Living Spaces Furniture furniture sales

I had the worst experience in living spaces the past weekend. I found a couch I really liked and was also looking to buy a bed and box spring. The woman who helped me was so out of it. I was in LA just finished telling her I was moving to San Diego on Tuesday yet she attempted to make my delivery same day. I just stared at her. I'm sitting in front of you, just gave you my SD address, and told you I wasn't moving until Tuesday. What in that makes you think I'm going to be there same day. Also didn't schedule the right couch - I had to confirm with her for the LAF verses RAF- she was clueless. When I asked about financing options they didn't give me my options instead opened a credit card without my authorization. I completed a financing application to determine what I was approved for not an authorization for a credit card. You would think if there is only one option they would be pretty trained on explaining that to customers it's not like they have to know a whole bunch. Overall terrible experience. When I approached the managers both of them shrugged and walked away. I work in customer service and if a client says they are taking their business somewhere else, I don't shrug I do everything I can to make the experience better for them. When I was talking to the manager the sales person I was complaining about came up and started laughing at me VERY unprofessional. They lost all my business...thousands of dollars and likely more to follow. You would think in a world of online shopping they would want as many customers in the store as possible.

Living Spaces Furniture 22357 mcculla sofa with reversible chaise

First I want to say that I had a great experience buying my sofa, great sales staff! I found the sofa I wanted after searching for over eight weeks. I was delivered the sofa on 5/29/2018 but the movers literally spent two minutes trying to fit the sofa in my house, one came into my home and looked over my balcony, his recommendation was that he leave the sofa in the courtyard and I could hire someone to hoist it up, I told him I could not do that, he then said someone would be calling me in a short time to discuss what would happen regarding the sofa. Needless to say, I was never contacted by anyone from Living Spaces. I had to call this morning and the girl was unable to tell me how much money I was being refunded. I then asked to speak to a manager, BJ then came on the line and I explained the situation to him and he told me that my return was $400 and something...I don't remember the exact amount and I asked him why I was not being refunded the amount I paid for the sofa and he said it is a restocking fee and delivery fee, I then asked him if he could forgo the restocking fee and he said no, I told him I thought that was unfair being I had to be the one to reach out to Living Spaces regarding my refund, why did no one contact me? I paid the money when it was due and I just feel like I was not respected as a client by Living Spaces contacting me to discuss any of the above issues. I still have not received a call from Living Spaces and would just like the restocking fee reimbursed to me. I saved for a long time for this couch, I am a single mother and money is hard to come by. Please give me back the restocking fee for the suffering I have felt going through this proceess. Thank you for your time and attention

Living Spaces Furniture sectional purchase

I purchased a sectional in November 2017 and recently wanted to complete the set by purchasing a couch to match (April 2018).

My dad brought paperwork into the store so they can purchase the couch in the same design line as the Nov 2017 purchase.

Weeks after the purchase was made, we picked up the couch from the store location in Huntington Beach, CA. Brought it home and set it up.

Backstory on the November 2017 purchase. The salesman who helped us (Nader?) showed us a sectional similar to the one we were interested in, but for an additional cost we could get a couch that went in deeper (essentially a bigger couch). We loved it so agreed that that's what we wanted.

He rang us up and we trusted that he sold us what we discussed. We were wrong, but didn't know it until 6 months later.

The new couch does not match the sectional purchased in Nov 2017. The new couch is the deeper design we thought we had in the sectional. But in comparison- the differences are very obvious.

I contact Living Spaces immediately. Long story short- I spoke to at least 5 different people who had no answers what so ever. The store wouldn't pick their own Customer Service calls, and wouldn't return the requested phone call to me.

Mistakes that were made:
1. Nov 2017 purchase was wrong and they are not taking any responsibility for it. They said we should have known. Wow! We trusted you to give us what we thought we were purchasing.

2. April 2018 purchase is a couch that is aesthetically different in many ways. The receipt even shows that it's from a different decor line. And remember, my dad brought in the receipt of the previous purchase so they can look it up online to compare and ensure the couch was from the same line.

3. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service on all ends. Starting from the CS team at the 1-800 line, down to the terrible customer service at the Huntington Beach location.

Living Spaces needs to accept responsibility for all the mistakes they made. They can't even return phone calls? That's basic customer service- it's not rocket science!

Living Spaces Furniture visit to living spaces

I'd like to share my disappointing visit to one of your stores. My partner and I visited the Livings Spaces in Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, 3/10/2018. We were in the market for a coffee table and 2 end tables. We fell in love with the Shelter brand coffee table and end tables. We had found one Shelter end table in the clearance section for $77. We just needed the other end table and coffee table. The end table cost $175 and the coffee table cost $250. The same coffee was on sale at Mathis brothers for $201.95. We were told by a sales associate that the store would match a competitor's price and beat it by 10%. The associated informed us that all we needed to do is to show an associate a picture of the item and price. When we were ready to buy, we approached the nearest sales associate, Nick Chadler and explained the situation. We showed him the picture of the coffee table with the price displayed and the listing on the Mathis Brother's website. Nick explained that his supervisor would need to approve the price adjustment. It took about 20 to 30 minutes for the sales associated to inform us that the supervisor had denied the price adjustment. The supervisor only authorized a discount. The discounted rate was not enough to discourage me from going to Mathis Brothers, since, Mathis Brothers is only a few minutes away. In addition, I had verified that both coffee table and end table were available at Mathis Brothers that day and that wasn't the case at your location. I would have had to wait at least a day to pick them up at your store. I explained that to the associate to see if her would meet the Mathis Brother's price without the additional 10%, but I was unsuccessful. We ended up purchasing the one end table we found in the clearance section and we headed up to Mathis brothers. At Mathis Brothers the end table costs more than at your store. The end table cost $192.95 and at your store it cost $175. Mathis Brothers was more than happy to match your price. My issue with the store is that the manager should have at least matched the price of Mathis Brothers.
For reference, the manager who assisted us was a Caucasian male who was in his 50's. He was bald and had a mustache. He seemed to be fit.

I have photos of both table and prices; however, I cannot seem to attach them.

Living Spaces Furniture lease program

I did the lease program. When I signed the paperwork with the gentleman in the credit department, I asked him if the total amount which was $1495 and some change was ALL I had to pay if I paid within 30 days to the lease company he said yes. I ONLY went with the lease option because I wanted the furniture NOW and was going to pay it off with my income tax money, which I did. They charged me about $100 more than the $1495 the guy in your credit department told me that was all I had to pay. This is not the Leasing company's fault. I think the guy in your credit department should have more accurate information! I would have waited and bought furniture if I would have known I had to pay $100 more! I am now looking for a sectional sofa but will take my business elsewhere. My lease account # was [protected], which I already paid off!

Living Spaces Furniture master bedroom headboard/footboard/frame

When I purchased the bed I was given delivery time option — I requested Fri Feb 2 from 6 pm - midnight as this was probably our only time to recv bed. She wrote down 12-6 pm but said if need to change for sure I should call 48 HRs in advance. I called yesterday (72 HRs in advance). They said I could only find out day of delivery. I said I wasn't told that/that the bed has to be there on Fri Feb 2 btwn 6-midnight as guests show up next day — in town for medical reasons. We cannot be there before 6 pm to recv bed. They finally confirmed that they could change to new confirmed time after I asked to speak w manager then district mgr. It was confirmed. Then I started getting auto texts asking "what day for my 12 noon- 6 pm delivery?" I called back again and was told "ignore auto robo calling; it's confirmed". Today I recvd call asking what time and day I would like my bed delivered? The customer service person I spoke w had some unbelievable answers when I explained what was confirmed "I don't know, I wasn't there". I asked where bed frame was and she said distribution center. I asked where that was in case it was same store I purchased from and she said she didn't know address. I said, "customer service at Corp office and you don't know the distribution address" and she said, "I don't memorize the addresses". Just unbelievable. I asked to speak w her mgr and where the Corp HQ Office was I wd be calling. She told me "I can't tell you that". I said, "is it a secret?" — this is not good customer service . I will never purchase from Living Spaces again.

Living Spaces Furniture sectional couch was delivered to us damaged

In Movember we noticed a huge hole on the dust cover on our couch. The hole had been covered up by a very large patch that was now hanging down. Living spaces sent a technician to our home to repair the damage, instead this person ripped the whole dust cover off and then realized he didn't even have the right materials to do the repair. After not hearing anything for a week on when he would return I call living spaces and no one can tell me when my couch will be repaired. All I've gotten is accusations on how it was probably us that did the damage in the first place. Does that even matter now when your person came and ripped the whole thing off. Terrible service and trying to scam customers with damaged furniture. When is my couch going to be repaired?

Hi Scott.

Appreciated reading your complaint.

The reason for accepting or not accepting delivery on a particular purchase should never be taken lightly. When you authorize someone to take delivery on your behalf, you're basically giving them power of attorney. Because one cannot control an item after delivery, signing for a product is the same as accepting the condition.

Contact a place called Hoke's Interiors out of Murrieta. Phone number [protected]. They (He) can correct any slight imperfections you have noticed after the fact.

Living Spaces Furniture area rug

I purchased an area rug and nightstands from the San Tan Village store on 9/17/17, Order #: SO-[protected]. My rug is already starting to fray. I purchased the extended warranty, but was told that manufacturer defects are not covered. I then spoke with the warranty customer service department and was told there is no warranty whatsoever. I cannot believe that LS doesn't stand by their products at all... it's been less than a month and my rug is falling apart. I would expect any smart business to replace the rug as it clearly is defective... but after speaking with customer service representatives it's clear that LS does not need my business.

Living Spaces Furniture my mattress

Hello,
Last weekend my family went to Living Spaces in Fremont where we have purchased a number of beautiful pieces for our house and decided it was time to purchase a new mattress. We purchased our last bed frame and mattress 10 years ago and we have been buying King size sheets ever since. My husband assumed we had a standard King size mattress so we ordered a new one at Living Spaces, their Reflex brands. Today they arrived, removed our old mattress, brought the new mattress to our room, removed the mattress from the box, unrolled it and then left. They never looked to see if it fit. As soon as they left my husband realized the mattress didn't fit. He called the store and they said there was nothing they could do. They didn't offer to call the movers to see if they would return our old mattress. Nada. As soon as I got home from work I called Living Spaces explained the situation, explained we made a simple mistake and again they apologized but they couldn't do an exchange since the mattress wasn't in the box. How are we supposed to sleep? They took our old mattress, left us with a $1300 mattress we can't use. I'm exhausted and sick and now I can't sleep. We don't have money to throw away. Many companies have a 30-day return policy if the mattress doesn't work. Well, we were wrong about Living Spaces. They don't work with their customers. I am so furious. The manager said they would send us a metal frame..well that was kind however I explained we don't have a box spring so that wouldn't help us one bit. Then they suggested we buy a new bed to go with the mattress. Well, how are we supposed to pay for a new bed when we barely had enough to buy a new mattress. Our bed frame is beautiful and is perfectly fine.

Living Spaces Furniture cypress section in belam putty fabric

We bought our sectional on 8/25/16 and 10 weeks after delivery our fabric started piling/fraying. We bought the extended warranty which is worded "Does not cover fraying/piling (over time)" No one can tell us what over time means. They declined two claims (12/2016 and 1/2017) for the fraying and actually told us to stop calling cause they weren't going to fix it. We sent an email to corporate (5/517) who also said they couldn't help us because it was a manufacturer defect. Visited the store and talked to the regional manager, AJ Dekker, who told us that fraying at 10 weeks was normal maintenance issue and a piling machine would take care of it. It didn't. He also told me that they didn't need to disclose that their fabric wore so quickly because it was "common knowledge". He told a friend who visited that our couch was not made for a family of 6, which is ridiculous because it seats 10+ comfortably. Their website lists a fabric warranty of 1 year but right beneath it has a long list of things not included and even states "normal wear" as not covered. They are company that are not interested in repeat customers and sell sub-par furniture with defective fabric. We picketed them on Labor Day and will be back again. We want our couch refunded and returned. We don't trust anything they say or any of their products. Stay away!

Living Spaces Furniture pick up

I ordered a sofa online. My husband paid for it on his debit card. However, I used my account to place the order so I was advised that I would have to be present at time of pick up. I called customer service and practically begged the rep to allow my husband to pickup the iyem. I even offered to submit a document in writing providing authorization for him to pick up, to no avail. I told her he will be commuting from LA with a friend whom we are paying to allow us to use his truck. I am carpooling from Irvine. It's practically impossible for me to get my kids and meet him in La Mirada. He paid for the item, but can't pick up? How upsurd! She advised that I can cancel the order with a 27.00 fee. Then, we would have to pick up on the weekend because the availability of the couch would change and it would have to be pushed back. We do this have access to the truck on the weekend! Its unbelievable to me that there is NO WAY for my spouse to pick up an item. I cannot even go online and add him myself.

Living Spaces Furniture total experience

We purchased a sofa from the Menifee location. Picked it up and placed it in our living room. As we took off the cardboard there was a big tear with black stain behind the cardboard. We then loaded the sofa back in our truck and drove 20 minutes back to the store. We were told to come back the following day and pick up a new sofa. Once loaded in the truck we decided to look behind the the cardboard and once again it was torn with black stain from being drug around. We talked with the manager who stated they would deliver another new sofa later today. My wife called to see what time it would be delivered and they said between 6p.m. and midnight. Who delivers at midnight? Absolutely terrible place to buy furniture and will never do it again. We have not had a couch for three days and the customer must be wrong! I recommend never buying from Living Spaces!

Living Spaces Furniture tv commercial

I just saw commercial advertising a certain type of bed brand. If we buy one, then you will give a deserving vet the same name brand bed. I am sure this complaint will not go anywhere but at least I can vent. How in the hell does Living Spaces decide who a deserving vet is ? Aren't all Vets that served our country deserving, regardless of what role they played. I am a vet myself. Does this mean they have to have lost limbs, PTSD, lost a family member, I could go on and on with possibilities of what typ of vet would be deserving. I shop at you store, spent good money there. But will no more, I think you have not only offened me by the words misused in the commercial, but a lot of people with Veterens in the family. I hope this commercial is taken down.

Living Spaces Furniture abigail sofa

We purchased a sofa in February 2017. It came stained and with a broker leg. After a month went by the "down feathers" started coming through the fabric at which point we couldn't sit on it unless we put a comforter over it because the feather poke through. So we have an $1100 sofa we can't sit on with a broker leg and stains. I will tell everyone I know NEVER to purchase anything there. Today is Aug 17 2017 and we are still trying to get a hold of a supervisor. I only wish they someday go out of business.

Living Spaces Furniture unethical behavior - try to hide damage on furniture you are purchasing

July 2nd purchased a bed, mattress, and a night stand from Living Spaces in Rancho Cucamonga. The furniture was in the main area of the store, but since it was the last bed in stock, they had a small discount on the bed. Since they considered this an AS IS sale, two sales people inspected the items, and marked down a couple nicks on their Inspection Sheet. Since they needed time to breakdown the bed, we went to lunch then returned to have items loaded in our truck. The items were not yet ready, so my husband went inside to see what was going on. He happened to see the employee had loaded the foot board and the head board on a cart and was heading towards loading. He noticed the employee hit the items against the wall a couple of times. When he came out to advise me, they had the items getting ready to wrap in plastic for loading. My husband also noticed they had the foot board and the head board loaded on top of each other front to front vs back to back. He went over to check and the headboard on the bottom had a huge gouge out of the wood. I was very upset and went inside. Management was very useless and non chalant. The front desk girl was trying to help but didn't know what to do. When they asked the employee who loaded the items on the cart what happened, he said that when he took the price tag off of the headboard the gouge was already there. So I guess he thought it would be best to just put it on the bottom and wrap it up so we didn't notice it. One, either he did it and didn't want to fess up, or two, once he noticed it under the price tag he should have advised us vs. hiding it. Either way, very unethical behavior. With the AS IS, since the item was not marked on their Inspection Sheet, if I would have gotten it home without seeing it, we would have not been able to get our money back or return it. I am disgusted about the stores integrity, and also about the useless behavior of the manager to help us out. I submitted complaint to Living Spaces online, however, they are also non responsive. I paid with my debit card, so from Sunday to Wednesday, my money was not available to me. I had to wait for the credit to go through. My account did not credit right away. This was one of the most ridiculous purchases I ever tried to make.

Living Spaces Furniture refund of purchase discount and horrible customer services

I purchase a creamy gray sofa set on 5/29/2017 at the store in Mission Valley, San Diego.

The sofa set consists of five pieces which were delivered via three attempts/exchanges due to product defects. The final delivery was on 6/16/2017, when last two pieces came in with a slight color mismatch. I was offered three options: 1. return the full set, 2. order a set with darker color, and 3. keep the full set but with 10% purchase discount on the last two pieces ($141.16). Here started the story:

A. 6/16/2017: $141.16 purchase discount was promised.
B. 6/24/2017: I called customer services to see what was going on because I didn't receive any information about the refund. I was told that the refund was in the form of store credit. Then I asked the associate to put it back to my credit card which I used to buy the sofa. Still no confirmation of any sort (email, phone call, etc.).
C. 6/30/2017: I called again to check the status because I still hadn't received the money or any message from Living Spaces. The associate told me he would email accounting to find out and get back to me. The associate also told me that it may take my credit card company a month to post the money to my account. That is BS, I told him. Still, no message afterwards.
D. 7/6/2017: I called again and was ready to escalate. But the associate sounded so considerate and so serious about getting to the bottom of the issue. I decided to give her another chance to talk to accounting and to send me some information about what was going on. She specifically promised to make sure someone will contact me. No, nothing came back!
E. 7/13/2017: I called and was determined to escalate and to report to Better Business Bureau. The associate told me there was a misunderstanding about the refund and nothing had been done to process the refund. Wow. That is how Living Spaces does business! She wanted to understand AGAIN why there was a refund. I was furious. Not her fault but couldn't trust her anymore! She actually went to talk to her manager and promised me to take care of the issue immediately. I had enough! I insisted talking to her manager. The manager immediately processed the refund and an email confirmation was in my email box instantly!

The moral of the story: escalate immediately, if you ever encounter any issues with Living Spaces. Don't trust those gatekeeping associates.

Living Spaces Furniture beyond poor quality product/incompetent customer service

Stay away from Living Spaces. Frustrations never ends with this store. Ordered a pair of accent chairs. One was delivered with obvious damage to the fabric. Contacted their customer service and they agreed to replace the chair. Twice, they've been sending damaged replacement chairs that we've been rejecting. Obviously, they have no quality assurance in place as the quality of items in the store is different from what's delivered. Chances are you'll be charge with a 25% stocking fee for returning an item.

It's been three months and still no resolution. Btw, I discussed this issue with a warranty manager and we agreed that I can go the store to pick a ready made item and that I will simply get an exchange. I came back to Living Spaces Scottsdale (+/- 20 miles away) and they would not honor the exchange as the warranty manager did not document our discussion per customer service manager. What a waste of time and never again.

Living Spaces Furniture 2 piece deegan loveseat and sofa set

I came into the store and purchased the sofa sets under the progressive loan program on 6/18/17. I made a down payment of $57 and my delivery date was scheduled for 7/4/17. I came in 6/23/17 and purchased the sofa sets in full and was told my sofas would still be delivered on 7/4. Today I came in the store to add a dining table set to the Progressive program I previously qualified for, with the hopes it could be added to my current order. Upon purchase I was told my sofa set order was cancelled or my sofas were in stock and given to another customer. Now I must wait for the sofas to be made and placed back in stock. This is a huge inconvenience to me as I have recently moved and have no furniture and was looking forward to my delivery on 7/4. I don't understand why I was not told I wouldn't receive my sofas when I was in the store on 6/23. Do to your company's mistake I am forced to cancel summer entertaining plans I'd previously made because I removed my old furniture with the intention of having my new sofas in my home. Order no. SO-[protected], cust no. C-[protected]. I would appreciate a response, thank you. Meichele McGriff.
