long term disability
I paid premiums for 60% Long Term Disability through pay employer Verizon after being approved for long term disability Metlife has refused to pay my benefits stating that my 60% would be less anySocial Security Disability and Pension and that they are only required to pay $20.00 a month. Metlife never paid my whole benefit but did make some payments which they are now telling me were overpayment and I need to repay them. I have requested they send me proof of disclosure at the time I enrolled stating these reductions of benfits and they have failed to do so. I have gone through their appeals process, which they upheld their decision. Metlife has sent this alledged overpayment to collections because I have refused to pay them any monies as at no time during the enrollment was any of this disclosed. I paid my premiums in good faith for years this insurance was for supplemental income should I become disabled, if it had been disclosed that these reductions would be applied there is no way I would have enrolled for their LTD.

consumer harassment
METLIFE Home loans - my update - LOOKiNG for partners in class action lawsuit I am serious and have the desire to retain counsel . This company has been horrid . the is fraud and need to have legal due process to make it stop.
This company has been devious and is not transparent . I agreed to drop out of the Keeping Homes Affordable Program after two years of non responsive and drawn out steps I agreed in writing repay the difference of the amount between a temp modification,
Latest news -MY experience is that they are continuing harassing me. despite my timely repayments all per amount and with cashiers check at the exact specified amount as per an agreed upon repaymetn schedule . I have confirmed the reciept of the payments. I continue to receive certified letters that demand more additional money . They do not send me out a written statement when I call consumer service after I request that they clarify, and then do this nutty stuff . All within the space of less than a month . I am concerned that if they are doing this to me, it is happening elsewhere. Plus they are taking money from the feds and trying to force people out of their properties illegally using this tactic.
The information is unclear and conflicting with letters from the same company of only two week before .
In a nutshell I am simply trying to repay them as per the agreed amount. and resume my original mortgage before this nightmare began . They will not speak in English and continue to send out these harassment letters, despite a record of repayment an excellent credit history In my case Over 11 years with no missed payments I think they are trying to steal . DO YOU WANT TO CONTACT THE STATE ATTORNEY office in your state to complain about METLFE ? Speak out! This is more than I ever bargained for when I signed up for this program and it is in my mind an organized crime approach targeting the consumer . KEEP AND MAINTAIN ALL YOU RECORDS,

Metlife Home Loans are crooks and Fannie Mae and OCC are enablers. It's all a big scam. I would like to them be accountable for their lies upon lies upon lies... I don't think anything that comes verbaly or written from their company can be trusted in my experience.
loan modification
I have been waiting for my loan modification to take place for over two years now.. I had to almost file bankruptcy as well in order to stop a foreclosure sale on my home in 2008. I completed a forbearance plan and I was told my loan would be submitted for a modification. I have sent in financial over and over again with other supporting documents. I have never been denied. They even asked me if they can send an appraiser over to look around inside my home. I asked why via email and I got no response. They even lied to me telling me that Fannie Mea owns my loan when I asked them. I have sent numerous emails to the processor and sent emails through the First Horizon login page and I'm told to call in. The processor always likes for us to speak via phone so there isn't any correspondence to prove what we discussed. He just keeps telling me he's sorry for the delay. He seems to be a nice guy. I know they must have a lot of folks to help but it seems like no one is really getting the help they need, based on the complaint filed. I try to get the employee number or names when I make contact so that I have records. I really think they are trying to let my balance bill up so they can try to foreclose on my home again. They don't send any monthly statements, I just don't trust them and I'm terrified at this point. I'm willing to join in on a suit. I call for a updated every two weeks and I'm told its still under review for two plus years wow. How are they getting away with this. I even went to NACA and they were no help. Are there any state officials in GA that can help?

Mr.Rajinder Bhanot from jalandhar(pb), presented to me as an ITO.He said his daughter Ramanjit is falling short of her target in metlife policy, and got my and my wife s policies done for RS 162500 saying that this is one time payment plan. Not only that, he got his father operated from me for cataract without paying my operation charges. After this he changed his mobile number. Now after one year, i have come to know that he is only an metlife agent and he has given me a long time investment plan. Inspite of my repeated complaints to metlife representives, nothing has been done. Your good self is therefore requested to direct metlife to either refund my money or convert my policies to one time investment plan, and take strict action against fraudulent agents. Previous phone number of Mr Rajinder Bhanot is [protected], and that of Ramanjit is [protected]. My policies numbers are [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], and that of my wife are [protected] and [protected].
Metlife refuses to pay claim, they want you to take them to court. Even though it is only $403.15, that means they pay out more money than they need to. And your insurance premium goes up. Don’t think I will ever use their insurance.
I am the unfortunate holder of a metlife policy. I have been trying to get the NAV of may policy for the past 1 month. Everytime I call the call centre the computers are out of order

What was the situation? It is difficult to understand based on your complaint.
poor customer service
I am so annoyed with MetLife I received a refund check dated 11/24/10 and I contacted the company 4 + times and I still haven’t received a replacement. The first and second time I called the customer service rep claim that I didn’t exist, so I requested to be transferred stateside. Once I was able to reach a rep stateside, I told her my story, and she claimed that there must be a mix up because MetLife is financially secure, so it must have been an error. Then why is it that their bank, JPMorgan Chase Bank refused to release (cash) my check?
cancellation of policy
MetLife canceled the fire insurance coverage on my deceased father's house in Columbus, Ohio with no advance notice of any kind. My father was the named insured on the subject policy. His house was the property covered by the policy. His automobile insurance was provided by the same company under the same policy. In December 2009, the policy was renewed from February 3, 2010 to February 3, 2011. My father died on December 20, 2010. The house has been vacant ever since. Because of the change in status of the house, I wrote a letter to MetLife on January 15, 2011. In that letter, I requested that the automobile insurance policy be canceled, effective immediately. It continued: "Homeowners Policy - The house is now owned by my father's estate and is listed for sale with a realtor. The insurance coverages related to the house should remain in effect without interruption. The rating and premium probably need to be recalculated, since the house is not occupied and the discount related to the automobile insurance is no longer applicable. * * * If there is any problem complying with these instructions, please contact me." In response to my letter, I received an automobile insurance declarations page dated January 26, 2011 from MetLife indicating that the auto policy had been canceled pursuant to my request, effective January 15, 2011. It identifies the named insured as "Estate of (my father's name)." This demonstrates unequivocally that the company had received my January 15th letter. I also received a notice of policy change dated January 12, 2011 from MetLife which indicated changes had been made to the mailing address and the address of the home on the homeowner's policy. I received this notice because I had directed that my father's mail be forwarded to me. I called MetLife's policy service telephone number on Friday morning, February 4, 2011 at approximately 9:45 a.m. Eastern time. The unfortunate woman who drew the short straw of fielding my call told me that the homeowner's policy had been canceled the previous day - February 3, 2011. In response to my direct question, she said that there was no coverage on my father's house as of the moment of our conversation. I received no notice in any form - written, telephonic, e-mail - of the impending cancellation of the homeowner's policy. My January 15th letter provided MetLife with all of my contact information. They knew how to use my mailing address for notices directed to my father's estate, as evidenced by the notice of cancellation of the auto policy. Even if a notice of cancellation had been mailed to my father's prior address, it would have been forwarded to me. The policy was canceled without advance notice. From the information available on the Ohio Department of Insurance website, I understand that this is a violation of applicable Ohio law or regulation.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
If I'm reading your letter correctly they canceled your coverage because of non-payment of premium. The Policy was to have renewed on February 3, 2011, but you never paid the premium or attempted to pay the previously billed premium. Truthfully if you had paid it and then had the coverage adjusted they would have billed you for any difference.
If I don't pay for coverage at renewal all my policies will cancel without notice. Not sure why your case should be special.
coverage is useless, almost nothing is covered under this plan
Met life states high customer satisfaction with in-network dentists. Wrong! The only dentists they get are ones that are willing to work for sub-standard rates, then they nickel and dime you on everything to make up their losses. And met life, the pre-approvals are extremely difficult to get, and if you opt not to get one, you are at risk because you pay all in that case. Free cleanings are never free. Actual bills often exceed estimates by 50% to 100%. And metlife says they have every right to delay processing of pre-treatment approvals for 30 days. And you can do nothing about it. You dangle. Or you pay the full price on your own. It is actually very much like that advertisement on tv where you are in the dentist chair and your dentist comes back and says, "i'll be back in 28 days!" how true is this!
Met life is underhanded and manipulative. If you have a choice, please do not choose metlife - you will be sorry. "claim denied" how can they stay in business? How, because they are crooks.
They are incompetent in the way they handle files and requests. They say they "never received the paperwork". It is a circus. And when a manager does call you back, they just recite the facts that their policies clearly state they are in the right. They have the worst customer service. Stay away.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
My employer recently changed our dental coverage to the Metlife "Basic" plan. Now every employee that goes to the dentist complains about Metlife only covering about 2/3 of the out of network dentist's bill (I've seen the Benefit Statements). After looking at the list of network dentists, I can absolutely be sure those guys did not finish anywhere near the top of their class at dental school - looks like a terrorist watch list, really. What kind of skilled, legitimate professional is going to work for 2/3 of the market rate? I am going to drop dental coverage and pay out of pocket (which is what I'd have to do anyway) and keep my same, competent dentist. Metlife - their motto should be, "Don't get Met, it DOESN'T pay!"
I must disagree. I work in a dental office and deal with Met Life Insurance all the time. I never seem to have problems with claims or pre determinations. As long as the necessary information is sent to them they pay in a timely manor. I advise my patients to pick Met Life if there is an option.
Mortgage modification
In June of 2009, I requested a home loan modification application from MetLife Home Loans. To date, my application has not been processed. I have sent in six modification packages(two of the packages were sent certified mail). They sent me two letters stating that they received my packages and they were waiting to be assigned to a servicer. The last package...

Not responding to claim from husband's death, Aug. 2008. Hiding details that would make me the beniifciary, rather than his ex-wife. This is called "in Bad Faith'. I can't tell you how horribe this experience has been. Met Life- you have not seen the last of me.
rip off
I made the maximum IRA contribution to Metlife for 2007 for my wife and I in early 2007.
Later on that year, I had some excess cash in money market accounts which were generating very little interest, so I decided to make an early IRA contribution for 2008 in October 2007.
I wrote the account numbers and the intended year of contribution on the faces of two separate checks (one $5000. check each for my wife and I).
I filled out the mail-in stub for one check designating the intended year (2008)of contribution, but failed to do so for the second check. Metlife deposited the checks. However, as previously stated I did write the intended contribution year on the memo space on both check faces.
In early 2008 I became aware that I could have sent in another $1000. each for the maximum 2008 contribution, and I did so.
In a November 2009 meeting with the financial advisor who sold me the Metlife policy, we noticed that only $2, 000. had been applied by Metlife to the 2008 IRA accounts, and we then began contacting Metlife to get the discrepancy addressed. Subsequently, several contacts were made with Metlife regarding the issue, and each time I was "blown off" and told that Metlife was not going to do anything about it.
In about April of this year (2010)I received a notice from IRS that only $2000. total had been received for year 2008 and that since I had claimed $12, 000. deduction on the i.t. return, I owed an additional $2, 962.00 taxes, interest, and penalties for 2008.
Several more attempts were made to get Metlife to correct the issue, to no avail. Their bottom line was that 1) I shouldn't have sent the checks in that early because a check sent in 2007 couldn't be applied to the 2008 IRA. 2) My accountant should have caught the error. 3) The memo on the check faces were for my records only 4) One mail in stub was not filled out. 5) Nothing was their fault, period.
When asked to return the $10, 000. which had no legal place to go within the IRAs, Metlife started talking about surrender fees, etc.
Finally, with no resolution to the problem I had to cough up the $3000. additional to the IRS, and my accountant charged me several hundred dollars for his efforts to resolve the issue.
As of this date, August 13, 2010, I still await the return of the $10K from Metlife.
terrible service
So, I have put off surgery on my rotator cuff for about 9 years. It was not a pressing matter and I could function just fine in all positions that I held regardless of job requirements. So, in Dec 2009 I have a 2nd MRI done and it shows that my rotator tendon is almost completely torn. I am in constant pain and it needs to be repiared within 8 months. So, I schedule my surgery for June and get a hold of my employer. I ask who covers our short-term disability and find out it is MetLife. Never having used any type of disability, I get some info and do my due diligence. I find out that I am paying into this program to get back 60% of my pay while I am out. So, that gives a little pause. I read some reviews and some non-partisan literature and am satisfied that they will be an adequate provider. So, night before my surgery I call our insurance carrier and make sure everything is in order and then attempt to contact MetLife. I get through but they can tell me nothing as I have not officially been out of work yet. This is my first red flag.
So, surgery goes well and recovery is coming along during that first week. I am trying to monitor my STD(short0term disability) account but cannot find it in their system. I call. I get a rep that gives me some info. So, I go back to the web and try again but to no avail. Now, per their own literature, the account manager for my claim was supposed to call me within 2 days of my first day out of work. It is now 4 days and I can't even access my account. So, I call my employer and speak to the person that handles our health information. I give her the info and she calls me back later unsure of how to proceed. After 8 days of this, I finally get a call from my claim manger to whom I have left 6-8 pleasant and not-so-pleasant voice mails. I am desperately trying to track down this alleged info that they still need while heavily medicated and unable to drive. So, I finally get it all organized and then she calls(Anne C.) to tell me she has everything they need and the claim is approved. So, it becomes obvious to me that they had it all along and just could not get it organized. Now, I have raised red flags 2, 3, and 4. But, wait there's more!
So, they approve my claim for 6 weeks. But, my 1st follow-up with the doctor is not until week 7! So, I tell Anne C. this and she says that she will call my doctor and employer and get it extended. This is mid-July. I keep checking my account and do not see any changes. So, I get a little worried. I call my rep at my employer and complain vehemently 2 more times. I feel like I am being strung up and left for dead here. So, finally I make my 10th call to this woman and tell her that "I require immediate action" as it is now Aug 7th and still nothing. We are going out of town, I need this resolved. Red flag number 5 goes up.
So, MetLife policy is that if your case manager does not call you back in 2 hours, another one will. I leave my messages multiple times and NEVER got a call back from anyone. Anne C. did return my call 1 time out of 6-8 calls. This time, I leave my message at 830am. Again, for the 8th time or so, the associate tells me they are making a note on the call sheet and thasomeone will call back within 2 hours. So, I wait patiently by the phone. 2 hours go by, then 3, then 4, then 5, then 6. It is now almost 3pm and I just get a call back. It isn't even my case manager. I tell this lady my situation and Bingo! she extends my STD until I can at least see my doctor. Now, remember that I told my case manager this back in mid-July. Why could Anne C. not have done this then and not waste almost a month of my time?
So, here I sit. My STD is only approved until I get to see my doctor later this month. Then it takes AT LEAST 7 days for me to be able to return to work. Meanwhile, I have ZERO faith that MetLife and especially Anne C. will be able to get the required info organized and entered on the day I see my doctor to keep my claim active. So, I am trying to avoid stress and focus on rehab but cannot really do that when I have to spend 40% of my time to tracking down this woman who is non-responsive.
MetLife sucks! The reason most employers have it is because they under-bid 97% of other insurers for these services and offer a decent bulk rate. I wish that at least my employer, with employees over 50, 000, would make a switch!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
If you can do all this complaining and calling, how bout this "GO BACK TO WORK!" . You were out 6 weeks, that's long enough. Some of you people kill me. First of all, you are not the only person with a claim. Secondly, half the time, the reason for a delay with medical reviews is that the doctor's office doesn't send in the information timely. Next, if you didn't get a call back within 2 hours, I'd be willing to bet, you didn't follow the correct procedure in leaving a message (i.e using the call by name instead of speaking to a call center rep like the rest of the world has to.) No insurance company gets any kick backs for denying or delaying your claim. It's easier when a claim is approved as a matter of fact, so get off your high horse if you think that is what's happening. I don't even work for an insurance company and you're on my nerves already. If you were promised a call in 2 hours, why did you wait 3 and 4? I would've called back in 2 hrs and 1 min. Also, if you were trying to get your claim rushed because you needed to travel...then tell me why didn't you return to work? (Red flag #100?)One would say, if you can travel, why can't you work? Seriously read your above rant and tell me, don't you sound a little spoiled and entitled?
caused thousands of dollars of damage
Called 6/19/2010 and was told I had rain seepage in my finished basement. Argued for half and hour and then gave up. 7/8/2010 I called again and asked for an adjuster to come out. Same rain BS. I told the first nonresponder I was hiring a contractor and ripping open the wall and finding the leak. Carpet, fireplace, furniture, entertainment center all ruined. Contractor found water main leak. Charged $2000 to fix. Dry wall has 3 foot high and 50 foot long of mildew. I called MetLife and they sent an independant adjuster who was exchanging cards with my contractor. I said I wanted appraisal. Never received anything. Today I get a check for $2000 so everything is ruined and I paid to find problem fix it, remove drywall, carpet pad, furniture and entertainment center. Secondary supervisor adjuster said I called 6/19/2010 and said water was pouring in through windows. NO WINDOWS IN BASEMENT! So first resonder lied and documented it. I asked that a copy of the report be sent to me. He doesn't know if he can do that. Lies! Lies! Lies! 15 years of paying homeowners and this type of treatment. I have a bad heart. Pacemaker/defibulator etc. I go every 90 days for test just to stay alive and MetLife put me through a living Hell for over a month now. Still not one MetLife employee has been here. I hope I have pictures before that don't have people in them because I will post the after. MetJoke Homeowners. Stay away.
cut off payments
I had two operations on my neck and the doctors said I would never be able to work again and I was placed on disability. I am premently disable when it comes to working. I am 61 years old. Metlife wanted me to send them doctor papers all the time when they know I never going back to work. The money they owe me was going toward paying them for overpay and now they cut off the overpay check and want me to pay them thousands of dollars I do not have. they wanted papers and I sent them and they wanted more and I told them I did not have any health insurance and could not afford to keep running to the doctor when I am on disability.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

requests ignored
I manage a large dental practice in upstate NY and have two, possibly three doctors that are willing to become participating members for MetLife Dental. I have called MetLife atleast 15 times within the past 45 days attempting to obtain three provider contract to enroll my doctors. To this date, i have not received ONE. I have left messages, spoken to customer service and sent e-mails. I have asked that they fax, or e-mail me one provider contract and I will gladly make copies. To my amazement, I am told that they are unable to fax or e-mail me. Are you kidding me? I am honestly questioning the decision to enroll my doctors. These are serious red flags. MetLife Dental gets a zero in my book... I am no longer recommending them.

refuse to transfer assets
Met Life has refused to honor a request to transfer assest to Fidelity Investments.
Beware of Met Life Total Control Accounts!
That account pays 3% interest. Better than any bank I know of. However, if you don't want to keep it there, they gave you a checkbook with that account. Simply write a check to your Fidelity account. Problem solved.
service not wanted - tried stopping
Receiving auto insurance through my employer. It was deducted from my paycheck each payday. I recently left my job and contacted the company to cancel my auto insurance because I no longer needed it. I was told they would not cancel the insurance until I had another policy to replace it (even though I no longer drive the vehicle). Now I am getting a bill for their services. I called to complain and was told that they would sent it to small claims.
said my life insurance is going broke
I took out a Metlife life insurance policy in 1995 paying 100 a month for a 200, 000 policy mine and 99 a month for the wifes 100, 000 policy.yes we did borrow 6500 from it awhile back and was told it did not have to be paid back, it would just be deducted from the face amount. Well our original agent left after about 2 years and ever since Metlife would not give us a name of our new agent and even canceled the policy becuase we changed banks for auto pay and they would not except the new bank info.i will be filing a complaint with the indiana insurance commisioner.they suck big time customer service wise.worst part is now they say mine is almost broke and hers is not far behind. we were led to beleive this insurance was for whole life but turns out i feel we were lied to from the start and at the last minute they tell us its almost worthless, so yes i am pissed and feel we deserve a total refund of all payments plus interest minus the amount we borrwed. stay away from metlife.!

jorge- almost the same thing happened to me, but worse...because my husband passed away & metlife did not make good on the policy. very long story, but essentially the met rep screwed me & my children big time & now life is a daily struggle... metlife takes the IF out of life?...don't think soo ...they SUCK!
What you have is a universal life policy, and if you actually read the yearly statements they are sent to you every year, you would have realized that your policy interest rate and the premium you were paying was not going to keep up the cash in the policy. This is not MetLife's fault, its yours for not reading your statements! I have the exact same policy, I took it out in 1993, and I throughly read my annual statements to know what is going on with my policy. Also, the fact that you "borrowed" money is another reason your policy is going to lapse, you took out all the cash!
I got talked out of variable life insurance by my agent, ended up buying a 30yr term from ING through YourLifeSolution.com. Can't say I regret playing the buy term invest the difference game.
One of the great unknowns is, only buy 20 year term insurance. If you notice large insurance companies are in the news constantly because of their deceptive ways.

in this latter you are showing my achievement as just 4% against my Tareget 1, 63, 1640. so let me explain sir that still i have not compleated one year as I joined metlife on 4 nov 09 .
month business rec licence
nov09 0 2 0
dec09 50k 1 0
jan10 12k(yogesh joshi) 2 2
feb10 0 2 0
and few FA which has been maped to me in this month only.
1 manoj saraswat
2 ravi dagliya
3 yogesh joshi
4 shabbir husain
5 rumana kagji
6 rubina khan
Due to some issues i couldnt get expected business.because of few products was stopped selling by the company. and as i came here from pharmaceuticals. so insurance was a quite new sector for me. thats why time was taken by me for understanding to products and everything.
mean while i was not geting any support as i required from my mentor.and in this regarding i have been complained to you earliar two times but neither you replied me nor mr.malik sir.
recently malik sir was here then i was not aware that he is here.and he blemed me to not to come office on sunday.
and when i meet him, directly he asked me to regine only.without listening any problem.
sir without solving an employee's problem how he can perform?
Sir every time you threatend us to termination without giving any solution to perform better or just motivate.
I have experience of 7 yrs woking with team. I know how the figure is importent. but if the seniors dont want to get the business in a proper way then how a employee can grow? without employees staybility how we can get the business.every time you sayas to get imidiate business.
Everybody is here saving his job.
compnay hire the employee and make him to get business and if business not comes in one month, you started to harrase him and bound him to write a comitment mail to The HR. every time you search the way to fire the employee.
now you send me this notice, so i am not in condition to reply you well, because this is a question mark on my carier, if you will terminate me. then how i will take care of my family. you are not aware that how much responsibilities i am having.
sir i knew that HR is here to solve Employees probelm, but now i came to know that you are here to just hire the employee and if he does not achieve the given figure, you fire him.
Sir the figure which is given by you is not so big. but the thing is that, the product should be understaned by the customer and my advisores. i am totaly depand on my FA.and my all FA is working in the field every time. and i go with them on joint call.and i am geting good responce i am sure that in next few days my team will rock. this was just explaination from my side as you asked to me in this latter. looking for your reply
Thanks and Regards
