If you are planning to buy a car in true value please check everything (price, Car condition (mechanic, body rust, Whether it is accident vehicle, Battery is good are make up)... If you are not doing so you will held up paying around 8 ~ 10 K Per month just for maintenance. I fed up with this. I bought a zen lx for 2.7 lacs in 2005 till date am spending lot of money on maintenance... My conclusion about true value is... it is not at all TRUE VALUE... It is better to buy the vehicles outside with any of your known person checked the vehicle.

Hi,

You are absolutely correct. I've the same problem with true Value. I've purchased this frustrating Maruti 800 car from True Value on Oct, 2006 from Pasco Automobiles, Gurgaon and from the very beginning I'm facing problems one by one with the car which are as follows : -

1. After one month and that too without driving very little the battery got problem. I had to purchase a new battery as it didn't come under warranty.

2. There was a major problem with the fuel tank which was showing erroneous value in the fuel gauge display. After taking the car twice or thrice it was finally rectified(but not warranted by the mechanic who repaired it and who told me that it can create problem anytime and in that case will have to replace the whole fuel tank) finally on Feb, 2007.

3. There was a problem in the radiator. I reported this in my second servicing during Jan that some burning smell is coming but it was ignored and was told that it was clutch smelling and finally one day when the engine got overheated when I drove it for some long distance then I was told yes there was some problem with the radiator and the blame was on me. Now by that time the 6 month warranty was over and so was told I've to pay for its' replacement/repair but after long discussion and shouting it was repaired(thanks at least it got repaired).

4. Currently the problem is that the A/C is not working properly. I've purchased the car on Oct and started driving it on November and till April I haven't use the A/C but when in April end started using it found this problem immediately. I thought and as told by one of true value person that it might be due to pipe dust or gas shortage and it would be rectified in my next service but now when I gave it for servicing on 19/05/07 to my surprise was told that the compressor is not functioning and they are saying need to replace it which worth Rs.13/14 K. When I shouted after hearing this I've given another option and that they will repair it but the cost will be Rs.3500+. Now please tell me when I have not used the thing how it could be malfunctioning which means it was defective at the time of purchase only but since the warranty is over I'll have to suffer? There is another problem in the car of fifth gear giving noise. This problem I can believe, may be caused by driving for these few months and can be charged if some repair needs to be done but how can a compressor.

Now my question is why true value keeps on saying that so many checks are done before selling a car and its like new and why true value car cost is so much higher(in my case I've purchased this 2000 model at Rs.1,38,000).

Every time I drive the car feel afraid that now some new problem will come and this way feel very frightened to take the car for any long drive. I am thinking right now that it was the worst ever decision of my life to buy a second hand car from true value, instead I should buy a new car or a 2nd hand car from market which costs much less.

Maruti - Is it True Value?

Maruti, India offers a True-Value service to help buy used Maruti cars, which are reportedly duly certified and cross checked. On the face it no different to the services offered by Honda, General Motors and the likes. But, 'True-Value' as I faced was hoodwink for Zero-value.

True-Value cars are claimed to undergo 120 odd quality checks, owners, papers verified and refurbished with genuine parts before handing over to the buyer. When I went to pick up my Maruti Omni, from Jalan Distributors, Calcutta an authorized dealer for Maruti Suzuki True value, I did get a certificate, warranty booklet, double checked papers. But then the car door didn't open, wipers didn't work, horn was barely audible, tyre were spurious etc etc.

Surely Maruti has these basic checks under its 120 quality check point program. I had no other option but to request the dealer to do a basic sanity check done once more.

However, was I residing in New York for example this act would be protected under explicit legal laws specifically defined for used automobile purchase. In India my only point of contact is the salesman of Jalan distributors who thinks I am making a fuss over small issues.

With the used car sector reportedly growing at 20 per cent per annum, there is even more room ahead for irresponsible auto dealers and manufacturers. The unorganized used auto resellers too enjoy a significant share in this market.

It is perhaps time for the Auto Industry alliances to come up with third party certifications and norms on used automobile purchases preferably under government directives. Similar to the pollution norms like Bharat Stage 2, 3 etc. enforced.

Notwithstanding which surely the Indian automotive sector would continue to grow, but with an equated growth in corruption and poor quality.

The Chinese already have strict government regulations for used car selling and purchase in parts, do we need mention they had drawn examples from the west and implemented.

Yours etc.

Like most of the saleman, Janal Distributor's saleman are not very different. I feel the whole system within Jalan is screwed up. All the processes are just forced and they don't follow in practice. Except few, the entire team are a bunch of Liars.

I would never suggest anybody to buy from Jalan in Kolkata.

Maruti True Value is literally ###. I bought My maruti 800 dx in 2004 and it has given ### service. Even a [censored] would be more trustworthy. Tru value people must be checking...

I have just bought a zen from Maruti true value dealer named S.K WHEELS IN NAVI MUMBAI. Before selling me the vehicle they have given all false promises that vehicle will go under 120point check list, which is all crap. They have just filled water in the radiator instead of coolant, though on the job card they have mentioned that coolant was added. When I got my car checked with my mechanic, they said that it was plain water filled. Finally I had to get the coolant filled. I got clutch plate n pressure plate replaced, gear housing is severely damaged causing oil leakage. Also compressor bearing noise n alternator noise.. Please dont pay anything unless you get the vehicle checked by your own mechanic. I am going to get this issue published in the news paper.

I was surprised that valuation shown in maruti true value website for my wagon r Vxi 2006 model having run only 4200km is quite different from the one being offered by marujti authorised shops. More surprise was thrown in when maruti authorised centres demand all original copies verbally and does not agree to issue offer letter for valuation and undertaking of having received all original documents.

I am quite surprised and have doubt on integrity of Maruti true value chain where all transactions are done verbally.

I want to sell my old car, Maruti -800 , AC model 1997. I was given to understand that True value repairs such cars and sells them as second hand.

But True Value says that they do not take cars, which are so old. That is what the person said who came to evaluate, he seemed to be interested to buy on his own and quoted a very low value .

I do not want to sell it to just anybody, Can you please guide me.

I'm disagree what ever you are comment regarding True Value...
As far as used car purchase is concern "Maruti True Value is really organise structure this will help us[used car buyer] to avoid getting cheated from out side broker..
& that what you poeples are log in your complaint... Just think if you are going to purchase the used car from road side broker ..& unfortunatly if there is some problem in vehicle to whom your going to blame ..Because as we know road side brokers shops are always moveble..

True Value is doing really well job as far as motorisation is concern ...

I noted that rates at Maruti True Value are much more than fair value, i.e. model of more than 4 years old and with normal running of around 40000 km, rates are around 50% of new cars. That is, no benefit from taking any car from Maruti True Value.

I have purchase Alto 800 car AP 16DZ 1557@ Rs. 2.90 lakhs model 2017 at True Value, Vijayawada OPP NTR University branch on 14.07.2018. The officials said the RC transfer will complete within 60 days period, but more than 6 months period no RC transfer done. My car insurance also expired by 5th Jan 2019. If any damage occured who is held responsible.
The officials are not showing interest to complete RC transfer from the old owner. Because of this irresponsible, the image of the firm will spoil. In this connection, it is requested to arrange to transfer the RC transfer on me name immediately.

If any consequences arised in this regard, the company is held responsible and proceeding legally to do justice.
