I have never opened an account with this company. The email they have on file does not belong to me. They will not work with me to get me my moneyback They charged my card $42 and they are not authorized too. I do not and never wanted services with them.

Private Records billed my acct $39.97 on May 15 even though I cancelled subscription with the 5 day trial period. purchased a free trial for $1.00 on May 5. I called and cancelled my subscription on May 7. I was billed $39.97 on May 15. Private Records denied that I cancelled my subscription and refuses to refund the $39.97 which was an unauthorized charge.

It was completely useless because it gave me NO information about anything I looked up, and it also gives FALSE inaccurate information about people. So I cancelled it before my trial ended, OR SO I THOUGHT. They never answered the phones and if you cancel online like I did, they will still charge your account! They took $40 from me after I did everything to cancel before the trial ended. And after speaking to their so called costumer service department, they wanted me to send my phone records to them to show I had attempted to call?! THEY REFUSED TO REFUND ME. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN RESOLVING MY COMPLAINT. MY bank account is now in the negative because of them!

I paid the $1 fee using my credit card. to look up an old friend's phone number. Friday June 19th. I was looking at my bank account in the same day was posted a charge from private records. Net a company located in Florida. also known as MC2. the very same day I was charged I called the company and ask them why they charged me. they said they sent me an email stating that. they added me to the premium list. and are now going to charge me a $39 fee per month. I told them I never received a email from them. they told me to check my SPAM which I did it was not in there either. I am a senior $39 is my food for a week. I told them I would be getting a hold of a lawyer if they did not withdraw my charge. and they did not withdraw my charge. I just got off the phone with my bank's fraud department. please let consumers know of this rodit looks like from the other 19 complaints you were unable to help anybody retrieve their money's

I tried to cancel my subscription itvwouldnt cancel. I called when charged 39.97 and wont refund my money I did thrbtrial and themit was suppose to be only 1dollar. My card was charged 2 dollars. Then i immediatly tried to cance and it wouldnt let me. So i tried to email and cancel it wouldnt accept that. And then a couple days later i was charged 39.97 and i immediatly tried to contact them and no success so i sent email andnnever got a reply so i thwn called and got an agent who told me i need to prove to them that i tried to cancel before my card was charged. Well thats not possible if it wouldnt accept the email. And i didnt get any answer when calling that next day. So i told her that i didny know if i coyld prove it. But it is less then 12 hrs of my card beimg charged and i havent used any of the service they provide at anytime and i wouls like a refund. She tolsd me no that couldnt happen i asked to speak to her super and ahe said ahe cant let me sspeaknto her that she will inforn.her of what i am wanting and she will call me back within the hr. So i sit and still waiting and never got my money back.

Without my knowledge after a one time fee, I was enrolled in a monthly service I do not want. Business refuses to refund me charges. This is a scam. I used PrivateRecords for what I thought was a quick one time search with fee on March 27th. There was no indication on the site that this would enroll me in a trial period. Apparently, I received an email which I clicked on. However, I have no recollection of this. Also, this email went to my junk mail, which I never check. One April 1st, I was charged $39.37 for a monthly subscription. I called the very next day, to ask that I be refunded and that this be immediately canceled. A very condescending, rude customer service agent told me that she would not refund me and canceled my membership, comparing this to the purchase of clothes which after a trail period you can't return. This is the worst SCAM that I've encountered. This company wants to trick people into using their service and hope that people don't read/find the email they sent after you give them your credit card info for a quick one time search. Terrible experience. I've never felt so ripped off.

Misleading and scammy "trial" practice
Misleading and scammy "trial" practice. Can't cancel without calling in and waiting on customer service which not everybody can do within THEIR time. The page completely appears as though you can do a singular lookup for $1 without starting a membership, although when doing so and being given a completely incorrect background check you actually do start one. Purposefully misleading page with hidden terms and conditions to lock you in to being overcharged for their basically useless service. Then when you try to cancel before your "trial" is over the website suddenly stops working and gives you issues. I tried to call customer service who were absolutely no help and just went along with it, then when telling them I planned on just charging back they said they'd wait to hear from my bank and I should've canceled it on time. I work overtime and don't always have time to stop and take time to call into customer service because YOUR website doesn't allow me to just do so on there. Currently can't chargeback yet as it's still under temporary authorization but I plan on doing so as soon as it's released. This is ridiculous and I won't be scammed.

I came across this site and the cost was only $1.00 No where and I repeat no where did I agree to pay a $39.97 fee and the information i received was totally inaccurate and so minimal i could have probably saved my $1.00 on other sites. There information was very very inaccurate to begin with. When I saw the charge i immediately contacted this company who refused to refund my money. They supposively sent me an email to accept which i never opened or even saw. The refused to give me my funds back at first and asked for a supervisor. The rude lady on the other end who was very unprofessional said someone would call. Not trusting, i called my bank and immediately cancelled my card which now i cant access funds at all through this account as banks are closed and have to use the ATM. Unfair and inconvenient to me. No where on their page does it list that information so to me is sneaky and poor business practice. I did get a call back from someone named Mary who gave me $20 but said i accepted the package and I DID NOT IN ANY WAY knowingly. Not to mention, they waited to take funds until the end of the month. Come on! I therefore want the entire balance owed of 19.97 as i find this unfair practices. While I appreciated the $20 during this tough time of the COVID pandemic every penny matters, and this was a punch in the gut. It was gas money. How can people be so ruthless. Again, I just want what I find to be fair, the complete amount back. So i am reaching out to you to please help me get this back from a scam of a company. If they give minimal information to a million people for $1, look what they are getting? Rich off of us. Thank you for listening and I hope you have better success than I did and hopefully I have the same outcome as did other people that filed the SAME COMPLAINT on this site. I saw one on 2/20 who I actually did piggy back off of.
