Mixed Experiences with Lord & Taylor
As a potential customer considering shopping at Lord & Taylor, it's important to note the mixed experiences shared by other customers. While some customers have praised the product quality and customer service, others have faced issues such as receiving wrong items, delays in refunds, and poor communication. It seems that the overall satisfaction levels vary greatly among customers. Therefore, it's advisable to proceed with caution and be aware of the potential challenges you might encounter when shopping at Lord & Taylor.
I should have checked the reviews first
I received my purse in a timely manner only it was dirty. I can't believe they would sell a name brand purse dirty.
No refund yet and no customer service
Ten days now and no refund. They said they had a problem with paypal probably because they want to keep ten bucks. They do not have a phone line, just text and I think it is a chatbot. It was a very nice dress but sizing was off. I should be able to get a refund. Not happy.

Non-existent Customer Service
I ordered 2 pieces from L&T on September 14. I received the tracking information for both. One item arrived in a timely fashion; the other has yet to arrive (October 4th). I have reached out to ***@lordandtaylor.com at least 3 times now, all to no avail. You cannot talk to a live person; you must either text or send an email. But they don't answer anyway.
I can't seem to upload an image of the receipt.
When I lived in NYC, I enjoyed going to L&T. I don't live there anymore, so I visit online. I may never buy anything from them again as this has not been a pleasant experience.
I wish they had lost the other item as it's just OK. I don't know if they'll ever do anything about it. I would rather receive the item that was lost (Lasdon Ruana shawl).
Two out of 4 not ok
I ordered in February some shorts for my husband and a cover up for me. The cover up was ok but only 1 out of the the 3 shorts worked out. I bought them in February but they didn't get in on time for our vacation so I held it for his birthday in April. Ugh! 1 pair we're supposed to be white jean Bermuda length size 30.
When he tried them on, I can't even describe how bad they are. He is thin this looks like saddle bag pants. Definitely NOT FOR MEN!
He doesn't have hips. They also have a design of wrinkle look it was not described this way. Thinking I had 90 days I waited for his birthday. Now it says passed 45 days no return. Even if it's not what you ordered because those pants are not?! Not shopping here eve again. I hate online shopping now I remember Why!
I used to LOVE LordandTaylor until I was shopping for
I used to LOVE LordandTaylor until I was shopping for sunglasses and wanted to do some price research online. The same pair of Kate Spade's aviator sunglasses were worth nearly $50.00 less on Amazon... Great shoes selection though!
Terrific
Quality you can count on, great customer service.
YSL
Pretty good. 15 percent on day next day 20 percent. No price adjustment. Still a good price for lou lou medium
Fraudulent Return Policy: My Experience with Lord & Taylor
Lord+Taylor, or L&T, is an online store that I recently tried out. I had some reservations because a few years ago, I had a bad experience with them when they were still a physical store. I ordered some items that didn't fit, and when I returned them, I never received a refund. I tried calling and emailing, but I was told that they never received my return. It was frustrating because not only did they keep my return, but they also kept my money.
However, I decided to give L&T another chance since they are now doing business online. I ordered two dresses that cost me $565.00. Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with the merchandise, so I decided to return them. I received a shipping label, and I packaged the dresses exactly as they were shipped to me. I received an email confirming that they received the return, but weeks later, I realized that I still haven't received the refund.
Before shipping the items, I took a picture of the box with the shipping label in place. I contacted L&T to inquire about the refund, and I was told that they refunded one dress but not the other. I requested that they send the dress back to me, but I still haven't received it. It's frustrating because L&T now has my dress and my money.
I believe that L&T's return policy is fraudulent. I would caution anyone against ordering from them unless they are 100% certain that they will like what they ordered. It's disappointing because I had hoped that my experience with L&T would be better this time around, but unfortunately, it wasn't.
Lord & Taylor's Return Policy Falls Short: A Disappointing Experience
So, I bought this sweater from Lord & Taylor, and I was pretty excited about it. It was a washable sweater, which is always a plus in my book. I wore it a couple of times and then decided to wash it. When I took it out of the washer, I noticed that the neck seam had come apart. I was pretty disappointed, to say the least.
I decided to contact Lord & Taylor via live chat to see if they could help me out. Unfortunately, their response was not what I was hoping for. They told me that my order didn't qualify for a return because it had been more than 30 days since the shipping date. They also said that the item needed to be in its original packaging with the tags still on it, and that only unused, unworn, and unwashed items could be returned. They even charged a $9.95 return shipping fee!
I was pretty frustrated with this response. I mean, how was I supposed to know that the sweater was going to fall apart after only two wears and one wash? It's not like I intentionally damaged it or anything. I felt like Lord & Taylor was being completely unreasonable.
Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience with Lord & Taylor. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again in the future. It's a shame, because I had high hopes for that sweater. But I guess you live and learn, right?
Lord+Taylor's Unprofessional Handling of Return Request
I recently purchased a dress from Lord+Taylor for a wedding in October. Unfortunately, when I tried on the dress, one of the plastic tags came off and the dress did not fit properly. As I am only five feet tall, the dress was much too long for me and I decided against the expense of getting it altered.
I reached out to the customer service team via their online chat, as it was the only option available to me, to inform them of the issue with the dress. They were very understanding and advised me to return the dress for a refund, which I did at my own expense. I received confirmation that the dress had been received by Lord+Taylor, but was disappointed to hear that they were denying my refund due to the missing plastic tag.
This led to a month-long back and forth via email, with different representatives giving conflicting information. I was frustrated with the lack of consistency and clarity in their communication. Finally, I received an email stating that I could not return the dress due to missing stones, which was a completely new reason that had not been mentioned before.
I am extremely disappointed with the way Lord+Taylor has handled this situation. It is unacceptable to make up new reasons to deny a return and to make false accusations against a customer. While the money has become secondary, I am appalled by the assault on my character and the lack of professionalism displayed by Lord+Taylor.
I strongly advise against ordering from Lord+Taylor and will be taking this issue up with my credit card company. It is important to hold companies accountable for their actions and to ensure that customers are treated with respect and fairness.
Lord+Taylor's Customer Service and Inventory Management Need Improvement
I recently had an experience with Lord+Taylor that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had ordered a beautiful size 14 gown for a special occasion, and paid extra for faster delivery. The price was a bit steep at $698, but I was willing to splurge for the perfect dress. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I asked for a discount and they gave me a code for 20% off, bringing the price down to $558.40.
Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived. Just three days later, I received an email from L&T stating that they did not have enough stock to fulfill my order and it was cancelled. I was confused and upset, so I reached out to their customer service via text (since there is no phone number provided). The agent told me that it was the vendor's fault, but that my size was still available and I could reorder. I explained that the vendor had already emailed me saying there was no inventory, and asked if they could contact the vendor to see what sizes were actually available. The agent said they couldn't do that, but that their website indicated my size was in stock.
Meanwhile, I was still waiting for my refund to come through, which would take several days. To make matters worse, L&T couldn't give me another 20% code because it had already been used on my cancelled order. They offered to compensate me with free standard shipping, but that was already included due to the amount of money I was spending. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the agent seemed annoyed and said they had already given me all the information I needed.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to try the online chat with another agent. This agent told me that the dress was available on their end, so I should just reorder it. However, the gown was made by MacDuggal, so I decided to email them directly to confirm. To my dismay, they responded that the gown was NOT available and that L&T's website was not up to date. If I had followed the agent's advice and reordered, I would have been out over a thousand dollars waiting for a refund that may not have come through.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Lord+Taylor. While I appreciate the initial discount they gave me, the lack of communication and conflicting information from their customer service left me feeling frustrated and unsure. I hope they can improve their inventory management and customer service in the future.
Lord & Taylor Review: Poor Customer Support and Quality, Non-Responsive to Complaints
I gotta say, Lord & Taylor is a real letdown. I mean, where's the customer support at? I tried emailing them about my order and missing items, but they never got back to me. And don't even get me started on that skirt I ordered. It wasn't even marked as final sale or non-returnable, but when I tried to send it back, they said I couldn't. I had to email them and complain just to get a generic return label. And now they're sending it back to me? What a joke.
I spent a whopping $400 on this order, and I didn't even get everything I paid for. Plus, the clothes were not great quality. I returned everything else out of frustration, but all I got was a measly $60 refund. That's not even close to what I spent! And to top it all off, there's no phone number to call or any real way to get in touch with them. It's like they don't even care about their customers.
I've seen other reviews with similar complaints, and it's just not right. Lord & Taylor needs to step up their game and start treating their customers better. Don't waste your time or money on this company.
Unprofessional Customer Service at Lord and Taylor in Boston, MA
I recently purchased a cosmetic set from Lord and Taylor at the PRUDENTIAL CENTER in Boston, MA on July 3, 2020. The store's policy states that I have 30 days to exchange or return my purchase. Unfortunately, I had to return the item for a certain reason and the last day to do so was Monday, August 4. However, when I arrived at the store on that day, it was closed. I returned the next day, but it was still closed. As I cannot go to the store every day, I had to wait until Thursday to return the item.
When I finally returned to the store, I was met with an unhelpful store assistant who had to consult with someone on the radio, allegedly a store manager named Khoney. The assistant informed me that my last day to return the item was Monday, August 4, even though the store was closed on that day. When I asked if the store was open, the assistant said no and that there was no way to help me. Khoney then gave me another store manager's phone number to deal with the situation, but despite calling many times, nobody answered.
I was extremely disappointed with the unprofessional manner in which I was treated. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism, especially when I am standing in front of a store manager. Instead, I was given a phone number and left to deal with the situation on my own. I felt disrespected and ignored.
It is unfortunate that Lord and Taylor is going bankrupt, but that does not excuse the poor customer service I received. As a result, I will not be spending my money at Lord and Taylor again. I value my time and myself too much to tolerate unprofessional communication and disrespect.
Lord and Taylor Review: Complicated Return Process and Unhelpful Customer Service
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience shopping at Lord and Taylor. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before placing my order, and boy do I regret it now.
I ordered two different sizes of the same skirt, hoping that at least one of them would fit. Unfortunately, neither of them did, so I decided to initiate a return. I wanted to return the items to the store, but I found out that all the stores are permanently closed. Bummer.
So, I decided to ship the items back instead. I put both of them in the same box and paid for the return shipping costs for both items. Seems pretty straightforward, right? Wrong.
When I checked my account, I noticed that only one of the items had been refunded. What the heck? I contacted customer service to figure out what was going on, and this is the response I got:
"Thank you for reaching out, I am happy to help!
I apologize that you still did not receive the refund on order ***. No worries, let me assist you.
Upon checking, I can see here that there are return labels that were confirmed from your order. Please be informed that we are service partners to multiple brands and hence, we deal with hundreds of transactions every day. In returning an order, we do have a specific process to help us track and process the returned items easily. Without using the correct and specific return label, we will not be able to find the returned items. Our warehouse receives a high volume of incoming and outgoing transactions every day which is why we do have the system to automatically check the orders.
Kindly note that each return label should be used in separate boxes when returning multiple orders to avoid any refund issues because if you used one box only for all the items, it would show in our records that you only returned that one order number. The refund will only be processed for the return label that you used when you returned all the items. In your case, our system only recognized the order in the return label you used. Therefore, only one order was refunded. Moving forward, let me go ahead and relay this concern to our team and set a proper investigation. I will get back to you with an update.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great day!
All the best,
Mark R.
Lord and Taylor | Customer Service Specialist"
Okay, first of all, why do they make the return process so complicated? And secondly, why didn't they make it clear that I needed to use separate boxes for each item? I mean, who would have thought that putting two items in the same box would cause such a problem?
To make matters worse, the refund amount was only about $31. I get that it's not a huge amount of money, but come on. Mark R. from Lord and Taylor really put up a fight for that $31. I mean, I appreciate that he was trying to help, but it shouldn't have been such a hassle in the first place.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend shopping at Lord and Taylor. The return process is a nightmare, and the customer service isn't all that helpful. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
Lord & Taylor Review: Terrible Customer Service and Return Policy Violations
Hey guys, just wanted to give you a heads up about my experience with Lord & Taylor (lordandtaylor.com). It's been a real headache dealing with them since May 2020 and it's now July 2020. I returned some items I purchased with my L&T credit card within the 30-day return window, but instead of getting a credit to my account, I received a merchandise card in the mail from FedEx.
When I tried to call customer service, I was put on hold for what felt like forever. I even tried contacting my L&T card, but they told me they couldn't help and that I had to deal with L&T customer service directly. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, I was able to get through to L&T customer service, which is now based in the Philippines. They told me they were having computer problems and couldn't credit my account at the time, which is why I received the merchandise credit. They also said that if you don't specifically request a refund, they generally provide a merchandise credit, which is in direct conflict with their published return policy on their website.
The representative gave me a case number and said I would receive an email and my account would be credited within two weeks. But I never received an email or a credit to my account. When I called again, I was told the delay was now one month and I had two more weeks to go. They gave me a specific date that I would receive the credit, but that didn't happen either.
I even tried contacting Le Tote customer service, but it was a real struggle to get someone to listen to my problem. They told me they had a backlog and would process my refund when they got to it. But it's been two months now and they still have my money (over $200) and the merchandise that I returned. I'm paying interest on a balance I don't owe and it's ridiculous. I never expected this from Lord & Taylor. I'm pretty sure it's because of their new owner, Le Tote.
This is not the store we all loved to shop at. It's not the place with excellent customer service where you were treated like royalty. It's worse than Walmart, at least they honor their return policy. Don't be fooled by their "DEALS" and don't shop at this store! I've even opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I'm about to contact the Office of the Attorney General as well as Division of Consumer Affairs. I'm being ripped off and it's not fair.
Lord & Taylor's Online Store Charged Me Multiple Times for One Order!
I recently had a terrible experience with Lord & Taylor's online store. I placed two orders on November 13, 2020, using my debit card. The transaction costs were immediately debited from my checking account, which was expected. However, the following day, I received six different email notifications stating that part of my order was being shipped. Each email included a photo and the price of the item being shipped, and the total order cost was quoted at the bottom of the message. What I noticed was that each time I received an email, a corresponding debit appeared in my checking account! The new charge wasn't for the cost of the item being shipped; they charged the reduced balance after the cost of the item had been removed from the original balance.
For clarification, order #1 was $462.12. On November 14 at 2:02 PM, I received one of six emails stating that they shipped a dress (RACHEL Rachel Roy Marcella Floral-Print Sheath Dress Black Combo: $59.50). I received an alert from my bank regarding a charge to my debit card for $399.05 (the cost of the dress plus tax from the shipping state). They charged an additional $399.05 to my checking account. The same day at 4:15 PM, I received two of six emails about a partial shipment: Dress The Population Liza Sequined Slit-Sleeve A-Line Dress: $49.60. My debit card was charged -346.47 (the balance after the cost of the dress plus tax from the shipping state). I received another message (3 of 6 emails) at 4:37 PM: Partial shipment of Tadashi Shoji Sequin-Embellished V-Neck Gown &97.00. That followed with an alert text from my bank that a debit charge for $243.65 was posted to my checking account (the balance of my original purchase after the cost of $97 plus tax was deducted). I logged in to my Lord & Taylor account to check my order history. I only saw the two orders that I had placed the night before. I suspected that my debit card had been compromised. I called my bank to ask about this. While I was on the phone with my bank, at 7:18 PM, I received another email message (4 of 6 emails) regarding the partial shipment of RACHEL Rachel Roy Lynette Off-The-Shoulder Sheath Dress $55.60. That followed with a text alert from my bank regarding another debit charge of $188.05 (the balance after the cost of the dress has been deducted from my original purchase of $462.12).
THEN, at 7:35 PM, I received another partial shipment notice (5 of 6 emails) regarding order #2 (which originally cost $210.32 - paid on November 13th): Tahari Arthur S. Levine Long-Sleeve Velvet Jacket ($63.60) - followed by a text alert from my bank regarding a debit charge for $142.90. At 7:49 PM, I received the 6th partial shipment email notice (also for order #2) stating that Tahari Arthur S. Levine Velvet Slim Pants ($35.60) were shipped - followed by a text alert from my bank that a debit charge of $105.16 was posted to my checking account. The total new charges on my debit card were $1,459.68 (American Dollars)!
Oh, and that's not all! Last month, I placed two orders on October 24, 2020, and another order on October 31, 2020. The same thing happened with those orders too, and my bank suspected fraud and closed my previous debit card to prevent additional purchases. Now that I've figured out what they're doing, I will have my bank go back and force Lord & Taylor to restore the $3,560.55 of bogus duplicate charges for those transactions as well!
What the hell is going on with their accounting department? These charges are on top of my original expense of $462.12 (for order #1) and $210.32 (for order #2), which were both paid in full on Friday, November 13, 2020. In the fine print of the Lord & Taylor email communications, the fine print states: "If you have any questions regarding your order, please reply to this email or contact customer service from 7 am - 2 am EST, 7 days a week, at ***440." Of course, after receiving the first message, I immediately called the phone number, to receive the recording "Thank you for calling Lord & Taylor. We are closed. Normal business hours are Monday - Friday..." This time, I asked my bank not to close my current debit card until after I reach someone at Lord & Taylor customer service and/or their billing department.
I understand what's happening. All of the additional charges that were posted are adjustments that should never have posted to my debit card. The adjustments should only have remained on their back-end accounting - not on my debit card. Just think, if I had used my credit card, I never would have seen the charges until the following month - after my credit card statement had been issued!
It's no wonder they're going out of business - but they better give back my money before that store closes for good! Don't shop here. If you made an online purchase, check your account statements!
Lord and Taylor Review: Nightmare Customer Service and Website Issues
Lord and Taylor is a store that I would not recommend to anyone. I have had the worst experience with them, and I am not happy at all. I have dealt with other companies like Nordstrom and Zappos, and they have always provided me with quick and excellent customer service. However, Lord and Taylor has been a complete nightmare.
It took me eight emails and two phone calls to get my issue resolved, and it is still not resolved ten days after my first attempt. I expected much more from the oldest luxury department store in the U.S. The customer care representatives were polite, but it seemed like they were just offering scripted replies because they couldn't do much. I understand that they have no control over corporate policy, but it was a constant struggle to get the company to acknowledge that anything was wrong.
The website doesn't update in real-time, so there is always a possibility that all or part of an order gets cancelled. I have never run into this issue anywhere else in all my years of shopping online. On top of that, the company either cannot or does not credit money back to the account in a timely manner, which is simply unbelievable. Every step of getting my money back for a situation out of my control has been a hurdle that apparently requires 3-5 business days to investigate, and 3-5 more business days for the money to make it into my account.
I am fortunate that I have both the time to deal with this ridiculous situation, and that I am not in financial need of the money right away. I can't even imagine how much more stressful and absurd this would be if that weren't the case. This whole ordeal has left me in furious disbelief at the deceit and manipulation of this well-known company. Needless to say, I will absolutely not be doing business with Lord and Taylor in the future.
Let me tell you about my experience. I ordered two pairs of shoes in the same style and different sizes, and it seemed like everything was fine until I opened the package and saw only one pair. The invoice stated that one of the sizes was Cancelled - Out of Stock. I thought it was strange and mildly irritating that there was no prior communication about the shoes being out of stock, nor was there a credit back to my account after I was charged for something that was unavailable.
When I emailed Lord and Taylor about this mistake, I was first told the shoes had been delivered, and I had to respond saying that, yes, I did receive a package, but with only half of my order. I included a photo of the invoice and order with this message, only to be told again that both pairs were shown as being delivered, and to wait two more days to see if the other pair showed up before contacting customer service.
Lo and behold, two days passed and nothing turned up on my doorstep. Five days after my initial attempt, Lord and Taylor finally submitted a case for review that would take 5-7 business days to receive. After waiting two days, I called customer service to check on its status, and also see if I could get a complimentary return label for the pair of shoes I did receive (too small). I was so tired of dealing with this company and its lack of initiative in resolving my issues. I had stated that I wished to return them in my very first message, and while the representative was pleasantly agreeable and sent me a label, it seems like a minor courtesy that Lord and Taylor should have offered at the onset as a mark of good customer service, and for all the inconvenience that stemmed from their mistake.
I thought that was the end of it, but I REALLY wanted these shoes, and noticed soon after that they were shown as available online in the exact size and color that I ordered and never received. So I called customer service once again to see if they could somehow just send me this pair and forget about the case/refund. I knew it was a lot to ask and was disappointed but not too surprised when I was told I would have to place another order. I placed an order with the representative but was understandably concerned that it would get cancelled yet again. It was only after I expressed my exasperation with my experience and pressed the representative that she admitted that, yes, that could very well happen. Apparently, because Lord and Taylors website isn't updated in real-time, there is essentially no guarantee that a customer will get what they actually ordered.
Two days after I placed this new order, I received an email saying it was cancelled. Honestly, I expected it at this point. Ten days have passed since I sent my first message, and I am still waiting for a refund for a product I never received. I plan on keeping a copy of my invoice when I send in the shoes for return because I wouldn't put it past this company to dismiss my case or pretend like it never happened. Get it together, Lord and Taylor.

No refunds! L&t not honoring return policy
Just a word of warning to other consumers... I have been engaged in a battle with L&T (and their parent company Le Tote) since May 2020 it is now July 2020. I returned merchandise purchased with a L&T credit card well within the 30 day return time frame. I did not receive a credit to my account. Instead I cane hone to find a FedEx envelope with a L&T merchandise card.
When I called the 800 number for customer service, I encountered ridiculous hold tones upwards of an hour. I tried contacting my L&T card only to be told that they are Capital One not L&T and they understand the situation and have received numerous complaints but can't help me. They said I must deal with L&T customer service directly.
I finally stayed in hold for an eternity to reach L&T customer service. They are now based in the Philippines. I was told that they were having computer problems and were unable to credit my account at the time which is why I received the merchandise credit. Additionally if you do not specifically request a refund then they generally provide a merchandise credit. This is in direct conflict with their published return policy on their website. The representative gave me a case number and said I would receive an email and my account would be credited at which time I could destroy the merchandise credit card. The expected time frame was about two weeks.
I did not receive an email nor was my account credited. I called again and was told the delay was now 1 month and I had two more weeks to go. I was given a specific date that I would receive the credit. That did not occur.
I contacted Le Tote customer service. I had a very difficult time reaching someone who would actually listen to my problem. She assured me she would "escalate" the issue and email me. She emailed me several days later stating that they have a backlog and they will process my refund when they get to it. Their customer service is also located in the Philippines.
It's been 2 months, they have my money (over $200) and the merchandise that I returned yet I'm paying interest on a balance I do not owe. It's ridiculous and I shouldn't have to wait longer.
I have opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am about to contact the Office of the Attorney General as well as Division of Consumer Affairs.
I am being ripped off. I never expected this from Lord & Taylor. I am certain it is attributable to their new owner Le Tote.
It is not the store we all loved to shop at. It is not the place with excellent customer service where you were treated like royalty. It is worse than Walmart, at least there they honor their return policy. Do not be sucked in by their "DEALS", do not patronize this store!
HELP! Lord & Taylor (online) is DOUBLE CHARGING ME $1,459.68!
Lord & Taylor is DOUBLE CHARGING ME $1,459.68! I used my debit card to place 2 orders on November 13,2020. Since my debit card was used, the transaction costs were immediately (and correctly) debited from my Checking Account. Order 1 ($416.12) had a total of 6 items. Order 2 ($210.32) The following day after I checked out online, Lord & Taylor sent 6 different email notifications stating that PART of my order was being shipped. Each email included a photo and the price of the was being shipped, the total order cost was quoted at the bottom of the message. I noticed that each time I received an email, a corresponding DEBIT appeared in my checking account! The new charge wasn't for the cost of the item being shipped, they charged the REDUCED BALANCE after the cost of the item had been removed from the original balance.
For clarification: Order #1 is $462.12. On 11/14 at 2:02 PM I get 1 of 6 emails stating that they shipped a dress (RACHEL Rachel Roy Marcella Floral-Print Sheath Dress Black Combo: $59.50). I receive an alert from my bank Re: a charge to my debit card for for $399.05 ( = cost of dress + tax from the shipping state). THEY CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $399.05 TO MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. The same day at 4:15PM I receive 2 of 6 emails about a partial shipment: Dress The Population Liza Sequined Slit-Sleeve A-Line Dress: $49.60. My debit card was charged -346.47 (the balance after the cost of the dress + tax from the shipping state. I get another message (3 of 6 emails) at 4:37 PM: Partial shipment of Tadashi Shoji Sequin-Embellished V-Neck Gown &97.00. That follows with an alert text from my bank that a debit charge for $243.65 was posted to my checking account (the balance of my original purchase after the cost of $97 + tax was deducted). I logged in to my Lord & Taylor account to check my order history. I only saw the 2 orders that I had placed the night before. I suspected that my debit card had been compromised. I called my bank to ask about this. While I was on the phone with my bank, at 718PM, I receive ANOTHER email message (4 of 6 emails) Re: partial shipment of RACHEL Rachel Roy Lynette Off-The-Shoulder Sheath Dress $55.60. That follows w/ a text alert from my bank re: another debit charge of $188.05 (the balance after the cost of the dress has been deducted from my original purchase of $462.12).
THEN, at 7:35 PM, I receive another partial shipment notice (5 of 6 emails) regarding Order #2 (which originally cost $210.32 - Paid on November 13th): Tahari Arthur S. Levine Long-Sleeve Velvet Jacket ($63.60) - followed by a text alert from my bank re: a debit charge for $142.90. At 7:49PM I receive the 6th partial shipment email notice (also for Order #2) stating that Tahari Arthur S. Levine Velvet Slim Pants ($35.60) were shipped - followed w/ a text alert from my bank that a debit charge of $105.16 was posted to my checking account. THE TOTAL N-E-W CHARGES TO ON MY DEBIT CARD = $1,459.68 (American Dollars)!
Oh, and THAT'S NOT ALL! Last month I placed 2 orders on October 24,2020 and another order on October 31,2020. THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THOSE ORDERS TOO, however my bank ALSO suspected fraud and closed my previous debit card to prevent additional purchases. NOW that I've figured out what they're doing, I will have my bank go back and force Lord & Taylor to Restore the $3,560.55 of BOGUS duplicate charges for those transactions as well!
What the Hell is Going On with their accounting department? THESE charges are ON TOP of my original expense of $462.12 (for Order #1) and $210.32 (for Order #2) which were BOTH PAID IN FULL on Friday, November 13,2020. In the fine print of the Lord & Taylor email communications the fine print states: "If you have any questions regarding your order, please reply to this email or contact
Customer service from 7am - 2am EST, 7 days a week, at ***440." Of course after receiving the first message, I immediately called the phone number, to receive the recording" Thank you for calling Lord & Taylor. We are CLOSED. Normal business hours are Monday - Friday..." This time, I asked my bank not to close my current debit card until after I reach someone at Lord & Taylor customer service and/or their Billing department.
I understand what's happening. All of the additional charges that were posted, are adjustments that should NEVER have posted to my debit card. The adjustments should only have remained on their back end accounting - NOT on my debit card. Just think, if I had used my Credit Card, I never would have seen the charges until the following month - after my credit card statement had been issued!
It's no wonder they're going out of business - but they better GIVE BACK MY MONDAY before that store closes for good! DON'T SHOP HERE. IF YOU MADE AN ONLINE PURCHASE, CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT STATEMENTS!

ORDER [protected]
Placed on January 22, 2024 at 9:18 pm
I ordered a jumpsuit on January 22nd and the USPS returned it to Lord & Taylor on February 11th stating the address was incorrect. The address was correct on my order. I've ordered from Lord & Taylor many times and received my items at the same shipping address.
I have texted Lord & Taylor and sent an email to find the status of my return with no response. I cannot locate a customer service phone number nor am I able to live chat.
Claimed loss: Order total was $35.67.
Desired outcome: I would like the money refunded or my item reshipped.

Camper Boots
I ordered a pair of Camper boots that were too tight. I shipped them back within a week of receiving them. The shipment arrived the next day (October 20th).As of this date, December 4th, I have yet to receive a refund.
I have sent numerous emails, did the chat and the text option. I have received the same "7-10 days" nonsense. The only saving grace is that the purchase was made through PayPal. I have disputed the charge through them.
Claimed loss: $215
Desired outcome: I want my money back!!!
Evening dress order # 183747571
I need an evening gown for my son's wedding. I did not want to buy one without being able to try it on, so I called Customer service and asked specifically if I could return it if it didn't fit. They said I could return it within a certain time frame. I bought the dress in a size 20W for $214.40 on Nov. 7th, 2023. Your order confirmation email DID NOT say the dress was a FINAL SALE. The dress did not arrive until Nov. 28th; partly because you neglected to put my address on the package!
The dress is too big. When I tried to initiate a return, it said the deadline for return was Nov. 26th.
The same dress went on sale for $107.00. I wrote to customer service and requested that the dress be exchanged for a smaller size (16W or 18W). I paid full price for the dress and requested it be exchanged for a smaller size dress that was now on sale for half the price. The responses I got just referred me to your "return policy."
Claimed loss: $214.40 for a dress that I cannot wear if you don't agree to exchange it for a smaller size. The delay in delivery causing me to miss the deadline for return was your fault for not putting a proper address on the package.
Desired outcome: Please agree to exchange the size 20W for a 16W or a 18W size. (Preferably 16W)

I purchased a $250 dress for my daughter’s wedding. Two days later it still hasn’t shipped I contacted them asking when it would ship I was informed that it would ship within 3-4 business days and then it would take between 7-9 days to receive. I emailed asking if I could change shipping as I didn’t think I would receive it in time I was told that it...

Returns/zero response
I returned a mother-of-the-bride floor-length dress in early November.
I received notice that a stain was found on the belt, so I would not receive a refund.
I immediately responded that I'd like the dress returned to me.
I have sent five emails, one text, and attempted two chats (on the first one, I waited 30 minutes; on the second, over an hour).
The only ways to contact L&T are on their website.
My assumption is that they've already sold the dress to a cheaper online site.
This business practice is egregious, and I urge everyone to refrain from purchasing from L&T.
Claimed loss: $300
Desired outcome: The dress should be returned to me.If it has been re-sold, I should receive the money from the sale. Otherwise, I would, at least, appreciate a response.
Deceptive return policy/very poor customer service
I purchased a $650 dress from Lord & Taylor and the dress arrived on Oct 27, 2023. Their website stated that the return window for this item closes on Nov 10, 2023. On Nov 10, 2023 I tried to return the dress and was unable to because the return option was no longer available (greyed out).
There is NO customer service phone number for Lord & Taylor and only chat, text and email. All of their physical stores have closed.
After a chat that was never responded to, and many completely ignored texts and emails I don't know here to turn.
The dress has never been worn and still with all tags attached.
Please assist.
Thank you.
Desired outcome: To return the dress and get a refund.
Credit for my return and cancellation of items without notice
I purchased four dresses from Lord & Taylor in October for my upcoming wedding and received two. No notification was received informing me that they had canceled the other two dresses, due to lack of availability. So I kept waiting and finally reached out to find out that they were not coming and I was not charged for them. Out of the two dresses that I did...

I placed this order. From the day after I placed it I contact CS 7 times to cancel. I only heard from them 1 time and all they said is that they would look into it.
The gown arrived and it does not fit nor do i like it.
i tried going on the returns and it says it is unreturnable. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY- WHEN I BOUGHT IT NOTHING STATED IT WAS A NON RETURNABLE ITEM. This gown was expensive and I am quite upset that I cannot return and also that i cannot wear it.
I cannot find a number to communicate with a live person which is also frustrating.
i would like to return this item and be refunded the amount that has been charged to my credit card.
Desired outcome: please issue a return label and refund the amount to my credit card.

Item ordered from Lord and Taylor on July 26, 2023. Item was paid for. Never received order. Sent inquiry emails to Lord and Taylor:
July 31, Aug 1, 5, 8, 18, 29

I did receive responses from L&T that they are working on it. I asked to cancel order and issue a refund. Was told they may not be able to cancel order.

Not issuing return money
Sept 4, 2023 - Order #[protected] - I cannot leave a low enough review because you don’t allow for zero stars. My item was returned and delivered to the warehouse on August 10. I still have not received a refund. I have contacted the company several times and not only to have they not provided a refund.l, they proceeded to address me by a different name than my own. When questioned on that matter, they continue to call me by a different name. I will warn people from purchasing from this company, and I will not be purchasing anything from this company again. They are not following their return policy and seemed content with holding onto my money.
Desired outcome: I would like to receive my money
My order #[protected]
I recently purchased 3 bathing suits on sale from a promotion I received i my e-mail.
I received 2 suits of the three ordered. One never came with my shipment.
I also didn't receive any information that it is back ordered or any remarks. It just never came. How ever I charged over $200.00.!
I am lookig for a credit for that third bathing suit. It was blac v-neck with while trim. It was a one piece suit.l
When will I receive my credit! When I ordered it did not say that it was a final sale. So, I could not return the Gottex suit because it dd not fit correctly.
It is very hard shopping for bathing suits when ordering and not trying them on in a store. They are not available where I live in Michigan!
I used to be a regular shopper at the store in Novi, Michigan, also.
Desired outcome: I want a label to return the Gottex suit, and credit my credit card used.I also expect a credit for the suit I never received, but paid for it already.I expect action from a loyal Lord & Taylor store customer. Sincerely, Susan Stettner
Return/No Refund
On July 17th I placed an order for a dress for an October wedding. Unfortunately it did not fit and I requested a return label, I shipped the dress back with UPS on 7/24/23 and it was received by their warehouse on 7/27/23. I was told that it would take 10 days for a refund. Today it’s been close to a month and still no refund. I’ve called numerous times and they keep telling me their warehouse is backed up and only the warehouse can issue a refund. When I check my account on their website, the dress shows no indication that it has been returned.
Desired outcome: Refund of what I paid for the dress $226.47
Dress return - never received dress back or refund
I purchased a dress for a wedding and didn't end up wearing the dress. I returned it back in April of this year, within the 30 day refund time. I received an email a few weeks later saying the dress couldn't be returned because of a "smell." The dress was unworn and had tags still attached. They told me I'd have to provide a UPS mailing label to get the dress back. I provided that in June, and it is nearing the end of August and I still haven't received the dress. This store has kept my $450 plus my dress, and whenever I reach out to get a status they stop responding. This is theft from them and they aren't resolving the issue.
Desired outcome: I would love to have the dress back, or receive a refund.
