scam. ripoff.
What a scam! I haven't met real people on there yet. Everyone is fake. Many women use someone else's photos. All they want is to make you pay for services provided by the website. Moreover, those women are from third world countries, so think twice or maybe even thrice before signing up. This website is not for those who want to find a real love. It's fake.
mate1.com online dating service is a fraud
I was initially interested, and they advertise options for their service, from 3 day free trial, 3 months, 6 months, etc. but once you give them your account information they do not comply with your request. I was charged $119.94 and was not told how long I was getting this awful service. Also, their have a 20 page TERMS OF CONDITIONS attached which is totally confusing and meant to take your money at their discretion. I filed a complaint with my Bank and waiting for a decision.. Besides, I understand the people on their site are not real, from other countries, etc. PLEASE HAVE THEM REPORTED IMMEDIATELY AND TAKEN OFF THE INTERNET ASAP.
money taken from my account without concern
I signed up for 3 days trial and I found out they took another amount of £39.95 and I don't know why. They didn't ask for permission before taking money from me I request a refund because I didn't want money to be taken from my account apart from the 3 day trial. Furthermore, taking money from someone's account is theft and needs to be prosecuted. I want my money back and I will later unsubscribe from that scam website.
social site
I provided all this info on this form about all the people contacting me for money by Walmart cards and money orders I spent over thirty minutes to fill all your request and it takes me back to the original form and can't proceed. I kept all text messages and emails with their request. I was ask for money in the amount of $4680.00 for tickets for the woman and her daughter, that one was from Nigeria, another was she went to Nigeria with her boyfriend and they broke in and took all their money and killed him One was from Malaysia . I'm and older man, I should have known better than to respond to these women, but I know I have lost my money$75.00 for subscription I don't want them to try and collect for new subscription. I will contact my bank .I would hope no one else has to go thru this I can't sign on to complain because the site won't load like it did before I made a complaint . I'm not the only one this site has scammed, I've read about online.I would appreciate your help Bill
everything
This is complete a fraud of international reputation. I have a membership for 10 days, and I so far received over 3000 invitation from "women" who are ALL US citizen but happens to be in Ghana for a reason or another.
I think an organized criminal supervise and control this site. And authorities should follow up with this, and bring them to justice and have them pay the money back to members
thank you
disgusted!
This was the first time I used a dating site. I joined Mate1 and paid some money and met a nice guy there. Well, he only seemed nice but in reality he was a thieve and wanted only my money! He said something about army, told that he loved me and wanted to see me in real life, but he was stuck at his base and that he needed money to leave it! What a joke! I'm not so stupid to believe in that! I reported him to Mate1 but they did nothing and you'll never guess what they did! They blocked my account! I guess the army guy is their little scam hero to fool and steal money from lonely women. Avoid!
dating site
I have a complaint with this company named mate1.com is a fraud
I know a woman named Maria Arguetar, but this person when I make a request of video not send me the video and ask for money for travel living in usa, only send me this photos I believe that this a men.using this photos for cheating the mens.BEWARE...
fake profiles
This website is a fraud, better save your time and avoid it. Majority of people here are fakes, the responses are phony. You get messages from Mate1 customer service stating that you were put on someone's hot list, but no one is hot listing you but Mate1! Don't be a fool and do not respond to any messages, you will never get a reply! When I joined this site I received tons of messages from pretty ladies saying they were interested in me. How funny is that? My profile was empty and I had no photo! Better go to a local bar and meet someone there! What are we doing with our lives? We are spending money on dating websites talking to people who are not ever real! Disgusting!
internet dating site
I re-joined recently. A few years ago, I wrote and advised that this site was FULL OF SCAMMERS. Someone from Mate1 said they would look into it and correct the situation. Well, I have only been back on the site 3 weeks and it is still FULL OF NIGERIAN or GHANA SCAMMERS. Most have no photos and they all write the same profile information, with most of the answers being "refuse to reply". I know this company makes very good money and every male scammer that signs is, is paying a registration fee. The company does not seem to care who is on the site; as long as they can collect money. If I had to guess, I would say there are more scammers on this site now than there was 3 - 4 years ago. I have reported every single scammer to Mate 1 and NEVER got a reply from them. I have seen a scammer who I report, show up the next day with an identical profile and instead of the pen name "hoping", he changed it to "hping" and he used a third identical profile under another name. There are many innocent, lonely women who will be taken advantage of by these scammers, especially since Mate 1 refuses to do anything about them. For them, it is is about Money, not people! I am tired of reporting these scammer to this company as they refuse to do nothing about them!
dating service took money out of my bank account
This has happened before, they didn't have my consent that time either. I have used Mate 1 before several months ago, when my subscription ran out i did not renew it. the last time i asked Mate 1 to take me off there contact list, this obviously hasn't happened. I Expect Mate 1 to Refund My $181.89 Immediately, i have not been able to pay my rent because they took this money out without my knowledge. Please Contact Me Susan Zawodny on my cell phone ... [protected] or home phone [protected] if you require any more information. Thank You
3 days trying for 1.95 pounds
I have decided to pay the 3 day becouse I have notes enough profile from London . Once I'm inside 1000 women from USA contacted me even if I specify in my description to not bother. That's why I decided it's not for me this site . But trying to unsubscribe discover that the page of Mate1 slow down and block when I go in that direction.
cancelled subs months ago
I cancelled my subscription months ago now yesterday 15 nov 2015 they took 72 doiiars out of my visa debit card without authorisation, that money was allocated to a motel booking witch now got refused innsuficient funds and me and my girlfriend live more than an hour away from Adelaide where we were going to be staying, now there is no accom anywhere at all due to ACDC concert, so we are in dire straights now dont know what to do, but this is fraudulent activity by mate 1..
fake
My email address is getting flooded on a daily basis with what amounts to a cut and paste type of message in that they read word for word as being alike though each is supposedly coming from a different sender. All of which totally amazes me. Not just that yet another site has the audacity to attempt hosing me but that these senders are claiming that I want their pictures and such. Even more amazing is the fact that I haven't got a profile on the site now nor have I ever had a profile on there. When I want to meet potential dating materials, I prefer to actually shut off the computer and leave the house. Stop sending me those stupid emails.
posting a fake profile using my picture and and nickname
I was made aware that the online dating site, Mate1.com, had hacked an old photograph of me, an old username that includes the name of the complex where I used to live, Lakeridge--I moved over 3 years ago-- and a user "handle I have not used in many years "LakeridgeDave". It, in keeping with the stolen information also lists the town that I formerly resided, Torrington CT, as my current place of residence.
This incident was brought to my attention on 9/5/2015. I had recently opened an account with Match.com using my correct name and address. Due to the timing, I assume the opening of the account at match.com had something to do with Mate1.com stealing information (such as my age and other profile information). I have dealt with Match.com in the past and I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY CONSPIRED IN ANY WAY with Mate.1.com, their competition. I believe they (Mate1.com) hacked Match.com and Facebook (where they stole the photograph). This has caused me embarassement and defamed my character as the title I supposedly wrote on my (fruadulent Match1 Profile contains the word "horny"----Mate1.com allowed or participated in all this.
To be precise, the headline they used over my picture, and personal information which WAS STOLEN is "Sweet and Horny Lakeridge Guy-Age 55".
Also, they somehow obtained my personal email address and password. THIS IS IDENTIFY THEFT, hopefully it has not gone passed the dating service level. The first thing Mate1.com can do is remove the fake profile, the URL is:
www.mate1.com/profiles/LakeridgeDave
Charged $49.95 to my bank account. I didn't even see, mate.1 on line did not sign up.
In or shortly before September 2014 Mate1.com Canadian site charged my debit account the amount of $49.95 to my debit card without my permission. I DID NOT GO ONLINE WITH THIS DATING SITE. My bank supposedly investigated my fraud complaint but apparently were given false credentials so that my claim was denied. FYI, I was signed up on this site briefly in...
Read full review of Mate1 Enterprises and 1 commentI took out trial I never agreed to sign up
I took out the 3 days trial of mate 1 to see what the web site is all about. I never agreed to sign up for the next payment. As a result of that mate 1 has taken another payment from my bank and have took my money witch was in my bank for another direct debet and has now left me not paying my sky bill and i also have a bank charge now saying that i have over drawn in the bank . So now i have to put 40pounds in my bank to cover sky bill and also a 35pounds bank charge that mate 1 has left me with. So i will be telling friends and family who were thinking off useing mate 1 strongly not to go near them as they dont even ask people if they were happy withthe service and would like to contuie .

An unexpected bill from Mate 1 appeared on my bill. I have not signed up with the online dating website.
Please remove me from mate 1, as i just took trail for 3 days and i paid for this, but why you charged more 56 dollar from my account ... Please send my money back and stop taking money from my account in future.
cancellation
Mate1 took money from my account without authorization today while I was still in the middle of cancelling my account, since then I have gone and cancelled my account and I have composed a request for refund letter and contacted my bank account.
The issue I am having at the moment is it is Saturday, and in order to qualify for a full refund you need to submit your request within three days after you have been billed. My letter won't be there in time for the 3 days grace and we don't even have a UPS Store around this small town.
When I click on cancel, I am sent to another login page where there is no option to cancel.
I did not give them any kind of numbers, so I don't see how they can bill me.
Has anyone out there had this problem ?
I don't want this site no more I want out.

unauthorized emails
I have two email addresses that I use, both with the same log in name. Ex: [protected]@yahoo and [protected]@gmail... I received an insane amount of emails from mate1.com on February 9th and 10th. The first email in each inbox was the sign up confirmation followed by numerous "So and so wants to meet you, see your picture, flirting with you", etc. I have never heard of this site before. When opening the confirmation emails, I saw the user names were put in as socute7288 and mmru497 with different passwords that I obviously did not know. When I followed a link in one of the "so and so wants to meet you" emails, it sends me to my "profile" which has been 57% filled out with information, no picture. I go to my other email and do the same steps to go to my other "profile" which has about the same information with exactly the same two paragraphs of details as the other profile... both followed by "contact me at mary_something at y*a*h*o*o*c*o*m".
When I go to unsubscribe, it send me to an error page.
Wondering if this has happened to anyone else out there.

did your confirmation email include a password that you usually use? because this happened to me, but somehow they had my password too.
? fraudulent site
I saw Mate1.com site on face book and as I have been widowed for 2 and retired for 3 years I thought it might offer me a chance to establish a long term friendship. I did not even compltete my profile and in fact chickened out at the last minute but for some reason I still got a list of women who were seemingly interested in my profile and I was asked to take a 3-day trial for £1.95; I thought I had nothing to lose. I noticed there were quite a number of girls in their 30's who were seemingly interested in my profile and I spoke to them on the Mate1.com site and most of them asked if I had yahoo messenger where it will be easier to chat and exchange photos. I created a yahoo messenger account just for that purpose. I received some quite stunning photos of young women, some in sexy inviting poses, who claimed to be interested in a serious relationship and the age gap between us did not seem to matter. On the profile of one of them, she described herself as Caucasian/white and her location was supposedly China, I was intrigued by that, Her explanation was that a friend of hers living in China had set up the account/profile on her behalf. She told me her father was Australian and had died and she was now staying with her mother, who is African, in Ghana. She was quite light in colour in her photos and did not appear to have a trace of African blood in her. I made the mistake of giving her my mobile phone number and I have been bombarded by calls and text messages since.
Another one listed her location on her profile as Berlin but again her father had died and she was now living in Ghana with her mother and yet another claimed her father was from LA but she was living in Ghana with her mother, the Ghanan connection seemed to crop up time and time again. One of them claimed to be living in Toga with her mother and she sent me a picture of her and her mother, both very Caucasiann looking. Some of the photos from one girl in fact appeared to be of different persons.I spoke to 2 of them on my mobile and each time the voice sounded African and identical in tone, When I commented that her voice sounded African and did not accord with what i would have expected from her photos she said she had been living most of her life in Africa, that's why! Another thing that aroused my suspicion was that I would receive get a long text suddently appearing, about them and all their wonderful qualities which was so obviously pre-prepared and been copied and pasted. When I challenged one of them on this, she denied that was so and said everything was spontaneous and came from the heart. Their written English was appalling I have to say.
When I was checking my barclaycard statement, I noted that Mate1.com had taken a further £39.95 from my account! I suppose i should put it down to bitter experience althougb baclaycard is conducting an enquiry into that.
A few years ago I nearly fell for another scam to do with Euromillion lottery/Fifa and again the scam was from West Africa, Nigeria, this time. The lesson is to avoid anything on line that has aAfricaan connection and sounds too good to be true.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Your Site is infested with these bloodsuckers from GHANA always the same Ghana, Ghana, Ghana! SORT IT its so obvious!
