emerges. Some hail the exceptional quality of materials, the vast customization options, and the prompt customer service. They find solace in the seamless lay-flat pages and the joy of creating memories. However, shadows lurk in the form of deteriorating glue, blackening photos, and occasional software glitches. The tale of Picaboo is one of contrasts, where the promise of personalized perfection dances with the risk of imperfections. So, if you seek a blend of creativity and caution, step into the world of Picaboo with eyes wide open, ready to embrace the beauty and the challenges it may bring.
I have been using Picaboo for months and can only say
I have been using Picaboo for months and can only say great things about them. Customer service top notch! I had expired groupons and they still helped me out and extended them and even after the extended time was over they honored what they promised. The quality of the books are great. I have recommended them to all friends and family. Just a wonderful company with great customer service. They truly stand by their word and are very prompt at taking care of your needs. I would give them a 10 out of 5 if that that was an option. :)
Okay
Okay- I meant to do this a while ago. But I forgot and I promised I would. Picaboo was great to me. I decided that I wanted to make a photo book in order to propose to my now fianc? last August and I put in the order too late. I called Picaboo and they promised they would do anything they could to make sure that the book arrived on time for my proposal date. The book was rushed and arrived early! My soon to be wife loves the book and has it prominently displayed. The binding is great, the photos came out very well and the website was very easy to use! I realize upon looking here that there are a lot of negative reviews. But that was not at all my experience. If anyone from Picaboo is reading this... Thank you! You really helped me make an excellent memory that can be passed down :)

I read a lot of reviews and worried a little when I
I read a lot of reviews and worried a little when I decided to use them to build my photobook - but I wanted access to all the "shared" materials for my Disney book. The tool to build the books is online now and I found it easy to use. You could select to hide pictures you've already used or it automatically put a checkmark on pictures you'd used. It let me know when my pictures were too low resolution and it was easy to upload a large number of photos.
The book shipped within days of ordering - NYE was during the wait period. The book was delivered within 3 days and was well packaged.
I have no complaints about the quality of the product. I had some pictures that were grainy and fuzzy - which was my fault for using a phone instead of a camera. I would order from them again - and the buy one get one free was a good deal.
Found this site while looking to see if anyone had
Found this site while looking to see if anyone had written a review of the canvas prints they offer, but was surprised to see all the negative reviews here on their photo books.
I have made 3 different photo books, one for my wedding, honeymoon, and my son's first year. For the last one I even splurged for a Madison book (their really expensive option).
We have been really happy with the quality of the books.
I enjoyed the software here over some of the other sites that I gave up on. It is frustrating how long it takes photos to upload, but once they are loaded there are a lot of options that I didn't find on other sites.
I did not require much help customer service wise until my most recent order. A single photo was in two places on the same page instead of what I had thought it should have been based upon my layout. The company replaced my book for free
So pleased with every product I have gotten
I have used Picaboo for every photo book I have made. I travelled extensively for a year, and created books for all of my trips. I did read the reviews about the images appearing dark in the final product, so I lightened the pictures before printing to avoid that problem. The lay flat books are expensive, but I love the one that I made. I love their unlimited pages deals, as I have created a couple of these for my more extensive trips. As for the shipping costs and product arrival dates that people have complained about, if you look on the website, the costs and dates of product arrival are clearly indicated, so even though it might stink to pay for those costs (which aren't unreasonable), you can order or not with full information. Picaboo is easy to use, the options for page layout are as simple or as complicated as you wish for them to be, and the uploading of images takes a reasonable length of time (never hours!). My feeling is that the angry, dissatisfied customers have been enraged enough to write reviews, but happy customers that will continue to order fabulous Picaboo products have just neglected to post their stories of satisfaction.
Excellent customer service
I also must be part of the minority that actually likes Picaboo, but I have never had a problem with them and actually had a great customer service experience with them. I've ordered books from them in the past and two Christmases ago, I created a scrapbook for my mom/aunt who visited me in Italy. The one for my aunt was going to be a Christmas gift. The book ordered maybe a week or so before Christmas and had a printing error of some sort-there were white blotches printed on some of the pages. All Picaboo asked for me to do was send a picture of what it looked like so they could forward it to the right department and they overnight shipped two more books (what I originally purchased) and didn't require me to send back the misprinted ones. So not only did I have the new book in time for Christmas, it was also completely hassle-free to me. As far as their prices- I think the books are amazing quality so you get what you pay for. Their website/vouchers also CLEARLY STATE that you cannot combine coupons so the people who are very pissed off should've taken the time to educate themselves first. I also like the ease of using the website- a ton of different layouts to choose from, great background options, stickers, etc. I travel/scrapbook a lot and I will 110% always use Picaboo!
Mixed Results with Picaboo Photobooks: Quality Issues but Good Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm a sucker for a good deal, and Picaboo's promotions always seem to get me. I've ended up buying a few vouchers for their photobooks, and while I've made three of them so far, I've had some quality issues with each one. It's not my fault, mind you - it's the printer's fault. I've had missing pages and pictures, and the quality of the book itself has been pretty shoddy.
The lay-flat book, which has these weird cardboard-like pages, feels like it's falling apart in your hands. The pages are all crooked and out of whack, and the pictures themselves are super dark and hard to see. Picaboo tried to blame it on my monitor, saying that I needed to adjust my pictures with filters to make up for the brightness and color differences, but that's just not true. I've used other sites and never had this issue. It's definitely their software and printing process that's the problem. Plus, when I added frames to the pictures, the whole page got even darker. Ugh.
But I will say this - their customer service has been pretty good about fixing the issues. They've reprinted the books or given me a refund without any fuss. So if you're willing to put in the extra time to redo your books a few times, and you trust that their customer service will come through, then go for it. The classic lay-flat book is actually pretty decent once they get it right.
Picaboo Review: Technical Issues and Poor Customer Service - Not Worth the Risk
This website, Picaboo, has a lot of technical issues that you should be aware of before using it. I bought a coupon on Living Social and uploaded my book. I want to make it clear that I am a graphic designer, author, and illustrator, and I have been published by major publishers. So, I know what I am doing.
I uploaded the book, reviewed it, and submitted it. However, when it arrived, only the cover and one page were printed, and there were only 15 pages in the book. I called them, and on my second call to follow up, the customer service representative admitted that there was a technical issue that only one page was printing with many of their customers. Then, five days later, after the call, they wrote me an email to say it was my fault. They claimed that I did not upload the images from my tray into the book. This is simply not true. The book had all the images when I flipped through the pages before I submitted it. Now, all of them have been stripped out.
They clearly had a bug, revamped their system, and destroyed people's work! What is so awful is that they retroactively took the images out of my book to avoid refunding me and countless others! The funniest thing, though, is the book they sent me had 15 pages. The book in my account has 22. So they forgot to remove my extra pages! Although this doesn't "prove" anything, it shows that something is clearly amiss.
I strongly advise you not to use Picaboo. It is not worth the risk of losing your work and money.
Nightmare Experience with Picaboo: Misleading Videos, Tedious Editing, and Ridiculous Shipping Costs
I gotta say, my experience with Picaboo was a total nightmare. I mean, I thought it was gonna be a breeze to create a calendar, but boy was I wrong.
First off, those videos on the site are so misleading. They make it seem like the site is gonna be a piece of cake to use. But let me tell you, it was a total disaster. I tried using different Internet connections, but everything took forever to load or happen. Clicking on backgrounds, inserting text, typing text, uploading photos, dragging photos onto the page, moving photos, resizing photos - all of it took minutes each time.
And don't even get me started on how tedious and difficult it is to resize and rearrange photos. If you add or delete a photo to the layout, the site reorganizes and resizes all the photos to fit a premade template. This means you have to redo the layout, resizing, and editing of each photo on the page. It's so inflexible and frustrating. Honestly, I could have made 20 calendars by hand faster than I could make one online.
Plus, the shipping costs are just ridiculous. I had to pay about $70 to order 20 calendars. That's just way too much.
And don't even bother trying to get help from customer service. There's no phone number available, and the chat shuts down all the time due to volume. Even when you do manage to get through, it takes forever to reach someone.
I really don't understand how this site is still up and running in multiple countries. Seriously, do yourself a favor and don't use Picaboo. There are so many better and cheaper options out there.
Terrible Customer Service Experience with Picaboo - Order Delayed and No Help from Support Team
I am so darn frustrated with Picaboo! I put in an order on November 26th for 5 mini books. These books hold my finance and my engagement photos that we wanted to give to our grandparents and god parents for Christmas. I got a notification that on December 4th these items shipped. Since December 4th... my order has been sitting as "pre-shipment." I tried calling 3 times (Spoke with a Sarah, Jesse and Andy). I also chatted online with a Harrison! No one can help me. They all keep telling me that they are waiting to hear back from the shipping team. Sarah allegedly emailed them yesterday. HOW INEFFICIENT - YOU DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE THEIR DIRECT NUMBER?!?!?!?! They have to wait to hear back via email. Not to mention over 24 hours at least (Because I still haven't received a response) to get a response... This literally makes your customer support team useless...
Not to mention what ticked me off the most, talking to Andy this morning around 9AM central time, after he not being able to help me, I ask to speak to a manger. He argued on the phone with me for a good 5 minutes and wouldn't let me speak to his manager... After he placed me on hold, he came back and still wouldn't transfer me... What kind of company is this, is this some sort of SCAM you people are trying to run!
I have received terrible customer service and I'm beyond ticked that your 'Customer service reps' treat my order like it isn't worth their time... It's like they don't even care about my order! I mean, come on, I spent my hard-earned money on this and I expect to receive it on time! I'm so disappointed in Picaboo and I don't think I'll ever use their services again.
Terrible Customer Service and Billing Issues with Picaboo Yearbooks
I had a really bad experience with Picaboo. Their customer service is definitely 0 star. The quality of the yearbook I received was acceptable, but much less than what I had hoped for. Our school PTA paid for the order as a group through the website, and I booked the yearbook with personal pages. However, the company charged me again by mistake. I called customer service and explained that since our school had already paid, they should not charge me again. They said they would email me back, but it took them until the second day to do so. They asked me to contact the school to refund me the money, but the PTA had already paid Picaboo.
Our PTA person called them several times and left a message, but never got a response. So I called Picaboo customer service again and waited on hold for 40 minutes for them to track the order. They found both of my orders and the school order, but said they had to speak to the school PTA for the order. I gave them our PTA person's phone number and didn't hear anything from them again. I called the company a third time, but the person I spoke to didn't help at all. They told me that no matter what, I could only get my money back from the school. But the school had already paid them, so how was I supposed to get my money back?
This is the worst company and customer service I have ever encountered. I would not recommend ordering from them. It's not worth your money or time.
Reliable and High-Quality Photo Printing: My Experience with Picaboo
I've been using Picaboo for a few years now to make calendars for my family during Christmas time. I've also made a photobook of my wedding and I've been happy with all of my purchases. I was a bit worried this past Christmas (2014) because I saw some negative reviews about the quality decreasing over the years. However, the calendars that I received were wonderful, just like always. I was very happy with the continued quality. In fact, my mother even commented on a couple of the images that were old slides we had converted. She said they looked better and brighter than they ever have printed anywhere else.
I ordered the calendars on the last day that they guaranteed Christmas delivery and was pleasantly surprised that they arrived with at least a week to spare. I can't really comment on customer service because I haven't had to deal with any unfortunate issues.
Something new I learned this year is that if you have a Groupon or other deal that expires, you can still use the purchase amount as credit. However, you can't combine it with any other discount offers that might be happening. You must use it for regular priced products. I'm not necessarily thrilled with that, but it's my own fault that I couldn't finish a project in the 6 months before expiry. There are enough special offers and sales out there that next time, I'll finish a project first and then wait for the deal to print it with. It seems to be an issue with the fact that you can only use one code per order. After you use your gift certificate code, you can't put in the code for the deal or sale pricing.
Overall, I'm very happy with Picaboo and will continue to use them for my photo printing needs. The quality is great and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality photo printing service.
Picaboo: The Best Photo Product Printer Out There
I've been using Picaboo for a long time now and I gotta say, it's the best photo product printer out there. I've tried other companies, but they just don't compare. I was shocked when I saw some of the negative reviews on this site, so I had to speak up and share my experience.
One thing that really sets Picaboo apart is the quality of their materials. I've seen examples from other companies and even professional scanning services, but nothing comes close to Picaboo. The paper, binding, cover, and stock for greeting cards are all top-notch. I've even made calendars with Picaboo and they're better than any I've seen.
Another thing I love about Picaboo is the customization options. Sure, they have pre-set options, but I like to create my own style. I can choose backgrounds, page layouts, content, effects, and text options. There are so many options that I can't even imagine using them all. I've made so many photo books with Picaboo and they all look unique.
The print quality is also amazing. I don't have to worry about my photos looking pixelated or blurry. They always come out crisp and clear.
I've only had to contact customer service twice in all the years I've used Picaboo, but both times I got courteous and knowledgeable advice. They really know their stuff.
The website design tool is also really easy to use. Picaboo is always improving it too, which is great.
While I mainly use Picaboo for photo books, cards, and calendars, I recently ordered a tote bag I designed as a gift and it turned out great. The variety of products they offer is impressive.
One thing that really surprised me is how fast I receive my orders. I always expect it to take longer, but it never does.
Overall, I don't have to worry about the production quality of my projects when I use Picaboo. I can just focus on creating something great and having fun.
Poor Quality and Customer Service: My Experience with Picaboo
I gotta tell ya, I'm not a fan of Picaboo. I've been using them for years, but lately, it's been a real headache. The software is clunky and always crashing, and it takes forever to upload photos. But, I liked that I could use a bunch of different backgrounds, so I stuck with them. But, let me tell you, the quality of their products and customer service has gone way downhill. I have a DSLR camera, and my photos look great when I print them at Shutterfly or even at Walgreens. But, when I print them in a Picaboo book, they come out too dark, too washed out, or pixelated. It's like they don't even care about quality anymore.
I've been making year-in-review books for my family for the past few years, and they're all 100 pages long. I spend months putting them together and printing multiple copies. But, the printing quality has been getting worse and worse. In 2012, they told me to take photos of the books and email them, and they promptly printed and mailed new ones. In 2013, they jerked me around for days, but eventually shipped the replacements (they did the "photo corrections" on their end). In 2014, they didn't reply to my emails for weeks, then asked that I take photos of books, then stopped replying to emails... Few weeks later they suggested that I buy all new books ($400 value), they will print them for me, and then they would reimburse me those $400 when the books arrive). What? Who does this? Who has $400 extra dollars just sitting in their account to let Picaboo use it for a few weeks? It's like they're trying to scam me or something.
I'm so done with Picaboo. I threw the books away and am never going back. It's not even worth it to me to jump through their hoops, return the books, and instead of getting the money back, have to pay another $400 for them to produce and ship more books that they will then reimburse me for. None of this makes sense. I hope they go out of business. They're not even worth the groupons, coupons, living social deals, or amazon deals they offer. They're doomed.
Picaboo Review: Layflat Paper Option Results in Fantastic Quality, Minor Issues with Image Visibility and Shipping, Overall Satisfied
I used Picaboo for the first time about 3 years ago and recently decided to start printing my photos again in book format, so I used them again. I didn't have the same results as most of these reviews. The quality of the book the first time around was exact to my screen. The second time around I decided to use the layflat paper. This options resulted in fantastic results. It was a book of sunsets for my mother. She was pleased as I also was over the color rendition. I printed a b/w photo book with images that range from contrasty or deep dark tones and yet the details within still held up.
I had two issues with the book - I could slightly see the image of the back side of the page. If I went layflat, this wouldn't have been an issue. However with the layout of the book it would have been unnecessary for the extra expense and other book companies have to same paper weight for paperstock. My second issue was the book came in bent. I called the customer service. My response was very different then what is posted here. They told me to take a photo of the book and send it to them for their records. They had no problem replacing it. In fact, minutes later after sending the images I wanted to check the status of another book I had in production and notice that the bent on was already reordered by them. They overnighted the book once it was printed.
The last book I made in color came in last week. The print quality was good. Things were the same as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary. Colors were very close to accurate. A slight drop in vividness but essentially the same as the computer.
After reading some of these reviews I can't help but wonder if some take into account that user errors isn't a fault of a company. I'm not trying to bash anyone because these are things I have and could easily do too. But having spend money I make sure to double check things. Like for example the yellow crop lines that say that they image 'may' be cropped is a rough estimate. So yes, the image past that point may show up. If you stop the image right at the line, you run the risk of the white of the paper showing up. Or leaving blank pages. I've done it but caught in when I looked through what I was getting printed. After all that effort why not take 5 more minutes? Again these are mistakes I've caught myself making too. These were my thoughts with some of what I was reading.
Anyways, overall I'm happy with what I'm receiving. I have 4 more books to print so hopefully all stays this way. I've never tried another company as I've had no need to this point. I'm excited to see how the rest of my books turn out.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Picaboo: A Review
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with Picaboo's customer service. They claim to guarantee satisfaction, but I was anything but satisfied. I ordered a child's book that I created and it looked great online, but when it arrived, the text was too dark to read. I've ordered from them before and had confidence they'd make it right, but they told me to re-order instead of exchanging it. I had to re-order and they'd re-bill me and then hopefully reimburse me. That's not a very professional way to handle a replacement, but I went ahead with it because I needed the book.
Picaboo told me it was my fault because my monitor display was too bright. Really? They told me to adjust my monitor to reflect the darkness in my book, but the part that was dark was their colored background and there's no way to adjust the brightness on it. So, I had to choose brighter and lighter colored backgrounds and darker text just to complete the project. But I also told them that they made an error by putting a picture on the edge of the page when it was clearly within the print boundaries online.
So, I had to re-order the book within 7 days, which was not ideal because these books take a while to create. I quickly corrected everything manually and went into the order stage. Since everything seemed to be set up the same as before when I ordered the first time, I just proceeded. They told me not to use any coupons, so I didn't.
I told customer service that I didn't think I should have to pay for shipping and taxes since Picaboo made an error, but they totally ignored that part of my email. Shipping and handling the second time was somehow more expensive, which was an extra $21 I had to pay that helped to negate my original discount through Amazon.
When I saw the shipping and tax costs, I emailed again and stated that this issue had not been addressed. The agent told me that I was "told to order the exact same size and cost as the first time". He said that even though I ordered wrong, he was crediting me for the full book cost. I looked more carefully at my order and sure enough, even though I had already ordered the book once, their system defaulted to the larger, more expensive 11x14 book.
I apologized and said it was the wrong size, but their system defaulted to the more expensive size and I was rushed. Why didn't he just tell me the book was the wrong size? That would have been customer service.
I emailed one last time and stated that if the book was already in production, I guess I lose. He replied, "The book is already in production. Sorry." That's not customer service and it's not the quality of product I received. I had been used to perfection in the past, but I won't be buying from Picaboo anymore.
When I originally told them I didn't want to pay shipping and tax, I said if they felt I must pay, then please ship the book media mail. It only costs about $3 or $4. That was when they ignored that part of my email until it was too late and the book was "in production". There's no reason to charge so much to ship. That part is a definite ripoff.
Goodbye Picaboo. I'll be shopping around now.

Picaboo Review: Sneaky Charges and Lack of Communication Ruined My Wedding Album
So, my hubby got me a sweet deal on Picaboo through Groupon. It was $30 for $100 worth of stuff. I decided to make my wedding album with it and had it shipped to me. When I got it, I was pretty bummed to see that there were 42 blank pages in there that I didn't even want. And guess what? They charged me for them anyway! I mean, come on, Picaboo, that's not cool. Other sites I've used in the past only charge you for the pages you actually use. It feels like they're just trying to make a quick buck off of people without them even realizing it. It would have been super helpful if they had given me a heads up like, "Hey, you've got some blank pages here, do you want to keep them or ditch them?" But nope, nothing. And to top it off, I didn't even get a shipping email. What kind of half-assed operation are they running over there? The album itself would have been great if it weren't for the sneaky charges and lack of communication. Now I'm stuck with a half-blank wedding album that I paid way too much for. Talk about feeling scammed.
Picaboo's Website Crashes and Customer Service Fails to Help with Large Print Order
I've used Picaboo before and it was all good, but when I tried to order a big print, everything went haywire. The website kept crashing and I couldn't get my order through. I called their customer service and they told me that my project was too big and that I should break it up. I did that, but it still didn't work. I called again after 45 minutes and they told me to connect to a landline, which was super inconvenient. We tested my internet speed and they said it was more than enough, but the website still wouldn't work. If I didn't have vouchers that I needed to use, I would've gone somewhere else.
I asked to talk to a manager, but they told me that managers don't talk to customers. Can you believe that? They're too busy to talk to customers, but they'll email me. This has been an ongoing problem. I've spent hours trying to adjust my prints, but none of my work will save and I can't even get into my cart. Customer service can't help me either. I asked for a refund on my vouchers, but they told me that it's past the 30-day refund period. What am I supposed to do now? I'm so disappointed! This is absolutely ridiculous!
Proceed with Caution: My Frustrating Experience with Picaboo's Software and Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with Picaboo. I got this coupon for $60 worth of products, which sounded like a great deal. I wanted to make a photo book, so I spent hours picking out the perfect pictures and arranging them just right. But then, disaster struck - the software crashed and I lost everything. All that work, gone forever. I was so frustrated and upset.
So, I reached out to Picaboo to see if I could get my money back. I've asked them seven times now, but they just ignore me. It's really not cool. I mean, I get that mistakes happen, but the way they're handling this is just unacceptable. I'm starting to wonder if I should take legal action.
Now, I will say that the photo book I did manage to make with Picaboo was really nice. The quality was great and it looked beautiful. But honestly, I don't know if it's worth the risk of losing all your hard work. And the fact that they won't even respond to my requests for a refund? That's just not good customer service.
If you're thinking about using Picaboo, I'd say proceed with caution. Maybe try a small project first and see how it goes. And definitely don't count on getting your money back if something goes wrong. It's a shame, because they do have some nice products, but the software is just too treacherous and the customer service is lacking.

Disappointing Experience with Picaboo: Groupon Deal and Technical Issues
I had a pretty bad experience with Picaboo. I bought a Groupon deal, but it turned out that the value in parentheses wasn't the actual value of the photo book, but rather the discounted amount. So, what I thought was a good deal really wasn't.
When I went online to make the book, I had a lot of problems. I tried to upload images multiple times, but it just wouldn't work. I reached out to the chat line for help, and they told me to use a different browser. I tried that, and it did help with the uploading time, but then when I went to save my project, it kept saying that it couldn't save because my internet was down. I knew that wasn't true because I wasn't having any problems with my internet. I tried for over an hour to keep trying to save, but it just wouldn't work.
I didn't want to waste any more time trying to re-create the book, especially since I had already put hours into making it. Plus, I had the Groupon deal that I needed to use. Eventually, I opened up another tab on my browser and found out that it actually saved. Ugh!
To make matters worse, I still had to pay $35.00. I was really disappointed and frustrated. I should have looked up reviews before using Picaboo, and I definitely won't be using them again. It wasn't worth my time or money.
Now, I just hope that the book actually turns out nice. I'm not holding my breath, though.
Picaboo's New Software Update: A Total Disaster
I've been using Picaboo for a long time, like seven years. I gotta say, sometimes it's been a real pain in the butt. Different browsers not working, you know how it is. But I stuck with them because I really like their stuff. They just did a big update, their second one, and let me tell you, it was a mess. I had crashes, lost updates, and it kept freezing up. Now they've got this new software to make projects, but it's like they didn't even test it. It's got all the same problems as the old one, and then some. I've talked to their tech support a bunch of times, and they act like they don't know what's going on. But how can that be true when I've been having problems for weeks? I wouldn't recommend using them right now. The new software is a total disaster, and the old one isn't any better. I've got some vouchers I'm gonna try to use with the old software, but it's gonna be a struggle. I might come back someday, but only if they fix their project software. I'm gonna make a test project to see if they've gotten their act together. It's too bad, because I used to love Picaboo.
Disappointing Experience with Picaboo: Poor Packaging and Unprofessional Trimming
I just got my order from Picaboo yesterday and I gotta say, I'm not too impressed. I ordered 156 prints and 3 8x10s, but I couldn't track my order even when I checked my order history. This isn't the first time this has happened to me with Picaboo.
When I finally got my order, I was relieved that my husband caught the mail carrier trying to shove the envelope in our mailbox. The envelope was thin and white, not like the sturdy cardboard envelopes I've gotten from other companies. There was only a flimsy piece of cardboard inside to protect the 3 8x10s from bending, but it was already slightly bent itself. The large photos weren't even covered or protected from the smaller photos in the wrinkled white envelope on top.
The worst part was that the smaller photos had been trimmed, but the uneven trimmings were left in the order and even mixed in with the other photos. That's just unprofessional. I could have done a better job packaging and presenting my own photos, and I'm not even a big photo processing company owner. I don't think I'll be using Picaboo again.
Picaboo's Product is Great, But Their Service Needs Improvement
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of Picaboo's product. I mean, once I finally get my order, that is. But the rest of the service? Not so much. Production and shipping are always taking longer than what the website says. And don't even get me started on the lack of communication. All I get is an email confirmation of my order and then nothing.
Let me give you an example. I placed an order on December 10th. The website said production would only take 3 days and it should have shipped out on the 14th. But when I checked the website on December 19th, it still said my order was in production. What gives?
I decided to call customer service to see what was up. The lady on the phone told me my order would be sent overnight that day and I should receive it on December 20th. But then she said she wasn't sure why it didn't ship on the 14th like it was supposed to. Uh, what?
Finally, I got an email saying my order had shipped but it wouldn't arrive until December 21st. That's a whole week after I placed my order! Where's the customer service in that?
And this isn't the first time this has happened. My last two orders were also delayed. I mean, if you're gonna promise a certain timeframe, at least try to stick to it.
Look, I get it's December and things get crazy. But communication is key. Don't make promises you can't keep. If you're gonna order from Picaboo, make sure you have plenty of time because the timeframe they give you is not even close to accurate.
Disappointing Experience with Picaboo: Poor Customer Service and Browser Issues Ruined My Photo Album
I just had a really frustrating experience with Picaboo. I spent two whole weeks working on a 28-page photo album for my niece's birthday present. I was really careful to preview the album multiple times to make sure everything was perfect before I ordered it. But when I got the album online just 24 hours after I placed the order, I was shocked to see that one of the pages had multiple copies of a ribbon that I hadn't even seen when I was editing the book. It was really frustrating because the ribbons covered up half of the page, and there was no way I would have ordered the book if I had seen that mistake.
I called Picaboo right away, within 36 hours of placing the order, and explained the problem. But instead of offering to fix the mistake, they told me that it was probably a problem with my Safari browser and that I would have to order the book again. They did offer me a 60% discount, but it was really frustrating that they didn't mention anything about browser issues on their website. It felt like they were just trying to get more money out of me.
I was really disappointed that they didn't seem to care about my experience at all. They said that it was my mistake and that I would have to order a new book if I wanted it to be right. But I had already spent so much time and effort on the first book, and I didn't want to go through all of that again. I thought that their 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee would mean something, but it turned out to be bogus. They could have offered me "Picabucks" to reorder the book, but instead they just wanted me to spend more money.
Overall, I would not recommend using Picaboo. It's really frustrating to spend so much time and effort on a project, only to have it ruined by a problem with their program. And it's even more frustrating when they don't seem to care about their customers at all. I'll update this review with a photo of the mistake once I receive the book, but I'm not holding my breath for a positive outcome.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Picaboo Canvas - Review
I bought a big ol' canvas for my boy from Picaboo for $85. I was pretty excited about it, but then I noticed that the dog's eyes were all white from the flash. So I asked them if I should pick a different picture, but they never got back to me. I tried calling them the next day, but they didn't call me back. So I sent them another email and finally someone got back to me. They said it was already in production and there was nothing they could do. Bummer, man.
But then they said they'd give me a discount if I wanted to reorder it. They'd give me 80% off! That's pretty cool, I guess. But I had to make sure the new order was the same size and stuff. And I couldn't use any other discounts or promotions. So I guess that's something.
It took them three whole weeks to get the picture to me, though. That's a long time, if you ask me. I mean, I know it was in production and all, but still.
I'm not gonna use Picaboo again, and I'm not gonna tell my friends to use them either. I know it wasn't their fault that the picture was messed up, but they could've at least gotten back to me sooner. If you want good customer service, go with Shutterfly. They're way better.
Disappointing Quality and Unhelpful Customer Service: My Experience with Picaboo
So, I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with Picaboo. I was excited to make a photobook of my recent vacation, and I spent a lot of time carefully selecting and arranging my photos. But when the book arrived, I was really disappointed. The pictures were way darker than they looked on my computer screen, and one of them was practically black.
I called up customer service to see if they could help me out, and they basically told me it was my fault. They said my computer monitor was too bright and that's why the photos looked different in print. But I checked on three different computers, and they all had the same problem! I even showed them a picture of the book, and they agreed that it was too dark, but they still insisted it was my fault.
They told me I could fix the problem by brightening the photos on my computer and resubmitting the book, but I'd have to pay for shipping and taxes all over again. I was pretty frustrated by this point, and I told them I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. And why should I have to change my photos when they looked fine to me?
I've used other photobook services before, like Shutterfly and My Publisher, and I've never had this problem. It seems like a lot of other people have had the same issue with Picaboo, too. And to make matters worse, the customer service was really unhelpful. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and they said they'd call me back within 72 hours. But I never heard from them.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Picaboo. The quality of the printing was really disappointing, and the customer service was pretty terrible. Save yourself the hassle and go with a different company.
It is so frustrating!
Who cares about their customer service, if their main thing - their system - works like a piece of crap.
Yesterday this buggy website lost all of my pictures, even though it told me it saved all of them. How can this be possible?
Some people say that their customer support is very nice and works fast. Well, I can tell you a different thing. Not because I am angry and biased. No, it's because they didn't help me at all.
Terrible.
Their site is broken!
I had a horrible experience with Picaboo. I wanted to make a book, so I went to picaboo, but I had only problems with them. At first I couldn't upload any images. I tried over and over again, but nothing happened. I contacted their support, and he said that I need to use another browser to upload my images. I tried different browser and it worked! I successfully uploaded my images, but when I tried to save my project nothing happened again. I spent some time and uploaded the images again, but their website kept saying it couldn't save because my Internet was to slow. I tried saving my project for over two hours, because I knew there were no problems with y Internet. Next day I decide to try one more time, and I then I realized that my project was actually saved! I was so angry! Their site is broken! I just hope the book actually turns out nice.
So disappointed!
I have used Picaboo in the past and it remember it as a great and reliable service. So I decided to use it again for my huge print order. But every time I tried to place the order their website kept crashing. I contacted their customer service and they said my order was too big. They told they'll fix the problem soon and then I could try again. Well, they fixed it (as they said), but still nothing. It crashed again. Called them again 45 and requested to talk to a manager. But they told that their manager don't talk to customers. They told that their manager is very busy and does not have time for things like my problem. They promised that he will email me later. When? I've spent days working on my project and they can't print it out for me. What's wrong with this company? Well, as I expected, the manager never contacted me. So disappointed about their service.
Refused to change the photo book
I ordered photo book from the website www.picaboo.com, but it was big mistake. They printed and provided completely different book, and when I refused to take it, the agent started to threaten me and was rude and impolite. He told me that it was only my fault, and they wouldn’t return money back. These people are scammers and liars, who take money and provide nothing. Please post your comments about this company.
Customer service is severely inadequate
In every step of creating a calendar, I had a horrendous experience with Picaboo.
The videos on the site are very misleading. The site appears to be easy to use. However, the site was despicable. Everything took a very long time to load or happen, despite trying several Internet connections. Clicking the backgrounds, inserting text, typing text, uploading photos, dragging photos onto the page, moving photos, resizing photos, etc took minutes each.
It is very tedious and difficult to resize and rearrange photos. Also, if you add or delete a photo to the layout, the site reorganizes and resizes all the photos to fit a premade template. This forces you to redo the layout, resizing, and editing of each photo on the page. The lack of flexibility and undoing of work is extremely frustrating. I could have handmade 20 calendars faster than one calendar online.
Also, the shipping costs are exorbitant. It was about $70 to order 20 calendars.
Customer service is severely inadequate. There is not a telephone number available. The customer service chat shut down due to volume (likely because of all the site inadequacies). Even when it is operational, it took 30-45 minutes to reach someone.
The fact that this site is still operational, let alone in multiple countries, severely baffles me. DO NOT USE THIS SITE! There are a lot of better and less expensive options.
