Outdoor cantilever umbrella
I went to Living Spaces in Huntington Beach. I was looking for a cantilever umbrella which I found on the show room floor. I thought it was reasonably priced and functioned well. I ordered one as a result but later discovered that they had none in stock. So I waited a week for one and picked it up in the back of their store. I took it home and put it...

I'm personally in sales, and one thing I value about companies is their care and attention to detail when it comes to clients feeling comfortable or that a concern is being worked on.
Almost 2 months ago, I called to cancel part of the application. The rep stated (and this is where they first dropped the call) that the credit should appear in 3 days. 10 days passed, and as any consumer right now, I got worried. Chase stated that they weren't seeing any credit, and Living Spaces kept telling me they submitted the credit. I decided to submit a dispute to get the credit.
Little did I know that filing the dispute would now put the rest of the furniture I was expecting to have delivered to my new home on hold. It's been on hold for over a month. I dropped the dispute with Chase about a month ago, and called again today to see if it was communicated. THe disconnect seems to be between the bank Living Spaces uses and living spaces, which doesn't surprise me with how [censored]ty the whole system is. 50 mins + hold times to get in touch with someone on the line, and days to respond to an online chat.
In between every single interaction I have had, has not been remotely close to solution focused. I get the run around when I ask for the manager's phone number. When anyone from their department calls, it comes from an unknown phone number, with no number to call back other than the stupid number on the website, only to be on hold again for another 50/60 mins with nothing getting resolved. All I want to do it for someone to simply call their bank to get this resolved.
I haven't been able to move into my new home since the furniture hasn't been delivered. I need Living Spaces to take full responsibility in getting this resolved. It all started with lack of proper expectations from the beginning. Had the first rep stated that the credit would happen within 10-15 days, this would have never happened.
I will NEVER work with Living Spaces again. This is the absolute worst experience I have had. This company has had my entire move to Texas on hold for almost a month. I'm a Director in Sales and work 12-14 hours a day, while having a family to provide to be dealing with this kind of stuff.
Alton cherry king bed - damaged rails
I placed my order on August 28, 2020. My bedroom furniture was delivered on September 2nd. However, when I was making my bed I realized that both sides of my rails had cracked wood. I purchased this brand new and I paid for their service for it to be assembled. I can't believe they did not tell me of the dings and cracks they made while putting it together. I filed a complaint within the first few days of receiving it. The people I talked to from customer service said I would receive a call within 3-5 business days and it's been almost two weeks. I've tried calling them again to speak with someone and the wait time is absurd. This is my second time trying to call someone and so far I've been on the phone for an hour and a half and still waiting when they said the initial wait time was 49 minutes. I am so frustrated. I spent a lot of money on this and all I'm asking is for them to replace both rails. I've wasted so much time trying to get a hold of someone. What kind of customer service is this? The warranty they promise is misleading. At this point, I demand a repair and credit or a refund of the bed.
nolan leather dark grey sleeper couch and warranty service
Purchased a $1495 couch (Nolan Leather Dark Grey Sleeper) along with a $559.50 5-year "Care Free" Plan (oh the irony).
Specifically got the warranty per the sales associates recommendation because the sleeper has moving parts and those are the ones that tend to fail. Sure enough in less than 2 years of occasional use the sleeper developed two issues:
1) When the couch is extended into a bed, the upper part of it is sunken in, causing the body to be at a downward angle, with head lower than feet.
2) The entire frame creaks loudly at the slightest motion.
I bought a new $120 replacement mattress since those aren't covered under warranty, but that didn't resolve the sinking issue so I filed a warranty claim.
Someone came out and said that the frame will need to be replaced. Later the claim got denied stating loss of resiliency due to normal wear and tear.
I reached out to Living Spaces directly through their website, but they just repeated what their warranty service said saying wear and tear isn't covered.
Notably, the Living Spaces own website claims that on average a quality fabric sofa can last 7 to 15 years, quality leather sofas can last even 3 times as long as that, so loss of resiliency due to wear and tear after less than 2 years, is far too premature, to say nothing of their refusal to honor their 5 year "Care Free" warranty plan.
$4000 worth of furniture
I purchased a new living room set and bedroom set in September. We scheduled a delivery date in October to ensure everything will be delivered. Day of delivery which was 3 weeks out we only get half of the purchase.
No one informs me about when I will get my delivery. I have called 4 times to voice my displeasure and still nothing. They told me today oh we have it in now you want to schedule a delivery? So if I didn't call today to complain who knows when I would have received it.
It is also appalling that there is no manager to deal with these issues. So unprofessional.
furniture delivery
My daughter ordered a couch set on June 29, 2019 we were told that because it was a custom order and had to come from CA it would take a month so when we called last Friday they said that it had been delivered to the store and was on the truck, we are at a week later and when we called today we were given the same information. We have been very patience...

I purchased a living room set from living spaces and the experience was a nightmare, first they gave me a an early delivery time that i asked for but when the sent out the text the next day the time was changed and when i tried to call no one answered the phone, they game me a late delivery time and i was the last stop so my whole day was spent waiting on them and when the finally came they had the wrong pieces and one of them was damaged, the driver called the warehouse and offered to go and get the right piece and bring it back and they said no that they would have to schedule it for monday. so now i have to get someone to sit at my home for mondays delivery i will never buy anything from this company again, customer service is [censored], shop there at your own risk because i never will again and im going to advise evryone i know to do the same.
leather recliner sofa and loveseat
BEWARE of the cheating they do at the Fremont store. We picked up a leather recliner sofa and loveseat for 5k, first time the sofa got delivered it's lights weren't working, and the loveseat's lumbar support wasn't working. Second time they sent us a piece that had torn leather from many places. The third time we wanted replacement because damaged goods being delivered to us repeatedly we were told the item is not in stock. We went back to the store, picked another set at a higher cost. The third delivery was shamelessly faulty because the arm of the recliner didn't match the color of the rest of the sofa. We cancelled the order and asked for a refund. The store manager Suzy called us next day and said I understand we'll go ahead and cancel your order. It's been 4 days since, when I called up the customer care to check on my refund I am being told they're charging us a 160 dollar restocking fees because we ‘refused a good order'! Now they're asking us for proof! Despite all the calls we made to the customer service for help we're being treated rudely. NEVER buy anything from them again. Happy to join a class action lawsuit against them.
horrible furniture experience - bedroom set
I purchased a full bedroom set (bed, dresser + mirror, nightstand, and chest) in April and my only delivery option was May. I scheduled a delivery option with their third party vendor, Ryder, to have my pieces delivered and assembled on May 25th. The morning of that date, I get a call from Ryder Customer Center to inform me that my delivery was missing pieces. I asked what pieces, they simply stated pieces to set up my furniture. So, I can either have it returned to the warehouse or delivered now to come back later to assemble. I chose the latter. Later that day, I called Living Spaces to inform them of the issue which caused me to push the delivery back of my mattress. Now, I was under the impression as Ryder was a company they hired, they had all details to my delivery mishap. I had to re-explain my ordeal to several reps. And the same, repetitive question was being asked of me, "what pieces" as if I did not pay a sizable charge to have experts determine this of my items purchased.
I asked if Living Spaces and Ryder performed due diligence to ensure all items and pieces were there before shipment and delivery. Supposedly Living Spaces does and Ryder should as well. And I was informed that at bare minimum the vendor should have assembled the bed as all the necessary pieces would be in the packaged boxes. I was informed that the pieces (i.e. hardware) would be UPS'd to me and I would be provided a tracking number. They also informed me that they contacted Ryder to schedule a date and time for assembly. Ryder representatives came June 1 to uncover that they can't set up my bed because it has no hardware (i.e. screws). Surprise, surprise. The only action they were able to perform was putting legs on some of the pieces, that's it! Mirror still not attached and bed pieces lying on the floor. I paid close to $3, 000 on a bedroom set and still, still...the job is not complete, I am missing pieces, and I can't sleep on my bed. My mattress is on the floor. Choose Living Spaces at your own accord, but this whole entire experience has left me pissed off and irritated, and the furniture has become a symbol and reminder of that.
poor customer service
Purchased a couch and paid for next-day delivery. We received a call next morning informing us they were overbooked and wat to schedule for the following morning and would refund me the delivery fee. Come the following day as we prepared and waited for our couch to arrive we get another call wanting to schedule again. Needless to say this is unacceptable.

Delivery drivers caused major damage to 8 foot wood door when trying to bring furniture in. Also wood floor damage where they slid the coffee table op the stairs. Also lags to furniture missing along with pillows the drivers stole. Would like damages addressed and fixed and pillows replaced. Also parts to furniture fixed or replaced. Have made several calls and get a different answer from someone every time
rude and obnoxious service
Friday, 10/19/2018, 11 a.m. my wife and I along with our granddaughter ( second daughters child) met our daughter and her husband at the Huntington Beach store as they were shopping for a new coach. Our granddaughter is 15 months old and toddles about, needless to say it was a challenge to keep her safe and free of damaging the nick-naks.
The sales associate informed me there was a play area for kids within the store, so I took my granddaughter hoping this would be a safe area for her to walk and not damage anything. The play area was not staffed, there were no children in the room, it took six minutes to have a clerk show up. I was then informed that I would have to leave my granddaughter unaccompanied in the room with the store clerk, that I could not go in the room. I explained that was not really age appropriate and asked to speak with a manager.
I man came out, did not introduce himself, made no other explanation than that was store policy. I could leave her in the care of a clerk, I told him that was not age appropriate and having spent 33 years in the classroom teaching I would not trust my granddaughter to the vetting and background checks of your company. I pointed out there were no other children in the room. Again no apology basically nothing but an attitude that said [censored] off old man.
At that point I simply said, well I guess that makes the room pretty worthless, at that point he steps up on me and challenges "why does that make it worthless". I was holding my granddaughter at the time, when he closed distance as if to threaten me physically. At that point I took my granddaughter and left the store.
I no I will never enter one of your stores again. And will advise anyone considering a furniture purchase to check out the large number of complaints against Living Spaces.
sofa
I purchased a sofa from Living Spaces. I visited a few times to the store to find a sofa, and spoke various store representatives about different options, including the dimensions of the couch and my concern of fitting into my apartment. The rep said that as long as they are standard doorways, the product should fit through and be delivered, as we were discussing the extended seat couch. She was very thorough in her explanations, so it made me have a false sense of security that delivery wouldn't be a problem to order a couch as long as the dimensions fit through the door. I purchased a 101" x 44" couch and on deliver day, they weren't able to fit it into my apartment specifically from the hallway into the apartment.
I don't think I would have so much of an issue, but the delivery man was so unprofessional that it made me question his ability to do the job at hand versus letting emotions dictate his ability.
On delivery day, the delivery man Jose Martinez stated that, "it would not fit through the doorway" into the actual apartment. As he was delivering the cushions, every time he came in, he said, "it's not going to fit/this is a difficult deliver." At the doorway, he stopped with the couch and said, "see, it won't fit." I asked him to try rotating the item sideways, upon which it did fit into the door, down the hallway. He proceeded to complain and curse that it would not fit from the hallway into my apartment. He made an attempt, but this time declined to take my instruction on rotating the item vertically upright and into the apartment, as he was trying to do it horizontally, which would have no chance of fitting. He then had me physically try to rotate the couch into the apartment, by myself with no assistance, which I was not strong enough, and then stated, "you see, it doesn't fit." He refused to at least try multiple times on my insistence that if he rotated it in, I think it may have fit. He was very aggressive and unprofessional during the entire experience. The best way to describe, he was having a tantrum because of the furniture not being an easy delivery, and taking it out on the customer. He knocked my address number off the wall when he was leaning against it, and told me to glue it back. I refused to sign the "property damage" part on the contract, and he aggressively got upset at me and said that wasn't damage, and that I signed a waiver in the beginning. However, he wasn't even lifting the couch at that moment, rather he was leaning against the wall.
loric smoke sectional + their warranty "support" team
Their furniture didn't even make it a year without breaking and becoming lumpy and misshapen. I was still under warranty but actually taking advantage of the warrantee is a challenge. Their warranty support team love to tell you no, and refuse to be reasonable. I spoke with a manager that failed to follow through with sending a tech out. 2 weeks later I am back on hold and trying to reach someone. I was told that they had the wrong phone number which is a lie since I can see my information when I log in online. Don't waste your money on their crappy, cheap furniture and take no comfort at their warranty since you will need it and they wont make it easy.
sofa
Never again will I buy a piece of furniture from living spaces. I was happy with IKEA but had decided to get a new couch from a "real" furniture store, MISTAKE!
It's been a while but everyday, sitting on it, looking at it, I'm reminded what a bad purchase we made and how I will never step into a living space store again, one time was enough. They know how to copy modern, new style sofas but mine was stuffed with feathers, very uncomfortable. Almost paid off, can't wait to throw it out!
poor customer service and furniture
In April of last year I purchased a custom couch that I was told would take approx. 4 weeks, almost 12 weeks later my couch arrived. It didn't look like the material I had viewed and ordered in the store, but they reassured me it was the same. After 5 days the couch that is rarely used since I work so much started to look raggedy to say the least. I called the store & was that nothing could be done. I hate having company over since the couch looks awful! I went into the store recently and the people at the CS desk were completely disconnected. I said I wanted to purchase a new couch at full price but would like for them to remove the 15 month old couch. The young man shrugged his shoulders and said "we don't do that", it was an all around disappointing experience. I was told to speak to Buff Cardona.
bedframe
Defective, poor quality furniture. Bedframe completely fell apart within 6 months and living spaces will not take responsibility. Paid for the installation- so this should have been completely on them- for no further additional charge. Not sure how they get away with this kind of service and poor quality control . Should have read all the other awful reviews before purchase.
customer service
We just got a new living spaces in Texas and I was so excited. I went in and purchased a new mattress, base, and bed. It was free delivery due to the amount of money I spent. Anyhow the bed is hard as a rock. We have attempted to sleep on it but wake up in so much pain. We went back into the store 6 days later to verify tags. According to that it is correct. I explained how hard and uncomfortable out bed was. A few days later we go back complaining nothing has improved. Their response was "Just walk on it the next 3 weeks". No I am not when I cannot sleep in it. So they acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me exchange it one time. I had to wait and get special approval just to be able to do there store return policy. They did absolutely noting special for me but give me head ache. Then when processing the exchange I was told a Sunday morning delivery, after paying this then changed to an afternoon without my permission. Next they charged me $200 "restocking fee" and another $130 delivery fee. I explained I lied right down the road and could return products and pick up myself to save money even though it was suppose to be free delivery for the amount spent. I was told I could not bring back any merchandise to the store where the dc is. I was told I had no other options but to pay the $330. I am now stuck because I have already purchased 2 night stands, a dress or and a mirror for this set. I am so unhappy here and disappointed in the way we have been treated. Oh yea, one last thing, they took my slats on install since I had my stuff delivered. So I don't even get the product that I paid for. The store said I could get a lesser replacement because they will not open a set of rails and slats to give me what they took that I paid for. I had big plans of spending good money changing out my house items but not from living spaces anymore. I do not suggest anyone shopping there after what we have been through. Poor customer service, poor communication, mis leading, and then they think there doing you a huge favor when all they are doing is following policy. If this was the case then why did they give me so much trouble and needing special approval to exchange.
